[There is a video attatched, do you want to watch it?]
//This is so long but I swear it's not that bad. In the tags will be what you need to know after this even if you don't read it so everything else makes sense.
//I'll actually rewrite the ooc paragraph into several shorter ones so it's easier to read.
//Apple's friends don't react in the best way possible, as they don't know what is going on. This is made worst because Apple was already distressed.
//Apple isn't out to their friends, so they'll only use he/him to refer to her. He does use that pronoun, so it's not misgendering, but don't expect them to use anything else. Also, it's name will be written [Apple], as that's the one they use online, not her actual name. It's not deadnaming, but I understand that it can look as if I was censoring a deadname.
//There is a mention of the current state of Apple's transformation. Specifically, the start of the face changing.
//Also, first and probably last time a character uses a swear word (or whatever those are called in english, I think it's that) in one of my post. I feel like that friend would use them, but I don't like writing them.
[The video is taken from around the height of Apple's head, so it's impossible to see everyone else's faces. Apple can be seen next to the window, trying to check where they would land. Steps can be heard from the other side of the room as other three people enter it. The room is dark, except for the small amount of light entering though the window.]
"What the... what is that?"
[Apple is covering its face and making a ball in the floor, ashamed of how she looks like. One of his friends tries to get closer, but Sharp the pawniard jumps to his trainer's rescue. He positions himself between Apple and the rest, ready to fight.]
"Sharp? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with [Apple]? Where is he, anyway?"
"Yeah and, more importantly, how did that... tinkaton? get here?"
[[Blue] hits [Pink] with her elbow while looking at him with a disapproving face.]
"What? It was a joke! I'm obviously looking for him!"
"Get out of here."
"[Apple]? Where are you?"
"Leave me alone, okay? I don't want you to see me right now."
[[Red] tries to get close to Apple, suspecting that their voice comes from that part of the room. Sharp, feeling his owners distress, does the only thing he can think of.]
"What the fuck Sharp? Why did you do that? Agh, it hurts a lot! Just let me get there already!"
[[Red] holds his leg with a pained expression while looking at Sharp. [Blue] throws a pokeball, freeing the Skeledirge inside. The pokemon uses its tail to move Sharp out of the way and keep him there.]
"No! Leave him alone! He can't get hurt. I- I didn't hurt him, you can't do it. P- please, don't do anything. Just get out of here!"
[Apple says this while crying. He looks at Sharp, hoping he's fine. That allows both the camera and her friends to see their new face. It's still very similar to the face it had before this began, but it is pink and is starting to change to look more tinkaton-like. It can be noticed mostly in the eyes, which are starting to get taller and thinner. The three of them flinch when seeing this.]
"Is that... Wha- what happened to you?"
"Yeah, you look terrible! Is that your excuse to let us study by ourselves?"
"I told you to leave me alone!"
[The camera seems to fall and look to the ceiling for a moment, before it repositions itself. Both pokemon appear to be fine, but the three humans seem to have been launched against the wall. Some glowing particles can be seen floating around in the room, quickly disappearing. Apple gets to where Sharp is as fast as she can without showing themself more than necessary and hugs him.]
"You are okay, everything is okay. I'm here to help you, I promise. I- the instincts won't win, I'll protect you."
[Apple is holding the hammer, which is longer now. The new addition is a different color to the metals used before. He runs towards the window and jumps, the camera following behind. Its landing is good enough, so they can start running towards the nearby forest almost immediately, Sharp still in his arms.]
[End of the video.]
//Not fully convinced with some parts, but probably good enough. I don't know if I should tag this anything specific, but the warning in the beginning should work for that.

The Dead of Winter by Sarah Clegg
From the devilish Krampus legend to a spot of disembowelment, the author takes us on a scary romp through Europe’s most disturbing festive folklore
Shaggy figures with snarling masks and metre-long horns, scenes of wild drunkenness, random assaults on strangers, witches winding your intestines out on a stick, a giant “Yule Cat” who will eat you if you’ve failed to put on new clothes for the day – no, it’s not your annual family get-together, at least I hope not. It’s a compendium of European seasonal lore from the dark side, as explored in this excellent short book by historian and folklorist Sarah Clegg. She combines a trove of good stories with a serious critique of earlier mythographers’ ideas about them, and also takes us on adventures ranging from pre-dawn graveyard walks to the terrors of Salzburg’s pre-Christmas “Krampus night”, named for the monstrous masked figures who prowl its streets on 5 December.
Clegg approaches Christmas by a broad avenue, so we get chapters on Venice’s carnival, Saturnalia festivals in ancient Rome, the witchy shenanigans of Epiphany Eve (also known as Twelfth Night), and the wassails of January, in which good health is wished to apple trees by waving horses’ skulls at them. What all these celebrations share is a mood of maniacal excess and social exuberance. Practices include “guising”, or putting on animal disguises; “mumming”, or enacting plays; and “knocking” – going around banging on doors, asking for treats, and even dragging out unwilling residents to join the merriment. The mayhem can spill over into violence, especially in the town of Matrei in Austria, where the Krampus-like “Klaubauf” figures barge into houses and fight in the streets, to the extent that local authorities advise tourists to stay away and the hospital’s emergency department prepares for an influx of injured people. Even Clegg does not venture to Matrei, but the Krampus night she attends in Salzburg is only slightly less extreme. As she strolls amid the usual market scenes of fairy lights and glühwein stands, she is set upon by a Krampus who whacks her with two sticks. It’s all good festive fun – except that she still has the bruises and welts far into January.
Krampus is traditionally an assistant to Saint Nicholas, or Santa Claus, and even the white-bearded chuckling one himself can be less pleasant than we might think. His punitive side now survives mainly in the idea that he will bring no gifts if you’ve been naughty. That’s nothing compared with the punishments inflicted by other characters in the winter-festival tradition. In northern Europe, Saint Lucy is usually visualised as a gentle, white-clad maiden with a feast day on 13 December. But she can turn from sweetness to savagery in an instant if she catches you going to work instead of celebrating on that day, or if you have forgotten to put out snacks for her and her friends. She is the one who likes winching out your intestines, but for variety she sometimes also seizes children, removes their internal organs, stuffs them with straw, and sews them up again.
In the 19th century, a shift took place towards more polite Christmas behaviour, especially in Victorian Britain. Santa Claus became portly and took to riding around with reindeer. The feasting became less about chaotic public drinking sessions and more about a family dinner presided over by the master of the house: it affirmed the hierarchy rather than upending it. The topsy-turvy elements of the season were transferred to other celebrations such as carnivals and pantomimes, and door-to-door knocking and treating became more associated with Halloween. In England today, the tradition of raucous Christmas home intrusions survives only in the (slightly) less scary form of doorstep carol singers.
Where the wilder rituals remain, they have become more self-consciously folkloric. Clegg introduces us to the wassailers of Chepstow, with their horses’ skulls on poles, and the Marshfield Mummers of Gloucestershire, who dress up like giant ragged mops and put on a play. These events are well-attended, suggesting a revival of interest; Krampus runs have even become popular in parts of the US. Clegg suggests that this might reflect an increasing disenchantment with the tame, Victorian-style Christmas, especially now that it’s so commercialised. The frenzies of last-minute gift shopping or trying to get a train or plane ticket home can’t compete with the frenzy of running around with an animal head.
