I have some more angst

Eve stopping by Adam’s house for some reason or another and realizing you’re there. It’s tense at first, of course, but she’s polite and says hi, compliments your garden, etc. You two weren’t exactly friends back in college, but not enemies or rivals either.

But as she’s getting ready to go back to the city, she sees you and Adam together, just standing side by side. And seeing the way he looks at you, Eve feels like she’s about to get acid reflux because nearly 20 years worth of what she tried so hard to convince herself we’re just irrational frets have just been confirmed.

Adam was never really hers. Eve knew this deep down, even before they signed the divorce agreement, Hell maybe that seed of suspicion was planted all the way back in college, but to see it in person really just made it all sink in.

Eve may have had the wedding ring and five kids who called him dad, but Adam’s heart always belonged to you.

i think that the kids, especially the younger ones, would go back to Eve's and have little stories about you that they tell her
