you help me, i'll help you - ( Lucius ) @familyname
Hermione KNOWS it’s a bad idea, she knows a bad idea when she sees one, she’s friends with Harry and Ron after all, but this seems like a step up from that. Still, she doesn’t turn on her heels, and instead regards the other for a moment longer. “And...what exactly would that entail?”

"GOOD IDEA." She agrees with a slight smile, finishing off her glass of wine. "It's been a long day." In truth, Hermione is long used to working overly long days, and even nights, but this case would probably take a lot out of them once it truly got going, so they should get as much rest as possible. "See you tomorrow bright and early?" She then adds, "Bed should be ready in the guest room, and towels are in the cupboard in the bathroom. Feel free to take anything else you need."
Derek felt a bit better as the conversation turns to her rather than what they might be up against. "I've heard a lot about what Hermione Granger can do," he says with a smile, "but I don't think she's ever had a werewolf on her side like me." They could protect one another if they found themselves in some kind of trouble. "Why don't we go over the rest of the case in the morning? I think we could both us a bit of sleep so we aren't talking in circles."

Angst idea: Will and Y/N are working on an investigation together and she gets seriously hurt. Since they had a heated argument before, she tries to hide her injuries but eventually feels dizzy due to the blood loss and he gets startled and rushes to help her.

Pairing: Will Graham x Reader
Trigger Warnings!: Blood, injury, guns
This request has been sitting in my drafts for WEEKS waiting until I could properly dedicate time to it. This angst piece was so fulfilling to write and I hope it was everything you hoped it would be!

“No, absolutely not!” Will’s voice rang through Jack’s small office on desperate ears. His eyes meet yours, filled with a sad craze as he directs his attention back to you. “You cannot seriously be considering this!”
Your heart lurches in your chest, because you completely understand where he is coming from. What Jack is asking from you is no small ask. Your eyes fall to the floor as a whisper leaves your lips hurriedly, “What other choice is there, Will? He’s going to keep killing unless it’s me who goes in.”
The man’s eyes whip to Jack’s, his hair ruffled from his stressed hands running through it. Will’s calloused palms run stressily over his face, covering his eyes as he speaks through them to the Agent. “I’ll do it,” He begins, desperation laced in every word because how could this really be on the table right now? “Please, Jack. Just let me go in instead. Do you know how dangerous this is going to be?”
Jack gives out a hefty sigh. This wasn’t an easy decision to come to. Putting you in a direct line of danger was not his first choice, but it’s the only way that he knows will draw out the unsub. The threats the FBI has received over the last few weeks were alarming, each one bigger than the last. You’re the one he wants, and he won’t settle for anything less. The perfect crime.
“I need both Graham’s on this. End of story. I’m not going to let anything happen.” His measly attempt at reassuring the frazzled man before him doesn’t make a dent, but the Agent walks out of the office without another word, making intense eye contact with you just before the door closes.
Your eyes dart from Will to the ground, your arms wound tightly around your middle as you sway softly where your feet have planted themselves. “I don’t like this either, Will. But we have a job to do.”
You hear the soft padding of his footsteps for only a moment before his arms find their way around you, taking you into a soft and protective hold, almost like he’s shielding you from an invisible force. His stubbled cheek meets your temple as his rough whisper sounds, “Using you as a pawn is never going to sit right with me. Jack doesn’t understand just how dangerous this is. He could-”
You step out of his hold quickly, cutting his words short, “I’ll be okay,” you begin, your hands coming up to hold Will’s face. “You’ll get to me before anything happens. Then it will all be over.”
The wheels in Will’s brain begin to turn, you can see it as his eyes almost begin to tremble in their sockets while he looks over you. He leans in, closing the small gap between you two, a soft kiss burning into your forehead for only a few seconds before he moves towards the door.
It’s go time.
............
The back of the unmarked van that Jack and Will are cramped in grows mustier as they both breathe, Will continuing to get more and more anxious as he waits for Jack’s queue to burst onto the scene.
Your voice sounds in the headset he has practically pasted to his ears, but all seems to go quiet for only mere seconds as the weight of this entire fucked situation hits Will. You’re in the hands of a killer. One that has murdered anyone that he could get his hands on that bears any resemblance to you. He’s got you. No vest. No gun. The FBI, Jack, handed you over willingly.
Thank you for all of your notes. I looked forward to them everyday.
You did? Really? I was so scared you wouldn’t get them.
I did.
Your conversation with the unsub snaps Will out of his trance, Jack grabbing his arm as they both listen intensely to each word. He can hear you trying to keep your tone even as you speak to him, but he can hear its subtle tremble. You’re scared and it’s killing him.
I’m sorry I had to kill the others. I didn’t want to, I swear. You’re just…perfect. Getting to you was impossible.
Each word the unsub speaks grows sinister, his voice dropping to a whisper as he approaches you. The agents can’t see it, but he’s got you sat at his dinner table, your hands bound by a zip tie. Can’t let you get away from me now!
Pictures of you litter the entire thing, moments you didn’t realize were a victim of watchful eyes. Moments of you coming and going from work, intimate moments you shared with Will in the safety of your own home, pictures of you changing in your bedroom. Pure terror has you paralyzed. Jack knew it was bad, so did Will. But no one could have prepared you for this.
Beyond the table, the images cover the floor in a disgusting blanket, bloodied footprints gluing them to the linoleum below. The walls are covered in a layer of red haphazard writing, crucifixes hanging in any empty space. Every light socket is filled with a shattered bulb, the room dimming as the evening sun begins to set. A stench of dead lingers in the air, thick and musty in each breath you force your body to take.
WIll can hear your struggle from his headset, his eyes catching Jacks in a desperate attempt to get the go ahead to rush onto the scene. He just wants this to be over.
Let’s take a field trip. I’ve got something to show you.
The agents hear your chair scrape against the floor, with only their imagination to guide them as a sliding door sounds through your mic. They hear you wince softly as you stumble and hit the ground.
You silly girl! Always been so clumsy.
Will’s own breath begins to quicken as he grabs Jack's shoulder intensely. “We need to go in. Now.”
Crawford only sends him an intense glare before turning his attention back to the feed from your mic. He hasn’t gotten what he wants from the unsub yet, so interfering would only put you in more risk.
You're dragged harshly by your arm as he pulls you up from the ground, a scrape on your side burning from air exposure, hot with running blood. The world seems to be closing in around you as he brings you to the edge of an empty swimming pool, the bottom completely covered in lit candles and splotched red splatters. He leans down, speaking directly into your ear. The disgusting heat of his breath spreads across the side of your face.
You’re the last piece. My sacrifice to Him before I can finally ascend.
You break at his words, everything feeling suddenly too real as you hear a gun cock just inches from your head soundtracked by his maniacal laughter. A quiet sob escapes you, sending a dagger through Will’s stomach as he hears you continue to break through your mic. He throws the headphones off, sending them clattering to the van floor as he straps on his vest, gun in hand.
Jack tries to protest, but Will shrugs him off, opening the van door and jumping out. “It’s done!” He yells back at the agent, slamming the door behind him as he slowly treds across the street to the unsubs yard. A fence is all that blocks him from you as he approaches the backyard.
Will listens carefully as the exchange continues between yourself and the man they’re trying to apprehend.
It was always you, my dear! And now we can finally be His forever.
The cold metal of the barrel meets a small patch of exposed skin on your stomach. You try to move away as best as you can, but the man only grips you harder, pressing the gun deeper into your belly.
“Please! Please, you don’t have to do this!” You sob, any ounce of hope leaving you as the metal grows warm against your skin. He laughs behind you again, shaking your body as it only grows more intense.
That’s where you’re wrong, silly thing.
BANG….BANG
The gunshots sound through the air, leaving Will Breathless as he breaks through the fence. Only, who’s eyes he meets aren't the assailants, no, they’re Jack’s. His shock only takes over him for a moment before he hears a soft whimper emit from the ground, a pained cry he would recognise anywhere.
Everything goes quiet at the sight before him. The unsub lays dead, facedown in the grass, his blood seeping into the dirt. The second gunshot, Will will deduce later, caused by Jack, who went around the other side of the house. But only a few feet away from him lays your trembling body, your hands desperately trying to hide your gushing wound.
You almost look dead, your skin growing pale against the bright green grass, life slipping through your trembling fingers.
Jack calls for medical as Will collapses onto the ground beside you, his own hands frantic as they try to remove yours from your stomach. “No no no no,” you call weakly beneath him, trying your best to conceal your wound from him, almost as if to undo it, “I’m ok-okay.”
Tears trail down the raw skin of your cheeks as Will pries your hands away, peeling his own jacket hastily from his shoulders to press onto your wound, a pained cry escaping your throat at the pressure.
“I know i know i know,” You feel Will’s palm wipe the tears from your eyes as he tries to comfort you amidst the pain, his head dipping down to rest his forehead on your own, “I’m sorry, baby. I know.”
“I-it hurts” your lips quivering at the admission. Your form begins to tremble in his hold, blood loss weighing heavily on you. Jack watches as his fellow Agent begins to break above you, his own shoulders beginning to shake. He hears the distant calls of an ambulance, rushing to the street to guide them back to you.
“Stay with me,” Will moves to pull you into his lap, holding you still from your shakes to prevent any jostling of your wound. Your head rests in the crook of his neck as his palms continue to press into your middle, warm blood covering his hands. “Please. Stay awake for me. You’re going to be okay.”
He pulls your head from his neck as he speaks, eyes searching yours for any sign, but he only finds you teetering between consciousness. Your head lulls back to its spot, a soft cry of Will’s name leaving you before he feels you go limp against him.
“JACK!” The broken man cries, gripping your body to his, as if he could pass some of his life into you in this moment. His lips find your temple, kissing you softly, like you’re one crack away from breaking into millions of pieces.
Somewhere in the mix, paramedics arrive, peeling your tattered body from Will’s hold, his begs of them to be careful and gentle with you are heard by every official on sight.
They strap you onto the gurney, loading you up into the back of the ambulance before eagerly preparing for departure. You needed a hospital, and you need one now.
The paramedic signals for Will to load himself into the back of the vehicle, knowing that he won’t respond well to having to travel separately, but before he can step inside, Jack’s hand grabs his shoulder.
“Will, I’m-”
“Don’t.” The man shoots back, red eyes intentionally dodging Jacks before the door is closed between them.
Will settles in on the small bench inside of the ambulance, his hand holding yours in his own. Your skin has begun to cool, your color drained as the paramedics begin working. His grip tightens over every bump in the road.
5 minutes passed before he felt it, the softest grip your own hand returned to his. He is immediately on alert, leaning closer to your form as he watches your eyes open against the bright lights of the ambulance.
You groan at their brightness, your voice hoarse as you try to call for Will, confusion laced within as you take in the unfamiliar surroundings. He hears the fear in your voice, immediately answering and bringing your hand to his lips. “I’m right here with you,” he whispers chokingly, his free hand coming up to rest on your cheek.
Your head whips around to meet his gaze, relief dawning on your form at the sight of him. Will’s stomach pangs at the sight of tears welling up in your tired eyes, lip quivering as you look at him with intense fear.
He feels your weight shift as you lean your head against his knee, his own adorned with a messy mop of curls coming down to rest on yours carefully. “Will,” you hushedly sob, his soft lips meeting your forehead in response.
“I’ve got you, I promise”

Putting out feelers for a Harringrove, Steddie or some Harringroveson friendship The Last Of Us Au Rp. I’ve been trying to get myself back into writing after this winters bout of depression so I need something I can chip away at with someone. I have a NSFW Rp going on with someone else atm, so I’m looking for someone very Gen for this one (though I still want there to be like…romantic tension and all that good stuff.)
Looking for something either medium or long story idea wise. Low pressure to respond, I can sometimes need a few days reprieve from writing, so no pressure for having to wait between posts. I can also get into the groove, so if you get into a groove no shame lol. EST hours.
I wrote up an opening already because I was inspired, so just hit me up if you are interested. I’m primarily asking Mutuals.
I had a partially thought of story idea for a TLOU crossover where Steve and Billy end up meeting up in the open world, probably a smaller city where Steve was separated from the kids and the other adults at some point in time but he learned about where they were taken, somewhere up northern to another GQ zone that's much bigger and is run by more official government so it's assumed to be 'safer' though it's not necessarily, but it's still pretty heavily guarded. Billy is ALSO trying to get there, but for very different reasons (I imagine he's apart of the fireflies in this only because he doesn't agree with Fredra's ways and he is a survivalist). He got seperated from his partner Eddie who was taken by raiders and he's trying to track him down since he had the information they needed to bring down that particular section of Fedra.
Billy has been unfortunately wounded and is holed up in a house/building somewhere to heal, rationing his food before Steve comes along and finds him. They get into a fight obviously, or Billy traps him or catches him off guard but they eventually figure out they aren't going to kill each other.
Steve is open, too open and just happy to see people and tells Billy all about the kids and his adult friends and how he's desperate to find them and be reunited with them. Billy of course, at first, takes advantage of his naivety bc he doesn't know this guy from adam and he needs help to get what he needs. So he tells Steve he'll guide him to the GQ if only they go after to save his partner.
Queue adventure.
——
Steve stepped up to the entrance of what looked like an old dollar store, glancing side to side down the road to make sure there wasn't anyone watching where he was going before he adjusted the backpack against his shoulders and pushed the old glass door open. It creaked on it's hinges causing him to cringe, stopping so there was just enough space for him to squeeze himself through before closing the door once again.
He'd been safe so far, strayed away from populated areas after escaping the Indiana GQ zone, stuck to dense forests and mountains before walking large swaths of flat grasslands that made up the Iowa state. Or at least, he hoped he was in Iowa, seeing as he'd never used a map before his escape from Fedra's walls.
"*fuck*." Steve whispered to himself, staying quiet as he listened for any movement inside the smaller building, eyes raking through the pilfered racks of old junk food and magazines. Nothing was ever easy, nothing was quiet and nothing ever turned out right if he was to believe the people in Fedra, their propaganda on staying in the safe zones they'd made for the people of this world.
Safe was relative in this life, seeing as Fedra had done their own fair share of destruction and killing to rival the infection.
Steve wished he saw what the world before looked like, seen it in magazines some of the other boys in the GQ had found after coming back from illegal trips outside the walls. It was...colorful back then it seemed, lights everywhere, music and noise, no one afraid to step outside their door in fear of getting bitten or raped by the many monsters that existed in this world.
But he'd never get to see that so he pushed on, ruffling his hair of the dust that fell down from the top of the old door and coated him, leaning down to pick up a piece of debris to toss into the back of the store.
Nothing. No movement.
"Fucking finally." Steve sighed, rubbing a dirty hand over his stubbled face as he walked further into the old store. He was exausted and hungry, his rations getting smaller and smaller by the day and he knew he needed the energy to spend a few days resource gathering but he'd only manage to do it if he had a nights rest. Sleeping on top of box trucks and in trees wasn't really a way to get a full eight hours of shut eye.
"Ok...search, secure, sleep." Steve mumbled to himself, having been alone for a while now that it was the only way he got to hear another voice. "Maybe you'll get lucky." He huffed, fingers sliding along the metal shelf as he walked the isle slowly. "Maybe this time you might find some expired boxes of crackers or something- *oh* or maybe-" Steve moved quicker to the back of the store, his eyes lighting as he saw a can on the ground, the top unopened.

