Can we have some random lil' facts abt my fav boy pastelgoth!dream plz? I wanna draw 'im so bady but idk what exactly put there amchwkfjks
Sorry for getting their pronouns mistaken btw, I thought I saw a "female!dream" on the tags of his desing smh–
-Brazilian Annon
Sure! And yeah, I did originally have him tagged as fem!Dream simply due to the fact that he uses a female ecto, but I removed those in order to avoid confusion. Btw I’m so sorry that this stook me several days, I’ve been busy-
A few tidbits about them!:
-He acts more blank and aloof than the OG Dream, but he is no less kind! Just slightly sarcastic. -A total phone-starer, if nothing is happening and they’re standing idle, they are on their phone. -Overcomplicated drink orders, but he often feels bad about it and is incredibly patient with baristas -Upon befriending them you will immediately receive an info-dump on his favorite bands/artists, he takes the music side of being goth very seriously. -He was actually super preppy in the past, but damn do things change- -Heavy interest in fashion and clothes making, aspires to design something one day -While not necessarily taking it super seriously, he is very much into astrology -they’re a pan demiboy! -unlike canon Dream, he’s actually rather fond of owls
that’s as many as I can think of right now! Here, have a little doodle I did for ya since you seem to like them so much :3

the thing about some men is that they want you to remember, at all times, that you are underneath them. that with one word or look or "joke", you will stay beneath them. that even "exceptions" to the rule are not true exceptions - the commonly cited statistic that one in eight men believe they could win against serena williams.
women's gymnastics is often not seen as real gymnastics. whatever the fuck non-euclidian horrors rhythmic gymnasts are capable of, it's often tamped down as being not a sport. some of the most dominant athletes in the world are women. nobody watches women's soccer. despite years of dancing and being built like a fucking brick, men always assume they're faster and stronger than i am. you wouldn't like what happens when they are incorrect. once while drunk at a guy's house i won a held-plank challenge by a solid minute. the party was over after that - he became exceedingly violent.
what i mean is that you can be perfect, and they still think you're ... lacking, somehow. i hope you understand i'm trying to express a neutral statement when i say: taylor swift was the possibly the most patriarchy-palatable, straight-down-the-line woman we could churn out. she is white, conventionally attractive, usually pretty mild in personality. say what you will about her (and you should, she's a billionaire, she can handle it), but a few things seem to be true about her: 1. she can write a damn catchy song, and 2. the eras tour truly was a massive commercial success and was also genuinely an impressive feat of human athleticism and performance.
i don't know if she deserves the title of "woman of the year," i'm not debating that in this post. what i am saying is that she was named Woman of The Year, and then an untalented man got onstage at the golden globes and made fun of her for attending her boyfriend's football games. what i am saying is that this woman altered local economies - and her dating life is still being made into a "harmless" punchline. the camera panned, greedy, over to her downing a full glass of champagne. congratulations taylor! you are woman of the year! but you are a woman. even her.
fuck, man. write better material.
a guy gets onstage at a college graduation and despite the fact like half the crowd is made up of women, he spends a significant proportion of it warning these people - who spent possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars on their education - that they were lied to. that the "real" meaning of femininity is motherhood. that they shouldn't rest on the laurels of that education-they-paid-for but instead throw it away to kneel at a man's heel. imagine that. sweating in your godawful polyester gown (that you also had to pay for!), fresh out of 4 years of pushing yourself ever-harder: and some guy you've never met - who knows nothing about you - he reminds you this "win" is a pyrrhic one at best. you really shouldn't consider yourself that extraordinary. you're still a woman, even after years of study.
god forbid you are not a pretty woman, but if you are pretty, you must be dumb. god forbid you are not ablebodied or white or cis or straight or good at swallowing. you must be beneath a man, or else they are not a man. the equation for masculinity seems to just be: that which is not a woman or womanly (god forbid). anything "feminine" is thereby anathema. to engage in "feminine" things such as therapy, getting a hug from a friend, or crying - it is giving up ones manhood. therefore women need to be put in their place to ensure that masculinity is protected.
