Sometimes I often think about Nagi Usui and how she’s one of the best characters to have come out in the past few years.
-One of her main motivations to get back into the real world is so she can play more of her mobile gacha game.
-She gains an instant crush on someone just because he resembles one of the main characters from said mobile gacha game.
-She’s the only one of her team to actually like the Grilled Alligator meal from SBY BBQ.
-The kanji on her shirt changes for every situation she finds herself in whether it’s for fights or eating.
-Some of her other kanji shirts reference The Art of War, kendo, Buddhist proverbs, JRPG terminology, and chuuni terms, among other things.
-One of sayings on her shirt translates to "Now I'm motivated" when in battle which means that yes, Nagi is a DMC Vergil fan.
-In the Field Walk RPG, Rindo wonders about how the letters of her shirt keep changing and Nagi tells him that she changes her shirts in between fights and food. He then wonders about how he never notices and Nagi tells him that she’s mastered the art of changing them in a millisecond before saying that she’s just joking.
-Is the only one out of the team with a dedicated maid outfit.
-Brags about being a one time Quiz Academy Queen Quizster after going head-to-head with a DRS member over the title and winning over him in the manga category.
-Accidentally intimidates other EleStra fans from approaching her through sheer aura.
-Her English VA based her performance off of Peridot from Steven Universe and Entrapta from She-Ra.
-Said VA also confirmed that Nagi would most definitely be a Sonic fan, with her being a fan of Shadow the Hedgehog in particular.
-Surprisingly, she has the most connections on the Social Network outside of Rindo due to her natural ability to understand people
-Gets into a pissing contest in Another Day with a ojou-sama, metalhead fan over who’s the bigger Takeharu Ishimoto fan
-Owns and is raising at least 10 snakes in Another Day
-Only knows how to cook sunny-side up fried eggs from the box, with the yolks described as 'frozen' and the eggs described as unpleasantly chewy.
-Is insanely competitive at fighting games
-She considers video game arcades to be the perfect date location.
-All of her "gurgly sounds" combined make for more than two minutes straight of audio.
-In Japanese, her personal pronoun is a neetspeak version of a pronoun usually used by sagely old male characters.
-In general, she uses a lot of netslang, including the Japanese equivalent of "kek" basically.
-She's too anxious to use a phone and to work a job that requires her to interact with people regularly such as retail.
-She’s the most bloodthirsty of the Wicked Twisters when it comes to fighting Noise and even lets out an evil laugh when unleashing a Grenade Launcher pin
-She really likes jigsaw puzzles and finds them calming; more specifically, the "1000-piece" type of jigsaw puzzles.
-Even with her eccentricities, she’s one of the most emotionally intelligent and empathetic characters in the series, and is never once treated as off-putting for her interests and actually uses the life lessons she took from EleStra to help out others in need.
-Is more than capable of killing a man with her psychic mind powers.

Blue Lock AnimeNYC 23' Panel Highlights (Friday)
I only went to the Friday panel and not the Sunday one so my highlights will reflect accordingly lol. In attendance for the panel was Isagi's Japanese VA (Ura Kazuki) and anime series producer (Arisawa Ryoya). We technically weren't allowed to take any photos or video recordings when the panel started, but I managed to get one shot towards the beginning with Ura and Arisawa, and then at the end with the Blue Lock: Episode Nagi screenshot lol.
Based on a previous fan survey on which S1 episode was the favorite, they aired a screening of episode 17, "Hetakuso/Donkey" first, and then went into the Q&A portion.
Since it was Ura's first time in New York City, when asked about what he wanted to eat the most, he claimed it was steak since that's what his other VA senpais told him to eat. He also remarked on the huge size of New York City bagels compared to Japan, and joked that he was "still full from his bagel breakfast."
When Ura was asked about episode 17, he said he practiced the "hetakuso" line delivery many times so he was glad to see it finally pay off. He also did the delivery line live for the audience lol.
When asked about what he likes about Blue Lock S1, Ura noted he enjoys the unpredictability of the series (like in episode 17) where for the characters, you "never know who's going to win. Just when you think winning is impossible, you can win at the last second." Arisawa also noted that he liked how Blue Lock is a show where it focuses on "not being positive, just for the sake of being positive, but the characters learning from their failures, so they can grow."
When asked about any fun VA recording stories, Ura said that closer to the last episode, there was a scene with Rin (Uchiyama Koki) where he felt so "focused on beating Rin that he accidentally read Rin's line by mistake." No one apparently noticed at the time and only after Ura finished recording, so the VA staff told him "that was very egoist of you" lolol.
When Ura was asked about getting the role of Isagi and how it's differed from his other VA roles, he remarked because this was a character that "required the skills I didn't have personally at the time," every week before recording, Ura felt like "I had to go beyond my voice acting skills and learn to catch up, otherwise Isagi would leave me behind." Ura also credited his senior VAs in the series, and felt like he learned a lot from them when recording, and described the process as "very hard, but fun."
When Ura was asked about if there were any difficult scenes to voice act, Ura said it was the 'hetakuso/donkey' line delivery since "it involved a new side of Isagi that you hadn't seen before." So, he and the VA directors debated how much coldness he wanted to inflect in his voice in showing off this new side of Isagi. The VA director also told Ura in terms of general direction for this scene, he said to go for the 'soccer anime demon lord' approach where he told Ura to pretend that Isagi was a demon lord and deliver the 'hetakuso/donkey' line accordingly in that fashion lol.
Arisawa also noted that this was the first time he's personally worked on a manga-to-anime series adaptation since he'd only worked on original anime series like Princess Principal before this, so he personally called up Kodansha for the adaptation rights since he wanted to work on a 'world hit series' and after reading the manga, felt like Blue Lock had the potential for this.
