hi again! so when it comes to pannie being a slur or not, i don't really have an opinion on it tbh. and i'm cool with however others want to categorize it in good faith. i will say though that i find it utterly ridiculous that some people (*cough* panphobes *cough*) get mad or mocking when people do call it a slur. like, if people use a word as a slur, use it in place of a neutral word solely to express hatred/contempt/ill will/violence/etc. about a group of marginalized people, it's probably gonna get called a slur, ya know? so i get why people call it a slur and i get why non-panphobes might not think of it with the severity that tends to come to mind with the word slur, i just don't have a personal stance on it one way or the other.

Same thing happened to me op. I also got (c)SA'd in my first ever relationship (Im aroace too and if I'm not misremembering my ex gf was polyam as well). And for a long time I put the blame solely on me bc I thought I cheated, when in reality I got taken advantage of (I was 14-15 when it happened and the other person was in his/her mid 20s so... kinda not the same situation but I know it sucks no matter the age) point is, don't take all the blame on yourself pal, it's a messy situation and, in your case, you're all young prone to make mistakes so it's not like any of you are pure evil irredeemable villains.

I never really reached out to my ex because she has anxiety and i didn't want to distress her (and we've both moved on by now), so I guess what I'm trying to say with this is that if you're both ok you can still communicate, not neccesarily with the intention to go back together but at the very least get closure, and if you feel safe to do so, get therapy, or at the very least check on your mental health too.

preface: yes i am, theres no excuse, i just want to hear more ppl's thought because different ppl in my life have very different opinions on this??? even though i think cheating is cut and dry?

earlier this year, i (20nb, tho i was 19 at the time) was in a purely monogamous relationship with my ex (19f). there were ups and downs, i had some issues that i really shouldve talked to her about, but overall it was the best experience. id never dated anybody before. she's the only person who ive ever loved in that way. i think shes the best person, funny, smart. i was really lucky to have her.

i have another friend, who i'll call H (21f), who has been my friend for years. we're really close, and we've shared a lot with each other. i also love her deeply, though in a different, entirely platonic way. she has told me that she loves me, and has loved me in romantic ways, even though i've never reciprocated (im fine with that, everyone in my main friend group is a little bit polyamorous).

there were two main incidents that happened between me and H. the first, i didnt really understand what was going on or that it was entirely wrong. we were cuddling, which i do with all of my friends, and she started getting really into it and getting on top of me. she asked if she could kiss me (on the lips) and i said no, partly because, well, i had a monogamous partner, and partly because i hate kissing on the lips. i probably shouldve entirely cut it off at that moment. my only excuse (which is pretty flimsy) is that, im kinda aroace so physical affection and the difference between platonic and romantic have always left me a little confused. i kinda thought this was normal, especially because H is polyamorous and in several relationships that heavily blur the lines between platonic and romantic.

then, about two weeks after that, H and i hung out again, but this time we were smoking marijuana. weed makes me highly suggestible and also incapable of remembering anything past about five seconds. not that im blaming the drugs, just describing the situation. basically, H and i were cuddling again when she decided to move on top of me and got flirty, with a lot of touching sensitive places for the purpose of getting a reaction (all above the belt). i went along with this because i respect H, ive known her for a long time, and i didnt want to say no to her. again, not an excuse, because she didnt force me to do it.

in the moment, i didnt think this was cheating. we werent doing anything explicitly sexual, we weren't making out, but we were definitely frisky and i know H was horny at the time. a couple hours later, when i sobered up, i suddenly realized what we had done and asked H if i had just cheated on my girlfriend. she also seemed to realize what had just happened and we agreed that i had cheated, that it was entirely wrong, and we should never do it again.

i decided to tell my ex about this immediately, because i thought she should know. i asked if she was in a position to hear bad news, and when she was, i was completely honest. she obviously didnt take it well, mentioning how she felt like she could never trust me again despite being the person she trusted most in the world. she loved me but this was unacceptable and a huge violation. i agreed, and after a bit of thinking, i told her that i thought we should break up. i had terrible guilt about what i'd done and assumed that we'd never recover, and it didnt seem like she could pull the plug, so i did.

she proceeded to get even more mad at me because of this, which in hindsight is completely understandable. from her perspective, i had just dropped two emotional bombs on her, and maybe i was implying that i liked H more than her. i wasnt, and i dont, but i know why it came across that way.

my other friends agreed with me that i shouldve broken up with her after that. in hindsight, i dont know if it was the right choice. i miss her dearly and wish i had worked more on the relationship.

we've since talked about it. i told her that i still loved her (bc i do, very deeply, and i dont know if i'll ever get over her) but said that i dont expect anything, dont expect a relationship, etc. she was okay with this because, in her words, she trusts me to not make it a big deal or awkward. we hang out frequently now, we watch anime together, and we get along well as friends. i feel so lucky that she is willing to spend time with me, that she still enjoys my company even a little bit.

the confusing part is that i told my dad about this and he basically said, "you were 19yo in a long distance, online-only relationship. this was inevitable and you shouldnt feel too bad about it. it was wrong but not the worst thing ever." i dont really agree with that, because it was a pretty serious relationship despite being online. we even met up at a convention and spent several nights together in a hotel. it was the happiest weekend of my life. i thought i could marry her maybe someday. and i dont think being 19yo justifies it. 13yo maybe, but i was old enough to know right from wrong, even if my knowledge about romantic and sexual relationships was underdeveloped.

basically, im looking for nuanced opinions. i fully expect the results to be YTA. im hoping ppl can give me any sort of insight in the comments.

