i had an insane amphetamine-based obsession with wicca phase around two years ago and the consequences continue to this day. this previous hyperfixation with wicca phase leads me to have weird opinions on things that nobody else cares about and nobody else really wants to hear about at all. I honestly believe that Adam was really on the edge of creating a new wave in music when he was in his early nu-goth phase and making fresh art just after leaving Tiger's Jaw. I really lament the loss of this creative energy. Now it seems like he's subsumed to the will of younger producers and artists who feature on his songs. pre-GBC wicca phase was honestly so refreshing and so unique

Feb 12 - Dammit, thought I'd escaped Timberborn, but no. Found myself thinking about one of the larger maps and what a challenge it would be with the recent addition of badwater. And then gave it a shot. Yeah, this is going to take a while; I'm aiming to cap all the badwater sources and also build enough of the right stuff to deal fairly well whenever there's a badwater tide taking over the regular water sources.

Supper was a beef curry with barberry rice.

Feb 13 - Still more Timberborn. Progress is slow.

Simple supper of the last tub of chili from the freezer, with tortilla chips.

Feb 14 - Baked a loaf of triple wheat bread. Seasoned some pork tenderloin to roast tomorrow, and some lamb chops for today.

And then, yes, more Timberborn. Finished my goals in late evening! All the sources capped, and a huge line of dams, levees, and earthworks built that allows me to close off and divert the water off down one side of the map when badwater tides occur. Did need a little tweaking beyond the point shown here, so I can drain the resulting lake of polluted water without getting any into the central area of the map, which is neither as barren as the far side (where I'm diverting the water away to), nor as well-protected from contamination as the near side (in back of the camera viewpoint.)

Supper was the chops (seasoned with lemon, garlic, and rosemary) and some oven-roasted potatoes, carrots, and onions, done in the style of Greek potatoes (so roasted in a pan with broth, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and oregano).

Today was a shit day.... I had such high hopes for today, and even though it began nicely, it ended shitty with tears. Ugh! I hate being emotional. 🤷‍♀️

I arrived in Sydney on this JetStar flight from Honolulu. It is a discount airline (a Qantas Airline subsidiary). I did not expect anything like inflight meals. People ordered food when they were booking. What surprised me was that there is personal entertainment system on this Boeing 787 plane but you have to pay about US$10 to watch movies or even play games. The only thing free on the personal entertainment system was the airline ad and inflight map.

next three pics: the train ( it is more like subway) from the airport (also suburbs) to downtown. Double decker. Interiors were clean and comfortable. Quiet too.

Feb 10 was Chinese New Year. This is a set up in a shopping center for people to visit and take photos. My first impression of the city of Sydney is there are a lot of Asians. This pic show a Japanese restaurant, then Korean hair salon, then a Chinese restaurant next to each other.