There were video messages from Ash Da Hero (who sung the second OP, 'Judgement') along with Nakamura Shugo (Gagamaru Gin's VA) who sung the first ED, 'Winner' where Nakamura lamented not being there with Ura. So, after the video message, Ura joked that "he'd bring Shugo along in his suitcase next year."
The panel ended with a never-before-seen photo still of Isagi from the upcoming Blue Lock: Episode Nagi film (set to release on April 19th, 2024) where Arisawa remarked that "Isagi looks like the last boss for Nagi."
#blue lock#animenyc#animenyc 23'#anime nyc#ura kazuki#arisawa ryoya#can't believe i've fallen back into the soccer anime hole again after going to this panel rofl#love when a dormant hyperfixation reactivates#also ura is A CUTIEEE!!!#you could tell how excited he was there to be there since it was his first time in NYC :')))

LMAOOOO my b my b no isagism here!! I saw your other posts and I was also confused on why the little Easter egg cameo scene had everyone except Karasu basically LMAO like where is he….maybe they figure the audience can’t handle his beauty so they gotta wait for s2….
FR!! I think that was one of my main bird gateway moments the ost also slapped lowk….
SO REAL slow cooked aged fine dining dishes not lunchables LOL the rise of Karasu nation truly is upon us
That reasoning is so prevalent in the manhwa scene like as long as they look pretty the plot could literally be all over the place LOL and yes the closeted sweetheart trope >>>>>>
OOOOH I’ve personally only ever heard it when I saw people posting Isagis dub scene when he outsmarts Rin in the 4v4 LOL wait I know exactly what you mean for Karasu….i remember specifically looking him up too…something about his voiced felt too strained/almost grainy to me? Like it feels like a voice that might be given to a relatively lanky, disheveled villain of a show like I’m imagining dry crusty villain here it’s not deep enough and almost has some like high strung texture to it (this was such a bad explanation and I’m also going based off memory so excuse me if I’m remembering wrong as we know remembering is not my strong suit LMAO)
Ok but wait….not a new fav…Nagi…?? My other guess was gonna be Reo based off your earlier post but I can’t tell if when you said “haven’t written in awhile” you meant like a specific work for the character (which rules out Reo I think unless I read your masterlist wrong) or in general (which works with Reo via peregrine cameo) but I’m curious to see what it actually is LOL Safely avoided isagism I see LOLL
- Karasu anon
NO BECAUSE ATP IT’S TARGETED??? like wdym we only get a blurry shot of his chin in the season 2 opening…what do you mean he’s consistently not shown in the background w the rest of the characters…i’m convinced it’s smth to do with his hair like 100% they just can’t figure out how to do it or smth because why else do otoya and yukimiya get sm focus but not him???
the rio ost is so good and the animation too!! ugh maybe i need to rewatch and get some more bird inspo KFNDKSS
manhwa community is insane truly the things people will read because of an art style sometimes is like 😓😰 come on now are we not better than this 😭 i feel like i typically only start manhwas if i like the art style but that won’t be the reason i KEEP reading ykwim like it still has to hook me and all the art style is just a prerequisite!!
SWEETHEART ASSHOLE FOR LIFE!! i just think it’s so funny to see this guy who’s lowkey a major jerk become all fumbling and emotional in front of a girl he likes…plus making characters like that be secretly in love with a girl for YEARS is so appealing to me like it’s just so them 😭 smth abt the sweetheart asshole type fits so well with major league pining idek why
NO I COMPLETELY AGREE it just sounds odd?? according to one of my friends he has the same dub voice as BAKUGO from mha which not that i rlly know much abt mha but from what i’ve heard bakugo and karasu do not have much in common 😭 and just going off of looks they do NOT feel like they should have the same voice LMAOAOAA but apparently he’s also connie from aot and i did like his voice there (even though it’s too high for karasu but at least it doesn’t have that weird gravelly quality??) so maybe he’ll surprise us…anyways karasu’s japanese va is rlly rlly good though maybe i’m just cursed to only like characters w weird dub voices (although i will say dub nagi is cracking me up he is 10x more unserious and sassy and a lovable asshole in the english version…his arguments w barou are actually funnier in dub somehow??)
YES IT IS NAGI BROOOO I MISSED HIM SM 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 to be fair it might also be recency bias because he’s such a huge part of s1 and most of the other characters i like aka tabieitaken don’t show up until the manga but like…nagi 🥹 LMAOAAO i think part of it is the dub opening my eyes to the fact that he is also in fact lowkey a lovable jerk just in a less obvious way than karasu and barou 😩 the way he would literally be undefeated in s1 if he stopped shit talking his opponents during games is SO FUNNY like he directly leads to isagi developing his direct shot in team v vs team z, chigiri developing his no-stop dribbling in nagi barou isagi vs chigiri reo kunigami, and bachira’s awakening in the 4v4 ALL BECAUSE HE CAN’T KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT 😰 like bro genuinely cannot lock in and stop trash talking even though it’s the difference between winning and losing half of the time 😔 also i do love reo but he’s like so emo in season 1 that i can’t be attracted to him until season 2 i fear (although him in team v vs team z >>>)
I ALMOST FELL TO ISAGISM it was rough at first but lowkey seeing how short he is next to nagi and barou made me be like oh nvm…like yes he is still several inches taller than ME but he looks like a pocket sized child next to those two 😭 also while he has some good shots in the show he also has some crunchy ones icl meanwhile nagi is definitely the animator’s favorite because they yassified him SO HARD in the anime (he’s still cute in the manga but in the early chapters he looks so silly tbh)…wish they would’ve given barou that treatment fr i feel like they make him look goofy almost up until the 4v4 😩💔

New Post Series Coming Soon: 5 Fun Facts and 5 Headcanons
I hope 2022 has treated you all well so far. I've had this idea for a post series for a couple months now, and wanted to wait until the new year started before I started the series.
