idrk how to formulate this, and like i know it's not that deep, but low key i almost always feel out of my depth when talking about mxtx's characters and works, and i think it's because if i retrace all my other main fandoms for at least the past 5 years, they've all been fandoms that i'd been in previously or that i've known for a long time, even if the intensity's different.

like i was not in the marauders fandom before 2022, but i had been a harry potter fan since birth. i might have stopped watching spn in 2015, but i had still seen the show and been involved in the fandom at least up until season 9 before getting back into it seriously in 2020. with haikyuu and snk i was majorly active in their respective fandoms for yearssss and with snk especially i still kept up with canon even when i wasn't following the fandom at all.

so like, for most of these, i have minimum a decade that i've known the characters, known the story, and even if i've not actively been thinking about it, that's enough time that i feel strong in my understanding of the characters themes narrative etc., and that strength of conviction means i feel able to speak freely (because i know i have the sources ready at hand to back up what i might say, and for things that might not require sources like headcanons, i have enough evidence that i can give a coherent reasoning).

but i point blank do not have that with svsss and mdzs. i really do not feel like i understand the characters to the same level, i really do not feel like i can speak on the themes being developed, and i certainly don't feel like i can give my own headcanons, because i simply do not have the information and understanding. like i have read mdzs 3 times and svsss closer to 5 in about a 6 month period, but i still feel like my grasp on these characters is incredibly loose. and i think it is mostly just because. i haven't been thinking about it for a decade.

like i'd love to make the sort of casual headcanon type post for mxtx characters like i did for hq and snk but geniunely i don't feel like i can. it's not a big deal and it literally only impacts me. but like. i do think about this

thank you! first, i get my HQ screencaps from homeofthenutty, or i download zipped folder packs for more detailed caps for free from somewhere like livejournal archives. then, i run them through Dazz Cam, which is a polaroid filtering app. gives it the base layer of texture/standard gritty look.

then i physically color the images through the app Polarr where you basically download presets by googling "polarr *insert term* filter code" to get examples of vintage filters or like ones that highlight specific colors. you can mess with toning, HSL, grain level, etc. i can send some codes your way if you're curious about the darker ones i use specifically. polarr is free to use but Dazz Cam has you pay to use premium "cameras," aka specific filtering

16) Which fanfic trope would you force onto Dean and Cas in a canon episode?: Ooo witch curse, like a love/truth curse, etc! I think it’s just a complete missed opportunity, and they’re forced to address their feelings, incredible

23) You get to make one decision for the jackles reboot/miniseries. What is it?: Oh god umm I have too many thoughts so I’ll give a dumb one. It’s a domestic family comedy, like the whole time(everyone is alive). It’s just like crack spn episodes, with the usual sitcom troupes, and elements of Supernatural mixed in. Like Dean and Cas stop hunting (they bought a house, Jack lives with them) and they’re trying to blend in and failing, Cas works at the library and Dean is a mechanic. Jack goes to high school (but he’s three!), and he still gets to hunt on the weekends with Claire and Kaia, if he doesn’t have homework of course (hijinks ensue). While Eileen and Sam run a hunters HQ out of the bunker, and there’s always hunters coming in and out and they never get a moment to themselves(room for classic misunderstandings)! And they all have to attend a family dinner every Sunday at Dean and Cas’, because Dean insists and “threatens” whoever doesn’t come. Because I think after all of this we just deserve to see them having light-hearted cliche fun(i mean of course there’s gonna be angst mixed in because duh)

Interesting.. I'm not sure I trust that idea for on-screen appeal (due to various reasons) but i would definitely read a fic of it.

I think Misha is enough of an oddball to just roll with the general existence of magic, creatures, other dimensions, etc. He'd have an absolute blast. 

Important question: would Canonverse folk know there's been a changeup, or would the IRL folk try to keep their cover? Could go either way, tbh.

But since The French Mistake doesn't have Cas transported with TFW, let's say Jensen doesn't make this cut. Imagine Dean encountering Misha, thinking it's Cas, having a brainfreeze moment over his inexplicable wardrobe: jeans, tight t-shirt, leather jacket, bracelet.. plus a wedding ring!? imagine Misha rolling with some BS about being undercover for a case - suddenly we have Misha and Dean fake dating for a non-existent case?! I'm down for some crack!

