Early History

While Jo was thinking she was sick from food poisoning it was revealed to her brother that she's pregnant after she gives him her power for him to survive the consequences of the jacked merging ritual he performed with his brother, Luke, instead of Jo. Jo and Alaric began to pick out names for the baby. Elena finds out about Jo's pregnancy when she tells her that Kai had been imprisoned in the 1903 prison world.

Jo and Bonnie are attacked by Lily during Jo's bachelorette party. As she is about to feed on Jo, Lily hears the babies' heartbeats and tells her that she is expecting twins. Later, Jo tells Alaric that they will be having twins and that the Gemini Coven will want to get their hands on them to strip Kai of power by performing another twin merge.

Damon reveals that Jo is dead after Kai stabbed her in the abdomen and believed the twins were killed too.

It is revealed by Valerie Tulle that the twins survived Kai's attack on Jo because the Gemini Coven performed a spell to transfer the twins into another body. It was also revealed that Caroline Forbes is currently pregnant with twins. It was revealed that she and her sister had siphoned bits of magic from Caroline's body for a long time, but as they grew in her womb, they siphoned more and more magic out of her system, until Caroline began to desiccate. Before she was born with her twin, they used telekinesis to keep her from being born because they were attached to the magic in Caroline's body. Bonnie and Valerie finished the job by drawing magic out of Caroline's body as the doctors perform a C-section, allowing Josie and her twin sister, Lizzie, to be born on March 15, 2014.

Alaric, the twins, and Caroline head to Dallas as he wants to keep his promise to Jo. While at a diner, the twins begin to cry and Caroline is having a hard time putting Josie to sleep. After talking to Klaus for a few minutes, Josie is silently sleeping and Klaus mentions they shouldn't wake her up, and he proceeds to hang up. In a flash-forward, Caroline is seen with the twins in New Orleans at St. James Infirmary looking for Klaus. The bartender tells Caroline that Klaus hasn't been seen or heard from in 3 years, which leaves Caroline puzzled. Josie, along with her sister and her father, calls Caroline before they go to bed. Josie along with her sister appears to miss Caroline being she has been on the run with Stefan Salvatore trying to get away from Bonnie. Before they go to bed, they say their good nights to Caroline before Alaric takes the phone from them to talk to Caroline alone. Alaric and Caroline both decide to use Josie, along with her twin sister Lizzie, to siphon Bonnie's spell over the Armory as Bonnie was suffering from the effects of Rayna's poisonous blood. Josie, along with Lizzie, was successful in opening the Armory doors and she embraces her father in triumph, while Caroline hugs Lizzie.

Josie and her sister, Lizzie, are seen video-calling Alaric until he asked for Seline. Seline tells them to go put on their swimsuits while they chat. Later, the girls visit Caroline at work; Seline leaves to go have a salad for lunch and leaves the girls with Caroline. When she left, Caroline mentions that Seline probably loves kale, which makes Lizzie ask her what is kale; Caroline responds you don't want to know. The video, that is given to her by Seline from Pete, which Caroline is attempting to watch gets to a certain point and the sound messes up to which Lizzie tells her mommy that it is too loud. Later that evening, Virginia breaks into the house, attacks Seline, and tries to kill the girls for opening the armory. Virginia stalks through the house where she comes to the girls' room. When inside, she hears laughing come from the closet and proceeds through before she can approach is knocked out by Caroline. Caroline checks the closet and finds the girls, Lizzie saying hi to her mommy, to which Caroline tells the girls don't move while she goes to handle Virginia. Josie and Lizzie are first seen fighting over the tuning fork, to which Alaric tells Lizzie to put the fork down immediately. She tells her dad she had it first, which prompts Alaric to yell at Lizzie to drop it. Lizzie drops the fork and she and Josie begin to scream over the vibrations the tuning fork makes. Alaric picks up the fork to stop the vibrations and proceeds to comfort the girls. Josie and Lizzie are getting ready for bed. Lizzie asks Seline for a bedtime story, to which Josie answers nothing sad. Seline then tells them "The Legend of Arcadius". Seline takes Josie and Lizzie to the local carnival where the sisters have fun playing games and won a goldfish. However, it's dead and Seline explains that the deceased need to be treated with dignity so that they can find peace in death. She also explains to them how their souls are taken by Cade and that they can show him what they've done. She teaches the twins the Incendia spell and sets a pile of wood, albeit hiding a corpse underneath, on fire. Caroline and Alaric issue an Amber Alert for her and Lizzie as Seline has kidnapped them. She and Lizzie are taken to a diner and then to a motel, where Seline offers them to Arcadius, who Seline and Sybil have called out to. To spare the twins the same fate as the sirens, Stefan offers himself to be Arcadius' servant; an offer which Cade accepts. Josie and Lizzie visit Caroline for Christmas since they haven't been with her since their dad took both to a safe location.

