Summary: Remus Lupin tags alongside Dumbledore when he goes to visit a student.

Characters: Remus Lupin, Chiara Lobosca, Albus Dumbledore

Notes: IN B4 CHIARA SQ!!! But wow I’ve had this idea from pretty much the moment I read about Chiara as a character and I’ve wanted to write it for months now. The Chiara sidequest coming up that will feature [spoilers] convinced me to get it out before then, since it will completely make this non-canon lol

“I still don’t get why I’m here, Albus.”

“You’ll see why I asked you here soon, Remus.”

Remus said nothing to that.

Albus Dumbledore had sent an owl two weeks previous asking if Remus wouldn’t mind going on a day trip with him. Remus had, of course, replied positively, even if Dumbledore hadn’t specified anything about the trip. Remus trusted Dumbledore to not lead him into a trap. He had hesitated after being told that they would meet in Godric’s Hollow, but Remus had still gone to meet with his old professor, regardless of painful memories.

Luckily, they hadn’t gone anywhere near the memorial to James and Lily. Remus was quite sure Dumbledore had even taken a detour to avoid his friends old house, but he couldn’t bring himself to care about walking an extra fifteen minutes. Even after three years, he still felt so much pain thinking about that Halloween night.

Dumbledore led him out into the countryside. It was beautiful, all vivid green hills and blooming wildflowers, but Remus still couldn’t puzzle out why they were there. Every question he had asked Dumbledore had been deflected with vague answers.

Eventually, they came upon a house. It was a small cottage, very picturesque, but isolated from any neighbors. Remus could see shapes through the pale curtains on the window, so people did live there and they weren’t taking a trip to an abandoned building. He stayed silent as he and Dumbledore ambled up a dirt path surrounded by flowers to the door.

The door was instantly answered after Dumbledore knocked. A woman about ten years older than Remus answered. She was rather tall, with brown hair in a long plait.

“Hello?” She said politely, but she couldn’t hide the bafflement in her eyes. Obviously, she knew who was standing before her, but couldn’t understand why.

Dumbledore smiled. “Lavinia Lobosca, lovely to see you once more! It’s been a while since you went to Hogwarts.”

“Professor Dumbledore,” Lavinia nodded her head politely at him, but she still looked confused. “I—I must confess, I don’t know why you’re here.”

“I can explain in just a moment. May my friend and I come in? Explanations might take some time, and while it is beautiful outside, there might be fewer bugs inside.”

Lavinia opened the door wide and stepped backwards. “Of course! So sorry for not inviting you in sooner. I think the kettle is still on, would you like tea? I think we still have some fresh biscuits too…. Oh, I haven’t gotten your name.” She looked at Remus.

“Remus,” he answered, with a small nod.

Dumbledore smiled politely. “Tea and biscuits sound wonderful, Lavinia, thank you.”

She guided them to the sitting room before hurrying off to the kitchen. As she did, she passed a tall man with white hair and whispered something to him. Remus assumed he was Lavinia’s husband, and he tried to puzzle out if the man was much older than his wife or had kept white blond hair into adulthood, but Remus couldn’t tell from a distance.

The man seemed as confused as his wife as to why Dumbledore and Remus were at his house, but he was also as polite. He welcomed them into his house and introduced himself as Allen Lobosca. Remus replied with his name once more, and then the room was silent for a moment.

“Er,” Allen started, “now, may I ask why you’re here, Dumbledore? Can’t say we were expecting anyone to drop in. Is something wrong?”

“Nothing of that sort. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.” He patted one of the pockets of his lavender robe. “But we’re missing one more person for this meeting. Is young Chiara here?”

Some sort of understanding lit up behind Allen’s eyes, but he also seemed uneasy. “I can go get her if you want. I think she’s out in the garden.”

Dumbledore nodded. “That would be wonderful. Thank you, Allen.”

As Allen left, Lavinia came back him with a tray. She set it down and busied herself with serving the tea.

Remus took a small sip. If he had to guess, Chiara was likely Allen and Lavinia’s daughter. But why was Dumbledore there? Hogwarts professor’s usually only visited the homes of students if they were Muggle-born and needed the wizarding world explained to them and their family. Since the Lobosca’s both knew Dumbledore, they obviously weren’t Muggle’s. Dumbledore usually didn’t make these home visits either, not anymore at least. Remus remembered Dumbledore specifically saying something of that sort when he had visited the Lupin’s when Remus had turned eleven.