If so, these mixed feelings about the 19th-century family Christmas were there from the start. Clegg notes that the century that created that kind of Christmas also created a new kind of historian, keen to find dark and ghastly “pagan” rituals lurking behind the politer ones. In 1890, James Frazer’s The Golden Bough sought a key to all mythologies in a supposed long-lost midwinter rite, during which a king was killed so as to be reborn as a new king in spring. The idea was exciting, and the book became a bestseller. The problem, says Clegg, is that there was no good reason to think any such rite ever existed. The book was “a collection of wild, unsubstantiated statements”, built upon a titillating fantasy of “primitive” fertility rituals.
Frazer has been demolished many times before, but Clegg sees his ideas living on in our tendency, even now, to assume that modern practices are rooted in a timeless hinterland of mysterious, pagan antiquity. This is misleading in several ways, she argues. First, we know too little about what really went on in the undocumented past. Second, it casts the people of long-ago Europe as passive transmitters of tradition, rather than as active agents who reimagined and adapted their celebrations through time. “Never mistake folklore for something ancient and unvarying,” she writes. Like most of what humans do, it is “creative and dynamic”.
Also, the notion of solemn and ancient mysteries ignores the idea of having fun. When the fifth-century Bishop of Ravenna, Peter Chrysologus, inquired into local festivities, people assured him that it was all “just for fun”. He thought they were putting him off the scent of something more sinister. For Clegg, they were probably telling the truth. If people, given a day off work and a good excuse, choose to race around dressed as animals, drink a lot and bash each other with sticks, perhaps they do it because it’s a holiday and it’s a laugh.
I’m not surprised Clegg is so attuned to the possibility of fun as a major cultural force, because she has a strong sense of it herself. Her book is both thought-provoking and filled with amusing asides and quips. Like Gibbon, but with more brevity, she puts many of her best jokes in footnotes. We need all the fun we can get, because, as she reminds us in one of her own more serious moments at the end of the book, “beyond the glow of firelight, the shadows are waiting”.

Broken Heart/Broken Mind
Chapter Forty-four
(Human AU)
Sophie and Keefe met in the children's hospital when they were little. Because of how long they were confined to the four walls of the hospital, they became very close during their stay.
As the years pass, they wind up being in the same classroom together due to their physical conditions. This makes their bond deepen.
But are they able to handle when life gets tough, throwing problems and complications their way?
Sophie adjusted her wig. She checked back in the mirror to make sure it was on straight. It was as good as it was going to get.
She walked out of the bathroom and texted Keefe, 'Hey, I'm ready. Are you driving to the costume party, or am I?'
'You can drive this time. I will on the way back,' he responded.
Sophie got into her car and drove over to his house to pick him up. Pulling into the driveway, she couldn't help bust out into giggles.
"You look more ridiculous than I was expecting," she told him.
"You're just jealous you can't rock this like I can," he flipped his long wig and strutted up to the car.
"Says the guy in a dress."
"Hey! It was your idea," he argued.
"Yeah, it was. But YOU'RE the one who insisted on being Rapunzel."
He climbed into the car. "Cause I can do it better." He slid his crown back on his head.
Sophie sighed, exasperated. "At least I can wear shoes as Flynn. I do NOT want to be on that floor barefoot."
"See, it's a win-win!"
"Whatever you say."
They arrived at the party to see their friends waiting by the entrance. Halloween decorations were put up by the doorway.
"Are you guys ready for this?" Biana exclaimed, twirling around in her fairy costume. "I'm totally going to win the costume competition!"
"Yeah. Yeah," Keefe said. "Keep thinking that. Meanwhile, I'll be leaving with that gift basket."
Tam eyed the costume. "Why would you- .... Never mind. I've learned not to ask questions."
"You have. I haven't. Who's your girlfriend?" Keefe gestured to the short blonde girl beside Tam.
Tam went red. "She's not my girlfriend," he hissed.
"Then why are you two holding hands?"
"We're just talking right now," he muttered.
Keefe smirked. Before he could continue to pummel with questions, Tam led the girl over to the snack bar.
"Her name is Marella," Linh supplied. "She's actually pretty fun. I've hung out with her a few times without Tam. But he refuses to give me any juicy details." She rolled her eyes.
"Cause why wouldn't he give us some entertainment."
"I know, right!"
"Alright," Sophie said, grabbing his hand. "Let's go do some of the games. I want to win a pumpkin plush!"
They went around to the darts and apple bobbing. By the time they finished ring toss, Sophie had managed to win three stuffed animals. Keefe had won nothing, and was pouting.
"Would you like me to win you something?" She offered
"Would you?" He gave her puppy dog eyes.
"Sure."
Sophie approached the game. After a few tries, she managed to pop a balloon. When she was handed the prize, she passed it to Keefe. His face lit up.
"Thank you, Foster!" He exclaimed.
She chuckled, "You're welcome."
The rest of the night was spent stuffing their faces at the snack table and filling their pockets with smuggled candy. At last, The winner of the costume contest was announced.
"And the winner is... Keefe Sencen!" The host called out from the stage.
"There's no freaking way he won!" Biana yelled out.
Sophie sighed. She should've known everyone was going to pick the most ridiculous costume

Awww… thank you for the nice comments about my drawing… I do really think that I could have done better ;-; but I’m glad that you liked it. And thank you for the banana, since you were nice to give me a gift, I shall return the favor!
Mature Content Warning.
{ A bit of context: Ok so I ship my oc (her name is D.A. as a nickname) with Link (BOTW/TOTK) a lot… for many different reasons but all you need to know that D.A. is a Tall Queen and Link is her Short King. But that will be another story for another time, so this will be about the Reader of any gender, and the Chain. }
The chain and the reader are just hanging around at a campsite, doing their own thing. Unfortunately it is very hot outside and Wild is not having it at all. So after lunch is over, he chills next to reader under a tree and tries to take a nap. While he sleeps, he began to have a bit of a fun dream. He sees himself at the bottom of the hill, (in the Barbarian Armor cuz I’m that type of person) and on the top of this hill, he sees his flower, but he has to climb to get to them. So he climbs and climbs and climbs, ironically enough, the higher he goes, the hotter the atmosphere is around him. Wild starts to sweat and sweat, but he doesn’t stop, he wants his lover so badly. It’s only at the top, he realizes that his sweetie is a giant now, and unfortunately they can’t hear him from way down there. So he gently climbs onto the hot smooth skin of this beautiful being in front of him. He continues to climb, up their body, all soft and warm, and Wild is starting to become crazy, just aching for relief from this mayor yet. Finally, he makes he way face to face with his lover, with him standing on their chest. And an reward for climbing all the way to the top, Wild is given a kiss from this beautiful beautiful being (kinda like how those huge fairies kiss him when he upgrades or something? I haven’t played the game .3.) When the kiss is done, suddenly there is this waterfall above Wild, giving him the cooling relief he craved so bad as he wails out in satisfaction. Once the ordeal is over, Wild opens his eyes and is meet with a bunch of eyes on him. The Reader and the chain just look at him.
Reader is confused and concerned.
Wind doesn’t even has a clue what is going on as his eyes are being covered by Legend, Hyrule was attempting to cover Wind’s eyes but failed miserably.
Twilight and Sky both have second had embarrassment.
Calamity refuses to acknowledge what the hell just happened for his own mental sanity.
Warriors just has a smirk on his face.
Sage is just disgusted….. DISGUSTING!
And any other Link that I missed, their just have the confusion of da highest orda.