Still don’t have a name for this fic. Will put on AO3 when I got one. Anyone got any ideas for a name feel free suggest them.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 4
60 years later
Jules was in the human realm again for the first time since the sacking. He had wanted to go home long before now but his mother wouldn’t let him out of her sight at court. He became an adult by fae standards ten years ago but that didn’t mean his mother couldn’t find other means to keep him from leaving. Eventually though he got hold of a lute, some bard clothes, snuck back into the human realm and took up the name Jaskier to make it harder to find him. He’s been wondering the continent as a traveling bard trying to hear anything he can about what was left of the wolf school ever since.
Finding out knowledge of any Witchers yet alone a particular guild of them was easier said than done. In the past year he’s only managed to find two, one viper and one cat. He didn’t get much out of either of them but the viper and cat schools got never along the with the wolf school in the first place so it wasn’t that surprising.
He was going to give it a few more months then actually pluck up the nerve to go back home to Kaer Morhen and see what is left and go from there. Right about now Jaskier wishes he didn’t put such a good anti tracking spell on the medallions or he could find anyone he wanted. The majority of those who where out on the path during the sacking wore medallions he had enchanted in the first place so it wouldn’t have been hard otherwise.
He was playing in a small tavern at the edge of the world in the town of Posada when it happened. Jaskier was playing a set that was pretty much designed to get food thrown at him so he wouldn’t have to pay for lunch. Also he didn’t want to stand out so he didn’t want to showcase his true talents. Then seemingly out of nowhere Geralt of fucking Rivia unexpectedly walked in and took a seat in the back corner where no one would see him. The bard almost missed a note in shock. So knowing how literal minded his old friend was he started singing in metaphors using monsters that don’t exist or at least shouldn’t exist.
He finished his song and on queue got bread thrown at him. He started muttering at the crowed as he stuffed bread rolls in his pockets. He looked up to see Geralt hadn’t bothered to even look up at the spectacle. Didn’t surprise him much. He had enchanted the medallions to ignore his magic so he could get up to magical mischief as a child and Geralt always had been particularly resistant to magic even for a Witcher. It’s why Reidrich singled him out for his ‘experiment’.
The fae stood up, took a tankard from a passing barmaid, had a drink to brace himself and walked up to Geralt. “I love the way you just sit in the corner and brood.”
“I’m here to drink alone,” Geralt replied not even looking up.
“Good. Yea, good.” Jaskier ignored the Witcher and sat down across from him. “No one else hesitated to comment on the quality of my performance… except for you. Come on. You don’t want to keep a man with bread in his pants waiting. You must have some review for me. Three words or less.”
“They don’t exist.”
“What?”
“The creatures in your song, they don’t exist.”
“And you apparently still wouldn’t know a metaphor if it bit you in the ass Geralt.”
Geralt really looked at him for the first time, brow furrowed. “Do I know you?”
“Gee thanks. Nice to know I’m that forgettable. It’s been sixty years I know, but I hadn’t been able to get away from my mother until now. She had guards watching me and a tracking spell for when I slipped the guards. She was convinced if I came back here to see what was left of Kaer Morhen I’d be killed. Took me finally reaching age of majority and another ten years of court responsibilities she made up, before I managed to slip the leash. Anyone asks, my name is Jaskier and I’m a perfectly normal human bard, thank you very much. Really don’t want to be dragged back there. Court is boring.”
It took a moment for Geralt’s brain to catch up with the rambling and put it together. “Jules? You’re supposed to be dead.”
“I got out. Managed to make a portal and took the children with me to the fae realm along with Birman and Deglan who dragged my unconscious father along with them.”
“Vesemir said he was the only one left alive in the keep. Does he know?”
“Considering he shoved me through my own portal when I tried to talk sense into him about coming with me, yea. I would have jumped right back through there and dragged his ass back through with me but I hit my head on the other side and got knocked out. So Vesemir is still alive?”
“For now. Might be a different story when I get back to Kaer Morhen and have a ‘talk’ about him letting me think you’re dead for the past sixty years.”
“Don’t be too hard on him. He was probably just covering for our escape, didn’t want any rumours any of the mages made it out. The brotherhood was behind everything. Saw some of their council members, not just mages, among those attacking.”
They got interrupted as a farmer walked up to the table. “Excuse me… master Witcher. I need your help. I have coin. A devil has been stealing from our grain stores.”
“A devil?” Geralt asked sceptically.
“Well I don’t know what else to call it. It looks like a goat that can run on two legs.”
“And it’s been stealing from your grain stores?”
“Yes. I have a hundred and fifty crowns for you to go take a look.”
“Alright. You coming Jules?” Geralt asked as he got up.
“Sure. Maybe I can write a song about it or something, Eric,” Jaskier replied, getting up and following.
“Don’t call me that,” Geralt snarled annoyedly at Jaskier.
Jaskier haven grown up around Witchers, didn’t find it in the least bit intimidating. “Don’t call me Jules and I’ll not call you Eric.”
“Fine, Jaskier. What kind of name is that anyway?” Geralt asked as they left of the tavern.
“A whimsical one like you’d expect a bard to have. Also kinda fae, it being a plant name and all. They’re weeds. Hardy, will grow anywhere, near impossible to get rid of, and poisonous,” Jaskier proclaimed proudly.
“Hm. Put that way, very you,” Geralt replied as he got Roach out of the stable.
They walked out of town a bit before Jaskier couldn’t help asking, “Isn’t that one of the horses I grassed?”
“Her name is Roach.”
“And she lets you ride her? I remember most those horses becoming like demonic hell spawn afterwards…”
“Took a while but she trusts me. She makes a good Witcher horse; fast, lots of stamina, isn’t afraid of pretty much anything, won’t let anyone steal her. She’s also older than me and still going. Why did you grass horses anyway?”
“Oh. They had me practice on animals before they let me preform the trail of grasses on a person. I take it you haven’t come across the rats… those sneaky little bastards are why they decided we should move on to bigger animals who can’t hide as easily.”
“Rats? Is that why we have a colony of half feral mutant cats?”
“I only grassed two… to catch the rats. How was I to know the cats could still have kittens afterwards? Most creatures mutate so much they’re not compatible with the same species anymore and renders them infertile,” Jaskier explained exasperatedly.
“What happened the people you escaped with?”
“They decided to start over. Got the fae to take them to a new part of this sphere far from the continent. After all it’s not just here that has a monster problem. They’re thriving last update I had, and far away from the influence of the brotherhood. People actually look up to Witchers there and don’t have the superstitious beliefs about them so less die each year because of humans.”
Geralt had a far away look for a moment. “Must be nice.”
“I could take you there.”
“Maybe… someday. I can’t just abandon those that are left here.”
“How many are left?”
“The number dwindles every winter. Last count there where about twenty that came to Kaer Mohen to winter, not all of them wolves. There are also a few stuck in wolf form who live in the woods around Kaer Morhen. We’ve tried to help them but nothing seems to work.”
“I can change them back. I turned Varin into a giant chicken once because he was being an asshole. So transforming them back to their Witcher state shouldn’t be a problem. The problem is if they’ll stay that way. Might be that they’re not stuck. Might be that they’ve grown tired of life on the path and decided they’re better off as wolves. Seen it happen a time or two. Usually from the mistreatment they get from humans. I could quite happily do some really horrible things to whoever started the rumour that Witchers don’t have feelings.”
“They’re supposed to have been burned out of us during the trails.”
Jaskier actually smacked Geralt upside the head. “Don’t. That’s a load of nonsense. Actually if anything emotions are heightened because believe it or not that is a sense and all senses are heightened. You feel things more intensely than humans. Sometimes though it gets stuck inside and they get trapped where you’re unsure how to express them or are too overwhelmed to do so. Makes it hard to speak for some too. Of course the cats are the only ones who openly admit this. The rest of you all pretend otherwise because of a toxic culture that sprang up long before I was around. You think you had it bad as a kid? It was a lot worse in the past. Most the outright abusive ‘training’ was stopped.”
“I find it hard to believe with Witchers like Varin training us.”
“They used to all be like him… except Vesemir. He was always fair from everything I heard. Varin was just an asshole they had to confine to the keep and had to give him something to do while there. He learned not to mess with me though. The chicken incident just being the last in a long line of shit I did to him when he was being an ass.
“Actually I was the reason a lot of it got stopped. The mages never paid much attention to how they trained new Witchers until Vesemir decided I was old enough to be put in training with them. They where horrified by the shear number of boys who died before the grasses just because they hadn’t been fed enough, or exposed too long to the cold, or beaten for no good reason. Dad didn’t believe me at first when I told him about it, so I went to Dagobert, then Reidrich. Eventually I made enough of a fuss with them they checked it out, watching through magical means.
“They pretty much unanimously told Rennes they where leaving if they didn’t stop all of that. He came up with some bullshit excuse about selecting the toughest of the boys. Then my father informed him that there is nothing tough about surviving all that, mostly just luck. They wanted healthy boys for the trails and if they stop killing them off maybe they’d have more pass and their low success rate probably has everything to do with malnutrition. He wasn’t wrong about that. That was just part of the puzzle though. The rest was in quantity of elder blood, freely given, and different mutagens, and a touch of original genetics. If you have some elven or fae in you you’re more likely to make it. Or some chaos.”
“Like Eskel. He’s always been good with signs.”
“It’s also how I was able to teach him how to do some minor magic like glamours. Same with you. Actually you got more raw chaos than Eskel. Just Eskel has better control of his,” Jaskier proclaims to Geralt who just looks sceptically at him, “It’s true. I’ve had a closer look at both of your magical cores than most. I did the grasses on you twice, and the dreams on Eskel. Did my best to make sure you both maintained access to it. Hence why you both can do more than signs. I’m just surprised you both still talked to me after, yet alone became my friends.”
“If you didn’t do it one of the others would have. You where also known for being gentler about it than the others, actually trying to dull the pain, and had the highest success rate. It’s why I begged you to do my second round of grasses. Never trusted Reidrich. Besides you may have been one of the mages officially by the time I came along, but you where always one of us. You didn’t hold yourself above us lowly Witchers unlike Reidrich or Dagobert. Your father wasn’t so bad either, if a bit scatterbrained. But you Jules, you ran the walls with us as punishment like the rest of us when we got in trouble. Got stuck in the middle of whatever childish mischief that was being planned. Protected us from people like Varin. I’m also convinced you’re responsible for most of Vesemir’s grey hair. After all I can quite reliably say you’re responsible for my own hair going white.”
“It really wasn’t supposed to do that.”
“Relax it’s a joke. I have been known to make those on occasion. I got used to it a long time ago.”
“You joke? Actually you’re communicating in more than grunts. Are you ok? You haven’t been cursed with gift of the gab or something?” Jaskier asked sarcastically.
“Hmn,” Geralt grunted also sarcastically.
“Now that’s more like the Witcher I know and love,” Jaskier replied, grinning.

Sometimes she SURPRISES herself when she gets home and he's there, like it should be the most normal thing in the world, or maybe it should be the opposite of it, but it's not. She's...gotten used to having him around, even if they don't see each other much, calculating how many groceries she needs to buy with Draco in mind.
It's should be weird, and sometimes it is, but not as much as one would EXPECT. "I was thinking about pasta with a tomato vegetable sauce," she offers him a smile, heading towards the fridge. "We've still got a lot of left over vegetables, like zucchini and bell pepper, those work well in a pasta sauce, don't you think?" Putting the vegetables onto the table, Hermione nods towards the food cupboard, "Do you think you could get the pasta? It's a little high for me to reach," She should consider not putting essential stuff up there, maybe, but she doesn't have to rely on herself as much these days with Draco around to help, so she doesn't.
@amicitxa: cont.
Draco does pay his dues. In fact, he’s paid a year ahead even if he wouldn’t be living there. And he helps get groceries, which works out because ofttimes Hermione is busier than him, which is saying something considering his own schedule. They make it work. It almost feels normal. And her being home more now won’t change anything, al least, Draco thinks that it won’t.
He cleans up his mess on the counter, he’s had books scattered about as he studies at the island. Sometimes he gets stir crazy in his room and roams out into the living area to study instead. He supposes that they’ll both have to get used to each others company around there.
“Not yet. I could help if you like? You’d be surprised how good of a meal I can make.” Draco smiles despite himself because it’s true. While they’d had house elves, he’d gone around teaching himself how to do things. He hadn’t wanted to rely on them like his parents did. Besides, growing up, he’d had to entertain himself and learned to cook was a good way to do that. “What were you going to make?”