Alaric brings the girls back to Mystic Falls and takes them to the Armory. He calls Caroline wanting to bring the girls over and admits that he needs good parenting advice as unbeknownst to her, they've been acting up and their siphoning and magic are growing unstable. As he checks in on the girls, they continue coloring as levitating crayons above their heads.

Alaric soon arrives at Caroline's later that night with Josie and Lizzie in tow. Both are thrilled to see their mother and embrace her in warm hugs, commenting about how big they've grown seen she last saw them. They sit down as a family to get dinner and Lizzie accidentally siphons Caroline as she wants to use her sister's cup, the pink one. Josie sits by as she watches Alaric scold her sister and sees that she hurt their mom. Josie is visibly upset at her sister and attempts the Incendia spell on Lizzie but the spell failed without any magic to draw from. Nevertheless, Alaric and Caroline intervene grabbing the two girls; Caroline scolding Josie that those words could seriously hurt her sister. Alaric and Caroline look on, worried about their wild and troubling behavior.

When Kai Parker was brought back to life, she and her sister hide under their bed when Kai breaks free from his cell in the Armory. After he's subdued by Alaric and Caroline, she and Lizzie, with Bonnie's guidance, lock him away in a new prison world, ensuring their safety.

Josie and her sister are the flower girls for Stefan and Caroline's wedding. Later that night, during the reception she, Lizzie, and Bonnie are caught in the crossfire when Kelly Donovan made the Lockwood Mansion explode although, with Bonnie's guidance, she teaches them the spell that they need to survive, ultimately, Bonnie removes all the fire from the building and leads them to safety. Bonnie leads Josie and Lizzie out of the charred building. Alaric and Caroline are overwhelmed with joy as Bonnie saved them. They soon learn that they are not out of danger and they all leave Mystic Falls, stopping briefly at the Armory. They are seen later playing outside the Salvatore Boarding House as Alaric unpacks the newly designed Salvatore Boarding School sign, established for supernatural kids. Josie and Lizzie, as well as Alaric, are last seen being watched over by their mother, Jo's spirit, who had found peace.

In February 2019, the almost 5-year-old Josie was discovered by Jade Wellington, Wendy Estrada, and Diego Garcia after spying on them while they were magically detained in detention. After a brief demonstration by Wendy, Josie was convinced into siphoning the barrier spell away and freeing them. The next day, she and Lizzie were questioned by Alaric if either of them were responsible for unleashing the trio, but Josie denied it.

In late July of 2019, Josie and Lizzie are introduced to 7-year-old twins, Hope & Harmony Marshall. The twins take a liking to them, but due to Hope's attempt at self-isolation, they ended up bonding with Harmony.

In December 2020, Alaric was supposed to go Christmas Tree shopping with the twins but was alerted by Emma about a magical surge appearing on the Potential Student map. Unable to go shopping with the twins, Alaric left with Dorian to retrieve this new student. While he was gone, Josie took to walking around the school grounds and Alaric's office after hours when she heard footsteps coming. Using an Invisique spell, she successfully hid when Emma Tig came rushing in on the phone talking to her mom and her dad on the phone. She listened in as they discussed a girl name "Alyssa Chang" and how her house was "decimated" and her parents "found amongst the remains". Seeing this "Alyssa" as the girl who ruined Christmas shopping for her and Lizzie, as soon as Emma left the office, Josie rushed to her dorm and told Lizzie what she learned. This would lead to a rumor of Alyssa killing her parents that spread throughout the school. So when Alyssa Chang arrived the next day, she was singled out and ostracized during her first days at Salvatore.

