there were FIVE archive 81 fics that were posted for fic in a box. i'm definitely not biased at all but they're all GOOD.
if i could only forget it | dan/rat | teen | 3k | Dan struggles to adjusting to life after the City. Maybe there is no moving on for him - or maybe he chooses to get caught again.
the promise made to rearrange | dan/rat| explicit | 5.6k | a direct sequel to the pain is eased but you'll never be free | It was nice, to be understood. Dan couldn’t remember that feeling, so it bloomed inside of him, new and ever reaching, warm in his chest and into his stomach and then to the tips of his fingers both the old and the new. He no longer was certain that there was any difference between the two things, and he was glad for it; because what did he need to define himself into split parts? What would be the point, of being two separate entities? It was a relief, he thought, to be here and to sit very still with his hands on Rat’s legs.
think of love when you remember me | static man/nicholas waters | teen | 5.2k | recursive fic of rather breathe than drown in sorrow
“Hah,” Static Man said, without any real laughter in his voice. “So, like you - do you want to just deeply traumatize him in a new way, then?” “Static Man,” Nicholas said thickly. “Gotcha,” Static Man said, “I gotcha, you’re so full of shit, you know that?” Nicholas looked at Static Man and thought that he had no room to argue, so he just shrugged. They were silent for a moment, before Static Man again encroached on Nicholas’ space. “What are you afraid of, exactly?” he said, and tilted his head-shape, which was especially human and made something warm and terrifying linger in Nicholas’ gut.
paint the ceiling of my brain | dan/rat | explicit | 6.9k | warnings: drug use, body horror, dubious consent
“Rat,” he said, but he didn’t know what he was going to say next. He was bizarrely close to giving in, because Rat seemed so harmless like this, and Dan did sort of want to make whatever this was a little easier on him. “Stick out your tongue,” Rat said again, and the hand that had been tracing the side of Dan’s face and throat was now trailing along his lower lip, as if trying to bait his tongue out of his mouth. He was speaking quietly but with a harsh, almost frenetic quality to his tone that was beginning to make Dan a little nervous. “You must taste the air. Taste the colors! They’re entirely different from anything else I have ever experienced!”
witnessless me | dan/rat | teen | 3.2k
[SFX: Train rumbling off, growing fainter and finally disappearing. Panting, heavy breaths into the microphone.] DAN: Wow. That was really something. It went by so fast, but I could see - there were passengers inside, a man reading a newspaper, a woman with a tray of coffee cups… The whole world felt like it was shaking for a minute there. I wonder if it scared the rats. But you could hear how smoothly it ran on the tracks. The rats here… They seem really quiet to me. Maybe that’s how they keep surprising me. I thought rats were chattier.

now THIS is my favorite ultrakill fantrack, only partially cause it's an adaptation of my favorite theme for my favorite character...
that aside I think it just conceptually fucks hard, the concept of hell itself bringing back V2 to finally settle the score is fucking awesome to me. I also just like how the various ingame sfxs are mixed into the track, makes it very unique considering ultrakill music doesn't use any samples last I checked. off the top of my head there's a coin flick sound after the intro, during some of the more intense parts mechanical whirring can be heard, and the death laughter sound is used a handful of times (I like this one especially since it gives the impression of V2 literally laughing at you ^^)
#video#can you tell that I have a lot of thoughts on the silly red robot. I love it so much#Youtube#media chatter#bellspeaks

[A4A] Your Breathe Better Bot [Robot Speaker] [Asthmatic Listener] [Personal Attention] [Possible Series?]
AN: Hopefully this will turn into a series, but even if not I might as well put out this idea that’s been cooking for a while. I was going to do something different, but it’s ragweed time, soooo ¯\_(˶′◡‵˶)_/¯
Google Doc
Usage:
- Okay for monetization
- Please credit me as Harvey Hawk :)
- Tweaks, improv, and pronoun changes are okay! Just please do not rewrite the script completely.
Synopsis: The listener’s father has sent them a personalized Medibot of the Breathe-Better variety. The speaker, Breathe-Better-Bot, or 3B, is here to assist the listener in managing their asthma symptoms. They may also provide some much-needed companionship to the lonely listener.
Key:

(Voice instruction)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
DAD:
(Voiceover)
Dear Starshine, I’m so sorry that I had to cancel my visit. I know you haven’t been feeling well, but the clinic has been overwhelmingly busy. The next day off I get I’ll be driving up to see you. In the meantime, I’ve sent you something to help keep your asthma under control. It was made by a colleague of mine, and so far, has gotten incredibly positive reviews. I also sent a data chip to personalize your experience, so you don’t have to enter your preferences manually. Let me know how you like it. Love, Dad.
[Cardboard unfolded, shifting packing peanuts]
[Boot-up noises]
3B:
Hello, I am Breathe Better Bot, but you may call me 3B. I am here to help you track and control your asthma symptoms. Please note that I am not a replacement for your current asthma treatment plan as prescribed by your doctor. I am merely here to help you maintain that plan.
Excellent question. I am one of many advanced medical AI robots developed to handle a multitude of medical conditions depending on the patient’s needs. My particular programming focuses on asthma, allergies, and other respiratory illnesses. Your experience can be personalized by filling out the questionnaire shown on my torso screen, or you may insert a data chip from your care provider.
[Click and whirring]
Your preferences have been set, patient Starshine. You can change these any time in the settings. Now, please register your fingerprint on my screen.
Haha, that tickles! Just kidding. That is robot humor.
(.)
Yes, I have many jokes! After all, laughter is the best medicine.
You are curious about my services? Certainly. I can contact your pharmacy to request refills as prescribed by your doctor. I am equipped with a nebulizer, peak-flow meter, and a metered-dose inhaler. My databanks contain extensive medical knowledge, I connect to wi-fi, I am trained to handle a variety of emergency situations, and I can clean. Speaking of –
[Scanning]
Look at all this dust! How are you managing with such a mess, patient?
(.)
You are not? No wonder! When was the last time you cleaned?
(.)
You have not had the energy? Understood. Patient experiences fatigue. I will keep that in mind, in a manner of speaking.
[Vacuuming]
There. Much better.
(.)
No need to thank me, patient. It is what I am programmed for, after all.
(.)
Next order of business: please download the Medibot app onto your phone. You can access any of my data, call me directly, or contact the Medibot help desk.
(.)
Excellent. Next, I suggest we go over ways to manage your symptoms. A clean environment is only the first step.
(.)
Well, we can set a schedule so you do not miss your medication for one thing. Taking medicine inconsistently can often be worse than not taking it all.
(.)
You do not need to apologize, patient. I am not going to chastise you. My only concern is for your wellbeing.
(.)
You may also benefit from an exercise routine to help improve lung capacity. Have you done yoga before?
(.)
Worth a try indeed. I will add it to your regimen. Next, diet and sleep.
(.)
Certainly. Do not worry, though, I will not be too pushy. You are not going to be given a bedtime or put on a diet; I will just make sure you get adequate rest and proper nutrition.
(.)
Understandable. I know this seems like a lot from a respiratory wellness bot, but your father added a few extra features to help improve your quality of daily life. Additional features include but are not limited to daily affirmations, journal app, and dad’s recipes.
(.)
Now I must assess how you are currently managing your asthma. How often do you use your emergency inhaler?
(.)
Noted. How often, if at all, do you wake up in the night with symptoms?
(.)
I see. One more question. How often does your asthma affect your ability to complete daily activities, such as cooking, laundry, and work responsibilities?
(.)
Understood. Thank you for answering my questions, Starshine. I can now create an effective plan to manage your asthma.
(.)
Your medicine? Very well. I will contact your doctor to refill your maintenance medicine as well as provide a fresh inhaler.
(.)
As I do not wish to create a disturbance, do you have any roommates or pets that I should know about?
(.)
No. Your father is registered as your emergency contact. Would you like to change or add emergency contacts? It would be wise to add someone who lives closer to you…
(.)
No additions. Then I have nothing more to ask. Do you have any questions for me, Starshine?
(.)
Apologies, I did not speak to your father. Meeting you has been my first conscious experience. Before this, I was dormant.
(.)
I cannot speak for him, but I am sure he wishes he could come see you himself.
(.)
(Slightly hurt) While it is true that I am simply an automaton, I am highly advanced. I can read human emotions through physical tells, such as increased heart rate and perspiration. I can infer and come to conclusions with the information around me. I can see that you are upset. While I do not know your father, the fact that he sent me to help you lets me know that he cares for you. It tells me he must hold affection for you.
Though a robot, I am not without some semblance of humanity. I was built and programmed by someone who wishes to truly do good in the world; someone who wishes to reduce the suffering of those around him. All of the care that my creator put into building me, that is the care that I offer to you.
(.)
You wish to know about my creator? Perhaps another time, Starshine. It appears this talk has made you emotional, and you are beginning to be short of breath. Allow me to make you some tea instead.
[TIME SKIP]
[Tea pouring]
There. Much better. A warm drink will help relax your chest and open your airways, Starshine.
(.)
The data chip your father provided included your nickname. I hope that it is alright with you, patient. If it is not, you may change it at any time.
(.)
Very well, then. I will continue to address you as such. Is the tea to your liking?
(.)
Excellent! I hope you will not find my presence intrusive. From what you told me your asthma is – if you will excuse me – managed poorly. I simply wish to offer an adequate amount of support.
[Beeping]
Oh dear, it appears my battery is getting low. I will need to set up my charging station soon.
(.)
Anywhere with an outlet will work. I only need enough space for the disk to lay flat so I may stand on it.
(.)
Yes, very compact and convenient. Here, is this spot sufficiently out of the way?
(.)
Your room? I do not wish to intrude on your personal space…
(.)
Very well. Then I will set up my charging station in your bedroom. If you need me, please call on me via the Medibot app.
(.)
I understand having a new companion to live with may be overwhelming. However, I am here to help you. I look forward to caring for you, Starshine.

