The whole list of bizarre treatment ranging from outright violence to enabling his gf to trying to pressure me to do things through finances. Maybe I should be the one making excuses to get him to skip the family gatherings.

not a good man 2
Simon Riley x fem!reader, part 1
Summary: Simon crawls back to apologise
You have asked and I have delivered. I might or might not make an alternative ending where reader doesn’t take back Simon and starts dating König instead
Warning: light smut (just a paragraph, oral f receiving), still mdni
Tumblr media
The next weeks were spent by Simon drowning in alcohol, refusing to admit it’s because of you. He didn’t call or text at all after that last fight, but you didn’t either.
You on the other hand, spent the first week falling asleep crying next to your phone. You hoped that, for once, it would be him who fights for you. But he never called, which only worked to break your heart further.
“Silly me I guess” you’d tell yourself.
On the base he was more distracted than usual, but not enough for anyone to notice. Well, not enough for someone that wasn’t close to him. His captain, John Price, noticed. So one day, while he was having lunch, Price took a seat across the table.
“Captain” Ghost nodded his head.
“Ghost. What’s on your mind?” John’s eyes softened slightly. Simon was very dear to him.
“What are you talking about?”
“You’re distracted”
Those words cut through him like a knife. Distracted? Him?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” he responded, tone more cold now.
“I think you do”
John wasn’t one to back down and Simon knew that. And John also wasn’t someone Simon could intimidate. He was trapped.
“Just a fight”
“Your girl or something?”
Simon didn’t respond and John knew silence was an answer too.
“Have you tried to apologize?”
“What makes you think it’s my fault?” he raised his voice ever so slightly. As much as Price annoyed him in this moment, he wasn’t going to be disrespectful to his captain.
Price only gave him an amused look.
“Look Riley, a word of advice. Not from a superior, but from a comrade”
Simon looked at him straight in the eyes, waiting for him to continue.
John smiled “just because she loves the monster you are, it doesn’t make you less of one. You cannot be Ghost where you should be Simon” and with that, John stood up with his cup of coffee and departed, leaving Simon alone with his thoughts.
And that is how Simon found himself in front of your apartment door. He stood there for at least 20 mins before he knocked.
You were on the couch, nose deep into one of your books. The past weeks have been rough, finding yourself unable to focus on much else.
The soft knocks on your door made you snap back to reality. They were so quiet you almost missed it. You stood up from the couch and made your way to the door.
Your heart jumped in your throat when you looked through the peephole and saw him. His hood was up, and he was looking down.
For a while you contemplated ignoring him, but part of you, the big part of you, the one that still loved him, won. So you opened the door.
“Simon” you said, coldly.
“Dove—“ he looked up and paused. Your eyes were red, you have been crying for god knows how long. He looked back down. In that moment he wanted to punch himself into another dimension.
“‘M sorry” he mumbled.
“What?”
“‘M sorry” he said again, still looking down.
“Is that all? Really?” you were getting angry.
“You know what? Forget it” you said, starting to close to door, which he promptly stopped with his hand.
“N-no. Wait. Look. I know. I’ve been nothing but a cunt to you since the moment we started dating… and— I’m sorry, ok?” he sounded almost desperate.
You let go of the door and stepped aside, which he took as an invitation and walked in after you, closing the door behind.
“You’re soaking wet” you remarked.
“I— I waited for 30 minutes in front of your apartment complex. Then 20 more in front of your door..” he was still not looking at you.
“So it took you about an hour to debate whether or not I was worth an apology?” your voice was cold and full of venom.
“No. It’s not like that” he looked up, his eyes almost pleading for you to stop. Just accept his apology. But of course you weren’t going to and he knew that.
“Look Y/N. I can’t be what you need me to be. I don’t know how to do love you. Not in the way you want me to”
“But are you willing to try?”
“What?”
You left a crack to your heart for him to use. It was up to him to make the effort to squeeze through it.
“I asked—“
“Yes” he cut you off. “Yes I will try. Please love”.
He took a few steps towards you, but this time, you stood where you were. You extended your hands to cup his face and he instinctively leaned into your touch.
“Don’t ever—“
“I won’t” he didn’t let you finish.
“Okay” you said, gently stroking his face with your thumbs “you will have to prove that to me”.
He only nodded, leaning more into your touch.
“I’m sorry love” he said again.
“Good. You should be” you said before standing on your toes and kissing the corner of his mouth.
His eyes widened “I thought you’re mad at me” he blinked a few times, not yet daring to touch you.
“I am. Incredibly so. But— I also love you” you said before kissing him back, not letting him get another word in. In a way, you were scared to wait, scared he wouldn’t say it back.
He didn’t wait too long before kissing you again, one of his big hands holding the back on your head, deepening the kiss. His other hand squeezed your lower back, closing any space between you.
“Seems like you can’t stay away for long little one” he smirked once you pulled away from the kiss.
“Look who’s talking. Last I checked, you’re the one that crawled back”
He gave you a quick look before pulling you into another kiss and picking you up. You wrapped your legs around him until he made it to the bedroom, dropping you on the bed and taking off his wet hoodie before climbing on top of you.
As much as he wanted to fuck you silly, he knew that wouldn’t build him a strong enough case. He didn’t want to make you feel like he was just here for a quick fix. He heard you sob about that enough in the past.
“You’re worth crawling back to” he said, kissing you again before you had a chance to answer.
You smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck and deepened the kiss.
Once he pulled from the kiss, he latched onto your neck, sucking on all the spots he knew were sensitive. His hand traveled down your abdomen, running circles over your wet, needy clit.
Your moans were suddenly making his jeans feel too tight, causing him to grind against the mattress.
“Si— let me help you”
“No” he said, standing up on his knees and pulling your underwear down “for once let’s not make it about me dove”. And with that, his face was between your legs, pushing his tongue inside of you.
“Oh fuck—“ you moaned, arching your back.
He kept eating you out like you were his last meal before death. One hand held you firmly in place and the other was completely abusing your clit.
“Si— fuck— just like that, oh fuck” it felt so good you didn’t even realize you were tearing up.
“I’m gonna—“
“That’s right babe, come for me” he said, while his cock was still throbbing in his pants.
You didn’t need more encouragement before coming, your body twitching as Simon refused to let go of you, licking every drop.
You were panting, your eyes were glossy as you watched him climb on top of you again, kiss your forehead and then lay down next to you.
“What about you?” you asked, rolling on your side to face him.
He caressed your face with the back on his hand. It was rough, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. “I came here to apologize dove”
“But—“
“No buts little one”
He pulled you to him, nuzzling your hair. The room was dark, and the rain was still strong. How you take him back over and over, he couldn’t wrap his head around. He didn’t deserve you, that was for sure. His own ray of sunshine into the void his life was. He would never feel good enough for you, but for what it’s worth, you’re stuck with him. And he promised he would do better.
He didn’t remember just for how long he held you, but it must’ve been a while, for you started to snore.
This made him smile to himself, and he wrapped a blanket around you.
“…. I love you too” he said, but you were already asleep.

Walking to practice didn’t seem so hard. Kageyama will show up to the classroom and awkwardly wait for them.
So then, what’s taking them so damn long?!
Kageyama has been standing outside the doorway for 20 minutes now, and there’s no sign of them! People are giving him weird looks, and it’s not helping that he has a troubled face.
“Kageyama,” one of the students approached him. “Is there someone you’re looking for?” He nods. “Maybe I can help? What’s their name?” Kageyama stutters. He isn’t sure himself, but he can’t just say milkchan; that’s embarrassing.
But if he says he doesn’t know, then that’ll ruin what he had with his crush, and what if they overhear? They’ll surely hate him and think their friendship means nothing, and he completely embarrassed them! Kageyama grumbled, then realized the person had left, probably scared of his long silence.
Kageyama peeks inside the classroom. There’s no one. Had he missed them? But he’d know if they left because, well, he likes them. Kageyama's cheeks turn red at that thought.
He’s going to be late for practice if he waits any more. He sighs, ‘Did I just get stood up?’
Kageyama roams the halls with gloom. He was really looking forward to it. They seemed so excited, too. Was he wrong?
Kageyama sighs again. “That was a waste of time.” He muttered. “Kageyama?” He perks up. Milk-Chan stands there, clutching their bag strap that hangs over their shoulder. Kageyama takes notice of their shock, and that makes him nervous. ‘Did they hear what I said?’
“I…” He glances to the side. “I didn’t mean...” “It’s okay.” They say, “I was in the bathroom.” ‘Oh.’ He feels silly now, and he scratches the back of his head. “No, it’s fine. Sorry, I didn’t notice you left your classroom.” They tilt their head with a chuckle. “I didn’t notice you were there, waiting.”
The two look at each other in confusion, but they snicker. “Let’s get going. I’m sure I’ve kept you waiting forever.” They say, and he nods. They begin to start walking together until Kageyama musters up the courage, tugs on Milk-Chan's shirt, and with flushed cheeks, he says, “I don’t think you’re a waste of time.”
He didn’t know 100% that they heard it, but still, he wanted to say it because Milk-Chan is so special. Kageyama doesn’t want the crown to get to him.
His crush turns their heads toward him with watery eyes. ‘So they did hear.’ They smiled and let out a laugh. “You’re really kind, Kageyama.” He blushed even more, and the walk continued.
When they reached the gym, Kageyama nervously looked at them. “Uh…my…” He closes his eyes in regret. “…friend…” His eyes open. “…is going to buy me meat buns after…Do you want them?” His face turns red.
Milk-chan giggled. “Sure. I’d like that. Do you want me to wait for you?” Kageyama nods. “Is that okay?” They laugh. “I mean, I’m the one who asked.” Kageyama feels even more flustered.
“Kageyamaaaaa!!” Hinata storms out of the gym. “Where were you?! You know that counts as my win!” “Shut the hell up!” Hinata notices his crush, then lets out a loud gasp. “You actually brought them!” “Of course I did dumbass!” “What’s going on?” Daichi walks out with his arms crossed. “Kageyama brought his..." The tall one sends him a hard glare.
Hinata shivers, then nervously chuckles. “He brought his friend.” Daichi raises a brow. “Okay? Listen, Kageyama, you’re late, which isn’t like you.” “Sorry…” Milk-Chan stands in front of Kageyama. “It’s my fault. I kept him waiting.” Daichi sighs, “It’s fine. He’s here; that’s all that matters.”
“Come on, Kageyama.” Daichi grabs his arm and drags him inside. Hinata glances at his crush. “Did he tell you that he wants to feed you meat buns?” “Huh?” "HINATA, YOU DUMB FUCK, I'M NOT DOING THAT!!!!!” “KAGEYAMA, HINATA, BACK TO WORK!”

I miss you, I'm sorry
Alexia Putellas x reader
Tumblr media
This is just pretty much angst. It won't be long but I just need to write rn to get my feelings out.
Summary: Listen to the song ! But this is about Ale and reader's relationship and it's ending.
You said "forever" and I almost bought it.
"Baby you are my future" Alexia whispered to your ear as you were having a bad night. You were scared of losing Alexia and your every insecurity was brought up to your mind.
"Do you promise me that we will last forever?" You whispered back with tears in your eyes.
"Forever mi amor, forever" She whispered and kissed your lips so sweetly that you were so close to believing every single word she said.
You wanted to wallow in the false security. You wanted what you had with Ale to last forever. Of course there where bad times, times where she didn't give enough time for you because of football. She was always at practice but she promised to change, and for a while she did.
You had noticed the fact that she was pulling away, in some way distancing herself from you, you didn't have date nights as often, she wouldn't give you a goodnight kiss or even text if you weren't together. You wanted to believe that it was just the fact that she was busy with football but deep down you knew it was something else.
But how could you not believe her when she tells you she want's a future with you, she want's to buy a house and raise a family. When she tells you that you are her only girl and that she loves you more than anything.
Disagreements about your insecurities became an often times discussed topic. You knew that you were a lot to handle but so did she and still she always told you that it wasn't too much for her. That she could handle all the trauma and insecurities that you have.
"Do you love me anymore" You suddenly asked one night in bed. You were deep in your thoughts and just wanted reassurance.
"What the hell?" She asked in defense. It wasn't the answer you had hope for. All you wanted for her was to say that "I still love you, I promise". You had told Alexia time and time again that you needed reassurance and that you were a very insecure person but often questions like that only brought a fight up.
Nothing happened in the way i wanted
The date night you were looking forward to had finally came. You were exited that Alexia had finally planned a night for the just two of you. You could finally be held in her arms and be loved the way you deserve to be loved.
But when you arrived at the spot where you were supposed to meet, she wasn't there. You waited for 10 minutes, then 20 minutes and soon it was an hour. You were supposed to have a picnic at the place where your first date was. You were supposed to finally have a romantic night with your love but she didn't show up.
You didn't even bother texting her, you just went back to your apartment and cried yourself to sleep. You knew you would wake up to messages where Alexia was apologizing and probably making this sound like it wasn't that big of a deal and it was your fault somehow.
Everywhere I go leads me back to you.
Somehow Alexia was able to make you forgive her and you were soon back at her apartment. You had a sick feeling in your stomach but just wanted to ignore it.
Alexia was nervous when she came to open the door.
"I need to tell you something" Were the words that you were afraid off. "Could we maybe talk later today?"
"Can we just talk now?" You said, wanting to just get it over.
"Baby I'm so sorry but I have met someone" Were the words coming out of Ale's mouth. She continued talking but it was just all a blur to you. Those were the words you knew were coming but just didn't want to believe.
You blamed yourself for everything. You would take Alexia back in a heartbeat if she asked.
You should have been better
You should not have been so insecure
You should have been better
You should not have been too much for her to handle.
You should have been better
The text you ended up sending her later that night was simple.
I miss you, I'm sorry