In 2025, with Josie and Lizzie's upcoming 11th birthday coming up, they invited almost everyone at school, except Hope. Harmony told them off about it but Alaric brought Hope and it ended with the entire party ruined and descending into chaos. Harmony got injured getting in the middle of Hope and the twins fight as a result. Both sets of twins were punished accordingly.

This sequence of events caused her sister to have an emotional meltdown that caused her to destroy her and Lizzie's dorm, which scared her. Josie and Harmony had to calm her down, but Josie later learned Lizzie was Bipolar. Sometime after, Lizzie started writing in a diary, and to try and understand her sister, she began reading her diary and ended up sharing the detail with other witch students. She ended up being caught by Harmony and got chastised to not do it again.

Before Spring Break, Josie had developed a crush on Hope and slipped a note confessing her crush under the door of Hope's dorm. However, she quickly regretted it and lit a fire, hoping to destroy the note. However, it grew to destroy much of the dorm itself - burning almost everything they had, including a cherished picture Hope painted with Klaus and nearly Harmony's violin. Harmony used her Seer Sight to find out found out that Josie did it and confronted her. While understanding her explanation, she gave Josie the duration of the break to confess or she'd tell her dad. However, before Josie even dared to come forward, Lizzie spread a confidential video of Harmony - thinking it was Hope - and spread it throughout the school. This betrayal pushed Harmony to use Dark Magic and trapped Lizzie in her mind in retaliation as a form of punishment. After watching Lizzie have a Bipolar episode under the spell, Harmony lifts the spell. Lizzie apologized but between her actions and Josie never stepping forward to confess starting the entire situation, Harmony never forgave them, effectively destroying their friendship.

In 2026, she and her sister are students at Salvatore but have a reputation for being mean girls. They are constantly in competition with the Midnight Falls Coven (consisting of Harmony, Alyssa, and Penelope Park) for the title of "Most Powerful Witch". Upon news that Hope & Harmony Marshall are the daughters after Hope created a hybrid from a werewolf, Henry Benoit. With Hope suspended, they tried to grow their on the witch's popularity but were halted by Penelope and Alyssa. However, they didn't try anything once need that a vampire student, Roman Sienna, was an older vampire and part of a group of "nazi vampires" responsible for the deaths of Henry and Hope and Harmony's mother, Hayley.

A month later, Lizzie and Josie see their mom in the middle of a school tour. She pulls them aside later that they and explains the situation of the Mikaelson twins needing their help. They bargain with Caroline as she asks them to help Hope and Harmony - who are dying due to The Hollow's dark magic inside them. Caroline also tells Lizzie that it would be the first step in a long road toward forgiveness, effectively guilt-tripping her. Before Klaus could get a chance to talk to them, Alaric shoots him with an arrow through the chest, leaving the twins looking at what happened. At night during the full moon, the girls begin a spell to siphon the magic out of Hope & Harmony to insert it into Klaus, who will proceed to kill himself. After the spell is completed, Alaric takes the girls away.

Some days later, Lizzie and Josie come to learn Klaus passed away, leaving his daughters orphaned, and, by word of their mom, Harmony would be permanently living in Mystic Falls with Bonnie Bennett and continue to attend Salvatore with Hope.

In May, however, Lizzie and Josie would soon learn that Harmony had disowned Hope as her sister and vowed nothing to do with her.

When Summer began, they went to Europe to spend time with Caroline in Rome. When they return for the school year, they are surprised to learn Harmony changed her last name to "Kenner", cementing her separation from Hope, an act Josie would become envious of.

In December of 2026, Josie and Alyssa got into a confrontation that ended with Josie revealing to her that Lizzie was the one who spread the rumor that she killed her parents before she arrived at Salvatore. Because of this, she'd never anticipated Lizzie being sent to the ER because Alyssa linked Lizzie to a fire spell with her notebook.

At some point, Josie fell in love and began a romantic relationship with a fellow witch, Penelope Park, despite the objections of Lizzie and Penelope's best friends - Alyssa and Harmony. However, she broke up with her, unbeknownst to her reasoning that she can't watch Josie drag herself down to build up Lizzie.

Personality

One-half of the powerful Gemini twins, Josie is level-headed, borderline brilliant, and comfortable in her pansexuality. Though well-liked and her twin's social equal in every way, Josie is content to play second fiddle to her sister Lizzie. With Gemini's prone to bipolar behavior, the stable Josie is quick to protect Lizzie when her sister starts to go off the rails.