this is something i have struggled to explain to terfs - they are not doing the work of feminism, but rather the patriarchy. by asserting that women and men must be (on some secret level) oppositional and in conflict, they also assume that being a woman is akin to being another species. but bigotry does not stem from observational truths or clarity - that is what makes it bigotry. there was nothing in my childhood that made me fundamentally different from my brother. we are treated differently nonetheless. to assert there is some biological drive that enforces my gender role is to assert that women have a gendered role. men do not see women as equal to them not because of biological reality - but instead because the core tenant of the patriarchy is that women aren't full, realized people.
we are told from a very young age to excuse misbehavior as a single man's choice - not all men. it is not all men, just that one guy. all women are gold-digging bitches who belong in the kitchen - but if a man is mean, bigoted, or violent to you, it's just that particular guy, and that means nothing about men-as-a-whole. it is only one guy who got mad when you gently rejected him. it is only one guy who warns her this trophy is heavy, are you sure you can hold it? it is only one guy who smashes her face into the cake. it is only one guy talking into a mic about hating our bodily autonomy.
i have just found that they often wait until the moment we actually seem to be upstaging them. you sit in a meeting where you're presenting your own findings and he says get me a coffee? or you run to the end of the marathon and are about to finish first and he pushes your kids out in front of you. you win the chess game and they make some comment akin to well, you're ugly away. we can be the billionaire and get the dream life and finally fucking do it and yet! still! they have this strange, visceral urge to say well actually, if you think you're so great -
it's not one just one guy. it's one in eight.
#posting my drafts#i want to stress im a taylor swift enjoyer. sorry.#also if someone wants to venmo me for the radfem hate i get daily i need like 60 bucks#someone stole my taylor swift official merch quarter zip :(#the point im specifically making in the tswift paragraphs i hope is clear which is like.#taylor is not threatening their ideas of masculinity or femininity. she is incredibly milquetoast. i mean i love her#but there's nothing about her that challenges the status quo. EXCEPT for her success.#and that's what pisses so many men off: the success.#so if THE VISION of white heteropatriarchy STILL is being treated this way.....#what do you think is happening to minority populations??#i just feel like be annoyed w/her about real things but being weird about her dating someone is like#soooooooooooooooooooooo fucking annoying. like ya know????#[said with the knowledge i need you to be soooo normal about how you interpret this entire piece and also these tags]

#spinda#AAAHHHH YES!!! our belovèd spinda. from their café!!! probably one of my favorite minor characters from pmd sky#whom i don't even think was in the original explorers games. i think spinda's café was exclusive to sky. if i'm remembering correct#ly. or maybe that was shaymin village. i know shaymin village was for sure but maybe it was just that and not both of them. either way#have a delicious drink and allow the flower of conversation to bloom! i could quote spinda all day. he had “hopes and dreams” before toby#ever did. THAT'S ALSO like i had no idea what spinda's pronouns were. i kept trying to figure it out because i talked about him quite a lot‚#but no one in game ever talked about him. to mention his pronouns? turns out. there's ONE line of dialogue where the post office fucker in#shaymin village mentions him and calls him a he. i think that's the only time spinda is referred to in the third person with a pronoun#i believe it's when they're talking about like. how you can send gifts or whatever and pick up the characters' responses at spinda's café#which is still a really fucking good feature. of any video game. SEE WHAT I MEAN spinda and their café is just an incredibly good Thing#it's to the point where my home wifi network is named “Spinda's Café Wi-Fi” because i love it so much. so if you're ever runnin around#and you see a wifi network by that name… it might be me! you never know! or… it could be the real deal. the real spinda's café is somewhere#nearby…! ugh. i wish. i would go there immediately#not even to mention all the other shit about this pokémon that's really good. like that they never walk in straight lines or whatever#their little dance. it's just. huUGHKLJKAHJVDHJHDAJSVGD i love spinda. a nice pick-me-up after the underwhelmingness that was grumpig#shake it this way… shake it that way… and stir it all around… and it's done!

