hey so, some time ago I found a piece of Samus art showing her reacting with despair to a 23andMe letter showing that she's got British heritage, and the art style heavily resembles yours, but I can't find it in your Samus or Metroid tags on your blog, and there's no signature on the art, anyway does that at all sound familiar to you?

I would love insight into how you animate so smoothly in gmod

hi!! so i use the ragdoll mover and the stop motion helper add-ons :D

you use the timeline seen on the bottom of the screenshot to create your key frames and everything else in between ☝️ now i am no pro animator and what little i know ive picked up from various tutorial videos over the years....

stop motion helper has a great video tutorial for the very basics of how to use it! as for the process of animation itself well ummm i can really only link the 12 principles of animation, as i've mentioned that im no expert on the topic.

here's a video i made for the occasion--and i hope you don't mind, but i borrowed bolts for this demonstration ^_^ (i recognize the irony of using a robot to demonstrate fluid movements, but if other animators can use mannequins...)

had to put the video (unlisted ofc) on yt cause it got longer than i expected it to >_>

i still just... *clenches fist* CANNOT GET OVER how good of friends mike and chuck are like it makes me weep sometimes just remembering it you guys 😭

they're always there to support each other, and always have each other's backs... but most importantly-- they got each other even when they're slipping

chuck was the 1st character ever to question mike's leadership and battle plans in the very 2nd ep. wellll unless you don't count dutch's disapproval of mike's plan in ep 1, but that was more pushback than an actual fullblown argument

mike was acting rashly, not thinking out his plan to use the core's power to defeat kane's hounds, and chuck rightfully bickered with him abt it for like 2 precious minutes while their base was being surrounded

and he succeeded! mike did take the power core, but he didn't end up detonating it in the end even tho he wanted to! bc chuck's words affected him, saving motorcity-- and possibly the entirety of michigan as well

and on the flip side, chuck's insecurities get the best of him most times. this was especially devastating to mike in "fearless", and it all culminated in this big final fight they had where chuck almost killed mike

but they ended up reconciling, bc mike KNEW what was eating away at chuck and confronted him abt it. his words to chuck were "being brave isn't abt not being scared, it's abt waking up everyday and doing what you do anyways despite it"

which is very true! chuck was sick and tired of being the butt of the jokes, the scaredy-cat, the coward. but mike cut thru all that bullshit and in one fell swoop, chuck was removing his booster and he was comfortable facing the kane grunts to deactivate the KMG before it killed all of the cablers.

mike recognized chuck's insecurity and got thru to him with the cold hard truth-- chuck was already brave, even if he was screaming thru the majority of their missions lol

one day i hope to be in a friendship like chuck and mike's, but until then i'm just sitting here admiring them like a goober :')

Saw someone post about a 2000s au of Luca, and I absolutely LOVE the idea. Decided to do my take on it in terms of what I would imagine Luca, Alberto, and Giulia would wear. I was also inspired by 90s fashion.

For Luca, he would definitely be the kid who gets dressed by their mom lol. He would just usually wear what his mom gave to him. So, I imagine him in button up shirts and slacks. So I put him in that with some converse. He basically has the "clean/good kid" look. Every now and then though, he would put on his favorite Star Wars tee shirt (Luca would definitely LOVE Star Wars).

For Alberto, I thought the street wear/baggy look really fits him. I drew him with a soccer jersey (which is based off Italys soccer uniform in the 90s) with some baggy pants, and chunky sneakers. I also remember seeing that one of Albertos' first character designs had a jersey with the number 8 on it. The other design is actually something I think he would wear on a day to day basis. It just screams Alberto for some reason. I drew him in a giant oversized t-shirt, baggy cargo shorts, with some flip flops. While, he's chugging a small jug of Sunny-D (i dont think they have Sunny-D in Italy). It definitely shows his more nonchalant side of his character lol.

And last, Giulia. I definitely do see her in the artsy/ "tomboy" fashion of the 2000s. I think it does a good job at showing the more "boss" and enthusiastic side of her character. I gave her a striped blazer, layered blouses, very long cargo shorts, converse, and, of course, a hat. Her other design is definitely more laid back and is just more comfortable/casual, which I think also fits her character. Just a sweater, wide jeans, and chunky sneakers. I also incorporated the stripes, similar to her original shirt.