I’m pushing out another one of my long-since-drafted things to the queue bc I’m trying to start keeping the queue active 24/7 and fill more asks but have this in the meantime
//dark shit, like the blood gore violence kind of yandere not the hot kind, brief animal death, gruesome slow npc death, gore, violence, blood, decaying/putrefaction mention
I'm really bad at judging what's mild versus severe when it comes to gore/blood bc I tend to underestimate, I think this is kinda severe? Let me know which it is actually pls so I have a better idea for the future ---------------------------------------- I mentioned a while back in the corpse disposal post and murder methods post that Razor can be... Brutal to say the least, but to expand more on the concept I feel like there's a big potential for a sort of gap moe with him, a duality that seems to contradict itself. Because in many ways he's a sweetheart, always trying to find things to make you happy, often smiling with those wide, excited eyes, physically affectionate with nuzzles and the like. But the other side of that, he's not actually aware of how... desensitized he is. You notice it early on and it catches you off guard a bit the first time it happens. Some poor little animal you two see struggling, like a bird stuck in a tree, and you urge him to go get it and he nods and says ok. Grabs it, and just as you're about to thank him and let it go you hear its little bones snap under the crush of his grip with a final pained chirp. There, he got it, see? Now you two can eat it together. That was why you wanted him to grab it right? To kill it? Why else? He looks down and realizes oh, it's still twitching, so he reached a hand up and twists its neck. There, now it's dead, he says with a beaming smile. But it falls and he tilts his head when he sees the shocked look on your face. What's wrong? Why are you so upset? You soon learn a lot of the animals don't... die immediately. The little things the wolves drag back are still kicking and struggling, still making noises as they tear into them to devour. It makes you sick to your stomach when you witness it, tears come to your eyes. He knows you don't like it and warns you, but... he doesn't understand why? Why does it upset you like that? He doesn't get it. It's a gnawing awareness in the back of your mind. You start to pick up on his... lack of reactions to certain things. You were once in the church getting healing for a minor wound of his when another group of adventurers came rushing through the doors, desperately begging for help for their friend they were carrying... some guy seriously injured, gored by a boar. The sight is burned in your mind forever, the organs spilling out of his split gut, the shivering and wide, bloodshot eyes, the blood bubbling out of his mouth with choked horrific groans and the way his body convulsed involuntarily. The most horrid thing you'd ever seen. And you were pretty certain it was that way for everyone. Everyone in the church was gasping, some people were retching and trying to hold back sickness, people ran out of the room as they were unable to handle the scene, tears were in everyone's eyes, and as the man wailed in agony from them setting his dislocated bones, you watched the bystanders cringe and wince. Every person in the vicinity was visibly horrified.... except for one. Razor's face was neutral. Curious. He leaned in closer to get a better look, eyebrows raised. He doesn't flinch at the sight of organs spilling onto the ground and the man starting to convulse and foam at the mouth as his eyes roll back into his head. And then, after a moment, he asks if you're ready to leave, says he feels better now and that man is really loud, he doesn't like it. His voice doesn't even have the slightest hint of a wavering or discomfort. When you come across a man in the woods caught in a bear trap, you can barely stand to look at it. Just hearing the cries for help had you shivering, and the sight of the pooling blood and utter agony on the man's face had you gasping, hand over your mouth as you tried to look away. ...Razor didn't seem to mind, though. He just undoes the trap and, without giving the man any warning, yanks it apart, pulling the spikes from his legs. As he does, blood shoots out and splatters on his face. He doesn't flinch, nor when the man screams. He does finally seem to react to the pained groans the man makes. But... It's not like your reactions. He's not flinching and grimacing, drawing in sharp breaths and tensing up, eyes watering in pity and shock like you. Instead, his eyes narrow and he puts his hands over his ears as you stoop down to help the poor man. His eyebrows furrow. He almost looks... Annoyed. He draws his foot back as if he's about to kick him, but freezes with realization when he looks at you, as if he forgot you were standing there, and puts his foot back down. You're certain he wasn't actually going to do that, of course. You're not sure why he did that, but... He wouldn't do something like that, even in a moment of dissociation from his human awareness. He does volunteer to be the one to go get help, though, getting away fast, but for some reason you sense it was more out of irritation at the noise rather than horror at the whole thing. Perhaps the worst was the decomposing body, that day you took a walk in the woods together. He smelled it first, nose wrinkling up in disgust at the putrid smell. But it was strong enough that you smelled it soon after. He says having dead animals this close to the residence of the pack is not good, they all hate the smell, so he can try to move the carcass of whatever animal it is... but it's not an animal, it turns out, once you finally find the source, collapsed at the bottom of a cliff from where they most likely fell to their death. Well, it's kind of a stretch to say it still resembles a human either, but you can tell from the general shape. It's more just like a glob, putrefied and rotting flesh falling off the bones. It shocks you so much you fall backwards, but he just moves closer. Ugh, too far rotted to move, he can't do anything about it, he realizes as he gives the decaying mass a kick and watches the blackened flesh slide off the bones. Oh well. ...In your shock, it takes you a moment to realize how... unbothered he seems. Mildly annoyed by the smell, but his expression is neutral as he looks at one of the most horrifying sights you've ever seen, he just yawns as he walks away from it and says you two should get away from the smell, it makes his head hurt.
The events all linger in the back of your head. A growing sense of wrongness, a dark, cold dread that settles in your stomach as the occurrences slowly grow in number, one after the other, each time you notice the complete lack of any sign of disturbance on his face, in his voice or body language. You ask him once, one time when you get the courage to ask such a... potentially offensive question. Don't you... feel anything when you see things dying? When they're in pain? He nods. He gets what you mean. The feeling when you watch something die. Hungry, right? Oh, no? Maybe you mean the irritation, a kind of angry feeling, what's the word... impatient...? Because the thing is taking too long to die and he wants it to go ahead and die already. Or maybe you mean like when that man was injured? When something is dying but it's not something you wanna eat? Yeah, he has a feeling then too. Um... kind of like anger... you taught him the word once... annoyed? They make so much noise, and he doesn't like loud things. When that man came into the church... he didn't like how loud it was. Why didn't they just kill him, since he was making so much noise...? He doesn't get it. When things annoy him, he kills them, like loud birds and biting bugs. He kinda had an urge to just... reach out and make the man stop screaming, just twist his neck like he does small animals when they make too much noise. But he's smart, he says, he knows the other people might get mad. Yes, he uses the word "might," not "would," as if it was a mere possibility. So it doesn't really come as a surprise when the same attitude applies to the people at his own mercy, the people that get too close to you and end up dragged out to the woods. It's that same knowing dread in your gut, and while it horrifies you as much as it always has, you wouldn't have expected anything else. Maybe some people would feel bad about what they're doing, they would want to go ahead and get it over with, they couldn't take the begging and agony the other party is in... but not only is he totally unbothered, but if he kills him now, he says, the blood will go all over the ground, and that's bad, his lupical like eating the blood in things. So he just snaps the man's bones, that way he won't run away. It's hard to describe the excruciated noises that come out of the other's throat when he does. It's unlike any noise you've ever heard a human make, that kind of pain. The sweat that pours from the other's skin from the agony, the way his mouth hangs open even when he can't scream anymore, the trembling and muffled begging as he moves to the next limb. You tremble and cry. You shiver uncontrollably, you whimper for him to stop. Your eyes widen when he grabs each limb and you close your eyes and sob and grimace and cringe with the snapping sound. Razor, on the other hand, stays just as neutral as before. Face blank and empty, as if performing any other mundane task. He doesn't flinch at the snapping. His expression is unchanging at the sound of screams and the groans as he drags the still-living figure behind him by his shattered ankle all the way back home. When he finally goes to look back at you, he tilts his head at the look on your face. Why do you still look upset? There's no blood yet... isn't it blood that makes you upset? Maybe not? Maybe it's the sound that bothers you? Yeah, you flinch whenever the man groans in pain, so it must be the sounds of the dying things that you don't like, it annoys him too really. Ok, that can be fixed... sound comes from the throat right? Well, he left his claymore a ways away so, it'll just take a second, the guy is thrashing a bit but eventually he holds him still enough to get his teeth latched around his throat and just... bites down. The sound is a squelching, crunching sound, one that you'll never forget, it makes every hair on your body stand on end and your skin crawl. He pulls back with the mass of bleeding flesh and tracheal tissue in his jaws and spits it out on the ground. There, see...? You can see the blood on his teeth reflecting the light as he smiles. He's not making noises anymore, so... why do you still have that look on your face? Is it because the body on the ground is all... spasming and convulsing like that? Well, uh... that'll stop soon, probably. At least it's nice and quiet now. He gets it, really, he doesn't like loud noises either.

Kageyama, Yaku, Kenma and Hinata as sugar daddies.
request: ELLIE YOU CAN'T GET AWAY WITH PUTTING THIS IN MY HEAD AND LEAVING ME LIKE THIS AHSHSUSVSHS,,,, can I request some headcannons for Kageyama, Yaku and Kenma as sugar daddies? Or Hinata!!! Even though he's a sugar baby already shsghsbas ;;; Or you can choose whichever you like best between them??? I will be happy with every crumb I can get 🙏
warnings: mentions of s*x and sugar daddy/sugar baby relationships, hoshuimi is a nosy bitch, yaku has the confidence of a god (must be a leo thing) kenma is so cute ahhh, Hinata just wants someone to love and call mommy, i really love this. implied fem!reader for hinata, although i guess you could call a gn person or a male reader mommy. whatever floats your boat.
a/n: this was very fun. ;)
Kageyama:
what the fuck
how did he even get a sugar baby?
great question
it happened because he had a fuckton of money and had no idea what to do with it
and hoshuimi, of course
cause hoshiumi's a nosy lil bitch
saw kageyama checking his bank account app on his phone and was like
WHAT THE FUCK WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MUCH MONEY
it's cause he never spends it
hoshuimi offhandedly tells him he should get a sugar baby
later that night kageyama googles what a sugar baby is
he's shook
doesn't think about it for months
until he gets this ad for a "meet sugar babies" website on a volleyball video he was watching
he thinks oh hell, why not
so he signs up, and meets you
he's so awkward oh my god
but you think it's adorable, and you're glad he's not some old dude
he doesn't know what to do so he asks you a lot of questions about what you like and stuff
the first thing he sends you, i kid you not, was a fucking volleyball
you call and ask him about it and he's like:
"it's the best quality"
you keep it.
eventually he starts sending you stuff you ask for, which works out better for both of you
you help him with the concept of a 'luxury life'
eventually gets a black card and literally just says:
"please use it for me, i don't know how"
and you're like damn okay
the first time you attempt to do something sexual he literally short circuits
you have to explain to him that a sugar baby usually repays their sugar daddy/mommy with sexual favors
he makes the 😮 face
he didn't even think you were sexually interested in him?
he'd be lying if he didn't think you were the most beautiful thing he's ever seen
and he's definitely had some um, not so pure dreams about you
and definitely jacked off to the pictures you've sent him
which he just thought was to show him what you liked
so god if he didn't fucking jump your bones right then and there
it was uh, intense, to say the least
best sex of your life
and the cuddles afterwards? on point.
you two get very attached
he really really likes you
introduces you to the team
which was embarrassing
eventually, you decide you want to become financially independent, and so you tell him you want to cancel the agreement
he fucking cries
he so desperately doesn't want to lose you
cause he's fallen in love with you
he tells you about all of the feelings and how you make him want to do anything for you and he's sobbing while telling you
you're shook, because you've kinda been developing feelings too
so you're like, okay, no sugar daddy stuff, be my boyfriend instead
total 180°
tackles you and holds you, on the floor, for like 3 hours
he still spoils you, it's a habit of his now
but you don't really mind, because you have one hell of a man by your side
(gimmie a kageyama pls)
Yaku:
knows exactly what he's doing and knows exactly what he wants.
You.
he probably met you at some sort of event, you going because you were the personal manager for some really weird guy there
he knew he wanted you the second he saw you
and he was straight up about it too
we're talking like walking up to you and saying:
"quit your job, let me take care of you."
and you're surprised, because who just says that?
you don't even know what happened, but you said yes
quit your job that night, and left with him
yeah, you fucked on the first night but so what?
he is the best sugar daddy omg
he already knows what you like just by looking at you
(no he doesn't, he's just called Alisa so many times she swears her phone is gonna break)
he's more of a surprising you with what he's gonna buy kind of guy, but he always enjoys when you surprise him
he takes you everywhere with him
he has a game in another country? you're going. guaranteed.
he just always wants to be near you
it's clearly more than a sugar daddy/sugar baby relationship from the start
and he likes it that way
he just doesn't want to make you uncomfortable, so he doesn't say anything
you two fuck....a lot
it's clearly not because of the arrangement anymore
you're just naturally drawn to each other
it's intense
and you spend a lot of time together, not only because he literally takes you everywhere
just because you like it
there'll be periods of time where he doesn't buy you anything and you don't buy anything either, but you still stick around and you still have sex
and that's when he knows you actually have feelings for him
HE'S SO HAPPY OMG
you've been in the arrangement for several years
you're practically dating
and so one day he just asks you to marry him and you're like
fuck yes
who wouldn't want to marry yaku morisuke?
cause i sure as hell want to marry him
Kenma:
i think kenma likes to watch twitch streams in the background while he's playing his games
it's just relaxing
with a fake account, of course, he didn't need all the hype from when he joined their stream
one day, a streamer he was watching ended their steam and raided yours
he first heard your voice and was SHOOK
you had the prettiest voice he'd ever heard
so he looked at his computer screen and nearly died
how could someone have such a pretty voice and a pretty face?
wildly unfair, he thought to himself
at first it was just a low-key thing
he'd watch your streams, whenever you were streaming
it was a miracle you two never streamed at the same time
you were just his go to relaxation method
one day, he heard you mention offhandedly that you were struggling with money
and so you know what he did?
donated 10k
he was already basically in love with you, so why not help you out?
and your reaction was perfect
you started smiling so hard, and thanking him over and over
it put a smile on his face for the next week, kuroo though he was sick
and he did it again, the week after
and again
and again
and so finally you messaged him asking why he kept sending you so much money
and he just sent you his number, with the message "call me"
you were so nervous
but you did
AND OH MY GOD IT WAS KODZUKEN?
WHAT?
you were such a big fan
and you really didn't know what to do
he was ever so kind, (lmao no) and just said:
"let me take care of you. i don't want you to ever have to stop streaming and go find a job that makes you more money."
you're so surprised you can't even speak
WHO SAYS THAT??
KENMA FUCKING KOZUME, APPARENTLY
you agree so hesitantly, and he notices
"you deserve it, please don't feel bad. i want to spend my money on you."
"o-okay"
"good."
and so that's exactly what he does, he'll just send you money every week
and little trinkets too, stuff you've mentioned in your streams or in the calls you'll have
you don't live close at all, but you wanted to meet up
he was sooooo nervous
kuroo, yet again, thought he was sick
and he probably was
but he came to you, and you just walked around a little, you showing him your favorite things about your city
he was just staring at you the whole time
he had come to stay with you for a week
and insisted that you stayed in a hotel with him, even though your house was literally right there
you slept in different beds
until one night you just got really paranoid about the horror game you played earlier
so you walked over and just got into bed with him
he was half asleep, but all he knew was the person of his dreams was laying in a bed next to him and he would hate himself in the morning if he didn't hold you close as physically possible
you woke up in each other's arms
annnnd that's when you both knew you were done for
he asked you to move in the day before he left
you said yes
(now i want a kenma too)
Hinata:
oh my god what a baby
he just wanted someone to be with, really
atsumu was the one who suggested it
after kenma stopped sponsoring Hinata, he ended up learning how to manage his money and he was really good at it??
he invested well and now had a loooot of money
he was talking about his money like a Grown Man
and atsumu was like,
"do ya spend any of it?"
"yeah, on my investments"
"no, i meant like on yourself"
"well for food and stuff"
"LIKE FOR ENJOYMENT"
"m-my gym membership?"
"oh my fucking god"
so atsumu tells him to get a sugar baby
"a baby? i don't have the time for a child!!!"
queue atsumu literally dying inside
he shows Hinata an app and is like,
"don't worry, they're all grown"
"oh"
so atsumu helps him fill out the profile for the app
atsumu uwu's inside when he sees Hinata checked the box for 'emotional fulfillment only'
cause like, what a precious baby
anyway, a couple hours later he gets a match
and he's like
"WOAH ATSUMU LOOK LOOK HOW PRETTY THEY ARE"
"damn, okay hinata, nice kill"
he's so happy to find someone to talk to besides his family and volleyball friends
you two talk
ALL
THE
TIME
and he sends you the cutest things omg
like a little plushie he saw? in the mail the next day
some MSBY merch? yeah, he's sending that too
little snacks he thinks you'd like? yep, those are going too
he sends you the stereotypical sugar baby stuff too, like pretty dresses and suits and lingerie and jewelry
he was blushing so hard when he tried to put the lingerie in the mail, atsumu had to do it for him
a couple days later, you send him a picture of you wearing it
he
wow
sure, he knew you were pretty, and was undeniably physically attracted to you
but he'd never felt like that
he took the LONGEST shower
he couldn't even message you till the next morning because he knew he'd have to look at the picture and god he'd never get to bed if he looked at it any more
he was surprised in the morning when he had messages from you saying sorry and that you shouldn't have sent it and that you didn't mean to make him uncomfortable
that you would understand if he wanted to call off the arrangement
he was like WHAT???? NOOOO
so he drives alll the way to where you live and pounds on your door
you're like hinata what?
"PLEASE DON'T THINK THAT I HATE YOU AND WANT TO CANCEL THE ARRANGEMENT I JUST DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO YOU LOOKED SO PRETTY AND I JUST I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT AND THEN I STARTED THINKING ABOUT BAD THINGS LIKE WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE IF YOU DID NAUGHTY THINGS TO ME AND I WANT IT I WANT IT REALLY BAD I-"
you're kissing him
wait
YOU'RE KISSING HIM???
holyshitholyshitholyshitholyshit
he doesn't know what to do
he's desperately trying to process what you're doing, but with your tongue shoved down his throat that's a little hard
so you know what he does?
he fucking whines
and you're like ohhhh shittttt
yeah you fuck
and you get the nickname mommy
which you love
such a sweet relationship
yes, relationship
you got together
he's so happy
looks like he got laid all the time
(which he usually did, but that's beside the point)
he's just giddy
and it's the cutest thing
10/10 relationship, please cherish him forever
(now i want a kageyama, yaku, kenma and a hinata DAMNIT)
oh my god this was so fun and perfect