Also, Misha could be open (but not too open) about Cas' feelings for Dean. Subtle hints, just open the door a bit, y'know? Enough of a nudge to lessen Dean's doubts. Canonverse!Cas returns amidst some chaos sequence and claims amnesia, and some of Dean's doubt has slipped away. Things are looking up for them.

BONUS: Mark Sheppard gets transported with Misha. The lack of Armani suits has folks thinking Crowley's really let himself go, maybe an after-effect of spending so long in The Empty. Dean likes this resurrected Crowley because apparently he plays the drums. Cue open mic night at the local dive bar - "Crowley" on drums, Dean singing and playing guitar. They'd have some witty band name I can't think of rn, but the potential is there..

15. Name three things you would change about spn.

The Writers Room: Goodbye nepotism, misogyny, and Lucifer-loving Bucklemming. But overall, cull it. There have been just way too many cooks in the kitchen affecting Continuity each season (clashing or forgotten lore, etc.), ruining Character Arcs (too many out-of-character eps), and fudging Overall Plot Cohesion (season 13 took some weird turns, season 14 was a mess, but every season has its disjointed moments).

The Network: Change it. Change it to whoever would let them swear, have tattoos/piercings/jewellery, and show more skin. Whoever wouldn't meddle in the story, aka. non-homophobes who wouldn't pander to so-called conservative audiences.

Better Representation and Treatment of Women and Minority (queer, poc, neurodivergent, those with a disability) characters. Pretty much every season is guilty of bad rep for minorities, but we also need more diverse characters written in. 

BONUS: Keep the early seasons gritty filter, or at least tone down that high def orange of later seasons. Most soundstage scenes in the later seasons (namely The Bunker, but also motels, etc.) feel like we're on a soundstage and it ruins the suspension of disbelief. And the Bunker being their fixed HQ means we get far less on-location shots and I miss the landscapes of Americana.

18. Ideally, what season would have Dean and Cas gotten together?

I'm a fan of the Slowest Burn To Ever Slow™ (and seeing as how I binged seasons 5 to12 for the first time when season 13 was airing I had high hopes for what was still to come). I'm going with one of the later seasons. 

I definitely thought season 13 was gearing up for a Love Confession and/or Kiss after grieving!Dean and Cas' resurrection. Throw in Dadstiel and it was the greatest letdown of the series to see them shy away from that awesome potential. 

Alternatively: the end of season 15. Rewrite 15x20 and have Dean rescue Cas from The Empty and confesses his own heart with words and an on-screen kiss.

buckle up because this is gonna be loooong

if you’d asked me a couple years ago how i wanted the show to end i would have said that I wanted them having to fight some big bad (idk what, god/chuck could fit this probably) but it wasn’t enough for team free will, they needed help from all sides. so like they’d somehow go to heaven and rally around their friends who had gone there (ash, jo, ellen, kevin, bobby, victor etc.) and those guys would help fight from within heaven, then they’d get the wayward gals involved too, some of the nice angels/demons/monsters and possibly revisit some of the people from the earlier seasons that helped them out like the police ladies who let them go/helped them get away. (basically like the doctor who ep with all the companions and torchwood and sarah jane) idk how it would all happen (I ain’t that clever) but it would end with dean dying and telling sam to go live the life he wanted when he was at stanford and sam does, so dean goes to heaven and meets up with everyone at the roadhouse and cas comes in and deancas goes canon somehow idk but then cas would flit between spending time in heaven with dean and keeping an eye on sam and keeping dean updated with sam’s life (wife, kids etc.) and then it officially ends years later when sam dies naturally (or maybe not, maybe the physical effects of their hunting life catch up with him idk) but one day dean is up in heaven at the roadhouse again (idk how much of this would work in canon lore lmao) and sam walks in looking exactly the same as he did the day dean died and then the brothers have an emo reunion and cas stays with them both in heaven ((this was before jack became a main part so idk how he would fit in))

but NOW i just want canon destiel, dean dying, sam living his normal life with eileen and being like a dad/uncle to jack, running the bunker as a HQ and becoming a bobby figure in whatever way we can get that 

however given what we have to go on, i think cas will get taken by the empty just not hopeful that his ending will be at all with the winchesters, i think he’ll probably die alone or smth, maybe sacrificing himself for jack and destiel won’t be canon

and with some of the spoilers i’ve seen i reckon at least one, if not both, of the brothers will die 

ngl i have no fucking clue where they’re going with the ending now (especially with the last couple of episodes being a bit off) I just know it probably won’t be what I want (and definitely not what fans overall want lmao) but I’m okay with that? even if i hate the ending it’s not going to stop the fact that i’ve loved the show and cast for 8 years

Is it worth trying to please the masses when we can't please ourselves? Am I poking the bear? It just seems you are a voice of discernment and I am trying to ask the write questions.

