What the Koopalings get each other [headcanon]:

Larry: Tries to get something off their Christmas list, but ends up buying something totally different, but the Koopalings still love it bc he’s the youngest and they know he tried.

Roy: Tries effortlessly to find something in his room, and ends up getting them something cheap and plastic, or a small candy bar.

Lemmy: I honestly think he likes to create his gifts, or buying something and decorating it will stickers and paint. I also like to think he likes to blow up balloons and create them into small animals to decorate around the castle.

Wendy: Makes jewelry out of their favorite color.

Iggy: Anything that pranks them. (He once gave Wendy a flower, and when she smelled it, it squirted icy cold water at her)

Morton: Buys the most expensive thing off everyone’s Christmas list :)

Ludwig: Bakes them each their favorite treats, and they are happy bc they know if Ludwig cooks it’s gonna be good.

Bonus hc: When it was Christmas, and Jr was 3, Iggy worked hard making him something that he still loves till this day: his mechakoopa. Iggy made it for him 💚. The sad part about this is that Jr doesn’t know Iggy made it for him and he thought it was his dad…

Love the AUHD Hobie headcanons, they are ACCURATE! If I may interject with some based on my own experiences?

Object permanence is a super real and super annoying thing to him. If it's not in his line of sight, his brain cannot comprehend it.

He takes medication and whilst important, he often has to be reminded to take it

Can't hydrate to save his life, he hates water but can tolerate squash, but super strong. He's told by others it doesn't count but seeing that it's mostly water, it totally does. This is based on my experience when I was in Australia last year

Object permanence hits so hard. That's why he has so many pockets and keeps his guitar on him - and he'd STILL forget and find it in his pocket later. He probably doesn't keep much around because having too much stuff is like...mental burden, but the things he does have he has copies of if he can - like guitar picks and pens And the medication gkhjgfk I love that - and inversely, sometimes he'll go to take his meds and Gwen will just be like 'you took them'. And he'd be like 'ffs' because if he isn't reminded he'll forget but if he is reminded he might take a double dose (im the double dose king sadly kjdghgkjdf) (I cannot take southern hemisphere temperatures I went to Thailand earlier this year and was WIPED)

OOOHHH yeah and I can definitely see him wanting to stick to one drink. Like only drinking MILK. And everyone side-eyes him cause he will pour a cold glass of milk for himself and down it and drink ONLY that

3. Has your Character been using their illithid powers?

I can’t remember the exact occasion, but Saedra did try it out once, and the sensation was so gross and invasive she never did it again. That said I do have the hc (thanks to that Tumblr post) that sharing a tadpole connects the Team in certain ways without them even thinking about it, like having a new limb. They know each other’s positions, movements, moods and even fleeting sensations, and that part of it is not gross or invasive to her. She has neither body nor team dysphoria.

24. Was your illithid tadpole empowered by anything in Act 1? If so, how does your Character feel about that?

Saedra hasn’t even considered taking a bite of a tadpole and I actually have no idea what would happen if she did. (Now that she’s at the end of Act II and has developed more confidence in her ability to take control of her own power I wonder if she and Astarion will sit down to a little secret snack together one of these days. We’ll see.)

14. Do you have another NPC you loved from a faction not mentioned above? What about your Character?

I’m a big Barcus fan. Much to Astarion’s annoyance so is Saedra. She’s really rooting for the guy after all he’s been through. He’s small and pathetic but damned if he’s giving up. She relates.

17. What does your Character think of Withers?

Answered here but I love picturing my barmaid just shrugging him off as another weirdo who probably doesn’t tip.

Do you remember in which order you recruited your companions? Which companion introduction would have felt the most familiar / like home to your Tav / Character?

Since Lae’zel was her first tadpole buddy and they share the absolute priority of getting rid of the ghaik parasite, Saedra feels especially bonded to her despite her occasional harsh criticism, taken very much in stride. Working in the service industry, Saedra can let a lot of abrasive talk wash off and Lae’zel’s nothing next to some clients she’s had to deal with. At least Lae'zel's comments are well intentioned.

Although Shadowheart’s a little sister and Astarion… (not thinking about that), Lae’zel has Saedra’s total trust, loyalty and affection.

Fanfiction writer ask game: 1,12,15,29,40

(Sorry couldn’t choose 🙈. Feel free to answer all of them. Those are some fun questions.)

1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?

My first ever fic is actually still online! It was posted in 2004, when I was 12. It's extremely bad! I took a break for a couple of years after that, but I'd been writing pretty consistently ever since.

12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?

I don't know that I have a favorite character overall to write for (I write in a lot of different fandoms!) but I definitely gravitate toward certain POVs, so I guess those are my faves. I have had moments of particularly appreciate the headspace offered by Ian Murray and Nate Carter, my Steggy kid OC from things left behind - they're just very calming presences to channel.

15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names?

Haha, lots of different ways! If they're just a one-off character I'll often do name generator things or invest less time in picking the names, although occasionally I'll pick a person from my life to name them after. For longer-term OCs, I'll usually start by pulling up a list of popular names from the year they were born or the culture they're from and seeing if anything sparks. Once or twice I've renamed an OC during drafting because the name stopped feeling right.

(The real answer to this, as with so much else, is mostly, "idk, vibes?" 😅)

29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?

I've mostly settled into thinking that they all reached or will reach the people they were meant to, but if I had to pick, probably But a Walking Shadow, the sequel to my Steggy fic Woman Borne, maybe because there seemed to be a drop off of investment between them.

40) Do people know you write fanfiction?

I'm absolutely free with that info with online people. With people I only know irl, it's far more limited. My family is aware but I don't talk about it with them a ton because they don't necessarily get it. I've told my therapist about it (we've talked a lot about how my mental health stuff is impacting my writing and fan life) and in the past I've told a few friends in high school, a couple of friends in college, and one friend/coworker currently - almost all of the friends/peers that I've told are people I knew or strongly suspected were fic readers or writers themselves 😁

⌛ How long does it take you to write a fic, or a chapter?

So obviously things like real life and writer's block and getting distracted by research have a tendency to slow me down, but just including active writing time... I'd say it usually takes me 1-2 hours to make an outline of a chapter depending on how long it is, and then maybe another 1-2 hours to bulk it up, make it descriptive, and add actual conversations instead of just snippets of dialogue, and another hour for a final read-through to edit and post.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

Humor. I try to incorporate some amount of humor into everything I write. Redemption, anything where one character fucks up and has to apologize/repent in some way. I also love when characters show vulnerability and non-sexual intimacy 🥰

alex hirsch truly is like. the guy ever. he created one of if not the most renowned and successful disney tva shows. he clowns on said network. he won his high school’s bird calling contest. he hates trump and is always advocating for people to vote. also prank calls republican/maga hotlines and was on the washington post for such. he voices half the cast of his own show and does a deranged mickey mouse voice he uses for like two separate shows. he owns a giant taxidermy buffalo. he and his sister were on an international improv team in high school. disney censored practically all queer themes in his show and now he has a nyt best seller (and created the website plus recent interviews ect ect) that imply there was something going on between that fuck ass triangle and ford. a straight man creating good old man yaoi. creates the craziest rabbit holes to send the fandom down probably primarily fueled by adhd and coffee. he probably has his flannel sewn to his body atp and has thousands of sticky hands on the wall in his house. i could go on but he’s just truly such a interesting guy