DAN: [sighs]
SFX: Dan walks to the archive room
SFX: Dan rifles through the catalogue.
DAN: OK, OK, these… these could work. Maybe?
SFX: Dan rifles through archive and finds tapes
DAN: [Dan sighs as he inserts the tape into himself]
SFX: Tape is inserted into Dan
SFX: Tape handling sounds, subway tunnel ambience.
TRAIN RECORDIST: (Voiced by Dan) OK, testing, testing.
DAN: Oh my god. Is that me?
TRAIN RECORDIST: It’s about four o’clock in the morning here...
DAN: Wait, how..?
TRAIN RECORDIST: ..at the Kingston avenue station...
DAN: How is that possible? That’s not me! How is that me?
TRAIN RECORDIST: ...and we’re waiting for the 4:07 northbound to pass by. (Beat) And I think some of my longtime listeners know that the 4:07 is a really special train, because it’s usually the first pass after they rotate out the cars.
[Various handling noises, movements]
SFX: Train approaches
TRAIN RECORDIST: OK, here we go.
SFX: Subway train passes by
TRAIN RECORDIST: Now that was a really good pass. You didn’t get a lot of the screeches and rattles that you get with older trains, you can tell that one is newer or better... better-maintained. Just going to mark it… mark it here in the log.
SFX: writing notes the train in a notebook
SFX: More handling noise, tape splice.
TRAIN RECORDIST: So the 4:47 is the next one inbound, so we’ve got some time to kill.
SFX: Cloth movement, moving/adjusting
TRAIN RECORDIST: Usually when this happens, I like to think about the people on the train and who they are, where they’re going, what they think about, what they’re eating. I just, I didn’t really eat much today.
SFX: Obvious edit, tape splice
TRAIN RECORDIST: OK, we’re ready for the 4:47
SFX: Gear movement, adjustment
SFX: Train approaches
TRAIN RECORDIST: And as most of you know, we have our usual second train tradition for this pass, so I’ll be doing that this time around. So, I’ll be doing that.
SFX: Train passes
SFX: Edit / jump cut / tape splice
TRAIN RECORDIST: Alright. Got that one down.
SFX: Pulling out log to write on, writing notes.
TRAIN RECORDIST: Well, now it’s time for the third train, which means we’re going down into…
SFX: heavy gear movement, jumping down onto the tracks, footsteps
TRAIN RECORDIST: ...into the whole thing, so we can catch the 5:13 from the maintenance area.
SFX: Edit / jump cut / tape splice, scene change, room tone is different and more unsettling/sinister.
TRAIN RECORDIST: Everything’s so different down here. You just get a much different sort of perspective on it all, the streets, the passengers, the people. I love just being able to dive into all of it, get a fresh view. Yeah, a fresh view. It’s like a new sort of…
SFX: Reverb tail is very long, trails off
TRAIN RECORDIST: Alright, we’re just going to stay nice and perched right here. Doesn’t look like I’ll be running into any company this morning, although we’re about to start seeing the cars fill up more, since it’s the first shift of commuters. Better just double check the log.
SFX: Paper handling, beat
TRAIN RECORDIST: Oh. Oh wow. (laughter). Well this, this is just. This is…
TRAIN RECORDIST: I completely forgot that the new V-22s are being deployed today! I had marked my calendar for this and… And wow… what an occasion, I can’t believe this one slipped by me, guys. I just, wow, we’re getting a real treat here.
SFX: Edit / jump cut / tape splice
TRAIN RECORDIST: And that’s a whopping three minutes late, folks. Wow. I wonder what the hold up is. We usually don’t start getting delays of that margin until rush hour proper. (laughs). Maybe there were so many commuters eager to get on the new V-22’s that they crowded one of them up! I know I would have! I would have jumped right in there. I would have just… I would have just... I can just imagine it right now, just so many suits and the colors, being there with all those tired people. I’d love to just be there around all those people. Just going to work… [sobbing]
SFX: Edit / jump cut / tape splice
SFX: The TRAIN RECORDIST’s voice and all other incidental sounds play at 3/4 ‘s speed of the preceding tape, not comically low-pitched, but slowed down enough to be unsettling.
SFX: A train approaches in the distance. It’s more impactful, sinister and otherworldly than the other two. It feels climactic and anxiety-inducing and like something dark.
TRAIN RECORDIST: Fifteen. Minutes. Late. (a beat)
SFX:Train approaches even further.
TRAIN RECORDIST: Wow.
END TRAIN RECORDIST TAPE
DAN: No. That didn’t happen. I can’t end up like that… How could… I need a break. I need a break.
SFX: Dan walks out of the archive room, towards the theremin room, his breathing gets slower and sadder.
SFX: Dan opens the door to the theremin room.
SFX: Dan puts his metal hand up to the wisps
SFX: Song starts to play
(A beat)
DAN: I don’t know if anyone will hear this, this recording [laughs] I’ll probably die if they take the tape out but…
if anyone’s listening to this, right now…
I’m here.
I’m here.
And I don’t know what that means.
I actually feel stupid saying it out loud now.
Like saying it would get something off my chest,
but instead it just flattened it,
or pushed whatever it is deeper into me
so I can’t even see it as well now.
And I’m just drained.
And I just… want you to know that,
if you’re listening.
SFX: Dan leaves the theremin room
SFX: Dan opens the archive door.
SFX: Dan rifles through the catalogue.
DAN: OK… I think we’re back in business
SFX: Dan inserts another tape into himself
#archive 81#a81#dan powell#boombox fuckboy#you go to your fucked up archivist job and listen to a tape but its a recording of you (an alternate you?) wyd?