This was inspired by a TikTok series by user alli_bugg that she does on her page where she mentions 5 fun facts about various anime characters on their canon birthdays. I figured, why not do that on my blog?
I'm also adding my own little twist to this series by also adding 5 small general headcanons I have for each character. I know most people here just write an imagine as a sort of "special" for character birthdays, but because my life offline is too hectic and energy-draining for that, I figured this would be easier to keep on top of while still celebrating with the rest of the fan base.
--------
More Info about this series
-----
What can some of these fun facts include?
I'm going to try my best to include things that can be found in material other than the anime (the games, manga, etc), but my main source I'll be using is the Fandom wiki page. Some things I might include are:
- star signs
- likes and dislikes
- Canon information (Warning: might contain spoilers, especially for later seasons)
- info about their VAs and their roles outside of Utapri (important note: because Utapri does not have an official English dub at the time of writing and is likely one of those anime that will probably never get an English dub, assume any and all information regarding VAs is for the Japanese versions of any other anime mentioned)
- original concept ideas/stuff deleted from final product we all know and love (this one will probably be lacking, ngl)
What can headcanons include?
I have already posted a few headcanons on here, but I'm going to try not to repeat any of the ones I've already posted. They'll be more focused on the characters themselves rather than in given scenarios. These can include, but are not limited to:
- fluff (what I write best lmao)
- angst (I'll try not to post too much of this, we're celebrating birthdays here, after all)
- possibly canon-inspired
- smut/semi-smut (some characters, definitely not all in this little series)
When can we expect these posts?
My time zone is about 12 hours behind Japan's time zone, so I plan on posting each of these between the hours of noon and midnight EST the day before the birthday of the character in question, so that would make it available sometime between the hours of midnight and noon in Japanese time.
When's (insert best boy/girl here)'s going to be posted?
Here's the order of when I'll post these. There are 23 total characters that will be in this series, 20 of which I regularly write for and 3 I don't usually write for. You can also find the links to their posts here in case you miss any!
January
- 7th: Nagi
- 23rd: Camus
February
- 14th: Ren
March
- 1st: Ai
- 3rd: Haruka
April
- 30th: Yamato
- 11th: Otoya
May
- 5th: Kira
- 15th: Ryuuya (Note: This one might be posted a little bit earlier, maybe by a day or two, because I actually have the same birthday as him lol)
June
- 9th: Natsuki and Syo (they will each have their own post, and I'll try to space it out so they're not posted at the same time)
July
- 7th: Tomochika
- 13th: Reiji
August
- 6th: Tokiya
September
- 1st: Eiichi
- 15th: Ringo
- 29th: Ranmaru
October
- 20th: Eiji
- 31st: Cecil
November
- 4th: Shion
- 22nd: Shining (I'm probably going to regret including him in this list lmfao)
December
- 12th: Van
- 29th: Masato
-------
I can't wait to start this new series for you all and I hope this will make up for a lack of any kind of imagines as I try to get back into the swing of things.
Up first, our favorite cosmically-cute idol!

okay i have Feelings about NEO: TWEWY and nobody to shout them at because literally nobody else I know plays it which is truly a crime; the original twewy remains one of my favourite games to this day. but anyway. massive NEO TWEWY spoilers inbound:
First of all it truly is a miracle that this game even exists. I never once actually believed we’d get a sequel. Let alone one this good!! It is really, really good!!!
Things I Enjoyed:
- The gameplay. Whoo boy. Up to about 4 team members, anyway. It’s fast paced, button mashing satisfaction, that manages to keep elements from the original game while still being fresh and fun, if not entirely chaotic, which is why after 4 characters, it was a bit like, ‘okay, chill, let us switch out or something’ lmao
- The new characters. Although I feel like we leave the game not knowing as much about them as I would like, the new team are really great, and Nagi in particular really shone in terms of character grown. Rindo.. I feel like I know as little about him now as I did at the start :|a Maybe I just missed something.
I honestly found the teams and their leaders kinda forgettable >>;; Although the heel-face turn on Motoi was pretty great. I needed more from Kanon to feel anything when she, yknow.
The new reapers were... a mixed bunch. Shoka was fantastic, Susukichi was... a bit much in English, great in Japanese, Tsugumi was great but didn’t get enough screen time (unless she gets more post game, I dunno yet) Shiba annoyed the fuck outta me, Kaie was alright.. the others... meh. They don’t hold up to Kariya and Uzuki. And obviously Kubo sucks ass pfft
- The reappearing characters. of course i loved them. i got a hit of serotonin every time one appeared on my screen. neku my son. josh the reapers. i was never a huge minamimoto stan lmao but he was fun. even curry don. but some were DIRELY underutilised which i WILL COME BACK TO
- THE MUSIC. twewy cannot fail on its music, it’s amazing, it’s glorious, it’s multi faceted, it goes hard. and adding in Beat’s psyche, a rhythm mini game acting as the fast walk button???? yes. yes yes yes yes. yessssssss.
- The graphics. Mostly. Everything looked beautiful, and HD, and the character designs were great - not toooooooooo Nomura but Nomura enough, yknow? And the occasional chibi faces were great lol. The chaotic battles sometimes caused lag which... I mean, they coulda given us the option to turn off some of the animations or damage graphics lmao but hey. the forced perspective on shibuya was a bit off occasionally but it was how the original game did it and it’s all for the ~aesthetic~ so hey. And it was great seeing some of the original locations looking so much more fleshed out
- The Localisation. Personally, I think the translators struck a perfect balance that made the kids seem like they’d fit right into today’s culture. It wasn’t forced, it wasn’t ‘look at us we are Teenagers’, it was right on the mark. And it was really, really interesting hearing just how different the Japanese VA lines were compared to the English translations. They really went all out and it paid off, imo.