Looking at me - Arthur Leclerc
Thank you so much for requesting! I already had an idea in my head for something like this and you just gave that last push! It was my first time writing in third person, and I really-really need the practice. Still I hope you will enjoy this 😀🧡 Have a great weekend everyone!
Inspiration song

Getting a chance to walk a well known fashion show at the age of 19 was a huge step in her career. She had jobs and photoshoots all the time, but everyone knew that you’re becoming a name in the industry when well known brands ask you to model for them. She already had a photoshoot with one of them a year ago, but having that break since then and now made her think she probably wouldn’t make it into the real fashion world. However, after Alpha Tauri gave her a chance thanks to Pierre, she was contacted by a well known brand just days after the release of the pictures and they asked her to attend their show at the end of the year. Having the promise of such a big show got her through every harder moment throughout the year and she felt like December couldn’t turn up quick enough.
Luckily as it was well after the end of the season for Pierre he could attend with their parents and siblings. She couldn’t even imagine going through something like this without them. Y/N used her last two guest seats to invite both Charles and Arthur. They were friends of their family and she knew Charles was into fashion and would always take the opportunity to attend shows. He probably could have bought tickets to it himself, but it wasn’t the same as being invited by someone who worked for the company that time. It was also probably the only way to make it seem less strange that Y/N would have liked Arthur to attend. No one asked questions why he was there if he came with his brother. There’s no easier way to do it.
The two of them were quite good friends, as they spent most of their childhood together and later could connect over being younger siblings to well known athletes. It was probably easier for her as she at least went her own way while Arthur was following in Charles’ footsteps, exactly. He was a talented driver, but people and the media always loved to compare the brothers, always bringing down at least one of them even though they were never really in the same championship or position at the same time. They usually talked at least weekly, but after harder races or attacks from the media either Y/N reached out to him or the other way around. It was just easy to support each other as they understood each other’s challenges and hardships. They couldn’t complain though, as both had family and other friends who supported them in their careers and personal lives also.
“ They’re outside. ” Pierre’s voice got her to jump in her chair a little before Y/N took in what he said. “ I’ll get them to the seats and we will meet after the show, yeah? ” He asked, taking the passes from the table next to her. She knew they wouldn’t have time for her to greet their friends and get back here in time.
“ Yeah, thank you. Enjoy. ” Y/N nodded with a grin before getting a kiss on her cheek from him. “ I’m gonna try not to trip. ” She added with a chuckle before he left, watching as he closed the door after himself while she could still hear him laugh. She leaned back in her seat as everything was already done for the show, and it was now just minutes until the start of the show.
She finally chose a photo from the morning when we arrived at the avenue, to share it on her story. Making sure it uploaded fine she could see Arthur’s profile picture in the bottom left, telling her that he already saw it, making her smile immediately. Y/N sent him a quick selfie with her eyes closed and holding up a peace sign as the grin still didn’t leave her face. She was just about to put her phone down when he sent one back, mimicking her pose and making her laugh out loud. He did look silly and seeing Pierre so confused in the background of it just made it even better. She wanted to respond but then had to leave when they were calling her name from the hallway. With one last deep breath she fixed her hair in the mirror before leaving the dressing room and following all the girls to the backstage.
She felt like an anxious mess right until it was her turn and had to step out onto the stage as they counted down for her from the sideline. She made sure her dress wasn’t in the way of her steps, although knew they practiced for any possible outcome and knew she would manage even in a dodgy situation. Her heart was beating so loud Y/N wouldn’t have been surprised if the people watching the show could hear it over all the music and talking. She still tried to look cool on the outside, her grin not faltering for one bit as she walked down the length of the stage stopping at the end and turning for the cameras. Her way back was a bit more relaxed already, knowing she did her job and just had to get back from where they started. She had one more dress at the end of the show but that seemed a lot easier after such a smooth sailing first appearance. The second one felt like a treat for a job well done and she was ecstatic as she changed into her outfit for the after party. Her body felt sore from all the excitement and then adrenaline that already left. However, her mind was still running and looking forward to the night as she went to the lobby where she knew the others would be waiting for her.
“ You looked stunning out there, Y/N! ” Charles greeted her with a tight hug, making her chuckle quietly. Stepping back from his embrace the next ones were Pierre and her family before Y/N could finally turn to Arthur, not forgetting about him in any way.
“ Thank you for coming. ” Y/N said before hugging him, although it was something that was for his brother too, not just him. “ Hope you’re not too tired yet. We have a long night ahead of us. ” She let out another laugh after letting go of him but she didn’t even get to step away too much before he held up a bouquet of blooming flowers.
“ Just a little congratulatory present. Wanted to give it to you prior to the show, but that didn’t really work out. ” He said with a little blush creeping up onto his cheeks, as she took the flowers from his hands, immediately smelling them.
“ Thank you, they’re beautiful. ” Her eyes were still fixed on the bunch of them, taking in how sweet it was of Arthur. It was made from all of her favourite types of flowers, not missing any from the short list she could make up in her head. “ I’ll make sure they get home safe. Wouldn’t want to kill them at the club. ” Y/N let out a little laugh, turning to her mum while they exited the building together.
Luckily her family offered to take her things back home while they went straight to the venue of the after party. Her other siblings went home too after some last minute hugs, leaving the four of them to be the only ones to attend. There were cars that took the guests to the rooftop bar that was decorated perfectly for the occasion. The moon was shining onto the balcony, but there were also lights running over them, making sure everything was visible and people wouldn’t trip over each other or the few steps around the bar and dancefloor. It was the perfect setting for a party that was relaxed but at the same time a true after party, where everyone could let out their pent up energy and adrenaline from the show.
Minutes after they left the elevator, that took them to the floor of the balcony, they were already standing next to a table with their drinks on it. They were watching the crowd dancing just inches away from them while discussing the day. Pierre and Charles were deep into one of their usual disagreements about their past season, making Y/N shake her head. It wouldn’t have been them if they got through a day spent together without a silly argument. That would have been too easy. She has been watching the crowd blocking out the bickering coming from next to her, gathering courage to join the dancing even though she never backed off being the center of attention it wasn’t the same with strangers. She knew just a few people from here, almost half of it being the ones she invited herself.
“ A dance? ” She turned to Arthur in the end when she could see that his glass was empty. He froze for a second, looking around them. “ You don’t have to, but I would rather turn deaf from the loud music than them roasting each other. ” She chuckled, cocking her head towards her brother and Charles standing across them. She took the last sip of her drink and was about to get into the crowd when Arthur nodded and putting down the glass from his hand was ready to follow her.
“ I’m not a big dancer, I’m warning you. ” Arthur sighed, but wouldn’t have denied himself the chance to spend some time with her in a more private setting. They never mentioned anything about stepping up their friendship, but that didn’t mean they never thought about separately, in their own heads.
Y/N took his hand with a grin, pulling him towards the dance floor, weaving through the people standing close, leaving them a sliver of space to navigate their way. They had to stop a few times people stumbling in their way or bumping into them while they were getting closer to their destination. Y/N saw two of the girls she knew a bit better, and decided it will be better to be with friends than alone. Arthur greeted them, quickly introducing himself and even though they were already safe, standing in a less crowded space, in the moment Y/N didn’t let go of his hand while they enjoyed the music and the company. Arthur did take part in the dancing, although several of his moves ended up making them laugh and him blush a little although it never made him stop. He was happy to be the source of their joy for the night.
A few songs later Arthur excused himself from the group to get a drink for himself, while the girls stayed in the same position. Y/N spotted a few guys just seconds after he left, watching them, and approaching their group as soon as Arthur was out of the view. They were quite rude, not caring about how the girls tried to ignore them and get them to leave finally. Y/N was about to just leave and not even look back when she felt a hand come around her waist. Without looking up at the owner of the hand she got to know who was standing behind her by just the voice.
“ I think you should search for another company. The ladies aren’t interested. ” Arthur informed the intruders and by knowing him for years, Y/N could tell he was really focusing on the pronunciation. He seemed serious, like never before and it did the trick, getting the guys to turn around and leave mumbling some swears in his way.
“ Thank you! For both. ” Y/N smiled up at their saviour, taking the half full glass from his hand as he held it out for her. Arthur just shrugged his shoulders, relaxing his shoulders and taking a sip from his drink.
What they didn’t see was Pierre and Charles paying close attention to their group from afar. Her brother still had his fists clenched but he was slowly letting up as the situation got resolved and the younger ones could continue enjoying the party and drinks. Looking at each other they agreed with a sigh at being glad Arthur was there with them and helped them get out of a sticky situation. From the outside they did see how the younger Leclerc and Y/N were around each other, although neither of them wanted to push them towards a goal. It seemed simple, inevitable, but they wanted them to find their own way. It wasn’t rare that the only possible way wasn’t the best way in the end. Meaning, even if they looked compatible for an outsider, it was possible that a relationship between them wouldn’t be long-lived.
They stayed until their legs felt sore from dancing and standing around, and their minds were in a comfortable fuzzy state from the few drinks they got. The night wasn’t young anymore when they got into a taxi, heading for Pierre’s apartment that had enough space for all four of them. They all took turns in the shower and decided on who will sleep and where. There was only one guest bedroom and in the end Charles gladly gave it up to Y/N saying she was the one who worked today, taking the couch with a duvet and a pillow. She was about to just go and finally get a chance to fall asleep, when Arthur stepped out of the bathroom now in his pajamas. For a second she debated if she should just let him sleep on the other couch or maybe act on her idea.
“ We can share the bed if you would like. It's big enough for two people. ” She offered in the end, with a shy smile, pointing towards the bedroom down the hallway. “ I promise I won’t snore. Unlike Charl. ” Y/N let out a quiet laugh, making sure the mentioned brother didn’t hear it and wouldn’t try to get back at her for it.
Arthur had to agree with a sigh that sleeping in the same room as her brother, would have been on the same level as some late torture methods. He couldn’t really deny the offer, taking his things as they wished goodnight to the others and walked down to the bedroom. Within seconds they were both under the duvet, managing to share it and not pull it off the other one. They did start out quite far away from each other, but Y/N couldn’t be fed up when she woke up in the middle of the night to an arm draping over her waist. It grounded her while she had to get used to her surroundings and helped her get back to her dream right until the delicious smell of lunch got them back to reality around midday. They shared a moment, gazes locking, before getting out of bed with grins on their faces, both deciding to push the conversation to another time. At least until lunch, as Y/N’s stomach grumbled as soon as she was standing next to the bed.

how did you get an invite? ( Lucius ) @familyname
Hermione isn’t SURPRISED to find the other here, though she does have to admit that he’s paying any attention to her at all. She’s by far the only muggleborn here, but probably the only one who’s somehow annoyed him in the past. “I truly don’t know how any of that is your concern,” She finally says, regarding the other and ignoring the way her stomach coiled a little tighter in itself. “But maybe that is a question for the host, is it not?”

