Katniss: It’s not your job to cheer me up.
Peeta: Yes, it is. Cheering you up is my job.
Katniss: Well then you’re fired.
Peeta: You can’t fire me, I’m union, bitch.

Caracalla: who is your favourite gladiator?
Geta: obviously its the one who rides rhinos
Caracalla: that's such a basic fucking bitch answer
Geta: oh you wanna real answer brother?
Geta: a guy who recited a poem and bit a monkey

I know that it wasn't really important to the overall plot of any of the books (aside from tbosas because that was before he became involved as far as I remember) but I'm not getting the answers about Plutarch that I need
What exactly does he know that kept him alive and unharmed for all that time?
It can't be a case of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer, because that's not what Snow does, we know this.
Can't be that Plutarch wasn't replaceable, because they replaced him immediately after the rescue.
Can't be that it's because Plutarch's family was well-known, because we know that it's nothing for Snow to arrange for an "accident" to happen.
Can't be that it's because Plutarch is the only one that knows the truth behind the "bad oysters" or whatever it was, because I can't imagine Snow leaving the only one that knows about it alive.
On top of that, Snow knows that Haymitch drank the milk, so he knows that Plutarch looked him right in the face and lied, so there's no way Snow trusted him after that, and lets be honest that man has never trusted anyone in his life that wasn't his family (and even then we know what happens there) at the very least Snow knows that Plutarch lied to save Haymitch, and after everything that happens there's no way he didn't suspect Plutarch of being involved
But somehow, while everyone else gets punished for trying to defy him in various horrible ways, as far as we know none of that ever happens to Plutarch, he just keeps on as he has been. Even when the reveal happens in the original trilogy, he never mentions anything that alludes to Snow going the threatening his family route, or that he got any negative repercussions at all, and I'm assuming he'd at least reference it if he had as a way to reassure Katniss that he's on their side when she's suspicious of him, but he doesn't.
So what the fuck does he know that's kept him alive and away from Snow's wrath this entire time? Because it's got to be something BIG.
#i suppose it could be that snow kept him around because he knew Plutarch was with the rebels#so he could monitor him and see if the rebels were preparing to make a move#but that makes no sense either because if thats the case it didnt even work#and if snow was watching him to keep an eye on the rebels why monitor him for so long#instead of just waiting to see how they communicate and then following it back#anyway I'll be thinking about this for the next ten years tha ks#sunrise on the reaping#sunrise on the reaping spoilers#sotr spoilers#thg sotr#plutarch heavensbee#coriolanus snow

loved the cameos and all the relatives mentioned and the new ones we hadn't heard of before
absolutely adored that there was zero mention of even one Hawthorne
She said "Gale who?" and honestly, respect.

Actually Captain Jack Harkness is SO important. During a time when we couldn't get a single queer on screen in most shows and even those few we did get ended up dead 90% of the time, he was not only openly bisexual, he was openly bisexual and LITERALLY unable to die.

listen I need to talk about the gumdrops because when I first read it I thought (foolishly) that it wouldn't have really mattered if it was gumdrops or rock candy or a thousand other things, it would've had the same effect either way
upon further reflection it wouldn't have, oh my god it wouldn't have, because it was gumdrops, and it happened in the one place that Lenore specifically calls a refuge from peacekeepers, it's a place of safety of a kind, neither of them thought that it'd happen but they especially didn't think it'd happen there
and I just need to know if, while Snow was coming up with this plan of his and heard that it was gumdrops, he thought of that little kid that showed up for his first day at school in the Capitol with a bag of gumdrops, the closest he'd ever actually come to a real friend, who trusted him to be a safe place/person, and how it was also the last impression of Sejanus that he ever had because he couldn't even bring himself to watch it happen. and now he's using it as a weapon like he's weaponised everything else.
#we all talk about lucy gray haunting snow for the rest of his life#we do not talk about sejanus doing the same and i think we should#because it couldve been any candy but it wasn't it was gumdrops#and suzanne simply does not include details that arent relevant or a callback in some shape or form#anyway if you need me I'll be screaming in the corner#to clarify this is not meant to be a snow empathetic post#i dont think he felt any remorse about it whatsoever#i just want to know if he thought about sejanus while he was doing it#sunrise on the reaping#sunrise on the reaping spoilers#coriolanus snow#sejanus plinth#my beloved

Acacius: Can you keep a secret?
Geta: Yes, we can.
Acacius: “We?”
Geta: Yes, me and my brother. No one else will know.
Acacius: No, I want you to know but not Caracalla
Geta: If you don't want Caracalla to know then why are you telling me?
