the big five
neuroticism
anxiety score: 6 - low
the "fight-or-flight" system of the brain of anxious individuals is too easily and too often engaged. therefore, people who are high in anxiety often feel like something dangerous is about to happen. they may be afraid of specific situations or be just generally fearful. they feel tense, jittery, and nervous. persons low in anxiety are generally calm and fearless.
anger score: 9 - low
persons who score high in anger feel enraged when things do not go their way. they are sensitive about being treated fairly and feel resentful and bitter when they feel they are being cheated. this scale measures the tendency to feel angry; whether or not the person expresses annoyance and hostility depends on the individual's level on agreeableness. low scorers do not get angry often or easily.
depression score: 9 - low
this scale measures the tendency to feel sad, dejected, and discouraged. high scorers lack energy and have difficulty initiating activities. low scorers tend to be free from these depressive feelings.
self-consciousness score: 11 - low
self-conscious individuals are sensitive about what others think of them. their concern about rejection and ridicule cause them to feel shy and uncomfortable around others. they are easily embarrassed and often feel ashamed. their fears that others will criticize or make fun of them are exaggerated and unrealistic, but their awkwardness and discomfort may make these fears a self-fulfilling prophecy. low scorers, in contrast, do not suffer from the mistaken impression that everyone is watching and judging them. they do not feel nervous in social situations.
immoderation score: 7 - low
immoderate individuals feel strong cravings and urges that they have have difficulty resisting. they tend to be oriented toward short-term pleasures and rewards rather than long- term consequences. low scorers do not experience strong, irresistible cravings and consequently do not find themselves tempted to overindulge.
vulnerability score: 5 - low
high scorers on vulnerability experience panic, confusion, and helplessness when under pressure or stress. low scorers feel more poised, confident, and clear-thinking when stressed.
extraversion
friendliness score: 10 - low
friendly people genuinely like other people and openly demonstrate positive feelings toward others. they make friends quickly and it is easy for them to form close, intimate relationships. low scorers on friendliness are not necessarily cold and hostile, but they do not reach out to others and are perceived as distant and reserved.
gregariousness score: 14 - high
gregarious people find the company of others pleasantly stimulating and rewarding. they enjoy the excitement of crowds. low scorers tend to feel overwhelmed by, and therefore actively avoid, large crowds. they do not necessarily dislike being with people sometimes, but their need for privacy and time to themselves is much greater than for individuals who score high on this scale.
assertiveness score: 19 - high
high scorers assertiveness like to speak out, take charge, and direct the activities of others. they tend to be leaders in groups. low scorers tend not to talk much and let others control the activities of groups.
activity Level score: 11 - low
active individuals lead fast-paced, busy lives. they move about quickly, energetically, and vigorously, and they are involved in many activities. people who score low on this scale follow a slower and more leisurely, relaxed pace.
excitement-seeking score: 15 - high
high scorers on this scale are easily bored without high levels of stimulation. they love bright lights and hustle and bustle. they are likely to take risks and seek thrills. low scorers are overwhelmed by noise and commotion and are adverse to thrill-seeking.
cheerfulness score: 10 - low
this scale measures positive mood and feelings, not negative emotions (which are a part of the neuroticism domain). persons who score high on this scale typically experience a range of positive feelings, including happiness, enthusiasm, optimism, and joy. low scorers are not as prone to such energetic, high spirits.
openness to experience
imagination score: 10 - low
to imaginative individuals, the real world is often too plain and ordinary. high scorers on this scale use fantasy as a way of creating a richer, more interesting world. low scorers are on this scale are more oriented to facts than fantasy.
artistic interests score: 20 - high
high scorers on this scale love beauty, both in art and in nature. they become easily involved and absorbed in artistic and natural events. they are not necessarily artistically trained nor talented, although many will be. the defining features of this scale are interest in, and appreciation of natural and artificial beauty. low scorers lack aesthetic sensitivity and interest in the arts.
emotionality score: 10 - low
persons high on emotionality have good access to and awareness of their own feelings. low scorers are less aware of their feelings and tend not to express their emotions openly.
adventurousness score: 13 - high
high scorers on adventurousness are eager to try new activities, travel to foreign lands, and experience different things. they find familiarity and routine boring, and will take a new route home just because it is different. low scorers tend to feel uncomfortable with change and prefer familiar routines.