Reassurances
Requested Here!
Pairing: Dominique Luca x fem!reader
Summary: Luca's fellow S.W.A.T. members tease him for dating someone who is younger and out of his league. Though he knows they mean well, sometimes he needs your reassurances.
Warnings: brief angst, insecurities, teasing, fluffy comfort!!
Word Count: 1.7k+ words
A/N: Luca deserves all the love!!! He gives the best hugs in the world, I just know it. (Sorry if he's OOC, this is my first time writing for him, but I will be adding him to my character list if anyone has more requests for him!)
Tumblr media
“Luca! Your daught- sorry, your girlfriend’s here, cradle robber!” Rocker calls when he sees you.
“Knock it off, Rocker,” Hondo replies, turning to Luca to add, “The brainwashed model is here.”
“Guys,” Deacon chides. “Take it easy.”
“Thank you, Deac,” you say, waving as you walk past them to the situation room.
“Hey, what’re you doing here?” Luca asks, pulling you into a hug.
“Just wanted to see you. I was in the neighborhood,” you answer, practically melting at Luca's touch.
“You’re sure everything’s okay?” he checks, pulling back to look at your face.
Smiling as you look into his icy blue eyes, you nod.
“Oh, I got you something while I was out this morning,” you remember. “Want it now or later?”
Luca’s gaze flits over your shoulder, looking at his team and a few members of 50-David not so inconspicuously watching you. “Later sounds good.”
“Luca,” you say quietly, “you know they’re just teasing.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know.” Forcing a smile back on his face, Luca returns his full attention to you. “What else do you have planned today?”
“Not much. I’m probably gonna go sit at your house and wait for you to get home.”
Luca chews the inside of his bottom lip, debating if he should tell you that you can do whatever you want and that you don’t have to make special trips to see him.
“Hey,” you say, tapping his chest. “I want to see you. But if you’re busy, that’s fine.”
“No, ‘s not that, just…”
“Luca, I want to.”
Luca nods, his eyes and smile dropping as you approach him. Wrapping your arms around his waist, you squeeze him tightly.
“Okay, I get it,” he says through a laugh, tapping your back.
“I’ll see you tonight, then?” you ask, tilting your chin to catch his eyes.
“See you tonight,” he assures, rubbing between your shoulder blades.
As you exit S.W.A.T. HQ, you’re glad Rocker left already. 20-David’s teasing is clearly all in good fun, but Rocker always takes it too far, instilling doubts in Luca. You will never grow tired of reminding him that you love him, want him, and will choose him over and over for the rest of your life, but sometimes you want to put the other S.W.A.T. members in their place.
✯✯✯✯✯
While you get comfortable at Luca’s house, he counts the minutes until he can pull you into his arms again.
“Big plans tonight?” Deacon asks.
“Just a night in,” Luca answers.
“Only option at your age, isn’t it?” Street jokes.
Luca doesn’t reply, and Street looks at Tan. The rest of 20-David shake their heads at each other, acknowledging that they took it a step too far.
“Luca, I didn’t-“ Street begins.
“It’s good,” Luca answers, closing his locker. “See you tomorrow, guys.”
“Bye, Luca,” Deacon calls. He turns toward Hondo, who shrugs.
“We may need to lay off him for a few days,” Hondo suggests.
“Trouble in paradise?” Rocker asks as he enters the locker room. “She remember there’s guys who don’t need to early bird discount?”
When no one replies, Rocker raises his head and asks, “Is he okay?”
“We don’t know,” Street answers, looking at Luca’s locker. “But he has to be. If he’s not, it’s our fault.”
✯✯✯✯✯
The door opens, and you rush to greet Luca, wrapping your arms around him as he closes the door. You know something is wrong when his arms don’t immediately circle you.
“Luca,” you say softly, pushing your fingers through his hair, disturbing the gel he put in it this morning. “Do you want to talk about it?”
He shakes his head, his shoulders lowered and drawn toward each other.
“Do you want to sit with me for a while? I, for one, could use some good company.”
“You could get better company,” Luca whispers.
Sighing, you wrap your hands around Luca’s arm, leading him to the couch. After you push him to sit, you turn toward the kitchen to get him a drink, but his hand leaps up and catches your wrist. The questioning look in his eye, like he thinks you are leaving him, is enough to break your heart. Kneeling before the couch, you raise your hands to Luca’s cheeks.
“Look at me?” you request.
When he lifts his tired, glassy eyes to you, you silence. You’re not immune to insecurities - no one really is - but seeing Luca questioning you and your relationship like this is especially painful.
“You’re all I’ll ever want,” you promise. “I will choose you, Luca, every single day.”
Luca shakes his head, and you gently press your hands against his cheeks as you comfort him.
“You wanna know something about me?” Luca’s gaze raises back to your face, and you say, “I could marry you right now.”
Sniffling, Luca leans closer to you. Moving your hands down to either side of his neck, you lean between his knees, pressing your weight into the couch.
“The guys,” Luca begins, taking a shaky breath. “I know they’re just teasing, but they’re right about so much, you know?”
“No, I don’t. Tell me what you think they’re right about.”
“You’re too young for me, way out of my league… You could do better than me.”
“Can I ask a question, and promise not to take it the wrong way?”
Luca shrugs, and you crack a small smile.
“You have to at least say you’ll try,” you add.
“I’ll try.”
“Why’s it bothering you so much today? Some days you roll with the punches, and joke with them. Today was different, though. Did something change?”
Dropping his chin, Luca presses his face against your arm beside his jaw.
“It’s me, right?” you ask. “You realized you’re in way better shape than me, that this whole time you’ve been out of my league.”
“What?” Luca mumbles against your forearm.
“I mean, you work out all the time for work, chasing down bad guys and jumping out of helicopters. You got tired of my joints cracking every time I stand up, right?”
“That’s ridiculous,” Luca says with a chuckle.
“Exactly.”
Luca shakes his head, and you wipe a stray tear from his cheek. You stand, keeping your hands on him as a tangible promise that you’re not going anywhere. Luca looks up at you from the couch, following your movement.
“I mean it,” you reiterate, “I could marry you right now. Dressed like this, and that’s saying a lot.”
Dressed in a stretched-out t-shirt that once belonged to Luca and your favorite, comfiest bottoms, you hope you’re getting your point across.
“How are you not tired of me yet?” Luca asks. “We have this conversation too often.”
“I don’t mind telling you how I feel. Luca, I love you, and I will scream it from the rooftops… maybe not this rooftop because you moved to a neighborhood filled with known gangs.”
You sigh as Luca finally returns your hug, wrapping his arms around your waist and pushing a hand under your shirt to press against your back.
“Tell me,” you murmur.
“I know you love me,” he answers. Moving his hand further up your spine, he adds, “And I love you.”
You smile, turning to sit beside Luca. He leans against you, his eyes stuck to yours as he smiles.
“Don’t ever listen to Rocker, he’s an idiot. I don’t know how he got married before you.”
“Maybe he’s the one that brainwashed somebody.”
Chuckling, you agree with Luca before remembering the surprise you got him. Moving out from underneath him, you disappear into the guest bedroom, and when you reemerge, Luca is watching for you.
“It’s not much,” you begin, “but I got you this.”
Luca pulls you back onto the couch before extending his hand. You lay the small package in his palm, turning to watch him open it.
As Luca removes the paper hiding the gift, you realize you are the lucky one in this relationship regardless of what he thinks about who is out of whose league.
Luca moves his hand to catch the two toys that fall toward his lap. Turning them over, he smiles as he looks at the diecast cars.
“Is this supposed to be Black Betty?” he asks, raising the vintage Hot Wheels S.W.A.T. van.
“I saw it and thought of you. Like I said it’s not much, but-“
“It’s perfect,” Luca interjects. “You’re perfect.”
Leaning toward him, you take the van from his hand so he can examine the matching police car.
“You deserve nice things, Luca,” you remind him. “And you deserve to be happy with whoever you want, no matter what your team says.”
Luca nods, setting the cars on the table before pulling you into his arms. He doesn’t always have the words to say, but his actions and everything he does for you show you that he loves you and wants you, even when thinking he doesn’t deserve you.
✯✯✯✯✯
When you walk into S.W.A.T. HQ the next week, after receiving a less-than-informative text from Luca, you cross your fingers that any teasing he encounters won’t push him as far as last time.
“Somebody get a chair lift for Luca! He needs to get to another level before she realizes she left him behind!” Street yells when he sees you.
Luca hears the commotion as Tan and Hondo join in on the teasing and rushes out to meet you. He hugs you, keeping an arm around your shoulders as he leads you toward the situation room.
“What’s it like dating someone who’s so far out of your league?” Rocker asks, a teasing smile on his face.
“At least we have standards and didn’t scrape the bottom of the dating barrel,” Luca replies, “but that’s more of your thing, right?”
Rocker’s jaw drops, and you press your lips together to stifle a laugh. 20-David, however, doesn’t try to hide their amusement, turning their teasing to Rocker as they follow him out of the ring.
“That was unexpected,” you say, smiling as Luca continues walking again.
“Still want to marry me?”
“Of course,” you answer without hesitation. “Wait, right now?”
Luca raises his brows, smiling as he runs his tongue over his bottom lip. “Not what I meant, but why not? You’re all I’ll ever want.”
Luca cups your jaw, and you whisper, “Reassurances are my job.”

Note
So I just recently lost my job for something that wasn't my fault! :) TLDR: Left when my shift was over, thinking the next guy on shift was already there. He wasn't so I got fired for it.
For context: I've worked in a store with only 5 coworkers (including the owner) for a few years now. The owner has been coming by less and less often and had the back fixed up like someone was moving in, so I kind of figured he was getting ready to sell the store. I asked several times over the course of about 6 months if he was going to sell and every time he would say no. Then one day a guy MOVES IN to the back room and the owner tells me he's the new boss.
Ok fine, I think. Am I fired then? He says no, the new guy needs us four to stay on and show him how to run the business. I keep working my shifts that week like usual and show the new guy how the store works. The next week the owner texts us to let us know the new guy decided he wanted to get rid of everyone and hire new staff. I actually argue with him about this because I asked MULTIPLE TIMES if he was selling, and if I was out of a job, AND HE KEPT SAYING NO. Now if he fires me with no warning I'm fucked. He actually agrees that we can keep working our normal hours for another month, THEN we're getting laid off. Ok that's still some bullshit, but it gives me time to find something else.
I guess the new guy was upset that he didn't get to get rid of us right away like he wanted, so he doesn't even speak to me when I'm there working. I show up to open the store at 7am and stay there till 3 when he takes over. He doesn't even get out of bed most days until noon (I know because I can hear when his alarm goes off). So I get used to him not speaking to me. I also get used to him going outside and hiding behind our dumpster to smoke weed.
One day, just 20 minutes before my shift is over, he strolls right by me without saying a word, as usual, and I see on the camera that he goes behind the dumpster. I figure he's smoking weed and forget about him because I'm busy with customers. 20 minutes later I look on the camera and can't see him, but his car is still there. So I shoot him a text saying I'm going home and leave.
Not 5 minutes later, before I've even got home, my phone starts ringing. I ignore it thinking I'll call whoever it is back when I get home, but they call again. And again. And again. And again. So I pull over and answer and it's the owner SCREAMING AT ME that I left the store unlocked. I told him the new guy was there, and he said no, he got someone to pick him up and went to Malwart. I say ok, I'm still close I'll drive back down there and lock it, he yells NO YOU'RE FIRED and just keeps screaming and screaming and screaming- so I blocked him.
Went down there the next day to grab some cleaning supplies and toilet paper I bought for the store and dropped my keys off. Fuck that place, it is not MY FAULT his new favorite employee forgot when his shift started and left without telling anyone.
Also, the 4 people besides the owner who worked there were 3 women and 1 man. I later heard this new guy fired the other 2 women and ended up keeping the 1 man, who was by far the WORST of us. He never did any cleaning or stocking, and I've had customers tell me he sits in his car with the door locked for hours at a time. They're gonna run that business into the ground for sure.

Salt of the Earth ~ Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Michael Berzatto x OFC
Summary: She was Carmy's best friend growing up, and Michael never looked at her as anything other than that until years later when she comes back to Chicago to start over. In the process, she turns his sorry excuse of a life upside down.
Content/Warnings: Friends to lovers, Fluff, Angst, Family Drama, Dysfunctional relationships, Implied/referenced drug addiction, Alcohol mention, Divorce, Pets, Pet names, Dialogue heavy. Undisclosed age gap (in my mind Michael is late 30s and OC is late 20s, but it's really up to your interpretation).
Word Count: 6.8k // 4 chapters // AO3 link.
A/N: This is set in the year of the Fishes episode on season 2. It starts in summer and slowly builds up to that Christmas.
— This was an anon request that I got a few months ago, I hope you're still around. I tried to fit all the ideas you sent as best I could. There's a bit of info dump on the first chapter, but I hope it isn't too off-putting.