This is a tricky kebab to de-skewer, it’s stacked. But not impossible to stomach. It is not, after all, an alt-world crispy lizard.

Cool your jets, Sammy.

Hopefully it’ll be of relief to know that I’m not going to tell you to write because it makes you happy, and write for you, and then the readers will come. Not because it’s not true, but (a) because you know that, and (b) because it’s a bit of a pat answer. Touching on the second part of your question briefly - the whole chumming the water scenario - hypothetically, were you to do this, I waffle in my speculations as to what degree it would be successful due to the doldrums.

Whether it’s cookbook fic or the quality stuff you’re aiming for, people will be able to tell if you’re going through the motions. Well, some won’t, because they aren’t, um, discerning, to borrow your word, and others are just reading for some time-killing fun, and there’s a subset of those folks with wicked senses of humor, so the worse the fic, the better. Having said that, I’m a big proponent of assuming all readers are witty and intelligent, and via the writing, I’m going to treat them as such, and so they’ll know if I’m not feeling it. 

So. Back to that ineptitude feeling part. Spoiler alert: I can’t fix this…

Part One: So Do I Just Blow At This Fanfic Stuff?

PS: Dunno if you “know” me, but FYI this should hopefully be an easy read with lotsa snark and gifs interspersed and, oh yeah, potty mouth.

I’m gonna ask a rhetorical question that’s yours to answer, because no one else can:

Why is that?

I mean in an objective sense, not in a blanket sense of “Well, Nash, you dumb bitch, my self-confidence blows”; what I’m driving at are the non-emotional factors. If we go emotion, you’re gonna start subconsciously lumping things in with the writing part (i/e - putting blame on yourself for other areas of life where you perceive yourself as not being “good enough”), so we should go the other route. Make this as fact-based as possible.

What facts are you basing this on? Do you publish stuff, and not get a lot of hearts/notes/reblogs/followers/etc.? What’re your metrics? Put plainly: Is this you being hard on yourself, or is there something concrete to back it up?

(A person who can’t act, for instance, should probably find something else to do after 20 years of auditioning with no parts. An artist who hasn’t been featured in a show or sold one painting. A chef who can’t make it past the line to sous. You get what I’m saying. There’s undeniable evidence there, because after a lengthy period of time, the chances that no casting director, no curator, and no head chef have picked up on the prowess of these special snowflakes is virtually nil. They blow. Their confidence has morphed into delusion. They need to accept they should stop trying to make fetch happen.)

Now, based upon this—

—I’m assuming that’s the case, that part about you having something concrete driving at least part of your self-assessment. My interpretation of your statement (and correct me if I’m not tracking with you) is that you think your style isn’t appealing to majority of the readership ‘round here, ergo it’s feeding this feeling of ineptitude. I can’t offer advice on fixing what other life aspects could be acting as the base of that feeling, but the pile-on feeling from the writing aspect of it, that we can work with.

I’d have to have more information to make a detailed, precise call on whether this is a skill-based scenario, namely - assuming you trust my tastes to a degree - reading your stuff. Which isn’t likely to happen unless you’ve got a sneaky way of recommending it to me via a friend or something a good bit of time from now when this isn’t fresh on my mind*, because I can’t know who you are or connect it to this conversation, or we’re automatically injecting bias.

(*It would have to be a really, really, really long time from now; I have a pretty sharp memory; it’d need to be too far out to be helpful for you in the near future.)

What I can tell about you without reading any of your stories is that you are above average in intelligence and are well-educated, whether formally or self-taught, based upon the words you used and how they are used - and if you thesaurus'ed it, you’re smart enough not to pick glaringly extravagant words - and you were succinct and expressed the issue well, with sincere concern that didn’t go all sad-sack Eeyore.

You can write.

