Hello sorry to bother you can you do of baby Mikaelson we’re hope she takes her to the school with her because ther parents are doing something’s .
Mine
Flufftober, October 23rd
Baby female Mikaelson reader x Hope Mikaelson
Warnings: None
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You're going to have so much fun here, Y/n/n" Hope tells you as she walks with your one year old self in her arms around the school's hallways. You giggle in return, snuggling into her shoulder as you watch all the scenery and students pass by.
As everyone passes, most of them give you and Hope weird looks, never seeing Hope with a baby before. But Hope pays no mind to them, instead going along her way down to the library where she's meeting Josie and Lizzie.
When she steps into the library, she immediately spots the Gemini twins. Josie's sitting on one side of the couch and Lizzie in an arm chair. No one else seems to be in the library which makes Hope lighten up a little more on her grip on you. She wants to make sure nothing happens to you, and the less people around, the better she thinks. Especially at the school where apparently no one likes to keep to their selves and own business.
"Hi girls" She says sitting next to Josie on the couch. They both respond back and Josie's the first to acknowledge you when you peek your face out of where it was nuzzled into Hope's neck
"And you must be Y/n. You're so cute" Josie's face scrunches up in cuteness as you smile up at her. You usually don't like people outside of your family, especially when you have time with Hope, but it's clear you're taking an interest in the brunette siphoner.
Hope smiles at your reaction and how you're seemingly interested in Josie. "You want to hold her?" She asks her.
"Really? Yeah, please, if you don't mind" Josie lights up while lizzie just watches with her head tilted at the interaction. Josie has always loves babies, weirdly, so she's not going to step in at the moment.
"Of course not, here we go" Hope lifts you into Josie's arms and lap. She takes care in how you react to being switched over to someone else's arms, and you're not fudding so she let her grip go on you and sit back down.
"Hi, Y/n. My name is Josie, and the other girl over there is my sister, Lizzie" Josie points to Lizzie sitting in the armchair a couple feet away.
Your eyes follow where Josie points to the blond siphoner and do a little wave like you've seen your sister do many times before. "Hi" Lizzie says awkwardly.
Hope chuckles at the blonde, "You okay Lizzie?" "Yeah, sure, she's not gonna cry right?" Lizzie looks back to where Josie is playing patty cake with you. You're a giggling mess in the new girl's lap. You really like her. She's way better than the other people your Mama and Dada have introduced to you before, at least from what you can remember of those people.
"No, she won't. She's not really a crier all that much" Hope answers Lizzie as she watches you have fun with the brunette. "That's....good. What are you doing?" Lizzie asks her sister from where she was making funny faces and you burst out laughing.
"I'm not sure how to respond to that. Making funny faces?" Josie turns to her sister confused. You follow, turning to the blonde and tilt your head to the side in confusion.
You then reach out your arms, hands in a grabby motion. "What?" Lizzie's face goes blank. Josie rolls her eyes and turns to Hope for permission. The auburn nods her head in answer and Josie gets up and carefully places you on Lizzie's lap.
"Oh, no, no, no. You see I'm not good with babies. What are you doing? Oh okay uh what do I do?" Lizzie's eyes widen as you reach up and grab her hair into your tiny hands, feeling the softness of it.
"It's alright Lizzie, no need to freak out. She's just trying to get to know you is all" Hope tries to reassure her. "Okay, okay, I'll just stay like this and, yeah you're good, go ahead" Lizzie says as you lean against her chest, her hair still clutched in your fists.
Hope and Josie chuckle as Lizzie get's used to you. And eventually you end up starting to doze off in her arms.
"I think it's time for me and Y/n to go up to my room" Hope says, getting up from beside Josie. "Alright, no problem, we'll see you later?" Josie says. "Yeah, of course" Hope responds before she bends over to take you from Lizzies lap.
When she tries to pick you up from the blonde, your grasp on tighter to the girl's hair. "Ouch, quite a grip she's got" Lizzie winces as her hari gets pulled again.
"Yeah, sorry about that" Hope says in sympathy before prying your hands away from her hair. "There we go" She brings you into her arms, you pouting from being pulled away from Lizzie.
You settle down again once your cuddled against your sister's chest, nuzzling into the warmth radiating off of her. "Bye, girls" Hope smiles before walking to the exit of the library.
As she takes you upstairs, you start to whine, getting cranky. "I know, I know you're tired, we'll be at my dorm in just a minute. And then we can get all comfy and take a nap." Hope rubs her hand up and down your back.
Once you guys are in her room and she sits down on her bed with you still nuzzled into her chest, you start giggling. "What's so funny, huh?" She chuckles.
"Mine" You say one garbled word, grasping onto her shirt tighter than Lizzie's hair. "Yeah, I'm yours. I'm your big sister" She places a kiss on the top of your head.
You started talking a couple months ago, a few words here and there. Which was surprising to your guys' parents when you said your first word a couple days before your first birthday. The word being 'Kol' because of your uncle spending so much time with you to make sure your first word is his name. Which was one of his priority weird main goals. But at least it was a harmless one.