Dislikes: (i haven’t read the secret reports yet tho)
- UNDERUTILISATION OF THE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS - now, look, okay, I’m biased. I admit it. I’m a Josh and Neku stan lmao, so I was looking forward to seeing them the whole game. And as it went on and on and I realised I wouldn’t be until much later, it bummed me out. The bait n’ switch with Beat was funny at first, and I enjoyed it a lot, until I realised that yeah, that’s what they’re going with. Beat’s probably my least favourite partner from the original (sorry) but even disregarding that, it annoys me that they gave him like 10,000x more screen time than even Neku.
Not to mention Shiki and Joshua! Josh in particular I could write a whole essay on how pissed I am. The lost potential. Nobody mentioning him, ever, once. Until he just sorta shows up and says a few things. It makes NO SENSE, he’s the fucking composer, Neku and Beat worked with him, why aren’t they questioning his whereabouts when Shibuya’s turning to shit??????’ I just?????? I had low hopes for Josh content tbf but I am still disappointed :( And naught but one singular Hanekoma mention, as well. Sigh.
Shiki, it’s a shame she doesn’t appear more, she certainly could have - I can think of like 5 ways off the top of my head - having her as a partner would have also been extremely good.
Neku at least we got..... half a week with. and as a PC. And like, I know it’s not supposed to be about them, but throw us a bit more than cheap fanservice, yknow. And Kariya and Uzuki were great too.
- why, oh why, was every single team lackey male???? they couldn’t be arsed to make female designs????? it baffled me.
- SO. MUCH. SHIBUYA. TRAVERSING. I don’t remember if it was that bad in the original?! But oh my god lol. I think a lot of it was padding. Sure felt like it. Paired with the slightly hand hold-y mission progression cutscenes, they coulda cut a bunch of those out.
Other Stuff:
- The voice acting - fantastic in Japanese, okay in English, except for the returning characters?? didn’t sound great??? in english??? I was hyped to turn English back on for Beat but.... nah. Nahhh. Nagi’s English VA was absolutely the best imo.
- They nailed the feel of the old game without totally copying it - the food, clothes, general aesthetic, music. That said, it still felt a little too tied to the original. Ironic considering the rant above I know lmao but... yeah. The player psyches were a nice touch but I feel like it needed something to set it apart a lil more from its predecessor.
- I didn’t realise A New Day existed until literally today and I wish I had seen it before I played Neo. Now I know who Coco is lmao. And Shinjuku’s erasure was part of that too! arghhhh. Nomura stop burying plot points in other things. I’m a DS OG dont do this to me
- Rindo’s time travel power was cool but jumping back to the same point like 3 or 4 times in some cases got old
- You could really feel the KH3 energy of ‘play 30 hours until something or someone pivotal finally appears’ lol. Nomuraaaaa.
... anyway.
TL;DR good game, needed more Josh, also needs more fans please

Since I can’t find any post talking about the new trio’s Japanese voice actors yet, I’d like to talk a bit about it… Also added MAL links to each VAs’ pages so you can check their other roles in other anime/games!
(Please correct me if I’m wrong / feel free to write additional infos!)
Rindo, his japanese VA is Uchida Yuuma
He is the younger brother of a female seiyuu, Uchida Maaya . Also a popular Japanese VA, so I bet you will know some of his other roles.
Fret, his VA is Sawashiro Chiharu
What’s interesting, he is also a younger brother of another female seiyuu, Miyuki Sawashiro.
Nagi, her VA is Katahira Mina
She seems relatively new compared to the other two’s voice actors, with only 2 roles registered in her MAL page. It seems she provided additional voices for KH III.
#neo the world ends with you#neo twewy#ntwewy#twewy2#uchida yuuma#chiharu sawashiro#katahira mina#my friend asked me to post this on my blog#since her blog is private idk#the world ends with you#twewy

HypMic 7
I will never not laugh at the content advisory, haha.
I like Kazuha already. Too bad he’s probably evil…
Oh, is it the day of the DRB in the series already…? Or maybe, because it’s the qualifiers, BB and MTC’s match is on a different day to FP and MTR’s.
Oh? Does Tom know Jakurai well enough to call him “Jakurai-sensei”? (<- middle ground between “Jinguji-sensei/Sensei” and “Jakurai”) Also, Tom uses “ore”.
Ooh, Iris is a motorbike rider, eh? Interesting. I thought they (<- not sure if Iris is a “she” or “he” with a really weird name) were more of a Saburo-type and didn’t bother with things like that, based on their appearance. Update: Someone on Yahoo Answers said based on Iris’s watashi, she is a woman.
Typo fixed! Good job, anime staff! Update: I’m referring to “…darkest hour is just before the down” (sic).
…bukkorosu = “f***in’ slaughter ‘em”. It’s not wrong…it’s just the subbers really like to abuse the F word for MTC. But you knew that already if you got this far…right?
LOL, Ramuda wants to “scratch [Rex’s] back” (figuratively) to…get SNS views? Hahaha.
This Studio Alita is probably a reference to Shinjuku Alta.
Yotsutsuji!!! That was the one big spoiler I got before watching the episode today and I’m so happy I got to see him animated!
(One of) Irihatoma and Degarashi refer to Jakurai as “Jakurai-sensei” as well. Hmm, I never noticed. Update: That’s Degarashi, because Irihatoma speaks to Jakurai alone later this ep.