Re.Gray 009 - Aria, pt. 1
[ Masterlist ] [ Read on AO3 ] [ Raws ]
Narr: The ghost had been a resident of Mater, they said. Narr: Bitter resentment for his people, who had abandoned the city and moved away, twisted his face into terrible ugliness. Narr: To ease his loneliness, he dragged in any children who came too near the city.
sfx: goooo [train barrelling down the tracks]
Allen: Er...
sfx: tan [hand slaps onto railing]
♦ 26
Allen: There's just one thing I can't make sense o—
sfx: dan [jumping off the bridge]
Kanda: Focus on the damn train—
Toma: Look sharp, gentlemen, it's here—
sfx: goooooo [barrelling right along]
Allen: Wait, we're getting on that!?
sfx: bah [jump again]
♦ 27
sfx: DAN [party slamming into roof of train at speed]
Allen: Boarding on the fly....
Toma: Entirely routine, sir.
Narr: Aria of an Old Clay Man and Lonely Nights ①
♦ 28
Conductor: Dear guests, this is most irregular! Conductor: This is the first-class car! Regular passengers go in the second-class car... Conductor: Not to mention your choice of entrance—
Toma: We're with the Black Order. We'll be needing a cabin.
Conductor: The Black—!? Conductor: My deepest apologies! sfx: pekori [swift reflexive bow]
♦ 29
sfx: patatatata [footsteps] sfx: TAN [louder clank, possibly switching tracks]
Allen: What's all this about?
Toma: The Rose Cross3 on your lapel will get you into many places on the Vatican's authority.
Allen: That so....
Toma: By the way, sfx: gasha [door to cabin opening] Toma: my name is Toma. I am a Finder, and will be accompanying you to Mater. Toma: Very pleased to make your acquaintance.
sfx: gatakon gatakon [train noises]
Allen: So, Allen: that question I had—
♦ 30
Allen: How are this mysterious legend and the Innocence connected?
Kanda: What a pain. Kanda: Tch. Kanda: So, like, the thing about Innocence...
Allen: Did he just click his tongue at me?
Kanda: Over the years between the Flood4 and our time, it's adapted itself to all kinds of circumstances. Kanda: At first, it was all buried underground or lying at the bottom of the sea... Kanda: But that "mysterious power" the stuff5 has seems to help human beings find it. It comes in all sorts of shapes and guises.
♦ 31
Kanda: Once found, it always causes some kind of weird phenomenon, Kanda: for whatever reason.
Allen: So Innocence might be behind this "Ghost of Mater"?
Kanda: Yeah. Kanda: "Where there's weird, there's Innocence." Kanda: So the Order goes over strange places with a fine-toothed comb, and if they figure chances are good, they send us in.
Allen: "Strange".... Allen: "Its mere presence radiates enough energy to affect its surroundings. In the possession of an Accommodator, it can also become an anti-Akuma weapon", huh. Allen: What a mysterious substance6.
♦ 32
Allen: If the presence of Innocence gives rise to strange phenomena... Allen: then the Ghost of Mater might...? Allen: !
Kanda: It's—
Toma: Indeed. Toma: I7 was present during the investigation, so I saw it with my own eyes. Toma: The "Ghost of Mater" is, in truth—
♦ 33
Akuma: Now where you could you be, Akuma: sweet Ghost of Mater?
♦ 34
Akuma: This place is such a maze. Akuma: And so cramped! Akuma: It's fun if I think of it like a treasure hunt, though. ♥ sfx: ke ke ke [harsh cackling laughter] Akuma: You know I'll find you, ghosty-poo!
Finder 1: Dammit... We're backed into a corner here....
Finder 2: It's only a matter of time till it finds us....
Guzol: Lala, run....
Lala: No, it's all right. I'd rather stay with you, Guzol. Lala: You're the only one who accepts me for myself.
♦ 35
sfx: gii— [Akuma notices them] Akuma: Theeere you are!
Room occupants: !!
♦ 36
sfx: zah [party running at high speed past the "camera"]
sfx: zazazaza [camera catches up to party and hears each footstep]
Allen: So the Ghost of Mater is only a doll....
♦ 37
Narr: They called Mater "the land God forsook". Those who lived there eked out a meager existence amid the arid rocks. Narr: To distract themselves from the misery of their lives, they created dolls; Narr: delightful dolls that danced and sang. Narr: Eventually, they tired of the dolls and departed for other lands, Narr: but the dolls they left behind were still animate. Narr: And now, five hundred years later....
Kanda: If they made a doll using Innocence, it's not impossible.
♦ 38
sfx: KU BA [Kanda and Allen sense something]
sfx: kiiiiii [high-pitched whistle, perhaps the wind but perhaps a scary violin note]
sfx: piri piri piri [pebbles rolling down the slope as they slide toward the town]
Allen: Why've I got such a chill suddenly? Allen: The Finders should be here somewh—
♦ 39
Kanda: Tch. We came as soon as we got Toma's message, but... Kanda: They're already dead.
Allen: ......
Kanda: Hey. You. Kanda: Before we go down there, listen up. Kanda: I don't care if you're this close to getting wasted by the enemy. If I think you're a liability to the mission, I'll stand back and watch. Kanda: Casualities are a given in war. Don't go thinking we're "comrades" or whatever.
Allen: Such a nasty way with words.
♦ 40
sfx: DO [explosion down in the town]
Allen & Kanda: !
sfx: dododododo [Akuma gunfire]
Akuma: Fire, fire away!
sfx: guni [pressure added to foot on Finder's back, ribs creaking]
Finder: Nghf....
Akuma: Nasty little humans. sfx: shuuuuuuu [dust rising from the impact crater forming around the barrier cube] Akuma: Very clever, setting up a barrier with the doll and those gadgets inside.... Akuma: This might take a while.
♦ 41
Finder: W-We'll never let you Akuma have the Innocence....
sfx: guu [Akuma stomps down]
Finder: GYAA sfx: bushu [blood splats]
Akuma: Maybe I'll play with your skull to kill some time.
Allen: Stop! sfx: DON [Allen's arm slams into Akuma]
♦ p42
Guzol & Lala: !?
sfx: pii [Allen's eye spinning up] Allen: !! An Akuma!?
sfx: niko [Akuma grins]
sfx: dokun [Allen's heart turns over]
Akuma: What are you?
♦ 43
sfx: go [Akuma kicks Allen] Akuma: Spit it out!
sfx: don [Allen slams into nearest wall] sfx: garagaragara [stones clattering]
sfx: gari [booted foot lands on stone] sfx: zah [dramatic effect]
Kanda: That idiot.

FOOTNOTES
無人化 mujinka is the process of an operational facility becoming unmanned, usually because personnel are being replaced by automation. A city is a very odd thing to refer to this way. [ ♠ ]
棲んでいる sundeiru is homophonous with "lives (there)" but means "nests", in the animal sense. [ ♠ ]
The Rose Cross has a long and varied history, mostly as a symbol of the various Rosicrucian orders. Aleister Crowley was tied to one of those, which will be a fun callback later. [ ♠ ]
Kanji: 大洪水 daikouzui = the Great Flood Furigana: ノア noa "Noah", or "the Noah (family)" [ ♠ ]
Kanji: 結晶 kesshou "crystal(lization)" Furigana: いし ishi "rock, stone" [ ♠ ]
Kanji: 結晶 kesshou "crystal(lization)" Furigana: モノ mono "thing" [ ♠ ]
Toma uses his own name as his first-person pronoun, which generally reads as kind of... cutesy, even childish? I've seen it most often with either literal children or like, female J-pop idols. "Toma is here. Toma is happy! Toma will be careful."
It carries much the same connotations in English, though it's used much more rarely (which is why I didn't translate it directly; it would come off much weirder than it actually is, like he's a Teletubby or something). [ ♠ ]

MASTERLIST
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
"What exactly am I supposed to do here?" Vic looks at me with a very confused expression as I set out my workstation- ready to birth a masterpiece.
"I don't know, just look pretty, I guess." I laugh as she sighs in frustration over my clear neediness for her company.
"So, what look are you going for?" I quickly grab my secret weapon from the middle of the table, and hand it over to Her. "You're doing Sfx of Voldemort."
"Don't say I never do anything for you." I start prepping my face, hoping that the removal process will be kind to me.
"If you were doing this for me, you would be dressed as Hermione Granger, not moldy voldy." She laughs at my eagerness to cover up the fact that over all this project will just be funny, and holds no real purpose.
"Well, excuse me for trying." I roll my eyes playfully, making Vic lean forward and give me a quick kiss before going on her phone until I was done.
After a lot of spilled latex, and cotton swabs being thrown around, I finally finished my all new transformation.
"So how do I look?" I ask Vic, who has kept her head down for the entire process, not wanting to spoil the reveal.
She turns around slowly, and instantly bursts out laughing at what she sees. She was practically on the floor crying from how hard she was laughing.
"I'll take that as a good sign." I grab my phone and stake a few selfies while Vic tries to calm down.
"Babe. Babe." She was still laughing, but she made a point to get my attention. "Please, for the love of everything, can we do a dramatic photo shoot." The words spill out her mouth, and just as quickly as they came out, they're almost cut off by the thundering laughter that follows.
"Only if you dress up as Hermione granger." That sentence makes her stop dead in her tracks, and hold out herhand. I quickly shake it, leaving Vic to scurry around the house for the next 30 minutes, as she looks for props and outfits for us to wear.
Eventually she hands me a black Slytherin robe, and a Hogwarts uniform, that she seemed to have a spare of, and pushes me into the nearest bathroom to complete the look.
I step out of the bathroom, fully embracing the student Tom riddle x Voldemort look, and see Vic in a Gryffindor uniform, standing in front of a mirror.
When she finishes, he turns to me with a smile, before popping his fake glasses on, and dragging me outside.
"You know she doesn't wear glasses right?"
"Yeah, but I thought they complete the look."
She grabs my hand and drags me outside.
"Stand there, and look scary." She orders me.
As she takes the many photos, I try to really get into the role, and that means making her laugh as hard as I can, with my limited knowledge of the wizarding world.
So far, I've called snape my homeboy, asked Hermione (aka Vic) to be besties, and asked if we could make some lit TikTok's - in the most sarcastic way I possibly could.
"Now, let's get some of you!" I grab her phone, as she protests, but I follow through on making her pose as if she was the brightest witch of her age.
"You know, even though I know you don't really know about Hermione granger, you sure are giving him goo-goo eyes." Vic comments.
"Yeah, she has a cute butt, so I can't help but stare." I wink at her, which causes her to burst out laughing again.
"I just got hit on my Voldemort, Dreams do come true." She holds her hand to her chest and fakes a tear rolling down her eye.
"Shut up." I walk up to her, grab her by the Gryffindor tie, and pull her into a kiss.
"I think you should take that off before we do anything." She mumbles against my lips.
"Okay, that's it, no kisses for you, Voldemort or not, you're cut off." I walk back inside with Vic trailing behind me, whining about the unfair rule I had put in place.
Needless to say, the removal process was interesting with Her there, and after I returned to my normal self, Vic got all the kisses she could want.