"You want wolfie?" She asks, leaning over to grab your stuffed wolf. You look up at her and nod. "Here you go" She places the wolf in your arms, which you snuggle with immediately before cuddling back into Hope's chest.
That's how you guys stay for the rest of the afternoon, Hope taking a nap with you. There is assignments for classes she should be really doing instead, but it can wait for the last minute. She'd rather prioritize you and spend time with you. Especially since the classes are rather boring anyways.
You guys don't wake up until dinner time, eating all the ice cream for dessert. Which is something she will not be telling her parents about because she doesn't really feel like being reprimanded for feeding you too much sugar.
"hi, lizzie!" you greeted, feigning obliviousness. "i was just showing this person around. they’re new."
"yeah," the new student added, "they’ve been really helpful."
lizzie’s smile tightened. "well, y/n is quite busy. maybe i should take over."
you raised an eyebrow. "it's my job as a tour guide to show new students around. are you jealous, lizzie?"
lizzie’s eyes narrowed. "and what if i am?"
you smirked, turning towards the new student. "do you want to see my favorite part of the school?"
lizzie glanced at you, then back at the new student. "actually, i know a lot about the school too. i can show you some hidden spots."
you smiled, feeling a thrill of anticipation. "great! lead the way, lizzie."
the new student asked you another question, pulling you away slightly. lizzie watched you, her frustration and longing clear. she knew this game had been going on for months, and the fear of making a move was holding you both back.
but maybe, just maybe, your subtle push was what she needed. lizzie squared her shoulders, determined to finally make her feelings known.
you were walking down the hallway, lost in thought, when you collided with the resident tribrid. her sketchbook fell to the floor, and pages scattered everywhere. as you bent down to help gather them, you caught sight of some sketches that made your heart skip a beat. there were various sketches of your face and eyes, captured with impressive detail.
"is this… me?" you asked, eyes wide with surprise.
hope’s cheeks turned pink as she nodded, her voice almost a whisper. "yeah. i had to mix five different colors to get the right shade for your eyes."
blushing, you looked at her with a mix of curiosity and flattery. "that’s really cool. what’s this for?"
"it’s for my art class," hope replied quickly, her eyes avoiding yours. "i needed a subject."
you smiled, feeling a warm glow at being chosen. "i’m honored that you picked me."
hope’s gaze softened, and she said, almost too softly for you to hear, "why wouldn’t i? you’re beautiful."
your heart skipped a beat at her words, and you thanked her as you handed her back the sketchbook. just then, the bell rang.
"we should get to class," you said, your voice a bit shaky from the unexpected compliment.
then, with a playful grin, you add, "but seriously, hope, i'll be your muse any day. let me know if you ever need me to model for you."
hope rolled her eyes at you as her blush deepened further. she gives you a shy smile as you walk together to your next class.
• josie is very supportive of you, offering help or encouragement whenever you need it and being a good listener.
josie sat nervously at a library table, her textbook open but her focus elsewhere. she glanced at the door every few moments, her cheeks flushed with anticipation.
she looked up when she heard the library door creak open for what felt like the hundredth time, and you walked in, smiling warmly as you spotted her.
"hi, josie," you greeted, walking over to her.
josie’s nerves spiked as she managed a shy wave. "hi y/n."
"ready to dive into this?" you asked, taking a seat next to her.
josie nodded vigorously, though she was clearly flustered. "yeah, definitely."
as you both started discussing the exam material, josie found it difficult to focus. every time you looked at her or brushed against her hand, her heart raced and her face turned bright red.
you smiled at her, making josie’s heart flutter even more. "this section is tricky, huh?" you said, completely engrossed in the study session.
josie tried to follow along, but her nerves were almost overwhelming. despite her anxiety, she was thrilled to be spending time with you.
by the end of the session, josie managed a shy smile. "thanks for studying with me," she said softly.
you returned the smile, and josie’s heart skipped a beat. "anytime. see you around?"
josie nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "yeah. see you soon."
as you left, josie couldn’t help but smile, her nervousness giving way to a hopeful excitement.
• she drops hints and make flirtatious comments, but she would never express her feelings directly because deep down, she’s afraid that you don’t feel the same way.
• if her feelings are strong, she gets a bit nervous and flustered around you, especially in more personal or intimate moments.
you were busy hanging a string of lights when penelope breezed over, a playful smirk on her lips. "careful with those," she teased, her eyes twinkling. "we wouldn’t want you to make this place look like a christmas disaster."
you glanced up at her, feigning concern. "oh, i’m sure i’ll manage. unless, of course, someone were to help me."
penelope raised an eyebrow, her cheeks warming slightly. "and what makes you think i’d be interested in helping?"
you took a step closer, lowering your voice. "well, if you help me out, maybe i’ll be convinced that you’re not just here to flirt with everyone."
penelope’s eyes widened just a fraction as she inched closer, clearly intrigued. “and what if i do help you?"
you smiled, leaning in so close that your voices mingled. "then i’ll get to see if your charm is as effective up close as it is from afar."
before she could reply, lizzie’s voice rang out from across the gym. "hey, can you two get back to work? we’re on a tight schedule here!"
penelope’s blush deepened as she abruptly turned away, focusing intently on the decorations. you watched her with a smirk, the brief moment of connection now interrupted but definitely memorable.
