Ranboo’s boundaries

Since I know some people really like to have a specific thread of boundaries, I thought I'd throw some together for Ranboo just for quick reference!

Ranboo's boundaries are not on a rule by rule basis, they prefer people use common sense. This list is not exhaustive.

Ranboo’s overall ask is to be kind! When you are interacting with people inside and out of the community, be kind first. Be good people and be respectful.

Don't do anything that would hurt Ranboo or anyone else in the community. That means no racism, antisemitism, ableism, homophobia/transphobia, sexism, general bigotry etc.!

If there’s something that ranboo has done that makes you uncomfortable, please call it out. Ranboo encourages being corrected and wants to know when he’s made mistakes. He is a human and he WILL make mistakes. They will always apologize and try to do better.

Ranboo is an adult and can speak for himself. if he has an issue with the way something is being done in the community, he will speak on it. especially when it comes to fanart, don’t harass artists on the specific ways they draw ranboo. If they’d had a problem with it previously they would have said something.

Again, Ranboo is an adult. You don’t have to baby them. He can swear and drink and stay up late like any other adult can. He knows how to take care of himself.

Ranboo also doesn’t need to be defended. People are allowed to not like him, and trying to fight people who don’t like him is unhealthy, pointless, and paints the community in a bad light. Uplift the good instead!

If someone is being weird or makes a mistake, don’t dogpile them. Politely correct them, and if they continue to push things block and move on.

Don’t mention Ranboo in places they aren’t relevant. Don’t chat hop to ask their friends about him, DM his friends to try to get in contact with them, just in general don’t view his friends as extensions of him. They are all incredibly talented people and doing that just hurts Ranboo and his friends because it makes them not want to make content together!

Ranboo is fine with all compliments as long as they aren’t explicit. they are fine with all gendered terms. He uses he/they pronouns and is nonbinary and gay. They aren’t okay with shipping.

Ranboo is strictly against AI content, including AI generated art and voice covers. Support artists!!

If you are intentionally going against these restrictions it will result in a ban in chat, which means a ban from watching all streams, as well as crossbans to all of their friends chats. Ranboo doesn’t ban on genuine mistakes, but if it’s repeated behavior their mods have full authority issuing bans.

Again, be kind. If you are kind, patient, and respectful, and you listen to criticism and try to be the best person you can be you are doing everything right! Happy boobing ❤️

The thing about fem! Yuu, is that I do genuinely think she’d be treated a bit differently than her male and gn counterparts, not in a weird way though ofc, just that some characters would treat her differently. Like, Leona is obviously going to be a bit more respectful to her, or maybe Deuce wouldn’t know how to talk to her at first. After a couple of weeks or maybe a month I think they’d just. Forget that she was a girl and start treating her the same regardless. Idk, there would be slight differences but nothing that’s like. Weird or anything. Because NRC is an all boys school so fem! Yuu would be even more of an “outcast” for lack of a better word, but that’d be gone in a month

I got fed up always see female characters being pushed to the side in fics to focus on the male characters

And my ladies need love to! So have this book I made because of that reason and out of spite

Also, I did the math, 78% of ship fics in hermitcraft are MLM, further more, when you exclude F/M and M/M and only include F/F only 41% of the total WLW ship category remains

And 65% of all shipping fics in empire are MLM, exclud mlm and flm and only 56% of the total WLW ship catory remains

How interesting!

In all seriousness, I DO get it, I mean, 95% of the members of both smps are male. But I also know the other reason there's more fics focused on male characters and ships rather than female characters and ships.

And why even when the female ship is tagged, they get side lined and put in the background in favor of the male ship

I love spuffy as much as the next guy but ohhh my gawddd I really kinda wish it had been buffy wil and xand to finish the fight. they started it together, and while they've always had outside help, I just think it would've been so good if each of them had their own big important parts to play since this was the last we get to see of them

Potentially unpopular opinion, but I love that Miguel was an asshole again in the second part of this season! It’s a reminder that he’s a character and not just Johnny’s main support. I mean Robby didn’t deserve it at all, but it makes sense that Miguel couldn’t help taking his anger out on him. And I love that Johnny was on the receiving end of it, because it feels like the tension between them just went away for no reason.

You’re never bothering me, and I completely agree! They so rarely give Miguel any narrative agency these days, and like Johnny all it does is reduce him as a character. Miguel is a whole, complicated, messy teenager. He isn’t a saint. He isn’t perfect. He makes mistakes and has ugly unfair feelings sometimes, like every single teenager does. And I love when this show actually lets him be like this, lets him be wrong, lets him be a little bit of a dick to the people he cares about who don’t deserve it. Lets him be a real person with actual human feelings. And then also lets him take accountability for what he does wrong, apologize, show how much he’s grown, that he is a good person and a good friend. I love it truly, and it feels like it’s something that in a lot of ways hasn’t really been granted to Miguel since he fell off that balcony.

ok but im rly into the idea of till having a new era that brings the light back to his eyes and drives him forward if he gets to escape the arena. idk where he'd go from there but i want to see ivans sacrifice both haunt him and drive him to actually live his damn life after being the captured bird refusing freedom cause of mizi. once he knows she's alive with the resistance he might be able to actually experience other things and widen his world and if that happens and he puts his personal sense of rebellion towards the human cause OR settles into finding some other way to feel fulfilment that isn't a single person that could be deeply fascinating to me i think

Kinda fascinated by how Buck and Eddie specifically will go and visit or follow up with people from their calls together as a duo, even if they don't interact with the people necessarily. They always circle back, and almost always together. With Marisol, they went back to help fix her place. With the lady who did a living funeral, they went and visited her grave together. With Charlie, Buck found him and they went and saw how he was doing at the horse therapy center together.

It feels very much like stepping beyond the glass doors together. Where they both know they're not the type who can just let calls go and never get any sort of closure, so instead of just bottling it up, they go and check-in for themselves and always with the support of each other, because I don't usually see any other member of the firefam with them.

Something about that silent support, the no-questions-asked 'I will be there for you' regardless of the severity of the call or how much it seemingly didn't effect the other person. Idk, it's a small thing but it's recurred enough times now that it feels like a ritual.

Edit 2/7/24: Okay, I was rewatching season 4 and 5, and I definitely think this ritual of Buck and Eddie going together to check in with calls after saving them definitely started after Eddie's breakdown in 5x13, starting with them going to visit Charlie in 5x14. It definitely stemmed from them needing reassurance that even if they lose the people they save, their actions weren't for nothing, and to just get the trauma of that off their chest before it builds into another breakdown. It's just another beautiful way in which these two support each other in a way no one else does and I love that it's continued into season 6 and I hope it continues into season 7 and beyond.
