maybe it's space curating bc i definitely see the mike side as the higher volume/frequency, i mean most times theres discourse it's bc someone poking at the will preference. like with the polls anons this week that only happened bc an anon said bratty btm mike was obvious and "at most" btm leaning switch, but stating it as fact not opinion. all preferences are opinion for the reasons you said, we only see them until 14 and havent seen their sex life. usually anything else said is just response to the first rudeness, or thats what i see. theres an acc on here who used to comment on btm will fics calling for btm mike instead which i think is very rude for fandom. theres accs on here blatantly posting on the public dash how people who don't prefer subby btm mike are crazy and even not as smart for not seeing it. how is that not rude? then the multiple times spicy polls anons have been rude instead of just sending asks about their preference for mike and making the experience better for themselves. did you see the polls anon that said something and added "anyway btm mike >>>" months ago? i dont think i've seen that from a btm will? i tried really hard to think if i had! but it's those kinds of behavior we dont need amongst us bc no one is better. i follow lots of spicy bylers and havent seen that from btm will or switch bylers, they just post about their preference. i've made moots with people who came from twitter who said it would happen there too, they'd respond to rudeness for not "getting" sub mike and suddenly are the bad guys. so they got tired by the behavior and stopped being active. maybe your dash is more peaceful but i dont see will sides of things saying things until prompted. or with every right to offer an opinion to what was said bc this is a public space. i'm surprised you've seen more for the opposing side? tbh you will have people who are extra who are rude in every side of a ship preference but the 'frequency' to me has been the mike side. i was annoyed when i saw the bratty anon on spicy polls bc i knew it was going to start more annoying discourse that means nothing. how are they shocked people don't share the same preference? thats normal in fandom. you'd have to be new to fandoms to be shocked

anon I unfortunately think this is just a case of you not seeing the rudeness on the other side because you agree with the stance. especially with the sentiment of people not being as smart for not seeing it - that’s like, a pretty pervasive topic in the sfw side of our fandom as far as will goes.

it could definitely be that i just don’t follow or see posts like that, though i do follow some really kind people with bottom mike prefs. i’ll take your word for it, but i guess i’d say that even the “anyway bottom mike >” posts come across as tongue in cheek, and again, isn’t it okay to share preferences? it’s a little brash, sure, but it shouldn’t be shocking for people to want to express these prefs in the tag, like you said.

i’m saying all this with a pretty clear preference for bottom will, too, so it’s always a little surprising to me that others don’t see it because it’s not like i’m biased. but it’s just always felt obvious to me that bottom mike fans are the minority in the fandom - think about the reason you haven’t seen any of the asks of similar nature for bottom will in spicybylerpolls. there’s no need for it lmao - and it just takes one annoying comment, likely from an anon or someone not active in the fandom (that the op probably made without even thinking) to get 10 people to come to it’s defense with think pieces galore about the canon validity. sure, they have every right to comment on what was said but there shouldn’t be such a big need for defense, i guess?

have you thought about the possibility that theyre likely just experiencing fandom a little differently than you and (other than the ao3 comment thing) are not intending to invalidate you or be rude to you?

even with the recent anon sharing how surprised they were to find that more people didn’t see mike as a bottom, i get how it could come across as invalidating if they weren’t coming from a place of clearly knowing theyre in the minority of opinions. imagine someone saying that around the dinner table with friends. its funny, its a differing take, sure its a little over confident but it’s not rude to anyone - even with an opposing outlook myself i think it sparks fun conversation when someone else is shocked theyre the odd one out. i’m more curious than offended. i may be naive and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but this is often the tone i perceive when i see pro bottom mike posts. i think they’re pretty aware of what the common opinion is.

this is similar to how i feel when i see “where are the bottom mike fics/poll questions/etc? i’m tired of bottom will” again, same situation, if a friend said this in a group of bottom will fans, it doesn’t come across to me as being actually upset and wanting to silence us, it’s just: silly. there’s that surprise of “am i really the only one who didn’t go crazy over [insert xyz thing that mike did in the show], where are my people?” and i think they’re entitled to do so. just as people with our preference are over things we saw in the show. bottom will fans already have their people, it was the default when the polls started. i guess thats all i’m saying.

from my now 1.5 years on the nsfw side, it seems like there’s always going to be an assumption from someone that people sharing opinions about a more subby mike are being spiteful, rude, or trying to be divisive.

you say no one is better, but seem to have a very low tolerance for posts about bottom mike. having the preference is okay, but only if they come with the perfect angelic attitude about it. i’d say we don’t hold the same standard for bottom will posters - and it makes sense that you’re not gonna perceive a (pretty consistent) negative, superior attitude if you’re nodding along to the sentiment.

for WIP Wednesday a little snippet from my Undercover Carlos fic (that I will try to update soon - life has just been A LOT lately) thanks for the tag @meditating-honey-badger

“Guys, come here we have news.” TK called out as he and Carlos walked into the firehouse kitchen area.

“What’s up?” Judd asked, not bothering to get up from his seat but putting his newspaper down nonetheless.

“Did you finally get Carlos pregnant?” Nancy asked and everyone laughed.

“No, but we’ll keep trying.”

“If it’s a girl you should name her after me. I suffer the most riding with you all day.”

“Oh in that case, Lexi is a great name too.” Mitchell added.

Nancy turned to look at her.

“What? I have to put up with the other one all day.”

“That’s fair. But should it be Lexi Nancy or Nancy Lexi?” Nancy wondered before turning back to Carlos and TK. “You should just have twins guys.”

“Yeah, can we stop talking about this now?” Carlos said, trying to get the conversation back on track. “We have news.”

“So y’all keep saying. Go on, out with it.” Judd pushed.

“We’re getting married!” TK announced happily.

“That’s your news?” Marjan asked, the group looking at each other wondering if they were being pranked.

“Yes, we’re getting married in 8 weeks!” Carlos explained.

“Eight weeks? What happened to 18 months?”

“They had a cancellation and gave us first refusal for the spot.”

“And we took it.” TK told them. “You’ll all get your official invitation by the end of the week but we wanted to tell you right away.”

“I’m happy for you guys.” Nancy said, walking up to them and hugging them both. “But Carlos please tell him to quit his diet because he gets hangry and if I have to ride with him being like that for another eight weeks, your groom is going to have a black eye in the wedding pictures.”

“Diet? What diet?” Carlos asked, looking at TK. “Babe you’re perfect the way you are, you don’t need to diet.”

“It’s not a diet.” TK rolled his eyes. “I was just… trying to eat more healthily. Less carbs and sugar, more fruit and vegetables.”

“Well stop.” Nancy told him and went back to her own lunch.

All of their friends took turns to congratulate them again and indulged them in a lunch hour of wedding planning.