Having never known their biological mother, the twins were raised by Caroline Forbes. Now at this key time in their development, with their mother often absent, their need for their father's approval and love is heightened. Alaric's bond with Hope Mikaelson, and having to share his attention with the rest of the school, has led to each daughter alternately striving for perfection and acting out. She also shares similarities to her surrogate mother, Caroline, in subtle ways such as mindset and relationships. In general, Josie is the calm to her sister Lizzie's storm.

Josie, like her sister and ancestors, battles with an inner darkness that she doesn't quite understand. Through this, she is susceptible to the use of dark magic and negative influences. That doesn't disclude the resentment she inwardly holds toward Lizzie, as she's prone to making ableist comments & sabotaging her twin behind her back. She also dislikes being called out for wrongful behavior and resents any meaningful bonds Lizzie forges on her own.

Powers and Abilities

Josie is a Siphoner, a subsection of witches with no power of her own, meaning that she could only practice magic by siphoning it from another source.

Physical Appearance

Josie is a pretty young woman with brown hair and eyes. She also has an athletic build and light skin. She physically takes after her biological mother, Josette. Josie often wears her hair up, mostly in a simple, loose ponytail, but she once wore it in messy twin buns for a football game.

• Josette is a French girl's name. The meaning of the name is 'God Will Increase'.

• Lucas is the English form of the Greek name Λουκας (Loukas) which meant "from Lucania," Lucania being a region in Italy. The name's also related to the Latin Lucius, a Roman praenomen, or given name, which was derived from Latin lux "light."

• Saltzman is an Ashkenazic Jewish occupational name for a producer or seller of salt, from German Salz "salt" + Mann "man". Altered spelling of German Salzmann.

• If the Gemini Coven found out about the twins then they would have tried to take them from Jo and Alaric to strip Kai of his power as leader of the coven.

People saying Klaus would ship Hope with Lizzie and would support a romantic relationship between them are deluding themselves. Klaus did everything, up to and including dying, to keep his daughter alive and happy. Klaus in the afterlife is probably cussing Lizzie and the rest of her Stupid Squad out for trying to murder his child when she saved their ungrateful asses countless times. If Klaus was alive he'd kill Lizzie and everyone in that school (except Pedro). Good thing Caroline bailed on em

I’ll put my response under the cut so that Lizzie fans can just ignore this (because it’s not gonna be positive).

People are saying that about Klaus?? Uh... no, there’s no way he’d support that relationship. Are people forgetting how Lizzie has treated Hope? She bullied her when they were young, even before Josie lied about Hope. And even though Lizzie had started to become friends with Hope at the end of season 1, and was a good friend to her in season 2, which I had really liked, that all kinda went out the window in season 3, unfortunately. Throughout all of season 3, Lizzie was not a good friend to Hope. She did absolutely nothing to support or help Hope or be there for her when she was grieving and struggling after losing Landon, and said some really hurtful things to her as well. The only time she showed any support towards Hope was when Hope was choosing to die. And now Lizzie is trying to kill Hope? Like, I totally understand how hurt Lizzie is and I understand her wanting revenge and wanting to hurt Hope after what she did. But permanently killing her? I can understand having feelings like she wants to kill Hope because of all that anger, but actively pursuing it is a whole other thing. If Lizzie knew Hope as well as she’s supposed to, she’d know that it wasn’t the real Hope who put Alaric in a coma. They’ve been trying to tell us how Lizzie and Hope are best friends, how Hope is part of their family, which I didn’t buy anyway, but now I really don’t. Because if Lizzie really saw Hope as her best friend or part of her family, she wouldn’t want to lose the real Hope and she’d know that getting the real Hope back is the solution to the problem, not killing her. Just like if it were Dark Josie who had done it, she’d know it wasn’t really Josie and would be trying to get the real Josie back. But wanting to kill Hope shows that she doesn’t care about getting the real Hope back, or she just really doesn’t understand how the humanity switch works. And maybe she doesn’t, since she now believes that Hope is evil despite years of seeing the opposite. So while her behavior is understandable when it comes to Alaric, I think it’s too far when it comes to Hope when Hope isn’t at all herself and Lizzie should know that. But yeah, there’s just no way Klaus would want Hope to be with anyone who wanted to murder her at any point in time, or just anyone who had treated her badly. You’re right, he did everything he could to make sure that Hope would be happy and safe, he’d want Hope far away from Lizzie and the school. Fr though, Klaus has probably been losing it in the afterlife watching how the squad has treated Hope and one of them now trying to kill her. He definitely would not let any of them get away with their behavior if he were alive. And even though I think that Caroline being away all this time is very out of character, after what they’ve done with these characters and the school, I’m so glad they’ve kept Caroline out of it and hope it stays that way tbh.