Written for my personal fic writing challenge for 2024, Sophie's Year of Fic! Featuring a new fic being posted every Friday, all year long :)
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries/The Originals
Summary: When a serious magical threat comes to Mystic Falls and puts Josie and Lizzie at risk, Caroline and Ric send Klaus' ex down to New Orleans to seek safe harbor for the girls with him. Or, what if Y/N went to New Orleans instead of Caroline, and Klaus was free to see them.
I chewed my lip as I stared up at the building before me. If this were any other situation, I would've turned on my heel and run by now. But there were two little girls, one on either side of me, who needed me to be strong. This was their best hope of being safe, which meant all of my stuff needed to take a back seat.
I took a deep breath, trying not to let the girls sense just how nervous I was, then started heading for the door to the bar. It was the middle of the day, so hopefully no one would mind me bringing two kids in with me.
Caroline and Ric had trusted me with Josie and Lizzie, and I refused to let them down. Some new supernatural none of us knew existed had come to town and, worse, had started going after the girls. So, I'd sat down with their parents, and we'd figured out a plan to keep them safe: take them to the bigger, badder supernatural who I used to know.
My eyes scanned the bar for the familiar face of Klaus Mikaelson, and after a moment, I found him. He was leaning against the counter talking to the bartender, and I was surprised he couldn't hear my heart beating out of my chest from here. I hadn't seen him in years, and I'd also rejected him the last time I saw him. But he was the best chance the girls had, so I was just going to have to hope he didn't hate me now.
I cleared my throat, shook my nerves off as well as I could, herded the girls into a booth where I could keep an eye on them, then turned to face the bar. I found Klaus already looking at me, his arms crossed and a curious look on his face as he leaned against the counter. A wave of emotions hit me at once, but I shoved back against the feeling, squaring my shoulders and putting one foot in front of the other until I stood in front of Klaus.
"Hello, love," he said, and my heart damn near stopped in my chest. I took a deep breath. "It's good to see you again."
"It's... it's good to see you again, too."
And it was. Most of my friends had been relieved when Klaus finally left town, and they'd freaked out the minute they found out he'd come back to see me. And at the time, I'd convinced myself they were right, and that it was better he was gone. But standing before him now, that slight smirk on his face, I realized I had really, really missed him.
"So what brings you to New Orleans?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He looked past me to where the girls were playing a clapping game in the booth. "I take it it has something to do with them."
I sighed. "Yeah. Yeah, it does."
"And who's the father?"
Now it was my turn to cross my arms and raise an eyebrow.
"They're actually not mine. But I'd say you don't have a lot of room to judge, considering the reason you moved to New Orleans in the first place."
"Who said I was judging? I was just trying to gauge how jealous I might need to be."
I huffed a laugh, trying and failing to hide my smile by glancing at the ground. Nik grinned at me, and for just a flash of a moment, it was like nothing had changed between us since the last time I'd seen him.
But then I heard Josie and Lizzie behind me, and I remember why I'd come here in the first place. I sighed and met Nik's eyes again.
"I need your help."
His eyebrows immediately drew together, and he straightened up from the bar, taking a half step towards me. The intensity of his worried stare made my heart melt.
"What's wrong, love?"
"There's a new supernatural in town. Or a few new ones, I guess. We're struggling a little bit to deal with them, and they've made Josie and Lizzie their targets. Caroline and Ric are their parents for all intents and purposes, and we sat down and decided our best chance at keeping the girls safe is if I left with them, alone, and came to you."
"And whose idea was that?"
"...Mine. It... actually took a lot of convincing for Ric and Caroline to let me bring them to you."
A hint of a smile flickered across Nic's face as he huffed a barely audible laugh. His beautiful blue eyes met mine with the intensity I'd seen a thousand times for both good and bad moments, and it made my heart race.
"You will always be welcome here, with me. I'll keep the three of you safe."
Relief washed over me. I closed my eyes, taking a minute, and when I opened them again I found Nik still watching me intently. I thought he might lean in for a hug or a kiss or something else, but instead, he just gave me a small smile and nodded in the direction of the girls.
"Mind introducing me?"
The girls absolutely loved Nik from the first moment they met him, and he was nothing but sweet and patient and kind. He made a few absolutely ridiculous jokes that had them falling out of their chairs laughing, and had my heart melting all over again. We left the bar together, the four of us strolling through the streets of New Orleans as Nik led us to his home. He glanced over at me a few times with the roguish smile I'd come to love, and despite the fact that I'd come here on the run to protect the girls, I couldn't help enjoying this moment with him. In different circumstances, it might've just felt right.