intellect score: 19 - high
intellect and artistic interests are the two most important, central aspects of openness to experience. high scorers on intellect love to play with ideas. they are open-minded to new and unusual ideas, and like to debate intellectual issues. they enjoy riddles, puzzles, and brain teasers. low scorers on Intellect prefer dealing with either people or things rather than ideas. they regard intellectual exercises as a waste of time. Intellect should not be equated with intelligence. Intellect is an intellectual style, not an intellectual ability, although high scorers on Intellect score slightly higher than low-Intellect individuals on standardized intelligence tests.
liberalism score: 15 - high
psychological liberalism refers to a readiness to challenge authority, convention, and traditional values. in its most extreme form, psychological liberalism can even represent outright hostility toward rules, sympathy for law-breakers, and love of ambiguity, chaos, and disorder. psychological conservatives prefer the security and stability brought by conformity to tradition. psychological liberalism and conservatism are not identical to political affiliation, but certainly incline individuals toward certain political parties.
agreeableness
trust score: 5 - low
a person with high trust assumes that most people are fair, honest, and have good intentions. persons low in trust see others as selfish, devious, and potentially dangerous.
morality score: 5 - low
high scorers on this scale see no need for pretense or manipulation when dealing with others and are therefore candid, frank, and sincere. low scorers believe that a certain amount of deception in social relationships is necessary. people find it relatively easy to relate to the straightforward high-scorers on this scale. they generally find it more difficult to relate to the unstraightforward low-scorers on this scale. it should be made clear that low scorers are not unprincipled or immoral; they are simply more guarded and less willing to openly reveal the whole truth.
altruism score: 7 - low
altruistic people find helping other people genuinely rewarding. consequently, they are generally willing to assist those who are in need. altruistic people find that doing things for others is a form of self-fulfillment rather than self-sacrifice. low scorers on this scale do not particularly like helping those in need. requests for help feel like an imposition rather than an opportunity for self-fulfillment.
cooperation score: 9 - low
individuals who score high on this scale dislike confrontations. they are perfectly willing to compromise or to deny their own needs in order to get along with others. those who score low on this scale are more likely to intimidate others to get their way.
modesty score: 6 - low
high scorers on this scale do not like to claim that they are better than other people. in some cases this attitude may derive from low self-confidence or self-esteem. nonetheless, some people with high self-esteem find immodesty unseemly. those who are willing to describe themselves as superior tend to be seen as disagreeably arrogant by other people.
sympathy score: 6 - low
people who score high on this scale are tenderhearted and compassionate. they feel the pain of others vicariously and are easily moved to pity. low scorers are not affected strongly by human suffering. they pride themselves on making objective judgments based on reason. they are more concerned with truth and impartial justice than with mercy.
conscientiousness
self-efficacy score: 20 - high

orderliness score: 20 - high
persons with high scores on orderliness are well-organized. they like to live according to routines and schedules. they keep lists and make plans. low scorers tend to be disorganized and scattered.
dutifulness score: 10 - low
this scale reflects the strength of a person's sense of duty and obligation. those who score high on this scale have a strong sense of moral obligation. low scorers find contracts, rules, and regulations overly confining. they are likely to be seen as unreliable or even irresponsible.
achievement-striving score: 16 - high
individuals who score high on this scale strive hard to achieve excellence. their drive to be recognized as successful keeps them on track toward their lofty goals. they often have a strong sense of direction in life, but extremely high scores may be too single-minded and obsessed with their work. low scorers are content to get by with a minimal amount of work, and might be seen by others as lazy.
self-discipline score: 19 - high
self-discipline - what many people call will-power - refers to the ability to persist at difficult or unpleasant tasks until they are completed. people who possess high self-discipline are able to overcome reluctance to begin tasks and stay on track despite distractions. those with low self-discipline procrastinate and show poor follow-through, often failing to complete tasks-even tasks they want very much to complete.
cautiousness score: 20 - high
cautiousness describes the disposition to think through possibilities before acting. high scorers on the cautiousness scale take their time when making decisions. low scorers often say or do first thing that comes to mind without deliberating alternatives and the probable consequences of those alternatives.

Another thing I’ve noticed about Wittebane fans is that they would really rather speculate on an unseen dynamic and how codependent it was, or on Belos having religious trauma or being a socially awkward child (despite this conflicting with him being a confident, silver-tongued politician) over like. Discussing Belos’ character as he actually is onscreen.