As for Wild… he feels like he is on top of something… so he slowing looks down, face is totally painted the bright shade of red by the way, and below him is an unfortunate (chulu? I honestly don’t know, it’s the blue thing with the eyes) jelly. The jelly seems like it has seem better days, and it wants to be out of its memory. Luckily it’s wish is granted, Wild pulls out his sword and pops it instantly. Eventually everyone continues to go about their day, refusing to mention anything that happened… all but one person that is…
Sage: Y’all get mad at me for how I act, but HE gets a PASS!? …. F all of y’all, all of y’all can go suck a caterpillar di-
Then the Reader just pulls Sage away to give him a stern lectures on how to treat people, but he’ll never listen…
So yeah… I know I draw but I seriously need to start writing all my random ideas and put them on this app… I named myself “mrswritter” damnit!! I’ll work on this one day… but I hope you enjoyed this! Please take your time as you relax from the requests, you’ve feed us so well, now we shall pay the bill. This story was my payment, and as a tip, here’s an apple, a red one this time! 🍎
BRO THE MEAL YOU JUST FED ME I AM LICKING MY FINGERS
Legend is offended on your behalf. Like he is acting like a wounded mother who had someone swear in front of her kid. Hyrule is like, hand to the mouth, shocked.
Twilight is just defeated bc that was who he was mentoring and he doesn't know if he failed wild or Wild failed him. Sky doesn't know where the timeline went wrong.
Time is wondering if it's too late to go back and eradicate the timeline. Wars for sure is smirking because now he gets to hold this over Wild's head forever.
And Cal and Sage? They are by far the most insulted. Cal is downright disgusted since he's more duty bound than the other two, so he's a little more...sophisticated in a way. Sage is furious. He kisses you one time and they separate the two of you for two hours. But Wild can do this and just...get away with it?!
Fucking Double Standard. He is ranting and raving about this constantly. He even gets Cal on his side.
Reader has to prolly scold them both lmao.
I enjoyed it very much! Honestly, it was a struggle to start consistently writing for me lmao. I require no payment, but tidbits like this are always appreciated! Since you've switched it up, I shall too! 🍋 Have a lemon!

Highlands and Heartache
✦✧✦✧♛✧✦✧✦
Part 2 of Blue Lock Royalty AU Headcanons
✦✧✦✧♛✧✦✧✦
(Part 1) (Ao3 link)
✦✧✦✧♛✧✦✧✦
Gender neutral reader, fluff and a bit of angst, mentions of jealousy, gratuitous handwaving the vaguely European worldbuilding, mentions of injury/blood but not in detail, this is my apology to my Naruhaya-loving friend (I’m sorry for doing him so dirty in the last part). Mentions of food, eating meat, and cooking. Again, Ego and Noa aren’t really romantic.
✦✧✦✧♛✧✦✧✦
NOA has convinced Ego to exempt you from his swordplay drills, saying that without previous experience, you’d be more of a burden than a help. You feel guilty lazing around your rooms and watching Reo and all the others slave away in the courtyard, so you wander into the extensive library and begin rummaging around.
After a week or so, you’ve gotten bored enough and decided to explore, where you come across a secret passageway built into a tiny bookshelf crammed into the back wall. It’s covered in dust and cobwebs, untouched by everyone for ages, and although some rationality says to stop, something tantalizing beckons you further. At the end of the winding passage is a tiny room, hardly big enough for you to stand upright. On an altar is a book bound in leather the color of burnished gold, untouched by the layers of time. Touching it feels like the world stutters around you.
You quickly withdraw your hand and leave, making sure there’s no trace of your presence, but when you arrive back in your room that night, the very same book is lying on your pillow. The only way that’s possible is if someone saw you (impossible, you would have gotten asked about it) or… Magic?
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
NESS is, after all, the court Magician, so you ask him about spellbooks at breakfast one day. He scowls, in the middle of a bite. “Most of what you’re describing died out with the dragons. No spellbook follows you around, God, what are you talking about? Magic is practical now, not some stupid airy-fairy incantations, because again, dragons. Nobody knows how to do it anymore.” He finishes his tea and shoots you a glance. “Why are you asking?”
You lie and say you just wanted to make conversation, then offer him his handkerchief back. He seems surprised that you still have it, given the collapse of your home kingdom and such, but doesn’t refuse. Wrapping up a piece of apple cake, he carefully tucks it in his pocket and stands. He wouldn’t be completely opposed to teaching you some basic spells, he adds, almost as an afterthought. You might as well have some use if you’re going to be tangled up in all of this anyways.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
REO hardly ever sees you these days. He’s up before dawn, taking long runs around the forests, then practices battle all day long: duels on foot and horseback, archery, endless drills (and gutted training dummies). After dark, he studies maps and discusses strategies and politics long into the night. He’s matured from the carefree prince; now you can see a wise and noble king in his silhouette. Still, you worry about overwork and stress taking their toll on him.
After a midnight astrology session with Ness, you find yourself in the kitchen. How long has it been since you last cooked anything? Before you met Reo, which was… Hardly a month ago. It seems like so much longer. Your hands find themselves tying an apron around your waist, slicing beef and vegetables, wrapping herbs in cheesecloth and boiling broth. When you hear Reo return from his run, you rush to meet him with a steaming bowl of beef stew. He adores fatty steak and while you might not have the know-how to make that, you can at least make sure he’s fed.
He stares at you for a second before giving you a bone-crushing hug and simply holding you for a while. You relax into his chest and let him, even though the bowl is burning your fingertips.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
CHIGIRI seems to pop up more often than usual ever since you’ve taken to cooking more. You’ve just pulled your third attempt at franz buns out of the oven when he sidles up to the window and begins eyeing the sweet, cinnamonny bread. He’s been nonstop riding and carrying all sorts of messages, he explains, mouth full already, that he hasn’t even had time to stop for a hot meal.
You roll your eyes and begin scooping him a bowl of spatzle noodles, telling him to use the door if he’s hungry. He all but collapses at the table, thanks you for the food, and falls asleep with his head balanced on his hands not long after. You sigh–he must be very tired now if he’d do that without a bath, even. You drape your spare cloak over him and quietly leave, not noticing his small smile after. When you return the next day, there’s a present addressed to you: a set of gloves from the next territory over embroidered with protective runes.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
RAICHI bursts into your room the exact day you’ve finally managed to gather the courage and open the spellbook up to try and puzzle out what’s going on. It doesn’t seem to activate any of the runes on Chigiri’s gloves, at least, but you still start guiltily when he barges in. He’s buzzing with excitement, too wound up to notice you shove the book under some papers and shut the drawer.
Ego has declared them ready to ride back and retake the kingdom, he shouts, waving his dagger around and almost gutting the wall. Finally, his years of boring old guard duty have come to an end and he can see some real action. Girls love that sort of thing, don’t they? He’s leaving with the rest of the company in two days’ time, you’re coming, aren’t you? And, uh, sorry about the wall…
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
SAE doesn’t seem surprised to see you. It’s an unusually warm spring in the mountains, although it’s far colder than it was in Munchen still, and snow is piled against the walls and on roofs everywhere. He takes a small party of you, Reo, Ego, and Noa to show the cave he’s found and pinpointed as the source of the dragon.
All the earthquakes, although extremely inconvenient for him, have uncovered the den of a young dragon, still sleeping peacefully. You nearly collapse at the strength of the magic in the air and he has to rush you back to the surface before something else happens. Fortunately, the clear air does you some good and gives you a little more time to read the spellbook that’s somehow found itself under your pillow, despite your certainty that you left it in Munchen… Maybe it’s got something about dragons in it?