“Has anyone seen my dad?” TK asked after a while. “We should tell him about the change of plan.”

“He took the afternoon off. Left me in charge.” Judd told him. “He said something about an appointment.”

“Appointment? What kind of appointment? Doctor? Dentist?”

“I don’t know, all he said was appointment.”

TK frowned and grabbed his phone and dialled Owen’s number.

“Voicemail.”

“That makes sense… if he’s at an appointment…” Carlos tried. “I’m sure he’s fine. Try not to worry.”

“Yeah… yeah you’re right. He’ll tell me if it’s something serious.” TK said, trying to convince himself.

“Carlos, we have to get going… Our lunch break is almost over.” Lexi reminded him, face apologetic.

“Right. Yeah. Of course.” Carlos turned to TK and kissed him. “See you at home?”

“I have your car, I’ll pick you up after my shift. I finish first.”

“Ok, just come inside. It’s Mackie working the front desk today, he likes you, he’ll let you go through to my desk.”

TK nodded in reply and tilted his head up for another kiss.

“Be safe out there ok? I need you in one piece.”

“I will, I promise.”

this is a genuine question. i am fully in favor of ao3 and the discourse around it makes my head hurt. but the argument that ao3 should add a warning for racism always felt like a good one to me. as much as i love the site and think antis are stupid thats the one point they have that I've never found a single good argument against, i feel like we should agree with them on that one honestly 😭

Part of the disagreement has to do with how warnings actually work vs. how people imagine they work.

How AO3 "archive warnings" are often seen:

Top most important warnings that we absolutely have to have for trigger reasons. These are the things we think are most serious.

What AO3 archive warnings actually are:

A short list of things that are very common, yes, but more important, that are highly enforceable. That's why 'dubcon', which is almost as requested as 'noncon' is not an archive warning but only an additional tag.

Archive warning = the abuse committee fields cases involving this tag, not "this is the most important warning".

However, I do agree that site structure shows our values. I have mixed feelings about adding this warning as a PR thing.

What the warning is supposed to do:

Racists often don't know they're racist and/or are malicious, so they won't add it themselves, but other fans can report a racist fic, and the Abuse committee will add the warning.

What will actually happen:

A lot of people will grudge-report each other's fics. The Abuse committee, which has been chronically understaffed for the entirety of AO3's history will get so backed up they take a year to rule on cases. Either a bunch of POC are forced to look at racism all day for no pay, or a bunch of white people are ruling on cases, also for no pay.

Most cases will be Klance fans reporting Sheith fics for existing, or the equivalent.

Many cases will be reporting POC who are exploring issues highly personal to them and either disagree with the reporter on the uses of art or who just aren't very good writers and failed at what they were attempting to convey. Nonwhite fans and fics centering nonwhite characters will be held to a higher standard, while fics about two white guys that ignore that nonwhite people even exist will get a pass unless they use slurs or something.

Now, I'm sure people will assume that's a strawman, but as someone who many years ago helmed the Abuse committee and who has lived through decades of fandom wank, I can tell you that any rule where you can report people to site management will be misused constantly, egregiously, and viciously.

AO3 has enough trouble handling harassment cases right now. Adding a whole other set of content policing, especially content policing that is relatively more ambiguous and that requires more cultural knowledge than "Does this story contain major character death" is a mess from a logistical standpoint. If and when OTW can pay its Abuse staffers and have like 10x the number they have now, I may feel differently. We are not close to that day.

CNTW:

The other problem is that unless this warning functions radically differently from how AO3 does now, people will just use CNTW as an ass-covering measure. If it is exempted from CNTW, that creates a whole other set of issues in terms of confidence in the archive living up to its mission.

Basically, in the form this warning is likely to take, it won't actually serve to label racist fic or make it more avoidable, so adding it would be a PR move.

Pros to adding it as a PR thing:

It would mean OTW taking a public anti-racist stance.

Cons to adding it as a PR thing:

Did you actually appreciate all those corporations with their hollow BLM emails and tweets? It was a bunch of hot air with zero useful action. One fear I've seen expressed is that OTW could add this warning and decide they'd done their part and stop there.

There are some fears that adding this tag would have a chilling effect on the participation of non-US fans, nonnative speakers of English, and fans writing nonwhite characters in general. How valid these fears are is debatable.

Regardless, there are tangible anti-racist actions OTW can take that will be far more useful, and they are taking them. These consist of building blocking features so that fans can avoid content or people they don't want to interact with.

Many people would like OTW to keep focusing on those features and not waste time on this largely symbolic gesture.

Bungou Stray Dogs Volume 22 cover analysis - Even More edition!

Merciless spoilers ahead. Of a sacrifice that has already been made. Of the enigmatical Book and its related colours. Of possible implied power dynamics with future consequences in the manga.

Several analysis posts have already been made, all of which are beautiful and valuable, thus I will not repeat the main ideas covered by other BSD fans. Instead, I will focus on what caught my eye and will tag & reference other posts related to the general “BSD vol. 22 cover analysis” discussion, when connected to my observations. Without further ado, welcome to the Bungou Stray Dogs All-Smiles Problem-Solving Roooooundtable*! *Note: Problem-solving efficiency may vary.

Let’s start with adding our beautiful image of reference first:

1) The red flowers and the ram skull. A sacrifice already made

Like @thecoffeelovingfreak here, I don’t believe the flowers are red camellias (I cannot identify their particular inner yellow stamens, but it could be just the artstyle’s fault). I think they are something else, either carnations, like they suggested, or a specific type of roses (Rosa William Lobb), or perhaps Pelargonium Lord Bute (symbolizing ardour), I would say. I hesitate in any case. Since I am not 100% sure what they are, I suggest we focus on what is certain: the flowers are red, which is a very common yet elegant representation of blood being spilt. For me, these flowers together with the ram skull (it is definitely a ram skull, not a bull skull, the horns tell them apart) put forth a certain idea more than other meanings carried by the ram skull symbol especially: the idea of sacrifice.

Not to mix manga fiction with actual Biblical research too much, but I want to (briefly) share why to me that part of the cover is undoubtedly suggesting the idea of sacrifice above anything else. First of all, the ram is a sacrificial animal par excellence. There is a much larger Judeo-Christian context to this – I will refer strictly to the ram, not the lamb, which is another symbol with a different discourse entirely. In the Hebrew Bible (it is described in multiple places, first instance being Exodus 25-31), God instructed prophet Moses on the construction of the tabernacle and on conducting its holy rituals (the tabernacle refers to the dwelling place of God on Earth, in Latin it was translated as tabernaculum, “tent”); these instructions were very, very specific, and the sacrifice of rams, among other animals, plays an important role in the rituals (see Exodus 29 as a starter). Now, the offerings and sacrifices were in the end given at the altar, which is the sacred place of communication between God and man, the official meeting place so to say (this stayed basically the same in Christian conception). Consider the altar as standing directly in front of God’s eyes, an idea expressed plainly through the composition of the volume’s cover (Eye of God above the ram skull).