But can you tell a story? Can you capture the essence of known characters and present this with accuracy? Do you have original ideas, which you can distill into interesting plots? Etc.? Again, I can’t know for sure. Now, a way that you could get a taste of what I’d call you on were I acting as your editor?

There is a *plethora* of objective criteria over at The Nail’s HQ, and I’ve recently re-done the pages so they are mobile-friendly (bless octomoosey and his brilliant designs). Like, seriously - they look okay on my laptop and huge-ass desktop monitor, but baby do they shine on phones. #bless octomoosey part deux  The foundation of all of it comes from advice from pros, and whether I/we personally like their stuff or not, they’ve all been highly successful and managed to appeal to the masses while keeping a high bar. They don’t cater to the lowest common denominator. And even though I personally may not love all the fics I put on The Nail in a given edition (‘ships, too shmoopy, too angsty, whatever), they’re solidly hitting, at minimum, at least three of those “guiding standards”.  

Great, so, there’s Nash’s Edit Yourself At Home! kit… which brings me to a disclaimer.

I don’t have mass appeal.

What I do have is a solid, loyal reader base who gives me phenomenal feedback (a handful of them giving me fantastic constructive critique when needed) on the reg, and I couldn’t ask for more. And because I am human and I like knowing people dig what I make and because, as a grown-ass adult, I am capable of assigning value to and caring about two or more things at the same time, I would also totes ask for more - not of them, I mean I’d like more people to join in. I would love to have that lil’ bottom left hand corner sporting a number in the hundreds within the day of publish. That’s motivating. That’s telling me people are into what I make. That’s telling me I am super good at—–

Wait.

That last bit…  Does it? Mean that I’m super-good at it? Does that metric alone paint a good picture of my talent? Hmmmm. Well. How to put.

And if that “oh, but fuck no” didn’t serve as a tonal lead-in, let me be clear that this is the part where Nash Shoves Logic Into The Closet And Locks The Door For A Minute, And Vents Her Frustrations, With Which You And Others Reading This Could Perhaps Empathize And Are Giving Me Virtual High Fives And Yasss Gurrrrl-s Through The Screen At Completion Of Rant.

Have you seen some of the absolute garbage that screams through the Tumblrsphere like a cat with a bell on its tail? Holy moses, is it shit. Same shit, different title. One example of the problems: I don’t recognize Sam or Dean more than half the time. Then I see a bazillionty notes on it, a bunch of feedback on folks’ reblogs, ask-kissing©℗™ talking about how the writer captured the guys so perfectly, and they seemed just like they are in the show and… and… and… and… and I’m all:

ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME SHOW?!?!  The men in many of these stories are mannequins/Real Dolls with the faces of JA and JP slapped atop. They are what the writers want them to be, not what the characters are, and it’s lazy because we have 13-odd years of scripts and visuals to glean from, and it takes consideration and practice to pull it off. 

Same goes for working a reader insert, making that person juuuuust vague enough so that readers can actually, um, picture themselves in the role. But what do we get instead? Most of the time there is zero depth to ol’ Y/N. Zip. Nada. She’s so tough, she’s nigh on invulnerable (until she’s not, so she can be saved, and the Mannequin can pine in the meantime), or she’s so fragile and mousy and immature I wanna cunt punt her, or she’s the perfect pussy with next to no flaws, and regardless she’s getting moved into the bunker with an engagement ring and/or Winchester fetus,and ermahgerd, total window-closers.

But they’re clearly doing something right, and they took the time to give us a story free of charge, and….and…. and yet….

(I am aware I am abusing those gifs of late, I’ll get through it, but today is not that day)

Okay, okay, okay, what does this have to do with you - the answer is that you can actually use these atomic farts as a handbook, as well (which ties into Pt.2 of the question, and we’ll get there. Eventually.), assuming you decide you don’t want to chum the waters, and want to do your thing.

(1) The Nail pages are gonna give you some objective things to work with and aim for; 

(2) those truly inept, supposedly based-upon-SPN stories are gonna give you some objective things to avoid like the plague;

And that combo will hopefully….

(3) get a draft out of you that has you sitting back and going, “I’m not 100% that this is gold, but I’ve sure got something shiny, here.”

