Here is my story. My family of five and I were living a peaceful and stable life in our beautiful little house. We worked hard to provide a decent life for our three children, and they were proud to see our children learn and grow in a safe and stable environment. But in a sudden moment, their lives changed forever.

The disaster happened when our house was completely destroyed due to the war. They lost everything: their home, their source of income, and even their children’s education. They became homeless and insecure, living in difficult and dangerous conditions. The children, who used to go to school with joy and hope, are now deprived of their most basic rights to education, and live in constant fear.

And now. My husband and I are trying hard to secure their basic needs, but we face great challenges. Every day is a struggle for survival, and an attempt to rebuild what they lost. For instance, a single bottle of sunflower oil now costs an outrageous $14.72. A single kilogram of sugar is priced at $9.37, while a kilogram of bulgur wheat stands at $8.83. Shockingly, the price of one potato or one onion is $8.03 each, reflecting how even the most basic vegetables are becoming unaffordable. Other necessities such as tahini are marked at $13.38, a small bar of soap costs $5.89, and butter is priced at $4.01. These prices not only highlight the severity of inflation but also reveal the harsh impact of scarcity and restricted imports due to the blockade.

The economic devastation caused by years of war and isolation has crippled Gaza’s local industries, leading to widespread unemployment and poverty. hyrule snap is of course the hit new video game for nintendo switch that has swept the globe to almost universal acclaim. @nightpool and @ot3 wanted to see some of my "nature photography" (part 2 here)

I would consider these 'perfect' animal shots; they're high contrast and there's even more than one animal in the larger shot for most of them. I spent an hour of in-game time staked out to get the arowana leaping

these are shots I like but will retake at some point to get bigger or with higher contrast. you are rewarded by physically getting close to your quarry--one thing totk did is actually reduce the 'resolution' of your photos as you zoom in. I have a lot of very zoomed-in bird pics with 'pixels' the size of a man

these are likewise perfect monster shots. note the octorok's projectile about to clock me clean upside the head

these monster pics will get reshot but I really like the poses I got. the wheezing wizzrobe who just needs a second. the top ten anime moments before black moblin disaster. the boss boko with his ducklings is funny to me; I just have to get the picture physically closer and on a sunnier day (hyrule doesn't have a real golden hour, either)

bonus: I like to shoot equipment in situ when possible. local twink jailed for taking creepshots, claimed 'was just trying to get a good angle on the gerudo scimitar'

so i'm reading through the Rise of Kyoshi, i'm about a third of the way through now and have missed meals because of my obsession with this book. just for fun here's a few random things i was thinking/noticed along the way (spoilers ofc):

-immediately, kyoshi was already one of my favourite non-show avatars but this book is firmly placing her in the lead. sorry roku but kyoshi is just built different

-also kyoshi could totally be trans. i know tall cis women exist but uhhh the whole thing about "filling the space of my dimensions" and "hiding away as best i can despite my height" (paraphrasing obvs) is really trans coded of her. she's also suuuper quiet, which could be because of voice dysphoria. none of is actually evidence but it's enough for me to spark a headcanon

-i did know going in that kyoshi was canonically bisexual. i've read the korra comics, they changed my life and they didn't hold back on the queer rep which is what we love to see. somehow i did not expect this to be evident less than 50 pages into the first book where she's clearly infatuated with both yun and rangi. and continuing on the same thought process...

-kyoshi/yun/rangi are an ot3 i do not care they are all in love with each other. they are a trio of bisexual disasters and until i'm proven wrong i will continue to believe this

-speaking of, yun's death (which is where i've left off for now) was fucking HEARTBREAKING i have known this little guy for like 24 hours and i am distraught at his SOUL CRUSHING death

-sooo i thought Kyoshi was in the avatar state when she did the whole 'destroying a whole fleet and summoning mountains from under the sea' thing. i really thought that was her first avatar state moment and i was super impressed, super in awe of her power, etc, etc. so imagine my face when it's revealed later that this wasn't even the avatar state Kyoshi is literally just that fucking good on her own. like hello???