Then, red flowers “flowing” around the ram skull can very well suggest spilt blood (so, blood that has been spilled already), therefore the flowers make the sacrifice theme more evident. Moreover, to the right, the ram skull is broken, but not because of natural decay: it appears the skull has been violently smashed with an axe with something that left a big hole in its snout (snout? is that how you refer to that anatomical part of…sheep…? English is not my native language). This is independent from the Biblical exposition from before: the ram skull could depict both 1) the violent action that caused the ram’s death, and 2) the spilt blood (which is not fresh blood anymore, if we take a step further and consider the flowers withered, as they are a pale dark red of sorts). In the end, at least for me, this imagery tells me a sacrifice has been already made, and @bergamotex’s reply on @stories-from-saint-petersburg’s post here makes me think Chuuya, the former King of Sheep, is the sacrificed one indeed. Even more, @lastlenore‘s post here used the very fitting term “infected” for the ram skull we could further describe as “corrupted” by the red flowers. If that is so, and it all alludes to vampire-infected Chuuya as Fyodor’s current new pawn, then it would be valuable to re-evaluate how we associate the red flower side with Dazai and the smashed skull side with Fyodor: perhaps, instead of hinting to their respective future condition, the sides together refer to Chuuya’s condition fully.

2) Fyodor’s mysterious card: colours of the Book and its creative powers

Unlike Dazai’s card, which clearly represents Atsushi, albeit curiously from behind (!), Fyodor’s card is very ambiguous for a handful of reasons. Firstly, since its depicted content is very abstract, we can only speculate it to be representing a person, an ocean, water, anything really, and any guess could work. Secondly, I myself am unsure if what we see is the inside of the card or its backside. Despite all the mystery surrounding it, one thing is fascinating for certain: the main colours of the card. Whatever is represented on it, its main colours are pale shades of purple and a distinct type of turquoise. These shades of purple are predominant in the overall volume 22 cover, especially on Sigma’s and Nikolai’s hair and clothes. But the specific turquoise of Fyodor’s card is present in the form of glowing droplets or reflections, as if it is made of liquid metal. This would imply creative powers in Fyodor’s hand, because it goes hand in hand with the general metaphor of metal-forging / metallurgy as an art, an action and a power specific to a “creator”, creating both animate and inanimate beings in mythological or religious settings. Not to speculate too much on this, below I will add images emphasizing the shades of turquoise present in Sigma’s eyes and hair, Nikolai’s eyes and hair, both of their clothes, and floating as droplets over Fyodor and Dazai (only Fyodor shown below). I believe all these shades have the same type of turquoise as their base colour.

As to what this could mean, I can only dream that it is related to the Book, thus deepening the link between Fyodor and the Book, or, if not the entire Book, then at least the individual page from the Book. Indeed the page that (we so far know) was used to create Sigma and the circumstances in which he lived in the Sky Casino, all of which (many speculate, me included) could have been written, in other words created, by Fyodor himself.

3) Additional remarks on the grid lines. Even more questions as a bonus

One last thing for this post: the grid reminds me of a radar, more than other things. I have no argument to expand on this, it’s just a hunch based on visual similarity between the respective grid lines. The Gogol game’s location is a well-kept secret, and Nikolai is positioned as if he is the master of said “radar space” aka a certain space he has a total map of. I have to mention @elf-osamu’s observation from here, it is excellent: as they wrote, the space itself is contained in a mirror frame, elegantly decorated with golden (Japanese oak?) leaves that are already a symbol attributed to Sigma in the manga so far. In that case, who will be more powerful in this game: 1) Nikolai surveilling the space (like an omnipotent god, hiding everything under his overcoat and even symbolically sanctifying Fyodor by putting a “saint” veil on his head, as discussed here), or 2) Sigma “embracing” all its contents? Regarding the latter, @stories-from-saint-petersburg also noted here how the golden leaves, Sigma’s plant in other words, even extend into the inner space, towards the Eye of God and the ram skull, and yes that could indeed hint towards Sigma’s possible profound influence in things of key-importance (such as the sacrifice itself, by extension Chuuya himself, in this post’s case, if that turns out to be correct). Or, on the other hand, should we take the Eye of God “literally” and immediately think of the superpowerful “Eyes of God” software Fitzgerald now owns, as @bsd-el discussed here? In that case, Fitzgerald could once again turn the tables around, his Eyes of God previously leading to Fyodor’s arrest. Oh, but would Fyodor fall for the same trick twice?

Conclusion: I love Bungou Stray Dogs.

BnHA Chapter 305: Worst Intervention Ever

Previously on BnHA: Shinomori, whose name took me an entire week to memorize, was all, “nice to meet you Deku, I’m ten feet tall, do you want to know how I died?” and without waiting for an answer explained that he kicked it from old age at forty thanks to good ol’ OFA. Deku was all “wait a minute, then how come All Might, who’s fifty-five and is definitely dyeing his gray hair, is still alive?” First and Shino were all, “we really have no fucking clue but we think it’s cuz he’s quirkless, JUST LIKE YOU!” So basically, since quirkless people don’t exactly grow on trees these days, Deku is probably going to be the last user of OFA. The chapter ended with Nana being all, “psst, Deku, about my grandson. Uh, can you kill him?” which is sure to lead to a very interesting conversation this week.

Today on BnHA: Nana And The Gang are all “so, Deku, how can we put this delicately. The thing is, we’re pretty sure that AFO really fucked my grandson up, so on the off chance you can’t save him, how would you feel about, you know... [throat slitting gesture].” Deku is all “idk you guys, I kinda feel like he’s really just a traumatized child at heart and he’s in a lot of pain and stuff and so I should try to help him.” The Vestiges are all “BUT WHAT IF YOU CAN’T” and Deku is all “BUT I WANT TO TRY, DAMMIT” and the Vestiges are all “well when you put it that way, we, uh, were just testing you, so congrats, you passed!” The chapter ends with First being all, “ANYWAY SO WHY DON’T YOU TWO SHY BOYS STANDING OVER THERE IN THE SHADOWS COME SAY HELLO” before we CUT AWAY FOR ANOTHER WEEK, goddammit.

Hey guys!!! Thanks to our lovely anon/blog historian, Soupy, we now have a recorded history!! Blog lore, my beloved. I'll try and start adding in our new things too, but to any newbies out there, come take a look :):):):)

About the lore for this blog, i cannot remember everything, but i can do something about the cursed asks lore and history, since i just scrolled all the posts in the tags!