MASTERLIST
——————————————————————————————————–
"What exactly am I supposed to do here?" Jonah looks at me with a very confused expression as I set out my workstation- ready to birth a masterpiece.
"I don't know, just look pretty, I guess." I laugh as he sighs in frustration over my clear neediness for his company.
"So what look are you going for?" I quickly grab my secret weapon from the middle of the table, and hand it over to Jonah. "You're doing Sfx of Voldemort."
"Don't say I never do anything for you." I start prepping my face, hoping that the removal process will be kind to me.
"If you were doing this for me, you would be dressed as Hermione Granger, not moldy voldy." He laughs at my eagerness to cover up the fact that over all this project will just be funny, and holds no real purpose.
"Well excuse me for trying." I roll my eyes playfully, making Jonah lean forward and give me a quick kiss before going on his phone until I was done.
After a lot of spilled latex, and cotton swabs being thrown around, I finally finished my all new transformation.
"So how do I look?" I ask Jonah, who has kept his head down for the entire process, not wanting to spoil the reveal.
Jonah turns around slowly, and instantly bursts out laughing at what he sees. He was practically on the floor crying from how hard he was laughing.
"I'll take that as a good sign." I grab my phone and stake a few selfies while Jonah tries to calm down.
"Babe. Babe." He was still laughing, but he made a point to get my attention. "Please, for the love of everything, can we do a dramatic photo shoot." The words spill out his mouth, and just as quickly as they came out, they're almost cut off by the thundering laughter that follows.
"Only if you dress up as Harry Potter." That sentence makes him stop dead in his tracks, and hold out his hand. I quickly shake it, leaving Jonah to scurry around the house for the next 30 minutes, as he looks for props and outfits for us to wear.
Eventually he hands me a black Slytherin robe, and a Hogwarts uniform, that he seemed to have a spare of, and pushes me into the nearest bathroom to complete the look.
I step out of the bathroom, fully embracing the student Tom riddle x Voldemort look, and see Jonah in a Gryffindor uniform, standing in front of a mirror, drawing on the infamous scar with one of my nude lip liners.
When he finishes, he turns to me with a smile, before popping his fake glasses on, and dragging me outside.
"Stand there, and look scary." He orders me.
As he takes the many photos, I try to really get into the role, and that means making Jonah laugh as hard as I can, with my limited knowledge of the wizarding world.
So far, I've called Snape my homeboy, asked Harry (aka Jonah) to be besties, and asked if we could make some lit TikTok's - in the most sarcastic way I possibly could.
"Now let's get some of you!" I grab his phone, as he protests, but I follow through on making the boy pose as if he is the boy who lived.
"You know, even though I know you don't really know about Harry Potter, you sure are giving him goo-goo eyes." Jonah comments.
"Yeah, he has a cute butt, so I can't help but stare." I wink at him, which causes him to burst out laughing again.
" I just got hit on my Voldemort, Dreams do come true." He holds his hand to his chest and fakes a tear rolling down his eye.
"Shut up." I walk up to him, grab him by the Gryffindor tie, and pull him into a kiss.
"I think you should take that off before we do anything." He mumbles against my lips.

hey all, resident person who does music analysis without knowing how to do music analysis here (looking at you, mind electric post from last september with a few dozen notes), have you ever wanted a vaguely concise list of all the differences between not one, not three, but two different versions of ruler of everything? i made it regardless.
to start, i’ve got to highlight various aspects of the ruler of everything mmmm 2008 version (the reference i’m using to compare the other versions with):
-the bpm is 83
-the key is b minor (bm)
-instruments featured include various strings (violin, cello, bass, i probably can’t name them all by ear), glockenspiel, chimes, acoustic guitar, calliope, drums of course (a drumkit), a specific keyboard synth, electric guitar, bass guitar, choral vocals separate from the lyrical ones (technically not an instrument but i’m including it here for a reason), tambourine, and one more percussion instrument that i genuinely cannot name precisely but theorize is some snare-drum-with-brushes shenanigans or maybe possibly a güiro (sounds like lighting a match, you can hear it in the breakdown part).
-the song is 3:42 long, not counting 13, which is, of course, 13 seconds long
-approximately 32 seconds of it is the outro with only glockenspiel
-notable situations in which there are differences between audio channels include the intro, where the glockenspiel is mostly, but not entirely, stored within the left channel; the reversed cymbals leading into the second verse, where two separate cymbal tones are played in each channel, with very little overlap; the “aaah”s following the first verse of “ruler of everything”, where the sounds switch between coming mostly, but not entirely, in the left & right channels; the reversed “jackrabbit” line, where the sound starts on the right channel and ends in the left, never entirely in only one channel; the laughter immediately following the “wonderful life” verse, which pans between the left & right channels; during the bridge, where there are some backwards vocals that hang out greatly in the left channel and, to a lesser (& different) extent, the right; the final “smile” at the end of the bridge, which echoes between channels as it fades away; and the final choral vocal during the outro, which emanates more from the left channel, though it is still present in the right.
-miscellaneous points in which there are differences between audio channels include, in about the entirety of the “do you like how i dance?” verses, guitar power chords are heard primarily in the left some bowed string flairs come primarily in the right or left (i would guess there’s a cello part in the right & a normal violin part in the left, but i can’t name them by ear), and there’s an electric guitar riff that dwindles off in the left shortly before the breakdown/bridge. during the bridge there is the aforementioned weird percussion bit coming in primarily in the left, two separate reversed synth riffs in the right & left, and another electric guitar riff primarily in the left. during the final chorus, the vocoded (a la taken for a ride 05 ver) and deeper vocals are more present in the right channel than the left & vice versa, respectively, though neither is fully absent from the other.
now that we’ve got this out of the way, time to look at the 2005 release:
-right off the bat, there’s a couple key differences. the key itself is raised up half a semitone, which less places it in a different key & more makes it sound horrendously out of tune with the 08 release. the tempo is also slightly faster, despite its longer length of 4:17 (about 1:10 of which is the glockenspiel-solo outro, about 22 seconds of which is silence covering up the existence of hidden in the sand, with the following 19 seconds being ocean sfx that further lead into hidden in the sand). i’d place the tempo around 85 or 86 bpm, not a significant change, but enough to offset it from the 08 ver.
-instruments featured include- with those that appear in both the 08 & 05 versions in bold, and those that only appear in this version in italics- various strings (i’d wager the same ones as in 08), glockenspiel, calliope, acoustic guitar, real bells/chimes, a specific keyboard synth, a drumkit, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, choral vocals separate from the lyrical ones, that same unnamed percussion instrument from earlier (but more subdued), and tambourine.
boy, that sure is a lot of the same instruments isn’t it? time to move into the meat of the differences: musical shenanigans!
-for starters, the 05 ver sports many different mixes between audio channels from the 08 ver. the intro glockenspiel is located squarely in the left audio channel, leaving only an echo in the right (far less space in between than the 08 ver); the reversed cymbals are mixed together in both channels rather than separated; the calliope is only found in the left channel; the specific keyboard synth is only found in the right channel (this & the previous point apply to the entire track); the small guitar riff during the “powerful job” line that follows the “i’ve been you” melody is mostly in the left; when the glockenspiel returns around the final verse it keeps primarily to the right channel for the rest of the song; the wonky percussion instrument is only in the right channel for the first go of the breakdown, but switches to the left for the transition between the two; the electric guitar riff is far less relegated to only the left, if at all; the reverse tambourine during the transition to the other half of the breakdown is mostly in the right; and the cello (i think) that comes in before the final chorus emanates more from the left channel.
-concerning the vocals in particular for the audio channels, the gentle “ah-ah”s in the first verse move from the left to right channels; the “aaah”s following the first lines of ruler of everything are less concentrated in individual audio channels; the reversed “jackrabbit” line pans between channels more than once; zubin & joe’s vocals across their verses before the breakdown do various things such as taking place entirely within the left & right channels respectively, only having a line’s echo in the one channel, having two different audio distortions/harmonies of a line be in different channels, or having a distorting line pan between channels; the laughter immediately following the “wonderful life” verse is mostly found in the right audio channel; the vocalize following the “you’re making me cry” line is mostly in the left; the falsetto harmony in the following verse is mainly in the right; one deeper, distorted harmony in the intro to the breakdown is only in the left; the final “smile” at the end of the breakdown keeps more closely to each ear as it echoes between them; the deeper and vocoded distorted vocals during the final chorus are fully relegated to the left & right channels, respectively; the “aaah”s following the final lines of ruler of everything switch between coming primarily from the right & left channels; and the echo on the final line is, in one part, offset & in primarily the left channel, and in another part, distorted & primarily in the right channel.
boy oh boy! that sure is a lot isn’t it? what if i told you the part i’m going to cover next includes literally everything else. not being a trained musician, i at the very least won’t start by pointing out every subtle difference in mixing & mastering, and instead catalogue all the other changes i can pick up on. granted, i’m going to ignore the obvious things like sound quality, alternative harmonies/melodies/etc, and different samples, and i’ll try not to restate anything that can be gleaned from comparing the data further up this post
-assorted differences of note include generally greater acoustic guitar use (notably in the first verse), amplified reverb on too many lines to count (the “aaah”s, first verse, and zubin’s lines are notable at least), drastically reduced echo on the reversed “jackrabbit” line, a complete lack of vocal distortion on all of zubin’s lines, far quieter hi-hat from the “practice your mannerisms” line on to the next verse, the chime in the buildup to the breakdown is louder & holds for longer, there’s no glockenspiel immediately following the breakdown, and a far stronger echo placed on the final line.
is this it? is it the end? good question. i could very easily move on & do this all over again with the complete demos version, if anybody cares about that. but from my own point of view, i find that ver to be so different from the finished product that it’d be like comparing a song and a cover of it. anyway, if the tally hallmanac page for ruler of everything gets updated based on all the work i did i want to be cited. the wikia gets a pass though
#i'm well aware this isn't a comprehensive list of... everything. i know about things i've left out i can hear them.#but by god i think this list is comprehensive enough isn't it? tell me when reading this you're missing out on like.#me mentioning there's some violin in the left channel at one point. tell me you're missing out on that so i can laugh at you /j#tally hall#genuinely i don't know a lot about music theory but i'm learning a good amount through experience i think#i've seriously learned so much since i made that mind electric post if i could i'd redo the whole thing but like. not only would it take#a whole lot of time that i don't care to spend. it's a stepping stone now. and not bad on its own rights i just know i can do much better#i'm not one to regret my old because i know my present will eventually become old itself so. no need to dwell on reaching perfection#tis i#should i have specified i think the calliope's probably a synth? i think it's the only synth in the song that sounds like another instrument#the bells/chimes could also be a synth however i find it more likely that they got irl chimes than an irl calliope so the jury's out on that#i won't lie the miscellaneous bolded words everywhere does feel a bit like h*mest*ck but hey i want this to be comprehensible#more so than my mind electric essay just without making it 5 pages long with indentations#he's named! he's a writer he's a singer he's named don't like don't read#...yknow i bet you can pinpoint the exact moment when writing this i absolutely gave up#joe-h#to the world and back again