There’s 50% chance I’m getting this wrong, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say Kazuha is voiced by a veteran VA…one I already know about.
Doppo calls Kazuha by his first name…That upgrade means their relationship escalated quickly (or this is a quirk of HypMic in general, since I noticed most characters are on first name basis with each other). Also, it’s cute Doppo finally has someone in his corner. No other part of the franchise has one, to my memory. Update: It might actually be “Kazuha-kun”…but I’m still surprised though. Update 2: It’s both, actually.
I’ve listened to the phrase “some random guy” several times from Hifumi’s mouth and all I can figure out is the “yatsu” at the end. (Doesn’t help my ears blocked themselves up again, although it’s less than it used to be.)
Harumi Wharf.
R? On a helicopter landing pad?
…uh oh. I was right when I thought Kazuha was going to be evil. Also, Doppler shift/effect. Update: “Doppler” is clearly a pun on “Doppo”.
Hmm? “Hey, Doppo” from “yaa”…it doesn’t have a name referred in there. It’s a small but odd thing to do. (I remember a professional translator was complaining that people with intermediate Japanese were giving them flak for translating things “wrong”, but what I do here is analysis for my future and edificiation. I’m not here to knock down pro translators’ doors and demand a refund, because I’m trying to go pro to atone for my sins as a scanlator.)
The soundtrack’s slightly sinister tone, plus the fact I figured the culprit well before Doppo did, makes me slightly scared…for MTR.
I realised they skimped on the budget…this “hot off the car chase” line seems more like an MTC line, doesn’t it…?...Yeah, it’s almost word for word for MTC in DRB+. Maybe the subbers rushed and used this translation (this link I put here) rather than their actual lyrics…? I will have to get to the bottom of this. Update: Turns out the translation is slightly different, but…yes, there is reference to a car chase in the start of Shinjuku Style. (Sorry, I don’t know every lyrics of every song off the top of my head.)
…wow, this got really Doppo-centric. I’ve never seen the leader relinquish their position when it comes to “leading into battle” before. It just goes to show the staff really do pay attention to how popular Doppo is.
Note “Doppo” means “walk alone”, roughly speaking, hence the “solitary” line.
This song is very, very faithful to its original lyrics, because I was trying to look at Hifumi’s “mixing paint” line and it pretty much matches.
Hifumi’s “my men”, LOL.
Kazuha = “one leaf”, hence the “leaves” in one of Jakurai’s lines.
I cringe every time I hear screaming coming from this episode, y’know…?
…oh dear. MTC’s plot actually bled into MTR’s.
I already knew from browsing Twitter earlier today that Kizuna was going to become FP’s today, but hearing it is another matter entirely.
Kosuke Miyoshi is Kazuha. Apparently, this guy also voiced Mashirao Ojiro (the tail guy) from BnHA, but that’s his only major role…so I was right in that I knew him, but wrong in that he was, again, a relative rookie in comparison to most.
Apparently FP’s sign is a peace sign sideways to represent an F, but…it’s just a sideways peace sign to me…
…how is Dice’s bead ornament attached to him? Is it on his hair, on his ear, on the skin behind his ear…? I was trying to replicate his outfit and got stuck on how to represent it, so I ended up opting for trying (and failing) to do a small braid on the right side.
IWGP shows up this season…it’s the song with the “hoo!” noise BB perform in this episode.
LOL, “Dead men tell no tales” is a perfect saying for MTC.
Akudama 6
Is there a movie called “Brother”…? There’s apparently one that’s the plural of that, but not that itself.
If HypMic likes the F bomb, then Akudama like the S word.
I-Is it just me or is the choreography sped up at some points in this episode…? It’s a bit disorienting to come back to.
I thought the kid was a robot…but close enough.
Oh no! Why does the teacher always have to die for the student to become stronger???
Kairaku/shugi -> pleasure/doctrine (if I didn’t somehow misunderstand the shark’s kanji combo),
The part after the ED looks a little too long…keep watching.
The Japanese says “Lost Children”, but the English says “The City of Lost Children”, probably referring to this French sci-fi film.
I7 s2 6
I like how Gaku is taking special offence to Yamato’s comments about him being a playboy.
Re:vale-san. I never noticed until now.
“I’m already looking forward to it.” That’s how I would translate Tsumugi’s “I’m already excited”.
“…who could possibly complain?” – I think Mitsuki might.
The pun in the MEZZO show is that tai (group/squad) sounds the same as tai (want to ~). Rabbinsta is obviously Instagram + Rabbit (Chat?).
Oh my gosh! It’s the Yotsuba sister!
Mitsuki’s shopping trip OST is nice, man. This piano.
This episode has a really great sense of danger and foreboding for the future.
I7 s2 7
Perfection Gimmick. Never heard it in the anime before.
Even the ramen house’s name is a play on “Idolish7”.
LOL, Yamato sure turned that comment around.
The sign talking about beer says something about coupons below it. (It went by too fast and my CR app’s kinda fiddly, so I can’t really go back…)
Kimi to Ai na Night (pun on Idolish7, aka “AiNana”, again).
Mitsuki, no one hates you! You’re just imagining it all!
I7 s2 8
Momo hugely resembles Sasara, right down to the highlights on the hair…
“…you’re so handsome…” – I’m dying on the inside here, people! *laps up the BL pandering with a derpy smile on my face*
Banri and Tsumugi haven’t been focussed on lately…they’re clearly doing something regarding Banri’s ties with Re:vale, but I can’t quite figure out what that “something” is.
Why is there a basketball and a football in the back of the Takanashi office…?
Please don’t run in heels, Tsumugi…
“I love Idolish7!” - Ah, despite my quibbles, Tsumugi is good after all.
