Everyone, the tumblr user themeeplord is bullying me (affectionate <3)!!

You have no idea how normal I am about my monster OCs. They're so lovely just let me—ahhh!

Hawthorn is a Mothman monster. His wings are based on the garden tiger moth and he is so fluffy! He has a thick fuzz on his neck and chest and is a warm, cuddlebug. He also possesses bright orange eyes that pierce the darkness and startle the unfortunate late-night hikers or anyone piercing into the woods after midnight.

He has a thing for hanging out in the thick woods near where the MC lives. Wherever he goes, bad omens follow. He really shouldn't be near MC—he knows he'll be the death of his precious little human, but he can't help it. He's drawn to the MC like a moth to a flame (heheh). He's delightful and gentlemanly, but don't let that fool you. He's got a possessive stretch a mile wide and does not take kindly to anyone giving the MC looks or reaching out for a too-familiar touch. He will bristle and buzz, and fly swift and silent through the darkness to chase after anyone to ensure the MC stays all to himself. He is a bad omen, after all.

Grease is an oil demon! He feeds off of fear, literally, and delights in terrifying people in the night. His body is slick and iridescent, and he is constantly dripping black goo from his person. He is capable of shifting his form to hide in a puddle, slink underneath doors, or bubble through a crack in a broken window. He's got wicked sharp teeth, and eyes like a tiger but with a pale, unsettling blue color. He possesses tendrils on his head that constantly drip and a long, slick tail that he can use to grab MC by the ankle. He's terribly seductive and charming, terrifying but mischievous. He likes to say 'boo' just to watch MC jump. Of course, he's not all tang and salt. He's got a sweet side that rouses in a protectiveness over MC. He's possessive, sure, and he's marked his claim with the oil stains on MC's work apron, but he's got an ooey-gooey center of sweetness that MC occasionally finds when he blushes at a stray touch or a nice comment about him.

Calmo 91, otherwise just called Calmo, is a robot. Constructed in the 90s with a box TV screen head to match, he has bright yellow optics in the screen face along with thick wires falling behind his head in a ponytail-like fashion. He is cool and difficult to read but wickedly intelligent and learning much about humans and affections. His body is a thin endoskeleton with plastic matt gray coverings that give peeks of blue, red, and yellow wires at his metallic joints. He's got a mysterious past the MC is attempting to unravel that he truly wishes the MC would leave be. He's got much to learn about technology but he quickly figures out how to connect to the MC's phone for texting, phone calls, and other useful things of course, like keeping tags on where MC is and monitoring MC's heart rate. Useful tools. Modern technology. Living in the MC's house, he gets to spend more domestic time with the human he decided is kind and generous, but the MC occasionally finds him at the foot of the bed in the darkness, his yellow optics strangely switched to red until the MC says his name and his optics revert back to yellow again.

I'm not good with commenting on fics on ao3 like i never know what to say but I wanted to show some more appreciation in addition to kudos so here I am.

I've been reading "I Didn't Mean to Say I Do, but I Do. I Do." and I love it! I also think it's so cool that you make alternative versions of individual chapters, I love the idea and I think it also supports the suspense of the fic by showing so many different ways how Buck and Eddie being married could easily be accidentally revealed to the 118. Also I often don't like reading wips because I tend to forget to check for new chapters or by the time I read new chapters I have forgotten about the plot or I don't vibe with the fic anymore, but for this one that's not actually the case and I always enjoy new chapters.

I'm really looking forward to future chapters and am curious to see how the story progresses and I'll check out some of your other fics too since I enjoy your writing style a lot!

I am so happy you like all my AUAUs, because I was kind of nervous no one would be interested, so I'm thrilled people like them! Because it is such a balancing act for them and there were so many moments it could have gone wrong for them. It's also a really fun way to explore mindsets of other characters or fill in plot holes that just didn't make it into the main verse xp

So I don't really know what the Crystal Springs stuff is, but I was casually scrolling the tag on your blog and it looks really compelling! Do you have a quick little blurb of what it is because I am delighted by what I have skimmed. Crystal Springs was (and is!) a fanfic (genfic) I wrote as a continuation to the Christmas movie The Santa Clause 3. It focuses on Jack Frost, post-thawing at the end of the movie, and how things have been going for him in the year following. Here's the (long form from ao3) summary for you:

It's been almost a year since Jack Frost thawed and things are looking...well, not so great. Jack's powers are seemingly gone. Without them, the Dome that keeps the North Pole safe from the cold and its magic controlled is melting, putting everything and everyone magical at risk. Unable to hide his power shortage any longer, Jack is forced to admit the truth. Thankfully, there is a solution: enacting the Legate Law, bringing Jack and the sister that he hurt so many centuries ago back together again. But when Jacqueline starts experiencing destructive blackouts, the pair are forced to head back home to Crystal Springs, bringing Jack face to face with the rest of his estranged family. Needless to say, between getting his powers back, helping his sister figure out what in the FROST those blackouts even were, reconciling with his parents, meeting the two even younger siblings he didn't even KNOW he had, NOT TO MENTION the ancient threat that's had it out for the ENTIRE Frost family finally making a move? Saving Christmas (regrettably) is looking to be a little bit...complicated.