Remus froze. “Albus?” He sent Dumbledore a questioning look, knowing the other wizard would understand what he meant.

Dumbledore nodded slightly. Remus set his teacup down as Lavinia looked between them.

She opened her mouth to say something, but Allen came back then, followed by a young girl. Allen’s hair, Remus decided, was obviously natural as his daughter had pale white hair the same shade. She was quite tall like her parents, but she couldn’t be more than ten or eleven.

Remus’s heart did flips inside him. He had never expected to something like this happen.

Dumbledore held out a hand and smiled kindly towards the girl. She hesitantly shook it, then immediately drew back behind her mother. “Hello, Chiara. I am Professor Albus Dumbledore of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.” Dumbledore rifled through his pockets for a moment before bringing out an envelope. “I have something here for you.”

Chiara took the letter and stared at it for a second before bursting into tears and running out of the room, letter drifting down through the air behind her.

Everyone in the room stood up except Dumbledore.

“I’m so sorry for that—”

“Chiara, she—”

“I’ll go talk to her.”

Allen and Lavinia stopped to stare at Remus when he spoke. He couldn’t quite believe he had said that either.

Dumbledore, however, seemed pleased. “Excellent idea, Remus. I’m sure Chiara will enjoy your insight, and you can explain the situation just as well as I can. Is that alright with you two?” He turned to the Lobosca’s and they helplessly agreed. If Dumbledore thought something a good idea, it likely was.

“She’s probably back in her garden. Down the main hall and out back,” Lavinia said, looking down at her hands.

Remus nodded and muttered a thank you before leaving.

The garden out back was just as quaint as the garden in the front. The one out front seemed to be for flowers, while this garden held fruits, vegetables, and magical plants. Remus could spot Dittany and Flitterbloom among the cabbage and carrots as he looked around for Chiara.

It wasn’t hard to find her; her white hair stood out blindingly against the brown and greens of the garden. He made sure to take loud steps as he approached so she would know he was coming. Remus didn’t want to scare the girl.

“Who are you?” Her voice surprised Remus. It was much stronger than he had expected from such a frail looking girl. Then again, she would be stronger than she looked if they did share the same condition.

“Remus Lupin.” He replied. “Do you mind if I sit next to you?”

She silently moved over, and Remus sat down next to her.

“I’m going to be a bit blunt about something delicate, if that’s okay.” He paused and waited for her to look at him curiously and nod. “I’m going to assume that you’re a werewolf.”

Chiara’s reaction was instantaneous. She hunched in on herself, wrapping her arms around her body. More tears seemed to leak from her eyes.

Remus gathered his courage. This was always a hard topic to talk about. “It’s fine,” he said gently. “I—I’m a werewolf too. I believe that’s why Professor Dumbledore brought me here today. To talk about going to Hogwarts as a werewolf.”

Chiara stared at him, dumbstruck. “Y-you went to Hogwarts?”

He nodded. “I only graduated a few years ago.”

“Really?”

“Mhm.” He smiled at her. “I was the same way when I was eleven. I didn’t think it would be possible for me to go to Hogwarts. I had given up the thought of ever having a wand and using it. But Dumbledore came to my house, same as he is doing today, and talked to me and my parents about protective measures he had put in place so werewolf children would be able to get an education.”

Chiara was drying her eyes. “What’d he do?”

“Have you heard of the Shrieking Shack?”

Chiara mutely shook her head.

Remus leaned back. “It’s this shack at the edge of Hogsmeade Village. There’s all sorts of stories and legends about it, and how it’s been haunted for centuries, but it was actually only built about a decade ago. It’s where I would transform every night, which is why it’s called the Shrieking Shack.”

“How’d you get there? If it’s in Hogsmeade, and not at Hogwarts.” To Remus’s relief, Chiara had stopped crying and was now looking up at him with wide eyed interest. And she’s clever, he thought with an internal smile.

“There’s a tunnel from Hogwarts to the Shack. Another measure put in by Dumbledore. He planted a Whomping Willow—this large tree who’s branches move and try to hit things—and put a secret tunnel at the base of it. It’s hard to get to, but there’s a specific route you crawl on, and then you can get into the tunnel.”