Salvatore Prep's annual pokemon tournament

Check out full teams here

· at the beginning of every school year Salvatore prep holds a huge tournament

· it's the most exciting day of the year not only for the students but for the entire east coast

· people travel from all over to watch the 3 day tournament

· it also gives Alaric and the other teachers a chance to see each of the students strengths and weaknesses going into the new year

· the younger students battle 1 v 1

· most of them only have 1 or 2 pokemon anyways

· the older kids always come cheer them on and it gives the younger ones a boost of confidence

· Pedro makes it into the top 4 with his sandshrew

· the upperclassmen battle 3 v 3

· no one wants to battle Hope in the first round because she's won the last 4 years in a row so they know they don't stand a chance

· and as a kid her bulbasaur always dominated the competition even easily beating opponents with fire types

· Josie loses in the first round but that's okay she prefers watching the tournament anyways

· when Lizzie saw she was facing Alyssa she was pumped to knock her out of the competition

· her minun, kirlia and gothorita take out Alyssa's golduck, staryu and mareanie

· Cleo's fossil pokemon aurorus, craniados and omanyte win against Wade's fairy pokemon florges, ribombee and alcremie

· Sebastian makes it pretty far in the tournament because his gengar and two haunters are basically untouchable

· but Maya's nidorina, theival and morgrem eventually do take him out

· Maya is also the one to take Lizzie out soon after

· Landon's grotle, gloom and sunflora don't stand a chance to Rafael's pyroar, monferno and growlithe

· but Rafael loses to Jed's lycanroc, seviper and hitmonchan

· MG and Kaleb are always an exciting fight because it's an all out air battle

· Kaleb's Noivern, corvisquire and murkrow take out MG's swoobat, noctowl and gligar

· but Kaleb loses to Ethan in the next round with his nidorino, boltund and emolga

· Ethan's electric pokemon however have the type disadvantage to Jed's lycanroc

· the final round is Jed against Hope who went through the tournament with ease

· Jed has always made into at least the top 4

· he's one of the few trainers at the school who can actually keep up with Hope

· Jed uses his lycanroc, beedrill and hitmonchan

· Hope uses her ivysaur, heracross and alolan raichu

· beedrill manages to beat raichu first with its twineedle attack

· heracross easily defeats beedrill and goes on to fight hitmonchan

· it's a pretty even fight, both pokemon throwing punches at each other

· heracross also wins against hitmonchan when it uses its horn attack to throw hitmonchan into the air

· heracross is so tired it barely lasts with lycanroc

· so it's down 1 v 1, lycanroc v ivysaur

· the two pokemon are both extremely loyal to Jed and Hope that neither one will accept losing as an option

· it's a long match, the entire crowd excited to see if someone can actually beat Hope

· there's a few times when it seems like the battle will be over but both pokemon just keep getting back up determined to win

· as tough as lycanroc is not even it can withstand a solar beam from ivysaur

· ultimately Hope is the winner and celebrates her 5th win in a row

· Jed is happy with the fight even though he lost

· and he tells Hope he'll beat her next year

· and Hope looks forward to seeing him try

It's not so much that I hate this season of Legacies or anything, more so that I don't really understand what's going on?

It seems that in recent years the CW has gone on this awful track record of taking a show and it's most popular characters, slap some nonsensical storylines on them, and have literally nothing connect in any way whatsover.