“making one’s best exertions” – Why do those words on the cup worry me a bit…?
Isn’t “I’m watching you” a creepy statement…?
Apparently Tamaki’s symbol is mp (mezzo pianissimo), hence Sougo’s words.
…my gosh! Aya’s foster father is Kujou?!
I7 s2 9
If I heard it right, Tenn’s line was “I can be your idol”, not “your prince”.
“Older Izumi” - …ah, poor Mitsuki.
“Damn you, sexy beast…” – LOL!
…aw, I think this is the first time my heart has been lightened by Tsunashi’s laugh. He’s a good boy.
The chibis…I’m still trying to get used to them…
As a song once said, “You can’t please everyone so you just gotta please yourself.” (Blah blah blah, something about garden parties…)
Takao what now???...okay, Takao Dayuu.
…You’re lucky that wasn’t Tenn doing Takao Dayuu. It would’ve been very “Gentaro does his courtesan voice” if it was.
Nagi doesn’t overpronounce things as much in this season. It’s…pleasant, actually. Give me more of that.
Nagi’s “Oh my god!” was hilarious.
Taiso 5
Ra (ら) and ro (ろ) look kinda similar in hiragana.
Even without the audio, I can guess the words were “yarubeki koto” (things you should do) -> shachihoko.
The texts are written in gyaru-moji. Gyaru-moji is basically indecipherable to anyone who doesn’t know how it works – kind of like the common teen vernacular, to be honest (LOL…?) – and so the subs actually kind of ruin the confusingness of it all, but they did slightly better when they went “UR”.
Movie shiritori! But…has it really been half a year since Leo started? I feel slightly robbed about that plotline with the Men in Black right now…(then again, HypMic is just as bad about important plotlines, if not worse, so…I’m going to be patient and not complain.)
July 5th…Rei is a Cancer…?
They’re…finally moving on this Men in Black plotline! I only complained two points ago! Thank you, staff, for listening to my complaints (…?).
Moon Land finished recently, so I wonder if I’ll lose interest in this anime from here on out…? There was a Pommel Horse Prince in that.
Moon Land taught me that gymnastics has a lot of skills named after their creators, much like the Aragaki previously. The score is out of 10 for both D (difficulty) and E (execution), meaning a 20 is the best you can do, but the judges can get really picky...
The word for “vault” literally means “leaping/jumping horse”…makes sense.
Some of these names are names I’m familiar with from Moon Land already…but I never remember what the skills look like.
…welp, Leo just proved he really is a ninja after all.
Dr Stone’s s2 had its ED announced to be “Koe?” by Hatena and “Yume?” here really makes a theme…does Hatena give all their song titles question marks on the end?
Taiso 6
Colour gangs? Like in IWGP?
It’s nice to see they’re (Jotaro and Rei) communicating properly for the first time in possibly this entire anime.
On the wall, that thing is an evacuation map…of some sort.
…I’ve always wondered: if a bird eats chicken, does that count as cannibalism?
This is like thw Makkachin incident all over again (in YoI).
“…there’s no reason for you to grin and bear it.”
…Leo and Jotaro, both are so dense! Boys *shakes head*.
BB? More like ET (LOL)!
Maou-jou 5
…I didn’t even notice the cast was all dudes bar the princess at this point.
Tatakau Onnatachi. It could mean “fighting women” or “female warriors”.
I’m still vaguely pissed that Kirito is here under my nose…darn Demon King!!!
One of the harpy’s recent worries was that she wanted to become friends with the princess…That’s kinda cute…
Didn’t Syalis already get the coffin that one time? Or did it get confiscated?
*eyes sparkle* Cloud…I’d like to sleep on a cloud…*dreamy look on face* Cloud.
This is basically Princess, ‘Tis Time for Torture in reverse.
Is it “make do” or “make due”…?
I don’t think I need to explain the joke where the harpy is happy.
Gendo pose!
I wonder if the bed or the sheets will talk to her (Syalis) someday?
Maou-jou 6
The New Gearbolt’s quote is “guruguru dokkan”, which is just a bunch of sound effects. It would translate to something like whir-whir-thud”.
Underwear episodes are some of the worst episodes ever…they’re so juvenile…I dropped at least one series based on the underwear episode alone.
Ah! The seal on the ice monster’s shoulder! Too cute!
How can a mechanical princess mecha (…thing?) have worries?
LOL, never underestimate the hilarity of the teddy demons ganging up on the Demon King.
I like how the Japanese pointed out the demons only moved the princess.
HypMic 8
I thought the robberies were Kazuha’s doing…? Or is this a separate case?
Samatoki answering his phone with his feet up…LOL, there’s just something funny about it. It shows he’s just so badass, he can get away with it.
Riou’s hacking (?) skills come to the fore again. (Or is that listening to enemy intel?)
Ooh, Iris is sassy. I love her already.
…er, Samatoki? Blowing cigarette smoke into Jyuto’s face is just rude…
“…don’t hang up your gloves.” – Considering Jyuto has his red gloves…LOL.
What the heck is that backing track when the 2nd car moved out? That’s a cool track.
Ah! Iris is a Saburo-type…LOL, Saburo’s fake identity.
“a cop who’s in with the yakuza” - Wow, way to diss your own teammate, Samatoki.
For a guy who was only just in the water, Riou doesn’t even look wet.
“2 DIE 4” – Hmm? So did the anime staff know what Riou’s 2nd round song title was at the time…? Update: Judging by the name “Requiem” dropped in the next episode, I would say yes.
“…f*** the police…” - Wow, way to diss your own teammate, Samatoki. X2
Hmm? In Riou’s rap bit near the end, he goes “mad warrior” and that rhymes (in a very loose way of speaking) with “Mad Trigger”. The English didn’t keep that.