“And it works?” Chiara asked, biting her lip. “It never went wrong? I’m always so scared things are going to go wrong during my transformations and you were right at the edge of a village.”

Remus flashed back to that one night in his sixth year where he had almost killed Severus Snape.

“No,” he lied firmly. “It never went wrong.”

Chiara looked down at her knees, and Remus gave her some time to digest the information. He knew it had taken him weeks to truly realize that he would be able to go to Hogwarts.

“Did you make friends?” Her voice was barely a whisper.

Remus’s heart twisted. Once he had gotten his letter and his wand, the topic of friends had been the thing that ate at him most. Would it be possible for a werewolf to become friends with regular wizards? Would there ever be anyone who would accept him?

“Yes.” His voice was filled with grief. “I had the best friends anyone could ever have.”

A small body thumped against his side. Remus looked down in shock to see Chiara’s skinny arms wrapped around his torso. When he didn’t react to the hug, she hurriedly pulled back.

“Sorry,” she mumbled. “You just sounded very sad.”

Remus attempted a smile, and tried to subtly wipe away the tears that had formed. “Thank you, then.”

She smiled shyly. “Thank you for talking to me. It—it feels better to hear this from someone who has the same…sickness as I do. To hear that I can do something normal when I’m like…this.”

His smile was more genuine this time. “Of course. If it’s okay with your parents, I’ll even leave my address with you so you can owl me with any questions.”

Chiara’s eyes lit up. “I’d love that! It’s so nice to meet another werewolf who’s nice. I didn’t—I didn’t think there were any like that out there, honestly.”

Remus laughed at that. “I understand that feeling. I’m glad to meet another good werewolf too.” He stood up. “We should probably be getting inside. Your parents are probably worried.”

Chiara nodded and stood up, brushing dirt off her skirt. “Can I ask another question?” She said as Remus opened the back door.

“Of course.”

“What house were you in?”

“Gryffindor.”

“That sounds so cool! Maybe I’ll be in Gryffindor….”

The door shut behind them.

That Chronically Ill Barbie

THIS IS A LONG POST..IT'S MY STORY BEING CHRONICALL ILL.When you're battling a chronic illness, you've probably heard "you don't look sick"... Ur right I don't. I get up n beat my face to the gods�� n show up as best dressed because I hate appearing sick. Honestly, I've been ill for as long as I can remember, I mean, shit, my mom said i used to spit up all the time as a baby. My medical hasn't ever been the best. I've always been underweight n I've been prone to all types of infections. In elementary it was kidneys, but I was still in a lot of pain. I would leave early all the time, n teachers thought I was just avoiding their class. But I really wasn't. I would get really bad stomach aches that i would just tough out. As middle school progressed, everybody was hitting puberty but me. I had no titties💀 n my 9 year old sister had gotten her period b4 me. I thought I was the older sister.Here I was 14 years old, still getting confused as an elementary schooler. When I graduated from middle school, things took a turn for the worst. The pains in my stomach were getting really sharp, n I was vomiting a lot. I was dizzy and tender to the touch. But growing up the way that I did constantly gettin sent home from the hospital as just "dehydrated" and just nervous because of something (in this case, starting hs). I attempted hs, but 3 days in, my body couldn't take it anymore. I'll never forget sitting in a circle with my specialty center(i got accepted for mass communication) and everybody got worried because I nearly passed out. That's when I was heavily in and out the hospital. I was even hospitalized twice at two different hospitals. I actually had a poor experience with my very first gastroenterologist. He was this old man that was convinced absolutely nothing was wrong with me. Didn't test me or anything; He just violently pushed on my tender spots. I would cry nonstop in the hospital because it hurt so much. I honestly thought I was going to die. My heart rate was through the roof, i had caught C.diff while in the hospital in the middle of a tuberculosis breakout, and nobody was helping me. I had lost 10 more pounds in the hospital. I was at an all time low of 85 pounds. Towards the end of my visit, they finally gave me a colonoscopy and endoscopy.It was already weird because instead of prep, they gave me back to back miralax. When i was put under and received my endoscopy, I woke up in the process. I didn't have enough strength to freak out or anything so I juss say there n fell back asleep. when i got back to my hospital room, I had my first meal in a long time. I didn't care how it tasted. I finally got my pictures back from my endoscopy n colonoscopy n my esophagus was swollen shut like a butthole, no exaggeration. It was also severely ulcerated, so I had to start more medication. i lost more weight n the hospital released me antyways. So I immediately went to another n was automatically admitted. There I met another gastroenterologist, n he called me anorexic. That's insulting. It's not that I didn't want to eat, I juss physically couldn't.While i was in the hospital, me and mom researched my first GI and found out that he had been fired from other hospitals n was in the middle of a bunch of settlements. While at the second hospital, i met that gastroenterologist colleague. He was younger n nicer n seemed to want to help me. But from my past with doctors, colleagues don't go against colleagues opinions. So i kind of blew him off. After I was let go, I started packing to go to this Children's hospital in Ohio. It's about a 8-10 hour drive from my house, but I had hope. When I made it to that hospital, I went to the emergency room. n all they told me was "well if it's not appendicitis, she won't die", n sent me home. All that time n money wasted just to be told that they're not concerned if it is not appendicitis. A month later, I finally went to the colleague. He immediately started testing me. I took a pill cam, n I will tell u, the practice pill is the biggest pill I've ever taken. Nothing. I finally took this different test. I had to eat "radioactive eggs", n have it monitored. That's when I found out I have Gastroparesis. Now I'm careful about any and everything. My life got better for a hot minute. I had put on weight;I was a solid 117. I even re-enrolled into school after i had to drop out. But as school went on, my doctors appointments got scarce n I started getting sick again. Now Im 18 weighing at 95 pounds, going through the strugglesI began with. This is my battle but it won't stop me from being the barbie I am~ Chi Chi baby💋🌹🥀