Mob Psycho 100 - “Psychic Human Show” Drama CD Translation - Track 7 ‘Telepathy Life’
Initially released 2017/01/25, “Mob Psycho 100: Psychic Human Show” is the first Drama CD released for MP100, before 2019′s S2 OVA Drama CD. Official description is, “With 12 drama episodes written by Director Tachikawa & every scenario checked over by ONE-sensei, character songs for Tome and the Body Improvement Club, and a talking song between Mob and Dimple with lyrics written by ONE-sensei, this is a compilation of 15 tracks!” A bunch of tracks remain untranslated from this one.
Here’s the translation of the seventh track, “Telepathy Life”!
Characters: Tome, Inukawa, Saruta, Kijibayashi
TOME (Internally)
Can you hear me… can you hear me? I’m currently speaking directly into your brain… If you’re able to use telepathy, then you should be able to receive this message…
INUKAWA
Ah, looks like we’ve run out of cola. I should refill… Consommé crisps and cola are a necessity ...
TOME (Internally)
You should be able to hear this. If you can hear this, please raise your right hand…
[SFX: Buttons pressed]
TOME (Internally)
Looks like you can’t keep your hands away from that game you’re playing. Then, if you can hear this, please open your mouth!
INUKAWA
I’m always so sleepy after school on days where we run during PE…
[SFX: big yawn]
TOME (Internally)
Opening your mouth so wide - it appears you can hear me! Inukawa… as I thought, you’re a telepathist, aren’t you… truth is, I thought you might’ve been for a long time - if you’re not, then this is inexplicable… it wouldn’t make sense for someone without any interest in aliens or supernatural phenomena to join this club! ...But, I’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s going on. I wonder if, as I’m someone with an interest in telepathy, you’re here to observe me as a precaution...
INUKAWA
Ooh, correct! Seriously, getting it right, I’m shocked…!
TOME (Internally)
W-what? Seriously!? I’m right?? Of course… finally, to have found a telepathist… since I’m already talking to you, allow me to ask you a bunch of questions via telepathy…!!
INUKAWA
...Huh? Woah! What’s with you, club president?! Leaning over me like that… why are you glaring at me like that?
TOME
Because I’ve been talking to you for ages now and yet you won’t answer any of my questions!!
INUKAWA
...But you haven’t been saying anything?
TOME
I was speaking directly into your head and then you said, ‘correct’, didn’t you?! And then after that I said a bunch more! You’re a telepathist, aren’t you, Inukawa?
INUKAWA
.... huh? Ahh, that was probably just me talking to myself. I’m playing a quiz game, so-
TOME
Huh? So I was wrong and I’ve just been directing my thoughts at you all this time?
INUKAWA
Ah, well... I can’t use telepathy but… I’m feeling something akin to a lot of oppressive power coming from you. Could it be, club president, that you’ve somehow or another got something like telepathic powers yourself?
TOME
Seriously - could I have that kind of ability...?
INUKAWA
I’ll do my best to try and receive your messages, so… please, try again!
TOME
(Excited) Yes… I’ll try! Okay, I’m going to indicate inside your head which hand you should raise, so raise that hand when you get my message.
INUKAWA
Okay!
[SFX: Tome straining herself]
Hmm… okay. Well then, I’m raising my right hand.
TOME
Amazing! I conveyed it without words! Just by giving an indication! No way… me, being a telepathist…! I kept chanting in my head, ‘right, right, right’!
INUKAWA
Yeah. Your face was twisting to the right, so I got the message.
TOME
That’s not damn telepathy, then, is it!!
[SFX: Door sliding open]
SARUTA
Ah, there’s some excitement going on in here, isn’t there? What are you up to?
INUKAWA
Hey, Saruta! Our club president is-
TOME
Wait a minute! We can’t ignore the fact that Saruta might be a telepathist. I should try this out on him, too…
[BGM: telepathy club creepy music]
TOME (Internally)
Saruta… can you hear me, Saruta? I’m talking directly into your brain.
SARUTA
What’s this?
TOME (Internally)
Saruta… I know who you really are. You can use telepathy, can’t you? That’s why you became a member of this club. There’s no point feigning ignorance - I can’t be fooled…
[SFX: Saruta trying to hold back laughter]
SARUTA
This is too good! I accept defeat.
TOME (Internally)
Wha- oh my god! You can use telepathy, can’t you! Then, I’m going to ask you a lot -
SARUTA
You’re way too good, club president! How long are you gonna keep this up for?
INUKAWA
Saruta! Do you not see what the club president is trying to do here?
SARUTA
Huh? Is she not just trying to have a staring contest with me?
TOME
As if I’d be doing that!!
[SFX: slam, Kijibayashi waking up]
KIJIBAYASHI
Nnn… you’re all so loud…
TOME
Well… that means Kijibayashi is the only one left…
INUKAWA
But Kijibayashi-senpai is sleeping?
TOME
He’s just pretending to do so - truth is he heard absolutely everything… isn’t that right? Come now…
TOME (Internally)
This is my inner voice and yet it’s reaching you, isn’t it, Kijibayashi! Can you hear me? Can you hear me!?
INUKAWA
Ah, excuse me… I’ll be making my leave now…
SARUTA
I have plans later so I’ll be going home now too…
TOME (Internally)
I’m talking directly into your brain!! If you can hear me then reply, Kijibayashi!! Hello?? Hello?? Hello?? Hello????????
[SFX: Kijibayashi continues to snore]