31 Jan 2021: an anonymous send an ask asking what people actually mean when they tell a ship if "pedophilic". This start a big number of asks about real survivor and how fucked up is fandom water down the word, purity culture, and consequently story time about harassing people in fandom for purity culture.

1 Feb 2021: someone speak about how much fucked up fics helped them. This probably opened the possibility of cursed asks. The same day, someone other send an ask about a terrible person known for harassing people about the sexuality of a character. The person is called "train fucker".

2 Feb 2021: anonymous point the attention on the train fucking thing. The cursed ask tag is created.

In the following hours, always in the cursed ask tag, people discover the fandom was Death Note and the guy was apparently in real attracted to trains and planes. Hell break down, memes are created.

History is made.

One of the characters will later become protagonists of the tag already existed. PKD already was knew since the 22 Jan 2021, when they sent an ask about the color asks and you had the intuition the tags he was probably someone with a piss kink and the tag "chronicles of piss" was created.

Cursed ask history part 2:

At this moment on time,the tags is still not clearly used. One of the First post tagged as such, the 9th Feb, is an anon answering to the ear fucking conversation about micropenis, while all the other posts are not tagged. The day after PKD enter the cursed asks tag, while the others ask still stay out of it. People start sending the stories they read.

12 Feb Hagrid/Hedwig fics are discovered. Owl fucking anon appear. Someone suggest a friendship between them and mlp guy.

Also mlp pony guy is a lore being who did not appear before in the #cursed asks, but already had their history in the simpler ask tag and in the previous cancel scale period, that we could call the ancestor of #cursed ask.

The First post tagged as cancel scale is from the 2nd Jan 2021. It was an anon answering your post of the same day "alright guys scale 1-10 how screwed r u if it ao3 history and bookmarks get released".

This is the gold era of this blog lore. The philanthropist, wound fucking discourse, rpf bdsm and mlp guy (with the first ask behind paywall) appeared during the first month and a half of the year, mixing at the end with the cursed ask tag.

Cursed ask history part 2:

12 Feb Hagrid/Hedwig fics are discovered. Owl fucking anon appear. Someone suggest a friendship between them and mlp guy.

Cursed ask history part 3:

The philanthropist appeared the same day #the cancel scale started. With their iconic "i am a shameless philanthropist and so my bookmarks are public. I eat dead doves for breakfast. Come on down to the buffet y'all! You want some wound fucking? 8-yr-old omega abortion? I got you fam, watch me scramble these eggs" they left a forever sign in this blog. Still to this days asks are written to know if they are good. They obtained a 12/10 in the cancel scale.

Wound fucking discourse started, also the same day, by CB answering "is that where the wound fucking comes in??" At a ask about vivisection and medical experimentation. Discourse about what classify as a wound and how it works continued trought the day.

Rpf bdsm is thought to have beat the philanthropist with their mix of rape, underage, incest in a foursome, huge age, rpf tentacles and, mostly, someone getting turned into a pickle and his partner fucking himself with it.

This also started a string of asks about people being transformed in object used for sex.

Rpf bdsm would appear again later that day to specify the pickle fic was a rpf.

Cursed ask history part 4 (i think? Already lost the count)

Mlp guy. The one and only. Always in the terrible 2 Jan 2021, they first appeared in the tags of an answer to a marvel ask. #Hey HEY mlp guy #u know who u r #i'm afraid to look at this ask #like yeah we saw some shit tonight but this blows that outta the fuckin WATER #y'all would dead ass have to pay me to post it

Someone noticed the tags and asked about it, and a strong sexual tension between everyone and the unpublished mlp ask started. Someone ended up paying, cause the ask was later published as last post of the day and terrorized every follower of the blog. It was published as screenshot of the ask, and is not even put in the #cancel scale.

MLP guy stayed so in the apex of the cursed asks for some months, till the Pokémon ask by soupy was published the 9th may 2021, taking home a 15/10. MLP guy made a Tumblr profile, @therealmlpguy, in retiliation, and reblogged answering with a new terribly cursed fic. CB have still not voted it, so who have the worst cursed ask is still in question.

The day of #cancel scale the blog fanficmemes lost many followers, but the story was, as we know, not finished.

Cursed ask history part 5

I like to stay an half cryptid of this blog, so i will not tell my blog of origin, but i can tell you I am Soupy. Also i need to know if i am actually considered a cryptic of the blog and if i need to make a lore post about myself XD.

This is starting to get hard cause i cannot reread what i already sent, but the end of the tunnel is near.

We already told about owl fucking anon in the cursed ask tag, but their story is a bit more longer. The cursed ask was actually their big return, and they are probably one of the most proficious lore making, having also a part in the creation of the PKD legend. They should really have their own tag.

How? Well.

The 17 Jan 2021, when the big part of the cancel scale was done and the elders of the lore created, they sent an anon ask about what the cancel scale made them remember. It was a fic, red when they were ten or eleven, about someone fucking an owl while the owl was on their period. Consensual, and apparently the authors were two teen girl who write only character x owl. Their mom proofread. CB answered with their profile picture, edited so that it red "i can't believe it's gotten even worse!" Instead of "i can't believe it's not canon".

This post created, if we want to say, PKD, cause their first ask, that assigned them piss kink, was yes about the color asks (that, in case someone does not remember, was CB asking what colors people assigned to them), but had as explanation "if you keep posting stuff like the owl period whatever". So the owl fucking anon indirectly created, the 22 Jan 2021, PKD.

Owl fucking anon continued their ascension to lore of the blog.

The 12th Feb 2021 sent an ask were they were surprised someone had found Hagrid x Hedwing fics, and than sent anther 9 parts ask about the story of how they red lot of cursed shits thanks to an old tumblr blog that had the links, and how from there they found an author who only published Hagrid x Hedwing, and how that introduced them to FF smut.

(it is also discovered they are only 15, baby, please, i am noone to talk with the shits i red at the time but i hope you are ok).

They are now consacrated in the memory of the blog.

Cursed ask history part 6

Before continuing with the history of the cursed asks, is now time to finally give a small talk about PKD. We know how they originated, but how they become so famous?

Probably is the fact they appeared so many time during the last months. Being it for cancel scale, cursed asks or just normal asks, they continue to give us company with their exploration of piss kink fic. Is true they soundly negate having the kink the first months, but after lot of memes and people speaking about it, the 25 Apr 2021 they finally admitted of having the kink,and discovered it reading an a/b/o Captain America fic.

I would suggest to read all the posts, but they stopped being tagged halfway through, so is half in the specific #chronicles of piss and half in the #cursed ask

Cursed ask history part 7

The big lore is finished, and now only the later history stay.

#cancel scale posts and #cursed asks post lived side by side for some days. The owl fucking one of the 12 Feb was actually the last cursed fic published in the cancel scale post, leaving the tag only for some history reference later.