i'll be honest, i truly do not understand when people get all up in arms whenever anyone involved with spn describes cas's love for dean as beyond the human understanding of love, as if there haven't been posts made on here for years by fans literally describing cas's love for dean / destiel's love as akin to worship, a powerful force greater than god, cosmic, all encompassing, profound, etc etc. i thought the outrage was silly when jensen expressed the idea of cas's love being more than romantic back in denver con 2021 and i think it's silly now with these bedlund tweets. not to mention being more than and beyond something imo means it encompasses the romantic AND more. it's romantic, it's platonic, it's cosmic, it's worship, it's everything. and i think that's beautiful. and yes, it's exactly what their love is. a huge profound force that changed the narrative, that wasn't meant to be there, that kept breaking through anyway.
and i understand what people are saying about this language being used for a queer ship etc etc, but like, there's nothing inherently wrong or negating their love in saying that it's a greater love. if anything i think it's saying, hey, see these two? yea their love is bigger than what we can even comprehend. idk i'm just going to continue to take these statements in good faith. and also, until the reboot happens, they can't really say more about destiel beyond the bounds of the confession. jensen, bedlund, misha, etc can't speak to dean's feelings, for instance, or confirm anything one way or another, because if those feelings are a major plot point to be explored and acknowledged in the continuation then to speak about them now with any kind of definitive statement would be spoiling / jumping the gun, and it's not their place to make those statements yet, if we are indeed going to see more of dean and cas's story in the future (which i mean, at this point based on their statements about the reboot it's really a When not If situation).
#my two cents✌#personally i love their profound bond and cosmic out of this world love#yes it can also be incredibly human. but i also think there is inherently a greater aspect to it simply bc it IS a supernatural show#and one half of the couple is a supernatural being. and also. their story itself is profound and great and god-defying#i also think how being an angel intersects with cas's love is an interesting concept to explore as a storyteller.#even as human of an angel as he is by the end of the show he still spent a millennia as one and that's still a part of who he is#and it will influence his perception on love and how he feels it. how for an angel these feelings might be heightened or different#and that doesn't make those feelings not romantic or queer. but the angelic contexts of cas's love is interesting !!!#it's neat and fun to think abt !!!!#i also think the reason other angel / human couples don't get spoken about as such is just. well. they're minor characters#and their stories are different.#destiel and their entire journey together is inherently a very profound story imo that the other couples just don't compare to#vic.txt#profound bond#fandom

When you decide to spend the Christmas holidays with your uhh enemy by travelling to her time. Cometh the hour, cometh the man 🤠
Short comic inspired by a segment of Chapter 42 of Somewhere in Time by Serpent in Red (@serpentinred) (PLEASE mind the preliminary notes regarding the fic (which is in Chapter 1), AND the author’s notes which top and tail this specific chapter cuz it is NOT a continuation of the main plot). There’s just something wholesome and grin-inducing about Chapter 42 that makes my heart grow two sizes, and the enemies-to-lovers tone remains an exquisite constant throughout the fic, so if that’s your thing, you know what to do!
I also owe a massive thanks to Nerys Dax (@nerysdax) for kindly looking over the panels and providing helpful comments and feedback. I really appreciated this since it was important to me from the outset that whatever is sketched out here remains as close to the author's story as possible, and I couldn't have confidently put this forward without Nerys's input.
Lastly, if it wasn't already obvious - please go read the fic lol
#Hermione was actually silently devastated at the absence of a certain dark wizard in a preceding scene and I#wish I was skilled enough to start the panels there cuz it’s such a bittersweet moment for her to still try enjoy the holidays despite that#tomione#tom riddle#hermione granger#harry potter#my art#There are minor deviations from the fic i.e. Hermione's internal dialogue (which has been paraphrased) and err clothing choices lol#The notion of having Tom go see Hermione in the future (likely 90s?) is incredibly appealing 👀#and uh since this is my first comic there are a LOT of mistakes. Hermione's hair goes thru its own character arc here haha

Thomas Levin as David in 'Those who kill,' (2011).
This one is literally dad!Yassen doing the school run and picking Alex up from school.
(Yes, he is going to try and kill this little blonde boy bc he's jealous that their crime daddy who took him away from Russia to be educated prefers the kid, but doesn't that just make it even more Yassen coded?)
