I just want to ask you something I've seen several times now since I joined the fandom. Is it true that XZ's big name fans openly call fans to rate other people's work (not just WYB's, because I know that happens a lot) 1 stars on Douban and other sites. I'm asking purely because I want to know the truth, and I'm worried how it'll negatively affect XZ in the industry, not because I want to put that blame on XZ. What's with all the asks lately about anti/toxic fan behavior? Every turtle who reads my blog should know by now that I think focusing on what those people say and do is pointless, and a very unproductive, negative approach to fandom.

You're all free to do whatever you want, but I hope you can stop bringing these topics to me. It's not what I want to focus on, think about or talk about.

This truly is the last question of this type I'm taking. We should be focusing on GG and DD. When there is a lull like this, and things are slow, now is the perfect time to watch their projects. I highly doubt everyone's seen them all, but if you have then a rewatch is always worthwhile.

GG's movie is coming out early next year, why not also read the story it's based on? The Legend of the Condor Heroes by Jin Yong. FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC story. Absolutely gripping, exceptionally well told. I've been working my way through this series for the past several weeks and I can't recommend it enough.

As for your question, Anon, yes - that type of activity/behavior is a typical part of toxic fan culture, although GG's active fandom solos are known to be especially dedicated to this type of toxic fandom. It's a double-edged sword. On the one hand they are boosting his popularity and clout, and on the other hand they're really messing with his career and harming other fans and artists.

GG and DD's fans are especially horrible to each other and are constantly launching attacks on each other and on each other's idol. Some of the worst attacks against GG and DD were heavily pushed by XFX/MTJJ against each other's idol. The infamous 'desperate illiterate' attack against DD, for example, was largely pushed by XFX, who actually still frequently use it to this day.

My hope is that GG will gradually start to shed this type of fan, and I believe there's some evidence that he's intentionally, carefully shifting his image toward that goal. But in the meantime, this is just where things stand.

A GG solo posted an essay on Weibo a while back that was translated on Twitter, outlining some of their experience in that fandom. It was an interesting read and should give you some insight into how they operate. My thoughts on all of that can be found here and here.

THIS IS HARD!!!! When I dream of a fic, I simply write it.... there is one genre of fic that I really adore but can't bring myself to write and it's daemon aus, as in His Dark Materials. I *adore* the sort of "spirit animal" concept but I just can't write it myself! And this AU is so rare I can barely find any fics for it, especially in modern fandoms!!! It's such a dilemma for me, I'm begging *anyone* willing to write it.

I find myself wanting existing fics to update more, though. For instance, Whumpbby has a couple fics they haven't updated in years (no hate obviously, that's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes) but their Reaper76 one and Voltron Gijinka ones are really good and I am BEGGING for more. Well, I can't recommend enough! Aside from the ones above, there's:

want to see your animal side by blackkat (but blackkat has said they want to distance themselves from this fandom so.... sigh). It's a Naruto yokai au Kakashi/Zabuza fic that's deliciously spicy and builds on Naruto's lore nicely. This is the fic that inspired my own fic series In the Snowfields!

Pretty Hyung Who Buys Me Food by InBooks which is a S Classes that I raised fic, Sung Hyunjae/Han Yoojin ofc, where instead of regressing 5 years, he regressed 20 and lost his memories 👀 sweet and funny and adorable, highly recommend

Never Ever by LostOzian (their archive) is a Tiger and Bunny fic, Omegaverse bc that's how we roll, where Tiger hasn't smelled a compatible Alpha that he liked ever, until Barnaby came along. The tension is so tight it could be a yaoi uke's asshole. Highly, highly recommend if you like slow burn and forced-proximity

A World of One Color by The Big Roman (Hammocker) is a Roman Sionis (Black Mask)/Jason Todd fic series that I drool over every time I think about it. Sadistic yet caring Roman and a Jason desperate to be loved, muah. Chefs kiss. Honestly anything in the Jason/Roman ao3 tag is perfect.

Designation: Miracle by Umisabaku is a kuroko no basket fic with all the classic pairings (and a curveball with my favorite, Akashi/Furihata) which is a sci fi au of KNB. Her summary is the best so I'll just copy:

"It's been three years since seven human experiments, called "Miracles," escaped Teiko Industries, alerting the world to the presence of super-powered children. Now they're finally integrating into society-- going to normal high schools, playing basketball, falling in love-- and trying to find out if it's possible to truly escape their past."