#cursed asks saw the appearence of every type of cursed possible to thought, with scat and nipple fucking between the different tags. At the start there was no specific day chosen, but later, for CB schedule reasons, Saturday was assigned as cursed ask day, and some week later it was moved to Sunday.

And here we are, today, to see what other cursed things we will bring in this world

Cursed fic History part 8

The cursed fic History have been covered, but i still think is important to talk about some of the before time tags that created the good ecosystem for the creation of #cursed ask.

The most famous is #the lube discussion.

It started the 23 Aug 2020, when CB wrote a post about FF using the word "supple" in smut without the thing being actually supple. In the tag, they added #also #that does Not work as lube.

Some anon asked what was being used as lube, that was answered with "one was peanut butter. I will not discuss the other". This started the bug lube discussion, were everyone talked about what they continingly see used as lube when it cannot be used as lube.

Between the classics soap and blood, we see some more daring one as mud, yogurt, aloe vera, years, milk, hot sauce and the more intersting, cannoli (have no idea if they are talking about the cream you put in cannoli or some american thing i don't know).

Nothing reached cursed material, but it put the first seed for the blog.

So this is a lot closer to discourse than I like to get but I am so sick of people in our community supporting this woman.

If you’re lgb you should ansolutely care that she is a terf, you should actively care that when people tried to educate her on her transphobia (transmisogyny specifically) she doubled down and released an entire manifesto this summer. You should care that she annpunced a book the pther day about a man pretending to be a woman in order to assault cis woman as a way to demonize our trans sisters and commit microagressions (personally i think macroaggressions is a more apt description but you know terminology.

But even if you don’t care about the transphobia (you should what the fuck????) she is actively referring to herself as paychiatrist robert galbraith who experiemnted on gay people and actively put people through conversion therapy. She is referring to herself as a horrible human being who literally abused and tortured gay people.

I realize some of you dont give a shit about our trans siblings like you should, and you seek people who claim to be allies to us while demonizing our trans siblings like JK rowling did in her incoherent manifesto earlier this year where she talked about her “lesbian friends” and other women being harmed by trans women.

I know you like to prop these people up because they share your disgusting ideas, but the thing is a lot of these teansphobes are also homophobes lesbophobes and biphobes and the minute theyre done using you to make a point they will turn around and spit on you. @more-than-a-princess 6. What are some tips you'd like to give to new muns in the RPC? (It's tip munday. It's a thing I just came up with. Here's me shaking my proverbial tip can to drop in those RP tips)

The rpc in general or just the Fate rpc? In any case, I do have a few things to say to newcomers.

Don’t be afraid of asking things to another muns. It could be something about their muses, or RP etiquette in general, or a term you don’t know. Make sure to ask to multiple individuals, as no experience is a monolith and you might find diverging opinions, especially if you stumble upon some more controversial subjects like for example the proshipper and antis discourse. Ask around, read and make up your own opinions about things.

Speaking of own opinions, a very common practice is making a rules/guideline session. It makes things easier for others to know what you are looking for in a partner, and also a good way to set up your boundaries – you might find people that will cross them, either maliciously or by accident, so don’t be afraid of enforcing them. You are responsible for your own safespace.

Another thing that people do out of courtesy is tagging things like NSFW stuff or things that might bother them. The tl;dr is try to treat others with the courtesy you’d like people treat you.

On the subject of courtesy, don’t ever EVER reblog headcanons or copy them. It is understandable that duplicates might have similar headcanons, as they come from the same source, but everyone have their own interpretation of their muse. It is considered rude when personals reblog rp stuff, but when another roleplayer do is considered theft.

Talk to your rp partners. On the other side of the screen there are people. I know, it sounds obvious, but don’t assume things. Don’t give them “hints”. Try to communicate with them as clearly as possible, ask things, tell them if anything troubles you or if you have some plans for the current thread or where to take the relationship between the muses. RP is a collaborative activity, like any friendship. It takes two to tango. Knowing your partner can also give you some ideas on where to take the plot next, and if you are stuck you can always brainstorm together! It is also ok to feel intimidated, but I assure you: many muns are insecure. They won’t be upset if you ask something or say “no” – and in some times, if they do take things personally maybe it could be a good idea to take a step back in the relationship and reevaluate.

Another relevant point is that nobody is perfect: you will improve your writing as you keep practicing. There is this piece of art going on that is also valid for writers as well: there are two cakes, one very fancy and another simpler – but in the end they are both cakes and the people consuming will be delighted either way! As long you are having fun, it is all that matters. Write as much as you can, read whenever you are able. A published book or movie usually has many drafts before being consumed by us, and earlier works from our favorite authors can be considered not as good as their later work so the same also applies to RPing: every time you write, you will get better! I’m a ESL (English Second Language) so I’m usually very insecure, adding to my perfectionism I struggle sometimes, but I do have a few tricks that helps me out besides the ones already mentioned. One of them is having targets and slowly evolving them. For example, try having a reply from 150 to 200 words minimum. Talk about the situation, how your muse is reacting to it, their feelings about it. The thought process and then the reaction – your muse’s action or words will flow naturally with that. And don’t forget to give your partner something to reply to! With practice it will become second nature.

Ah! And tumblr can also be a bit buggy, so if you don’t see notifications on replies don’t be afraid of asking your partner about it. There are a few tools to help rpers, like the new reblog activities on the post or external sites like the rp tracker, but it is usually a good idea to double check with your partner.

Tools that everyone should have: xkit (both on chrome and firefox) and grammarly. I also recommend writing your drafts either on google docs or another program like Word of Open Office. Once you lose a long draft you’ll be scared for life.

And finally… Sometimes people don’t mesh. Some people like writing long replies, some like shorter ones. One are into coffee shops AU and some are into angst. You might also find people whose headcanons you might disagree on, and some people might disagree on yours. Some people look for different things in their RP partners that you have to offer. Or simply won’t work together. It isn’t anyone’s fault, you aren’t a lesser roleplayer or a bad partner because someone just didn’t jive with you. By the same token, don’t you ever feel pressured into doing something you don’t like or don’t feel comfortable to make someone happy. Your worth as a writer isn’t correlated by being “popular”, but the fun you have and the friends you make along the way that you can rely on. I have rp partners of more than five years (some close to ten!) and I love them to bits.

I wrote this in a reblog, but here's a separate post for it in case people don't see that. Hi, from the person who said they were vagued by Technoblade: here is an apology.

I wrote the "vagued by techno" post as somewhat of a joke referencing a really old analysis post of mine from last year where I was outlining some of my frustrations with the writing surrounding c!Techno, and how some of Techno's discord chats sounded rather like some of the language I used. I did not intend for it to get a lot of notes: I've written self-congratulatory posts like that before, and they've always gotten only a few notes each because I never maintag them. I always intended them as just lighthearted posts between me and my followers; and because I don't have a large following on dsmpblr compared to a lot of other blogs, they never went anywhere.

