As hard as she tried to hide her emotions, it was impossible to do so now. Billie was visibly shaken. Her heart still felt as if it would beat right out of her chest. Even though the lights had stopped flashing, the trauma of what had happened 15 years prior was still in the forefront of her thoughts. She didn't know yet if something had gone wrong in one of the labs, or if there'd been a security breach.

All she knew was when the red lights began to pulsate, she had gotten dizzy. She had struggled to stay upright. And the fear. She once again felt like that fifteen year old girl that had been chased through Umbrella by an infected doberman. The fifteen year old girl who was convinced she was going to die the moment she'd felt razor sharp teeth pierce her shoulder.

His words barely registered in her head, breaking through the surface and pulling her back into the present. She looked at him, her eyes wide and filled with tears threatening to fall. For the first time since her sister had abandoned her, Billie Wesker was letting herself be vulnerable. Hands reached for him, grabbing his forearms. They were solid. They were safe. She was safe with him.
