stultifera navis rerun AKA thinking about Iberia hours again because a lot of the Iberians have such fascinating relationships with the concept of home but specifically Thorns and Lumen are eating at my brain. like where do you call home when the place that is your home Just Fucking Hates You? Elysium's rewinding breeze specifically makes a point to hammers home how differently Iberia treats its Liberi and its Aegir

(which is especially interesting since this comes right after a conversation where Purestream commented on how despite Leizi being a high ranking government official, there are still some experiences that are universal for all Yanese people - because the experience of what Iberia itself is like isnt universal for all Iberians)

But all that being said, Thorns also straight up states that Aegir is not his home, and yeah, how could it be? How could a place you've never been to, never truly known, ever be your home? How could it ever feel like a home?

so where do you go when the place that you are from hates your people and the place your people are from is completely unfamiliar and alien to you? Thorns' answer at the end of the conversation with Aya is: my home is where i chose it to be. my home is where there are people I care about and people who care about me

in the complete opposite direction, Lumen's oprec asks: why do you still stay in a place that wants you gone? because the people of Gran Faro like Jordi well enough but when push comes to shove, they will want the only Aegir in town gone

and yet, when Rald the messenger offers him a chance to leave Jordi turns him down and when he's forced to escape Gran Faro after the people there literally try to send him to his death (or worse) at the hands of the Inquisitors he keeps trying to go back because like everyone in stultifera navis, Jordi is clinging to his own dreams of a golden age

but the shape of that dream is unique to every character and for Jordi, his dreams are deeply, inseparably bound to the Eye of Iberia, the legacy his parents left behind

and it's this dream of becoming someone great, of bringing about that golden age that his parents devoted their lives to help create that ties Jordi to this nothing town because despite everything, despite the mistrust of the townsfolk and the hostility of the Inquisition and the danger from the ocean, he simply cannot leave it behind

so yeah. not sure what overall point i was trying to make here i'm just. deeply in love with these stories about chosing what is and isn't your home, of saying you will not call a place your home because it has given you no reason to or saying you consider a place your home even though it has given you every reason not to. deeply unwell about them <3

Even though he didn't reveal this secret to the kits themselves, he always seemed to be distant and judgemental towards them. And here he is; The talk of the town, the kittypet behind this all, the one who connects all these cats. At first glance, he may seem harmless. And he probably would be, if there wouldn't be some strange spirits, constantly whispering in his ear... But why is he doing all of this? Well, when he met a gentle, nice clancat, he felt like as if his life had been changed... Only for her to see him as a simple one night stand. And somehow this woke up something inside him; An ancient, instinctical desire for the "freedom" of being a clancat... Who knew that the yew bushes in his owner's garden would push him so close to his goal?

First, he met Sun and Moon. They were regulars at his garden, constantly picking berries, no one knew why. Until one day, Chester gathered all his courage, and told them that the bushes are his. The strangers seemed puzzled, but after a few silent glances, they asked him; What could they do, for him to allow them to keep picking berries? Well, Chester had quite a few ideas. But he decided to go with the one that some strange, broken figured suggested to him in a dream; He decided to ask them to join "the Clan", and spy on them for him. He didn't know that SunClan was not the only Clan, and neither did the rogues. So they joined LeafClan, told him everything they saw and heard. He wasn't quite satisfied, but he kept his promise to them.

Then he met CinnamonCloud, a clancat who was way too far away from her own territory. Only CrystalClan knows what she was looking for, but she found Chester. And Chester, who recognised her from the stories his pals told him earlier, and told her that he has exactly what she might be looking for. CinnamonCloud, as always, was cautious of him... But curious as well. So she decided to do as he says; Keep an especially close eye on SunClan.

And lastly, he met BrambleRoar. Another clancat, who was certainly upset about something he did not want to talk about. Refusing to talk to Chester, he immediately jumped through the fence, and rushed towards the yew bushes. But this time, the kittypet catched up to him to stop him, and demanded to know why is everyone so interested by the bushes. And after the warrior, slightly annoyed, explained the purpose of so-called "deathberries" to him, a whole new room of possibilities opened up before his eyes... And with that, he offered BrambleRoar this unlimited supply of yew berries, in exchange for a teeny-weeny small thing; A chance to talk with the kits he just found out about.

Hiii welcome to The Thing I’ve Been Working On For Far Too Long !!!! This is an edited map of my WoF Headworld!! This map fallows my personal lore / story for what happens post-books! There are far more ideas I have regarding new structures, how the land changes, etc. , but this was just generally for labeling major locations within each territory! My hope was to wrap this up before the Felid Guide drops so I can compare my map to the canon reveal of locations but I didn’t quite get there and there are still a lot of loose ends. Unfortunately I don’t have much time to work on this anymore and will probably chip away at it privately in pieces , but for now I wanted to share this bit publicly!

The mass defection of Lasombra to the Camarilla and the broader unraveling of the Sabbat in v5 would actually be the perfect opportunity to finally set off this particular Chekhov’s gun, but given that so far all we’ve seen of revenants in this edition has been a single loresheet (for the Ducheski, no less!), I doubt it’s going to be seized upon.

Honestly every time I see someone complain about the problems with Genshin's story, it's ALWAYS never about the actual issues with the story, and more about how the player complaining isn't fucking paying attention or is too impatient about a plot point to wait and find out if it's relevant to later parts of the story or not, and thus prematurely dubs it a plot hole or an unanswered question.

So any time I see people complain about Genshin's story my answer is typically one of two things: Pay Attention You Absolute Fool, or Give it a Fucking Minute.