This doesn't mean I was the only person to independently come up with this take, at all. Techno says it's a take he's seen a lot, so I have my doubts that he even read that post. The vaguing post and my og analysis post blew up though, and I realized really quickly once it escaped my relatively small mutuals + followers circle that I should have added tone tags. So, final clarification: no, I didn't really get vagued, not explicitly.

In the og analysis post from last year, I state that I like cc!Techno, and that I was not trying to attack him. That has not changed. I was genuinely having a lot of fun yesterday thinking that he might have read some of our tumblr analysis, even if he disagrees with it; and (parasocially, I'll admit it—he was my first modern mcyter) I was even hoping that he read mine and had thoughts about it (hence why my first reblog of that post was inviting Techno to tumblr lol). Hence the vaguing jokes. I deleted yesterday's reblog of the og analysis post actually not very long after I made it, but by that point it had already spread to other blogs and it absolutely blew up after I deleted it. Again, I should have thought about that before I made the post.

I have been too proud of myself for my "pioneering" of dsmp takes these past few days—I'll fully admit and take responsibility for that, and that is the reason why my posts about the subject have such an ambiguous tone; they're lighthearted, but they're also prideful. I'm absolutely quelling my ego about this subject and taking responsibility for anyone who might have felt hurt by the discourse that followed it. No excuses. I got too parasocial and ego-boosted, spawned a fandom-wide discourse as a result, and that's on me.

Totally understand if you're not up for it and fully recognize the ronald mcdonald dom/sub anon vibes which is an AMAZING post btw but like...now i'm curious, what the hell did Lord of the Flies anon DO that got him blocked for the discourse? like...i just can't wrap my head around high school lit being...uh...that inflammatory i guess?

Okay so, I'll start by saying I've had a new anon from apparently the same anon saying they are NOT the person I blocked, just a rando making the same points, but I'll answer your question anyway just to set out why this person in particular got blocked, out of the several thousand who reblogged/commented on that very successful addition to the LoTF post I made.

First off, I added the 'real life Lord of the Flies' story because I thought it was a good story. I had read about it only a couple days beforehand in Humankind and, after reading out the entire chapter to my parents who weren't very interested, I was excited that there was not only a post where it would be relevant to post, but that I wouldn't be hijacking it, as it was already rejecting the widespread interpretation taught in many schools, that humanity is inherently savage.

When making the addition, I a) did not think it would get more than a couple reblogs, because the post was already at 50k notes and I figured anyone that might be interested would already have seen it, and b) I did not know the very specific context that prompted William Golding to write the book; all I knew was that he had been a teacher at a public school (basically, the poshest schools in the country - think Eton, Harrow, very 'old money' places that pump out Conservative politicians by the bucket-load 🤢) who hated his job and the boys he taught (which, valid), and new information I'd been given in Humankind - that Golding had said to his wife one day, "Wouldn't it be a good idea to write a story about some boys on an island, showing how they would really behave?" - which had no mention of The Coral Island by R. M. Ballantyne, which I have since learned was the text that Golding loathed enough to write an entire novel in refutation of - and included what I considered a very telling letter from Golding to his publisher, in which Golding wrote of his belief that 'even if we start with a clean slate, our nature compels us to make a muck of it.' Another Golding quote that I believe portrays his belief in humanity's 'innate savagery' is that "man produces evil as a bee produces honey."

Obviously, the author of a book putting forward the case for humanity's inherent goodness was going to oppose Golding's hypothesis; Bregman not only noted Golding's literary accomplishments and beliefs, but his personal life.

When I began delving into the author's life, I learned what an unhappy individual he'd been. An alcoholic. Prone to depression. A man who, as a teacher, once divided his pupils into gangs and encouraged them to attack each other. "I have always understood the Nazis," Golding confessed, "because I am of that sort by nature." (Humankind by Rutger Bregman, p. 24-25)

I have bolded the part about him as a teacher, because it is incredibly relevant to the original post that I commented on, which begins with a comic of a teacher locking her class in to see them 'recreate' Lord of the Flies, something which the follow up comments before mine staunchly reject as both misunderstanding the point of the book, and the fact that it took the kids in Lord of the Flies a significant amount of time without adult supervision to go 'savage'. This misreading of the text is widespread enough that when Golding won the Nobel Prize for Lord of the Flies, the Swedish Nobel committee wrote that his book 'illuminate[s] the human condition in the world of today'. Whether or not they misread it is beyond my expertise - they do at least mention the factors of the outside world neglected by many when analysing the book, but still seem to believe it says something about human nature as a whole rather than just, to quote thedarkbutbeige 'British kids being rat bastards' - but Golding quite happily took his Nobel prize on this basis. Which, in fairness, I would too. It's a fucking Nobel prize.

It was with this knowledge, and this knowledge alone, that I stated in my now very, very widely read comment that Golding 'wrote the book to be a dick', in response to the tags of the person I reblogged from. As I said, I now know that Golding did not write the book (solely) because he hated the kids he taught, but as a response to The Coral Island and the general idea that clearly the British were inherently civilsed, whilst the people they colonised and enslaved were inherently savage. So. That's the background.

The anon - or rather, the person I thought was anon - was the sole exception out of dozens of replies, who instead of telling me about The Coral Island politely decided it was time to go ALL CAPS and regurgitate points already made by thespaceshipoftheseus, and implied that the only reason that the real life Tongan castaways didn't go all Lord of the Flies was because they weren't British. Not because they weren't surrounded by violence like the boys in Lord of the Flies, or there wasn't a World War ongoing, or that they weren't the upper, upper, upper crust of a class-obsessed society like Britain - but because they weren't British. A complete inversion of the concept that Golding was trying to get across - now, instead of all of humanity being equally prone to savagery in the right conditions, it was solely nationality that determined it. As in, the British were inherently savage, but nobody else was.

I, trying for humour, made the terrible mistake of replying to them.

I won't lie, I was absolutely blown away that this was real life. What I think they were trying to do was be that Cool Tumblr Person who, after somebody's been shitty on a post, goes to their blog and sees something Damning in their about/description. In an ideal world, I imagine I'd have gone nuts or done something Unforgiveable. In what I can only call the rant that followed, they stated several times that I needed to go back to high school to get some 'proper literary analysis' skills and that the story of the Tongan castaways was completely unrelated to the point at hand which. I mean, I disagree, considering that I made the addition, but I couldn't get my head around how commenting on a post that was already rejecting the thesis that the 'point' of Lord of the Flies was that humanity was inherently savage and was, in fact, about how kids - British or otherwise - learn how to function from the adults around them, and that traumatised, terrified children aren't going to create a mini-Utopia, and put forward a real life example of how without the key additions of an ongoing world war, a colonial Empire and the subsequent mindset of thinking you are 'inherently civilised' and therefore can't do anything wrong, actually, people just want to take care of each other.