"We're almost home, but I just had a thought," said Nik, his arm swinging back and forth with Lizzie's as they marched down the street together. Lizzie and Josie held hands, and I did the same with Josie, making us a little chain. I turned to smile at Nik over the girls' heads.
"And what's that?" I asked. Nik smiled at me, then turned his attention to the girls.
"My favorite ice cream place in the whole of the city is very close to here. Does anyone else feel like we ought to make a pitstop?"
"YES!" the girls screamed in unison. I laughed as Nik stopped abruptly, turning on his heel and then pulling us in the other direction.
"Alright, come on then!"
The girls cheered as they marched after him, and my heart soared as I followed along behind the three of them. I'd gotten to see Nik like this every so often in Mystic Falls, but a lot of our interactions were colored by whatever drama he and his family had going on with my friends and I. Being with him, like this, and seeing him being so amazing with the girls was seriously doing something to me.
"This place really does have the best ice cream," Nik assured me as we stepped inside and joined the line, the girls bouncing excitedly in front of us as we stood shoulder to shoulder. "Hope loves it."
"Hope... how is she? How's... how's Hayley?"
Nik smirked. "They're both good. We've had our rough patches, but Hayley and I have found our rhythm as coparents despite not being together."
I released a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding, and Nik laughed.
"Now look who's trying to gauge their jealousy."
I rolled my eyes, but couldn't hold back a grin all the same.
"Whatever. But... you're happy? Being a dad, and being here, and... and everything?"
The corner of Nik's mouth quirked up, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.
"Like anything, it's had its ups and downs. But I wouldn't trade Hope for anything in the world."
I nodded, and the two of us fell into comfortable silence as we worked our way through the line. The girls were ecstatic to try their cones, and Nik recommended his favorite flavor to me, which lived up to the hype he'd promised. The four of us wandered slowly the rest of the way to our destination, which turned out to be an absolutely massive compound in the middle of the French Quarter.
Nik pushed open the door and led us inside just as the sun began to set outside. I came to a stop in the beautiful open space just inside the front doors, staring around at it in awe.
"C'mon, love," Nik said gently, resting a hand on my back and guiding me in the direction of the stairs. "Let's get the girls settled in for the night."
I just nodded, putting my focus back on the girls as we followed Nik through the massive compound. He pushed open one of the many doors along the second floor, letting us into a bedroom with two beds. I even spotted a few kids books on the shelves to one side of the room.
I slid my eyes to Nik with a raised eyebrow, but he just shrugged.
"For Hope, and any friends she might decide to bring over when the time comes. No reason to not be prepared, especially since we have the space for it." The corner of my mouth tugged up into a smile, that warm feeling spreading in my chest again. "I'll bring a few of her pajamas in, they should fit these two alright."
"Thanks."
"Of course, love."
Between the two of us, Nik and I managed to get the girls settled down and in bed in under an hour. They'd had a long, tiring day, after all, and if I weren't practically jittering with nerves after the afternoon I'd spent with Nik I'm sure I would've been right behind them.
Instead, I found myself following him after we closed the door to the girls' room, going who knows where in this massive house in his new life since he'd left Mystic Falls. After a few moments, I couldn't really take the silence anymore, so I spoke up.
"Where are the rest of the Mikaelsons?" I asked, my voice thankfully even. "I'd expected to see at least one of the siblings by now."
Nik turned to give me a little smirk over his shoulder, and I hated that he could probably hear my heart race.
"They're busy with other things for the night. And Hope is with Hayley having a mother-daughter weekend away from everything. It's just us, tonight."
My heart sped up even more, although that shouldn't have been possible. After a moment, Nik led me into the kitchen and headed straight for the refrigerator. I took a seat at one of the high stools at the counter, watching him as he moved.
"I assume you still like hot chocolate more than most other drinks?" asked Nik without turning around. I smiled.
"Absolutely. I know it's been a little while, but come on Nik, I'm not a completely different person."
He paused to give me a smile over his shoulder, then continued in his hot chocolate preparations. I scratched at something on the counter while he worked, trying to get up the courage to talk about all the million things hanging in the air before us. Finally, I cleared my throat and forced myself to look up, watching Nik's back as I spoke.
"Thank you for this, by the way. For taking us in, even after... Well, even after I told to leave me and Mystic Falls."
Nik sighed, bringing our two mugs of hot chocolate over and setting them down on the counter before walking around to stand in front of me. We were barely an inch apart, but he didn't make a move to close the distance anymore. I'd set a boundary the last time I'd seen him, and he clearly had no intention of crossing it.
"I will always be here for you if you need me, love. If you seek me out for refuge, or to change your mind and take me up on my offer to show you the world, or even because I make the best hot chocolate in the entire world and you just can't live without it... I'll be waiting."