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
KUNIGAMI, escaped from the JFA usurpers, explains to everyone that things are getting dire in the city. With no interests except money and endless parties, infrastructure has fallen to the wayside. In just a few short months, food and wood have become scarce, the guards have become increasingly unsatisfied as wages have been delayed countless weeks, and trade with other kingdoms has slowed to a trickle. Even the workers tending the sacred gardens on the palace grounds, usually so respected, have been harassed. Buratsuta, leader of the  insurgents, has openly contemplated chopping the trees down to make room for a new set of rooms.
Kunigami offers you tea for your headache and doesn’t say much else, nor smile; so different from the kind soldier you used to know. Grimly, Reo declares that plans have been moved up: the trees aren’t just symbolic, but one of the last remnants of draconic magic to exist anywhere in the world. The dragon, like it or not, ready or not, will wake tomorrow.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
HIYORI, with assistance from Anri, is the one who descends into the dragon’s lair and coaxes it to wakefulness. It takes them nearly a full day to drag it out, but fortunately it’s docile enough that it settles down in the large cart with little complaints, then goes back to snoozing. It must be a young one, as fully grown, these creatures can reach larger than most buildings.
After covering its black-and-silver scales with strategically arranged blankets, you board another wagon and set off to the capitol. The journey, already difficult enough the first time you made it, is even moreso now, as more criminals patrol the roads. Hiyori, having heard about your dizzy spell the first time you met the dragon, is understandably cautious when taking you to see it again, but something about the fresh air keeps any further fainting at bay, much to his secret disappointment.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
NIKO leads the way back to the capital city under the cover of night. The dragon seems content to mostly doze and devour wild hogs at an alarming rate. In the outskirts of the city, you hole up in an abandoned warehouse on the docks and wait for the day to pass. Niko goes out to scope the situation and comes back later with good news: the citizens seem uneasy and on edge from the unexpected earthquake earlier (that was your fault, whoops) combined with the new government.
You settle down to look over your spellbook again while everyone else sleeps the afternoon away, but Niko settles next to you and asks if you’re alright. Truthfully, all this stress has been far too tiring, but before you can answer, you feel the familiar tug of magic, but not from the dragon this time: from your spellbook. WHen you look at him like that and beg him not to tell anyone else, you’re so close to figuring it all out, they’re under too much stress without worrying about out-of-control magic already… Now he realizes why people are so weak to puppy dog eyes.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
BACHIRA, although he’s not leading the charge, is the one who manages the dragon, running full tilt through the streets and dragging the rope leash behind him. The dragon sleepily stumbles along, belching the occasional puff of smoke, and you hurry closely behind it, trying to keep your book under control.
It’s started glowing now and you swear there’s a faint sound of bells every time you ruffle through the pages… which have just started to fluff themselves with no help from you! You can’t even blame it on the wind because there really isn’t any! One particularly loud chime catches his ear and he turns around. “That sounds like what summoners play before trying to summon things.” His eyes bore into yours. “Can you feel that?”
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
ISAGI is the first to realize the magic storm that’s whipped up out of nowhere. His first instinct is to look for you, but the wind (where did that come from?) pushes him back. You’re barely half a city block away from him, but the hot air saturated with power sparks mirages, sending your silhouette rippling and twisting into new things. Inside the hurricane, you struggle to keep control over your book, ancient writing suddenly becoming readable and whipping itself off the page.
Your hands burn hot where the runes on your gloves are, glowing a flickering blue-white and keeping you from being overwhelmed with the magic in the air. You can taste it, too, a thick layer that makes the air heavy with the promise of something more. The dragon perks up away, and then throws its head back and roars. For a second, everything stops, then the road gives way and you’re falling. Faintly, you can hear Isagi screaming for you before something else drowns out your panic.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
BAROU, locked in the prisons on the castle grounds, manages to smash his way out when the guards are distracted by the sandstorm you called. He doesn’t exactly know the details, but what he does know is that anyone who gets you hurt will die, painfully, by his hand. When he does make it, which doesn’t take much time because the storm’s been moving ever-closer to the castle, he can see you struggling to keep upright in the middle of everything, screaming or mouthing (the wind’s too loud to tell) some kind of spell as runes try and tear you apart.
There’s a dragon, for whatever godforsaken reason, watching, and when he’s about to step in, it roars and the buildings surrounding it collapse. He staggers out of what used to be a very nice townhouse as the dust clears, and two very important things are gone. Firstly, what happened to the dragon, but most importantly, where are you?
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
TOKIMITSU is under a lot of stress: the new rulers want him to destroy the ancient dragon groves, you’ve disappeared without a trace after the coup, and now there was just a hugely impactful disaster just outside the castle walls. He hurries to the grove to try and calm the trees down and almost drops his (lit) lantern when he gets there.
You stand, submerged up to your elbows in bark, forehead pressed to the tallest tree in the grove. When you pull away, the scent of magic remains. He’s only heard of what just happened: the legends of blessings by dryads in the age of dragons are true, and now you are one who wields the most powerful magic, thought to be extinct for centuries. This time, he really does drop the lantern and bow. You are ethereal and regal and otherworldly.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
KURONA has been laying low this entire time. WIth Niko gone and the rest of the Royal Guards in disarray, he’s been doing just fine pinching food from the larder and using the secret passages to get around. There’s quite a bit of evidence he’s gathered, enough to indict all the JFA members beyond a shadow of a doubt. When he hears screaming, cursing, and the door lock, that’s his cue to step away form the spyglass he’s been using to keep track of everything outside.
He slides the hidden panel open, steps into the JFA headquarters room, and arrests them all for treason under the name of Prince Reo, rightful heir to the throne. None of the JFA seem all that eager to test him, starting over his shoulder at– What? There’s a fully grown dragon outside the window with someone clutching its neck? Please let that be you and please let you be safe.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
YUKIMIYA finds you sprinting out of the castle gate, covered in spell fragments orbiting your hands and head. You grab his hand and run toward the dragon, which is now as tall as the castle itself, pointing and saying something he can hardly hear over the noise. Eventually, he gets the gist about what has happened and rushes to find the others and send backup to the castle. Their small squadron finds the room, courtesy of some subtle yet distinct signs left by Kurona and the JFA (and Niko’s scouting, which included chatting to some of the servants), and completes the arrests, meeting up with Barou along the way.
The whole thing takes less than twenty minutes, after which they all go outside to survey the destruction they left the others to handle. The sun is just beginning to rise when you finally convince the dragon to calm down enough and tuck its wings in so it doesn’t smash any more than it already has. He grabs your hand and points up at the dragon: it looks like there’s someone there?
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
NARUHAYA pops up, a tiny figure on the dragon’s neck, and with the sun’s glare, you aren’t sure who it is before he yells your name. He waves so excitedly he nearly falls off, pointing and saying something to the dragon who gently bends down to let him off. You haven’t seen your friend in what feels like ages, and he suddenly appears with a dragon?
He’s so excited he can hardly talk: After you left, he found an apprenticeship in the capitol. Fortunately, he was far enough out that he was safe during the uprising. He worried about you all winter! When you finally did turn up (and who else would it be but you with Prince Reo and a dragon), he rushed to help under the guise of making a delivery but got kinda buried under some rubble. It’s okay though, because the dragon helped him out! His name’s Gagamaru, by the way and- Huh? Yeah, he can understand the dragon, it’s speaking like a regular human being! Naruhaya takes in all your shocked expressions. Oh, is that not the case? Wait, if he can understand the dragon, does that make him magical like you?
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
GAGAMARU has been asleep for a long time, so he’s not quite caught up with the customs. Naruhaya shows him (in human form) around, insisting on bringing you along for help navigating. Gagamaru can see why: your magical signature reminds him of past ages and the gentle glow attracts people around you, even if humans can’t see it.
