I'm sorry for the two year hiatus, I went through a period where I struggled and I really just had to come out the other side finding who I am. However, I am now back and feel so much happier! they’re my new social media fixation rn. like yea they’re all attractive, but they’re also SO funny. especially grace, she commits to every bit and i love it. i think that my fave duo in the shorts is her and ryan, they work so well together (also i lowkey hate to be one of these people, but i think they’d be cute together. i’m not adamant about it or anything, but when i see a short with them together (like that graveyard post that was posted recently and they progressively get closer and stuff) i giggle a little)

and the podcast (we didn’t read it) is so funny too!! i’m a lil sad that they decided to do a rotating cast of 4 (and grace hasn’t been in the last 2 episodes) but it also makes a lot of sense. although i love the chemistry of all 5 together, going back to 4 will be easier for the improve and jumping in and stuff. i think my fav episode so far is the great gatsby (which i also didn’t read) or william shakespeare (ryan thinking that he/romeo was the one in the balcony instead of julia/juliet was hilarious)

Idk if you read those books (but I don't think so since you're not really a romantic fan iirc?), but the emily henry fandom is currently talking about the fan cast for the next adaptations. I think she's adapting 6-7 of her book (very popular in the rom com world). Next one will star tom blyth and emily bader. I've seen also fab cast for Ayo and Paul Mescal.

And I couldn't help but think about Tom being cast in one of those projects. Lot of people want him to be in a romcom because , I quote "no one take him seriously as an actor anyway so he should do that instead". But I'm 100% sure they would rip him apart if he was casted because he would ruin their fav fictional character in their heads. So I don't want him near that because he would again be harassed for this role, and it's hard to satisfy a book fandom as dedicated as they are. But truth is.. I know he would absolutely kill it as one of the leads (in Beach Read for example)😭 selfishly I would love to see him in that but I feel like Book adaptation are so tricky because expectation are there. Anyway I'm just rambling and thinking about what could happen next

I have a feeling (at like 65%) The winner is happening and I'm a bit perplexed because just like I said, with a book already out there people will already know what to expect and set their expectation high. Also I don't know if that type of story would be appealing for the audience, it would depend on the female cast too I guess. And Wd already mentioned it but the tennis theme Is meh for many reasons. At the same time I'm desperate to see him in something non- franchise so That would be fresh and new at least...

Honestly, I think he should take a break from book adaptations, at least for now. As you mentioned, the fan base is so dedicated that they'd likely react very negatively to him being cast in one of these movie adaptations. We already have enough to handle with Spider-Man and Uncharted fans, adding another would be a nightmare.

Also, Tom doesn't know (and doesn't want) to sell a romance-themed project. He literally sent a photo from an old photoshoot so they could recycle for the Romeo and Juliet poster. Not even one single photo with his co-star (and I'm talking about before all the backlash). So, I feel like fans need to give up the idea of him starring in a rom-com or something where romance is the very center of the story, because one thing is not having to promote a sold-out play, but he'd definitely need to promote a movie, for example. And I'm starting to think he's purposely avoiding interact with his female co-stars, who play his love interests, outside of the work environment (except for his girlfriend) and it's getting really obvious at this point, lol.

RE The Winner book: I don't think it's happening 🤷🏽. I can see Amy offering him the script or suggesting the book and throwing the idea at him, but that doesn't mean he's on board. My wild guess is that if that was the book he was reading, he only gave it a chance because it has 'thriller' in it, but I don't think he's interested.

Lucifer season 6 thoughts:

I feel better than expected. I finished Lucifer s6. My fav season, My ranking: s6, s4, s2, s1 s5 s3. I hope down the road there will be more even thou Netflix never gives movies or spin-offs to series I care about. There are chances Tom & Lauren may not come back. Tom said he would be open to it but he had a hard time accepting the contract for s6 so who knows…. Lauren said she thinks the story of her character is done and she does not think a spin-off about Chloe can be made and I agree. Who knows? Maybe she still can make an appearance. <spoiler> I would be fine even if Rory mentions Deckerstar. I am OK they did not get married. Their souls may still can get married. Question one: Why does Chloe wear Lilith's ring when she appears in Heaven? Question two: does Chloe still have the necklace after ep 8? I am glad it's stated she wears it often even if we do not see it. I hope she does even after Rory's birth and on.I hope Amenediel tells Chloe how Lucifer is doing while he is away. I am glad the producers said Lucifer checks on his family from time to time. Question three: Where is Linda in the future? Who is the Linda Martin in jail? My theory is Linda may left her job or she wrote a new book under a pseudonym. I wish to see more of Trixie and get to find out if she is mad at Lucifer for leaving. I adore Maze trained Trixie, I want her to keep doing that and may ease her anger toward Lucifer if she is really bitter. I wanna see Trixie, Charlie and Rory interact. I was over the moon when Maze and Eve had the Romeo & Juliet balcony scene, amazing! I wanna see their honeymoon and their future. Maze is my favorite character. I care like a demon.  I wanna buy Ella's t-shirt. Her development had me surprised. I love it. I knew Rory's wings shape came from Chloe's temper & her job, so good! I wanna know why Chloe was busy sometimes like Rory stated. I wanna see who teaches Rory to fly and who she gets to fall for. I want to know if Rory gets to meet Deckerstar again. I love the actress who plays Rory,  I first saw her on Blindspot. Many tears have fallen from my eyes during season 6 and I hope to rewatch the show very often. My top series on Netflix. Glad the interviews addressed where Trixie was in the final moments.