“Oh my g-” you cried out, grinding your ass into the bed and your lover’s tongue. “I’m gonna...I’m gonna…”
You came seconds later, with such force that your cries of pleasure died in your throat. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head and you gasped for air, your lover smugly sucking at your thighs.
You laid there, body twitching and overstimulated, going over the events of the past few hours.
You couldn’t believe what you were doing.
You couldn’t believe what you’d done .
_____
It started with a revelation that changed your world forever.
Your boyfriend took your hand in his and, gently, ended your relationship. You were too delicate, too sweet. He wanted someone who challenged him, who didn’t blush, who wore stiletto heels and red lipstick and slipped off her underwear in public.
Incredibly ironic, now that you thought about it.
The breakup hit you hard, leaving your friends more than a little worried about you. Their solution was to drag you to a nightclub in search of a one night stand, the prospect of which left you nervous. You weren’t used to such loud places, being surrounded by so many strangers.
It was all too much for you after barely twenty minutes and you excused yourself from the table, heading into the nearest washroom to freshen up your makeup and gather your nerves. You reapplied your eyeliner, your mascara, your lipstick, trying to drag out the process for as long as possible. You could think of nothing worse than sitting back down at the table and scoping out strangers with your friends. You just wanted to be home, watching Netflix in your pyjamas.
You stepped back out into the club, taking a deep breath and bracing yourself for whatever might happen next. You wondered how you could avoid it even more. How else could you waste your time?
As if in response, a commotion broke out at the bar.
You glanced in that direction, taking note of the crowds of people and single bartender, an idea coming to mind. You pulled out your phone and loaded the group chat, sending a single message to your friends.
>>I’m going to grab drinks. Any preferences?
Rei wanted shots, Sayaka wanted a Cosmopolitan, Yuiko wanted beer and you felt more than little smug as you joined the back of the queue. If you played your cards right, you’d be stuck there for at least half an hour.
You didn’t bother to try and push to the front, quite happy to take your time. Unfortunately, while this was a good idea in theory, it had dire consequences in practise. A girl in stiletto heels tripped as she left the crowd, sending her drinks into the air and glasses smashing to the floor. Everyone jumped back, yourself included, though you weren’t fast enough. Within seconds your dress was soaked in a combination of soda, sliced lemon and alcohol.
You cried out in shock, the ice from the drinks cold against your skin and your dress almost certainly ruined.
“I’m so sorry,” cried out the girl who had dropped them, “I-I didn’t mean to!”
You wanted to tell her it was fine, but the chill of the ice left you unable to form words. Instead you reached to wipe the alcohol from your face, breathing a heavy sigh.
For lack of a better option, you returned to the bathroom, sitting up onto the sink to squeeze out as much liquid as you could. You were fairly certain you had never looked such a mess in your life: you had soda on your shoes, mascara dripping down your face and ice in your purse. You reached for your makeup bag, meaning to try and salvage your face at least, only to give up and wash everything off.
You reached for your phone and updated the messenger, realising an opportunity when you saw one.
>>Change of plan. Someone dropped their drinks on me, so I’m going home to change.
>>Did you want me to come with you?
>>Nope, I’ll be fine.
_____
You promised to call your friends once you got to the train station, though only halfheartedly. By then, all you could think about was going home and getting into your pyjamas.
Unfortunately, Lady Luck wasn’t finished with you yet and it began to rain about halfway between your train stop and Ego , a downpour so sharp and sudden that you had little choice but to take shelter in a nearby izakaya.
You hoped that the rain would end just as quickly as it started, but it continued, raindrops hitting the ground with such force that they bounced off the tarmac. You rubbed your hands together and headed for the bar, meaning to order a drink and wait out the storm.
You knew you looked a mess. You were soaked through with a combination of alcohol and rainwater, face still flushed from where you had scrubbed off your makeup. You made a point to preoccupy yourself with checking your emails, concluding that the less attention you drew to yourself, the better.
You deleted the usual spam, accepted the usual appointments, sent a quick message to the group chat and took a long sip of your drink, pointedly avoiding the gaze of everyone around you.
You didn’t notice the stranger approach until they had taken a seat on the bar stool next to you, filling your senses with the sweet scent that seemed to linger around their person.
“Can I get my usual?”
You gave them a nervous side glance, wondering if they were as attractive as their voice, only to find yourself looking at quite possibly the most beautiful woman you’d never seen. She had soft curves and kissable lips and you blushed before you could stop yourself, wishing the earth would swallow you whole. Of all of the times you could run into a hot girl, why did it have to be now?
She took a sip of her drink and turned towards you, seeming to notice you were looking at her. You didn’t manage to look away in time, which only seemed to make her smile. You supposed that for a woman as beautiful as her, this must be an everyday occurrence.
You hoped she didn’t think you were weird, even if you couldn’t blame her.
You turned back to her, meaning to apologise for making her uncomfortable, only to find her smiling at you and resting her head on one hand.
“I’m sensing a story here,” she said. “Come on, join me.”
Perhaps it was her clear blue eyes or the sweet scent that seemed to linger around her. Either way, it was an offer you couldn’t-and didn’t particularly want to- refuse.
_______
Within twenty minutes you were sitting in a corner booth, laughing so hard that tears streamed from your eyes. Nemuri, as she had introduced herself, had ordered food for the table and listened attentively to everything, from your breakup to the disastrous events at Ego . She laughed at all of the right moments and stroked your hair at the more emotional ones, so gently that it sent shivers through your spine and between your thighs.
“And then,” you said, sobbing with laughter, “the drinks just…FWWSH...”
You waved your hands in front of your face, mimicking the way the alcohol had landed, feeling more than a little smug when Nemuri doubled over with laughter.
“I had to pick little umbrellas out of my hair,” you said. “My purse is flooded...it’s like an aquarium…”
“(Name), (Name), oh my god, stop, you’re killing me!”
“At least I didn’t have to queue for a drink. All I have to do is stick in a straw and I’m good to go.”
“PFFFFFFFT!!”
Nemuri clapped her hands over her mouth, shoulders quaking with silent giggles. You couldn’t help but join in, the absurdity of everything finally sinking in.
You wiped the tears from your eyes and gasped for air, Nemuri draping an arm across your shoulders.
“Listen to me,” she said, “men are dogs. You can do so much better than him.”
She said it so confidently that you almost believed her, in awe of how certain she sounded.
“You think so?”
“I know so,” she said, giving your cheek a gentle squeeze. “Now. Let’s fix you up.”
____
A few minutes later you were sitting on the counter in the izakaya’s washroom, Nemuri wiping away what remained of your ruined makeup.
“You have such pretty eyes, (Name),” she said, stroking her fingers through your hair so softly that shivers ran up your spine, “has anyone ever told you that?”
You shook your head and she looked genuinely offended.
“People don’t know a good thing when it’s right in front of them,” she huffed, stroking a finger from your jaw to your collarbones. You wished that same finger was touching you somewhere else, eyes darting from her hand to her face. She leaned over to kiss you as if she’d read your mind and you were sure your heart was going to burst. You froze in place, terrified that the moment you blinked it’d be over.
“Sorry,” she said, taking a step back, “did I misunderstand?”
“No,” you breathed, “no, that’s not it. It’s just...I’ve never…”
You’d never been arrested. You’d never dyed your hair a shocking colour or gotten a tattoo. You’d definitely never made out with another girl, no matter how much you might have wanted to.
Nemuri nodded in understanding, setting aside your purse and easing you down to the floor, turning you round to face yourself in the mirror.
“Would you like to?” she whispered in your ear, leaning over to kiss the back of your neck.
“I…”
You couldn’t believe this was really happening; couldn’t believe this had ever been an option.
You nodded before you could stop yourself.
______
“Oh my g-” you cried out, grinding your ass into the bed and your lover’s tongue. “I’m gonna...I’m gonna…”
You came seconds later, with such force that your cries of pleasure died in your throat. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head and you gasped for air, your lover smugly sucking at your thighs.
Nemuri’s apartment was a short train ride from the izakaya and you had followed her to the station in nervous silence. You hadn’t known what to expect. Your only experience of sex was with your ex boyfriend and that had never amounted to much more than a blow job followed by halfhearted thrusts as you laid flat on your back and pretended to moan, whether for his benefit or your own you weren’t quite sure.
Your entire body had trembled with anticipation as Nemuri closed the door behind you. You had arched into her touches as she pushed you back onto her bed and hitched up your skirt, tossing aside your panties and burying her face between your thighs all within a matter of minutes. She moved like an expert, without a hint of doubt in herself or her own abilities. You had never known anything like it and it was almost as intoxicating as the feel of her tongue over your clit.
No one had eaten you out before and at first you were worried that she wouldn’t like the way you tasted. She had quickly picked up on your nervousness, though, sitting up to look at you and slipping a finger between your folds.
“You have such a cute little pussy, (Name),” she had said, choosing her words deliberately to turn your face a shocking red. “I can’t believe you get to sit on it all day.”
You had stumbled over your words at that, watching as she lowered herself back down and played you like a fiddle. Your body all but sang for her and you definitely made a lot of noise, trembling into her every touch without regard for how loud you were being.
And so, there you were, twitching and trembling on a stranger’s bed, watching as she got to her feet and discarded her own clothes. Her body was perfect and you drank all of it in, from the swell of her breasts to the downy hair between her thighs, wanting nothing more than to touch her. You wanted to make her feel as good as she had you, wanted to see how she looked when she fell apart with pleasure.
“Come here, kitten,” she said, guiding you back up onto your knees and lifting your dress up over your head and onto the floor.
“Let me look at you,” she purred, guiding you up the bed, “I want to see you.”
“I want...to see you too,” you said, to which she laughed and stuck out her tongue.
“I said it first,” she said, leaning over to kiss your lips before unhooking your bra.
It was the final barrier between you; the only stitch of clothing you had on. That knowledge left you nervous and you clapped a hand over your chest the moment you were even slightly exposed.
“What is it?” she asked, suddenly concerned.
“It’s...it’s nothing,” you said, though you didn’t uncover yourself either. “You’ll probably think it’s silly…”
She was so beautiful, there was no way she’d understand your conflicting emotions. You wanted so badly for her to see you fully nude, but at the same time feared she’d find you disappointing. How could she not?
“Tell me.”
“It’s just,” you laughed under your breath, “you’re so beautiful and I’m…”
You chewed your bottom lip, remembering what your boyfriend had said to you the day of the breakup. You were sweet, vanilla and boring . You weren’t sexy, you didn’t know how to seduce people and you were amazed you’d gotten this far without her noticing. What if she realised the second your clothes were off?
She frowned, sitting up beside you and stroking her fingers across your face.
“Fuck them,” she said, more than a little venom in her voice.
“What? Who?”
“Whoever it was who convinced you you weren’t enough.”
“I…”
You blushed, not knowing what to say to that.
“Fuck them,” she said again, leaning over to kiss your forehead and then your lips, “fuck whoever taught you to put yourself last.”
She kissed your jawline and then your throat, humming with satisfaction as you lowered the arm that covered your breasts and exposed yourself fully for the first time.
She trailed her lips over your collarbones and down towards your nipples, swirling her tongue over them.
“Fuck whoever let you believe you’re anything less than perfect,” she said, using one hand to cup your breast while she suckled at the other. You sighed into her touches, so gentle and yet they stirred a longing deep within you.
“N-Nemuri,” you said, reaching for her to move back and embrace you, sighing into her lips the second they collided with yours.
You wanted her so badly, wanted her in every sense it was possible to want somebody else. She was only too eager to accept your kisses, rolling over onto her back and allowing you to straddle her.
“Now there’s a good kitten,” she said, reaching up to stroke your cheek before you leaned in to kiss her again. She stroked her fingers over your thighs as you kissed her, hands roaming your body in delight. “You’re such a good kisser…”
“Really?”
“No need to be so modest,” she said, “I think you’ve earned a special treat.”
“Special...treat?”
You peered down into her face for any hint of what you’d earned. She’d already made you cum, what else could she have in store?
“That drawer over there,” she said, “go take a look.”
You turned to the drawer she pointed out, shooting her a look of intrigue before crawling over to it and sliding it open.
“The lube,” she said, sliding a hand over your ass, “and the vibrator. Grab them.”
Your stomach fluttered just at the idea of them; your hands shook when you actually touched them. You swallowed loudly, setting them down in the center of the bed and waiting to see what she did next.
She sat up and took hold of them, uncapping the lube and setting the vibrator to one side.
“Lie back, sweet thing,” she said, patting the closest pillow. “Let me take care of you.”
You obeyed, resting your head and watching as she crawled towards you, intertwining her legs with yours and shifting her weight until your sexes touched. You gasped at the sudden heated intensity, Nemuri sucking in a single heavy breath before dripping lube onto the spot where your bodies collided.
“That’s a good girl,” she said, setting aside the lube and grinding her hips against yours, sending shivers of pleasure ringing through your core.
You moaned at the sensation and Nemuri grinned, grinding herself faster and harder, holding tightly to your legs. You watched her arch her back to keep up the rhythm, breasts bouncing every time her hips hit yours.
“You’re beautiful,” you breathed, reaching up to touch her.
She laughed, tilting her head to one side and gathering her hair over one shoulder.
“Touch me,” she said, taking your hand and guiding it along her waist, your fingers exploring the soft flesh below her belly button. She linked her fingers in yours and ground faster, leaving both of you moaning at the sensation.
She reached for both the lube and the vibrator, giving it a thin coat before slipping it into your hand.
“Hold it right...there,” she said, guiding you to the spot where your clits touched. “Now...hold it straight.”
She switched it on and both of you gasped at the extra stimulation, grinding your hips against the source. Nemuri dug her nails into your legs, gasping as she crushed her clit against the vibrator, a mix of your combined juices and lube dribbling down from your thighs to the bedsheets.
It felt so good. You’d never known it could feel so good.
You sighed in pleasure as your insides turned to jelly. You could think of nothing but the shoskwaves rushing through your core and overpowering your senses. Your ex had never made you cum like this. He’d never tried and you’d never presumed to ask.
“(Name),” said Nemuri, “look at me.”
You gazed up at her, taking in the haze of lust that covered her face, the rise and fall of her chest as she caught her breath.
“You’re beautiful.”
Maybe it was because you were still caught between the buildup of a new orgasm and the freefall of the one before it.
Maybe it was the confidence in her voice, combined with the softness in her expression.
Maybe it was because she had no reason to lie to you.
Whatever it was, you smiled, eyes welling with tears.
You believed her.
___
SEVERAL MONTHS LATER
“Promise?”
Hizashi sighed, waving away Nemuri’s concerns with both hands.
“We promise,” he said. “She’s important to you, we get it.”
Shouta nodded next to him.
“I’ll make sure he doesn’t say anything weird.”
Several months beforehand, Nemuri had come to work in an incredible mood. It had been a while since she’d been in a serious relationship, but something about this new girl was special. So special, in fact, that Nemuri had refused to introduce her or even show off any photos. Hizashi and Shouta (though mostly Hizashi) had had to settle for occasional anecdotes and the smallest slivers of information, leaving the rest to their imagination.
They knew you were a social worker, though didn’t know which company you worked for. They knew your first name, though not your last, rendering any attempts to find you on social media somewhat futile. They knew you drank far too much coffee than was healthy. They knew you had (H/C) hair from the ones you sometimes left on Nemuri’s clothes. They knew you weren’t a pro hero but you were a great cook.
Now that the new term was well underway, she’d finally caved and invited you to the izakaya to drink with them, albeit reluctantly. She was serious about you and convinced they’d say something embarrassing- something relatively innocent that would drive you away.
“What do you mean you’ll make sure I don’t say anything weird?” said Hizashi, more than a little offended. “You know just as many embarrassing stories about Nemuri as I do.”
“Sure,” Shouta shrugged, “but I’m not the one who overshares.”
Hizashi began to protest the point, only to fall silent as an incredibly nervous Nemuri got up to greet someone.
“You made it,” she said, reaching out to wrap her arms around you and planting a kiss on your lips. “I was starting to think you weren’t coming.”
“Sorry, I got caught up at the office.”
Nemuri took a step back, allowing you to step towards the booth and into Hizashi and Shouta’s field of vision. Hizashi’s jaw dropped and Shouta took a lengthy pause before sipping his beer, both examining you from head to toe.
They didn’t know what they’d expected, but it certainly wasn’t you.
“Pleased to finally meet you,” you said, giving them a polite bow. “I’m (Name). Nemuri’s told me so much about you both.”
“Take a seat,” said Nemuri, helping you into the booth and failing to hide her nerves. “I’ll get you something to drink!”
She left you alone with Hizashi and Shouta, though not before making hand signs behind your back.
Don’t ruin this for me.
“So,” you said, giving them both a polite smile. “Come here often?”