And onscreen Belos is about Christian colonialism, he IS the religious trauma. He’s the white saviorism, the racism, the genocide, the arrogant delusions of Puritans. These are actually onscreen, and darker and deeper than like, the Wittebanes being Cain and Abel or Saturn devouring his son because what are you actually discussing here that’s topical?
But fans don’t want to talk about that, they don’t want to talk about what makes Belos his own character and what makes his writing work. They want to make Belos and Caleb into a racist, less interesting version of the Nocedas, Clawthorne sisters, Collector, etc. And when Belos doesn’t measure up to these standards because he’s a square peg being put through a round hole, fans get angry at the writers. It’s alienating to those who want to discuss Belos, the actual Belos.
And I think it boils down to fans being discomforted by topics such as colonialism and genocide, and facing just how intertwined Belos is with depicting it on a large and personal scale; He isn’t even a metaphor at this rate, but a literal example of a Christian white man from a 1600s American colony. These subjects are not something fans can romanticize, so they focus on the dynamic with his brother, on being codependent or tortured or suffering from religious trauma, etc.
It’s very faux-deep, it’s pretentious in a Dark Academia way, Cannibalism as a metaphor for love. It reminds me of fans who claim to love Dark Fics and can handle dark topics, but then implode when you ask them to discuss critical race theory. They think they’re being subversive and even punk but it’s just white guys in the end. It thinks itself deeper just for being ‘darker’ but it’s not even that dark compared to other things, it’s just edgy. King and Steve’s conversation as a stand-in for Dana’s ruminations on God are genuinely deeper than every Cain-Abel Wittebane fic.
There’s a Vtuber who just did an Owl House marathon and while she didn’t pick up on a lot, the discussion on Belos by fans who are explaining it to her is so refreshing, because there’s no mention of Caleb! There’s no mention of Belos being repressed or feeling abandoned. It’s all about how he actually is onscreen and is presented and what he does onscreen. It’s about the delusions and evil of those who practice Puritan ideology. And the actions that have far more impact than killing his brother.
And it makes me think, this is another reason why we don’t see Caleb; Because the writers knew fans would use him as a distraction from the actual things they’re discussing and satirizing through Belos. They would use him as a distraction from the true motives, the banality of evil, as Belos does; And Belos himself doesn’t even do it that much, he’s upfront about how he thinks witches are inherently evil and need to be killed in the name of God so even he is avoiding factoring Caleb into the discussion! Alas, the writers underestimate just how far fandom will go when they get even a scent of a possible white guy.
Can we talk about the Wittebanes as they actually are instead of retreading other characters’ old ground? The tragedy of the Wittebanes isn’t about some lonely orphan just wanting to be accepted by his community, being unable to handle the thought of his brother leaving, and not knowing any better because that’s just how things were back then; It’s about seeing your kid brother embrace the alt-right pipeline because white supremacy makes him feel special, and no matter how many years you spend trying to change his mind, he eventually, finally turns on you too.

Beginner's Guide to Batman (and Batman-related) Media
(based on my knowledge and the things I enjoy)
Live action Batman movies are very hit or miss. Most of them are fairly middling, but the Dark Knight Trilogy is generally pretty bad. Poor Bruce characterization, white-washing, inaccurate representations of Gotham, etc. I have several thousand words written on that trilogy, and many more on live action movies in general (all of which are accessible thru my pinned post). The Batman (2022) is pretty widely regarded as being good and accurate. It has a much more emo depiction of Bruce. A major pet peeve of mine is that I, personally, don't think it's a very good Riddler, but everything else is good.
As for shows, those are generally less accurate but more enjoyable. Gotham is not technically canon I don't think but it has better aesthetics, canon accuracy, and character design than every live action movie imo. It starts with Bruce seeing his parents' murder and goes up until he first decides to become Batman. Gotham Knights is a much more AU-style show, detailing the death of Bruce and how his adopted son (invented for the show) handles it. It also has Stephanie, Harper and Cullen Row, and Duela Dent, plus great queer rep. Heavily recommended for people who want to know more about general character personalities or who enjoy AUs. Titans has Dick, Jason, and Tim, and while I personally don't think that they did well with the characterization of the other Titans, the Robins are well-done. If you want a good idea of Dick right after he became Nightwing, you want to see Jason as Robin, or you like Tim pre-Robin, this is the show for you.