Chapter 1: Best thing since sliced bread
Seconds stretch into minutes, minutes elongate into long hours on slow days like this at The Beef. Especially in summer when the air conditioner stops working for the second time in the middle of August. Any living soul that crosses that door must have a dying wish or be the devil themselves to adventure themselves to what has become Michael's personal hell.
It's been a testing year, and there's so much he can do to fix this place right now. While he waits for Fak to come check the damn AC unit, Michael tends the front while Ebra takes his lunch break.
Turning the paper's pages on the counter, he comes across an article about the extensive fires eating different parts of the country. A wretched thought crosses his mind as he reads – maybe it'd be better to burn this place to the ground and start over. He entertains the idea for a second until the door swings open, inviting more heat into the boiling pot.
He lifts his eyes from the words to find a familiar face approaching the counter. It's not Fak, but a much better vision of someone he used to know.
“Mayhem Maya.”
“Magic Mikey.”
That former thought of burning down this place disappears somewhere in the midst of that beautiful aura that saunters with her big brown eyes, long raven hair, nervous smile, and firm steps.
“It's been a while, Maybird.” Almost ten years since she set foot in this establishment. “What brings you to this hole in the wall?”
“Came to collect that meatball sub you promised at uncle Teddy's funeral, remember?”
“Oh, right.”
Ever since she moved to a different state, he only had seen her a handful of times when she came back for the holidays. Last time he saw her was at the beginning of spring, when her uncle, Ted Silva, passed away.
“I also had an interview at the new vet clinic on the next block.” She places her cross-body bag on an empty stool while she perches her ass on the one next to it.
“How's that going? Did you get tired of California already?”
“No, I love California. But I needed a change of scenery. It's been rough after… you know…” the divorce. She wasn't married for long, but she still can't bring herself to say the word.
“I’ve heard some of it.” He’s pretty much aware of how everything went down. Well, he’s got grapevine’s juicy version of the story, but he never heard her side directly.
Though Michael and Maya know each other as if they were related, they were never close confidants. She always thought he was the coolest guy in Chicago. And he always thought fondly of her, given their families association, and Maya’s close friendship with his brother.
Michael places an order for her sandwich and grabs a soda for her, while she explains she has two more job interviews later.
“Does your mother know you're back?” He folds the paper and props his elbows on the counter.
“She probably does.”
“Still not talking, huh?”
“It's not my fault she made me the black sheep of the family. She’s like vitriol on steroids.”
“Yeah? What happened at the wake? You left before I could say goodbye.”
Michael recalls the tension at the funeral, particularly at the wake when Angela Silva grabbed Maya by the elbow and took her youngest daughter outside the house as if she was still a child that needed to be scolded.
“Nothing. I barely said a word that day. Guess everything I do feels like a personal attack to her. I can admit that I'm not perfect, and that sometimes I've acted up just to get a reaction out of her, but that day she just went off again…” She pauses without finishing that thought to take a refreshing sip of her coke. “And that wasn't nearly as bad as the day I told her I was getting…”
“Divorced? Why can't you say the word? It's not Voldemort.”
“What the hell do you know about Voldemort?”
“How do I… Who took you and Carmy to buy those damn books? Have you forgotten?” Maya shakes her head. “You even tried many times invoking his name, so I was haunted by eaters or something like that. You two were real potterheads.”
“And you were just a pothead,” she laughs, stirring the ice cubes in her drink with a straw. “I totally blocked that out. We were just a couple of nerds.”
“I’d say!”
“Meatball sub!” Richie calls from the pass-through window and takes a second look when catching Maya in the joint. “Maya Papaya?!”
“Please, don’t call me that.” She scoffs while Richie promptly abandons the kitchen and goes around the counter to give her a welcoming hug.
“Did you know she was coming?” He asks Michael, as he props his ass on the bar.
“Had no idea. She just showed up.”
“Did you tell her about Carmy?”
“What about him?”
“He’s in Copenhagen.”
“Oh, I knew about that.”
“You two talk often?”
“Sometimes, I guess.” Barely more likely. They don't even text anymore. She's tried but there's been nothing but crickets at his end for months.
While Richie grills her about Carmy and what she’s been up to, Michael can’t help but look around the shop to notice, from every corner and wall, memories bouncing all at once in his direction. It takes him back in time to those days when she and Carmy were as thick as thieves.
Their shared history goes back to that same street their families have lived on for over thirty years… It’s still clear in his mind, like it was yesterday, when he was forced to babysit them when they wanted to go to the movies or trick-or-treating or the bookstore. That was a little annoying back then, now he fondly remembers all those times in summer, when they’d go to the convenience store to get ice pops on their bikes. Then they’d ride back and sit in the middle of the swanky rug in their living room and watch TV for hours. More than once they were yelled at by Mama Berzatto when she would come home to find melted colorful stains in the fabric. She would lose her shit. Carmy was used to it. Maya wasn’t, but the girl never flinched once cause Donna and her own mother were cut from the same unstable piece of cloth.
Maya and Carmy were really close up until they went separate ways for college. Their bond was something to admire. They had something so special that inevitably, Carmy fell in love with her. She was his best friend and confident. They kept each other's secrets, and Carmy thought she'd feel the same in return. It wasn't a crazy notion. They spent so much time together, everyone thought it'd lead to something more, but that never happened.
Mikey and Richie used to tease the youngest cub relentlessly. They tried multiple times to encourage him to ask her out, but he never found the guts to do it. Especially if it could potentially end their friendship. Carmy didn't want to lose that. Though he never confessed his feelings, Maya always knew. Even in her teens, call it a woman’s intuition, part of her already knew. Maya wished she'd felt the same toward him, but the heart wants what it wants, and she couldn't change that.
What was really fucked up was that she had the most ridiculous crush on the older Berzatto when she was a teen. While she knew he'd never look at her as anything other than Carmy's annoying little friend, that didn't stop her from daydreaming about it for years. It was a secret that no one ever knew and that was placed in a drawer at the back of her mind after she left Chicago.
After graduating, Maya and Carmy stayed in touch for a long time, until their calls and texts became less frequent. They followed different dreams that required a lot of attention and sadly their friendship got hurt in the process.
While she attended Vet School on the west coast, he became a chef on the east.
Maya thrived at school and work. She really went out on her own, and became the woman she always wanted to be. Unsheltered, confident, outspoken. She outgrew her shell and opened herself to new experiences and people. She loved it all. It wasn’t smooth sailing, but for the most part she was pretty happy with her choices.
And now she's back in Chicago, set on a new path and awaiting to see where it takes her.
She’s living in a house in Oak Park with her dog, Coco; Richie fishes out of her. Apparently, she got some money from uncle Teddy, and she’s invested it in a home for her and her beloved staffy.
“Does Carmy know you’re here?” Richie circles back.
“No, I haven't talked to him in months.”
“Why? Did you two have a fall-out or something?”
“There's no why. We're just busy.”
“Mike, help me out here. Weren’t these two fools supposed to get married?”
“Yeah, everyone thought you'd ended up together.”
“Man, I don't know what to tell you, we just didn't,” her head sinks between her shoulders.
“Just get over yourself and hit him up. The kid has been hung up on you since forever. It looks like things didn’t go so well with your marriage and all. You should take that as a sign, you’d never find anyone better than Carmy. The boy could really use some excitement in his life. And so could you.”
“C’mon, leave her alone. Go back to work, Cousin.”
Michael throws her a lifeline, noticing how miserable she looks every time Richie opens his unfiltered mouth.
“He’s not wrong, you know? You and Carmy… it looked like you two had something special.” Michael offers once Richie is back in the kitchen.
“It’s called friendship. You should look it up.” She points out.
“I have Richie.”
“Exactly. You have Richie. Why don't you two marry the other and leave me alone? If you think about it, you were as close to Richie as I was with Carmy. Even more. Should everyone assume you are in love with him? Cause that's what you're implying.”
“Touché. I'll drop it.”
“Look, as hard as it is to believe, there was nothing else between us. I was aware he felt something for me, but I didn’t feel the same.”
“You should give him a chance sometime. He might surprise you.”
It’s not the first time these two have been trying to play matchmaker between Maya and Carmy, and it’s bizarre to see they still do at any given opportunity.
“Okay, if I give Carmy a chance, you have to give Richie a chance. Those are the rules, Berzatto.”
“Oh, I've tried. He's not into me,” he remarks, amused, and leans closer to confess something in a lower voice. “Do you wanna know a secret?”
“Uh, sure.”
“He and Tiffany are having a baby. He just told me a few days ago.”
“What? You let him reproduce? I'll pray for Tiff.”

Chapter 2: Cool as a cucumber
Everything falls slowly into place as Maya settles back in Chicago. She secures the job at the clinic near The Beef, which is a huge relief after her rushed decision of moving back to her hometown without securing a job first. It was part of the plan all along to practice what she loves but never thought this would be the year. As much as she loved California, once her divorce was finalized she felt like something was trapping her there. And the money she got from her uncle gave her some leeway to improvise, get away from all that, and start over.
Maya is spending her morning going through the stack of unpacked boxes, finding a good place for everything, making it feel more homey. It's not a big house, but spacious enough for the two of them. The big selling point was the backyard for Coco to zoom around and cool down in her wading pool, which she loves. It didn't take long for the five-year-old pup to get used to her new neighborhood. They've even made a couple of friends at the park nearby.
A moment before the doorbell rings, Coco whines from her spot by the window, where she often sits to watch passers in the street.
“Who is it?” Maya playfully asks her dog as she makes her way to the front door.
Through the peephole, she sees Michael's profile as he inspects the porch.
“Hi,” her eyes widen as she opens the door. “Didn't know you were coming.”
“Yeah, I would've called, but I didn't get your number the other day.” But he got her address from Richie's intense questioning when she visited the shop.
“I knocked on two different houses until I got the right one,” he explains as Coco curiously circles around his feet, sniffing his pants, hitting his crotch with her nose in the process.
“No, Coco. Sit. How many times have we talked about no nut-tapping?” Maya glances at her with amusement as the dog sits on her haunches.
“It’s fine,” he snorts. “All dogs do that.”
“Yeah, tell me about it. But she’s not any other dog. I thought I had taught her better. So what brings you here?”
“This.” He offers the paper bag hanging in his hand. “It's just a little house-warming gift.”
“You didn't have to.” As she takes the bag from his hand she ushers him inside before closing the door.
“It's nothing, really.”
He glances around as Maya takes out the box from the bag.
“Wow, a set of knives? That's not nothing.”
“Everyone needs one good set of knives. But you can exchange them for something else if you want.”
“No. I like these. But I gotta warn you that I'm not much of a cook, and I'll probably use the same one for everything.”
“That's fine I can show you sometime though. Is she friendly? ” He points at the dog that keeps staring at him. “Can I pet her?”
“Yeah, she loves everyone. Go ahead.”
Michael cautiously pets the brown coat of her head as her floppy ears lower at the passing of his hand.
“Never pictured you with a pit bull.”
“Me neither. I always thought I'd be a cat lady. But I met her at this adoption drive when she was one, and she stole my heart.”
“I can see why.” Michael crouches down, and pets Coco with both hands. “She's really sweet.”
He lets her lick his chin a couple of times before standing back on his feet. Then they go on a tour around the house.
“It's still a work in progress. I'm thinking of painting a few walls, but we like it so far.”
“Yeah, it has good bones.”
“So you don't have to work today?” Asks Maya.
“No, we've had some trouble with the gas line, and we've been shut down for a couple of days.”
“That sucks. Now where am I going to get my sandwiches and coffee on my way to work?”
“Heard Starbucks is pretty good.”
“Shut up. Don't even joke about that.” She playfully shoves his shoulder as they go back to the living room.
“Are you doing something later?”
She shakes her head. “Why?”
“I don't know, thought you were having a comeback party or something.”
“I don't really have any friends here. And I don't feel like inviting my family yet. As you can see, I still have a lot to unpack.”
“Physically or mentally speaking?”
“Both,” she scoffs.
“Let's do something then? Just you and me. We could grab some pizza, or go out for a drink for old times’ sake?”
“Old times’ sake?” It's amusing, surprising and confusing his sudden interest in her. Maybe he can see how pathetic she thinks she is, and he's taking pity on her. Although, that was never Michael style.
“Yeah, c'mon, Mayhem. You look like you could use some fun.” He picks up a book that's sitting on top from the box opened by the couch that's titled — Dating Again with Courage and Confidence: The Five-Step Plan to Revitalize Your Love Life after Heartbreak, Breakup, or Divorce. “And maybe a rebound or something. You don't need a fucking help book. You only need me to show where to get the best guys, or girls. Whatever you're into.”
“Give me that. I don't need a rebound, a help book, or you for all matter finding me a date.”
“No? Then why do you have that?”
“My friend Paige thought I should give it a try.”
“Maybe she was onto something there.”
“I'm perfectly fine. Just want to finish organizing everything, focus on work and this handful I have right here.” Her hand gestures at Coco. “What are you so interested in my love life anyway? First you try to play matchmaker with Carmy, and now you want me to do what, exactly? Hook up with the first guy I see?”
“No, I'm just asking you to go out and have some fun. I know Carmy was the only friend you had here. And if I was in your shoes, I'd feel pretty lonely.”
“I'm not lonely, Michael. Do I miss my friends in Sacramento? Sure,” she admits. “But I don't wanna force anything. I'm just taking it slow. When the time comes I'll jump right in but for now, this is all I need. Really. Stop pitying me.”
“I'm not pitying you, sweetheart.”
“No? Then what is it? Where is this coming from?”
“I don't know… I've always thought you were the salt of the earth. And though we never really hung out together, I thought you could use… But I can see now that you're different, and that you know what you need right now, so I'll just shut up and back off. Let you do your thing.”
“Thank you. I do know what I'm doing, by the way. You don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine. But I appreciate you coming here anyway.”
“Yeah, of course. And I can help you unpack if you need.”
“Hm, if you don't have anything better to do, be my guest. We could grab a pizza later, if the offer still stands. Or just order some food.”
“Sure.”
Michael helps Maya unpack all the boxes and put everything in place in half the time it'd have taken her alone. They order some food for lunch and spend half the day talking and laughing until late in the afternoon when they decide to go out for some drinks to keep the good vibes going.
At the end of the night, she offers to drive Michael back to his apartment as a thank you for inviting her.
“Did you have fun?” Michael asks from the passenger seat as she pulls up in front of his building.
“Yeah, I did. I'm glad I changed my mind.”
“Me too. I didn't know you were this fun. You're nothing like I remember.”
“Yeah, I was kind of weird growing up. You guys probably thought there was something wrong with me. ”
“Nah, don't be so hard on yourself. We were all weird in our own way.”
“Uh-uh. No Michael Berzatto. You were the coolest guy back in the day, and you still are.”
“I don’t know about that,” he scoffs. “For the record… I never thought there was anything wrong with you.”
“You were probably the only one… Anyway, thank you for today. I know I said I didn't need this, but I guess I did.”
“You're welcome, Maybird. I'm glad you’re back.”
“Yeah, me too.”
“Thanks for bringing me home,” he softly squeezes her arm before reaching for the handle to open the door.
“No problem.”
“You know you can call me if you ever miss your friends, y’know?” he throws casually.
“I uh…sure. I will.”
“Okay.”
“Okay,” she echoes back as he pulls the handle and the door opens.
“Have a good night, Michael,” she says as he gets one foot on the pavement.
“You, too, sweetheart.”
He closes the door and vaguely waves as she sets the car in motion and watches her drive away.