You seem happy to explore with them, endlessly curious about his magic: How does it work? What’s the best thing he’s done? Is there anything that he can’t do? It’s been several hundred years since a truly magic dragon was last spotted, apparently, with most “dragons” being glorified large lizards chargrilling livestock. It’s awfully lonely being the last one, but with you it’s not so bad.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
NAGI is having a hard time finding a quiet place to nap ever since your group has returned. Every single one of his favorite nooks around the castle has been taken by traveling scholars, visiting diplomats, and curious magicians, all bustling with hectic energy. Reo assured him that it would calm down in a few weeks, but he’s still sneezing nonstop at the scent of magic and bumping into frantic scribes at every second bend.
Now more than ever he’s needed: to help load and haul away debris; unload and set up temporary shelters; direct citizenry to and fro. It’s all a huge pain when all he wants to do is lay down for a while, preferably with his head in your lap, and just laze the days away. Promise you’ll find some time to do that while it’s still warm? It’s barely summer, but things aren’t showing any signs of slowing down.
✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦
EGO is more than satisfied with the outcomes of the counter-coup. Perhaps a bit too satisfied–he showed up two days after you, hasn’t stopped grinning for the whole week, and holed up in the castle’s library, dictating long and detailed reports to his newly conscripted secretaries and sending them to all the highest-ranking magicians in the world.
You’ve heard rumors he’s even starting work on a book, although when you ask he snorts and replies that he doesn’t have the effort to waste on something so superfluous, would you be willing to have him experiment a few things instead? For the future of the kingdom, you are the linchpin in reviving and reshaping the magical world.
Pick your allies wisely and your lovers even more so, because jealousy has done many a terrible thing to good and honest men.
✦✧✦✧♛✧✦✧✦
I’m not going to do a Part 3 but if you send characters/questions, I’d be delighted to say how they fit in/what happened to them after/etc :D so please do!

Her Summer Will Come
Note: Based on this reddit discussion
Summary: Icy only remembers what happened to Dyamond in bits and pieces. Flora brings those memories to the surface. Icy dreads who she might become if she lets the past back in.
Pairing: Icy/Flora
It has been quite a long time since she has had flowers in her hair. She hasn’t worn a crown of flowers not since…
Icy stares off, fixes her gaze on a vivid blue sky teeming with fluffy white clouds. Now and then a gust will make its way through and throw pretty pink petals into the air, shaken from apple blossom trees.
Pink is not her color.
Pink is Flora's color.
Flora weaves another flower into her white-blue locks. It doesn't suit her at all. Perhaos in another era, another lifetime it would have. Perhaps when her hair had been that dusty blonde color and her magic had been summer.
Sunflowers, she remembers, it used to be sunflowers. Sometimes ticketed and marigold.
Her mother and father would decorate her hair and her dresses with them. Her mother and father…autumn and springtime. Sapphire…winter. They liked to tuck snowballs into her hair when she'd let them.
She tries not to think of them.
When she thinks of them, she misses them terribly.
When she misses them terribly, she feels weak and pathetic.
Those are two emotions that she vowed to never feel again after her summer magic cooled to the chill of autumn and then the deep frost of winter.
When Icy became Icy and the girl that she used to be died. She doesn't Remer what they used to call her. There was Sapphire and her older sister. What the name of Sapphire's older sister? Icy can't remember. She doesn't think that she wants to. Her parents had been Citrine and Moss Agate. But who was she?
It is best to not think about it.
Flora reaches across the picnic blanket and over their picnic basket. She takes Icy's frigid hands and weaves their fingers together.
Her touch is always so warm. Warm like the springtime. She smells like springtime. Like lilac and lily and apple blossom. Like grass newly cut.
It reminds her of her father. She can't put a face to the name Moss Agate anymore but she remembers how it felt to hear his voice. Remembers how it felt to have him scoop she and Sapphire into his arms and twirl them around.
She had been a happy child, she thinks.
And then it had been taken.
She won't let those memories back in, they torment her.
“I think that this was a nice picnic.” Flora comments.
Strawberries, watermelons, and other fresh fruits. Lemonade with clinking ice cubes. It isn't exactly her taste but it wasn't a bad lunch.
It tickles some part of her mind.
It reminds her of home.
It reminds her of when she was summer.
Icy sighs and lays down. Her hair fans out around her. It has been quite some time since she has worn her hair loose.
Flora has her doing a lot of things that she hasn't done in a long time. Feeling a lot of things that she hasn't felt in ages.
Things that she is nervous to feel.
Things that a witch ought not to feel.
She doesn't want to feel the things that she does. If she lets these feelings back in she won't be able to keep them in check. If she lets them back in then what will become of her magic? If witch magic is powered by distress and dark thoughts and fairy magic is fueled by hope, love, and joy…
She has been so angry, so hurt, and so miserable for so long.
Her magic won't be the same.
She won't be the same.
And then what will happen to her sisters?
“You're doing it again.” Flora remarks. She rests a hand on Icy's knee. The wind ruffles the fairy's strawberry-print dress.
“Doing what?”
“Overthinking.”
“It's a habit.”
Flora nods. “Not a helpful one.”
“I'm not a helpful person.”
“You can be though.” Flora lays down next to her and holds a hand over her chest. “You're a good person. Deep down,I know that you are.”
Icy's stomach flutters. That is precisely what she is fretting over. “I shouldn't be. I don't want to be.”
“Why not? Whats wrong with letting yourself…evolve?”
People take advantage of her. She remembers it now. They intimidated her. Sapphire had more spine and guts that she did. And for her weakness and anxiety, her kingdom had fallen.
If she lets joy and affection back in then the door is open for anxiety and the kind of weakness she can't afford. “I don't want to lose Darcy and Stormy.” She says instead. It is an easier, simpler way of putting words to a complex tangle of thoughts and emotions that she can't quite grasp for herself.
“They won't leave you. They're your friends.”
“You don’t know how witch friendships work.”
Flora hums, tapping her fingers against Icy's chest, upon the snowflake that she has tattooed there. “They're fiercely loyal and very close. They just act all tough about it. Those two have known you fir such a lo g time, they won't leave you.”
“But what if they do?” There it is. That horrid anxiety that puts a tightness in her chest. “I can't lose them.” They aren't all that she has, not anymore, now that she has this thing with Flora. But they mean too much to her. Her chest constrict that much more. She cares about them. She…loves them.
Flora squeezes her hand. “Did they leave you after they found out about us?”
Icy shakes her head.
Flora's hand cups her cheek. “They won't leave you. You'll still be you even if you magic changes.”
But she wasn't herself the first time that she changed.
“I don't think that I will be.”
“Why do you say that?” Flora furrows her brows.”
“Because I wasn't the same the first time.” And so it all comes out. The tale of a princess whose home frosted over. Dyamond, the planet of seasons, locked within a perpetual winter be ause their princess was too afraid to fight for them. The tale of a witch who fell prey to power lust when she finally acquired the power to mend her kingdom.
And she remembers. It all floods back in. The bedtime stories and lullabies. The garden of crystal flowers and the elegant seasonal masquerades.
She removers sweltering summer magic rippling golden from her hands.
She misses it so terribly but she has grown to love her winter.
She is Icy.
She is winter.
She was…what was her name?
She was summer.
She was meant to be the summer to Sapphire's winter.
Flora kisses her cheek and she swallows hard. Because she no longer knows who she is. Who she wants to be. She is somewhere caught between winter and summer. Between Icy and that other person.