I find it so difficult to get into plot-heavy fic, especially these days, but this fic is a downright masterpiece. I can't emphasize enough: if you're going to read anything on this list, read this. The plots emotional and technical beats never disappoint, and Umisabaku has a rich and wonderful range of OCs that are just as if not more interesting than the characters we know. They've also written stunning original fiction you can find on their Tumblr!!! @/umisabaku

Tear into your Soul by Nirejseki. Just kinky fucked up Hashirama/Madara/Tobirama goodness.

My #1 post of 2022

I cannot get over how good the Forger family is together. Each one of them knows it's fake and temporary, but they are all willing to put their best foot forward and make it work. Because of this, they are all so understanding of each other and yet feel self conscious they're not doing enough because they know it won't last forever.

Knowing this is all a cover, they could seriously do the bare minimum, do enough in public to make it look like they are the perfect family. But Yor truly cares about making sure she's a good wife and pulling her weight, and she's come to really care about Anya and I do believe she sees herself as her mother. Loid, while usually always thinking of the mission to justify his decisions, does a lot for Anya and is always quick to reassure Yor. He goes above and beyond to make their family happy. Anya's just willing to do whatever she can to keep this family together.

Like I know I've said this before and other people have said this before, but I seriously can't get enough of this family. They're the fakest family but the best family.

the only info you got was from antis, so i thought i'd step up and explain from my point of view, as a radqueer myself! ^^

In simplest terms, radqueer usually means accepting identities no matter how "problematic" they are, and believing that identities themselves aren't wrong (though obviously actions can be)

this includes identities like transIDs and paraphilias (more on them later)

being radqueer is also associated with things like being pro kink, "thoughtcrimes aren't real", anti respectability politics, etc

transIDs are basically when you

a) identify as something that you aren't bodily

b) feel as if you should be something

c) want to be something

As you can see, there's a wide variety in experiences that fall under them!

the reasons for it can be atypical dysphoria, (well known for trace (trans race), transabled, transage, and other stuff related to one's body, though it can also apply to less physical stuff- for example i experience dysphoria from not being abused!*), having adjacent experiences but not enough to count as the ID (i most often see it in identities like transautistic, transgroomed, etc), fetish reasons, source reasons (for fictionfolk), system headmates differing from the body, and much much more!

*it fucking sucks like I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT LOL

paraphilias are attractions to things that are considered societally outside of the norm! it can be anything, like attraction to objects, fictional characters, feet, etc, however most people first think of the big three! (MAPs, necrophilia and zoophilia)

in terms of "harmful" paraphilias, it's important to remember that the vast majority of paraphiles don't act on attractions that would be harmful to act on, since, yk, they don't want to harm people.

Also, you can't cure paraphilias, (though you can cure paraphilic disorders, which just means getting rid of the shame and whatnot accumulated thanks to Society). Self loathing, apart from worsening paraphiles' mental health, also makes them more likely to offend (at least in terms of MAPs since I'm pretty sure there were studies on them specifically).

common misconceptions about radqueers:

a) that all or most of them are pro contact for the big 3 / support SA / etc - that's just not true! The majority of radqueers I see around disagree with sexual/romantic contact with minors (disregarding situations like 17/19 yo, yk), sexual contact with bodily animals, etc.

b) that it's a cult - oh BOY i do hate this one!! People online have a habit of calling any toxic community / community they dislike a cult. Many anti radqueers also agree that it's absurd to call the radqueer community a cult- while one may believe that it's harmful, it simply does not have many characteristics typical to cults (and the ones that it does- they can be applied to pretty much any group that experiences a lot of hate) (i can explain this using the BITE model if you really want me to)