I stared up at Nik, a slight twinkle in his eye, as I fought to keep tears out of my own. He'd truly caused so many problems in Mystic Falls. My friends' dislike-to-hate of him made sense. But he'd always been sweet and funny, patient and kind and understanding, with me. If I was totally honest with myself, I'd been starting to fall in love with him before I'd decided to side with my friends and push him away.
"Don't cry, love. It's alright," he said, his eyes scanning my face. I hiccupped, the tears finally starting to fall, a combination of all the different emotions and stressors of my past few days coming together and overwhelming me at once. I'd held it together for the girls, but now they were in bed and taken care of, so I could safely fall apart.
I leaned forward, falling into Nik's chest, and he wrapped his arms tightly around me the moment I did.
"It's alright. You're safe with me."
That brought on a whole new wave of tears, not just for the stress of the day, but for everything I'd lost with Nik, too. He just held me tighter, rubbing soothing circles on my back as I let it all out, then slowly started to calm down.
I pulled back slightly once I managed to get ahold of myself. One of Nik's hands stayed on my arm, and he brought his other hand up to gently cup my face, wiping away a few of the tears with his thumb.
"What can I do, love? Tell me how I can help you and I'll do it."
I choked back another sob, this one turning into a half-laugh.
"You've already done enough, Nik. More than enough. It's just... it's been such a long day. I feel like I've been barely holding back a complete stress breakdown for like a week, and I always had the girls with me so I had to keep it together..."
"Well then, why don't we get you settled into a room so you can get some sleep, hm? We can always talk more in the morning."
Nik started to move to help me off the stool and up to bed, but I stopped him, hands resting on his biceps. He raised an eyebrow at me but didn't move away.
"No, Nik. I don't want to talk tomorrow, I need to say this. I... I love you."
Any hint of humor or lightness dropped off Nik's face, replaced by completely serious shock. My heart was racing out of my chest, and I knew he could hear it, but I pushed on anyway.
"I think I was falling in love with you before, and I didn't want to admit it to myself. But being with you here, now... it feels right. There are a bunch of powerful murderers chasing me, trying to hurt two kids whose parents have trusted me, exclusively, with their safety, and I'm in a strange city far from anywhere I've ever called home. But for some reason I just feel... happy. Happy to see you again, happy to spend time with you, about a thousand times calmer than I was without you. You feel like home, Nik, and I love you. I just... that just feels like something you should know."
Nik's eyes had been scanning and searching my face intently the entire time I'd been talking, the slightest hint of wetness gathering in his own eyes. A smile tugged at the corner of his mouth once I'd finished speaking, and he brought his hand back up to cup my face, his thumb brushing lightly over my cheek.
"I don't think I've made it any secret how I feel about you, love," he said, voice soft and tender. "But in case you need to hear it again, I love you. Always and forever."
A few tears managed to sneak out and down my cheeks again, but this time I had a smile on my face. Nik's expression mirrored my own.
"Once... once all of this is over, do you think... well, maybe I could come back here. To New Orleans, once the girls are safe back home. That is, if... if your offer to follow you to New Orleans still stands from the first time you extended it?"
Nik beamed back at me. "I can honestly tell you that absolutely nothing would make me happier."
My smile grew to the point of pain as I stared up at Nik, a light in his eyes that I'd missed much more than I'd realized. I leaned forward just slightly, Nik mirroring my move as I glanced at his lips. One corner of his mouth rose higher in the troublemaking smirk that always made my heart race before he closed the rest of the distance between us, his lips meeting mine, soft at first and then with the same urgency pulsing in my heart.
I'd kissed him before, but it had always been tempered by concern for my friends, and about what they'd think. But this time, as fireworks exploded in my chest and thousands of butterflies took off in my stomach, I couldn't bring myself to care.
I was safe and happy in the arms of the man I loved, kissing him senseless. I'd missed out on a lot of times like this, but from now on, I didn't intend to let anything keep me from spending every second I could just like this, friends and insane supernatural threats be damned. Always and forever.
The Forgotten Heir (Hope Mikaelson x R)
Requested by anon: Could I please request an imagine about being raised with the Saltzman twins and Caroline and Alaric loving you like parents but the twins both kinda fancy you and Alaric introduces you to Hope (you get along with her like a house on fire) when one day you get very ill and discover you're the first of an unknown extremely powerful supernatural? Ty
Words: 1577
The Saltzman house was always lively, chaotic in the most comforting way. From a young age, you had grown used to the constant banter between Lizzie and Josie, their wildly different personalities creating a vibrant energy that made every day feel like an adventure. Alaric Saltzman had taken you in when you were just a toddler, explaining that you had been left at the door of the Salvatore School with no explanation, no note, and no trace of your origins. Caroline, always the maternal force of the household, had been the one to insist they keep you.
You’d grown up with the twins, sharing everything from toys to teenage angst. They were your sisters in every way that mattered, except for one inconvenient truth—as the years passed, both Lizzie and Josie began to see you as more than just family. Their affections were subtle at first: Lizzie's extra attention during school events, Josie’s lingering glances during movie nights. It created a tension you couldn’t quite name but felt in your core.