So does that make her springtime?
The apple blossoms in her hair rustle. The ribbons in her hair flutter.
Flora tells her that her springtime will come eventually, that it might already be here and then her summer will come again.
And she dreads the day that it does.
Because who will she be?
Who is Icy without her winter.
She would be Carnelian
Yes. That was her name.
Carnelian
She is Icy and she is Carnelian. Her summer will come again and it will go. And her winter will return.
Yes, she remembers now…
Her powers are fluid, ever changing, ever shifting until she wills them to settle.
She is Icy and she is Carnelian

For the Avians you’ve already posted, what are their favorite foods?
AHHH! I'm sorry my friend! I swear I saw this ask the day you sent it I've just been slacking because I started a new file for BOTW. 😅 Anyways! All their favorite foods are all the recipes you can make in BOTW because Wild is the one that mainly makes their food and also because it's easier that way.
Time - Warm Milk Meaty Rice Balls. "The sweet and spicy meat stuffed into these rice balls will keep you full for some time." Time to me just seems like the kind of guy that enjoys food that he can eat with one hand. That on top of the practical element that this food keeps you full for some time just seems like something he would enjoy and prefer to eat while on the road.
Twilight - Pumpkin Stew. "Simply simmer a fortified pumpkin to make this dish. A favorite in Kakariko Village." This man canonically made pumpkin stew in his adventure so this is his favorite food mainly because it reminds him of home and also because it's one of the only foods he is actually able to cook.
Sky - Salmon Risotto. "Restores your health and temporarily increases your maximum hearts. The rice used in this rich risotto permeates the light flavor of the salmon." I don't even have a solid explanation or reason for this one I just feel it in my soul that Sky loves seafood. Turns out there's not a lot of fish when you live in the sky.
Warriors - Carrot Cake. "Even those who don't like carrots tend to enjoy the mild sweetness of this cake." Ironically, I don't think this is Warriors' favorite food because of taste, but more because of the memories he associates it with. I'm a huge supporter of the "Warriors is a Momma's boy" agenda and I headcanon that his mom made carrot cake for his birthday every year when he was young and that's why he still loves it to this day.
Legend - Apple Pie. "The crispy, flaky pie crust and sweet apples are a match made in heaven." Listen, I know the Zelda manga aren't technically canon but neither is this Winged AU so I can believe what I want in my heart. Anyways, in the A Link to the Past manga his whole goal is for his apple orchard to succeed so I'm a firm believer that Legend LOVES anything with apples, but apple pie holds a secret special place in his heart.
Hyrule - Monster Cake Creamy Heart Soup. "Enjoying this sweet soup with another person will bring you both closer together." Hyrule is such a sweetheart with so much love to give you cannot convince me that his favorite food wouldn't be the creamy heart soup. Also the fact that hearty radishes are one of the best ingredients to replenish hearts fits with his whole fairy/healing agenda.
Wild - Wildberry Crepe. "Sweet, tart wildberries are folded into thin, springy dough to make this dessert." Aside from literal rocks, I just feel like this would be his favorite "treat yourself" comfort food. Other than that, I don't really have solid reasoning for this choice other than the fact that I think he deserves to have nice things and also because this is my favorite thing to make in BOTW.
Four - Curry Rice. "A favorite all over Hyrule, this simple dish has a flavor you just won't get tired of." I headcanon that Four is a pretty easy guy to please when it comes to food. He's basically four racoons in a trench coat so it's pretty easy to guarantee that SOME PART of him will like whatever he is eating, though he does tend to favor slightly spicier foods.
Wind - Seafood Meuniere. "Rich butter flanks fresh seafood. The secret ingredient is lots and lots of love." Now go ahead and try to tell me that that description is not something his Grandma would say. Try it I dare you lol. Anyways that phrase combined with the fact that it is a seafood dish just SCREAMS Wind to me.
Anyways, these are all just my personal headcanons! Let me know if you all had any other ideas or headcanons in mind! 😊

hii if its not a bother could u possibly do a mini fic of little!venti cg!aether? idrk abt the scenario tho /_\
LITTLE!VENTI AND CG AETHER? I love them.
Tumblr media
Minific plot: a crowded angel's share gets to Venti. Luckily, Aether can help.
-
Despite Venti being a bard, he wasn't really...good at being front and centre. He could quite easily get lost in his music and alcohol, but once he realises how crowded and loud the tavern is, it hits him like a metaphorical brick. He was never particularly good with crowds, and he isn't exactly sure as to why but the issue still stands.
A bard that can't handle large crowds in a tavern. How ironic.
Tonight was one of those nights, and the tavern was relatively lively. Mostly still tavern-goers that he knows. but he still feels....scared. Despite that, he only has to focus on Aether to calm himself down. His eyes were beautiful, and he loved the other deeply- not that he knew.
The two had been sat at the same table for a while, doing a relative catch-up. With all that happened in Fontaine, and the rather wind-less location of the Fortress of Meropide, he's not been able to watch the blonde and his fairy companion.
Dread began to set in, and unlike his usual self, he pauses mid sentence.
"Venti, are you okay?"
Tears began to run down his cheeks, as he hastily attempts to wipe them away with the cuffs of his outfit.
"M...good." he smiled, despite crying. "Jus' lots'a people."
Aether had experienced this before. He was unsure if Venti was a regressor, but he wasn't doing good in Angel's Share. The tavern had become a bit too crowded for his liking also, with the addition of a berry-flavoured alcoholic drink, the nation was quite literally going buck-wild for the beverage.
Still, Aether took it upon himself to assist his friend.
"Do you want to leave?"
Venti shook his head, glancing at the staircase behind Aether. "C'we go up...?"
Aether ignored the other's thumb nestled in his mouth, and quietly turned around to glance up at the secondary floor, something which was visible from where they were both sat. The floor was overcrouded as well, with every table being occupied by a resident.
"We can't, kiddo."
To this, Venti whined to the other, using his free hand to wipe more tears from his cheeks, sniffling after. Mostly, he'd calmed down, but he was still upset!
"Come on, we'll leave and go get something to eat at Goodhunter. On me."
With a sniffle, Venti stood up and toddled over to the door, ignoring the drunkards around him. Aether held his hand, leading him quietly to the mentioned restaurant. He sat down, clearly a bit...mentally small. Any small noise or sudden movement would distract him, and anything particularly shiny would steer his attention.
"Venti, you okay?"
He nodded, thumb still in his mouth. Aether took a small chance, trying to get the other's finger out of his mouth with a simple nudge, nothing more- and Venti originally did such, wiping it on his shorts.
"Sorry, I have a sort'a...headspace?" Venti began to frantically explain. Aether's chuckle quickly cut him off.
"It's alright, I figured. With the thumb stuff, and the fact that your waistband isn't particularly hidden right now."
Franticlaly, Venti wrapped his cape around the other, before Aether chuckled again. "That's happened to me a few times before. People in Angel's Share are probably too drunk to tell left from right, much less what anyone's wearing under their clothes."
He chuckled. "You are right."
"Plus, I do age regression too."
Venti put two and two together, and nearly choked on his apple slice. "What?"

(part 1 . part 2)
Part of him wants to go back home and ignore all of this, but Akane doesn't knows want to risk being killed or captured now that he is a fairy. He knows fairies are very rare and most people want to get their hands on one...
He needs to turn back into a human before going home. Maybe this map will lead him to the cure, why else would he be desperate to follow it? There must be a mage or a witch that can heal him on the end of the road, considering how this 'Aoi' make him feel a vague sense of joy, she must be the one capable of healing him! All he needs to do is follow the map and everything would be alright.