While I do agree that the radqueer community isn't perfect (*cough cough* certain members), and sometimes really bad things happen within it (I've seen some testimonies from ex radqueers), most of it is pretty chill? like it's been genuinely a great experience for me so far (minus the knowledge that most of tumblr hates me now lmao). at least my corner + main radqueer tags (minus anyone i have blocked ofc). And just because the community has certain issues doesn't mean you should judge every member for the actions of a few, ykyk (basically don't harass radqueers please ;w;)

also, relative to other highly mentally ill online communities the radqueer community doesn't seem that unique in having issues?? though also I'm kinda desensitized to certain things so yk. take this with a grain of salt. ;w;

anyhow, if you have any questions feel free to ask me! ^^ i don't expect you to become a radqueer since it is a very radical ideology, but i'd really prefer people to actually understand it instead of spreading misinformation "^^

Didn't learn the word for that anger until high school. (Should I have been watching that show when I was five? Probably not. But it's a fun bit of sci-fi cheese so I still recommend it.)

i am feral over this. i am studying it as if it were a holy text — which is kind of funny to say, given the tags LOL but no seriously, i. how do i say this. if if he's a serial killer was my tiny garden that i had grown in my backyard, then this fic is the entire field in the valley that is producing the best crops in the state. does that make sense as a metaphor ? idk ! but what i'm trying to say is that — this fic is everything that i wish if he's a serial killer could have been, and i kind of hate to say that bc i hate to keep bringing myself up LOL but it's bc of mao and her talent that this fic has such a special place inside my heart. i just think it is such an incredible deep dive into dabi's character and how love would make sense in his mind, and i think his relationship with the reader is very important and — sad to say — so fitting, maybe ? bc of the way they grew up, and it's just so well written and the depth of meaning and emotion and metaphor and symbolism that is woven so gracefully into the bones of the story. like. insanity. talent on another level. this isn't even half of what i could say about this fic, but it will definitely be in my compiled '22 rec list, so prepare for the novel that i will write at that time LOL

I am going to preface this by saying that this isn't me saying that you're a terrible person- nothing like that. Believe me, I get it. I understand how frustrating the tagging system can be and how people don't always tag this right or the way the fandom has collectively agreed it should be tagged to get out of people's hairs. I get that, but you still have no control over that. You can scream at the top of your lungs that this is the way things are supposed to be, but people are going to use Tumblr the way they do, the way they always have.

I could name you 10 different things I dislike or I've grown tired of reading or am very picky about in a fic. I've talked about it before with friends, I've even posted it here on Tumblr. Do you know what I didn't do? I didn't tag it with a fandom tag, I didn't tag in a way people who were looking for positivity would only find my frustration. Because I understand that people will like what they like, and I can't control that. I don't want to control that because while some of my love might have waned that love still holds strong for so many people and they deserve to keep that love going.

I repeat what I said about this not being a personal attack but- something I hope you realize is that a lot of people are in your shoes. They don't have much time to write, if they have the energy to write at all. But this is how they unwind and this is the fandom and the fic that they love. They deserve to write or draw or chat about the media and crossover they enjoy too.

If you want to see something else for a change? Exclude the tags on Ao3. Want to get around all the people that don't tag properly? Block those Tumblrs, or at least avoid them because you know you'll likely see something with the crossover there. I've had to do the same thing. And it's not perfect, but it does me a lot more good than stewing in my own frustration over something I cannot control.

I don't understand how this is discourse when it really doesn't have to be. @impyssadobsessions put it the best- if you want to see or read something, then support that. Goodness knows how far that support can go for an author, especially a new one.

If seeing something like this bothers you that much, then I would recommend doing more than just blocking one tag. And if that means you have to block me too, then go for it.

But don't try to control others when you cannot even control the effect they have on you.

Not to like. Dig at the Phans or anything. But can we please start making content not related to DC? Like it was fun at first, but honestly I care more about the canon Danny Phantom characters than any DC character like. Ever. And it’s in everything, so like I’ll be reading a post and think it’s funny then BOOM! Nightwing/Robbin/anyone in the bat fam (a term I have learned against my will) and instantly I don’t care anymore. Believe me, I’ve tried to avoid it, and tried to find other content not related to it. But I mean it when I say it’s in literally everything.

Yes, this is a me problem, but it sure is a problem for me.

Ahhh I'm feeling emotional. 2021 was a difficult year for most of us so having the opportunity to interact with wonderful people in the Moomin fandom truly made most of my days better. Thank you for all the laughs, all the support, the sweet comments and crazy ideas.