#the subtitles were already on the only video I could get of this show and I couldn't take them off (but I think they are fine ac)#If I could have taken them off though I might have done have my own only with (tbh. incredibly minor mostly just names) edits to the script#to make this fit into my Ian/Yassen coparenting au#like a gif fic?#I think I maybe could have done it with shapes/stickers but just slapping 'YASSEN' over 'David' looked sloppy in my attempts#alex rider#gahhh I CAN'T STOP MAKING GIFS#I'm gripped by GIF FEVER BABY#never really used the 'drafts' feature before. now the drafts are brimming as I struggle to hold back the deluge.#they're all of thomas levins face. Please tell me about Lukas.
Sincerely, a poor soul who is obsessed with Milgram but knows very little about Fire Emblem.
Lukas is my beloved character of all time :) Comfort character to rival all comfort characters :) He’s just like me fr :) He’s so healing to watch heal :)
He’s from Fire Emblem Echoes, and for a good portion of the game he’s that mentor/tutorial character who helps you/the protagonist through the new world you’re thrown into. The thing was, they put together an incredibly complex asexual, neurodivergent guy who’s not really in it for the fighting (but is damned good at it anyway). They gave him the sweetest and saddest smile possible. They gave him the most relaxing voice you could imagine. They gave him two of the wackiest and complimentary friends. How could I not fall in love?
Basically, he reveals that he’s not involved in this whole war because he wanted to be – his father and brother conspired to send him away to fight for their own gain, not really caring if he lived or died. He took on the new life with just as much motivation as if he chose it himself, though. He’s not here for any dreams of glory or violence, he just wants to help the new friends he’s made ;-; He has a really big heart, but he’s not afraid to make the tough call and commit war crimes. He’s gentle to the child soldier protagonists, but is the first person to trust them and allow them into the army.
Fire Emblem is notorious for its fanservice, which is why I will forever be Insane over his support conversation with one of those friends I mentioned. He describes his struggles with romance and desire, perfectly describing an asexual experience. His friend, Python, responds with so much kindness. It’s done with a lot of tact and respect, and was one of the final pieces to my own acceptance of my asexuality.
Less intended, but he talks about his struggles with emotions that comes off as low-empathy neurodivergence, or a form of Alexithymia. He doesn’t feel strong emotions most of the time, then occasionally gets swept up in them and lashes out. (Sorry for all the tmi but) this is also something I struggle with. Though I come off overly excited online, I’ve dealt with the same coldness/heartless accusations he has. His writing and voice acting really drive it home, and it’s wonderful to see. Once again, he’s treated with immense respect for this trait. He feels self-conscious about it, but the cast sees that as a strength of his.
His relationship with the other two knights is super fun! I could go on separate rants about Python and Forsyth, but just know they are equally perfect. They all compliment one another so well, and hype each other up in such lovely ways. They've even got a fun RGB color scheme going on :3
OKAY I AM CUTTING MYSELF OFF because I could go on forever about him 😂 He holds such a special place in my heart -- it's silly, but thank you sm for asking :’) And, since you mentioned Milgram, this reminded me of a super goofy comparison to Yuno I made as one of my first Milgram posts, as well as my wips of the Fuuta-Lukas outfit swap I need to finish...
#fe echoes#fe lukas#the only other character that beats him out with comfort/relatability is shigeo kageyama lol#i realize i didnt really talk about fire emblem itself asdfsd oops#its a pretty basic fantasy turn based game#im really bad at the strategy LMAO im just here for the vibes#and echoes has Incredible vibes 👏#the story - the characters - the voice acting - the soundtrack!!!#the writing certainly has its issues but overall its a gorgeous game#and lukas is the most gorgeous of them all 😤😤😤#everything about his writing was so beautifully done#and most of the fans that write him do so very lovingly#the echoes fandom is pretty small -- the game wasnt huge and its like 8 years past its prime now#and this trio is fairly minor when looking at protagonists#but!! there are a few of us still hangin around :')#he was on my mind for a good 4 years straight before milgram took over.....#ahh thanks pal!!#rose posts#ask

The new Velma show seems to neatly fall into this trend of tv shows (paramount heathers, leaked powerpuff girls script) that want to seem progressive by having a diverse cast, while simultaneously wanting to preserve that same edgy, punch-down comedy style found in 'centrist' or conservative media. They want the praise for having female, queer, and characters of colour while still retaining an audience made up of mainly edgy white men laughing at how ridiculous ‘the minorities’ are behaving. It’s a punch-down comedy wolf in progressive sheep clothing.