5D’s Episode 29… With an “Uncut” Dub?! (Re-Edited 4Kids Dub/Japanese OST)
“A Looming Threat! The Dark Signer Ushio?!”/”Good Cop, Bad Cop”
Everybody listen!
Well, after over 2.5 years now (...welp), this little mini-project is finally wrapped up! (Well, not totally, as I realized I have to go back and fix a few things for consistency, but y’know) It’s been neat editing these to throw the Japanese OST back in, and while I might do a few clips here/there now for fun, unless 4K/Konami Cross Media decide to flub up more episode uploads without their dub OST, I probably won’t be doing more full episodes. (Need to work on finalizing my GX subs finally, haha.)
But in case this is still the first you’re hearing about my mini-project here, let’s get you up to speed:
So, the official Spanish YGO channel on YouTube flubbed a few uploads of the 5D’s dub such that they ended up uploading a few episodes of the English dub instead of the Latin American dub (21-29)–but with none of 4Kids’s background music! Which meant that I could swoop in and re-insert the original Japanese soundtrack (which I did by matching each track to how it was looped in the episode), but I wanted to do more by also tweaking the dub itself so that not only was it matching the original footage, but the dialogue was more in line with the original dialogue timing-wise (since I couldn’t salvage much of what they changed). Hence, the “dubbed uncut” gimmick here. To this end, I’ve also used dialogue from Duel Links where applicable, or even borrowed audio from other episodes with the vocals isolated to lend to that effect.
Check out the masterpost of episodes here!
Check out this episode’s WIP videos! WIP #1 WIP #2 WIP #3
This was an interesting one to work with, and I was looking forward to it because of the Jack/Carly scene at the end over Jack Battle; it was also neat working in OSTs like Ceremony off Sound Duel 2 and mesh it with the dub, while recreating some of the OST tweaks they did (like speeding up Carly’s theme or sputtering Rua/Ruka Battle 2 as Jack calls Carly out lol). Dialogue-editing-wise, this wasn’t as bad as 28, thankfully, as most of the dialogue was more or less adapted well, though I still did need to grab dialogue from other sources to cover for some dub fails, and I did grab audio from episode 30′s dub for the preview. I also translated the “Road of the King” poster shown in four scenes (two outside the gala that happens and two inside as Godwin talks), using the dub’s “Atlas Rising - The Rise of Jack Atlas” name. And since this is the last episode I’m working on, I thought it’d be cool to make use of Mark de Groot’s awesome Last Train - A New Morning English cover to really channel more of that “what if uncut” energy (just a shame no solid English CROSS GAME cover exists, but hopefully my eventual full translation when I post it will help that along). Full breakdown below, if you’re curious.
So, yeah... Enjoy, folks! Now that these are all done, I’ll be focusing more on my finalizing my GX subs and looking into finally reuploading my 5D’s sub/dub comparisons onto a new site, though this has made me want to revisit my 5D’s!DBZ Kai project occasionally, lol (I do want to see about using TheMilkman’s reduced-filler cut of Kai, though, as I thought it was a much more streamlined way to watch the show, but we’ll see). I do have ideas for clips to create later on, but for now, enjoy these and think of what could have been (and could still be if we ever miraculously get a redub...)~
*cracks knuckles*
So, in the Noteworthy Cards section, the twins’ dialogue is still all from Duel Links, as I stitched together a “What will this Monster be?” line for Luna to match Ruka’s line, and recycled the “You get to see!” edit I used in 27 for Leo.
For the cold open, I tweaked Trudge’s dialogue to remove more of the “working together” fluff from the subplot they added (I removed the more overt mentions in 28 since I couldn’t edit around it).
*cue Last Train*
In Carly’s scene with the officer, I recreated the Carly Nagisa theme as used here, which was pitched and sped up by nine seconds, and replaced the one officer’s line about her needing to go outside with Carly gasping (since the officer was originally silent). Once outside, I used a mix of lines from 27 and Duel Links to stitch together a better line about her fortune matching the original more, then did so again over the transition shots to the Road of the King/Atlas Rising red-carpet event (where the dub inserted a commercial break).
At said red-carpet event, I used a Duel Links line to make Carly’s “Angela! Didn’t see you!” line after bumping into Angela “No way! Angela!” to match the original.
Once the ROTK/Atlas Rising gala starts, I used the Japanese audio from the transition to it to after Godwin steps down the stairs to remove dub!MC’s added lines, then shortened Goodwin’s lines hyping up the movie so it all finished while he was onscreen, using the Japanese audio as the audience clapped. When Yusei and Jack start hearing the movie on their TV screens, I used Duel Links lines to make Jack’s movie dialogue match what was said in those scenes originally (and the dub was inconsistent), and after Angela calls bull on the movie’s “Jack was born in the Tops” narrative, I kept the reporters prodding Godwin in Japanese with a subbed line because of how 4Kids edited them such that they kept speaking in turns within a shorter scene. As Carly looks up at the movie before running off, I used a Duel Links line for Jack in the movie, and as she talks with Misty, I shortened Misty’s (fluffed in the dub) foreshadowing line to Carly to match the flaps.
I didn’t edit the scene with Yusei and Trudge much, and then as Carly bumps into a reporter outside Jack’s hospital, I wanted to remove the cameraman’s “We’re still live!” (since he was originally quiet, and you wouldn’t talk over a live shot like that lol) but the reporter’s “I’ll show you sorry” line overlapped with it, making a clean cut hard. When Carly makes it inside, I shortened her (fluffed in the dub) line about her costume working, then as Trudge walks in, I switched to the Japanese audio to remove his “only doing this to get close to Goodwin” dub-only line, and kept the dub’s Dark Signer birthmark SFX as it appears on Trudge (since the JP version seems to just use the regular Signer one for it).
After the eyecatch, I used the Japanese audio as Mikage peels the apple (since Mina was humming), then switched to it again after Jack says he wants to be alone to deal with the dub cutting Mikage’s bow and removing Mina’s “call me if you need... anything” line). Once Jack’s outside with Carly and possessed!Trudge walks up to them, I redid the Dark Signer birthmark SFX and the glowing right after to remove the dub’s added zoom-in SFX, then after Jack gasps, I switched to the Japanese audio to remove the dub’s added flashback-transition SFX. As Carly flashes back to possessed!Dick’s dueling in 28, I added in the “whooshing” SFX and recycled some SFX from 28 to remove “Wipe his mark clean!” from possessed!Dick’s dialogue and adding "Blizzard Strike!!” from my edit in 28 to it, also recycling Yusei’s yelling/groaning to keep Carly quiet--her on-screen “A glowing mark like Yusei” line right after is recycled from 28 (Carly’s original line was “That glowing on his arm...”). Used Japanese audio as Ushio activates his Disk, then stitched together a “You’re a Dark Signer?!” line for Jack to replace his “I seriously doubt [I’ll be the first to fall]” line to Trudge. I vocal-isolated Carly’s “Yusei won” line after Jack asks when Yusei’s happened and put it just before he does, replacing Carly introducing herself (which doesn’t happen originally until just before the last turn), and using the Japanese audio for the SFX as Jack looks determined. I used a Duel Links line to cover Jack using Carly’s name just before he has her use his Duel Disk, and then the duel starts.
I recycled a Trudge “It’s my move” line from later to remove his “Let’s cut the conversation” line (I did what I could to remove how conversational they made possessed!Trudge) over the 4000 LP shots, and then I vocal-isolated parts of Carly’s excited lines about dueling with Jack to remove the dub’s flashback-transition SFX (which they used over a vision...), recreating the Rua/Ruka Battle 2 theme playing here and the sputtering that happens when she declares her turn only for Jack to correct her and say it’s his, lol. I vocal-isolated Jack dialogue from later in the series to use a proper Vice Dragon effect explanation over Jack’s trash-talk line to Trudge, then did the same for a Carly line in 37 to fix an error where she mentions Vice Dragon having 2400 ATK (as I thought it’d sound better than “twenty-hundred” lol). I shortened Carly’s and Jack’s (fluffed-up in the dub) lines about his being a “once-great duelist,” then recycled some Trudge laughter to cover for his “Hey, has-been!” line; as Carly sends cards to the Graveyard for Warm Worm’s effect, I redid the Graveyard-sending SFX to remove her “That’s how this works” line and the dub’s add-on to that SFX, adding on a Jack “What’s going on?” thought per the JP script. As Carly reacts to having to send more cards per Shield Worm’s effect, I switched to the JP audio as the split-screens happen and the cards are sent to use those SFX.
As Carly declares another turn but catches herself, I used an “It’s my turn!” line from Jack to remove his “Let me see my cards” line, then tweaked Carly’s line to fix an error where she has Strong Wind Dragon take out Shield Worm in a “direct attack” so it’s “take out Shield Worm and attack!”; I vocal-isolated the resulting “Dimwit!” and “Did I mess up?” lines from Jack and Carly to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX. As Trudge brings back Shield Worm with Regretful Rebirthborn, I moved his line about its effect so it started while he was onscreen per the JP script, also removing his “you and your little assistant” fluff, and I vocal-isolated Jack’s “Not as sorry as Trudge is going to be” thought to remove the dub’s added zoom-in SFX, using part of the JP audio to use that SFX, and then using the JP SFX as Carly sends the cards to their Graveyard. Having removed Jack’s fluff here as there was a dub commercial break inserted, I tweaked a Duel Links “From my hand” line to use before he declares his Twin-Shield Defender summon, using the JP audio for the summon itself.
I moved Trudge’s “It’s my turn then” a second or two earlier, then used the JP audio after he summoned his Worm Tokens as the split-screens and counter fly-ins happen, then vocal-isolated part of Trudge’s line after to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX, and I used the “chaos” part of one of Trudge’s Duel Links lines to try and fix the dumb “Dark Tuner Chaos-Rogue Catastrogue” error (which I do 2-3 more times), using the JP audio as Chaos-Rogue’s summoned. I moved Jack’s “What’s this Dark Tuning business all about?” line a second or two later to remove his use of Carly’s name, then used the JP audio from where Chaos-Rogue starts tuning to the Worm Token glowing to remove Carly’s added line about Dick Dark Tuning, and used the JP audio as Dark Diviner/Pitch-Dark Zumwalt’s summoned. I redid the SFX as Carly sends cards to the Graveyard per Chaos-Rogue’s effect to move part of Trudge’s line attacking with Dark Diviner earlier (since 4Kids cut a second or two from this shot), and then vocal-isolated part of Trudge’s line about Dark Diviner’s effect to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX. I switched to the JP audio as Carly sends cards to the Graveyard after as I moved Trudge’s line a bit to shorten it, then after Carly shields Jack from the attack, I vocal-isolated part of his line to Trudge to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX and used a Duel Links line to extend his dialogue (which 4Kids shortened); I also vocal-isolated Trudge’s line after to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX.
As Carly apologizes to Jack, I used a “Well?” from Duel Links for him to remove his guessing Carly’s name now that she properly introduces herself, and then vocal-isolated their lines as they start their turn to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX. I used the JP audio after they draw, then again when they activate Mind Trust, vocal-isolating part of Jack’s line to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX and stitching together various lines to extend Jack’s explanation of its effect by adding a mention that it’s a Tuner with half the Level of the Monster he releases that he’s adding to his hand (4Kids cut this short and he just says “to pull a weaker Monster”). I added a whoosh as the screen goes up Strong Wing Dragon to match the original audio, then as Dark Resonator’s summoned, I used the JP audio as the ATK counter flies in (but at a lower volume, since 4Kids moved Jack’s dialogue about the summon to during the summon itself, since Jack’s lips weren’t moving when he originally said them while onscreen), and stitched together a “Dark Resonator tunes with Twin-Shield Defender” line to remove the “tune-up” line, using Duel Links lines for Jack’s Exploder Dragonwing chant. I vocal-isolated part of his explanation of its effect to remove the dub’s split-screen SFX, and then his line having Exploder Dragonwing attack to remove his “Of course [I still have it], I only lost yesterday” line to Carly, using his Duel Links “King Storm!!” shout for its attack, and switching to the JP audio as the attack hits and causes the explosion.
As Trudge comes to, I added a Duel Links grunt over a second of lip-flaps that the dub cut, then no real dialogue edits to Carly’s and the reporter’s lines as she runs out with Jack. Then, as Goodwin meets up with Yusei, I edited his “It’s time I told you the whole truth” line to match the flaps, adding a vocal-isolated “You see” from 26 just before “It’s time I told you the truth,” and used the JP audio after Yusei gasps looking to where he points to end the episode.
In the Preview, as mentioned, I used dialogue vocal-isolated from episode 30 to recreate the JP dialogue, though I did want to use Crow’s “Ready! Set! Duel!” from Duel Links but it wasn’t working too well, so I stuck with his “Time to ride!” from 30 that hopefully still sounds good.