About half an hour later, Bitty hears the garage door open and close, and then Coach and Suzanne’s muffled voices. Nobody comes upstairs to find him, so he disregards it and goes back to rambling in the old group chat that Shitty had insisted on keeping around— even once he, Lardo, Ransom, and Holster had graduated and Bitty was the only group chat member still at Samwell, Shitty claimed it was ‘his duty’ to give them updates on what was going on.

Bitty: i mean what am i even supposed to do now that i don’t have hockey as motivation to exercise

Bitty: running is gross

Bitty: punching bags are just.... ew, not good

After that, the group chat moves at lightspeed, and Bitty’s content just to sit back and watch it happen. He counts no less than eight invocations of Holster’s age and size advantage and three of Shitty’s mustache. It’s only when there are soft footsteps in the hallway and a knock on Bitty’s door that he realizes how long he’s been sitting there watching his fellow alums (oh God) descend into a near brawl.

“Hey, Dicky,” his mother says when he gets up and opens the door. “Dinner’s ready, if you want it now. If not, we’ll save some for you and you can heat it up when you’re hungry. Your father told me you’re having a rough day.”

Bitty sighs. “It’s been a trying one,” he offers, and Suzanne nods in acknowledgement. He takes the now-empty plate of pralines, since there’s no point in leaving it in his room, and they walk downstairs in silence.

Dinner is interesting in that it’s so different from usual. Suzanne is willing to avoid making Bitty talk, but for once it’s Coach who carries the conversation. He carefully steers it away from Bitty at every opportunity, which is nice of him, but Bitty is completely verbal, he’s just... well, he’s tired. The tears left him feeling dried-up, almost, and Bitty doesn’t have enough energy to be emotional. He probably should’ve taken a nap before dinner, but it’s too late now. He can just go to bed early and hope that sleep serves as a reset of some sort— maybe he won’t wake up feeling so drained.

“Oh, and I’m hoping you can tell me what happened to all of those pralines that we made,” Suzanne says to Coach with a faint smile as she takes the third-to-last piece of garlic bread. “Funnily enough, a lot of them seemed to have vanished by the time I got home.”

“That was mostly me,” Bitty speaks up. His parents glance over at him in surprise, probably because he hasn’t been saying anything. “But Coach started it.”

When Suzanne looks over at Coach to confirm or deny that, he just shrugs.

“Well, alright then,” she says, and moves on while Bitty is still wondering if he should take the opportunity in front of him. She’s asking Coach about the plans for new locker rooms at the high school before he can say anything else.