It’s a feeling of trepidation, it’s not your ultimate goal of “confidence and certainty with [my] works”, but we’ve stepped out of the feeling of ineptitude, and that’s the point. You didn’t arrive at feeling inept overnight, that kebab’s got about four or five veg before it gets to the meat (and several are onions, always with the onions, MORE RED PEPPERS, UNCLE HANK!), so you’re not gonna get to that nice thick sirloin in one sitting, either.

Say, are you a vegetarian? This non-tofu kebab metaphor may be falling flat if so. But transparency and all, I confess I’d rather have alt-world lizard kebab than tofu. Dean, what say you?

One way you’re going to start feeling certain in your works—-

and listen, you know this, but I’ll say it anyway: nobody’s ever 100% certain

—-is when people zero in on specific things you did right, and if they stood out to a reader, they likely stood out to you, so it’s gonna be all “YES!” in your head. When this starts happening, make two documents:

(1) Fic_Feedback_Yes- sort the (positive, praising, specific-things-noted) comments by story - copy them verbatim- read whenever ineptitude feels start creeping back whilst writing/editing story

(2) Fic_Feedback_No- sort the (constructive critique, helpful, specific-things-noted) comments by story - copy them verbatim- read whenever ineptitude feels start creeping back whilst writing/editing story

Yeah, I know.  We ain’t here for ego-feeding, we’re here for confidence, and we don’t get confidence without being aware of not just what we’re nailing, but also of our Achilles’ heels. I joke about “filling the ol’ ego tank”, but it’s legit not an ego thing. Ego things we’re going to touch on in Pt. 2, how it can blind us, and then we’re cranking out stuff that, when cut into, is a dried husk like that turkey in Christmas Vacation.

So, here we are, back to the numbers. Assuming we get you to mild trepidation stage - normal for writers getting into their groove - how do we get you to the point where your stuff is yielding commentary for your docs, for your growth? 

Well, that won’t happen right away, people have to get a feel of you beyond your stories (we’ll talk about that in Pt. 2, as well), so initially it’s going to manifest as hitting the heart, maybe some generic “This is awesome!”-s, maybe some reblogs without commentary, and that’s typical, and we’ll take it, it still goes into your “Mass Appeal” metrics, lets you know you’re getting closer to a broader readership, that you’ve done something/several somethings right….

….which is a nice place to stop Part One. 😉

Yesss. 🙌 I like the idea of trying to do a themed collage or a "moodboard" or something for J2? But I'm new to fandom and I don't fully know spn/J2 fandom etiquette on finding, using, or reuploading spn/J2 pictures and... (cont.⬇️)

(Feel free to ignore this or read the tl;dr at bottom) I would have to find people willing to let me use (and reblog of course) their screencaps, photos or downloads so I can credit them as op if I make a little collage. I know different people have different feelings on that stuff, especially when it comes to fandom newbies, and I get it. :) Anyway if anyone who sees this just knows offhand where to get resources, especially from people who clearly state they are fine with/actively encourage!!! edits etc with credit and would like to share, (I know a few fandoms upload packets on DeviantArt and encourage use long as you favorite and link back?) I would love to learn. :") Or just learn where you guys take such high quality screenshots??? A link to a tutorial or a phrase to Google so I can find tutorials on my own? It is a mystery to me. 😂 Pop a DVD into a computer and take screencaps there?? Download old interviews from YT? I'll take any info anyone wants to give, if they have the time/energy and feel that it's worth it to them, I know everyone has lives and unique techniques on top of that and again, I'm a newbie to this fandom. :) Back when I discovered Thorki all I had to do was go to a website with hq screenshots from like every single frame of every single movie if I needed pics, which seems so crazy now. 💀 Some of the stuff in this fandom is 15 years old and I'm new here, I know everyone works hard finding, archiving, creating and editing stuff, and I don't want to do anything that would suck the wind out of someone else's sails. 💓💓

TL;DR Where do y'all even get J2 pictures? 😂 I see new ones crop up once in a while on Twitter and pretty soon I forget the source because it all mixes together. 💀 Is there a search tool for Twitter bookmarks??? 'Cause Damn.