The fundamental flaw in this logic is that show runners assume the audience that would enjoy this humour will see past that supposedly progressive façade… and that often doesn’t happen. A lot of these specific edgy types see diversity as a red flag and immediately presume some type of agenda. It’s almost like seeing a minority participate in the joke (even though they’re still very much the punchline) zaps all the humour out of it or they can’t understand that the joke is still for them if it isn’t said by someone that looks exactly like them. And because they (especially, but not only, cishet white men) recognise all the jokes from things they like, but don’t find them funny anymore, the only reasonable explanation they have is that diversity is bad and makes it unfunny, instead of realising their inherent inability to recognise and relate to any character that isn’t a white man.
Meanwhile, an audience that would appreciate a diverse cast does recognise the comedy for what it is: cheap jokes made at their expense. At most there are occasional jabs thrown in at the white and/or male characters which often don’t relate to these identities in any fundamental or even realistic way. So you have this show that constantly uses it’s minority characters as punchlines and only includes vaguely progressive, but ultimately pretty universally accepted, messaging hoping progressive audiences will be enamoured with the occasional ‘girlboss moment™️’, while not noticing that vast amounts of regressive ideals.
In the end neither audience feels appealed to and the show is a massive failure. While it might be satisfying to see that these conservative audiences are too blinded by, let’s be honest here, identity politics to recognise something that is clearly made for them, ultimately all that is remembered is that ‘the comedy show featuring a lot of diversity’ failed. And it becomes harder for people who actually want to make media with, and especially for, minorities have a harder time getting any funding. Shows like these are a lose lose situation when it comes to furthering diversity in the media landscape and it’s increasingly frustrating to see this happen again and again.
#most of the criticism I’ve seen so far is hinging on the expectation that this show would be progressive because of the representation#but if you see it as just another family guy copycat you can see all the ‘weirdly problematic stuff’ not as flaws but part of the design#meanwhile most of the criticism coming from conservatives is ‘wokeness ruined scooby doo’#we can’t assume just because something features minorities that it is for those minorities#especially with the rise of anti-intellectualism and ‘the curtains are just blue’ mentality this seems to happen more and more#they also often feature the surface acceptance of women queer people and poc while still being very blatantly bigoted towards other groups#many of which are discriminated against as well but their activism efforts are not as widely recognised#so you might not have as much blatant racism and sexism but incredible amounts of ableism and fatphobia#meanwhile the more obvious bigotry is either subtler or deflected by characters pointing it out like that erases the joke#this isn’t even touching on how all of these shows also wildly misconstrue the purpose of the media they are adapting#scooby doo#hbo velma#velma 2023#paramount heathers

i love spoilers sm and im also terrified of watching the substance, would u mind describing what monstro elizasue looks like?? im super curious I've only heard vague details!!
trying to answer this ask im thinking you've probably only heard vague details bcus monstro is pretty hard to accurately describe lmao but I'll try!