PS: H is partially to blame bc she knew i was in a monogamous relationship but please dont hate on her too much in the comments, we've had a lot of talks about this and what happened drastically changed the way the both of us see relationships and each other. basically, she learned her lesson and she was never trying to be a bitch or a homewrecker. i know her well enough to know shes a good person at heart. she's also not on tumblr to see any of your comments. direct all of you criticism towards me, please.

bnhhnf not a hc but im just dumping it here bc i feel you'd have a good take on this i can't properly contextualise into words (but don't feel forced to reply im just rambling here)

but i REALLY hope merrical doesn't become a thing in survivor not because i personally dont like the ship/have contradicting hcs but because i feel like it'd take so much away from what the original game was about? itd change the entire tone away from the series and really make it stand out negatively.. like fo handled its character relationships REALLY well especially familial, and even though it is a star wars game with action and laser swords i feel like they really hammered in that the message of the game was about these individuals from various different backgrounds who have all had something horrible happen to them or been through a bad experience coming together to heal. to me, the game is about healing from your trauma and i loved that there was nothing romantic about it like i see so many media on that topic do (eg having chr1 be magically okay and happy bc chr2 kiss them etc) and i feel putting in romance after would just cheapen it???? jfo was REALLY good at balancing the different scenes, and they all blended into eachother in a way that made sense.. assuming survivor will be similar to fo, i cant imagine how they would fit a romance arc into it that isnt just a singular kiss and holding hands in cutscenes, aka never touched upon. also, theyd need to do like... entirely new coding and text dialogues for the optional conversations

i also really hope it doesn't happen because it would follow the ever tiring trope of "a guy and a girl of similar age now exist in the same space, obviously there's some tension😏 because guys and girls can't JUST be friends😏😏" and as someone on the aroace spectrum it's so UGH to me because for starters it's so??? corny?? its the most boring way to start a romance ..

Yeah, as an asexual person, one of the things I always liked about the Jedi Order is how they are (in the films at least, EXCEPT YOU ANAKIN AND LOOK HOW THAT TURNED OUT) portrayed as not having romantic attachments which is why I loved it, even as a child. I felt like finally I had some good representation... It's why I only really accept the first 6 films and JFO as canon (lol sorry to all animation / sequel fans. I CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT I LIKE!!!!!) (okay fine, I don't mind parts of The Mandalorian either...) I would *love* it if they keep Cal and Merrin as just friends with more of a sibling vibe, but *if* they don't, well, that's what headcanons are for. However, that said, given how well-written the first game is, I have hope that it would be handled gracefully.

My friends got mad at me over this so now I need to know if I’m the only one who feels this way. I always like animal/monster designs better than human characters solely bc all human character designs feel kind of the same (all of them are clearly just typically attractive people for the most part) while monsters and animals are given cool, unique, and memorable designs. Like why would I remember Dark Haired Guy #507 when there’s a super cool monster I’ve never seen before?

My friends got mad bc they thought I was saying I thought their OCs were ugly when this came up. But like I don’t think human characters are ugly, just that all of them are something I’ve seen before while other creatures are given all sorts of unique designs since they’re not intended to be attractive. Bc im aroace and there’s no attraction there’s just no huge appeal in ‘attractive’ character designs so they feel overdone.

idea for a story - oh do not get me started. i literally have lost track of how many aus i have for Them it's actually so bad. i think my favorite au is where childe betrays the fatui and takes the gnoses for himself and becomes the archon of all the elements :) and diluc serves as his diplomat bc i said so 💅 they get married and have a huge fancy wedding and diluc becomes the pyro archon and yes i am mentally ill <3 do not talk to me about this or else i will never shut up this is a promise

unpopular opinion - i do not like zhongli/tartaglia as a ship. idk it's like the power imbalance i think but something about it rubs me the wrong way. also i cannot see zhongli as anything but an aroace grandpa i am sorry but chili shippers are incorrect (/j)! like i do not care if you ship them but it is not for me! i stay as far away from the genshin fandom as possible while still running a genshin blog so idek what other opinions are unpopular but yeah. thats the big one

favorite relationship - hopefully you all already know this but chiluc (childe/diluc) lives in my mind remt free and in fact i am the one paying rent bc they force me to draw them every fucking day of my life and they are canonically married i do not make the rules they told me this themselves. they are in love.

favorite headcanon - diluc is autistic and childe is adhd this is true and correct and i will die on this hill. another headcanon i have based on dilucs specialty dish (pile em up) is that diluc holds the record for pile em up and to this day has not been defeated <3

a headcanon i have for childe is that hes really good at styling long hair because he takes care of his younger siblings a lot and yes this is for the purposes of furthering the chiluc agenda but it just makes cents luv!!! 💅