Bitty finishes his food in silence, and then sits and stares at the table, not wanting to go to bed with the prospect of telling his mother still hanging over his head, but not wanting to say the words either. There’s no lead-in this time, no convenient discussion of roommates that he can use to bring it up. So how?

Coach must have assumed that Bitty’s not going to tell Suzanne tonight, because he’s still determinedly talking at length about how the team will have more locker space to store their gear. He’s only just started extolling the virtues of the new lighting when Bitty folds up his napkin and sets it neatly on the placemat. When he stands up, both of his parents look at him in surprise, and the force that he pushed his chair back with probably was surprising.

Bitty picks up his plate and cup to take to the dishwasher before saying, “Mom, I’m gay.”

The words come out calmer than he’d expected.

Suzanne blinks.

“I’m gay,” he repeats. “And I’m dating Jack Zimmermann.”

Then he puts his cup and plate in the sink and goes up to his room and shuts the door and sits on his bed and squeezes Señor Bun’s paw with one hand while he unlocks his phone with the other and composes three texts and sends them off.

The first one is to last year’s starting line. Chowder, Nursey, Dex, Whiskey, and Tango. Bitty reserves more personal things for this group chat instead of the team-wide one— not just because he was the captain, but also because there are only so many people he actually wants to vent about his life to. Hey y’all, just came out to my mom, send good vibes my way pls.

The second is to the same alumni groupchat that only just finished calming the fuck down. sooo now my mom knows im gay and that i have a boyfriend, am currently waiting in my room hoping that when i come back down things will be ok. left b4 she cld react.

The third is to Jack. told my mom, went to my room without waiting to see how she reacted. gonna go back down and see what the fallout is in like half an hour. i have a bag packed just in case, i’ll let you know if i’m coming over.

Jack responds immediately, as do other people who’d gotten one of his first two texts, but Bitty answers Jack’s first.

Jack: I have a rental car if you need a ride. Just let me know.

Bitty: i don’t think i will, but i’ll call and give u an update once i know more

Bitty: rn i’m just killing time

Jack: I’ll call you in an hour to check in if I don’t hear from you before then.

Bitty: talk to u in a lil bit

The two group chats that he’s texted have blown up over the course of his short conversation with Jack, mostly expressions of hope from the frogs and tadpoles and calm texts from the other alums meant to reassure. Bitty sends the frogs and tadpoles a quick thank you before turning to the other group chat.

Bitty: i have a contingency plan if things go horribly bad

Bitty: so im giving him and my mom time to talk before i go back down there

Bitty’s stomach hurts when he walks downstairs, nauseous anticipation. He feels tense. His shoulders are hunched practically up to his ears.

He drops his bag in the front hallway before turning and walking into the kitchen. Suzanne and Coach are there, still sitting at the table. There are three glasses of sweet tea. Without that clue, Bitty wouldn’t have thought that they’d gotten up at all.

“Please sit down, Dicky,” Suzanne says when she sees him standing in the doorway.

Bitty sits, and for a little while, that’s what they do. Sit in silence. Until she sighs and says, “I will admit that whenever I pictured my future family, I always thought that my child would be straight.” She looks tired. “Although I can’t say I’m exactly surprised, either.”

Coach takes a sip of his tea.

“I’m not going to pretend to understand, because I don’t,” Suzanne says. “But I love you. You’re still my son, Eric Richard Bittle Junior. You still bake and you still skate and you’re still going to Boston to find a job in a week. None of that has changed.”

“No, it hasn’t,” Bitty agrees quietly.

“And I don’t want you going halfway across the country thinking I don’t love you, or you’re disowned, because neither of those things are true. I won’t lie to you and say it’s a great idea to tell the rest of the family— I’m sure you’ve already thought about that— but when it comes down to it, family you see twice a year aren’t as important as family you’re with every day, and I’m sure you know that too.” She drinks some of her tea. “I just hope that home doesn’t become such a painful place for you that you can never come back. Even if it’s just for a visit.”

“I haven’t left yet, Mama.”

Suzanne sniffs. Coach silently gets up and brings back a box of tissues, setting it on the table equidistant from his wife and his son. “That is true, isn’t it. I’m not letting you leave without trying that pot roast.”

Bitty smiles a little. “I don’t think that’ll be a problem.”

