aside from crpgs the other genre im autistic about is farm sims. but because nothing can ever be easy i've been obsessed with them since i was 7 and have a complex about liking them before stardew / before they were cool. anyway i played 10 hours of story of seasons last night and it's bad! i need to stop complaining about how bioware got bad because the way these games went downhill in quality makes inquisition look like a masterpiece

Space Station 14 is great in one part because you can die like 3 times and still get fully recovered. like you can get defibbed, wait a few seconds to get out of critical condition, and go "Ah thanks 'doc, it's time for me to go back to my Extremely Dangerous job of Handling Extremely Dangerous Interspacial Anomalies which have already brought me to medical death three times. Yeah no i don't think we'll meet again for the rest of this shift" and then you immediately get killed by the anomaly and see the doctor five minutes later.

and even then if your body is unrecoverable or gets obliterated or it's damaged too much to be revived or it gets left too long and rots away - you can still be cloned, your brain can still be reused in a cyborg, or you can either chill as a ghost for the rest of the round or play what's called a "ghost role", you can either take control of another player character in an off station shuttle, or you can possess any of the NPCs and get up to mischief or just Roleplay More, like NPCs range from rats & mothroaches to pAI (personal AI) units in another player's PDA or becoming a sentient vending machine.