warning to anyone who doesn't love spoilers as much as anon my response totally spoils the last like ~20 mins of the movie
so there's a ton of extra eyes & random body parts where they don't belong like an arm sticking out of her back & multiple breasts. the original elisabeth's face is sticking out of the back of one of her shoulders with the mouth permanently open making this kind of choking noise. there's a lot of extra bulky fleshy bits with these kind of dark veins everywhere. she has just a few sparse strands of hair that we see her attempt to curl while getting ready for the new years show, & no ears so she just jams the backs of some earrings into the flesh on the sides of her head during that same scene. there's some weird kind of placenta thing that drags on the ground behind her when she walks & also this weird.. mouth? orifice? on her head that gives birth to a boob on an umbilical cord while she's on stage which I thought was one of the best parts of any of the monstro scenes lmao like "you want tits right? here's some fucking tits for you" absolutely incredible. also theres a kind of transformation after someone bashes her head in only another more fucked up head to grow out, and after the massive bloodbath when her arm gets ripped off her body basically collapses into bits on the sidewalk & elisabeth's face on what used to be the shoulder is just on the back of this fleshy blob that crawls off like some kind of fucked up sea creature or something
throwing this into the tags so others can chime in bcus I know there's gotta be things I'm forgetting to mention
#i kinda mentioned this after my first watch but my second watch just solidified my opinion im def in the minority but i still am just not#sold on the monstro design. wish it resembled first & foremost an amalgamation of elisabeth & sue that was ALSO super fucked up but i feel#like its primarily just weird & fucked up and the blending together is really secondary in the design#but mostly i just didnt love the prosthetics esp when compared to all the other prosthetics in the film which were SO incredible?? like in#particular for the elisabeth ive seen coralie refer to as gollum. amazing makeup that felt SO real & alive whereas monstro to me had that#this looks like a prosthetic/sculpture more than something Alive look. like i dont HATE monstro i just had extremely probably unreasonably#high standards by the time we got to monstro's reveal bcus id gone in w high standards that had been nothing but exceeded up to that point#anyways!#the substance#anon#ask

Consider Yelan's facial expression to be my own in reaction to opinions shared on both X and Tumblr, and I guess I'm in the minority of the 'loud ones', but I'm pretty excited for Natlan since that trailer, actually. The previous teasers left me a little 'eh', but this definitely got my hopes back up, and I'm back in the right spirits for it (and ready to catch some Pokémon.)
Now I wouldn't be me if I didn't touch on the salt that I've seen scattered across the dash, so here I go. Listen, I read people's objections and I see what you're all aiming at, but in that light want to note that it's often incredibly easy to point fingers (arguably too much so) at others while being, quite honestly, hopefully rather aware that many of our own countries, cultures, and its populations across the board (and no, I'm not excluding anyone here) would likely be just as easily guilty as MHY is with these things. And no, I'm not blindly defending them, but I also won't point fingers at only one without pointing them everywhere else as well, including those you might think would 'never do such things', because I'm absolutely certain that they would. /continues on in the tags.
#ooc. [ don't try to make it logical or edit your soul according to the fashion. rather; follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly. ]#salt. [ that breathing sensation? remember it. ]#we all wear biased lenses. and no-- 'informing yourself through social media' doesn't make you aware of how cultures work/look.#people informing themselves through social media is the /worst trend/ that the 2000/2010s have ever brought us. it's insane.#i'm sorry i'm also very tired of people deciding who are minorities and when. and who is allowed to 'get away with things' and who aren't.#and who is guilty and who isn't. and how “everyone is supposed to do everything right” when most people don't even know...#how the culture of their neighboring country genuinely looks outside of simple stereotypes (and usually only bad ones).#we also need to ultimately realize that mhy is chinese. it has (uniquely) gotten a lot of praise for its presentation of japanese culture.#(from what i hear) which is incredibly rare for a chinese company (and others). and then...#it's doing cultures further away from its own less justice. it didn't exactly do mondstadt great. it played into stereotypes.#and then combined them from multiple cultures. same with fontaine. it played into stereotypes /yet again/ in the same way the west does it.#and not just stereotypes from one country and culture. but /several/. but do most people who aren't familiar with those cultures know this?#no. they don't. and why would they? look at even just the west. europe and north america think that they're similar. /they are so not/.#if WE can't/won't even get it right. and yet we pretend to every damned day; why are we condemning a country halfway across the globe?#and also no-- i don't think latam or africa would portray china properly. or france. or the states.#... but you know what all this'll still do? cause people to look up and go 'hey this is so cool-- i want to know the inspiration'.#and people will still look into it. and people will learn.#and people will be drawn to them in life outside of their homes. or at least the ones who want to touch grass. and maybe even foreign grass#sanity knows i've looked infinitely more into chinese culture and customs because of liyue than ever before. with a much higher...#interest than i've ever admittedly had in regards to china. /ever/. just like i've had other games do the same for other cultures...#way across the globe.