Chapter 3: Don't cry over spilled milk
In the few weeks he's been spending time with Maya, Michael has found himself enjoying her company more than he'd like to admit. Being with her grounds him. She makes him forget for a little while all that's wrong in his life. She's like a beacon in that immerse darkness that his sorry existence has become. Despite having her own set of problems, he's watched her rise above all that with poise. He wonders what it's her secret to her steadfast determination, even when her own family has disavowed her.
After closing shop, he dives into his stash to tame that brewing headache before driving to Oak Park to pay her a visit. She told him earlier via text that she was at Home Depot buying some paint to update the color of her bedroom and asked him to come over to hang out after work.
For some reason, he couldn't say no. Not even the storm in his head is strong enough to deny her request. He has a pull on him, tugging him hard like a dog tied to a leash in her hand, he can’t help but follow her lead.
When he arrives at her house, she's halfway done. Two of the walls shine bright new in a lavender tone as she starts working on the next one.
After having beer and playing a tug of war game with his new friend, Coco, Michael offers his help to finish painting the walls. He uses a brush to paint the corners, while she gracefully uses a roller like a pro with her denim overalls over a tank top, and her raven hair pulled up in a ponytail sprinkled with lavender paint beads. When she lifts one of her arms, he catches a glimpse of a tattoo on the side of her rib cage, leveled to the roundness of her chest that looks like the outline of a dog paw.
“What are you looking at?” She asks after catching him staring.
“You have paint on your chin.”
“Oh.” She wipes it with the back of her hand, but she just spreads the stain along her jaw. “I made it worse, didn't I?”
“Yeah.”
She shrugs it off and continues with the task ahead until the whole wall is covered.
“Is everything okay, Bear?” Maya puts down the paint roller. “You're quieter than usual.”
“Yeah, everything's alright.” It sounds so honest, he almost believes it. “It's just been a long day.”
“I'm sorry that I put you to work.”
“Don't be. This is relaxing.”
“Yeah?” She takes a step back and surveys how much brighter her bedroom looks already after covering most of the former downcast grey. “Is the color right? Do you think it's too girlish?”
Giving the room a once over he says, “it's a good shade. I dig it. It doesn't matter what I think or if it's too girlish, as long as you like it. Do you like it?”
“Yeah. I do.”
She dips the roller on the tray to cover another section of the wall.
“You never told me what happened at the funeral with your mom,” Michael leans on the stepladder, taking a short break.
“Do you really wanna know?” She glances over her shoulder.
“Yeah. Everyone does. I’ve heard some crazy stories about it. Thought I should get it straight from the source.”
“I never pegged you for a gossip girl.”
“I’m not. I’m just making conversation.”
She mockingly narrows her eyes, drawing a lopsided smirk, “liar.”
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t wanna. But yeah, can’t help being a little curious about it.”
“I don’t mind telling you, but it won’t be as entertaining as those crazy stories people have made up.”
“I’m not here for entertainment. I just wanna hear your side of the story, Maybird.”
Maya lets out a heavy sigh and while keeping her focus on the wall she shares with him what really happened. She’s right to say that is not the best story she’s ever told, though when it comes to her mother, all her stories tend to have a surreal element even she can’t fathom sometimes.
That day at the funeral, she was taken outside during the wake by Angela Silva to get scolded about her imminent divorce. It wasn’t finalized by then, and her mom invoked one last Hail Mary to convince her to stay with her husband, who was also currently dating someone else. It was a messy situation that Maya couldn't wait to get out of, and the fact that her mother never offered an ounce of support wasn’t surprising, but still devastating. Somehow, Angela found that the reason for her separation from her husband was that Maya didn’t want to have kids, and that really vexed Angela. All she wanted for her three kids was to follow the same traditional path Angela was forced into, no matter how miserable she was. Her two older sisters followed her mother’s narrowed traditional values. But Maya, ever-the-nonconformist, swore she would never follow anyone’s drum beat but her own. Her husband thought she’d change her mind eventually. He was wrong. She knew that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon, which led her here, to this moment.
“Is your mom ever happy?” Michael has always wondered.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen her happy, except when she’s drunk. That’s why she has to make everyone else miserable.”
“Yeah, but she’s always had a fixation on making you miserable.”
“Like I said, every family needs a black sheep, and I’m it.”
“Is that why you became a vet?”
“Yeah, probably.”
“So, it's true, you don’t wanna have kids? I’m not judging. I’m just curious.”
“I honestly don't know. I just knew that when he told me he wanted to have a baby right away, it didn’t feel right. I said that maybe in six or seven years I’d be okay with it. Told him I wanted to travel and just be us for a while, and he said that was too long to wait. I don’t know… he stopped talking to me, and it was clear that he wasn’t changing his mind, and I wasn’t changing my mind, so. At some point I got tired of trying… He got a girlfriend as soon as I filed for divorce and I got a text from Paige the other day that said he got her already pregnant, like… that was never me. I guess it served me right… I married him on a whim, an impulse without really talking about what we wanted…”
“Hey, don’t feel sorry for yourself. You dodged a bullet there.”
“You really think that?.”
“Yeah, I do. You stood up for yourself and knew when to step back when it didn’t feel right. Not everyone has the balls to do that. Think how miserable you’d be by now if you had tried to please him or your mom. You seem happy now. That's what matters.” He means that with all his heart, and wishes he had the same drive to follow those same steps. As much as he loved the restaurant, he chose to run it to please people within his family. And that love turned into a nightmare he couldn't escape.
“You know… I liked you better when you were quiet,” she quips.
Michael huffs a soft laugh, picking up his brush to resume painting.
When the room is finished, she plugs a couple of fans and closes the door to keep Coco away.
Maya washes her hands and face in the bathroom sink. When she comes out, she catches the motion of Michael's arm as he shoves what looks like a pill into his mouth before taking a gulp of water from one of her glasses.
“What was that? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. It's just a headache,” looking down, he runs a palm over his short growing beard.
“Is it the fumes?”
“No, I had it before coming here.”
“Michael,” she sighs softly at his name. “You should've told me. I wouldn't have let you help if I knew.”
“Would you stop that? I wanted to help.”
“Okay, c'mere. Let's sit down.”
“No, I think I should get going.”
“Nonsense. I'm not going to let you drive until you feel better.”
He yields with a long exhale, and follows Maya into the living room, where her bed is settled askew in the middle of the space.
She takes a seat on the edge of the mattress and waits for him to sit next to her.
“Give me your hand,” she shows her palm up, as his eyes narrow. “C'mon, don't be a baby, give me your hand, Berzatto.”
“When did you become so bossy?” He slowly lifts his hand and as he lays it on top of her palm, his fingers tremble upon contact with her skin. Maya then uses her opposite hand to clip the webbing between his thumb and pointer fingers with her own and begins massaging that spot.
“My friend Sierra is really into acupressure. She says this is a pressure point that helps with headaches.” She explains while slowly increasing the force. “Does it hurt?”
“Not one bit. Is that like acupuncture?” His voice comes as a whisper as he focuses on her diligent fingers.
“Kinda. I think. I’m not really sure.”
“You don't have to fix me, you know?”
“I'm not trying to fix you, Bear. I just wanna make you feel better.”
“Admit it. You just love a good wounded animal.”
She smiles softly, placing his hand down on his knee and picking up the other. “Does it feel any different?”
He’s not really sure, it wasn’t truly a headache that led them to take that pill but the annoying rambling of his thoughts. She shouldn’t have seen that. And he shouldn’t have lied. But having her hands on his like this is straight up lovely. Inside of him, it truly feels like something is broken, wounded, and missing, and this is giving him a sliver of relief as he waits for the pill to kick in. If he was a better man, he’d tell her the truth. But he’s too far gone for saving. All he can do is keep that facade up.
“Does it?” She insists after not getting an answer.
“A little.”
“Do you wanna lay down?”
Swallowing, he responds with a nod, and they both lean back on the mattress at the same time. Looking at the ceiling, she keeps kneading that pressure point, unsure if she’s even doing it right.
They stay in comfortable silence for a good five minutes and when she finally places his hand down, Maya glances to the side and sees that his eyes have closed, and his chest gently rising and falling. She calls his name softly, but she can see that behind the sharp edges of his face and the ever-growing shade of his beard, he’s truly exhausted, so she doesn’t insist. She extends her hand to turn off the lamp, and curls on the other side of the bed without disturbing his sleep.
“Good night,” she says softly and closes her eyes.
From a dusty corner of her mind comes crawling that little forgotten part that used to harbor a lot of feelings for Michael. Though a few weeks ago he seemed practically the same Michael she knew, over the past month she’s keenly noticed little changes here and there. His eyes sometimes cast a dark shade tainted in nothing but sadness, it’s barely noticeable for other people. It comes and goes, but it tells her he’s not truly as happy as he pretends to be.
Tumblr media
Michael wakes up disoriented at the crack of dawn.
It takes him a few seconds to remember he’s still in Mayas’ bed in the middle of her living room and that the weight that has his arm pinned is her body pressed against his. She’s warmly snuggled on his side, with her arms tucked between his chest and hers, and a peaceful expression on her beautiful face. She’s so awfully close, he can smell the scent of her hair, and feel the heat of her breath every time she exhales.
It's such an odd moment for him to have her that close. He's unsure of whether it would be better to slip out of bed unnoticed before she wakes up, or just stay there and watch her sleep for a bit longer. Either option would make him look like a creep, he thinks. So he opts to gently wake her up. His free hand reaches to his forehead to move a stand of hair away. Her brow scrunches as his light-feather touch grazes her skin. His lips curve up as he traces the shell of her ear to see her stir awake. She blinks slowly a couple of times until her focus shifts onto him.
“Hey, Maybird.”
“Hey.” Her lips move, it's barely audible.
“Sorry, I fell asleep.” His fingers absentmindedly massage her earlobe.
She's so stunned by waking up to that level of intimacy, she simply nods, as her mouth softly draws a smile.
“It's fine. Does your head feel better?”
“Much better. That pressure thing really worked.”
“I'm glad.”
“Listen, I gotta go open. Maybe we could do something later?”
“Okay,” she swallows nervously, hoping that waking up with him like this isn't just a dream. “Can you do me a favor first?”
“Sure.”
“Can you stay five more minutes?”
“I uh… I think I can,” against his better judgment, he decides he can stay for a few minutes more holding her.
The way her lips pull up timidly at the corners, revealing the dimples framing her mouth, completely disarms him. He’s always felt a certain affinity towards her, but being this close to her awakes a longing within that feels dangerous. He can’t bring someone new into his life. Not while everything around him is falling apart. It’s already hard enough having to pretend around other people.
He couldn’t do that to her. He won’t.
Michael will have to fight harder because when her arm tucks around his waist he can’t help but press his lips against her forehead.

Chapter 4: Hard nut to crack
Four months later…
After that initial moment of weakness when he fell asleep on her bed, he fought hard to elude that odd longing that has only grown into a big mass of love toward Maya. To anyone else in the world, a feeling as big as that would be a blessing, especially when it's reciprocated. To Michael, it's a weakness he can't afford right now.
Spending all that time with Maya has been like discovering a whole new planet Michael never thought existed. She's all vast, uncharted territory that fazes him more than it should. Despite his best efforts, he’s fallen into her alluring orbit and can’t find the way out into his own universe.
Far gone is that moody teenager that would mumble a few words here and there. And now there's this tragically stunning woman that looks you directly in the eye, says anything that crosses her mind, and laughs without a care in the world.
Though falling in love with her wouldn’t be completely wrong, it's not quite right either. It fills him with guilt to think about her in that manner. Moreover, it feels like a betrayal to Carmy, who’s far away in a different continent, prospering in his craft.
Michael tries to fool himself into believing that this is just temporary infatuation. He’s even attempted several times to convince her to get in touch with Carmy but hasn’t succeeded. It’d be easier for him if she were to put her focus on someone else instead of him. He has nothing to offer to her and has deemed himself unworthy of her, or anyone for that matter. If she only knew what’s really going on with him, she wouldn’t want Michael nearly as she believes she does.
Layer by layer, she’s tearing all his walls and defenses down. And after all the back and forth, he's absolutely sure she wants more than he can offer her. She’s been giving him the right signals. She doesn't shy away from it. Maya is direct and impulsive, and everything about her is fascinating and intimidating.
It’s time to either cut her loose, or accept that he’s madly in love with her and do something about it.
Amidst coming to terms with a final decision, he's lured into a surprise party she's organized for his birthday.
Michael is left speechless by her determination. And a little annoyed too for reasons he can't explain. To be honest, he’s never been a fan of surprise parties, but the main problem is that this would make things much harder for him to let her down easily. She’s carved herself into his life and the longer he drags this out, the worse this is going to hurt.
He’s aware that it’s selfish and obtuse of him for being that ungrateful that someone who cares that profoundly about him, that they would go all out to prove that. He feels like an asshole, but the train has already left the station.
Using the same tiring self-defense mechanism, he draws his best smile and brings out the Michael everyone seems to love. Not without help. There's always that crutch tucked in his wallet in the form of a pill. Being high numbs him enough to deal with the situation.
The cherry on top comes at the end of the night, when he walks her up to her car and asks if he's had a good time. He lies through his teeth and for the first time, he can tell Maya is not buying it. Perhaps she never did, but he's well-versed on her tells by now, and he can clearly see she's fed up with all the bullshit that comes out of his mouth.
“Look, it's not that I didn't like the party. It's just that I hate surprises, and I was exhausted today. But it was a nice thought, sweetheart. I just… I wasn't in the right mood.” It's seemingly convincing the second time around, but her face shows nothing but regret. “I love the jacket you bought me, though.”
Michael has never been interested in fashion, but he's always loved vintage jackets, and the one she picked it's a perfect addition to his collection. It's a bomber jacket, aviator style, in brown leather with a couple of patches and fur collar.
As they reach Maya's car, they come to a stop. She turns to him, “I know I can be a little too much sometimes. But I promise no more surprises from now on.”
“You and I both know, you won’t be able to keep that promise even if your life depended on it. That's part of what makes you– you, sweetheart. Don’t let my bad mood ruin that.”
“I’ll try.”
After a beat, without hesitation she leans in to leave a goodnight kiss on his bearded cheek and on a whim, she decides to press a second one on his lips.
It takes him completely aback. He wants to dive so badly into her mouth, but he freezes on the spot. And when Maya attempts to deepen the kiss, he finally reacts by placing a placating hand on her shoulder as he pulls his head back.
“I'm… I'm sorry we can't do this, Maya.”
“Wait, I thought… Did I misread something?”
“No, you didn’t misread anything. I just can’t do this.”
“Why?”
“I can't.”
“You can't or don’t want to?”
“Guess I don’t want to.”
“Can you at least tell me why? Did I do something wrong?”
“You did nothing wrong, sweetheart.” He wants to spill out the old – it's not you, it's me – excuse, but he refrains. Every thought and action go against every good instinct he's ever had. He hates himself for making her feel insecure. And yet, he can't backtrack now.
“Stop calling me sweetheart. You see how misleading that is?”
“Sorry. I think I gave you the wrong impression.”
Her eyes narrow, and he can see the gears turning for a long moment before opening her mouth.
“I don't think you gave me the wrong impression, Michael. I think you're too chickenshit to admit that there's something between us and, for whatever reason, you're just taking the coward's way out. You've been weird the whole night, especially with me. I just threw a party just for you, the least you can do is tell me why.”
“I didn't ask you to do that. And I don't owe telling you shit! I was trying to let you go easy, but nothing is ever easy with you. So I'll just say it. This, you and me, is never going to happen.”
It sounds ridiculous as it comes out of his mouth, but he stands firm on that statement as her heart breaks in front of him.
In the end, it'd be better for her, he believes.

