Cold night

Temperatures drop

So, my body's, it can't heat up

It must be autumn, then

I put the kettle on

Let the steam warm my fingers

Before making tea

Green, without caffeine

Don't want to extend

A cold night, and then

Six slices of ginger

Complete the infusion

To spice up my life a bit

Here, I sit and drink tea

Enjoying

Something hot

Just to stay warm

Till I think

What a bore

No blanket to share

And nothing to grope

No sugar to get

No sugar to give

But I added some ginger

But Melone isn’t even laughing he’s just baffled

“I just can’t believe it- how?!”

“I didn’t go to school like you did and was never into one night stands.”

“I suppose that’s fair.” Shrugging, swirling his 2:00 pm cocktail in one hand before he gasps suddenly, drink sloshing, a new revelation coming to mind.

“Does Pesci know??!” Prosciutto wants to scream.

“Can you keep your voice down!” Prosciutto is matching his coworkers volume in desperation now.

Melone shrinks in his seat from the scolding, red and embarrassed by his own excitement.

“I haven’t told him, and I haven’t lied either, though, I’m positive he’s not expecting a saint.”

“And Pesci is….?”

Prosciutto doesn’t know whether to smirk or grimace. Jealousy, pride? or some twisted amalgam of both?

“He had a little girl friend in secondary school, he only got to mess around a little before they split”

Now Melone is laughing, half disturbed by the idea that Pesci of all people has one up on Prosciutto.