Feral Pt.4
Daryl Dixon x OC
Summary: Daryl is on a run with Rick when, in a warehouse, they find a woman who attacks them, and who reminds Daryl to a lioness…or a feral cat, and who doesn’t seem to trust anyone, including them, but Daryl finds himself going back to the warehouse, trying to get that feral to go with him to the prison, and to earn her trust.
Chapter 3/10 Words: 3485
You can find my other fics in my masterlist.
Last chapter…Dana was introduced to the council and around the prison, though she still seems only on ease around Daryl, and it was decided that she’d be hunting and patrolling with him
Daryl was walking through the woods, followed by Dana, who walked silently ,“like a cat”, Daryl had awkwardly joked. It was good that she was able to walk in silence and that it came naturally to her, that way she wouldn’t scare the game. Daryl already had a squirrel hanging from his belt, and was now tracking what he was sure was a rabbit. “Went that way…” He muttered.
“How?” Dana said.
“What?”
“How you know it.”
Daryl looked at her, back at the track and then at Dana again. If he stopped to point at her what was he following and how, the rabbit might go away…but he decided to do it anyway. What was going to be a quick thing, just pointing at Dana what he was seeing, ended up being a longer explanation about the basics of tracking game and hunting…not that Daryl minded it, and it didn’t seem like Dana minded it either, she listened to him with a level of attention that Daryl had barely had anytime before.
Daryl ended up getting a rabbit anyway, and although he was the one doing the tracking, Dana watched and paid attention to everything that he told her and pointed at, seeming in total focus, and Daryl would be lying if he said that he didn’t enjoy it.
“You gotta learn and hunt yourself, uh?” He told her once the rabbit was hanging from his belt. “A cat that can’t hunt makes no sense,” he joked awkwardly and Dana scoffed, but she smirked, and she nudged him with her shoulder. It took Daryl by surprise, and a smile tugged at his lips at seeing her seeming comfortable with him like that, even if it made him feel weird too.
As they patrolled the woods near the prison, Dana spotted a group of edible mushrooms on the ground, tugging at Daryl’s shirt. “Good job, cat,” he said while they picked them up. “We can stew them with the rabbit and the squirrel.” Dana gave him that small smile that always made him smile back and always made his belly do funny things at the idea of her not being that scared and mistrustful anymore. “Let’s go back, alright?” They hadn’t found any threat in the woods, they had gotten a squirrel and a rabbit, and mushrooms, and Dana seemed more at ease…all in all, it had been a good morning.
Some of Dana’s apprehension seemed to be back as they walked into the prison and were around waving people again, but at least she didn’t look like she was about to run away or stab someone if she got scared.
“I’ll show you how to clean and get ready the squirrel and the rabbit, yeah?” Daryl asked and Dana nodded, following him to the kitchen area. Like when he’d been telling her about tracking, Dana watched attentively while he got the pieces ready, and Daryl couldn’t help how it made him nervous, though he tried to control it and to give her some instruction here and there. They had almost finished when Carol walked in.
“You learned to hunt already?” She asked to Dana and Daryl didn’t know if she was joking, but he scoffed.
“She ain’t gonna learn in a day, but she will.” He was sure of it. “But she hunted some mushrooms.”
“Good.” Carol scoffed, but she nodded looking at everything that they had lied out on the kitchen. “We can make a good stew out of this.” She looked at Dana, who seemed guarded again. “I know it’s comfortable if Daryl brings you dinner again, but why don’t you come down to get your own this night? We actually won’t bite you…” She said as she glanced at the bite mark on Daryl’s arm, who rolled his eyes.
“Let’s finish this…” He muttered, back to cleaning the rabbit.
That evening, the dinner was getting served and Daryl was about to go get two bowls, one for himself and another for Dana, when he saw her walking down the stairs to the cafeteria area, looking around and seeming like she might run away and retreat, but she nodded at the people who waved at her, and made her way to the queue for the food. Daryl smiled at her, nodding encouragingly, and she gave him that brief, tiny smile, even if she seemed anxious.
Once she had her food, Dana looked at the table where Michonne, Rick, Glenn and Maggie were sat down, but finally she rushed away and up the stairs towards the cells. It was progress, though. Daryl noticed Rick looking at him and nodding with a small smile, he’d seen Dana too. Taking his bowl, Daryl went to sit down with them, Michonne was probably leaving in the morning and he wanted to talk to her before, but he rushed through his stew to go see Dana once he was finished.
Once in front of her cell, though, he didn’t know what to say. “You did well” he finally murmured awkwardly and Dana just shrugged, seeming awkward too. “Give me your bowl, I’ll wash it.”
“Don’t have to,” Dana muttered.
“I know, but I’m going to.” Daryl shrugged.
“Thanks…” Dana said, handing him the bowl.
“Ain’t nothing…I’ll see you in the morning, alright? Maybe we’ll find a deer tomorrow,” he said content when Dana gave him that small smile. “So, get some rest.”
*
The next couple of days, Daryl kept taking Dana hunting and patrolling with him, pointing trails to her, showing her how to track and hunt, and she kept listening attentively to all he had to show her, and so Daryl was confident that she’d be able to eventually track by herself. It’d be good to have another tracker and hunter, in case something happened to him, Michonne was not bad at tracking, but with her coming and going all the time, it’d be good that someone else learned to track too. Daryl had told Rick a couple of times, but even if he wanted to, he’d always been too busy first leading then with the gardens and whatnot.
Dana, though, seemed to give him her undivided attention now while they tracked and hunted, and also once they were back inside the prison and he showed her how to clean and cut his kills, letting her do it too.
Dana seemed a bit more at ease at the prison, and although sometimes she seemed anxious, she didn’t seem to think that someone would attack her there anymore or that she was unsafe, but she still spent most of the time around Daryl…for how much he’d thought he wanted his time alone, he still found that he didn’t mind to have her around, most of the time he didn’t even notice her, just a silent presence near him, and if it helped her to feel better, he wasn’t going to complain.
When she wasn’t with him, she was usually locked in her cell, reading a book that Beth had given her. She still didn’t really talk to anyone else, but she seemed less startled and on edge around people, even waving or nodding awkwardly back when they greeted her. She was adapting to the prison and Daryl was glad of it. He hoped that she’d open up to more people too, the more people she bonded with the better, so she wouldn’t rely only on him, in case anything happened and he couldn’t be around her.
Daryl was now looking for Dana, after talking with Rick. Since Michonne had told him about that old bike she’d found, he’d been itching to go get it, even if Michonne thought that there was no need to rush. She had marked the place on a map for him before leaving the day before, and it wasn’t too far, he was surprised that they hadn’t stumbled onto it before, so he wanted to go. He’d told Rick, who said that it was okay, and now he wanted to tell Dana, they wouldn’t be going hunting tomorrow. He wondered what she might get up to in the prison without him there, and he hoped that she’d be okay.
She wasn’t in her cell and so Daryl went to the stables, finding her there, stroking the horses. “You know, you could help with the horses,” he told her, he’d realized that she liked them. “Feeding them and all that, you just have to tell Hershel.”
“No hunting?” She said.
“Yeah, we’d still hunt, but you can help once we’re back at the afternoons, if you wanna.” Daryl shrugged, he usually had stuff to do and Dana had been trailing alongside him, but maybe she’d enjoy more to help with the horses.
“Maybe.” She shrugged and went back to stroking the horse’s snout.
“I gotta talk to you, cat,” Daryl told her and she frowned at him, seeming worried. “I wanna go out tomorrow to find a bike in a cabin that Michonne told me about, so we won’t go hunting, okay?”
“I go with you?” She asked him.
“Uh…do you want to?” Daryl asked, wondering why he hadn’t thought about it, and Dana nodded. “Are you sure? You’ll be okay in here without me, really, nobody will hurt you.” He thought she knew, but he assured it to her again, he didn’t want her to feel like she had to be around him all the time.
“I want to go,” she said.
“Alright…” Daryl wouldn’t mind to take her with him, maybe they could even track something. “I don’t want us staying the night outside, so we leave before the sunrise, okay?” If it were him alone, he wouldn’t mind that much, but he didn’t want to risk it if he was taking Dana too, when there was no need to camp outside, the place was close enough for them to be able to come back and spend the night behind fences. Dana nodded, giving him that tiny smile.
*
Early the next morning, when the sky was just starting to clear, Daryl drove away from the prison. He was taking their pick up, he’d rather ride, but he might need to carry bike parts or the whole thing. Dana was sat down next to him, looking through the window, and Daryl peeked at her while he drove.
She looked so much better than just a few days ago, less terrified and wild, less on edge. A couple of days ago, she had chopped off a good chunk of her wild, dark curls with her knife before Daryl realized it and could offer to get her some scissors, she was probably frustrated at the knots and tangles. The shorter hair suited her, Daryl found himself thinking.
She still hadn’t wanted to go to the showers, but Daryl knew that now that Dana knew that they had a stable source of water from the creek, she washed herself with her bottle and a rag, locked in her cell. Daryl had seen her once, by accident, he hadn’t meant too, and he had quickly looked away and retreated, but he had noticed the marks and old wounds in her dark skin again, and the way in which she washed herself without closing the curtain, looking outside for any incoming threat, even if the cell was locked, one hand holding the wet rag while the other held a knife. Daryl couldn’t help but wonder what had she gone through, feeling angry at it, but he never asked, not wanting to prey and upset her.
They drove through the same road for a while, until eventually Daryl had to leave the road and drive through a path to the woods until even that ended, but he kept driving until the trees blocked the way. “Alright, we’ll walk from here,” he told to Dana. “It can’t be far.”
Dana nodded and got out of the car, following him in silence through the woods as he followed Michonne’s indications. At some point, though, she tugged at his shirt and when Daryl looked at her, she pointed at a squirrel up in a tree branch.
“Good catch,” Daryl whispered to her before shooting, he’d been too busy trying to find the way to see it, but as always, Dana was looking attentively at everything around her, and she always seemed to notice the tiniest details…no wonder she was a survivor, and she was picking up on how to track fast.
Daryl had been thinking about getting a hunting rifle with a silencer for her for when they went out, though for what he could gather from the few words that Dana said when he told her, she seemed to prefer her knife and wasn’t too used to shooting even if she could do it, but she couldn’t hunt just with a knife, and she’d be safer with a rifle too, maybe he should have gotten her a rifle anyway for today instead of letting her go just with her knife, but there didn’t seem to be walkers around and he was with her.
Eventually, they found the cabin, a tiny, tattered place hidden among the trees, overgrown with plants, and Daryl wondered how Michonne had stumbled into it. As they got closer, he spotted the bike lying on the ground, half-covered by plants too. Daryl knelt down next to it, carefully trying to lift it, afraid that it’d break down or even turn into dust just by touching it.
It was an old bike, vintage they’d say, and as Michonne had said, it was in very poor condition, it seemed to have been abandoned even before walkers were a thing. “You could have gotten good money for a bike like this before the world ended…” Daryl murmured, though if the bike had been his, he’d have kept it on point and wouldn’t have sold it to any collector no matter he needed the money.
“World didn’t end,” Dana said and Daryl looked at her. “Just changed.” She shrugged and Daryl guessed that she was right. The idea that the world ended had been a sentence he’d picked up from someone else, but yeah…Dana was right, it hadn’t ended, the world was still there, they were still there, it had just changed. And sometimes, sometimes, Daryl found himself wondering if actually his life wasn’t better now…he knew it was crazy, but maybe he could tell Dana someday, see what she thought…
Daryl focused his attention back to the bike. He’d check if there were pieces that he could use for something else, or if maybe he could actually save the whole bike, or enough stuff to take it whole to the prison…he thought that getting it going would probably be impossible, but he wanted to try anyway.
“Cabin?” Dana asked.
“Michonne was here already and checked it,” Daryl told her but Dana walked towards it, looking at everything around. “Don’t go far alright? Come back if there are walkers around.” Daryl went back to tinker with the bike. It looked worse at first glance than once he began to check it, and he was getting confident on being able to save more pieces than he thought at first.
Suddenly, though, he heard a noise and he looked up from the bike. “Cat?” He called for Dana when he didn’t see her around, and before he could worry that for some reason she’d actually decided to run away and leave him and the prison, Daryl was sure that he heard the growl a walker not too far. “Dana?!”
Daryl ran towards where he thought the noises were coming from and he found Dana fighting a group of walkers with her knife. There were two already dead on the ground, and she was viciously sinking the knife into the head of another, before grabbing the closer one to do the same. Daryl didn’t lose time to shoot a bolt to another before it got closer to Dana, and she turned towards him when she noticed the walker falling down, seeing him there before she grabbed the remaining walker and put it down too.
When she had turned towards him, Daryl had noticed blood on her shirt, her arms, and her face, and he couldn’t help but straight up panic. “Are you hurt?! Are you bitten?!” He asked as he rushed towards her, grabbing her arm to try and check her but Dana flinched her arm away.
She didn’t seem bitten or hurt and Daryl noticed that one of the walkers on the ground was all bloodied up and with its insides hanging out, and he realized that Dana must have gotten covered in its blood when she held it to stab it and maybe then touched her face with her bloodied hands. Somehow, it didn’t help to calm him down.
“The hell were you thinking?! Going for them alone?! They could have bitten you! Could have killed you!” Daryl hadn’t meant to yell, but he couldn’t stop himself, agitated and scared, even if he knew he was all the time doing the same, putting down small groups of walkers himself even if Rick told him not to…maybe he’d start understanding Rick now… “Told you not to! What if they killed you?!”
“I can do it!” Dana snapped back, sounding angry too, but all Daryl’s scared anger left him when he noticed tears in her eyes. “I’ve killed before! I’m not useless! I’m no kitten!”
Daryl didn’t know what to say or what to do, but he regretted that he had yelled at her, the idea of maybe having scared her felt like a kick…he had upset her for sure, but he was scared at the idea of her having gotten hurt, even bitten or killed, he couldn’t help it. He just looked at her while Dana glared at him, before he reached out tentatively to try and check her again, but Dana seemed mad, almost like the feral woman that he first met at the warehouse, and she pushed him away before rushing towards the cabin.
Daryl followed her, looking at her getting inside the cabin and closing the door behind her. “Dana?” He called for her but there was no answer, and Daryl felt like shit. He had yelled at her…but she had to see that he was worried, that she had scared him, right? What if now she wouldn’t want to go back to the prison with him? What if she’d want to stay away in that cabin like she’d been in the warehouse?
Daryl decided to stop thinking it and he went back to the bike, but he couldn’t focus on it, couldn’t stop his regret and fears, and he didn’t know what to do. After a little while, though, he noticed Dana walking out of the cabin. He still didn’t know what to do and so he focused his gaze on the bike, tinkering with it even if his mind was on Dana, afraid that maybe just looking at her might upset her or scare her after he’d yelled at her. He noticed her kneeling down next to him, and suddenly he felt her touching him, and when he looked at her, he realized that she’d headbutted him softly, gently nudging his arm with her forehead once.
“Are you okay?” Daryl asked her softly and Dana nodded. “I…I’m sorry I yelled…” Dana nodded again. “I just…I…I got scared, I saw the blood and thought you were hurt,” he made himself explain it even if he was embarrassed and shy. “Got scared thinking a walker would hurt you.”
“I’m sorry,” Dana murmured, apologizing too. “I’m sorry I pushed you.”
“It’s okay.”
“No.”
“Just…just don’t do it again, alright? You know it’s dangerous.” Daryl asked her softly, he didn’t want to feel like that again. “If there’s a group of walkers we put them down together…it ain’t that I think you can’t do it alone, I know you’re a fighter, just…” Daryl shrugged, not knowing how to explain it. “You don’t have to. Me…I…me and everyone in the prison, we got your back now, alright? Just let us help.” Dana nodded again and Daryl looked at her, the blood that had spattered over her face and hair, down her neck, smearing on her shirt and arms… “You’re a mess.”
“Always,” Dana joked and Daryl snorted.
He reached into his bag, taking the bottle of water and a rag, and pouring the water on it, he began washing the blood smeared on Dana’s face, cleaning her a bit so people in the prison wouldn’t freak out at the sight. “I’m just gonna take the whole bike, drag it to the pickup and work on it back at the prison,” he said and Dana nodded, eyes closed as he brushed her face with the wet rag until there wasn’t any blood, though her skin was stained. “Let’s go back home, okay?”
“Okay."