So Akane reluctantly turned towards a forest he never visit outside cutting logs for winter and started walking, going way past his kingdom's borders. It felt nice, to be around trees, but the overwhelming sound of rushing water and birds and things constantly moving in the trees made him so stressed, it didn't help that this new body was far more fragile than usual, he tired out easily.
It took an embarrassingly long time to remember he can fly now and he hated the feeling of wind on his ears.
His first attempts to fly were clumsy, he slamed head-first into a tree once, but even his pathetic flying was faster than on foot, able to camp on top of trees when it was night. On his third day, he got used to the gist of how flight work, and accidentally learned he can shrink to the size of an apple, but his supplies and clothes don't shrink with him, this knowledge is followed by nearly being crushed by his own canteen of water so he stays human-sized, always. He hates being a fairy and will complain to himself at least ten times a day.
Akane reached the end of the forest after far more breaks than he would have liked and very reluctantly headed to a small cave hidden in the middle of nowhere like the map told him to.
The cave must be magic, for once he stepped inside he felt a shiver down his spine, flowers the color of his eyes blooming from the walls and turning it into a natural curtain he could easily push aside and walk through. Akane expected more forest and flowers but he landed near tall blue walls and a double door gate.
There is a hooded person at the front gate, likely a guard. The person is alone.

Day 30: Halloween
Bones puffed on his cigarette as he leaned against a wall. Old town Reedsdale was busy tonight, kids running around the festival grounds in bright colors and garish clothes, adults were in masks and long robes. Teenagers were chatting amongst themselves as they quickly shoved various materials into a sacks. Probably setting up for a hell of a prank. At least, Bones knew that’s what he would’ve done at their age. Bones adjusted the black cloak over his shoulders. His own face was painted lightly with old marks. Runes. Those that would otherwise raise eyebrows in the light of day would be fine tonight. The festivities would allow for it. For even if Reedsdale was one of the last standing places that hadn’t struck their mages with the yokes and collars of serving “schools” or “towers,” it was still quite taboo to roll around as one openly. At least, all nights except for tonight.
Tonight, the city was Esc’lyr’s Ballroom, and all the citizens were mages, monsters, and fairies, for at least one evening. The goddess of wind, time, and most importantly magic decreed her celebrations be made in full spirit of those things forbidden on most other nights. No one would look twice at a casual sparkle or odd twitch of the finger. No one would second guess a drink with a light shimmer and the warmth of a good feeling in their throat. It gave Bones a much needed sense of ease. Truth be told, most residents figured out who to turn to for a potion or a charm on this night. It was one of the last ways that information could be passed freely.
Blowing out a puff of smoke, Bones smiled gently. He felt like himself again, like he didn’t need to hide away so much. Each kid that ran by him, he slipped a piece of candy into their pocket with a wave of his finger and a soft glimmer of purple sparkles. Each one giggled with delight upon finding their treat a few steps away. Content, and now finished with his smoke, Bones stepped away from the wall and returned to his little stand. A few bottles with elegantly tied bows around their necks lined the single wooden counter. Each a different color, each with a label that described directions in his scratchy handwriting. Most were just libations for tonight. Something to make you feel good or get in good with a lover. But a few were intended as salves or quick repairs to problems. Things his momma used to make.
A large stack of money slapping against the counter woke him from his thoughts. “I’ll take one of each.”
Bones snorted, recognizing the voice. “Ain’t gonna work on ya, love.” His reflective, silver eyes bouncing moonlight back onto Serena’s cheek. “You’d need to be alive for that.”
She looked lovely, dressed in a scarlet gown, one perfect to go dancing in later that evening. Makeup around her eyes gave the impression of a mask, without the disdainful need to wear one. She looked gorgeous with one of her deep red roses pinned to the side of her hair. But her red painted lips frowned slightly at his words. “What makes you believe I would drink them?”
He shook his head chuckling more. “Now there’s a thought. You, drinkin’ that.” He leaned on the counter with a grin. “I ain’t takin’ your money, doll. I got too much pride for that.”
“Hmm.” She considered that a moment. “You’ve mentioned that before. I don’t doubt the earnestness. Though something in your heartbeat tells me you don’t want me poring over this to find your secrets.”
Now he broke out into a roar of laughter, startling a woman at the booth next to him who nearly dropped a tray of candied apples. “C’mon darlin’!” He raised a brow playfully. “You think you can pull out all the mysteries of this world? All the secrets outta lil old me?”
She crossed her arms, looking at him with a mix of disgust and amusement. Words didn’t need to cut her intentions to his ear. A cheeky grin crossed his face, as his voice whispered in her ear without him moving his lips. “I’d like to see ya try.”
“Is that a challenge?” The Lady responded darkly, though the sparkle hadn’t yet left her eye.
His voice floated to her other ear, a light breeze coursing through the plaza that shuffled the ribbons and banners on all the other stalls. “A request even. If you’d dare.”
Bones declared victory internally as she turned her head away, the faintest linger of blush coating her cheeks. Her deflection echoed like music in the night. “Let me buy the rest of them, we have to leave soon, lest we be late for our venue.”
Standing quickly and a little too fluidly to be natural, Bones took his proper place at her side and his voice returning to the confines of his throat. “Hm, I could part with them for the rest of the crowd. Can’t have you late now, can we?”
“Very well.” She conceded softly, wrapping a hand around his arm.
Turning to the apple stall owner, Bones smiled gently as they passed. “Ma’am, the rest of them bottles are free to take. They’ve been paid for. Y’all make sure they get passed ‘round tonight.”
The woman looked confused, but only nodded in agreement. Content with that as an answer, Bones led his love down the crowded alleyway, making sure to take efforts to enjoy the city’s mood. This air was only so thick once a year. He needed every moment to savor it.

Mushroom facts!?
Okay yes!
Mushrooms can produce their own wind for one. This helps with their spores to spread. Upon death they can also spew spores.
There are over 14000 mushroom species known. Because of this, they are the largest life form in earth.
Mushrooms are more genetically related to humans than plants. ( hence why the Hivemind stuff makes so much sense)
Mushrooms actually allow trees to ‘talk’ to each other.
And are the best known way to diet as they are low in calories but high in nutrition intake.
It was found lighting can help with mushroom growth.
They are a great pesticide, natural one too, so they don’t hurt your garden.
Mushrooms are technically the ‘fruit’ of fungus.
Due to how well they decay stuff, it’s found mushrooms might be a way to help plastic degrade naturally.
The reason for Fairy Circles, mushrooms in a Circle, is an indication the soil in that area is very rich in nutrients
All mushrooms are connected to each other by a root system underground.
Other Random Plant Facts
- The Casotr Bean plant produces a deadly poison known as Ricin, it’s a great mouse repellent plants as it’s seeds and roots are deadly.
- this plant was also known as the ‘palm of Christ’ as its seed oil was thought to cure anything.
- the Multi Flora Rose, which grows in the wild, could potentially give you a flesh eating bacteria if it’s throne poke through your skin.
- for the longest time people thought tomatoes, which are in the Nightshade family, were deadly to eat.
- turns out the acid in tomatoes was just soaking up the arsenic in their metal plants.
- Peanut Plants are covered in an oil on the outside the burns and melts your skin. But the seeds inside are edible.
- the Sand Box Tree is very deadly, it’s fruits explode and shoot seeds out at up to 150 mph.
- Pineapples don’t grow on trees, it’s a stalky ground like plant, of which the pineapple grows out of the middle of it.