Networks should take notes about that Bones cyber spin-off :D I wanna see it come to life!

r+j is my personal favorite shakespeare play so i’d love to hear you talk about what you like/don’t like about it!! if you wanna

so fun fact for the people who HAVEN’T been here for two (three??) years. when i made this blog it was in the spring of my freshman year after we read - guess what - romeo and juliet!!! (i was transm3rcutio i didn’t change the url for like a good year) i read the play in class and went absolutely fucking nuts about it and was so excited that i made a sideblog and proceeded to go balls to the walls on here about it

...and then i read hamlet and the rest, i suppose, is silence history.

this is a long-winded way of saying that R&J is actually what got me into shakespeare!! it’s an old fav; i adore it and i particularly think the strongest points are

the side characters - mercutio, benvolio, and tybalt are just so fucking enjoyable man like. love or hate them they’re so dynamic and their interactions are fantastic (almost more compelling to me than romeo and juliet themselves oops)

the innocence of the lovers - fuck anyone who has something shitty to say about the two of them. if they had waited to get married NOTHING would have changed except they would have had less time together :( they didn’t do anything wrong that wasn’t explained by the culture they live in (ie, romeo killing tybalt was something he was forced into by verona’s culture of violence; juliet not talking to her parents was reasonable because... her parents are That Way)

the language - idk i just think it’s so much fun. mercutio is one of my shakespearean dream roles i love his monologues and wordplay SO fucking much (other dream roles, predictably, include hamlet, edmund, touchstone, benedick, and so many people from twelfth night)

the comedic tone in the beginning - the fact that it starts half-comedy and then warps into a tragedy so quickly and devastatingly is one of my favorite things about it, like, the way it captures the joyous recklessness of youth and the fun these kids all have with each other and then it just all goes to shit so fast... :( obliterates me

“so max if you can talk about it for this many paragraphs why isn’t it like... higher on your favorites list. why don’t we hear more about it” i do... not know. i think it’s like a personal thing for me? in the past three years i’ve read R&J more times than i have any other play and it’s almost at the point where i’m not... like... SICK of it but i’m, like, sated. like... until the next time that hyperfixation revs up, im all set personally on consuming R&J content that occasionally comes across my dash and no further, if that makes sense skdhfdsbfs.

so that’s to say that i don’t dislike it by any means! i just am more interested (at least currently) in a number of other plays dkdhfsbfjdsbfsd

🐾 favorite headcannon: I have a lot of headcanons about baby Ben in Dharmaville and my current favourite one is that Sawyer kept an eye on him and was low-key protective whenever he noticed Roger was in a bad mood (which was often). Sawyer also introduced Ben to “Of Mice And Men” and just ~reading~ in general.

💥 least favorite season: I guess I have to say season 6. Though I do love the ending I find that a large part of season 6 drags on for too long, especially the on-island plot just seems very slow. I just keep waiting for things to happen or to please show more flash sideways bc I am much more interested in those. And I sometimes don’t think they connected the sideways to the current on-island plot well enough and that’s probably because there are less character-centric episodes as they move towards the end. With the flashbacks and flash fowards there was usually some nice parallel between what happens on island and what happens in the flashes... but in season 6 it was woven much looser which I understand but don’t like as much. “Dr. Linus” is the only exception to this imo and fav character bias aside I think it is the most solidly written single-character-centric episode in the season 🤷 it also doesn’t have enough Ben/John interactions... and also the Indiana Jones temple annoys the hell out of me (maybe it could have been cool if they had introduced it earlier in the show but I think the writers strike got in the way of that).

🌹 favorite lgbt+ headcannon: I mean... I do headcanon most of them as bi, except for the characters I don’t like and who are heterosexuals lol and when thinking/talking about Ben I mostly refer to him as gay because I think he legit had his sexual awakening when he met John and any attraction towards other genders might be very subtle or vague (like, whatever his “crush” on Juliet was, it did feel very artificial and not like he was really attracted to her and more like in his mind he was “supposed to be with her”). But then I also very low-key ship him with Ilana and sideways Danielle so I guess, he’s also bi in my mind sometimes.