Like, season 3 of Legacies was literally just: Raf is locked up in a prison world with his birth parents to avoid death, Hope and Landon fuck and he dies, the school almost shuts down because everyone left (we lost Pedro forever, let that sink in), the school doesn't close because they manage to scrape the bottom of the barrell for 30 students - one of them turns out to be a "bad guy", Hope goes off the deep end because Landon is "dead", Hope almost kills Lizzie and Josie and is not sorry at all, Josie and MG go to Mystic Falls High where they accomplish nothing and come back a couple of episodes later, Landon actually does something cool for a change by fighting his way out of Malivore and we get to see none of it, Landon comes back and breaks up with Hope, then goes off on a quest with Cleo to fight Malivore which I'm assuming we won't get to see this season because they refuse to let Malivore perish, Raf was replaced by a new werewolf girl whose dating Josie now who's very boring to watch (no offense to the actress), Jed still hasn't done anything all season, Kaleb keeps vanishing into thin air with zero explanation as to why, MG and Ethan had a buddy cop thing going for a second then Ethan wrecked it and we're back to square one, we just had a cult episode and next week is a Star Wars tribute for no reason whatsoever. Oh, and also, Clark keeps showing up in flashbacks for some reason when no one asked.

Long story short, nothing in this season is connected in any way and instead of using their last two episodes to solve any plotline they are piling on more bullshit because they're too scared to let go of Malivore and try out something, anything new.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually miss Julie Plec's writing. Not that it was all that better but at least the plot was somewhat coherent.

I don't mind the campiness and I'm glad they're trying out new things with Legacies, I just wish they would actually make it make sense in any way whatsoever. I often leave an episode with zero clue as to what happened and if any storyline was progressed because it's so damn muddled.

Thoughts on Legacies 2x16...The Finale

Fair warning, I’m still pissed about Rafael and honestly this entire season. Season 1 was such a gem and unfortunately we have to leave this season on this horrible end of a mess. Hosie fans are excited but after this week I’m more of a Hizzie person and forever Hafael!

Without further ado...

- Recap is still bullshit.

- Danielle Rose Russell is a cutie.

- Sigh...wtf even is this show. I still love it so. Talking ass pig.

- It is always Hope.

- Hol up, she can control the Necromancer...okay Dark Josie.

- Seeing the actors laid out like they’re dead always freaks me out. I type that just as MG says it’s just a show and it’s not real...but still.

- Hope acting like Lizzie is hilarious...lmao

- Kaleb is a cutie.

- This version of Hope is freakin me out. Lmao I love it.

- Raf...my baby. You deserved better.

- They really have a talking pig on this bitch. Lmao I can not!

- This Landon and Rafael story is so anger inducing.

- Thank you with the non-consensual kiss...guess Hosie folks ain’t getting their kiss.

- Why the fuck is Hope still sleep and Landon still dead?

- I know they didn’t anticipate this being their season finale. But with this early ending this year I hope they fix the mess they’ve turned this show into. My thoughts and suggestions.

1. You had a big enough cast already...no need to add new characters. The new cop and twins was wasted time and I think they realized this because they all disappeared without a trace. No more Sebastian...he was unnecessary. Bring back Dorian...thanks.

2. Hope is a Mikaelson!!!! She’s a 1st generation witch from that lineage. Please stop downplaying her power. She’s werewolf royalty. More history into her family from both sides please. Her connection to New Orleans. Those Nawlins witches wanted to kill Hope before she was even born because of a prophecy they believed. She’s a tribrid...please don’t forget this. I don’t need her to die to deal with her vampirism but writer’s let’s not forget this. She’s more than a hero and she’s way more than freaking Landon or a ship! Damn it, give her a decent storyline!!!!

3. Can we find out how Kaleb became a vampire? How MG came to be?

4. Deal with this malivore shit once and for all and move the fuck on. It’s old and tiring now.

5. Rafael’s family and history came up and then it was just dropped...consistency isn’t much to ask for. Can Rafael stop being an after thought? Especially if he’s supposed to be a main character.

6. Hafael, I ship it but please have a decent resolution to this. Stop making it seem like it’s one-sided because in my opinion, it is not. I’d like the writers to stop pretending they didn’t build this up all throughout season 1 from the start.

7. Pedro?

8. No more monsters of the week. More focus on this world with dealing with vampires, werewolves, witches, and an occasional doppleganger.

9. Season 1 was damn near perfect and it almost seemed effortless. I hope they get back to that in season 3. If not, I’m afraid this show won’t have long and with season 1, it could stay around for as long as vampire diaries did.

10. Fix it!!!!