Still, your life was good—as normal as it could be for someone raised in a world teeming with supernatural beings. Alaric was your guiding light, a mix of father and mentor who ensured you knew how to defend yourself against the dangers lurking in Mystic Falls. Caroline balanced him out with her warmth, always there to remind you to embrace the human moments, even in a life surrounded by magic.
One day, Alaric introduced you to someone new: Hope Mikaelson. The tribrid was everything you weren’t—confident, sharp, and fully aware of her place in the supernatural world. From the moment you met, the two of you connected effortlessly. She understood things about you that no one else did, especially your unease about your origins. Around her, you felt seen in a way that was hard to describe.
You and Hope became inseparable, much to the twins’ chagrin. Lizzie, ever dramatic, rolled her eyes whenever Hope was around, though you caught the flashes of jealousy in her gaze. Josie, quieter but no less affected, would retreat into herself whenever Hope visited, the hurt in her eyes unmissable. You tried to navigate the delicate balance, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.
It started with a fever—a searing heat that no spell or potion could ease. One moment, you were sparring with Hope in the training yard, and the next, you were collapsing to the ground, the world spinning as your body betrayed you. Panic erupted around you as Alaric and Hope carried you into the infirmary, their faces pale with fear.
Days turned into weeks, and your condition only worsened. The fever gave way to strange symptoms: bursts of uncontrollable energy that shattered glass and sent objects flying, a glowing mark that appeared on your forearm, pulsating with an otherworldly light. The school’s witches tried every spell they knew, but nothing worked. Even Josie, whose magical prowess was unmatched, was at a loss.
“What’s happening to me?” you whispered one night, your voice weak as you looked up at Alaric. He sat by your bedside, exhaustion etched into his face.
“I don’t know,” he admitted, his voice thick with emotion. “But we’re going to figure it out. I promise.”
It was Hope who finally uncovered the truth. She had spent days poring over ancient texts, refusing to rest until she found answers. One evening, she burst into your room, a thick leather-bound book in her hands.
“You’re not sick,” she said, her eyes alight with urgency. “You’re awakening.”
“Awakening?” you echoed, confusion and fear warring in your chest.
Hope nodded, flipping open the book to a faded illustration of a figure surrounded by swirling energy. “You’re something called a Primordial. According to this, you’re the first of your kind—a being that predates all supernatural species. Witches, vampires, werewolves… they all descended from something. And that something is you.”
The room fell silent as her words sank in. You stared at the illustration, your heart pounding. It explained so much—your unexplained abilities, the way you’d always felt like an outsider, even in a world full of supernatural beings.
“But why now?” Josie asked, her voice trembling. She stood in the corner, her arms wrapped around herself. “Why is this happening now?”
Hope’s expression darkened. “The book says Primordials awaken when the balance of the supernatural world is threatened. Something big is coming, and they—whoever ‘they’ are—will be looking for you.”
The revelation changed everything. Your illness was no longer a mystery, but it was far from over. As the days passed, your powers continued to grow, each new ability more unpredictable than the last. One moment, you were summoning fire with a flick of your hand; the next, you were freezing entire rooms with a thought. It was exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure.
Through it all, the Saltzmans and Hope stood by your side. Lizzie, despite her jealousy, became fiercely protective, snapping at anyone who dared question your place in the school. Josie, ever the healer, worked tirelessly to help you control your powers. And Hope… Hope was your anchor, the one who kept you grounded when the weight of your new reality threatened to crush you.
One night, as you sat on the roof of the Salvatore School with Hope, staring out at the star-filled sky, you finally let yourself ask the question that had been haunting you.
“What if I can’t control this?” you said, your voice barely above a whisper. “What if I hurt someone?”
Hope turned to you, her gaze steady. “You’re not going to hurt anyone. And even if you do… we’ll figure it out. You’re not alone in this.”
Her words brought a lump to your throat. For so long, you’d felt like an anomaly, a question mark in a world that demanded answers. But with Hope, with the Saltzmans, you weren’t just a mystery to be solved. You were family.
The next day brought a new challenge. Alaric called you to his office, his expression unreadable as he placed a map on the desk. It showed Mystic Falls and the surrounding areas, marked with strange symbols that glowed faintly in the dim light.
“These markings have been appearing,” he said, tapping one of the glowing spots. “Ley lines converging, strange energy readings. It’s all connected to your awakening. Something—or someone—is amplifying these disturbances.”
“You think they’re looking for me?” you asked, your stomach knotting.
“I’m sure of it,” Alaric replied. “We need to investigate, but it’s dangerous. I want you to stay here while we figure it out.”
Before you could protest, Hope stepped forward. “If they’re looking for them, they’ll come here eventually. Waiting isn’t a plan; it’s a trap. Let us help.”