Could you please do a Sam Carpenter x fem reader in scream 6, where the reader takes tara to the frat party and comes back to find sam mad and then sam yells and the reader, but the reader really hates yelling, so the reader gets upset and like starts crying and sam feels really bad and comforts her? If not then it’s totally cool!! 🫶🫶
You for real?
Sam carpenter x reader, Tara carpenter x reader (platonic)
Tumblr media
Taking Tara to a frat party might have not been the greatest idea, but there were two factors that made you decide in favor of going. 1. She was gonna go anyway, if you came or not and the 2. She was saved when you were there, so you decided to go against everything that Sam told you and go with the younger carpenter.
It was great actually, you were having fun as you made sure both of you drank responsibly, you were laughing, talking, chatting and the be honest, you haven’t seen Tara this carefree in a while. But at some point you had to leave her alone, even if you didn’t drink a lot of alcohol you still had to pee. Not wanting to leave Tara alone, you searched for Mindy and Anika and left her there.
There was a line to the bathroom, so you were gone for about 20 minutes and when you came back the brunette was gone. Mindy and Anika said that she wanted to get another drink and hurried off before they could say anything. So you started a manhunt for her, walking through the complete house, pushing through tons of people, but nothing. Just as you started to panic Anika called for you, Tara was drunk next to a couple of stairs, some guy laying in front of the stairs and next to him: Sam.
Yeah, this was gonna be your end.
Tara and the rest, you and Sam included, stormed outside where the siblings started fighting while you stood next to them awkwardly waiting for you turn. “Guys” you started causing both of them to snap at you which shut you up. Again, Tara storms off which means it was now your turn:
What were you thinking huh?” Sam started, her voice already raised causing you to stutter. “I-Well- it’s just that” the older woman immediately interrupted you. “You know what, I don’t wanna hear it. You clearly weren’t thinking at all, like always. Jesus, it’s so hard to be with you. You are the reason Tara was in danger tonight, you know what could have happened?” She was now full on screaming at you as she was insulting you, the rest of the group awkwardly standing around watching. “Sam, come on. Listen to me” you started but it was no use. “No, I don’t wanna listen to you. You put my sister in danger because you wanted to party, do you know how selfish that is? God, you’re a bad girlfriend” the screaming was finally to much for you. You mumbled a quick ‘I’m sorry’ before running away. The second Sam turned to take a breath you were gone, only Mindy and Anika seeing you run.
And that’s how you ended up in your apartment, you didn’t go to the lectures you didn’t need to and only left your house when you really really had to. No one of the group had seen you or talked to you since then, not that they didn’t try. All off them constantly calling and texting but you never answered, the fight really took a toll on you.
You’ve always hated yelling, it reminded you of your childhood. It reminded you of how your parents yelled at each other on the daily, day and night. How your mother yelled at you for whatever your sister and father did wrong, it was always your fault and how your father yelled at you at night when he was drunk. It reminded you of how fucked up your life was and how you’ve never been enough, even not for the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally.
And now it reminded you of how you weren’t enough for Sam either.
It was around 1pm when someone knocked on your door. You didn’t move from your position on your couch, even when the knocking got louder. You tried to ignore it until it seemed like the person was gonna knock the door down, “y/n, will you just please open the door” it was Tara’s voice. “Y/n, just open the fucking door before I call the police to break it down” that actually made you open the door, this girl really pulled no stops.
So you slowly opened the door. Tara gasped when she saw you, you got thinner, with dark circles under your eyes. “Oh my god, are you okay?” She asked as she stepped into your apartment while you already sat back on the couch. “M alright” you mumbled. Tara looked at you for a moment, she contemplated if she should keep nagging you about it but she decided against it. It was clear that you didn’t wanna talk about it and needed a friend. That’s what she was here for. “Okay, let’s watch something huh?” She sat next to you, close enough so you could get some comfort. The whole movie you didn’t say a word, she also kept quiet when she saw your teary eyes and the way your head kept sagging down.
“Well, I gotta go. But y/n, please talk to us, get out of your apartment and talk to Sam” she said, hugging you before she left.
“Tara where the fuck were you?” Sam asked as soon as the younger carpenter entered, “I was at y/n’s” she answered as she walked to the kitchen. “And you couldn’t have given me a heads up?” She asked annoyed. “No. But I’ll give you a heads up now. She has a lecture tomorrow from 8-9:30 am. Afterwards you will wait in front of the lecture and you will talk to her” Tara told her sister. “Tara-“ this time it was Sam who got interrupted, “I wanted to go to that party. It was MY decision. She tagged along to make sure I’m safe and not drunk. I got drunk when SHE was on the toilet because I ran away from Mindy and Anika. SHE saved me from 4 guys before you came who tried to touch me. Sam you broke her, I don’t know what you really said but it really broke her” Sam sighed and nodded before going to her room.
The next morning you went to your lecture without a second thought. It was one you couldn’t skip, not again. So you and the girl from the apartment next to you, Kim, went together, she was a nice girl. The last days she came by to bring you food that wasn’t fast food to make sure you were okay, she had met your parents a couple of times already. She knew more than your friend group. “You alright? You haven’t been eaten much huh?” She asked as you walked to campus, “I haven’t been hungry” she hummed as she looked at the ground.
The lecture was boring but it did help you. But that doesn’t mean that you weren’t happy when it was over. Kim laughed about something you just said as she threw her arm around your shoulder but for you the world suddenly moved in slow motion when you saw Sam on the campus. Her brows furrowed when she saw the woman next to you but she made her way towards you nonetheless. “Y/n” she said when you came to a halt in front of her, you only nodded while Kim kinda glared at the woman. “Can I have a moment alone with my girlfriend ?” Sam asked which caused Kim to look at you for approval, you nodded and she left.
“How can I help you?” You asked Sam who was just starting at you, her eyes wandering down your body, it was clear to see that your skinny jeans were now at least one size to big on you. “Let me walk you home, I wanna talk” you looked at her kinda wary as your brows furrowed, “only talking, no screaming” she added which made you nod. You walked next to each other in silence, just walking next to her made your body scream for physical touch but you were to shy to initiate anything. Sam seemed to either think the same or notice as she locked your pinkies together.
When you arrived you settled on to the couch. “What happened y/n?” Sam asked you as she turned to look at you, “nothing. Everything’s alright” you answered, trying to keep your guard up, “it’s not. Stop lying” her voice was more energetic than before, “I’m not lying” you mumbled. “Of course you are. Goddamnit, its always the same with you. You can’t just suddenly stop talking to all of us and lie to us. Just be honest one time” she raised her voice at you, again which made you cower. “Sure, act all scared now. Can’t you just act like a grown adult for once? Im so over this” This time she was full on screaming again which send you into hyperventilation.
Looking back, you believe that this is the moment that Sam finally opened her eyes.
“Y/n?” She called out but you didn’t react as you were to busy trying to calm yourself. She mumbled your name a couple of times before she slowly sat next to you. Unsure of what to do, she just opened her arms. You immediately threw yourself into them, your arms wrapping around her shoulders while hers hugged your waist tightly. The moment she squeezed your waist she gasped, you were scarily thin. “I’m sorry, I said I wouldn’t yell and I did” she mumbled, pressing you to her body to calm your breath. That in combination with her smell did the trick as you slowly started to calm down.
In that moment you hated how at home you felt in her arms, even after she screamed at you while she knew that you hated being yelled at. But you couldn’t change it, she was your person, if you wanted it to be or not.
“I’m so sorry. For screaming and saying all those things I said. I was scared for Tara and my brain went into circuit, I only thought about what could have happened to the two of you at that party but I didn’t think about what didn’t happen because you were there to look öfter her. I should have listened to you afterwards, I was mad and cut you off which was wrong. And you are a great girlfriend, you looked out for Tara as if she was your sister and you’re dealing with my overprotectiveness all the time. I’m so sorry for hurting you” you laid in her arms in silence, you didn’t say a word, unsure of your feelings. The anxiety attack wore you out and you had to fight to keep your eyes open which Sam seemed to notice. “Maybe you should sleep a bit, it looks like you didn’t do that for a while” she mumbled as she laid the two of you down on the couch. “You staying?” You mumbled sleepily, “if you want me to” the way you tightened your arms around her seemed to be answer enough.
This was your first attempt of sleeping since the party where you weren’t haunted by nightmares of your childhood. It was the sleep you needed the last couple of days.
But when you woke up Sam wasn’t under you anymore which made you panic, you shot up from the couch looking around to see her phone on the small table in front of the couch. You smiled lightly when you saw her background, it was a picture of you two at a some stupid party Chad brought you, you were making out while Sam held you up against a wall. Mindy took the picture back then.
The fact that her phone was still there made you calm down a bit. A sudden sound from the kitchen gave you her location as you slowly walked towards the room to find her standing in front of the stove. “What are you doing?” You asked as you stood next to her causing her to jump slightly. “Shit you scared me. I’m making you food, it’s obvious that you haven’t really eaten the last couple of days so you are now!” You only nodded slightly. The way Sam gave you a certain type of comfort even after a fight was so weird to you but at the same time it made you believe that you were meant to be.
You suddenly shuddered next to her causing her to look over, “are you cold? Do you want me to get you a hoodie?” She asked as her left hand rubbed over your arm but you only shook your head before looking between her and her hoodie that laid on the kitchen table. The older woman chuckled before grabbing it and helping you put it on. Her clothing was to big on you which made you look even cuter.
“Here, eat up” she said as she put a plate of your favorite food down in front of you. “Thank you” you mumbled and started picking at your food. The way you still didn’t eat anything made Sam sigh, “look, what can I do to fix this? I hate seeing you like this and I despise the fact that I’m the problem” you looked at her for a moment before finally speaking up. “Am I good enough for you?” The way you asked the question broke her heart, you were more than enough for her and the fact that you thought you weren’t hurt her. “Of course you are. You are the greatest person I know baby. Why would you ask that?” you gave her a teary smile. “Everybody who screamed at me always did it because I wasn’t enough for them” you mumbled out and Sam grabbed your hand. “These people were assholes! You’re more than enough okay? I screamed because I have a short tamper but I will work on that alright? I promise you I’ll be working on that and I’ll try to never scream at you again alright? Plus, you can have all the hoodies you want” you giggled out slightly and nodded before eating your food.
“Should we meet up with the others?” You asked as you stood in front of the bathroom mirror after showering. “No, I want you for myself tonight” Sam smiled as she hugged you from behind, her hair also wet from the shower you just took. “Let’s get to bed. You need sleep” she grabbed your hand and led you away but not before stealing a kiss from you.
You laid in bed cuddled up not even 15 minutes later. “I love you” the brunette mumbled into your hair pressing a kiss there. “I love you too” you smiled before leaning up and kissing her.