“2 in 1″-Promo for 12x22 “Who We Are” and 12x23 “All Along the Watchtower” Some Last Spec on the Season Finale Alright, so here goes some spec for the season finale that no one needs, but when watching the “2 in 1″-promo I ended up having some thoughts - aside from wishing that any of this season was as good as this 1 minutes teaser. Anyway, I tried to put the sets above into like “categories” of what seems to be belonging together simply because I feel it’s much easier to to untangle the last two episodes that way. The following is basically what @lemondropsonice and me came up with when going through the promo frame by frame. First and foremost it seems that some of the episode(s) may take place in a different dimension or at the very least in some sort of “different times of being” or planes of existence, as in meeting in a sort of mental meeting point or something, which may be created also by the nephilim or Lucifer himself. But I’m going to go through this loosely in order of the edit sets, which starts with the Winchesters and Toni Bevell in the bunker. What we get to see seems to capture them trying to find a way to get out of the bunker with Dean looking at old maps and Sam and Dean trying to hammer their way out of there, but of course not being too successful, which is why they appear to work some ritual or spell. Maybe to summon someone/something (maybe Crowley or Rowena for example) - which also seems to be working at least partially giving the shaking table. It could of course be something entirely else they may try to summon. May crazy mind of course went to Michael, but of course that’s just wishful thinking. In any case it seems that maybe whatever they try won’t work completely in the end. However with their spellwork they may have opened a doot for sth else to come through as well... The second set to me implies that maybe Toni tells Dean that there may be a way for them to reach out to Mary and make her turn around and come to her sense,which is why we see Dean all wired up. I don’t think this will be a case of brainwashing or mind control here, but rather a try to communicate. And of course here again I also have to think of the fact how there is a direct line between angel and vessel and that one only needs to know how to dial, which yeah brings me back to Michael, which will be a recurring theme throughout this spec lol. But anyway, Maybe this try to get Dean inside Mary’s head (here we would have another variation of “2 in 1″ from the promo, because it would be two people inside one head, though one could also read the title as a nod towards Kelly Kline and Lucifer’s baby, who are also “2 in 1″ and of course last but not least it may be read as possession and in general imo serves as a nod towards the fact that we have seen so many characters mind controlled by something else, like Kelly nd Cas by the unborn baby or Mary by the BritMol, etc.) may also make Dean enter Mary’s memories in some proximity, which brings me to the fourth set, because in the promo we see multiple shots of what appear to be flashbacks or dream sequences that Dean may share with Mary and almost all of those seem connected to the old Winchester house in Lawrence Kansas. There’s the stairs that look exactly like the one in the pilot and there’s the sofa and tv set we also saw John sitting in sleeping the night Azazel came for Sam. And of course bringing in such flashbacks makes sense, because the nephilim storyline is basically a repeat of the Winchester origins. And whatever else happens in these scenes suggests that they are realy painful (or maybe the realization that they can’t escape their prison and that their mom’s pratcically dead) given Dean tears up. Now going back to set 2, it appears to be that Ketch returns to the bunker for whatever reason - maybe because they realized they had lost a bit of control over Mary, because Dean was able to reach out to her mentally? In any case it seems to me that Ketch’s return then will spark the ultimate confrontation between him and the Winchester and as the frame of Dean suggests Ketch getting to meet the “The Prisoner”-side of Dean. During that fight it appears to me that Ketch may bring the claw fist thing (the one we see getting cleaned later on in the promo) and may hurt Dean’s leg in the process. Long story short, in the end I think Ketch will die in this confrontation and his coming back will make their escape possible. Which then may make the Winchesters set out to take the BritMoL down once and for all, so they head out to their headquarters. In the mean time it appears that we may get to see further instructions for Mary to kill - yes, we have seen this all before, because Mary was essentially given Dean’s story, thank you so much, Dabb you are such a good writer! *sarcasm* - it seemed she killed some Lester, which yes only drives the point home even more how this is a repeat of Dean’s story given Dean killed Lester too when he was a demon and influenced by the MoC. She gets her next target, which is Jody Mills. However it appears that Mary may have also been sicced on Rowena as the hand we see holding a long strand of red hair in her hands looks more like the hand of a woman rather than a man - though I will say there’s also possibility to assume that the one playing with the strand of hair coud be Lucifer due to the colour of the jacket, but Mark Pellegrino doesn’t have such hands imo, but let’s pretend it’s Lucifer. Why would he go after Rowena? Possibly because Rowena could find a way to power down his son or also possibly, because he may think she may know her son’s whereabouts, becasue we all know that Crowley switched places this week’s episode (truly, it can’t get any more obvious tbh) with a rat. So... as we know the demons had to get Crowley’s body out of the way, I assume they buried him, which brings us to the “Lazarus Rising”-sequence, which I first had hoped would be Michael or John rising, but which I think is actually Crowley who switches places again and went back into his body and thus crawling out of his grave. Back to BritMoL HQ where the Winchesters are about to take down the full joint when they learn that Jody’s in their power as well. All hell breaks loose and in the process Mary is sicced on her sons, but she is unable to break through and hold herself back. In the crossfire Jody manages to shoot last woman standing Mrs Hess, but not before she - seeing that their plan has failed - kills Mary. Queue Sam’s expression in the third set. And in the end to wipe the BritMoL of the face off the U.S: Dean pushes to button to blow up the BritMoL HQ (though i also continue want to see the bunker burn to the ground tbh) End of episode 12x22 On we go with episode 12x23 where we switch to Cas and Kelly Kline, who seem to hide out in some small house near a lake (because Cas is always coded and connected to water, but also because it serves as a callback to Amara bringing Dean to the lake in S11). While Kelly seems to have settled on a name - “Jack”, it seems, yeah short for Jacob probably, because... well biblical name and all - and keeps it calm, Cas appears to find something off about the world around him, because it seems the way he points his finger the air may turn liquid there. Could be that it’s a case of the child further controlling Cas or Cas realizing that he’s being controlled. In any case it seems that later on Dean and Sam may end up there and Cas - touching Deam’s forehead either heals Dean or shows him something (maybe the kid’s idea of the future) or zapps him somewhere else, the other dimension maybe that I think will be played parallel to the narrative in earth time. It’s not shown but I assume Lucifer will track them all down and may hurt or kill Cas in the process - which may also be why he is in the other dimensions (that’s the thid possibility: all of them are dead and this is actually the Empty. I couldn’t picture a better Empty than a desert tbh - though Cas’ wounds could also be brought about by those claw thingies, though I don’t think Ketch will end up being in this scene. Which brings me to the last set, I’m gonna label that “plane of existence” limbo right now - and in between place like “King’s Cross” in Harry Potter. Meaning they all are on the verge of death or dead. Meaning Sam, Dean and Mary all died and Cas possibly too (unless suddenly angels can travel these planes of existence). I assume that they all may hae to fight for their life there again, kind of like in purgatory, but just when they all feel they can’t win mystery desert guy helps kill the rest of them and walks up to them. No statue wise it could be Mark Pellegrino, which would mean that Lucifer would possibly just enjoy to lead them on only to hurt them all some more after that - unless his child intervenes. I rather prefer however that this mystery person isn’t Lucifer, but someone else from the past. If this place truly is limbo or possibly the “Empty”, I think Billie would be a neat one to end up being the mystery person. However, given the expressions of all Winchesters, I personally would like it most if who saved them was John Winchester. I am not a fan of the character by a long shot but with how this season has been referencing the beginning of SPN it would make sense to bring him back - but if so I think probably rather in shape of Matt Cohen rather than Jeffrey Dean Morgan. And of course I have to throw this in one last time here, who knows, maybe it’s just someone looking like John, but actually being someone else *whispers* Michael. Revelation of whoever mystery desert guy is and queie title cards: End of S12.