"Look," She frowns, a slight irritation settling within her chest that she tries to CHASE away. "I'm not saying we should blindly believe him, and it's good to look through things, and check any information we are given, but he's also our best shot right now, and I doubt he'd get involved with Death Eaters again, the few that are left. And if so...well, he should at least know he CAN'T take me in a duel,"
Derek is silent with her, listening to what she had to say about the youngest Malfoy. He could understand that he might be slightly different parents but he had read about what Draco had done over the years. "And you truly believe he has changed since you two were kids?" He asks her softly, not pushing too much either way. He trusts her opinion more than what he read. She grew up with him and she understood his behavior and loyalties. "I don't want us to overlook anything."

“Shit, shit, shit, shit!”
You picked up the speed that you ran. You had no idea where you were going, but you knew one thing—you had to keep going no matter what. Glancing behind you, the coast was clear, but just because it was clear didn’t mean you were home free. You’d grown up differently than everyone else. There were some things that were ingrained in you, some things that you used even to this day.
A loud clatter snapped you out of your thoughts and brought your head to spin on a swivel to look behind you. Still empty. When you looked back in front of you, two black SUVs were pulling up. They were trying to box you in. Looking around you, you tried to come up with a plan, a way out. There was an alley on your left, and it was the alley you were going to take. Changing your direction, you ran into the alley. Using your quick thinking, you pushed one of the dumpsters to the entryway of the alley, hoping it would slow them down. You knew it wouldn’t stop them.
When you were halfway down the alley, you heard them trying to push the dumpster aside. They argued loudly over who should do what until you heard the screeching sound of it moving.
“Fuck!”
That was when you picked up the speed. You were exhausted. You’d been running for the last eight blocks. Damn San Francisco for having endless hills. The downward slopes weren’t bad, but uphill was a bitch. Once you reached the end of the alley, you turned right to find a brick wall.
“Shit!”
Turning around, you were met with another brick wall. Trapped. Panic set in and with it your fears. You couldn’t let them catch you. It would not end well. Spinning around, you tried to come up with a plan--anything that would help you see another day. You were surrounded by brick. You had nowhere to go.
“You can’t run anymore, Y/N!”
They were getting closer, and you were a fucking sitting duck. If they caught you, you knew how it would end. They’d bring you to him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck! Think Y/N, think!”
Your panic was increasing as their voices drew near. That was when you looked up and saw a fire escape ladder.
“Ha.”
You backed up and ran to the wall and used it as leverage to bounce off of it to leap into the air and grab the bottom bar of the ladder. You’d almost missed it. Now you were stuck dangling with barely anything else to give. Upper body strength was always your weakness.
“Get up, get up!”
Finding the hidden strength inside of you, you gave it everything you got and pulled yourself up. It was excruciating and took way longer than it should have. Once you could pull yourself up enough to get your foot on the bar, you hugged the cold rusty metal and gasped for air.
“I should have paid closer attention,” you whispered to yourself.
You wanted to stop. You were too tired to keep going, but you had to. The alternative was too dangerous. Placing one foot over the other again and again, you climbed the rusted ladder until you got to the first landing. That was when they rounded into the dead-end. You laid on your back as flat as you could get and held your breath so as not to make a peep. You could hear them looking around below you, questioning where you went.
Several minutes passed with them scratching their heads and blaming each other.
“I told you we should have shot her and have been done with it.”
“Shut up. He wants her alive. She’s no good dead.”
I bet he wants me alive, you thought. Why would he want anything else?
“Let’s double back; that was her hotel. She’ll probably go back there.”
Slowly they trickled out of the alley, but you didn’t move until you were certain their cars had pulled off. Almost fifteen minutes later, you peeped out onto the sidewalk and surveyed the street. There was no sign of them. Turning onto the sidewalk, you flipped your hood onto your head and quickly walked on. You couldn’t go back to your hotel. That meant you had to find somewhere to lay low tonight so you could get out of town at first light.
An hour later, you found yourself sitting inside an Asian restaurant enjoying a meal you were overdue to have. The flavors melded well together, and if it was possible, the restaurant's décor seemed to fit the food you were eating. You loved the wooden elements of the partitions that divided the tables, and even the bamboo plants were strewn around. The feel of the restaurant was classy yet comfortable. You felt like this could have been a place where you would have spent a lot of your time.
An uproar of laughter caught your attention. Looking back, you saw a group of people laughing together. They looked close like they’d been friends for a long time. The beautiful woman with long brown hair slapped one of the guys upside their head, which had the rest of them laughing at his misfortune before teasing him in another language. Was it Thai? Mandarin maybe?
“If things had been different,” you whispered to yourself before finishing the sake in front of you. It was your third one.
With you not being able to use your credit cards because they were easily traceable, you were now down to a few thousand dollars. If you had another day like today, you knew that reserve would dwindle quickly. Groaning, you rubbed the back of your neck, trying to figure out your next move. This city wasn’t familiar to you. You’d only planned on finding Ari so he could help you out of your little problem. Unfortunately, Ari was out of town, and it meant you were now stranded. Either you wait for him to come back, or you made a way for yourself. You hadn’t expected that they’d find you. You’d been so careful.
“Everyone, we’ll be closing in fifteen minutes. Thank you for your service, and I hope you come again.”
That was your queue. You took out a fifty and placed it on the table, and gathered your things ready to go. Before you walked out the front door, you bounced someone.
“Excuse me,” he rushed out. You didn’t bother responding; instead, you nodded and walked outside.
They would look for you at the high-end establishments, you had to turn to seedy, and you were not looking forward to it.
Luckily you found an in-between option. While it was no Ritz Carlton, it was suitable enough. Before you could duck inside, your eye caught sight of someone that looked like they worked for him. Instead of walking through the doors, you stopped on the steps. Trying not to draw attention to yourself, you looked around and saw three more of them just idly standing by.
“Shit,” you whispered. It didn’t look as if they’d seen you just yet. As inconspicuously as possible, you turned around and sauntered down the street you’d just come from.
“Hey! Y/N!”
“Shit!” You picked up running down the street, knowing that they were chasing you. This time you didn't have that much of a lead. You looked back to see they were close enough that if you stumbled, they’d catch you.
When you turned, large, rough hands grabbed you, lifted you into the air, and dropped you to the concrete. The action took the breath right out of your lungs and filled you with pain. You laid there in a groaning heap writhing in pain.
“Jesus Dro, are you insane? She’s a girl!”
“She’s not running anymore, is she?”
“He doesn’t want her hurt. Are you gonna explain this?”
Pulling yourself together, you rolled onto your knees and tried to get up.
“Stop running, Y/N. Just come back with us.”
“Ne—ver!”
“You’re so stubborn. He’ll never stop searching for you.”
You knew it was true.
“You’re his property.”
Feeling a burst of defiance, you gritted your teeth in preparation for what you knew would come, then flung your head back and connected with his nose. It hurt like a son of a bitch, but the satisfaction made it worth it even though your head was now pounding, and your vision was slightly blurry.
“I’m not his property!”
The men around laughed out, and you thought it was enough of an opportunity for you to get away. Somehow you made it a full block before you were surrounded yet again. You stood in the middle, panting, in pain, and annoyed.
“Just let me go! Tell him when you found me someone killed me. He’ll believe it,” you suggested.
“Even then, he’ll hunt for your dead body and make everyone pay for it. I like my chances better bringing you back to him.”
“Please, I have money. My father has a lot of money. I can pay you. Name a price.”
The men laughed, signaling that they had no intention of taking you up on that offer.
“Y/N, your money is no good, and you know why. Just accept it.”
Before you could speak again, gunshots rained down all around you and pierced the bodies of the men that were around you. Screaming, you held your head and prayed that you made it out of this.
“They will come for you. You won’t be able to stop them.”
The words echoed in your memory, and your stomach fell. Was this was what he meant?
When the gunshots stopped, and all was quiet, you slowly lifted your head. All around you, the bodies laid lifeless and oozing blood. None of them were alive. Before you could get up, you saw four figures coming toward you. Terror and exhaustion are what kept you in place to watch them approach you.
“You have two options. Ascend or die.”
You’d heard those words before. You knew full well what was meant by them. You didn’t want to do either. You wanted to live your life, the way you chose—for you. Your father knew it. The years of drilling into you your destiny and chosen path, he thought you’d accepted it. You hadn’t.
“Choose.”
You stood on shaky legs and held your head high. While he hadn’t drilled into you acceptance for this said destiny, he had drilled into you stubbornness, strength, and resilience you often relied on.
“No.”
The one in front of you wore a ski mask in black with a white sun symbol on the forehead. All you saw were their eyes.
“She did say you were stubborn.”
They lifted the gun, pointed it at you, and in seconds everything went in slow motion. You heard the gun go off, but once it did, you were grabbed, hoisted into the air, and moved. Before you knew it, you were on the ground watching one man fight off the four assassins. He moved effortlessly, smoothly, and with absolute control and skill. You couldn’t take your eyes off of the way he moved.
He made it look so easy. He punched, kicked, and overpowered each of them, gliding around like he had wheels for feet. He didn’t even use any guns to defend himself. All he used were his hands. After a few minutes, each of them laid on the ground like the others. You watched him bend down, take up one of the guns, and dig it behind him in the waistband of his pants. Then he turned to you. You weren’t afraid, but you shrunk back. Your vision was quickly getting blurrier with each passing moment. Each second that passed, your body felt heavier and heavier until you dropped onto the ground.
The last thing you saw was Italian leather shoes approaching you. It was all black after that.