I remember seeing a spoiler which said that line (the one about slaves)…but seriously, Jyuto is such a “sexy revenge cop” (as someone once said – I think it might be Slug, or an anon to Slug) that literally nothing else seems to matter about him.
Why do they subtitle the laughing??? I still have no idea.
“Sgt. Iruma”? The guy just says “Iruma-san”. Is he a sergant or some other rank? Update: Yes. (As in, he is a sergant.)
I’ve never actually seen Ramuda sleep in a bed before, come to think of it. Does he not have a bed?
I would assume Gentaro is going…but he said he won’t be going, then negated that and then negated it again. Unless the 2nd time was him admitting it was a lie the first time…is he going or not???
“shinsetsu no human” – (Spoilers for later on/manga)…Yes, that’s actually what Ramuda says. It’s as if Ramuda subtly admits, right there, he isn’t human.
Nodo = throat…If this were translated more literally, it would sound pretty clunky.
“…rappa no inochi…paa!” – Yep, the subbers got the gist of the joke there.
Dice is basically a worm at this point…He’s squirming like one, anyway.
That “number of pips facing up” thing has got to be foreshadowing for something, y’know? Nothing in a story ever goes to waste. Also, it’s likely the dice are weighted or something…
…yep, there you go.
That voice Gentaro used for “I despise lies” was amusing…because it’s so different to his normal voice, and because Gentaro is a serial liar.
The 2nd song…which I already know is called “JACKPOT” from browsing Twitter earlier today…was a bunch of fun.
Udagawacho.
Hmm…emphasis on the candy. I wonder what that means? (<- already knows, I just want to keep it a secret from you, dear reader, if you don’t know it too)
ANIME SHOP is so clearly a pun on Animate, including the colours, that I can’t even…LOL.
FP’s Kizuna sounds distinctly different to the others…probably because of Ramuda. It’s mostly Ramuda carrying the tune there.
“Life is what you make it.” – Hmm, an interesting quote for sure.
HypMic 9
…welp, they don’t call it Fling Posse for nothin’.
I didn’t believe my ears, so I went and listened to it again. Sure enough, Ichiro calls Jakurai -san, not -sensei.
Ramuda’s normal voice! Things are getting serious~!
“Hifuming”? Is that a deliberate choice on the translators’ part? Or is it a mishearing?
…I’m laughing at how Samatoki called Ichiro a “hypocritical piece of s***”. I know the “s***” part is correct at minimum from the audio.
I believe Samatoki said -san, not -sama when he asked for an honorific. Hmm, interesting.
I knew this would get animated, but…I still can’t believe I’m watching it! Amazing…absolutely amazing.
If you’re wondering…yes, that long thing is her entire title and name. It’s said the name “Kadenokouji” is the longest Japanese surname in existence.
I remember reading a tweet earlier today that said somebody wanted “Altercation! Altercation! Altercation!” as a song title…and now I LOL, because the subbers made Gentaro say the exact same word.
Hmm…I only just noticed BB are the only ones with bags. They probably came last, but who took the others’ bags into Chuoku…? Update: Some of the others did have bags, I just never spotted them. For instance, Riou is carrying a large black rectangular bag, but Samatoki and Jyuto don’t have any. Jakurai has the bag from his TDD days.
The 2nd DRB brackets got announced today. BB vs DH, MTR vs BAT, FP vs MTC, rolling out across Japan (and Japan only due to COVID) in 2021.
“What happened between you and him?” - I was going “who?” in Cantonese (as I sometimes do), but turns out they’re just referring to Samatoki.
This is exactly as it played out in the drama tracks and manga…exactly what I was waiting for all this time! So good, dangit!
LOL, in the future, we will have camera drones working our concerts like they do in the DRBs…I think (?)
I wonder what Dice is thinking right now, seeing Otome on the screen…hmm…
…gah! Airhorn! Airhorn to the ears! *tilts to side due to sound*
I still kind of remember Slug’s take on the final battle…”The popo? More like the poopoo!” (or something like that). *sniggers*
The little barking bit after Jiro’s verse was…kinda cute, actually.
…ow, these are some burn-ass words. See? This is the power of the DRB!
…eh? Riou’s mic has his MC name on it. Don’t think I’ve seen that in any other part of the series.
Hoh, Riou even made references to Saburo’s character songs.
You can see “Hc” on Samatoki’s mic too…probably another case of his MC name, but partially obscured by his hand.
Aw, “Samatoki no sabaku toki” is a good lyric. Why couldn’t you try to keep that, instead of translating it literally to “judgement day for Samatoki”?
You can hear a thumping beat in the background when Samatoki prepares himself. That seems to be a similar way to how ARB treats this stuff.
“I’m THE Samatoki” – “Samatoki-sama da”.
I think it was really cool to show Samatoki handing the song over to Riou, but it also indicates there’s a disjunct in the lyrics that would cause such a thing. From this, maybe Riou is MTC’s weak link…?
Skeletons with katanas! Is that not cool?!?
…hey, that joined words thing Ichiro does…I would assume that’s what Rhyme Strike looks like in the HypMic universe?
Notice Samatoki took the word “signal” from Ichiro’s part and put it into his own one.
“Today is a good day to die.” – *eyes bulge* Oh…gosh. What a quote. Update: Someone theorised Ichijiku wrote these titles (the last 2), but someone else – like me – theorised this quote was what FP and M fans thought for this battle.
Akudama 7
…that’s one twisted kid.
Never threaten to kill a kid who can regenerate far better than you, Hoodlum.
Brawler is still in the OP…it’s kind of saddening to see him now.
I noticed a certain character appears on the Executioners’ hands if you pause at the right moment in the OP. It’s the first character in shori (management).
