i think what's missing for me now in helluva boss is some sort of... consequence, for lack of better wording, when it comes to stolas.

he is hurt and blitz's reaction hurt him, that much i get it, but he's not blameless?

he tries to acknowledge that he did wrong by starting the deal, but he doesn't really acknowledge that blitz is also a person with feelings, and not just his knight in shining armor.

in his admiration for the imp, he holds blitz to such high regards that he almost dehumanizes (or dedemonizes, lol) him when he makes a mistake, or he doesn't act just like stolas imagined he would

he sent his friends to help stolas? he holds the fact that he wasn't there over his head.

he says he knows what he did is wrong, but he doesn't stop to thinks that maybe, maybe, blitz also has some complicated feelings towards their deal that need some time to work through.

he's trying to stand up for himself after a life of doing what stella wanted him to do, but in doing so, he acts condescending and doesn't accept anything but a perfect, proofread, apology (and even when blitz does explain his side at the start of apology tour, stolas just responds with a "well, yes?" :| )

blitz was wrong, and he has done many people wrong, which is why it was good that the series showed the consequences to his actions- it gave his character the possibility to evolve, and not remain stagnant in his errors

stolas hasn't had that.

and in my opinion, he needs it; both to still be likeable, and from a storytelling point of view. you cannot have one half of the couple doing all the work and the other remaining all the same for 4 seasons.

The whole "breasts shouldn't be politicized because the primary purpose of breasts is to feed babies!" can be a fine jumping-off point, but I really wish people thought deeper than that when we talk about the ways in which bodies are politicized and restricted.

Like, why's it that when we talk about breasts, they must have some Higher Purpose? It's true that breasts aren't inherently sexual, but they aren't valuable solely because they can potentially feed a baby. A human body doesn't have to serve a Higher Purpose in order for it to not be legislated against or policed, and I just wish people would remember it isn't always about babies, about other people, about anything else other than the people who have that body.

i do just have to say though.................... i feel like people who really really loved the movie's portrayals of the characters are adding aspects of the show characters onto them? you know what i mean? like i see people say that adrien and marinette were more likeable in the movie than the show, when movie adrien didn't perform a single act of kindness in the entire 2 hours despite kindness being a core trait of adrien in the show? marinette was normal and not particularly weird at all and just kind of a generic protagonist? were adrien and marinette actually more interesting in the movie than the show, or are you just cherrypicking the aspects of them you like the from the show and putting them on the movie characters to make your favorite amalgamation?

marinette fell for adrien not because he showed vulnerability and forgiveness and kindness and opened his heart up to her.... but because he awkwardly tried to help her up after being kind of weirded out by her? so like i guess she thought he was hot and that was basically it? chat noir fell for ladybug not because she was strong and confident and showed determination in the face of fear... but because she begrudgingly helped him up in the middle of a battle? so like i guess he thought she was hot and that was basically it? they fell for each other over just the bare minimum interactions? most of their relationship was a montage? like, did the movie do the work to convince you of lovesquare's romantic potential, or did you go into the movie already shipping them because the show had already convinced you?

thats totally a valid way to enjoy the movie ftr! i'm just saying.... idk it's weird to see people praising the movie for being "better" when i feel like a lot of the enjoyment of the movie actually hinges on watching the show as context for their characters. and i guess im just a cringe slow-burn enjoyer but i find it weird that people are using "faster" as a synonym for "better"

Wait do people actually think the ending of ii 17 is bad? Guys not only is it not the finale but erm... I like it. I actually really like it. Sure it's tragic and anticlimactic but that doesn't make it bad. To me. If this is the end of ii (which honestly I doubt) I think it's a solid ending. It doesn't feel unfinished or rushed or anything. Just cause something is open ended doesn't mean it's bad. I like that it's tragic. I like that I felt my stomach drop when the credits started rolling. Oh waiter more internal agony please ‼️‼️