Rebel Spy - Chapter 12: The Trio
After all the chaos that happened with the ice planet, the frog lady, the baby eating her eggs, landing the practically destroyed crest, reuniting the frog lady with her husband, we finally seem to catch a break. These Quarrens know where other Mandalorians are and agreed to take us to them on their boat.
The baby's pod floats in between me and Din as we look out onto the ocean breathing in the salty air.
“You ever see a mamacore eat?” A Quarren says to us, “Quite a sight.” When neither of us responds the Quarren speaks again,” Child might take an interest. You should take a look. Come on over here.”
We follow the Quarren to the middle of the ship where there's a huge hole covered by a cage. We stand at the edge of it and we watch as the Quarren open the cage and drop fish inside. The Quarren is talking some more but I don’t listen.
I watch as the water begins to bubble and before either of us can react the Quarren pushed the baby's pod into the water right above the mamacore.
“No!” Din and I yell at the same time. Next thing I know I’m also being pushed in.
I hold my breath as I try to look around but it's no use in the murky water. I hear a splash and I know it's Din jumping in after us.
Din and I swim up to the top, grabbing onto the bars, coughing as we attempt to catch our breaths. The Quarrens above us hit our hands making us let go of the bars.
I take a deep breath and I sink back down once more. Din seems to be having more trouble than me as he goes back up for air sooner.
Once the burning in my lungs becomes too much I go back up with Din just in time to see a blue Mandalorian land and attack the Quarrens. Din continues to cough as we see two more Mandalorians land helping the first one.
I only get a glimpse of the first ones helmet but I immediately remember that day the first and only time I ever met her before today.
The cage opens again and I grab onto the edge holding myself up. Bo kneels down in front of the water and puts her hand out in front of me. I shake my head, “Him first.” She puts her hand out in front of Din and he takes it, “Theres a creature,” I say through ragged breaths, “Has my kid.”
As one Mandalorian helps me out the other jumps in to get the kid. Bo sits Din and the Mandalorian sits me next to him. “The Child help the child,” Din begs Bo, his voice strained from all the coughing.
“Don’t worry brother. We’ve got this.”
Din places a hand on my thigh and squeezes as we both try to catch our breaths.
After a few agonizing moments, the Mandalorian jumps out with the pod in her hands. She kneels down next to us and rips off the lid of his pod.
She takes him out and hands him to me. I make sure he's alright and I hold him close to my side. Din reaches over to brush his ear before looking back at the Mandalorians, “Thank you. I’ve been searching for more of our kind.”
“Well, lucky we found you first,” Bo says.
“We’ve been quested to deliver this child I was hoping that…” Din stops speaking when they take off their helmets
Oh no
Din stands up getting in defensive mode, “Where did you get that armor?”
“This armor has been in my family for three generations.”
“You do not cover your face. You are not Mandalorian.”
“Mando,” I say, stepping closer to him, “This is Bo-Katan, she was the leader of Mandalore. Last I knew of at least.” I know he's wondering how I know her but he decides to ask later.
“He's one of them,” the man says
“One of what?” Din asks.
“She's right, I’m of clan Kryze. I was born in Mandalore. I fought in the Purge. I am the last of my line. And you are a Child of the Watch.”
“The Watch?”
“Children of the Watch are a cult of religious zealots that broke away from Mandalorian society/ Their goal was to re-establish the ancient way.”
“There is only one way. The way of the Mandalore.”
Din walks over to the edge of the boat before I follow I whisper, “I’m sorry,” to Bo.
Din grabs on to me tightly, he turns on the jetpack, and we fly away.
-
“What do you mean it makes sense?!” Din practically runs ahead of me with the baby in his hands. We walk through the doc trying to get back to our ship. It's dark and both of us are very irritable after the past few horrible days we’ve been having.
“I mean it makes sense.”
“Would you care to explain?” he stops walking and turns around.
“I told you I knew another Mandalorian for some time. She had her helmet off most of the time. When I met you I figured you had older views.” He just huffs and turns around, “Just because your way is different than theirs doesn’t make you or them any less of a Mandalorian.”
“How is it that you know everybody?” He decides to take this argument in a different direction.
“You meet a lot of important people when you fight in a rebellion,” but that answer isn't good enough for him, “Look for a while I hung out with a crew and we went on a mission to save one of the members' fathers. Bo came in as reinforcements that's all.”
He turns around and keeps walking, “Look I can’t imagine what it's to know that something you’ve been told your entire life is not the complete truth. I’ll never know. But aren't you slightly open to the idea that there's another way?”
If he was planning on responding he doesn’t get to because Quarren comes out of the dark corner. “Hey!”
“Oh come on,” I whisper angrily at the fact that we have to deal with yet another problem.
The Quarren steps closer to us, “You killed my brother.” More Quarrens come out of the darkness.
“Let us pass,” Din says.
“I don't think you understand.” Din and I both notice the Quarren charging their weapons, “You killed my brother. And now I’m going to kill your pet.” My hand hovers above my blaster as he gets closer to us.
Luckily, Bo and the others come down to help us.
“They didn’t kill your brother,” Bo says, “I did.” Bo shoots and we all take that as a queue to shot the rest. Which we do. In just a few seconds all the Quarren are dead.
“Can we at least buy you a drink?” Bo asks.
“Please.” Is all I say before walking towards the nearest Cantina.
-
“Trask is a black market port,” Bo says. We all sit around at a table. The baby sits in between me and Bo. Dins hand finds my thigh again probably his way of apologizing for snapping at me earlier. “They’re staging weapons that have been bought and sold with the plunders of our planet. We’re seizing those weapons and using them to retake our homeworld. Once we do that we’ll seat a new Mandalore on the throne.”
“That planet is cursed. Anyone who goes there dies. Once the Empire knew they couldn’t control it, they made sure no one else could either.”
“Don’t believe everything you hear. They wanna separate us. Mandalorians are stronger together.”
“That's not apart of our plan. I’ve been requested to take this child to the Jedi.”
“What do you know of the Jedi?”
“Nothing. Only what Auroras told me.”
“We were also hoping you could help,” I say, “I lost all contact with the ones I knew.”
“I can lead you to one of their kind, but first we need your help on our mission.”
Why is there always a mission?
-
“You see that Imperial Gozanti freighter?” Bo asks us. We stand on a broken ship in a junkyard of some type, looking at the freighter that is sitting on a doc, “It's being loaded with weapons as we speak. “According to the ports manifest, its scheduled to depart at first light.”
They explain how they scan for life forms before taking off which means that we have to fly up there once it takes off.
After discussing the plan Din and I drop the kid off with the frog lady where he will be safe. Both of us make sure to tell him not to eat any more of her eggs.
-
Before Din and I can even land, Bo and Koska take out the stormtroopers guarding the doors to the ship.
Axe uses a splicer to open the door. When it opens Bo runs inside killing the three stormtroopers that were waiting for us. The rest of us follow in behind her. Din and I stay further back and I’m slightly behind him since I don’t have beskar protecting me.
In front of us, doors open revealing more stormtroopers. We use the sides to take cover. Each of us shoots at the troopers as we slowly inch forward.
Lucky for us troopers have bad aim and we don’t so we take them out easily. We walk over the troopers' bodies and we carry on onto the next room.
We take an elevator into the cargo bay where the weapons are. Again we are met by stormtroopers. We take out the troopers in the hall but before we can enter the cargo bay the doors closed.
Without saying anything I walk over to the panels in front of us. I press a few buttons and the screaming confirms that the doors to the cargo bay opened making all the imps in there fly out.
I close the doors and I open the ones in front of us so we can get the weapons.
The Mandalorians start opening the boxes and admire all the weapons.
Bo talks on the comlink to one of the imperial officers "Oh, We’re not jettisoning anything. We’re taking the entire ship.”
“Huh?” I say in confusion.
“What?” Din also questions.
“Put some tea on we’ll be up in a minute,” She puts the comlink down and Din and I walk up to her.
“Bo, this is more than we signed up for,” I tell her.
“There is something I need to rule Mandalore. Something that was once mine. You were there when I first go it, Aurora.”
“You lost the darksaber?”
“I was stolen from me,” she says defensively, “Look they know where it is. Regardless, we are taking the ship for the battles ahead.
“I got you your weapons,” Din says, “We have to return to our ship with the foundling.”
“If you want my help finding the Jedi, you will help me take this ship.”
“You’re changing the terms of the deal.”
“This is the way,” she says almost mockingly.
She walks out and the other two follow leaving me and Din alone.
“The faster we do this, the sooner we can be back on the crest with the kid.” He just nods his head before following the others.
We start to make our way towards the front of the ship where the cockpit is. The ship moves suddenly and we all fall to the sides. Din grabs my hand as we hold on to the walls. The pilot is taking the ship down to try and get us off of here.
“Let's move!” Bo says. Din lets go of my hands and we both pull out our blasters, “There’s the bridge. Come on!”
There are more stormtroopers waiting for us and we take cover on either side of the doors.
“How many troopers?” Bo asks.
“Sit to ten. Two with heavy repeating blasters,” Axe answers her.
“We need to move now.”
“They have too much firepower!”
“Were still dropping,” Koska reminds us.
Din puts his hand in mine and he squeezes which means he's about to do something stupid. He lets go and he takes two charges out of his utility belt, “Be careful.” I tell him and he nods.
“Cover me!” Is all he says before running out into the trooper's blasts. All of the blasts bounce off his armor. I see him lay down before throwing the chargers where the stormtroopers stand.
I cover my face as fire and smoke begin to fill the area. Once it clears we run out and Din is already standing up, running towards the cockpit not giving me the chance to even ask if he's okay.
We open the door to the cockpit. Din grabs the pilot and throws him out of the chair. Din sits on the pilot's seat while I sit in the co-pilots.
We both grab on to the control wheels in front of us. Both of us pull up trying our hardest to stop this ship from plummeting into the ocean.
“Easy, easy,” Din says his voice strained from using all his strength to get this ship up
After a few moments of pulling up, we feel the ship start to go up in the air again. We both let go and start to catch our breaths.
“No!” Bo yells and as we turn around the imperial officer is on the ground.
“Look we have to go, he sent a distress signal,” I tell her.
Din and I stand up and Koska takes his spot.
“Are you sure you won’t join us?” Bo asks.
“There’s something I need to do,” Din says.
“The offer stands if you change your mind.”
“Where can we find the Jedi?” I ask her.
“Take the foundling to the city of Calodan on the forest plant of Corvus. There you will find Ahsoka Tano. Tell her you were sent by Bo-Katan. And thank you. The both of you. Your bravery will not be forgotten. This is the way.”
“This is the way,” Din repeats.
-
We get the kid back from the frog lady and her husband. We finally sit on the falling apart razor crest the kid seated in my lab as Din starts the ship.
Once he gets the ship in the air I ask, “Are you good?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” he doesn’t turn around to face me like he normally would.
“I mean with everything Bo said. Don't you wanna talk about it?”
“There's nothing to talk about Aurora.”
“Right, it’s always nothing isn’t it.”

The Miys, Ch. 114
I’m hoping this chapter find everyone safe and sound. Normally, I wouldn’t start off with something like that, but I am queueing this on 11/5/2020, and a lot has happened in our world. Not just my country, but earthquakes, shootings.. it’s a lot.
Please be safe. My only, most sincere hope, is that reading this can bring you some relief from everything going on. And if you are reading this far after the fact - I’m glad you’re here to read it. I appreciate each and every follower and reader, and I just want you all to be okay.
As always, shoutouts go to @baelpenrose for beta reading this chapter, @raven-fae for being the reason I dared to post my scribbles in public, and @charlylimph-blog for being a bright light in a dark world. Charly, I don’t think you will ever know how much everyone loves you. I mean that. And finally, @zommbiebro for the ever-fun to write character of Jokul. You pushed and pushed to have this character exist, and I’m incredibly glad you did, because he is so much fun to play with.
“Antoine told me that Conor is going back to therapy,” Tyche mentioned nonchalantly as we were heading toward the exercise area.
I arched an eyebrow at her. “What do you mean back to therapy? I didn’t know he ever stopped.”
She flapped a hand at me. “You know what I mean. Not a touchbase appointment, a ‘this isn’t working’ appointment.”
“Ah,” was my sage reply. “Yeah, there was a tense moment. To be fair, though, it’s the first time anything like that has happened since he started seeing someone, and I think it needed to happen.”
“In what world…” she started, hands on her hips as she stopped walking.
Turning, I held up my hand to cut her off. “The last time someone was upset about what has been triggering Conor, I ended up with a busted lip.” I stared at her meaningfully.
She stared blankly for a moment, and I could almost hear her brain whirring. Then her eyes got wide and her mouth narrowed into a small ‘o’. “Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“Ohhhhhh…. Well that makes sense I guess. So, does that mean you and Maverick…?”
“Yep, group therapy!” I threw my hands up half-heartedly. “And there was much rejoicing. Yay.”
Her gaze snapped over my shoulder and her neck twisted as something caught her attention. “What the…” She blinked furiously before rubbing her eyes and squinting. “I’m hallucinating. I have to be.” Without waiting for me to ask what she meant, she grabbed my shoulders and turned me around.
Now it was my turn to blink. Walking towards, very focused on what looked to be a heated discussion, were none other than Arthur Farro and Jokull Bjornson. But… they weren’t arguing. Both looked to be wearing gym clothes, and I could tell they were sweaty even from so far away. As they got closer, they both also appeared to be bruised, and Jokul was even bleeding from the corner of his mouth. Regardless of all that, the animated way they were talking to each other looked more like a conversation between equals than it did the type of discussion that would lead to….
Well, that would lead to the fight they looked like they already had.
Soon enough, they noticed me and Tyche - it couldn’t have been hard. We were standing in the middle of the corridor, staring in shock and tilting our heads like it would force the scene to make more sense. “Reids!” Arthur greeted as he waved. “I need you two to settle an argument. Fortifications, yay or nay?”
“I thought the sentient bacterium and twelve-foot talking mushrooms were the weirdest thing I would ever see….” Tyche muttered.
I was far more eloquent. “I…. Arthur… this… what?” I sputtered, gesturing frantically between the two men.
Some part of that seemed to make sense, because he glanced at the taller man beside him and just shrugged. “Jokull wanted to practice hand to hand combat, and I’m the only one willing to hit him after the… Exhibition match? Everyone on the ship was nervous for some reason. Well, except Charly, of course.”
Jokull shook his head. “I feel my chances of survival with Farro are far higher than another fight with Miss Harper.”
Arthur eyed him weirdly, clearing his throat. “That’s because there is zero chance of me missing and ripping your throat out by accident, because I don’t bite.”
“Indeed.”
“There is zero chance of Charly missing,” I interjected. “And that was once, and you had it coming.”
Arthur continued, ignoring me. “Anyway, it’s not like anyone else on the Ark wanted to spar with me after that little show, either. So, win-win. Besides, he’s not a bad guy when he’s not doing things to make me actively want to kill him.”
Jokull laughed, but I was pretty sure he didn’t realize that Arthur was only half joking. Maybe half.
“Again, I’m sure Charly would spar with you, Arthur,” I pointed out. Tyche choked on laughter.
Arthur just looked at me like I spontaneously grew a third head and it happened to be drooling. “What part of she bites did you miss?”
“That. Was. One! Time!
“Besides, I’ve seen how you small women learned to fight in the After. I don’t know how hard I’d have to hit her to get her to stop biting, and I’d rather not hit a student hard enough to find out.”
Jokull mumbled, “Surprisingly hard, and in a nerve cluster, apparently.”
Both of us looked at him, eyes narrowed. Arthur’s next words came out very slowly. “If you’ve decked Charly, Jokull, you are on a fast track back to ‘let’s try axe versus saber’.”
Jokull turned to me frantically, “Councillor, I wasn’t aware…”
I interrupted him, again. “Arthur, it was that time she chomped his collarbone. Old news.”
Arthur was still scowling. “As long as that was the only time…” He shook his head, clearing the glare from his expression. “Anyway, it’s been kind of fun, actually. We’ve been comparing notes about our experiences in the After. What it was like for our groups, people we skirmished with, things we did to keep our territories safe and our people provided for…”
Jokull nodded, very seriously. “We have discussed several ideas regarding sustainable settlements and potential fortifications once we reach Von, along with distribution of resources and sheltering against winter months.”
“I’m pro-fortification, by the way,” I responded, now that I was caught up on the context of that question.
Arthur scowled at me and shook his head. “Et tu, Sophia? The need for any fortifications is still up in the air, but the rest are really solid.”
“I told you, Farro, fortifications against people are also fortifications against wildlife.”
“And I told You the odds of predators on Von are very low. Grey said so theirself.”
“Moose. I’m talking about moose. We don’t need predators if there are herbivores that large!”
“Grey insists there aren’t any indigenous species larger than Lyric on Von.”
“Have you met a badger? Really…”
As they started arguing, I slowly turned to Tyche, meeting her matching wide-eyed expression. “Did we somehow walk into a parallel universe?”
“I don’t think so?” She turned toward the fierce debate. “For what it’s worth, I’m anti-fortification.”
“SEE!? One of the Weird Sisters has sense!” Arthur crowed triumphantly.
“Councillor Reid is on my side!”
As the debate grew more heated, I whispered to Tyche. “You love fortifications,” I pointed out.
“But that wouldn’t have added fuel to the fire,” she replied, magnanimous as ever.
I rolled my eyes, before trying to shout over the men. “We’re headed to the gym! Stop at a medbay pleasethankyou!”
Arthur waved at the same time that Jokul gave me a thumbs-up, but neither stopped their debate for even a breath.
Shaking my head, I tugged Tyche away. “Boxing today?” She hated boxing.
“Hmmm.”
“Ark to Tyche,” I gently shook her arm to get her attention. “Unarmed workout today. Boxing?”
“Huh?” She snapped her head at me and everything caught up. “What? No. Have you lost your mind?”
“It’s my turn to choose.”
“Just. Not that.”
“Ugh, fine,” I groaned dramatically. “Something with cardio, though. We both could use it with the gravity increases.”
“And what about armed workout.” For all that we were in a relatively peaceful situation, we were far from the only people on the Ark who practiced with weapons on a regular basis.
“Knives, duh.”
“Fighting or throwing?” She glanced at my expression and rolled her eyes. “Throwing. Of course. Why did I bother asking….”