on the court — basketball player!nrk x fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You only wanted to support your older brother, Jake on his basketball game. Even how smoothly their game was going, you didn't expect that you'd be the reason why a few points have costed your brother's team. Not entirely your fault, of course.
fluff, romance, comedy, humor, warnings— not proofread/errors ahead, Ni-ki and Y/N share the same age, Y/N can drive a car, half-assed ending kinda... I tried my best, 2.3k wc + reblogs are greatly appreciated!
additional notes— Italicized parts means flashbacks , used the K-12 school system in this fic... to avoid confusion, Jake is a 6th year student (Senior high) which is he's along in the age of 20 yrs old and both Y/N and Riki are in their 4th year (Junior high) which makes them both 18 yrs old! , reader's brother was originally Heeseung so please point it out for me in my inbox if Heeseung's name is still mentioned here TT I might've missed a part , author's note at the end.
You could sense the bright contrast in between your closed eyes. Slowly going back to your full consciousness, you open your eyes. Widening the gap of your lids, everything was bright and rather blurry. You could feel yourself laying on a soft mattress. The room was white, though a figure of your current vision paved the way of the brightness. Your eyes immediately met with the dark figure just beside you, sitting. You wondered if it was Keeho, however, from what you remembered, he didn't look like that, nor dressed like that earlier.
As your vision becomes clearer, it was to your dismay that it really wasn't your friend beside you.
Someone who had short hair, subtle blonde streaks, and his face structure was sharp. He was wearing casual clothes now. Not the fit you remembered him wearing when you last lay your vision on him.
His brows rose in surprise as he had met his gaze with yours.
"You're awake!" he exclaimed.
You don't know who he was.
He was a stranger. A man, just someone whom you have never met. So how did you get yourself here, waking up from unconsciousness with an unfamiliar worried man beside you in the first place?
Your hands control the wheels as you try to drive hastily. Your friends were counting on you to get to the sports center in time, with numerous phone calls from Sieun, adding the endless vibrating from your phone already makes you feel the pressure. You didn't let yourself drown in your own thoughts. All you wanted was to get there in time and have enough space to get seats.
"Yn?!"
"Took you long enough."
You have finally met with Keeho and Sieun outside the stadium, both of them having their arms crossed, frustrated by your late entry.
"Sorry guys. Traffic." You gently rub your nape, letting out a nervous laugh.
"Traffic my ass." Sieun said, who started to make her way inside the stadium. Both you and Keeho followed along her steps as she rants about your tardiness. You didn't mind, you were used to Sieun complaining like this and instead of being irritated, and besides, she doesn't seem to take her rants about things like these that seriously.
All of you went into the inner stadium to see hundreds of people crowding inside, attempting to spot places to sit.
"Sieun calm down, besides we have seats now." Keeho assured. The seats you three in were beside the court. Like literally beside the court. You could see all the athletes clearly just a distance from you, preparing for the game.
"What a jackpot. Surprising for a really crowded stadium… This should've been occupied by now." Sieun stated, her frustrations on where to sit have now faded, now that the best seats are now taken by them.
After a good minute of prepping yourselves, you saw a man's figure on the court jogging towards your direction, and to all of your excitement, It was your brother.
"Jake!" You all greeted him in unison, eyes sparkling at the sight of the man making his way towards where you guys stand.
"You all should thank me for that." He spoke, patting his sweaty forehead with a face towel.
"Look at our Jake! The captain of the Decelis basketball team." Sieun stated, nudging the side of Jake's arms.
"We know you'll do good out there dude!" Keeho added.
"The opponent stands no chance against y'all." You added once more, your hand messing his hair.
"Now I'm more encouraged to beat their asses." Jake remarked, extremely appreciative by the boost from his little sister and his dear friends.
The three of you continue to show him your full support as he waves goodbye, jogging back to his teammates.
The Stadium was filled with people, all of the seats were occupied and the continuous echoes filling the stadium made you hyped. The two schools that are competing are none other than two of the most prestigious schools in your country, and given to you that this is the semifinals means there's more to it after this one.
And you wanted to see your school compete once more in the Grand Finals.
The game started and you cheered for Jake and his team. They were doing good, you were having a positive thought on this game however you'd already expect the other team to hog scores a few minutes into the match. Being that this is the semifinals, competition would be difficult.
You spent the whole game just yelling and cheering at any given time, to the point that you finally felt the sting on your throat, causing your voice to rasp and unable to reach your voice at a high volume. So instead of forcing your voice to yell, you just sat and watched the game quietly.
As you watch everyone, your eyes went from anyone else on your brother's team to only a certain teammate of his.
He was cute, even better at playing than Jake in your opinion.
His hair was elegant, even if he's sweaty, his hair looked like it's been newly washed, in basic terms, fresh even. His eyes were sinister yet looked so adorable.
Your eyes were locked onto his figure, and when he shot the ball you quickly stood up, screaming "Yeah!" with your distorted voice, not even considering your current sore throat.
Sieun and Keeho were too focused to notice that you started cheering for one player only. After all, their support was on the whole decelis basketball team, so they wouldn't send suspicious glances on your way.
After a few more rounds, with Decelis leading, an unexpected circumstance may have cost a few points off of Decelis.
And you weren't expecting that you would partly be the reason why.
You were just about to get your phone
As another Decelis member makes his way on the court, he stops just a few steps in front of you. Your eyes gazing at the man then back to the one you seem to have all the attention on, passing the ball to the guy in front of you.
You saw the ball getting tossed to the player in front of you, yet suddenly he dodges. You on the other hand, was unable to move at the exact time you see the ball going directly to you.
"So… that's what happened...?" You raised a brow. Sitting comfortably on the infirmary bed as you were just all ears on the whole story you got here.
The other nods guiltily, having his head lowered as he does so. Stealing glances on your way.
Your memories slowly gathered in your head, and the last thing you realized is that this was the man you had all your attention to earlier during the game.
Your mind sets elsewhere other than the worrisome point of the whole predicament, you were giggling in your conscience that this was destined to happen… Of course, you had delusions get the best of you, though you were still able to show a calm and collected demeanor.
"I'm so sorry by the way, I didn't mean to," He took a deep breath, "I was surprised when Yeonjun dodged it. I didn't even know I passed it really hard."
He now had the courage to look at your state. His eyes correspond to a frightened puppy and you were not gonna lie that it was adorable to see him feel so disappointed in himself for a minor ruckus.
You didn't even have a bruise or a black eye, you just had a mild concussion, laying unconscious until you finally opened your eyes returning you to your normal state.
But if you were in his shoes, you'd totally feel the same as him now.
"I'm so sorry, I had to insist of backing out from the game in the meantime to look after you,"
"Jake was supposed to be the one here but I insisted on staying since I'm the one who you know…" He hit his hand as it was gestured to a C. You perked up your lips at his demonstration, also finding his constant apologies quite adorable.
He really did regret it a lot, though you didn't mind.
"Hey, it's fine. I don't think it's that serious. "You reassured, the other only gazed at you intently.
"You don't have to worry about it, I'm perfectly fine… But besides that now, I haven't seen you before," Riki's eyebrow rose, not expecting those words.
"Maybe because I barely visit my brother's practices but I swear when I do, I never see you practicing with them."
"Oh, I must've not been in them… Sometimes I don't attend practices for reasons, so maybe you came to watch when I wasn't in them? Just maybe." He gushed, you only sat to hear more of his stories… You slowly faw over his presence as he talks about his likes, dislikes, favorite places, and basketball stories all in a span of 10 minutes. You couldn't imagine if Jake was the one to look over you instead, he'd probably make fun of you while you were unconscious or so.
Well, Jake isn't actually like that, you were just thankful to have him give in and prioritize winning for his team rather than looking after you and costing them a few more points. Which led him to look after you…
Who's… him?
Your eyes widen to the man talking in front of you, unaware of his name during the whole conversation. How can both of you be this dunce at the same time.
As you were about to ask for his name, he stood up. "I better head back to the game, since you're feeling much better now,"
You only nodded in response.
"I'll tell Jake his girlfriend is doing okay!"
Hold up— What?
You winced confusingly at the words that left his mouth. He's getting the wrong idea.
As his figure fades any further you yelled a "wait!" On his way, the boy frighteningly stopped his tracks, facing you once more.
"Let me introduce myself…" You spoke up, a mere suggestion for him to do the same as well.
"O-Oh… OH!— I'm sorry, I think I introduced myself when you were still unconscious on that bed… I'm Nishimura Riki! I'm in my 4th year."
"Oh… I'm also a 4th year student."
Riki subconsciously tilt his head, as if he's questioning so much just by the similar years you two are in.
"I didn't know Jake likes girls way below his age."
You winced once more. This was a gross assumption, you couldn't imagine being in this type of situation yet you're here now.
"I'm Y/N," You paused for absolutely no reason, probably for the effect.
"I'm Jake's sister."
Riki's heart sank, immediately having countless daggers of embarrassment stabbed him way through all of his body. He couldn't imagine this was happening, he genuinely thought that you were dating their captain. When he saw you and two other people going through a tough crowd in order to get into the three vacant seats so close to the court, he thought you were one of the prettiest among the crowds. It was silly of him to think that to a random girl of course, though having your presence made him more competitive and encouraged him to do his best in order for you to see him shine (and indirectly impress you).
He did feel quite disappointed when their team captain, Sim Jaeyun, ran towards you and you began ruffling his hair so cutely. Losing his hope and backing out on his interest to you since he didn't wanna meddle in relationships he shouldn't be in, also he doesn't like when their captain gets angry, and common knowledge is that homewrecking is absolutely bad.
Tracing his thoughts back to reality, his face slowly turned tinted red, flustered at the utter embarrassing assumption that he held with himself for the whole time he looked after you.
"I… I am.. I'm- I'm so sorry!" He freaked out.
"I didn't know, so I assumed you two— Why did I even assume that you two were a thing?! "
"Why did you?" You questioned calmly, a cheeky smile plastered on your face, cutting off his freaking out state.
"I-It's just I saw… you teasing Jake earlier, like messing his hair and all— so yeah, you were doing that before the match started and I just thought there was a romantic kick to it, you know?"
"And you looked at our way because…?"
"I looked to your way because you were the most prettiest girl I have ever seen and I kept my eyes on you for the remainder of the time you and your friends were reaching to the vacant seats near the court, that I also assumed that Jake saved for you and your friends…" The man inhaled deeply as he said all of that in one breath.
You could only widen your eyes at his confession, subconsciously perking the edges of your lips at how adorable he is when he's this flustered.
"I'm sorry I think I said too much—"
"No no, don't be… I think that's really sweet of you." You held your screams of triumph in, wanting to stay calm and collected.
"Since you said that, I'll just say that you also caught my attention while you were on the court,"
You paused, your heart picking up an intense pace, your eyes locking to his.
"I'm kinda glad I got you to look after me rather than my annoying brother." You joked, rolling your eyes at the mention of your brother.
"Hey, your brother was actually really worried when you got… you know."
"I knew he would be."
You both exchanged warm smiles, repeatingly nodding your head's at each silent thought.
"You should probably go back now, they need you there."
"Oh right! Are you gonna go back… also?"
"I will, I won't miss you owning that court...
Just like earlier. "
Riki's smile widens, more encouraged than ever to go back to the game and show you what he can really do.
"I'll look for you after the game, I promise."

Authors note: It's honestly SO embarrassing that I'm posting this now LMAOAOAOA.
Uhm. I'm sorry. I hope you guys enjoy and leave some nice comments or feedback or anything tbh. And send me an ask, or comment below to be added to the tag list.
____________________________________________
Are you sure?” My uncle asks sceptically.
“Yes I'm sure.” I tell him firmly.
This is the 10th time he's asked me this question today alone. What's a therapist gonna do? Besides, I'm sick of him pretending to care.
“Uncle, I'm not really sure why you're so insistent on this. Is it because the press is outside? They want to interview you?”
It's a sharp dig at him and I know it. He's never cared about his own brother, never visited.
He scowls at me, “Careful, might I have to remind you that it isn't your father that's taking care of you, putting you in the best room with the best doctors.”
I glare at him as he walks away from the room. Well atleast the pathetic nice act is gone.
Kyungsoo enters my room soon again, throwing a careful glance at my uncle. He was a big shot after all. With his more than successful firm.
“You good?” He asks.
“Yeah, um I think I'll just go for a walk.” I tell him rather shortly.
“Sure.” He says quietly, probably assuming I had an argument.
But truth be told, I'm avoiding him. I'm getting attached to someone who's just tolerating me for their job. It's not his fault I know but I can't get attached to those who won't stay once I'm up and gone.
My mind goes to Jay for a tiny second. Hm. Maybe I should talk to a therapist. The dreams stopped for two days and usually I would be overjoyed at the idea of not just one but two full nights rest.
But I woke up feeling uneasy, I made a promise to Jay, someone who exists only in my head. But I made a promise nevertheless.
There are so many things I want to ask him, so many.
Why do I have no dreams? Why is it that I only ever have a blackout or nightmares?
Why is he saving me?
I know I shouldn't, but my curiosity has gotten the better of me. I look down at my fisted hands and open them. There are two sleeping pills, I stole it from a nurse's bag when she wasn't looking.
Sleeping pills and I aren't the best of friends. Sure they help me not have a meltdown from not being able to sleep for almost 20 hours but they also give me the worst types of nightmares.   Which right now happens to be something that I need.
“Goodnight.”Kyungsoo tries to smile at me.
I meekly smile back , eager to down the pills and meet the one person who actually wants me to stay.
_________________________________________
The pills go down my throat ten minutes later. The small light creates a shadow of me in front.  The shadows shift, turning and twisting and I watch fascinated as they give a performance for me.
I'm not afraid, a part of my brain thinks. What are the shadows going to do? They've been with me forever. Taunting me, trying to manipulate me. I've never given into any of their tricks. I've never trusted them.
But when I'm all alone now, in a tiny closet peeking out from the hole and watching the shadows linger my heart picks up its beat.
They come and they disappear again and again. I look through the tiny peep the closet gives and realise soon as they go behind every nook and creek that they are looking for none other than me.

My hands reach out to clasp my mouth shut. My body folds itself as small as it can possibly go. Will the shadows think to look here too?
I shut my eyes forcefully. My other senses heightened until I could feel everything around me. The musty smell of the closet, my fingernails digging into themselves.  My feet numb, paralyzed.
My breathing becomes slower, my arms start to unclench. I think they're gone. I think I can get out now. Escape to a place where they can't catch me.
Before I know it, before I can even pull my hands away from myself. There's a strange hiss that comes inches away from me. A hand grabs my ankle and pulls me hard enough that I don't have time to scream.
My head bangs against the hard wooden doors as I'm being pulled away. The impact is so hard that I can only clutch my head and groan as the hands keep pulling me away, dragging me on the rough wooden floors.
The splinters catch on clothes and skin. My chin is bleeding, but I can't even stop. Can't even catch a hold of myself as I try to catch myself breathlessly.
There's a sharp turn to the right, and that's when I know that the shadows aren't just pulling me along aimlessly , they have a destination in mind.
My eyes scan around desperately trying to catch hold of something to stop.
Just then, a hand- a solid, real and warm hand catches me. A sudden stop to the journey.
I know who it is before I can even look up. I clasp my hands with his. The shadows aren't pleased, they hiss and linger around My ankles.
But when his hand keeps tugging me in, the shadows start to dissolve, materialise into nothing, losing their power.
Jay's hands pull me again, even when the shadows disappear, he doesn't let go and I don't either.
When I gain a little strength into my limbs I finally pull away from the embrace. I look into his eyes, they are wide and scared, maybe even more than mine.
“Thank yo-”
“Why didn't you come?? You made a promise and you leave me all alone here?!” Jay yells angrily.
I pull away completely.  I was happy to finally see him again, but seeing his bloodshot face. The look of absolute rage in his eyes makes me stop. Brings the familiar uneasy feeling back into my stomach.
“I'm sorry.” I mumble.
Jay looks at my crestfallen face, and immediately his face softens.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you. I was just scared you left forever.” He says softly, “You're hurt a lot this time. Come here, let's clean you up.”
He rips off a piece of his sleeves and starts dabbing it on my wounds.
His reassuring words don't chase away the moths in my stomach.
“Jay..do you think I should see a therapist?”
Jay frowns at my words, “A therapist? What's that?” He asks curiously.
“Umm. It's someone who helps you with your problems, like stress, anxiety…nightmares.”
Jay stiffens upon that. His hand paused on my chin.
“But why…? I can save you. I save you every time.”
I shake my head,
“I can save you again, you won't even have to get hurt next time. Just trust me. That's all you need to do!”
I take his hands in mine, his eyes are trembling,
“What happens when you can't?”
“..what”
“What happens when one day you can't save me? I can wake up, but what about you? What if something happens to you instead?”
He shakes his head intently, “I don't care, I only exist because of you. If you're gone, then I'm alone again, I have no purpose.”
I stay silent at that, avoiding his eyes.
The world around me seems to shift again, faster than it did before.
“I think I'm waking up now.”
“Yeah.”
“Can't you…can't you appear in my dreams too? Not just nightmares?”
“I don't know.”
I can feel my resolve slipping at the sight of his tired face. He looks my age, but at this moment his face seems to have gone through a millenia worth of sadness.
“I'll come back okay?”
Jay just nodded. His fingers slip away from mine as he watches me disappear again. I never stay for long. He wonders whether it's because I can't or I don't want to.
Jay fidgets with his fingers even after I'm gone.
He thinks long and hard about how he could make me stay. Every time I've left, it's only because he saved me.
What happens when he makes me believe that she can't escape the nightmare anymore?