Ok, first, I’m not “Tumblr famous”, as people say. I’m not, let’s say, Sakimichan or Loish, that kind of super big (and talented) names. I’m sort of “famous” in the Supernatural and Stucky fandoms but if you talk about me to a Steven Universe fan, I’m sure they have no idea who I am xD

Otherwise, Ha! Ha! Yes! I remember my start on LJ, that was fun xD I had no idea how the site worked, I didn’t understand how to have a cool layout or even to make friends. I was bothering the mods all the time during my first LJ challenge too xD. And the abbreviations…People use a lot of abbreviations on LJ, so I was lost. And when I had a comment on one of my posts?!! CHAMPAGNE AND JELLYBEANS! Who are you kind person who stopped at my page? Let me salute you!! ^o^

I remember when I had like 10 followers but you know, I didn’t do things that differently from what I’m doing now: I shipped whatever the hell I wanted to ship, I killed my favorite characters all the time, I tried to explain in a more or less approximate “Frenglish” how I worked. What I do less, maybe, now that I have more followers, is reblogging “wank posts” and telling people to shut the fuck the up. One, because I don’t have the time anymore and two, because it’s a responsibility in a way: I don’t want my followers to bite the ass of someone with 30 followers, who wrote once a silly thing because they didn’t have the knowledge about this or that precise topic. It can be pretty violent you know, so I prefer avoiding answering to “wank posts” or “unpopular opinion” posts even if sometimes, sometimes I REALLY WANT TO. OMG. There are a couple of people on this site…I swear. They make me facepalm every time I see their posts.