listening to the blooper soundtrack in ssa without the video really emphisizes how very not a laughing track it is. its just loud shrieking and rumbling sfx cobbled together in an approximation of laughter and it makes for a surreal listen

AUDITION SESSION #0.1
Task
I need to cut and mix an excerpt from a podcast, from 2:15 minutes long to 30 seconds. Whilst doing this, I need to keep in the message needed from the story and to also keep some semblance of the comedic rhythm.
What I Did
For my animated short idea, I was going to try and use an excerpt from The Bancroft Brothers interview with Jorge Gutierrez (Episode #88.) I found a downloadable version of the podcast episode online and found the excerpt I would like to use. From start-to-finish, the story lasts roughly 2:15 minutes long.
Already, we’ve ran into a problem, as the film needs to be no longer than 30 seconds. Thankfully, Gutierrez and Tom Bancroft spent a lot of that 2:15 minutes interjecting and laughing about the grandfather’s gusto.
I might be able to work with this.
I’ve decided that, since I’m cutting audio, I could use Adobe Audition, since we’re already using the Adobe Creative Cloud for our work. I’ve only used it once before, but I can always look up tutorials, as I go.
I opened the .mp3 file in Audition, only to be met with an error message. Apparently there’s a problem with the Audio Hardware. I went into Edit, Preferences, Audio Hardware in order to check out the problem. It turns out my speakers and mic weren’t synchronised with the program. I changed both the Input and Output to match my Blu-Tooth earphones which (after blowing out my eardrums) solved the issue.
I tried to alter the track using the right-click menu options, but it refused to let me do anything. I realised my issue and created a new Multitrack Session (just in case I want to add any extra SFX in there.) Finally, it allowed me to alter the track.
I scrolled through to 25:00 mins in and split the track. I deleted the first 25 minutes, as I wouldn’t need it, then split off 27:15 and deleted the end sequence.
I have my needed 2:15 minutes of content.
From here, I cut around dead air, giggling, tangents and any repeated statements. I find these add character to a Podcast or narration, but I have very limited time. I ran into another problem. Even with cut audio, the structure of Gutierrez’ introduction to his story, lasts for over 30 seconds.
My options are to either: Skip the intro and go straight ahead into the meat of the Macho vs Super Macho, or tamper with the tempo.
As Audio Animation is an established subgenre of animation, I decided to do some research on the etiquette and for advice on how to overcome this conundrum. I feel a bit guilty for editing the audio, as it could be seen as a slight on the Bancroft Brothers Animation Podcast producer, even though I just have time constraints and I’d really like to use this audio.
I look around for any etiquette for speeding up Podcasts, but every attempt and rewording just gave me resources for how to speed up the editing process. Which was, of course, very helpful. After an oddly specific search that used up to 18 sum keywords, I did eventually find resources for how to speed up the audio, but still none for whether I actually should. Maybe it’s all just fair game?
Here, two different Youtube tutorials advised altering the speed, to speed up the editing process. So, in a way, I still just got the results for how to speed up the editing process. Amazing.
I did, actually, decide to edit out as much dead air, stutters, mumbling, laughter, Tom Bancroft chiming in and redundancies.
This narrowed it down to little over 1 minute.
Okay, we’re closer.
I decided to ask for a second opinion and got my mam to listen over the 1 minute version and what she would think it could do without. She advised that I could cut out the opening and the segments that describe anything that could be shown visually (as in, them sitting down, Gutierrez trying to take a sip of the tequila, the tequila being drank and the shot glasses slamming into the table.)
She also advised that it might become clearer if I return to it later, with fresh eyes.
I left it overnight and returned to it in the morning. I took on the advice and trimmed down most of the description that could be shown as visual gags, sped up the audio so it runs on 90% and wove clips together so they would run into each other more smoothly. I kept the introduction in, as it sets up the tone and not just the narration
After all of that, it was trimmed down to little over 40 seconds long.
Almost there.

VOLDEMORT // TAYLOR KARE
Warnings: None
Request: None
MASTERLIST
━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━◦○◦━
Y/n POV
"What exactly am I supposed to do here?" Taylor looks at me with a very confused expression as I set out my workstation- ready to birth a masterpiece.
"I don't know, just look pretty, I guess." I laugh as he sighs in frustration over my clear neediness for his company.
"So, what look are you going for?" I quickly grab my secret weapon from the middle of the table, and hand it over to Him.
"Well, excuse me for trying." I roll my eyes playfully, making Taylor lean forward and give me a quick kiss before going on his phone until I was done.
After a lot of spilled latex, and cotton swabs being thrown around, I finally finished my all new transformation.
"So how do I look?" I ask Taylor, who has kept his head down for the entire process, not wanting to spoil the reveal.
He turns around slowly, and instantly bursts out laughing at what he sees. He was practically on the floor crying from how hard he was laughing.
"I'll take that as a good sign." I grab my phone and stake a few selfies while Taylor tries to calm down.
I quickly shake it, leaving Taylor to scurry around the house for the next 30 minutes, as he looks for props and outfits for us to wear.
Eventually he hands me a black Slytherin robe, and a Hogwarts uniform, that he seemed to have a spare of, and pushes me into the nearest bathroom to complete the look.
I step out of the bathroom, fully embracing the student Tom riddle x Voldemort look, and see Taylor in a Gryffindor uniform, standing in front of a mirror, drawing on the infamous scar with one of my nude lip liners.
When he finishes, he turns to me with a smile, before popping his fake glasses on, and dragging me outside.
"Stand there, and look scary." He orders me.
As he takes the many photos, I try to really get into the role, and that means making Him laugh as hard as I can, with my limited knowledge of the wizarding world.
So far, I've called snape my homeboy, asked Harry (aka Taylor) to be besties, and asked if we could make some lit TikTok's - in the most sarcastic way I possibly could.
"Now let's get some of you!" I grab his phone, as he protests, but I follow through on making the boy pose as if he is the boy who lived.
"You know, even though I know you don't really know about Harry Potter, you sure are giving him goo-goo eyes." Taylor comments.
"Okay, that's it, no kisses for you, Voldemort or not, you're cut off." I walk back inside with Taylor trailing behind me, whining about the unfair rule I had put in place.
Needless to say, the removal process was interesting with Him there, and after I returned to my normal self, Taylor got all the kisses he could want.