Bunny: set meal/Shark: roasted meat (yakiniku)
…This sounds a heck of a lot like the genbaku dome (Hiroshima Peace Park).
Bunny and Shark’s shirts together: Idiot -> Shark: Bone
Actually, this also reminds me of the Osaka Expo held in 1970. I loved writing about that event – it was just so fun to write about.
This anime is like Appare-Ranman’s sequel, except without the racing and crazy racial stereotypes (although there are still crazy stereotypes).
…whoa! This scene is going on the end of year list for sure. Just…have to remember this scene, where all the children disappeared, exists.
…”The City of Lost Children” is an apt title for this episode.
(HypMic spoilers!) I wonder if they’ll reveal that Ramuda is a clone in what’s left of the HypMic anime?
…oof, Doctor’s a filthy traitor!
Rule number 1 of fighting: never yell out “Smokescreen!” when the smokescreen is meant to cover you.
…LOL, dark censorship bar. Please wait for the Blu-Rays to see this scene uncensored.
What the heck?! The countdown went from 7 to 0 so fast!
Akudama 8
Black Rain, huh? *checks* It’s a movie about a pair of New York policemen who have to save a Japanese gangster from his death.
…don’t jinx it, Swindler!
Your brother isn’t on the moon, Sister. It’s just your dreams on there.
Notice “Neo Lake Biwa” actually has “Reiku” in its name, as opposed to, say, “mizuumi” or “ike” (the Japanese equivalent).
You can still see where Doctor stitched herself up.
What did Doctor “hold on to”?
Way to monologue through the whole morality thing… (<- not as satisfied as they would like from this scene)
I wonder if the seal is electronically tracked…
Tsubo = pot, vase…*thinks about drugs* (Not that pot.)
“…I’ll make you into a real man.” – More like a eunuch, LOL. (partially sarcastic)
I recall from Sarazanmai that “pair look” is the term for “twinsies” in Japanese.
Oh! Swindler kind of looks like the Executioner Boss now.
…I find it ironic that Swindler had long hair up until not too long ago.
Can to the eye! Ouch! That’s gotta be worse than a lightsaber…er, jitte to the eye!
This makes me wonder…was Courier a rich kid once…?

Eddig - ebben a vastagon kibővített januárban (február végén jóval rövidebb lista lesz) - egyrészt Rina Mushonga lemeze tetszett a legjobban.
Andrew Wasylyk albuma a békés félrevonulás zenéje, szemlélődő, pasztorálos.
Ezek tetszettek a legjobban eddig.

Otoharu: Es gracias a ti, Banri-kun. Otoharu: Jaja… Me esforzaré para invitarte a algún bonus. Banri: Muchas gracias.
Yamato: Ah… Tengo sueño… Mitsuki: No bosteces tanto, viejo. Yamato: Mitsu. Mitsuki: Yamato-san. ¿Cómo estuvo tu cita con la manager? Yamato: Ooh. Estuvo bien. …Auch. Yamato: … Sougo: Tiene razón, Yamato-san. Yamato: Sou… Sougo: Fueron a Yaotome Productions a disculparse, ¿no? Yamato: … Mitsuki: Vamos, Sougo. Sougo: Sí. Sougo: Gracias por hacer tanto por nosotros. Trabajaste muy duro, Yamato-san. Mitsuki: ¡Gracias por todo lo que hiciste! Yamato: …Jaja… Yamato: Qué es esto... Idiotas... Yamato: Gracias. Yamato: Ooh. Cierto, aún no bebemos juntos.
(1) Tamaki: …Estoy llorando… Nagi: …Beautiful… Japanese anime is wonderful… Tamaki: Ah, me gotea la nariz... Oye, Nagicchi. Nagi: Oh, ten pañuelos. Tamaki: Gracias. ...No, no era eso. ¿No han estado actuando extraño Iorin y Rikkun? Nagi: OH… Tamaki: Hmmm. No entiendo… Tamaki: Veamos cómo se siente. Nagi: ¿Por qué? Tamaki: Date vuelta. Nagi: Ok! (3) Tamaki: Ok. …nggg. Nagi: ¿Cómo se siente? Tamaki: …nnn, nn-nn. Nagi: What? Tamaki: Nnnnnnn– Nagi: De nuevo, please. Tamaki: Nnn–! Nnn– ¡…bwagh! ¡Nagicchi, lo hiciste a propósito! Nagi: Ah, te diste cuenta... ¿Cómo fue? Tamaki: ¿Cómo...? Tamaki: … Nagi: ¿Tamaki? Nagi: ¡Oh…! ¡Aquí están los pañuelos! ¡Esa es mi ropa... no! No!
Voy a dormirme temprano... Iori: ¡Nanase-san! Riku: … Iori: Estoy preocupado. Si no va a escucharme, iré a contárselo a todos. ¿Entendido? Riku: …Ah… Iori: …Ya está jadeando. ¿No debería ir al doctor? Riku: No es para tanto… Iori: No estará mintiendo, ¿cierto? Riku: No… Eventualmente se calmará... Iori: … Iori: Puede acostarse... Voy a hablar, pero no necesita forzarse a responder. Riku: …Estoy bien... Es más cómodo si estoy sentado... Iori: … Iori: Nosotros... Que queramos que cante, ¿le causa dolor? Iori: Responda sí o no. Riku: … Riku: No. Iori: … Iori: Morir… Riku: ¡Es una forma de decir! No moriré. Riku: Iori… Riku: …Me haces feliz, pero tú no me elegiste. Fue la manager, o el presidente, ¿cierto? Iori: …E-es un decir. Riku: Jaja.

Nagi: What!?
Tsumugi: ¿No sería difícil?