A friend has since asked me why I even have 'england' in my description. To be honest, it's a timezone thing - I talk to a lot of people online who don't share my timezone, and it generally makes me feel like if I don't reply immediately because it's 3am, they have the tools to see that I'm not in their timezone and not just ignoring them. I did consider changing it to 'british' or 'uk' after it was... 'used against me', I guess, simply because I didn't want to deal with it, but you know what. No. Not gonna do that. I am from England, and I have never hid that fact. I have a tag called 'uk politics', during Eurovision I refer to the UK's act as 'us' (even if I really, really don't want to. Because James Newman slaughtered that song and it was downright embarrassing), I regularly post stuff in my personal tag about where I live (and mostly complain about this piece of shit government). If people really think my nationality makes every point I make null and void, then they don't have to follow me or interact with my posts; tumblr is big, and I am one medium-small blog very easily passed over.

I did reply to them, trying to explain the above, but their next response really just doubled down. Because I used the word British instead of English - foolishly because the posts above mine focused on Britishness, and also because although Golding was English and taught English kids, the pro-Imperialism author of The Coral Island, R. M. Bannatyne was actually Scottish so, ding ding ding, falls into the 'British' category - they then decided that I was somehow trying to pretend I wasn't English and made all the same points, before ending with this doozy:

At this point, I knew there was nothing to be gained from replying, because if we're whipping out conditions like they're pokemon cards then there's no actual conversation anymore, and I'm not going to start mudslinging like an identity politician. They made up their mind, and I figured there could be no harm in letting them think that they 'won' by blocking them instead of replying.

Until the ask. INNATE ENGLISH SAVAGERY did, I'll admit, make me think it was them, back again. I even thought up a really good response approximately 12 hours after I replied, I was that sure. Until the second message came in, and said they were just someone who came from the post and made the same point by chance. So the saga draws to a close... for now.

It may have been them, it may not have been - the anon feature makes it impossible to be sure, but as the second message I got said, we're in a heatwave. It's too hot to argue. And I've just written a goddamn essay about a book I dislike anyway.

Hi, I myself was planning to post my wip on cog because choicescript was much easier for me to understand than twine but after reading about all the horrid stuff that's apparently been going on there I'm rethinking my decision and going back to twine. Do you know any tutorials for twine coding that are easy to understand?

Mind Games: Trepidation

Welcome to Mind Games: Trepidation, the first game in the interactive-fiction series Mind Games. The series will be a supernatural romance with horror, fantasy, and sci-fi elements, set in an alternative version of our world. There will be five-to-six books, and six romantic options.

As for the blurb:

Armington is a small city, with a population and size that still borders on being called a town. The peace is generally kept by one Sheriff Quinn and his trusty "independent detective"... otherwise known as you. You, an Alpha (a human with incredibly not-human abilities), someone who probably shouldn't be anywhere near law enforcement given your kind is outlawed with a kill-on-sight allowance by the government... but that's not your worst worries, not in the slightest.

Starting in your home city of Armington, a slow but steadily growing illness is spreading among the Supernaturals in your community, an illness that renders those infected into a comatose state. And, as it continues to steadily spread, it becomes less and less clear how you are supposed to "peacekeep" or even fix what's going on... so the Advocacy of Peace steps in to assist. The Advocacy, employed by the government to police the secret world of Supernaturals and more publicly "eliminate" the threat that Alphas pose as well as many other things, sends in one of its top teams to try to stamp out the illness before it spreads any further.

On top of all of this, from trying to run after an unknown cause to an unknown illness, balancing your normal work life with your private investigative one, and even playing nice with the Advocates sent in to help, there's still one more thing to contend with: The Centennial Celebration of the founding of the apple orchard that eventually grew from a road-side bar by the same name to the city in which it resides. Which, given the city was originally founded by Supernaturals, many will be flocking to Armington to celebrate. With so many things to balance, how will you handle the pressure that seems to have no end in sight?

- The ability to select pronouns, gender, and sexuality, including asexuality, which also won't lock out romances nor NSFW scenes.

- Multiple versions of NSFW scenes that reflect the above items.

- Six romance options, each with their own distinct problems, views, and secrets.

- Choices that will matter far past where you make them, AND your decisions will not be forgotten by those around you. That also means not everyone will agree with your decisions, no matter how close the two of you are.

- Most ROs can be romanced by anyone, only one RO has set genders they'll be romantically involved with

- A lot of customisations for your character, each of which will be listed on the stats page

- A few special stat pages, one includes dictionary entries for things MC knows but the player does not

The Romance Options:

Freja Ellingboe: The Commanding Agent of her team, Freja can be brutally blunt and has little patience for those unable to focus on the task at hand during working hours. It doesn't help that even outside of work, she's rather reserved... probably doesn't help that she suffers from massive amounts of social anxiety. Despite this, she has nothing but warmth in her heart for her team and even their wrangler, even if she has a hard time showing it.

Gender: Cis woman

Sexuality: Demisexual

Race: Viila

Adontis: The second-in-command to Freja, Adontis is almost opposite to her in personality. He's rather amiable and smooth, and as such, handles the part of their job that requires a... diplomatic touch. However, it can be challenging to get to know him on a personal level, as he's well-versed in deflection tactics and doesn't deal well with the whole "getting to know you on a personal level" bits. He's also one of the oldest beings currently still in existence.

Gender: Cis man

Sexuality: Currently experiencing bisexuality

Race: Vampire (original virus)

Fawn: Fawn is... hard to describe. Cagey, edging on hostile, and reluctant to deal with people in every way possible. She's been betrayed far too many times, and after the third time she had to deal with the loss of everyone close to her, she's incredibly reluctant to trust anyone. She doesn't even go by her true name: Fawn was one she chose herself, to represent her forced new life after being thrown from her tribe for crimes she did unwillingly, and being on unsteady legs that had to strengthen quickly.

Ok, So as a straight cis woman and most importantly a Big fan of both your games. What you said about your games aimed at the LGBTQ community made me feel like a cast out and that I'm not taken into consideration. I would also like to mention that I understand the "cal scene" I mean even we get rejected YK. I would understand your point if you are only including ONLY LGBTQ content, characters and MC in your stories but the fact that in both games we can play as straight wouldn't that mean that it includes\aimed at us too. you have fans from every gender and sexuality, you don't have to "undervalue" a section I think as an author you should be more objective. You don't have to reply I just wanted to make a point and I still think that your games and storylines are cool and will continue playing as long as I don't feel discriminated or outcasted in the game.💞💖

When I say "aimed at", I'm meaning "written with them in mind". I mean, c'mon, I'm a genderqueer person who has a general preference for women and other enbys with some vague interest in men, alongside being on the aroace spectrum. It's... it's really hard to not have the lgbt+ community in mind when I'm writing, madam.