As for animated shows, the usually widely loved ones are Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman: The Animated Series. B:TAS is largely accurate to the comics at that time, though it plays a little fast and loose with the Robins (goes straight from Dick to Tim). Plus, it's the first appearance of Harley Quinn! Additionally, I enjoy The Batman (2005), though it plays with the timeline a little and targets a younger audience. Batman Beyond is amazing if you want to get into the future of Batman/Terry McGinnis universe. The accompanying movie, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker covers Tim becoming Joker Jr.
Speaking of animated movies, there are a Lot. Standouts include the Batman Unlimited movies, which are some of the only ones to include Tim. They're very futuristic, so if you enjoy AUs or the science side of Batman, these are the ones. There are a lot of AU style ones, like Gotham by Gaslight (which I personally really love but don't think is anything particularly special outside of being interesting for characters), The Doom That Came to Gotham, and Batman Ninja. Batman Ninja isn't one of my favorites, but it is very good and has general good characterization. If you want to know more about how Barbara became Oracle but you don't want to read one of the most sexist comics ever, watching the Batman: The Killing Joke movie is a good way to do it. It frames the movie from Barbara's perspective and focuses on her story. If you want to know more about Damian, Son of Batman and Batman vs Robin are good. They detail him becoming Robin and his brush with the Court of Owls. Batman: Under the Red Hood is absolutely necessary viewing for anyone who likes Jason, as it details him coming back to life and becoming the Red Hood (along with having one of the all-time most depressing lines in-context ever).
When it comes to media that doesn't have Batman in it but is Batman-affiliated, Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn is a really good post-Joker pre-Ivy look at Harley, and it has Helena Bertinelli (Huntress), Dinah Lance (Black Canary), Detective Renee Montoya, and an AU-ized Cassandra Cain. The show Young Justice, particularly the first season, is a really good look at Robin!Dick in non-Bat teams, as is the animated Teen Titans. Both take slightly different routes when it comes to his personality, but both are equally good (especially if most of what you know about Robin!Dick is "holy dental hygiene, Batman!" or his vague backstory). They also both provide introductions into other team families, particularly Young Justice, so if you've just gotten into DC via Batman and want to know more about other characters, YJ is the way to go.
My personal idea of best piece of media for any character:
Bruce Wayne
Pre-Batman - Gotham
Batman: The Animated Series
Alfred Pennyworth
Batman: The Animated Series
Barbara Gordon
Batman: The Animated Series and The Killing Joke
Kate Kane
Batman: Bad Blood
Dick Grayson
As Robin - Young Justice
As Nightwing - the Son of Batman/Batman vs Robin/Batman: Bad Blood trilogy
Jason Todd
As Robin - Titans
As the Red Hood - Batman: Under the Red Hood
Tim Drake
As Robin - Batman: The Animated Series
As Red Robin - Batman Unlimited: Monster Mayhem/Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts
Stephanie Brown
Gotham Knights
Damian Wayne
Son of Batman/Batman vs Robin
Feel free to send an ask about a specific movie or show (or if you want a detailed list of everything a specific character has ever appeared in!) - I'm currently watching every Batman movie in existence and writing reviews literally so I can provide better recommendations to people (on part 41 rn). I will gladly provide more details about any movie or show. Also if you want to know more about specific media or what media a specific character has appeared in that is Bat-affiliated but is not a Bat, I probably have info! Anyone who's ever been a Titan, most Supers, most of the JLA, etc.
I can do another of these for comic recommendations if anyone wants bc I Do have opinions, I've just had some folks ask questions about specifically non-comic media recently!

Given Cass's dominance on the Batfam poll, do you have any comic recs centered on her? I mostly know her relationship with Tim from his Robin run, and I've been meaning to read Batgirls (2022) but wanted to see if you had other recs :)
Her Batgirl run (the series from 2000) is REALLY good. Very cartoony art, which not everyone might love, but you definitely learn quickly why Babs and Cass have done so well in this tournament. After issue 20, you also start learning why Steph and Cass are doing so well! (And there are several crossovers with Robin that start the delight that is Tim and Cass, too!)
Her first appearances, in No Man's Land, are also great. Get the collected volumes. It's a giant crossover and trying to read the individual series might drive you crazy. She shows up halfway through Volume 3, in Batman 567, which is the start of "Mark of Cain." It ... reads like you missed her first appearance, but you haven't. Other than crossover confusion, and a lot of stories that don't feature Cass, it's a really good intro to the character.
Even if you don't read the rest of No Man's Land, Batman 569, "I Cover The Waterfront", is ESSENTIAL Cass. So so good!