Alaric hesitated, then nodded. “Fine. But we do this carefully.”
That night, you, Hope, and the twins ventured into the woods surrounding Mystic Falls. The air felt electric, charged with a palpable energy that made the hairs on your neck stand on end. As you approached the first marked spot on the map, a circle of stones etched with glowing runes came into view.
“This is it,” Lizzie whispered, her voice uncharacteristically subdued.
Before anyone could respond, the air shimmered, and a figure stepped out of the shadows. Cloaked in black, their face obscured, they radiated power.
“The Primordial,” the figure said, their voice echoing unnaturally. “You should not exist.”
“Well, I do,” you shot back, surprising even yourself with the defiance in your tone.
The figure raised a hand, and a surge of energy erupted from their palm. Instinctively, you threw up your own hand, a shield of light materializing just in time to deflect the attack. The force sent you stumbling, but Hope was at your side in an instant, her eyes glowing with tribrid power.
“You’ll have to get through all of us,” she growled.
The battle that ensued was nothing short of chaos. Lizzie and Josie combined their magic to form barriers and counterattacks, their sibling synergy unmatched. Hope transformed into her hybrid form, her strength and ferocity turning the tide in your favor. But it was you who delivered the final blow. Summoning every ounce of your newfound power, you unleashed a wave of energy so intense it shattered the runic circle and sent the figure flying.
As the dust settled, the figure vanished, leaving behind only an ominous warning: “You cannot stop what is coming.”
In the aftermath, you stood in the clearing, your body trembling from the exertion. Hope placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder, her eyes filled with pride and concern.
“You did it,” she said softly. “You saved us.”
“But at what cost?” you whispered, staring at the destroyed circle. “They’re still out there. And they’ll come back.”
“And we’ll be ready,” Alaric said, stepping into the clearing with reinforcements from the school. “You’re not alone in this.”
Later that night, as you sat by the fire with the Saltzmans and Hope, a sense of calm washed over you. For the first time in weeks, the fear and uncertainty felt manageable. You weren’t just a Primordial. You were part of something bigger—a family that would stand by you, no matter what.
And as the flames crackled and the stars shone overhead, you allowed yourself to hope. For the battles yet to come. For the family you’d found. For the strength to face whatever was coming next.
7 Days of Scarepairs: Denzo | Damon Salvatore x Enzo St. John (The Vampire Diaries) + "Trick or Treaters"
The door went for the millionth time. Damon didn't bother to stifle his groan of annoyance this time, but Enzo was already on his feet and greeting the stupid little brats as they screamed for a treat. He indulged them, chuckling as they shoved their greedy little fists into the bowl and shovelled more than the polite amount of candy into their buckets and bags.
They moved on, and Enzo closed the door just as Damon started to loudly say, "You know, it's called trick or treating. I suggest that next time, we give them a trick."
Enzo shook his head at him, giving him that familiar look as he reclaimed his seat beside him on the couch. "Oh? Let me guess: you want to show a little bit of fang, some black veins and red eyes?"
Damon spread his hands and raised his eyebrows.
"I'm not letting you scare some poor little kids on Halloween," Enzo said sternly, shoving the bowl back onto the coffee table, exchanging it for his glass.
"Why not?"
"Because they're innocent children," he countered like that was obvious before taking a drink of his completely victimless pint of blood. "But if it really means that much to you, then you can answer the door next time it goes and pretend you're wearing makeup."
The door went again, right on time. Damon grinned wickedly as Enzo lowered his glass, clearly already regretting his words. He looked at him warningly but he had already swiped the bowl from the table and crossed the room in a matter of a second.
He took a moment, his hand poised. Then he flung the door open and left his full vampire face on display. Instead of the expected screams, the two little girls shouted with pure joy. His face dropped as Lizzie and Josie clapped in excitement.
"Really, Damon?" Caroline asked, an eyebrow raised disapprovingly.
Bonnie smiled. "Nice face. Not the most realistic vampire I've seen tonight, though, I've gotta say."
He smiled mockingly back at her. He tossed a miniture chocolate bar into each of the twin's baskets, then he stepped aside to let them in. Bonnie swiped the bowl from his hands on the way past, her face lighting up.
"See, this is why I said we shouldn't answer the door on Halloween," he said loudly and closed the door. "We've been invaded by witches."
"Uh, hello?" Caroline said pointedly.
"Fine, it's three against three," Damon said, walking past her and reclaiming his seat beside Enzo, who was busy complimenting the twins on their very realistic witch costumes. "I'm still not happy about it."
It was Bonnie's turn to roll her eyes at him as she planted herself on the other couch, setting the bowl of candy in her lap. "Come on, I thought you'd get a kick out of Halloween."
"I do, in fact," Damon said. "I love Halloween. I love scaring people to death and drinking from open veins without anyone batting an eye. What I don't enjoy is being stuck in the house all night on the one day of the year when I could be doing any number of things instead."
