"Would anyone want to read --" Listen, imma stop you right there. Yes. YES, someone would want to read that. You write that weird little fucked up story. Or that domestic little slice of life story. That drabble or that 300k monster.
I promise someone wants to read it.

🌹 🌹 🌹
Jaehaerys began to force Alysanne to play and learn a board game called Cyvasse with him. One of the guards taught him the game and he decided to inflict it onto her for some reason. There were too many pieces and the rules often confused Alysanne, but Jaehaerys wasn’t letting her escape that easily and insisted she learn.
Thank you! πŸ˜„

Another time he brought a book and showed her a map of the Slave Cities. The final subject that Jaehaerys tried to educate her on was going over the marriage customs in a variety of different cultures.
Thank you!!!

ALICENT HIGHTOWER and AEGON II TARGARYEN in House of the Dragon | "Rhaenyra The Cruel"

Note
while i haven't seen it often, ive seen it more than once and it's the argument that the widows law could/would justify rhaenyra as heir. i just find it funny because y'all if that law favoured anyone in this situation it would be alicent not rhaenyra. there's a reason why neither rhaenyra or her supporters ever used it. it would have made even less sense than beesebury comment about valyrian blood and rhaenyra having more
The Widow's Law reaffirmed the right of the eldest son to inherit (it does not say the eldest son of the first wife, but the eldest son, period), or the eldest daughter, if there were no sons. Later it says that a man could not disinherit children by the first wife in order to bestow lands and titles on the children of the second. But the Widow's Law would not have considered Rhaenyra as Viserys' heir in the first place, as it very clearly says the eldest son has the right to inherit. If people want to argue that Viserys had the right to choose whichever heir he wished (the old king's word is law argument) regardless of the Widow's Law, that's fine, but that's a different argument. Cherry picking bits of the Widow's Law while discarding the part that would make Rhaenyra's claim illegitimate in the first place is silly.
A hypothetical situation where Widow's Law could be applied would be if, say, baby Baelon had lived and Viserys had still gone on to marry Alicent and have four children with her. Viserys could not then replace Baelon with Aegon II or Aemond, as Baelon would be the eldest son. Or, if Rhaenyra was still Aemma's only child, but Alicent had only daughters. Viserys could not replace Rhaenyra with a new daughter (those of you who have read Robin Hobb's Farseer trilogy might recognize this as one of the central conflicts, the current queen and mother of the king's youngest son, believes her son should be heir because his blood is more royal than that of the king's elder two sons by his first wife-- in GRRM's world this would be forbidden under the Widow's Law).
And OP, you're correct, Widow's Law, if you read the text of F&B, was primarily meant to protect second wives who outlived their husbands and who were then treated poorly and even cast out by their husband's children by his first wife. Alicent was such a widow, and having married Viserys, deserved the rights and protections due her as his wife. Aegon III did, to an extent, follow the Widow's Law in that Alicent wasn't sent away from the Red Keep after he became king, although she was confined to Maegor's Holdfast due to her mental state. Generally, Widow's Law is not helpful for Rhaenyra's case, and is in fact detrimental to it if you take it in its entirety rather than cherry picking one part out of context.