Bitty: it went ok

Chowder: that’s great!!!! congratulations!!!!!!!

Tango: are u still coming up to mass. for the summer or are u staying there??

Bitty: still coming to boston!

Clutter of Events

My last 2 questions were answered quickly through the Dash website about my directions of court documents. Before finalizing the divorce papers, I got the clarification that my case # has been assigned to the family court to the San Bernardino court house here in my town. The person didn’t understand how I got the information that I was suppose to submit them to Victorville, but they didn’t understand that whomever edited my court documents, they put Victorville address instead of San Bernardino. The other question I had that was answered was that I didn’t have to worry about listing the license plate # down under Brian’s vehicle information because it’s under his name, not mines, so I was able to get everything printed out, I found a plastic big envelope from the Dollar Tree to fit all the paper work as well as the 2 big yellow envelopes. Of course it barely fit so I had to secure the end with regular tape hoping that everything didn’t come back off from the heat by the time the person came to pick up the paper work from the drop box. I’m just happy I finally got it finished, now I’m only hoping everything can be finalized and approved without my appearance in court and that I have no issues with the documents.

Ricky took the chance this weekend to spend some time with his sons, so we went to go pick them up from their mom’s house Saturday afternoon & they spent the night this weekend. On the way back home, Ricky decided to drop by Rose Hills Cemetary to visit his grandparents as well as my mom’s grave since I haven’t seen her since her burial. It felt good to be back at that cemetary since it’s been so long. I live and commute so far from home out of the route now, so I never had the opportunity to visit there as much as I use to. Ricky wanted his kids as well as our unborn son to have a visit with their dead ancestors/relatives while we were paying respects to them.

That very evening, I had the same stupid arguement with Ricky. Just as we were eating something that evening, I wanted to watch South Park on my laptop while the kids were watching their cartoons on the big screen, he started lecturing me about turning my shit off and watching the shit that the kids were watching. Whether I was interested or bored, he wanted me to be bored or uncomfortable just to have that quality time together as a family. When he started throwing the same shit at me about me doing whatever I wanna do and being selfish and not thinking about his feelings, it started pissing me off all over again. As I’m so tired from work and the baby in my belly, he was saying I wasn’t trying hard enough to spend time with him and that I was just full of excuses like when I want to be in the bedroom trying to get the WIC courses done online or finishing up some applications to register myself for my maternal visit to the hospitals, he just blames me for watching South Park or Cheaters on You Tube all the time as if I don’t even complain about what he’s watching online. The whole thing just pissed me off so much, it was too ridiculous because he acted like he was tired of my shit and that he was still being my slave or something. I told him he doesn’t understand my position in my shoes right now and him putting this kinda pressure on me was not helping the situation at all. As I sat on the floor to finish the WIC course that I had to take for the month, he argued with me the 2nd time, then dropped mail off, then the 3rd time he decided to say he loves me and kisses me as if he was apologizing or something. I was still sad & crying that evening because I’m so fed up from the way he’s accusing me of being selfish, when I totally haven’t felt like I have been. Other then that, the next morning, he told me he’s gonna do laundry on Monday and that he will fold everything for me. During this day we decided to watch Cobra Kai show on Netflix which turned out to be an awesome continuation of the original Karate Kid. All the original actors are in there, much older looking and showing what they been doing nowadays and it’s cool that the show is focusing on the character Johnny a former member of Cobra Kai from the 1st Karate Kid. Surprisingly the kids got into the show with us, they liked it. I was surprised their lame mom wouldn’t allow them to watch that show, but Lissandra is a lame person anyways no matter how much of a good mother she is to her kids, she’s a boring & lame person in general anyways to me and the general men like Ricky.