She Thinks I'm Handsome. Steve Rogers x Reader Short Story
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/n is terribly tipsy. Having only had one margarita, Nat texted Steve to come take her home. Y/n's tipsiness makes her admit something to Steve. Something she didn't mean to say out loud.
Warnings: mentions alcohol, reader being tipsy, and lots of fluff. Wrote on my phone with little editing.
Word count: 1,034
Inspired by: pin and a scene in the movie New In Town with Rene Zellweger, but I couldn't find it on YouTube.
Tumblr media
Y/n couldn't stop giggling at the dinner table. Everything was just hilarious.
"Y/n you only had one margarita.... Are you sure you're ok?" Nat asked, sitting back in her chair, eyes wide with concern.
"I'm mine. I mean time. I MEAN I'm fine." Y/n replied, giggling at her own inability to speak coherently.
"Yeah. Sure you are. I told you this was a terrible idea." Nat whispered to Wanda.
"She told me she wanted to come! Besides, how is it my fault that she's a lightweight?" Wanda argued as if Y/n wasn't sitting right there.
"I am not a lightweight! I'm good." Y/n protested like a child not getting the sweets it wanted.
"Of course you are. You definitely aren't talking like someone who's done 20 wisky shots." Nat answered sarcastically.
"What are we gonna do? My car only has two seats. Unless we tape you to the roof." Wanda asked in a whisper. "I've got an idea." Natasha said conspiratorially, taking her phone out. "Who are you texting?" Wanda asked, an eyebrow rasing. "You know who," Nat said in a sing-song way. "You can not text him!" "Why not? They need a push." "She's about to fall over. " "Good. Let him play knight in shiny armor." "You know this wasn't I meant when I said we should set them up." "Well, it's what we're doing. He already responded and said he's on his way. Way too much of a gentlemen to abandon a maid in distress." "You are having way too much fun with this." Wanda sighed, leaning on her hand.
A few minutes later, y/n was trying to explain something to the girls, grabbing random bits and pieces of information and giving it to them as of it should all make sense.
The door to the cozy little restaurant opened and he walked inside. Spotting them easily and coming over to collect Y/n. Her back was to him so she had no idea of his presence.
Nat and Wanda remained completely silent as he approached giving him knowing and teasing looks. Nat mouthed "get her out" to which he couldn't help but smile.
It wasn't till he placed a gentle hand on y/n's shoulder that she noticed him at all.
"Steve!" She gasped much too loudly and drawing the attention of some of the other guests. "I didn't think you'd be here!" She said wobbling to her feet and throwing her arms around his neck. She'd never done that before. They've never exchanged any sort of hug before. So he shot the other two a look of complet and utter shock as his face turned three shades of pink.
"How much did y'all let her drink?" He demanded. "Steve. She had one margarita." Wanda deadpanned. Steve looked at Y/N and back to them, his brows raised in amazement. "Just one?" He asked. "One. And it wasn't even that big." Nat replied, lips forming into a smirk. "Wanda only has two seats in her car, and I road with her. So I figured you'd be happy to get Y/n home safely." She continued.
Steve put an arm around Y/n's shoulder in an attempt to steady her, grabbing her coat off the back of the chair, he said "c'mon. Let's get you home." "But I don't wanna!" She complained. "Y/n, you should go with Steve. We're gonna head out too." Wanda assured her. "Fine." She whispered/mumbled letting him guide her out.
Once they were outside the resturant she looked around wildly. "Where's your car?" "It's down the block. I couldn't find a spot here." "Oh. Where's my coat?" "That's right here." He answered holding it up to help her get into it. "Watch your hands. Mr Handys Hands." She slurred. "I'm. I'm not doing anything." Steve said blushing again.
She took a few steps forward and then stumbled into the street some. "Wait, wait, wait. My car isn't over there, " He spoke, quickly pulling her back.
"I'm fine. I'm fine." She assured him, walking along again, taking wobbly but somewhat straight steps.
Steve rubbed the back of his neck nervously and followed after her.
"Ok," He said after they had walked just a little bit further. "My car is right there"
Then she dashed up to a car that somewhat resembled his and started rapidly pulling on the handle causing the car alarm to go off.
"That. That wasn't my car." Steve said sounding embarrassed.
He used his key for, unlocked his car, before softly grabbing her by the arm and getting her seated inside. Taking a deep breath before coming round to get himself. He was gonna get Natasha for this. She had been teasing him about his growing affection for Y/n for months. She was trying to push his hand.
The drive home wasn't as crazy as the walk to the car had been. Y/n sat starring out the window commenting on the pretty city lights, how she liked the outfits of some of the pedestrians they passed, and got very excited when they stopped next to a car which had a Scottish Terrier in it.
He couldn't help smiling he was actually enjoying the drive with her.
When they finally pulled up to her house, he got out and came around to help her out. Not trusting that she'd be able to get out of the car and onto the curb without tripping.
Arm around her shoulder, he helped her to the door. Where she struggled to get the key into the lock. "Here," He said trying to take the key from her. "I got it. I got it." She said trying again to get the key go in. "Let me help." He said gentily taking it from her.
She finally looked up at up him and whispered "Gosh. You're handsome," pausing, her lips forming an O shape. "I just said that out loud, didn't I?"
Steve smiled broadly, "Yes. Yes, you did."
So he helped her inside and made sure she was settled with a glass of water and aspirin for the morning and then went home himself.
Whispering to himself, "She thinks I'm handsome."
(I know I haven't posted the next part in That's My Girl. Got a bit of writers block as to how to finish the chapter. I'll try to have it done by Wednesday. )

One Night Stand Pt2 (e.o)
Part 2 was requested hope you enjoy it 😊
Lizzie x G!P reader
the one night stand one shots are also 2 of my favourites haha
Y/ns POV:
It's been 3 month since I've found out I'm going to be a mom and honestly I'm so fucking excited I've been there for lizzie day and night she was hesitant at first but I assured her I wanted to be there even if it was something stupid like Mcdonalds cravings at 4am and she's had alot of them but I honestly don't mind its my fault she has the crazy cravings and honestly the look on her face when i turn up with her food is priceless shes so fucking adorable, I'm currently on my way to pick her up we have a 3 month scan or check up I'm not 100% sure I pull up outside her house and climb out of the car and head to the front door knocking after a few minutes a glowing lizzie opens the door with a smile "y/n heyyy right on time" she beams me a smile as she leans in to hug me "lizzie hey you look amazing, pregnancy looks amazing on you" I tease hugging her tight "shut up I'm in this position partly because of you" I giggle and take her hand "well gorgeous it takes 2 to tango you wanted me desperately remember " I smirk teasing her playfully, i open her door as we head to the doctors office chatting and laughing "you know I can't wait to find out what we're having so I can spoil my little Prince or princess" I say with a smile and she looks at me with a strange look it looks like she's admiring me "you're gonna be a great mom you've been nothing but supportive towards me and i appreciate you" she smiles placing her hand on my hand "I told you at the start I wanted to be here for you and our baby" I lift her hand and place a gently kiss on it as I park and we head into the doctors office.
20 minutes later her name gets called "Elizabeth Olsen " the nurse yells and we stand up to head inside I take her hand to reassure her as we walk into the office "hey doc" I smile as I sit on the chair and lizzie lays on the bed "so you guys excited to find out what your having" she smiles bright and I nod excitedly "so excited I squeeze lizzies hand" the doctor does her thing and looks over at me "so are you guys together " she bites her lip as I look at lizzie confused then at the doctor "um no were not together but I plan on being there for her and our baby, why" she smirks as she looks at lizzie then back at me "well can I have your number I'd love to take you out for dinner and a few drinks" I feel a little awkward and rub my neck as lizzie looks at me with disgust "you can go out with her with you want y/n" she says with a hint of sadness to her voice I look at the doctor "I'm sorry I'm not really looking to date or hook up with anyone at the moment Elizabeth and our unborn child are my only priority for the foreseeable I'm sorry" she looks disappointed and then smiles "no I understand by the way you guys are having a baby girl " I smile and look at lizzie as she smiles "Holy shit were having a baby girl" my eyes start to water as the tears flow and I lean down to hug lizzie.
after i dropped lizzie home i went home to relax and look into buying stuff for my daughter im currently looking at cribs as my phone dings grabbing my attention as i grab it a smile appears on my face as i see lizzies name on the screen
Lizzie: Hey thank you for being there today it meant alot youre an amazing human being and the doctor would have been lucky to get a date with you x
Me: My priority isn't to date someone at the moment you and our baby are my priority maybe in a year or 2 when we get everything sorted and know what we're doing with our daughter but until I know my baby is going to have a stable routine dating can wait 🤷🏼‍♀️ also why arnt you asleep lizzie it's almost 1am
I send the text and smile moving the laptop onto the couch as my phone dings again
Lizze: Well me and our daughter are lucky to have someone who's willing to put us first before some skank, and I um I can't sleep I have cravings I really want Mcdonalds and tacos
I giggle and put my clothes on grabbing my car keys and phone heading straight to my car without replying to her text I go to Mcdonalds and get her the normal cravings she's gross she dips the nuggets into the strawberry milkshake but it's cute after Mcdonalds I head to get tacos and drive to her house I get there roughly 15 minutes after she text me, I knock and step back waiting after a few minutes lizzie opens the door and instantly smiles wide "y/n omg what are you doing here" I pull the bags from behind my back and smirk "delivery for my baby mama"
I walk inside as she wraps her arms around me "god your fucking amazing and perfect thank you " we go sit on the couch and eat in comfortable silence I can't help but steal glances she's fucking beautiful "y/n..." she whispers looking at me "what's up gorgeous you ok" she gets closer to me and rubs my arm "I need something else that I don't want from anyone else except you" I look at her confused "and what would that be Elizabeth " she bites her lip and climbs on top of my lap straddling me, I bite my lip as I take in what's happening  "I need you inside me im so horny y/n and I want you I've tried to hold back for so long but I need you" I place my hands on her waist and lean in placing a gentle kiss on her neck as she let's out a content sigh and holds my hair "please I need you no teasing I'm to horny" with that I pick her up holding her by the ass and head upstairs to her bedroom I'm not gonna lie I'm so horny too I've not slept with anyone since lizzie and doing it alone isn't the same "such a needy little slut for my cock huh" she moans and nods as I smirk and place her on the bed gently as I start to take my clothes off and she does the same till we're both naked she lays back looking at me longingly biting her lip "fuck lizzie you looks so fucking gorgeous you're perfect " I take in her body as I step forward "Holy shit look at those tits" I say with a grin they're huge "well someone decided to knock me up now they're twice as big" she giggles as she plays with my nipples earing a moan, I lean down and kiss her as my dick rubs against her soaking wet cunt fuck she's dripping "your needy little cunt is dripping baby" I whisper into her ear as her nails dig into my shoulders "I think about you when I touch myself when I need to cum I think about your dick deep inside me" I let out a groan and slide my dick inside her slowly as she gasps digging her nails in more "fuckk I forgot how big you actually where y/n" her moans are music to my ears I start thrusting slowly looking deep into her eyes and smirk "shit should we use a condom don't want to risk getting you pregnant " we both laugh as I kiss her perfect lips thrusting a little faster as moans into my mouth "uhhh yes right there y/n right fucking there" I pick up my pace making sure to hit the spot that drives her wild over and over I feel the knot in my stomach as lizzie cums all over my cock panting breathing heavily "fuck baby give me one more"
I moan as I lean my head against hers and pick up my pace chasing my own high "so fucking tight for me lizzie" I moan fucking her a little faster as her tits bounce like mad  "all for you baby my pussy is yours no one will ever pleasure me like you" I bite my lip as her walls tighten around my cock and she creams all over me again her moans and screams are enough to send me over the edge I thrust a few more times as I cum deep inside her cunt "fuckkkk lizzie" I moan as I go to slide out and she whimpers "no y/n no please keep it in I wanna cuddle with you with your dick inside me i wanna feel your body close to mine i wanna feel close to you" i feel my dick twitch and get hard again as she moans at the feeling of my dick growing inside her, I lay on my side pulling her close to me with my dick still buried inside her and place a kiss on her shoulder "you know I think it would make more sense if you lived here instead of always travelling especially at crazy times of the night when youre always bringing my craving meals" she whispers running her fingers up and down my arm as I hold her "the only problem with that is I'd fall even deeper inlove with you" I whisper as she turns and looks at me "then its going to be perfect because I'm inlove with you too the way you're always there for me putting me and our baby first I couldn't help but fall inlove with you y/n" I smile and hold her closer "god I love you lizzie and if your being serious I'd love to move in plus gotta make sure you have my dick on call 24/7 "  i joke as we both giggle and spend the next hour talking until she falls asleep in my arms.
AN: let me know your thoughts I've basically left this little story open for more chapters if that's what anyone wants haha requestes are open sorry I didn't post yesterday 😅 but I'll have a few for yall today word count is almost 1.7k (damn this having to repost is time consuming bruh) 😂

Note
Are you still taking the concern prompts? How about, "what are you afraid of?" I love to see your stories here 🩵
I feel like I've almost defintely written this fic before, or at least something very similar, but this is what came out when I started writing this prompt.
Thank you for sending this, I hope you like it!
20. “What are you afraid of?”
Prompt taken from here.
Read on AO3
-
“What are you afraid of exactly?”
Beca shrugged. “I mean, spiders freak me out.”
Chloe closed her eyes and exhaled through her nose. “Can you not be a smart-ass right now?”
“Sorry,” Beca said.
“Why do you keep pushing me away?” Chloe asked. “Why is it every time I get close to you, every time I feel like we’re getting somewhere, your walls come up? What is it that you’re afraid of?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Beca said, knowing exactly what Chloe was talking about.
It had been a running theme in Beca’s life.
She’d meet someone, form a tentative friendship, then allow herself to open up just enough for them to get a glimpse of the real her, only for her to end up being left alone again.
Eventually, she just stopped trying. She built up her defences too high, the walls too thick. Not only had she lost the key that would allow her to open up, she couldn’t even remember where the door was.
She didn’t know how to let Chloe in, even if she wanted to.
“Beca.”
“I don’t know what you want me to say,” Beca said, running a hand through her hair.
“I want you to tell me what you’re thinking,” Chloe said. “I want to know why you’re always keeping me at arm’s length.”
Beca swallowed and clenched her jaw, but she didn’t say anything.
“It’s fine,” Chloe said, with a sigh. “It doesn’t matter. I’m gonna go, I guess I’ll see you at rehearsals.”
Say something, Beca’s mind screamed at her. Say anything.
But Beca didn’t. She couldn’t.
She didn’t know how.
-
It was hours later when Chloe was disturbed from her studying by her apartment buzzer.
“Are you expecting anyone?” Aubrey asked, looking up from her own textbook.
“No,” Chloe said, checking to see if she’d had any missed calls or texts.
The buzzer went off again and Chloe put down her book and walked over to the intercom.
“Who is it?” Chloe asked.
There was a pause.
“It’s Beca,” was the response.
Chloe frowned. “It’s like 11 pm, is everything okay?” She asked.
“Yeah I, um, I just wanted to talk to you,” Beca said. “Sorry, I should have text or something. This was a bad idea, I’m gonna go.”
“No,” Chloe said quickly into the intercom. “No, I’m buzzing you up.”
She pressed the button to unlock the door and then spent the next few minutes anxiously pacing.
“I’m not even gonna ask,” Aubrey said, packing up her stuff. “I should have known it was her fault that you’ve been in a weird mood all night.”
Before Chloe could argue, Aubrey had retreated to her room, and Beca knocked on the apartment door.
“Hey,” Chloe said, opening it and standing aside so Beca could enter. “What’s going on?”
“I’m sorry for just turning up,” Beca said, wringing her hands as she crossed the threshold into Chloe’s apartment. “I just… I don’t like how I left things with us earlier, and I always come across too blunt in texts and-”
“Bec, it’s okay,” Chloe said, frowning as she watched Beca begin pacing. She’d never seen Beca like this before. She’d never seen her look anything other than calm, or composed, or occasionally disinterested. Aside from the incident in the shower, she’d never seen Beca look flustered like this. “Take a breath.”
She did, a shaky hand coming up to run through her hair. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologise,” Chloe said. “I’m glad you’re here, I don’t like how we left things either.”
“It’s just, the thing is, I’m not… I’m not good at this. The whole friendship thing. I try and be, you know, open and shit but it always ends up blowing up in my face. I’m always… When I finally allow myself to open up a little, they always leave. I always end up on my own again, and eventually, I just figured why bother, you know? And now… Now I don’t even know how to do it anymore. It’s like my whole brain shuts down and I lose the ability to speak. I don’t know how to open up anymore, and I’m afraid that if I don’t figure it out I’m going to lose you. And I’m afraid that if I do figure it out, I’m going to lose you.” Beca cleared her throat, suddenly terrified that she was about to cry. “You asked what I’m afraid of, and it’s that. I’m afraid I’m going to lose you, the same way I’ve lost everyone else.”
Chloe gave her a soft smile. “You aren’t going to lose me,” she said.
“That’s what everyone says,” Beca said.
“I’m not everyone,” Chloe countered.
“No,” Beca said. “You definitely aren’t. And that’s a good thing,” she added.
“I know,” Chloe said, her lips curling into a smirk. “So trust me when I say that you aren’t going to scare me off by letting me see the real you. In case you hadn’t noticed, I don’t scare easy.”
“I had noticed.”
“And can I tell you something else?” Chloe asked, her hands resting on Beca’s shoulders before moving down to rub up and down her arms. “You’ve just done it. You’ve just opened up and shared something with me, and now I know you a little better.”
“Oh,” Beca said, “I guess I did.”
“I’m sorry for pushing you,” Chloe said. “I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable or anything, I just needed to know that this wasn’t all one-sided.”
“It isn’t,” Beca said. “And I’m sorry I made you think that.”
Chloe shook her head to let her know it was fine. “I’m glad you came over,” she said. “And I’m glad you shared all that with me.”
“I want to be able to share more,” Beca said. “Be more open, but it might take me some time.”
“That’s okay,” Chloe said. “I can be patient.” Beca raised an eyebrow. “Okay, I suck at being patient, but I can do it for you.”
Beca smiled and felt some of the tension leave her shoulders. “Thank you.” They shared a quick hug before Beca tried, and failed, to stifle a yawn.
“It’s getting pretty late,” Chloe said. “Do you want me to walk you back to your dorm?”
“You don’t need to walk me back,” Beca said.
“You can’t go on your own.”
“If you walked me back, who would walk you back?” Beca countered. “I can order an Uber or something if it makes you feel better.”
“Or you could stay?” Chloe asked, knowing she might be pushing it a bit. “We could watch a movie or a show or something. I have a double bed. Or a comfy sofa if you’d rather sleep on that. No pressure.”
If anyone else had asked her this, Beca would have said no. How many times had Jesse hounded her about hanging out in his dorm to watch movies with him?
But Beca was surprised to find the idea of watching movies with Chloe was actually appealing. Surprised even more when the thought of sharing a bed with her didn’t fill her full of abject terror, but quite the opposite.
“Okay,” Beca said.
Chloe beamed. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Beca said.