"Well, most of the trick of treaters are going home now," Bonnie said with a shrug. "So, if you wanted, you could come out with us. We're going to get these two home and in bed, then we were gonna go to the Grill."
Caroline flashed a genuinely excited grin as she said, "They have themed cocktails."
Damon glanced at Enzo, who shrugged as if to say, I don't see why not.
"But one rule," Caroline said, and she pointed right at Damon, "you are not allowed to feed on anyone. At least not anyone in the Grill. It's Matt's rule, and I promised him that none of his employees would be running around with bandages on their necks or wrists."
"I guess dressing up as a mummy was off limits, then," Enzo said in amusement, knocking back the rest of his glass.
"Funny," Caroline said dryly, her eyes narrowing.
Damon helds his hands up. "Fine, we promise. Anything is better than hearing one more knock on that door. I might actually kill someone."
Bonnie threw a bonbon at him in warning. He popped it into his mouth and winked, but when prompted by Caroline, both he and Enzo promised that they wouldn't harm anyone at the Grill.
"Although, technically," Damon said as they were about to leave, shrugging on his leather jacket, "it's not harming them if they're not compelled and they want it, right? Halloween brings out all kinds of freaks, you know. A lot of people love vampires."
Caroline scoffed in disgust and ushered Lizzie outside to join Bonnie, who already had Josie in her arms and was using magic to move the detachable spider on her wrist, making her laugh as it crawled up onto her shoulder.
He raised his eyebrows at Enzo, who returned the gesture, a particular hunger flickering in his eyes. Damon grinned and followed him out. Tonight could be fun after all.
The Best
Female witch reader x Hope Mikaelson
Summary: Hope loves it when you get your nails done.
Warnings: none
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey, where have you been all afternoon?" Josie asks from the couch when you walk into the common room of the school.
Before you could answer your the brunette, Lizzie pipes up. "Definitely not in class, I can vouch for that." She glares up at you from where she's sat in an armchair across from Josie.
"What? You fell asleep in class again and got caught without me there to wake you up before the teacher notices?" You infer. "Yeah, and now I have an extra assignment to do, plus an indent of a pencil on my cheek" Lizzie points up to her cheek where there's an oddly straight red line mark of a pencil.
"Liz, hun, I told you last week I wasn't going to be there and to prepare for that." You say smiling lightly, also making Josie chuckle at her sister's frozen face.
"What, no you di- Ohhh, never mind" Lizzie quickly says, remembering the very in depth conversation you guys had about it last week, you trying to make sure she had enough sleep. And wait a moment, "You've been mothering me" She exclaims and sits up straight in the armchair.
"It's taken you this long to notice?" Josie tries to stifle her laughter. "You know what, you get to deal with this." You tell her, smirking at her immediate drop of a smile.
"You are a cruel, cruel woman" Josie groans, turning back to a still shocked Lizzie.
"Huh? Never knew" You shrug playfully, walking away in the direction of your dorm.
As you make your way down the hallway, almost at your door, you get tackled into a big hug. You look at who it is and sigh, a smile growing on your face. You immediately embrace your girlfriend in your arms back.
"Hey, Baby Girl, you miss me?" You chuckle. "Mhm" Hope nods into your neck, inhaling your perfume as if you've been gone for weeks and not just a couple hours.
"Why don't we go back to my room before people start staring. Well, more than they already are" You kiss the top of her head. "Hmm, okay" She relents and pulls away from the hug slowly.
Hope grasps your hand in hers as you lead her to your room. Once you get to the door, you unlock it with a wave of your hand before stepping inside with your girlfriend. The door closes with the opposite spell you just used before to open the door.
"What were you doing, I haven't seen you all day" She sits on your bed and pull her legs up into criss cross applesauce.
"Uh, went shopping and then got my nails done." You answer her. "Oh, right it's your 'get the hell away from Alaric' day." She remembers, chuckling. Then, she pauses from drumming her fingers against her thighs.
"Wait, you got your nails done?" Her face lit up like a golden retriever puppy.
"Why? You want to see them?" You say with a teasing voice. "Yes, of course I do!" She exclaims, almost offended by the interpretation of her not wanting to see them.
"Okay," You smirked and sat next to her on your bed. You rest your hands out in front of her and she cups them into her own hands. "Ooh, pretty" Hope gazes at the freshly done nails. You chuckle as she admires your nails.
She then snaps her head up, looking to you. "Can you? Please?" She asks excitedly. "Hmmm. Of course, Baby Girl" You agree, knowing exactly what she's asking for.
She lets out an excited sound before letting you back up against the headboard. And then lays her head in your lap, snuggling close to you.
You brush the hair that's fallen into her eyes behind her ear. Trailing your hand to the crown of her hair, you start lightly massaging her scalp with your nails.
Hope lets out a sigh of content as you scratch her head and play with her hair. She closes her eyes as she lets out all the worries from the school, enjoying this small moment with you.
"This is the best" She mumbles into your thigh. You lean down and kiss her head before continuing your movements.