I always joke about how joining the fandom was a mistake because 1. I spend a lot of time in here and 2. It possessed like 90% of my brain. But genuinely? Joining it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me, and this is where I want to go with this post: The canon media isn't the reason why I'm so invested in this fandom (I haven't even read all the books!), it is the people I met here who have made my experience here the best thing that could have happened to me in 2021, and the reason why I would love to stay here for even longer.

I don't usually tag people in tagging games, so I want to use this special occasion to do a BIG post mentioning almost all the people I'm talking about.

How do you handle seeing hate about Seb? 😔💟

I luckily don't see too much of it. I tend to stay away from twitter and tags on Tumblr (where I feel like more hate is located) so most of the time I only see negativity is happening if someone mentions it to me or if a friend or myself receives asks about it.

I just prefer to stay away from discourse. I know this might upset people and it doesn't mean I never care about anything but there are only so many things I can devote energy to. When it comes to fandom I prefer to devote my energy to joyful things. In real life I do devote my time to upsetting things and things that require fixing because I am actually in a position to do something.

To me always opening my mouth about something I barely know something about is incredibly performative and does more harm than good.

Aside from that I believe I would go quite insane if I had to care about every single issue people bring up regarding Seb or in general. You can't care about everything, especially not intensely.

I genuinely recommend reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck - Mark Manson. I read it a few years ago and it provided some really helpful lessons to me.

Another thing I do regarding Seb (in this case) is decide for myself whether I think something is bad (enough) and so far I've decided that's not the case. I don't expect people to be Saints. And while I certainly am not perfect in this regard, I also try to leave judging people to God. Plus actually doing my degree has also provided me a lot of perspective on certain matters.

Anyway. This got a bit rambly I think. But my main advice is using filters, avoiding/leaving heavily negative spaces, unfollowing/blocking where needed, and always trusting your own mind first when people are saying things.

I hate myself.

No, really. I may have called it once or twice in the past due to mild anger or frustration, but this.

This is real.

I mean, I may be the only person who would:

A) Cry over a failed marriage during an interview

B) Scratch that, cry over a failed marriage in midst of the most IMPORTANT interview in my entire career!

C) Go straight to the pub later to drown my sorrows when I know perfectly well what would happen if I do get drunk.

D) Do what would be obvious to a broken-hearted, career destroyed, thirty year old drunk woman: Leave a string of carefully selected profanities on the voice mail of my beloved ex-husband.

E) Waking up several hours later on the side of god-knows-what street staring in horror at the drunken messages I've sent to everyone in my cell's contact list- which would also include my parents.

And to think of it, I managed it all in little less than 12 hours last night.

I think I'll just dig a burrow in my apartment and never come out of it. Wait a minute...

That's it! I'm never leaving my apartment again. It'll be perfect- I'll take up one of those work-at-home jobs they always advertise on the internet, eat ramen noodles for sustenance and stay protected from the world outside throughout my life.

In fact, I'll tip off my doorman to tell my family that I've left to pursue my inner self and I may never come back again. As many years pass by, my family would mourn over my presumed death while I get a plastic surgery done and change my name to something untraceable like Ronal Wallis.

Oh, jolly good! A brilliant idea. Why didn't I ever think of this before?

13.30 P.M.

Err; maybe the whole change-my-identity-and-live-happily plan didn't exactly work.

Don't get me wrong, it didn't totally blow up or anything. My doorman, Steve did his job perfectly, informing my sister that I have indeed joined Deepak Chopra on a journey to find myself in a tiny village in the Himalayan Valleys. He narrated the story in such a sober tone that even I found myself believing him for a moment.

But Steve and I didn't realize that in order to leave the country, I would actually need my passport- The passport which is still in my ex-husband's apartment along with the rest of the stuff I was going to pick up this week.

Unfortunately, my sister was very much aware of this piece of information.

"Anna, it's been two months. You've got to get your shit together. You cannot stay dep-" I gave my sister a warning glance.

Not the D-word. Definitely not the D-word.

"I'm completely fine."I mumbled, looking down at the dregs of my empty coffee mug.