The exception: art thieves. In this case, I don’t care: no mercy. And I’m not talking about reposters here but real art thieves or people who refuse to take my posts down even when they are asked kindly.

I mean when you started on tumblr, did you have a lot of followers and all? 

I had a reasonable amount of followers from the start on Tumblr because most of my LJ followers followed me here. It was like “Guys! I’m now on Tumblr!!” and BOOM! suddenly, all the names that were familiar to me on LJ  started to followed me on Tumblr. That’s how I realized that this site was “the next big thing” and that everybody was already here except me. But you know I felt it was great because I felt home immediately not surrounded by people I didn’t know. I find it more intimidating when you enter a new fandom for instance.

Otherwise, having a lot of followers, it’s really cool. I’m not gonna complain. Of course, you have assets and drawbacks but it’s really mainly assets and tiny drawbacks. From the top of my head:

Assets:

- I receive more messages so I interact more and I feel less alone and “lost in the crowd” that someone who has 10 followers :)

- People let me know that they love my work and in a project like The Life of Bucky Barnes, it’s important, I think. It really gives me a boost when I’m feeling down sometimes to receive encouraging and heart-warming messages.❤ Basically, your followers are your force and your fuel. ❤

- When I work on a new project, I really feel supported by my followers and they are sometimes as enthusiastic as I am. In other words: group squee!

- When my art is stolen my followers let you know immediately and they even contact the site or the art thief directly to have them take the art down. Same when the art is reposted, I have messages in my inbox to let me know. They are SUPER efficient! Thank you guys!!

- When I look for a reference pic (or if I have a question), I have my answer in…5 minutes! For instance, when I was working on my pics for the Stucky Anthology, I was looking for a precise pic of Sebastian Stan but even after looking on Google Image I couldn’t find it in a decent quality. I asked my followers and two minutes later, I had the pic in HQ! Isn’t it awesome? ^o^

- I don’t take commissions but if I did, having a big number of followers would give me the possibility to reach my commission goal more quickly.

Drawbacks

- More hate mail (that you can reduce a lot by ignoring them completely or avoiding cryptic posts like “To all my haters, I just want you to know…”. )

- More porn bots and spam. In other words more Russian ladies dropping the now famous “Hey!” in your inbox or via private message.

- More stolen artworks (the last two weeks were really something xD) because my work is more exposed than the one of someone with less followers. By “stolen artworks” I don’t only mean people who edit my signature to put theirs. I mean, people who use my design for T-shirts, mugs, prints…etc.

- More artworks reposted all over the place and without credit including on site like 9gag. I don’t even want to talk about Instagram or FB, the bane of my existence.

- Lots of messages so it takes me time to answer people and some asks in my inbox stay there a whole month (I’m so sorry T___T I’m really doing the best I can.). I mean, it’s not a drawback per say. I just feel sorry for the people who are waiting to have an answer.. :/

- Some people think that you owe them something, for some reason and take it very personally when you stop to draw this or that ship…or that you start drawing a ship they don’t like. You are literally a traitor to the cause. (To what I can’t help rolling my eyes and think “Calm the hell down boo-boo”)

- Some people feel intimidated by you and don’t want to work with you during LJ challenges for instance. I know it because when I was on LJ you had this page called the “spn anon meme” where all the posts where anonymous and I read there more than once, about for instance the Spn J2BB: “I hope that P-m isn’t going to chose my summary. I don’t want this kind of attention on my fic”. It always stressed me when I chose the summary because I was always afraid to choose someone who wanted to stay in their little corner of the fandom and not being “bothered”. :/

- Some anons are super shy and they will never contact me un-anon because once again, they are intimidated. I mean, I’m a 5′2″ little person in Hello Kitty Pajamas, I don’t see why they feel so afraid xD