Also the Cal scene thing I said was a joke, a lot of y'all in our inbox are also acting odd about it, I'm not sure why 💀

That's not at all true; there's plenty of CoGs/HGs that include LGBT+ options, but those games are not aimed at the community in any way; a game being aimed at a community will give more choices for that specific community especially if that community is as diverse as the LGBT+ one is.

Yes, I understand I have fans from many different backgrounds and I don't undervalue any fans at all, what I am saying is that while I do write to include cis straight persons, my games will generally be in mind for lgbt+ persons, from pronoun picking to gender to being ace, and having those things incorporated somehow in the game. I've been on my soapbox about some stuff on here before, like the gross misrepresentation of ace people in most games, and god dont get me started on the horrible shit I've seen said on the forums about people using they/them and the blatant phobias of most lgbt+ identities on there. Why shouldn't my community have a safe haven of writers who actually genuinely care about them and their representation when one of our biggest writers from the forums turned out to be so shitty a person? It's not fair, in any form or way, given that is not a worry for specifically the cis straight community (not talkin about my trans straight folks nor my cis gays).

Also, I don't write discrimination on sexuality nor gender, but please, as a cis straight woman, do not bring up discrimination to me. Cis straight people do not get gender nor sexuality discrimination; I have never, ever heard of someone being shunned by their family or being fired from their job, nor being made to feel like their lives matter less than those around them for being cis and straight. Most of my own family thinks my mom "didn't do her job" and they only know I prefer women, and Faye's family blame me for them being who they are and made sure I knew it, as well as telling Faye it's a phase or I'm "influencing" them. So, please. Really, really think before using the word "discrimination" when dealing with gender and sexuality.

Again, not trying to be rude or mean, but... what?

ok, here's what i'm driving at: this epidemic of 'maybe women are SMART ENOUGH to just not be influenced by society in any way :)' arises from the exact same flawed mentality as treating 'Racist' as a noun, as an identity. that a person Is An Racist or they are Not An Racist, rather than existing on a spectrum of benefiting from/perpetuating/internalizing racism.

it's the same fallacy that leads people to mindlessly parrot TERF talking points and then say 'trans rights!' in the same sentence. i'm sure there's a word for this, but if there isn't, i'm going to call it the 'Identity-Ideology Fallacy.' it's treating ideology like a list of The Correct Words To Identify As, rather than the internal system of the things you believe and why you believe them.

'TERF' is on the Bad Checklist, so i hate TERFs! no need to analyze what TERFs believe or why they believe it, because i am a Trans Ally (good), which means i am immune to transphobic dogwhistles! no need to examine my own personal beliefs, because i am not A TERF :)

and

'beauty standards' is on the Bad Checklist, so i hate beauty standards! no need to analyze how they work, because i am A Feminist/Antiracist (good), which means i am immune to internalized misogyny/white supremacy! no need to examine my personal sense of aesthetics, because i am not A Misogynist/White Supremacist :)

are both predicated on this fallacy, and, in case it wasn't clear, this is fucking dangerous. it poisons the well of public discourse, resulting in well-meaning people becoming unwitting proponents of deeply bigoted opinions. and genuine bad actors are aware of this, and will intentionally use the Good Checklist as camouflage- TERFs and other white supremacists are experts at this. it is a foundational component of every left-to-right political pipeline.

i've seen QUITE a few positivity posts lately aimed at gnc lesbians, along the axis of things like packing, binding, etc, doing things that look more 'manly' and how that's good and awesome, and it is! but yknow what i'd like to see? what i've never, ever seen? some of those posts aimed at... literally anyone else. everyone else. i want to see it independent of sexuality, actually

i want positivity for straight women who pack, who bind, who want facial hair, i want positivity for men who want breasts and vaginas and smooth faces, i want the desire for a certain body shape to be decoupled from gender entirely. i want a culture where there is no assumed correlation whatsoever between a person's gender or sexuality and the kind of body they want

i want queer/trans people fully liberated from the idea that our bodies should 'match' our gender, and that cannot be achieved without fully liberating cishet people from the idea that their bodies do 'match' their gender.

NSFW stuff

the "mild nsfw" tag is gonna be the catch-all for stuff that's like.. not necessarily explicit I guess? but still kinda nsfw-y (trying to figure out how to organize this >.<)

the "nsfw text" tag is for.. mild nsfw text I guess?

the "nsfw" tag will be for stuff that's like.. actually explicit. Probably not gonna use it all that often, but I had that one markiplier post in the queue and it was tagged accordingly.

Please block all of the above tags if you don't want to see that stuff.

Trigger warnings:

blood: tagged "blood tw"

gore: tagged "gore tw"

organs: tagged "organs". things that aren't really gore but contain/talk about organs

decay: tagged only "decay". "gore" didn't really feel like the right tag for some stuff? So I'm adding this one. Pretty self-explanatory I think? Bones and rot probably

animal death: will be tagged both "animal death" and "animal death tw"

body horror: tagged "body horror"

insects: tagged "insects tw"

bugs: tagged "bugs tw"

spiders: tagged "spiders tw"

Not trigger warnings, but still important:

horror: things that are either spooky or unsettling; may often also be tagged aongside "creepy"

creepy: usually the more unsettling things

Posts may also be tagged "spooky" or "bad for sleep".

cursed: usually thing that are just cursed; also includes things somewhere between ew and eugh. Be warned that there may be some really eugh stuff in there.

Please feel free to let me know if I should start tagging other kinds of discourse and/or if I should tag them more specifically.

General tags:

life tips: general things that would probably be pretty useful at some point in life (like tutorials or stuff to generally keep in mind)

important life tips: things are probably too important to have to scroll through the "life tips" tag looking for them (usually relating to health and safety and stuff)

very important life tips: usually things relating to what to do in dangerous situations (I think I have a post about what to do if someone's drowning in there somewhere?)

note: all posts tagged important/very important life tips will also be tagged in the more general "life tips" tags above it in this list

art tips: like "life tips" but for art! has tutorials and guides and stuff in it

oh hey look it my art tag: my art tag :o

a fungus plays [insert game here]: my tag for yelling about games that I'm playing! mostly just pokemon rom hacks at the moment I think. Games will be listed as [franchise name] [game name]; for example: # a fungus plays pokemon fool's gold

a fungus watches [insert series here]: the tag where I scream about shows/series I'm watching! Names will usually be shortened to their acronyms or shortened forms; ex: # a fungus watches atla

a fungus reads/rereads [insert written media name here]: where I scream about books and manga I'm reading (probably fanfiction as well at some point)! Will most likely be tagged with the full title of the work.