It's been a minute and I apologize for the delay but I'm working on my multi-chapter fic again and Chapter 32 is in progress.
Reminder, there are only 9 chapters left and they're going to be good. 😜😉🤗🙃😊😁
Don't forget, Buck and Eddie are still waiting to hear about the house in San Gimignano.
__________
I'm excited to finish writing Chapter 32 because at the end of Chapter 31, Buck was trying to process everything that happened to him and Chris Friday evening while they were inside of Super Target. After his heart stopped and he had to be revived by a cardiologist, who just so happened to be shopping on the next aisle, he spent time after he was revived but unconscious seeing glimpses of his future life with Eddie over the next 20 years.
More than three hours later, after he woke up, he was so exhausted he spent hours sleeping as his body recuperated with Eddie by his bedside. The 118 was there in full force to support Buck, Eddie and Chris and after Eddie made the connection to Lucy and Jonah's other victims, Buck gave Athena and Detective Romero a statement the next day. Early Saturday morning, they were eventually captured but the aftermath of the things they did are affecting Buck and Chris in a major way and all Eddie wants to do is take his husband and son back to Italy so they can keep healing. Will they get the final word on the house they bid on that's located in San Gimignano, Italy in this chapter? 🤷🏽‍♀️
__________
Here’s another snippet from Chapter 32 of a romantically fluffy conversation between Buck and Eddie.
__________
It’s 10:09AM and Buck and Eddie are quietly lying on the couch.  Eddie’s on his back, Buck’s on top of him and his legs are comfortably resting between Eddie’s.  They’re pressed together from their chests to their hips and Buck’s head is buried between Eddie’s neck and shoulder.  Also, Eddie’s hand is resting on the small of Buck’s back but until a few minutes ago, he was rubbing circles on it.
When Buck decides he’s ready to discuss something with his husband, he lifts his head and says, “Babe?”
Eddie opens his eyes and looks right into those ocean blue eyes he loves so much.  “Hmm?”
“Were you sleeping?”
“No, I was just resting my eyes.”
He laughs out loud and Eddie does too.
After their laughter subsides, Buck asks, “Babe, isn’t that what abuela says when she doesn’t want anyone to know she fell asleep?”
“It is but I wasn’t asleep.”
Buck moves up just a little bit and once their faces are millimeters apart, he places a soft kiss onto his lips.  After he pulls back, he says, “Since you’re awake, I um… want to talk to you about something.”
“Amore mio, you know you can talk to me about anything, right?”
He nods then admits, “After Thanksgiving, we promised each other that we would make time to dance and have fun at least once per week.  Do you remember that?”
“I do.  We were dancing to Janet Jackson’s “Funny How Time Flies When You’re Having Fun” and if I’m remembering correctly, the date was December 1st, it was after 10 o’clock and we had just finished watching the 2003 version of the movie “The Italian Job.”
“You’re right, we did and up until January 2nd, we did our best to keep it.”
Eddie raises his eyebrows and he starts to protest but he doesn’t get the chance since Buck keeps talking.
“Babe, we’ve only danced a few times since we returned to the states and I—I know that’s because I was sick and right when I was feeling better the bottom fell out and um, I was back in the hospital.”
“Amore mio, none of the things that happened were your fault.  You have a heart condition and someone tried to…”  He stops talking because he doesn’t want to say the words but they both know what he means.  He lifts his head and kisses Buck’s forehead and after he lays his head back onto the couch cushion, he meets Buck’s eyes and exclaims, “Ti amo, amore mio, dolce amore.”  [“I love you, my love, sweet love.”]
“Ti amo anch’io, più di ogni altra.”  [“I love you too, more than anything.”]
They hold each other’s gaze for a few seconds and allow the weight of everything that’s happened to surround them.
“I’m sorry for scaring you and Chris.”
“You don’t have to apologize because you didn’t do anything wrong.  You and Chris were just…”  He trails off and tries to get the images that he saw of them being approached by two fools out of his mind.
“Eddie?  I mentioned the promise we made because after everything we’ve been through over the past six weeks, uh… I want us to get some normalcy back in our schedule.  Since the beginning of this week, we’ve been going nonstop to meetings with the A.D.A., court hearings and therapy sessions but today, our schedule is free, we’re here and we’re spending time together.  Our son is at school and he’s eating candy in each of his classes which means when we go pick him up, he’ll be hopped on sugar.”
They both laugh and Buck counts it as a win because seeing his husband’s big smile along with his dimples is fantastic.
After it subsides, he continues.  “I’m feeling better and my organs are properly functioning, so babe… let’s start dancing every week again and watching movies and taking trips to different places.  I know we’re still waiting for Angelo to contact us but me and you, we uh, know better than anyone that… tomorrow isn’t promised.”
“I wholeheartedly agree with you and starting here and now, that’s what we’re going to do!”
He stands, takes Eddie’s hand in his and gently pulls him into a standing position. Once they’re face to face, he sticks his hand out and asks, “Dance with me?”
“Always, my love.”
He grabs his phone, connects it to the Bluetooth speaker, scrolls through his “He’s My Husband” playlist and when he finds the song he’s looking for, he taps play.
What song is Buck going to choose for them to dance to? 🙃
Who is Angelo? 😁 (Hint: they met him in San Gimignano, Italy in Chapter 23.)
__________
Fic Summary: Months after Buck and Eddie were hit by the same lightning strike; they’re still struggling with the aftermath of it.  But before they make their love confessions, they’ll spend time getting to know themselves as individuals first. Eddie learns to enjoy the simple things in life as he participates in activities on his own and with new friends while Buck learns the rest of the 31-year-old deep dark family secret about his conception and birth. Their journey to forever is still a work in progress but once they finally admit they’re in love with each other, everything that follows their love confessions will be cataclysmic.

Since that time, he’s been to therapy and him and Buck got married but the question resurfaces when Frank asks Buck the same question and Buck asks it of Eddie for the second time. However, when Buck asks, his reasoning will be about something else entirely.
Chapter 29 - After Buck and Eddie have an emotionally intimate conversation regarding their dreams, they make several decisions that will affect their future. When everything falls into place, they’ll realize one of those decisions will result in them no longer being work partners.
Chapter 30 - In 2018, Buck and Eddie met at the 118 and after some initial apprehensions on Buck’s part, they became work partners and they agreed to have each other’s backs. It’s been more than 6 ½ years, a lot’s happened, they got married in December 2023 and they have the family they both chose. With Eddie leaving the 118 in 3 months and Buck getting closer to moving past his grief, what will him losing his work partner mean for him?
Chapter 31 - As Buck’s life hangs in the balance from what’s suspected to be another bradycardia event, Eddie’s by his bedside, their son is being cared for by relatives and their found family is in the waiting room. During this time, many questions will surface that could possibly lead to the truth but will everything be revealed before it’s too late?
Chapter 32 - Will be posted soon.

Uhhh cw for dark themes ig? Talks of being stalked and drugged, non-consensual touching technically, somnophilia- nothing too insane I just wanna cover my bases because this came to me at 6am when I was half asleep trying to get ready for work so someone tell me if I missed something or don’t need one of the tags
Something something Stalker!Gaz overhearing you complain to your friend about sleeping like shit- hell maybe he even saw the texts (not his fault you leave your phone out in the open when your sleeping. Can’t blame him for tinkering with it. It’s for your protection)
You also can’t blame him for spiking your nightly tea- or whatever you chose to drink that night. He just wants to help is sweetheart get some rest! You’re knocked out on the couch, ‘course he gets you all tucked into bed just the way you like.
Never-mind his wandering hands, he never gets to touch you, always so vigilant and alert (looking at the knife you keep in your bedside drawer gets him unbelievably hard) He knows you won’t mind that he’s guiding your hand to wrap around his cock while you’re sleeping so hard, he knows you’d want to thank him. Look so soft and sweet while he’s thrusting into your hand grunting. He’ll ease into your life soon enough, just wants to be sure you’re ready!
Safe to say you’re very confused the next morning, takes you a solid 20 minutes to fully wake up and move around, you feel sluggish but.. You slept decent? You think? Brushing off the fact your comforter had possibly new stains on it as you shove it into the wash. Looks like someone tried to wipe it up then gave up, probably one of the nights you were too tired to do anything aside from get yourself off.
Gaz pats himself on the back for deciding to leave a few hickeys on the back of your neck. Didn’t wanna scare you too much yet, but he wanted to mark you somehow.

I'm dating you, not them. (Monogamous Female Reader x Yandere Poly Bakusquad) part 1?
Tumblr media
Y/n meet Mina Ashido when she was 18 and she interned at the pro hero agency that 20 year old, at the time, Mina had just started working at. Y/n was immediately taken with the pink haired and skinned woman. There was something about her the instantly drew Y/n in. However Y/n at first did not act on her attraction to Ashido for two reason.
She was a high school intern at the agency she worked as a pro hero.
Y/n knew that Mina was already in a happy poly relationship with 5 other people and while Y/n was not interested in being with them as well, only Mina.
So Y/n kept her mouth shut for two years and settled for only being friends with her. However as time wore on it got harder and harder for her to keep her feelings at bay. Eventually when they were drinking by themselves after work together she drank far to much and more then Mina, she ended up drunkenly confessing to the pink woman.
The next more she woke in bed cuddled up with Mina and no memory of her confession until Mina told her. She blushed and tried to play it off at first. "Hehe. Sorry. I can't control what I say when I'm drunk off my ass.", said Y/n.
Mina pouted at her. "So you don't like me? What a shame because I always had a thing for you.", said the pinkette startling Y/n enough to cause her to fall off the bed.
Y/n immediately popped up though and starred at Mina in shock. Her mouth dropped open. "But... But you already have 5 partners and you never indicated you like me before. I mean I know you can love more them one person but I just thought you didn't see me that way. Plus I'm not into polyamory myself. I'm just monogamous.", said Y/n.
"That's fine. You don't have to be a poly as long as you don't mind me having other partners, and who knows? You might just change your mind, baby girl.", said Mina with a shrug while getting off the bed and crossing the room towards Y/n.
She backed Y/n against the wall and cupped her chin. "Don't you want to find where this attraction can go? I guarantee it will be fun.", said Mina. Y/n flushed. She found the pinkette's gold and black eyes so hypnotic that she ended up nodding without really thinking.
Mina kissed her then and the next two months were blissful to Y/n. Then she was officially introduced to Mina's other partners and they started pushing her boundaries immediately. They would show up at her home unannounced, flirt with her even though she stated she was not interested, barge in on her and Mina's dates, and sometimes touch Y/n inappropriately.
Mina let them and didn't care even when Y/n tried to talk to her about it. They would gaslight her when she tried to tell them to stop and it was not okay. It made her feel bad and like she was at fault. For a year and a half she put up with it because she thought that she loved Mina but then they pushed her to far and she snapped.
Y/n was cooking dinner for her and Mina. When she heard the door open and more the one person come inside while talking and laughing. She sighed and started adding more ingredients knowing she now need five more portions of everything and even if she complained about their presence they would just tell her she was overreacting.
She felt drained so she didn't even bother to call out and greet them. Five minutes later someone entered the kitchen and hugged from behind by the waist. At first she thought it was Mina as this person was a similar height but then she realized she felt no boobs pressed against her. It was not Mina she realized.
She stopped cooking and pulled herself away from them none to gently. She turned around to see it was Sero. Something in her broke in that moment. They had crossed far to many boundaries for her to be okay anymore. Her anger was spoiling over.
"Get out of my home. All of you. I want you out. I'm done. I can't take it anymore. I tired of having my boundaries cross.", she yelled as loud as she could. Sero step back a step in surprise and chatter from the living room stopped.
Y/n after a minute heard hurried foot steps coming towards the kitchen. She started screaming. "I said to get the fuck out. I want nothing to do with any of you. I want you all gone and the fuck away from me.", yelled Y/n as they stepped into the kitchen.
Mina was at the front of the group with Bakugou. "Baby gi...", she started in the tone she usually uses when she is about to gas light Y/n. The h/c female put up a hand though to stop her.
"Stop right there. Don't you baby girl me. I was talking to you too. I'm sick and tired of having my boundaries crossed by you all. I stated where I stand and you all do not respect that. I'm dating you, not them. I told you that repeatedly and you never listened. I've had enough. I'm through with you and I want you all out. Now.", said Y/n.
Mina looked pissed and so did everyone else. Bakugou stepped forward and grabbed Y/n by the shirt. He hoisted her off the ground and into the air so that she dangled. "You don't get to dictate that. We do. If we say your dating us all, then you are. Whether you agree to it or not.", he snarled in her face.