Finally, it’s been about 2-3 days now that Moon has been at her worst with the Covid sickness. She pissed on the kitchen floor and on herself again, and she was stinking as usual, so Ricky decided to give her a bath. Seems like ever since she has looked her worse, barely able to breathe or struggling to breathe now, she looked really weak. She can barely walk or keep her eyes open. She hasn’t drank water or eaten her food since. We gave her another bath tonite after we returned home from dropping off the boys at their mom’s. It broke my heart to see Moon the way she is, her eyes looked so dead. She is so skinny, she made noises like she’s trying to cry out. She was moving around weird when she was in the bath tub, she truly hates getting cold and wet. After I fully dried her, we left her to be on the red towel by the front door so that she can actually be comfortable if she doesn’t make it through the night. I cried as I was drying her body because I know she isn’t going to be alive much longer. Seems like she fought hard for her life since Mia passed away in June. I asked the Lord to please end her suffering because it really is sad to see her like this. It’s only a matter of time, I left the shovel in my car for this case, so whenever she leaves us, we can use it to bury her b4 putting it away in storage. I’ll have to clean up all her kitty litter and trash and her cage as well as her bowls. Moon’s time of passing is coming. Looks like I’m losing 2 furry babies b4 bringing my real baby into the world. I won’t be getting another cat or dog for a looooong while.

I stumbled upon an email from Union Plus about a Debt Relief program called Freedom Debt Relief. It turns out they work with the Union Plus organization that supports union members. I’m happy that I have enrolled into the program so they will be helping me deal with my debt by talking to the banks and trying to lower my amounts due to a good amount of reasons of my current situation. I’m only gonna be making a $180 payment each paycheck and they will handle the rest as long as I am consistent with my payments, 1 debt will get handled after 2-3 months of depositing the funds into my personal account. I’m actually relieved now that I will be able to handle this problem with some professional help. I’m looking 4ward to rebuilding my credit and actually saving some money after all this shit is taken care of.

My boyfriend and I toyed with the idea of him putting me on his health insurance as a domestic partner, but my daughter would not be included in that. We live in Minnesota and I'm wondering if MinnesotaCare would be an option for us, at least to tide us over until I can afford to purchase health insurance or my boyfriend and I get married and my daughter and I can go on his plan. However, I did read that to qualify for MinnesotaCare you must not have had insurance for the last 4 months and that's not a gamble I want to take. My daughter is already on TEFRA (MN disability health insurance) so I am wondering if she was dropped from my plan if TEFRA would cover her 100 percent. My worry about that is if another group health plan wouldn't accept her pre-existing conditions going forward because she would be off a group plan for more than 62 days. I do not think I should have to pay all this money because the insurance company screwed me over by failing to put my claim through. My claims agent even said that he forgot about my case! I haven't been driving the Nissan this whole time. Do you think that if I provide proof that I had been driving another car (Corolla title and insurance policy info), I will not have to pay these outrageous fees? Need advice on qualifying for subsidized health insurance?

I'm an older full-time college student and my husband works full-time at Walmart. In the past three years, I've been through 4 cancer related surgeries, which were paid for by the breast/cervical cancer Medicaid program. Unfortunately, follow up care and monitoring aren't covered and I was dropped from Medicaid. I'm now on my husband's health insurance, which is basically worthless because our income is under $20,000/yr and the policy has a $4500 deductible plus 20% after. I haven't seen my oncologist for over a year because we can't afford the expensive scans, biopsies, and lab work associated with cancer follow-up with a deductible that high. I thought my situation would change in 2014 with Obamacare. I recently learned from the healthcare.gov website calculator that our income is low enough to qualify for expanded Medicaid (which our state decided not to expand), but I don't qualify for the health insurance subsidies I desperately need because the outrageous deductible health insurance from my husband's job covers spouses. How can a couple with an income so low they would qualify for expanded Medicaid be ineligible for subsidies? I am completely devastated over this and I don't know what to do. Not being able to afford cancer follow up care is putting my life in danger. Even if my husband's employer (Walmart) quit covering the spouses of full-time employees, I think that would only apply to new hires because of the grandfather clause. If getting subsidies was based on income alone the way it should be instead of access to employer provided coverage, I would qualify for a zero deductible policy and $3 co-pays with a monthly premium of around $60. I could then afford the expensive health care I need. We live in a college town so if my husband got a different job, he'd make even less than he does now and we would probably end up homeless. If my husband transfers and we move to a state that's expanding Medicaid, I'll have to quit school and get rid of my German Shepherd and Siberian Husky since it's almost impossible to find a landlord that allows them. We thought another option might be to get a divorce on paper and co-habitate until our situation changes (completing my degree and getting a good job so I can afford the deductible), then re-marry. When I asked about that, someone actually accused me of wanting to commit fraud! How can anyone think of something like fraud when a situation is endangering someone's life?