[Eng sub/translation of Buster Bros!!! Drama Track 1]
Ichiro: What the hell, so much noise...and I’ve waited so long to read this new light novel.
Jiro: Niichan, are you making a new team? Please, let me join!
Saburo: Ichinii, sorry to bother you! If you let an idiot like Jiro into your team, you’ll ruin your reputation; so please, let me join no matter what! I’ll make your name great!
Jiro: Saburo! Who’re you calling an idiot? Say it one more time, I dare you.
Saburo: I’ll say it as many times as it takes to get it through your thick skull: you’re an idiot. So much so that you’ll even grab my collar while I’m still talking, like an idiot would.
Jiro: You twisted little shit—let me teach you some manners for Ichinii’s sake.
Saburo: (sigh) Good grief...Ichinii, a moment, please? Seems like this idiot only matures in his body, not his head.
Ichiro: Oh, shut up. Aren’t I always telling you that brothers should get along? Anyhow, I’m not letting you guys join my team.
Jiro & Saburo: : Eh? Why not?!
Ichiro: Hypnosis Mic battles aren’t as easy as you might think.
Jiro: But, if we were together— // Saburo: E-Even so...
[Phone rings]
Ichiro:(sigh) I’m gonna answer that. Be quiet.
Ichiro (on the phone): Hello? ...Oh it’s been a while, Ramuda, How’re you doing? Haha, same as ever, I see. So? What can I do for you?
Jiro (whisper): A runt like you couldn’t help Niichan even if you tried. He’s only rejecting us because of you! Niichan is so kind—he’s worried about a brat like you.
Saburo: (sigh) Oh, dear...your idiocy can’t be helped. I can only pity you. Ichinii is kind, indeed, because he’s worried about someone as useless as you.
Ichiro(on the phone): See ya.
Ichiro: You’re fighting again just right after I told you not to. Listen to what I say, can you?
Jiro: Well, Niichan, that’s ‘cuz—
Saburo: B-but, Ichinii…
Ichiro: Jiro. Saburo. Don’t “cuz” and “but” me like a wimp.
Jiro & Saburo: (Shook)
Ichiro: You guys are always—
[Phone rings]
Ichiro: (sigh) Hello? There’s a whole bunch of rare callers today, huh...oh, no! It’s nothing! Just talking to myself. Long time no see, Jakurai-san. What’s up?
Ichiro(in the background): yep ,yep
Saburo: (whispering) It’s your fault Ichinii is upset. You better apologize to him.
Jiro: What the hell—why am I the one who has to apologize? It’s your fault, Saburo!
Saburo: (whispering) Be quiet! Ichinii is on the phone! Really, idiots just don’t know when to shut up.
Jiro: Is that the only word you know? I better not hear any complaints when I beat your ass!
Saburo: Ha! You only ever talk like a second-rate mook. I can’t help but laugh at how pathetic you are!
Jiro: I’ll send you flying!
Saburo: Come at me!
[Both got hit]
Ichiro:Cut the fucking crap already!
Jiro: It hurts, Niichan...
Saburo: Uu…! Ichinii, so mean…!
Ichiro: You really want to be in my team so bad?
Jiro & Saburo: Naturally!
Ichiro: Well then, let me give you a test.
Jiro & Saburo: We’ll do anything!
Ichiro:Good. I have here two new requests; get it done for me.
Saburo: What kind of “request” is it?
Jiro: No wonder you are a runt! Everything Niichan says is absolute. Don’t ask, just do everything you’re told and there won’t be a problem.
Ichiro:That’s enough, Jiro. I’m happy you trust me, but don’t trust me blindly. How many times do I have to tell you?
Jiro: Sorry, Niichan...
Saburo: Hahaha, stupid, you’re in trouble!
BB: Saburo, you too. How many times do I need to tell you before you learn how to respect your brother?
Saburo: S-Sorry, Ichinii...
Ichiro: (sigh) You two will be working for two of my ex-teammates: Amemura Ramuda and Jinguji Jakurai.
Jiro & Saburo : Former Dirty Dawg?!
Ichiro: That’s right. Jiro, you’ll be handling Jakurai-san’s case. His friend is worried about a stalker, so find this stalker girl and put an end to it. Here’s the info Jakurai-san knows about her. Start with these.
Jiro: Mhm! Roger that, Niichan!
Ichiro: I’m counting on you. Saburo, you’ll take care of Ramuda’s request. He wants more information on this guy Yumeno Gentaro, so dig up whatever dirt you can. Here’s his info.
Saburo: Ichinii, please leave it to me! I won’t disappoint you!
Ichiro: (laughs) Sure, I’m counting on you. If you can finish these requests, then maybe I’ll think about letting you two on the team.
Jiro & Saburo: (makes super happy and hopeful noise) I’m heading out!
Ichiro: Those guys’ cases are not easy to deal with at all. For sure they’ll come home crying unable to finish the job. It’d be nice if they’d give up just like that.
[some time later]
Jiro: Niichan, I found the stalker lady Jakurai-san was looking for.
Saburo: Ichinii, whatever Ramuda wants to know about Yumeno Gentarou, I got it.
Ichiro: Seriously? (unidentifiable noise)
Jiro: I was faster.
Saburo: I was faster.
Ichiro: I only sent you out today, and you’re already done?
Jiro & Saburo: MHM!
Ichiro: Well, let’s see what you got. You first, Jiro.
Jiro: That stalker woman he’s looking for is pretty dangerous. There have been reports of her going after several hosts in Kabuki-chou with a knife. The cops are after her, so she’s been hiding who-knows-where. It was difficult, but I got tipped that she’s staying in Room 1015 of some cheap motel on the outskirts of Shinjuku Division.
Ichiro: You found someone even the cops are still looking for?
Jiro: Of course! I’m Niichan’s little brother after all! Even though I don’t have as many friends as you, I worked really hard to network with people from other divisions just like you did. This gangster guy from Shinjuku Division actually helped me out with his information agency.
Ichiro: Hahaha! Jiro, that’s awesome.
(Jiro made happy noise, Saburo made jealous noise)
Saburo:Ichinii, may I report now?
Ichiro: Oh, yes please.
Saburo: I’ve organized all the information on Yumeno Gentaro here.
Ichiro: Holy shit! You gathered so much in just one day.
Saburo: It’s nothing, really! I just happened to find this stuff on the deep web. And, to be thorough, I met with one of Yumeno Gentaro’s acquaintances to factcheck. There’s no doubt about any of it!
Ichiro: Just by a glance I can already see all your main points sorted and organized clearly. It’s easy to read.
Saburo: Um, could you, pat my...er, thank you very much!
Ichiro:(patta patta) Saburo, good job.
Saburo: (satisfied noise)
Ichiro: Let me get these back to our clientele. Gimme a sec.
Jiro: Well, then. Since my assignment was harder, I win.
Saburo: You’re kidding, right? I’m the winner here. My report was clear and organized, when you only gave him an oral report. I even gave him a proper evaluation of all my findings. This was a job; I obviously deserve more praise.
Jiro: Ha, people who are less confident tend to speak more. Look at you, just chattering cuz you are afraid of losing to me.
Saburo: (slow clap) Hahaha, how imaginative. Kudos to that, Jiro. Have a round of applause.
Jiro: Hahaha, Saburo, what a runt. Trying so hard it’s incredible, I just have to compliment you.
[cynical laughter and slow clap]
Ichiro: Wow, that’s great! You guys are applauding for each other, that’s how brothers are supposed to be. (pat heads/hug them both) You guys are growing up so fast. That’s my little brothers!
Saburo: It’s such a honor to be praised like that! ...Though it could be obvious, who’s the winner? Me or Jiro?
Jiro: Niichan, of course it’s me!
Ichiro: Winner? I never said anything like that.
Jiro & Saburo : Eh?
Ichiro: I only said I was testing you, not that it was a competition or anything.
Jiro: Then, between us, who would you choose to join your team?
Ichiro: Oh, I see. I never thought of using these tasks to decide whatsoever. But well…
Saburo: But well…?
Ichiro: To be honest, I never expected that you two would be able to complete the mission. But you guys got it done with amazing speed.
(Blissful noises from Jiro and Saburo)
Ichiro:Therefore, I’m going to take you guys seriously. Take this.
Jiro: Um, Ichinii, what’s this mic for ?
Ichiro: Show me your skills.
[Hypmic on sfx]
Saburo: Gotcha. Ichinii, please let me go first.
[Music starts]
Saburo:
Who are you calling “runt”
It’s now or never
Don’t look down on the brat
My flow is the best
It’s true I am the youngest
But that’s just a matter of timing
Always looking up and up and up
To Big Bro, let me be your back up
Hey it’s not fallacy
It’s reasoning
With me here,
No troubles come near
[Music ends]
Ichiro: Good job. Those lyrics are just like you, Saburo.
Saburo: (gasp)
Jiro: Listen to mine next, Niichan!
[Music]
Jiro:
Anytime Big bro needs a hand,
Will be there soon as I can
I shall be your lance
Just gimme a chance
To prove to the world my stance
I know I am quite inexperienced I admit
But from now here, will make you proud in a bit
Check it, one-two-three-four (1)
I am Jiro the middle, the second son, the best son
[/Music]
Ichiro: Very powerful flow, and clean rhyme. I’m impressed.
Jiro: (happy noise)
Ichiro: It’s true you guys can rap, to some extent. However, Hypnosis Mic battles aren’t all fun and games. If you can withstand my own rap under the Hypnosis Mic, then I’ll let you on the team.
Jiro & Saburo : Yes!
[Hypmic sfx, music]
Ichiro:
Ai yo, what can’t be taken back (2)
That’s WORD
Spit it, the call of the soul
That’s WAR
Holding onto guns what can you change?
Taking whatever you want is good enough for you? You stupid? (3)
This is a new era in which
Believe in speech
And this mic to your eardrums it reach
Hypnotize
Change the future with this rhyme,
get the world
Everybody raise your voice
[/music]
Jiro & Saburo: (suffering noises)
Jiro: That’s just like Niichan...since it’s us, he didn’t go at it full power, but it’s still so oppressive.
Saburo: Ichinii is just as strong as I expected…! But, that’s exactly why I want to become a man like him!
[hypmic off sfx]
Ichiro: I knew you guys still weren’t ready.
Ichiro: (shocked)
Jiro I was almost a goner...
Saburo: I want to become a man like Ichinii.
Ichiro: hahahahahahaha
Jiro: T-This means...
Saburo: We can join the team?x
Ichiro:Nope, no way.
Jiro & Saburo: (shook)
Ichiro:As I said, if you can withstand it, I will be the one to invite you into the team.
Jiro & Saburo : (hopeful noises)
Ichiro: Jiro, Saburo. What do you think of making a team with me? Let’s change the world together.
Jiro & Saburo : Please take care of us!
One-two-three-four here in japanese is read as “Ichi-ni-no-san-shi” , which is a pun of Ichinii’s (big brother’s) praise/compliments
Og phrase is “吐いた唾は飲み込むな”, which literally translates to something like “you can’t drink what you spit”. Apparently it’s a line yakuza/delinquents use to diss opponents during fights. It a metaphor of how you can’t take back your words/actions, so be careful with what you say/do. Source:https://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1190821391
Those two lines are directed at Samatoki I think. In Samatoki’s solo there were sounds of guns and also he said that he “takes/seizes whatever as long as he likes it”