"No, you're not completely fine Annabelle Green. You've stopped calling, stop visiting all of us. Hell, nowadays you don't even get your ass out of the bed. Now, I know what Luc-"she stopped short, taking in my pained expression.

Another word I do not want to hear – Luc- Lucas.

Lucas .Lucas. Lucas.

"I'm sorry," Kat, my sister, bowed her head down low. "I shouldn't have brought him up."

"Yeah, you shouldn't have." My eyes closed from exhaustion. "Kat, why are you here?"

"Well, last night you-"

"I KNOW. It was a mistake. And I think I sent an explanatory text earlier this morning."

"That won't stop me from checking up on you, Anna. I'm bloody worried about you."

My eyes descend down to her enormous belly. She shouldn't worry about me right now- I'm not the one who is due for two bouncing baby boys in less than two months.

Did I just say bouncing? Oh, Lord.

"How're the boys kickin'?" I pat her belly gently, forcing myself to smile.

Her face instantly relaxes. "Oh, they're kickin', all right," she smiles at me, "Didn't give me a wink of sleep last week."

Well, that makes the two of us.

"I can't wait for little John and Paul to meet their ol' Aunt Anna." At least this was true. The arrival of my twin nephews is the only thing keeping me up for the past couple of months.

"Anna, we have talked about this. I'm not naming the kids after The Beatles."

"Why not? I recommend you have another set of twin boys so we'll have the entire boy band in our family."

"And have four crazy boys running around the household? No thanks. Phil and I would probably die of insanity."

Sigh. Phil and Kat. Their story is the closest you'd ever get to a fairytale- childhood sweethearts; they were two young teenagers wildly in love but were painfully separated to colleges at the opposite ends of the country. When it looked like it was truly over between them, they reconciled during the summer after college. It was literally The Notebook all over again, leaving out all the letter writing and the crazy house building. I don't think Phil is capable of fixing a broken lock, let alone build an entire house.

Suddenly, I felt someone holding my hand tightly. I look up to see Kat's eyes filled with tears. "Annie, come home. Mum and Dad miss you. I miss you. We want to stay with you in these difficult times. A few days away from Seattle will do you good. "She gets up. "Mum, Dad and Phil are waiting for us in the car downstairs. I'll help you pack up."

My heart softens, but I raise my eyebrows in sarcasm. "So, they sent you to emotionally blackmail me, right? Well, it's working, Mommy –in-waiting."

She tweaks my nose playfully. "It always does, baby sis."

❅A Love Letter I Have to My Lovely and Beloved Friends❅

(I just know that 30 july was a national friendship day and today is like 31 july already at where I am but,,, just pretend that this is also for National Friendship Day 🤡🔫)

As you all know, it's been confirmed that I'll be going on a hiatus two days from now that I really don't know how long it will go on. So, with that in mind, I wished to leave this message to all the wonderful friends I've made while I was active here on Tumblr during quarantine.

I've started this writing blog a few months ago, to be precise, on May where life in quarantine was starting to become a norm. In the few months until now, I did my best to start writing and drawing more using all the free times that I have.

I wouldn't have expected this blog to grow so much in such a short time. To me, it was really mind blowing, seeing that there's a lot of other great content creators here on Tumblr. Yet, the 300+ people who stumbled upon my blog still decided to follow me.

I was really happy to have made many contents that I'm actually proud of posting. And I still can't believe there are people out there who love them. Seeing every one of your comments and reblogs and likes really, really, squeezed my heart and I couldn't be more thankful for your support.

And during these fun times, I was able to make friends with many amazing, talented, fantastic and all the good words I could find in the dictionary people on here. You all are a real gift to me and I hold you guys close to my heart.

I still can't believe I was able to befriend you guys though, like, y'all are so amazing and I was just here like squeaking my name to you like a shy mice lmao. =///= Anyways, thank you for all the good and fun times. Thank you for being with me and helping me with lots of things. Just, thank you for everything. (I'm writing this at 1am like it's sad hours yall I'm crying :')))

To all of my dear friends that I've mentioned above, I LOVE YOU LOTS YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW GRATEFUL I AM TO MET YOU GUYS. Quarantine time has been stressful for a lot of people, and Tumblr can sometimes (a lot of times) be kinda whack but I was really happy to met you guys during my time here.