Since writing it and posting it in 2012ish, it's kind of taken a life of it's own? Hence the fun tag, lol. It's grown so big and I've got so many little guys in it now that it's become so far removed from the movies it's not even funny, and I'd LOVE to one day see about publishing it! After like, 7 plus degrees of removal because I am not unconvinced that Disney wouldn't come after me about it, given who their lead actor for that particular franchise is.

Anyway, you don't really need to watch the movies to get it; and you can start right at Crystal Springs in terms of reading order! There is a sort of prologue to the fic, called Meet the Frosts, (ao3 is the most up to date/nice to read version of it) in which we do that exact thing! It has a really good "history of Crystal Springs" lore dump in chapter one, which you can find right here on the hellsite, even! It's a fun summary of the beginnings of CS, how it came to be ruled by a monarchy, and how the monarchy was eventually replaced with a democracy inspired system via the Assembly.

So what is Crystal Springs, itself?

It is a magical landmass hidden away from the rest of the world in which all SORTS of fantasy creatures, legends, folktales, magical beings and so on and so forth can see and visit and call their home, if they'd like.

It has existed for THOUSANDS of years. It's been through three whole eras (roughly) and all sorts of magical shenanigans ensue there! It's called Crystal Springs because the centre of the landmass holds a huge, sprawling series of freshwater springs in the mountains, and they heal all magical beings.

It's basically just a big, huge melting pot of fantasy creatures and I'm so very fond of it! The main characters at present are usually the Frosts, lol.

There's Jack, of course. Then there's his younger sister/second-in-command/next in line for the title of Jack Frost, Jacqueline. Crystal Springs focuses on them reuniting and Jacqueline dragging Jack back home to reunite with the rest of his family: Winter, his mother, the literal season; Blaise, his father, ex-prince of Crystal Springs, governor of the capital of the continent, the city of Crystal Springs (they got a whole New York, New York thing going on there lol), and his two youngest siblings he's never met: The Twins, Fino and Fiera, who live to be cute, set things on fire, wreak chaos and hit you with wisdom when you least expect it.

While Winter is winter, Blaise is a summer sprite. Not Summer herself, of course; but a sprite with all the powers of the summer season! So half of Jack's family is just on fire 🤭

There are a whole HOST of other characters you'll meet along the way! The other seasons, the other Legendary Figures, their seconds in command; OCs friends have made that sometimes appear in Crystal Springs (usually under the cs au tag); fics inspired by the story??!?!?! (Absolutely WILDING thing to see fr fr!) Miller's Law is a DELIGHTFUL read, focusing on Lucy (who thawed Jack) and Jack, featuring the cast of Crystal Springs/low key taking place in a world where Crystal Springs exists! AND it has the AMAZING Melusine, one of the aforementioned friendly neighbourhood OCs! Jacqueline herself has story hopped in Rules of Engagement, where we meet her biffer, Elle!

There's plenty of oneshots and sillies in the smile shots tag. I have a sequel planned that is a wip (the beginning and end are beat sheeted/note plotted out, but the middle. She eludes me. For now...) and I've shared some shadowy snippets from that! Sometimes I dabble in CS angst, and those are sometimes filed under frowny shots because I think I'm cute and clever, lol.

There's also a GIGANTIC HUMONGOUS fic called The Twelve Years of Frostmas (on ao3 and ff dot net) that focuses on the timeline in the movie when Jack takes over as Santa, leaving Jacqueline to take over as Jack Frost! That one is a very fun romp! VERY LONG. May need some more third movie context but is very enjoyable, or so I've been told ;)

I do talk about it quite a bit because I love it to death, and lately I've been tagging everything cs related as "cs posting" so people can blacklist it if they came here for fandom and fandom ONLY. I should probably make that it's own post but I figured I'd add it here for the curious who made it this far. On that note!

Sorry this got a bit out of hand anon, if you made it this far. I really need an elevator pitch for this thing, or like, a masterpost guide I can pin. Problem is, I quite enjoy pinning the art my friends make because it brings me joy and I need EVERYONE to see it lol!

i headcanon that it’s just persephone and nero! i think persephone’s mother died of starvation a little before nero caved and went the cannibalism route.

i really go back and forth on how i view her relationship with nero- i talk a little bit about that here! but i lean towards them having a somewhat strained relationship due to the guilt they both feel. nero feels guilty that it had to resort to that (and because he didn’t save his wife) and persephone feels guilty that he was in that position and had to do that. i think part of her also feels grateful towards him for going to such extreme lengths to save her and that puts even more pressure on her to be the perfect capitol daughter.

i don’t think nero ever remarries- he struggles too much with the trauma of everything to open up like that to someone. he throws himself into his work to ensure that persephone never has to go through that again. he also puts a lot of pressure on her to find a husband- but a lot of that comes from him wanting to make sure that persephone never suffers again.

writing this all out…i’m realizing that i actually think the cannibal is a decent, but distant father. he is so far from perfect- but i think he does love persephone and he does try. it’s just a very difficult situation.

i don’t see her having any siblings! but i think her friends siblings adore her and see her as an older sister figure (festus’s brother love her!).
