Barbatos outside of the main story: I have only ever let Diavolo even remotely close to me, and he's the most important person in my life who I am completely devoted to... but I love MC and they are becoming an equal and comparable presence in my life. yall dont wanna see the rant i just went on trying to math out if Clarisse and Silena = Achilles and Patroclus, then does the Battle for Manhattan in TLO = the Trojan War, and in which case who’s who. is the Titan Army the Trojans? or is Olympus the Trojans because they’re defending Olympus (i.e. Trojans defending Troy)? If Percy is also Achilles, kinda, cause curse of Achilles, what’s everybody’s roles then? What do we do with two Achilles? is Ethan Nakamura Hector? Does Luke = Paris? (in which case Hermes = Priam? which actually works really well cause Hermes did aid Priam in the Trojan war). or is Luke... Helen? Or is Luke just straight up the Trojan Horse?

Also side-tangent, if Clarisse and Silena are Achilles and Patroclus, we can make some guesses for who Chris Rodriguez vaguely is analogous to, but not really Charles Beckendorf? at least purely in terms of love interests. Which is interesting. Again: who’s who. I simply must know.

Also, another person really liked the anime (specifically 5Ds) so now we're writing with one another and I don't think I've done anything harder than trying to act normal and allistic about Yugioh. Someone at Locals also said they liked how 'excited' I was about it, and I know it probably wasn't even meant in a mean way but I still felt a bit bad cause I don't even know how to be normal!!!!!

Okay three episodes in and if the first episode didn't exist I would honestly have nothing to complain about. This show is awesome and hilarious and baffling but it still kinda feels fucked when I remember the first episode and it's like, oh wait right he's a total scumbag. How scummy he is is extremely downplayed after that to the point its pretty much an afterthought and easily forgettable, but man that first episode. And it being 48 minutes long, like, was that a pilot episode??? Cuz that shit was extreme and now the issues with him are like, practically nonexistent. And I feel like you don't even need the first episode either. Just cram the scenes where he mentions his backstory in the second episode and everything would flow just fine.

8th Gym - The Under Colosseum: Colosseum Leader Saya, Orre's Desert Rose

Glimmora ♀ - Adenium: Named after the poisonous desert rose, Adenium is a new addition to Saya's team to fill the role left behind by Agave after moving him to her Elite Four team. Adenium is as lethal as the flower she's named after, dropping toxic spikes whenever she's hit. Adenium is always Saya's lead, as she can be set up nicely with Mojave's Sand Stream and gaining a special defensive boost in the sandstorm weather effect. The poison she inflicts from her ability, and other poison moves, whittle down her opponents.

Tyranitar ♂ - Mojave: One of Saya's oldest team members, and a pokemon originally reared by her late grandfather. The massive Tyranitar acted as a nanny for Saya in her childhood, shadowing her in the most dangerous parts of The Under to ensure no harm would come to her. Together with Adenium, he is the first pokemon she sends out in these battles thanks to his Sand Stream, which whips up a fierce sandstorm. This combo is excellent at whittling away her foes, as the damage from Adenium's poison and Mojave's sandstorm compounds heavily. With the sandstorm bolstering Mojave's special defense, he and Adenium make an excellent pair for stalling and letting the elements take their foes down.

Flygon ♀ - Sahara: Another one of her late grandfather's pokemon. They had a rocky start, with Sahara often snapping at Saya and not trusting her. Sahara sustained an injury to her wing during a Colosseum battle ages ago due to an Ice Fang, but make no mistake, this injury does not inhibit her battle ability. Sahara is a prideful pokemon, much like her trainer, and is the glass cannon of the team. She cleans up any remaining foes should either Adenium or Mojave fall with her quick speed and hard hitting attacks.

Rhyperior ♂ - Mesquite: Like Sahara, Mesquite wasn't keen on trusting Saya. Though he wasn't outright snappy towards her like Sahara, he would make his warnings clear towards her to leave him alone. It wasn't until they started engaging in Colosseum battles that he began to trust her, even taking a hit for her and losing an eye after an Earthquake shook metal debris loose from above. If Sahara is the glass cannon, Mesquite is the hard-hitting tank. He is slow, almost painfully slow, but when he hits, he hits like a freight train. His ability only adds to his bulk, and even moves that are super-effective against him seem to impede him very little.

2nd Member of Orre's Elite Four (STEEL): Elite Four Saya, Orre's Iron Rose

Aggron ♂ - Agave: The last of Saya's late grandfather's pokemon, and another 'mon that has been by her side since she was a child. Like Mojave, Agave was always protective over her. He earned his claim to fame in the Colosseum battles Saya engaged in, being a crowd favorite due to his ability to just take hit after hit without falling. His defensive bulk lets him set up Stealth Rocks, impeding her foe's ability to readily switch out lest their 'mons incur needless damage. He, along with Gyro, are the first two Saya leads with in her battles.

Perrserker ♂ - Gyro: Gyro is a newer addition to Saya's team, and is a supportive teammate. He bolsters her team's steel moves with his Steely Spirit. Saya likes to lead with him using Fake Out for flinches, giving Agave more time to set up Stealth Rock and limiting the damage output of her foes for a round. Many stat lowering moves are utilized with him, making Gyro a very frustrating 'mon to deal with.

Steelix ♂ - Tombstone: Saya caught Tombstone deep in Orre's mines, after making a trek down into the depths to scatter some of her grandfather's ashes. Tombstone is absolutely massive, towering nearly to the ceiling in Saya's battle chambers. Like Agave, Tombstone is incredibly tanky and boasts an incredibly high defense. He is very, very slow, however. With his ability, he can use damaging moves without inflicting damage upon himself which only adds to how difficult it can be to take him down.

Scizor ♀ - Thistle: The glass cannon of Saya's Elite Four team. Thistle is quick, and she hits hard. She dishes out the most damage she possibly can before she falls. In dire moments, Thistle's ability powers up her bug-type moves. X-Scissor becomes an incredibly dangerous move with her high attack, and trying to take her out in one go is highly advised.

Revavroom ♀ - Solenoid: The quickest member of Saya's Elite Four team by far. Solenoid is a menace on the battlefield, inflicting poison on her foes and tanking super-effective moves with her Filter ability. Magnet Rise helps save her against the doubly effective ground-type moves for a while, and Shift Gears only increases her speed further. Solenoid is a physical attacker, utilizing her physical moves to deliver devastating blows.

Kingambit ♂ - Musashi: Saya's ace, and the final pokemon she will use when backed into a corner. Musashi's ability is capable of producing the nastiest of reverse sweeps, even when Saya's situation appears to be dire. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in his brutal attack. Sucker Punch remedies the issue of speed when attacking first, and Kowtow Cleave is the end all move in his arsenal. Even if all of Saya's other pokemon are defeated, when Musashi comes out, you have already lost.