- Evergreens don’t hibernate like other trees, but they do shed their pines all year round. And do have a dormant state in the winter.
- if you plant an apple seed, you will not the the apple that you ate from it. This is because all apple trees and apple varieties are a result of graphing other branches onto a tree.
- Mints spread like wildfire. This is due to their shallow roots that spread out and shoot up more plants like themselves. Plant a mint and you’ll have your whole garden taken over.
- Hopps make beer and are a vine plant.
I’ll shut up now. I took classes on plants for a degree in them. My teacher loved to talk about shrooms and trees.
That's a lot of mushrooms my god--
Bruh thank for these facts omg
Dude peanuts out here tryna kill us

Wintry Book Recommendations: Last Day of RIPL’s Winter Reading Challenge
Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah
Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters. As children, the only connection between them was the Russian fairy tale Anya sometimes told the girls at night. On his deathbed, their father extracts a promise from the women in his life: the fairy tale will be told one last time - and all the way to the end. Thus begins an unexpected journey into the truth of Anya's life in war-torn Leningrad, more than five decades ago. Alternating between the past and present, Meredith and Nina will finally hear the singular, harrowing story of their mother's life, and what they learn is a secret so terrible and terrifying that it will shake the very foundation of their family and change who they believe they are.
A Fatal Winter by G.M. Malliet
In A Fatal Winter, Max - Anglican priest, former MI5 agent, and village heartthrob - investigates two deaths at Chedrow Castle. But his growing attraction to Awena Owen complicates his case, as does the recent arrival at Chedrow Castle of a raucous group of long-lost, greedy relatives, any one of whom has a motive for murder. With a cozy setting, intricate puzzles, and a handsome (non-celibate) priest doing the sleuthing, the books in this series are destined to become instant classics in the mystery world.
This is the second volume in the “Max Tudor” series.
A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy
Stoneybridge is a small town on the west coast of Ireland where all the families know one another. When Chicky Starr decides to take an old, decaying mansion set high on the cliffs overlooking the windswept Atlantic Ocean and turn it into a restful place for a holiday by the sea, everyone thinks she is crazy. Helped by Rigger (a bad boy turned good who is handy around the house) and Orla, her niece (a whiz at business), Chicky is finally ready to welcome the first guests to Stone House’s big warm kitchen, log fires, and understated elegant bedrooms. John, the American movie star, thinks he has arrived incognito; Winnie and Lillian are forced into taking a holiday together; Nicola and Henry, husband and wife, have been shaken by seeing too much death practicing medicine; Anders hates his father’s business, but has a real talent for music; Miss Nell Howe, a retired schoolteacher, criticizes everything and leaves a day early, much to everyone’s relief; the Walls are disappointed to have won this second-prize holiday in a contest where first prize was Paris; and Freda, the librarian, is afraid of her own psychic visions.
Sharing a week with this unlikely cast of characters is pure joy, full of Maeve’s trademark warmth and humor. Once again, she embraces us with her grand storytelling.
The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah
I came busting into the world during one of New York's worst snowstorms, so my mother named me Winter.
Ghetto-born, Winter is the young, wealthy daughter of a prominent Brooklyn drug-dealing family. Quick-witted, sexy, and business-minded, she knows and loves the streets like the curves of her own body. But when a cold Winter wind blows her life in a direction she doesn't want to go, her street smarts and seductive skills are put to the test of a lifetime. Unwilling to lose, this ghetto girl will do anything to stay on top.
This is the first volume in “The Coldest Winter Ever” series.

Anything you’re looking forward to this month? Well, the month is nearly over now but I guess the long weekend even though I’m working for most of it lol.
What’s the current temperature? It was around 16 degrees but it felt colder because of the wind.
Have you or would you ever forage for mushrooms? I have done, yeah.
What’s something you dislike about spring time? I LOVE spring for the most part. The only thing I don’t like is how changeable it is and how hard it can be to dress for the weather.
What’s your favorite lollipop flavor? Raspberry or apple. I also loved the chocolate and vanilla Chup-a-Chups. Can you still get those? lol.
Are you into gardening and what do you enjoy planting? I love the idea of plants and flowers but being honest, I’m too lazy to maintain any kind of garden lol. We just have a lawn and a patio in the garden.
What’s some flowers you find to be pretty? Sunflowers, cherry blossoms, roses, jasmines, lily’s, orchids.
Would you say you’re easy to get along with? No.
Who did you last hold hands with? Mike.
What sounds help you sleep? Silence or white noise are both fine for me.
Do you have a loud or more soft laugh? I think it depends on the circumstances.
Tell me your best pick up line. I can’t say I really have any lol.
What’s a song that reminds you of warm weather? Smile by Lily Allen.
Do you have any interest in fairies? I mean, I don’t believe in them but I used to love reading books about them and I quite like the whole aesthetic of fairy doors and flower crowns.
What’s the last refreshing drink you had? Ginger Ale.
Do you name your plants? I don’t have any plans.
Do you like to dip your fries in a frosty or ice cream? Yeah, I always do that when we get McFlurry’s.
Do you prefer staying in cuddled up or going out for a date? Both are nice, it depends on the weather and my mood lol.
Cookies or brownies? Cookies.
What is something you are proud of? My business.
Are you a fan of musicals? Yeah, some of them. I used to watch loads when I was younger but admittedly I haven’t seen a new one in a while.
Do you like lemonade? Do you add anything to it? I love Pimms and lemonade, or raspberry or rose lemonade. I’m not really a huge fan of it by itself, to be honest.
Are you more of a fast talker or do you talk more slow? I’m definitely more of a fast talker.
Is there anyone who makes you smile no matter what mood you’re in? My dog.
What is something that is quick to cheer you up? My animals, food, sleep.
Have you ever stargazed with someone? Yes.
If you were royalty, what would you like to be addressed as? I’m good.
Are there any foods you could eat daily and never get sick of? Potatoes in some form or another.
Are there any things coming up that you have to travel for? Not immediately, but I’m off to Manchester in October to see a play.
What was a time when you have laughed so hard you cried? Today at a message Ella sent me ha. I’d just dropped her dog back after his walk and she messaged me saying she’d gone to kiss him but he had pee on his head LOL. Dogs can be so gross sometimes.
Plan a good day. A nice lie-in, a dog walk on the beach with Mike, followed by brunch  somewhere, then a drive up the coast for a day out.
What would you do with $10,000 right now? Buy a new laptop, buy a new car and go on holiday.
If you had to create an alter ego for yourself, what would they be like and what’s their name? Nah, I’m good.
What’s one of your biggest accomplishments today? Doing four dog walks.
Do you believe in reincarnation? why or why not? No. It’s a nice idea but I just don’t believe it’s possible.
What relative are you closest with? My mum.
Do you have any recurring dreams? Yeah, most definitely. I also have dreams that follow on from each other night after night, lol.
What last had you startled? A loud noise.
What emotion have you experienced most lately? Happiness.
Let’s say there are no obstacles preventing this.. What would you do for the rest of your life? Travel the world and then get ALL the animals.
What last made you feel proud? My business and how well it’s doing.
What’s an odd phobia someone you know has? I heard of someone who had a fear of cotton wool.
What did you last search online? A kind of flower I didn’t know the name of.
Do you have any ghost stories you’ve experienced? Nope.
If you were to be a food, what would you be and why? One with a long-life that isn’t eaten, lol.
When did you last dust your home? Saturday.
If you could pick an age to stop aging at, what would you choose? My thirties have been great.