The audiobook of No Man's Land is available online, and has some things that never actually made it onto the comics page. (Like Babs figuring out Cass' name!) It was written by one of the crossover's writers. (Greg Rucka, who is great!) I can't listen to most audiobooks, but I've heard good things!
She's not in Red Robin a lot (only issues 17 and 25), but they ARE very good, as well.
Batman: Gotham Knights 35-36 and 45-49 are some WONDERFUL ensemble issues where you get to see a variety of Bat-characters hanging out together. Cass is there and VERY funny. (The first 50 issues of Gotham Knights are good, but it takes a while for it to realize that it wants to about characters interacting, rather than solo adventures. And Cass only shows up in some of them.)
I've heard good things about Batman: Gates Of Gotham's depiction of Cass. (This is right before the reboot, and has Cass and Damian's only preboot interaction. As well as her main non-Red Robin appearances as Black Bat.)
I can offer no help for the last dozen years of comics. I haven't read since the reboot ... actually, I HAVE looked at some of the most recent Birds of Prey series! The Cass there is well done, but she's not hanging out with her FAMILY. Still, if you want modern Cass, that's a solid choice.
-
Cass is a wonderful character who means a lot to me. I love her messy relationships with Babs and Bruce. I love the way she slowly learns that friendship is valuable. I love how she SLOOOOOWLY learns to value being a person, rather than a weapon.
I LOVE how the Batgirl writers actually depict her as disabled - her internal narration is one of the more unique ones I've seen. She's almost entirely in the moment, rarely thinks about the future or anything outside of her immediate context. Even in her head, her use of words is minimal. Her priorities are unique, and the ways she makes mistakes are FASCINATING. Just a brilliant and original character.

So I was rewatching Steven universe and I really liked to Concept of losing color to turning monochromatic, so- what if the clown!child!reader got told (by most likely Pomni since she probably doesn't know that the reader is an actual child and probably told em in the worst way possible 🥲) that Kaufmo abstracted and the little fella just starts going colorless day by day, not honking anymore because they're grieving in their own way, perhaps the reader starts getting meaner, pulling pranks that are kind of akin to Jax's but they're doing em in a way so others understand the reader's feelings. That they know what happened now, that they feel like Pomni was just Caine's way of replacing Kaufmo since he abstracted.
And now it's not just losing color, they stop attending meals as often, they start changing and for the worst. As time passes the pain starts to dull away, but it's always there. The reader regains some color, but somehow now they look,, older? More tired? It's hard to tell, they start socializing again, but it's not the same, it will never be the same again.
Sorry I got too silly with this one ISPHWIOS 😔
YES YES HES ANGST CONTINUATION RAHH
(Don’t mind the gif it thought it was funny 💀)
(WARNINGS - ANGST, NO READER, BITTER ENDING, ONCE AGAIN KINDA SHORT, MILD BODY HORROR, MILD DEPICTION OF DEPRESSION)
No one ever told you.
They never told you where Kaufmo went,
Where the one you loved like a brother had went.
You spent most of your days in your room, you weren’t allowed in Kaufmo’s room at all.
They even crossed out his face on the door.
Nobody has seen you in quite some time… but the time you did come form your room, they all noticed how discolored your once bright colors were.
“Hey, [Y/N]? Are you okay?” Jax wearily asked, Behr out of character for him; but he could notice the heavy bags under your eyes.
You could only give a slight nod in response.
Ragatha stepped in, trying to cheer you up, “we’re playing your favorite today, capture the Gloinks!” Only to be met without a reaction from you.
“Could we at least get a little honk..?” She asked; but when you squeezed your nose a pathetic, deflated squeak only left it.
“You never told me where Kaufmo went, is he okay?”
You were met with silence.
It was always silence.
You were fed up with it.
Trudging away from the group with your arms tucked to you, Caine explained what felt like the thousandth time of how to play capture the Gloinks.
That’s when Pomni came up to you, tapping you wearily. “Hey.. I heard you wanted to know what happened to Kaufmo..?” She was whispering, not that she’d need to. You were decently far away from the rest of the group.
“Well.. when I got here he… Ragatha said something happened to him called abstraction.”
A wave of horror washed over you.
You had to excuse yourself from everyone, scrambling to your room.
This couldn’t be real, he couldn’t be gone, really.
It had to just be some prank they were pulling on you for all the ones you’ve done on them.
You could feel a buzzing sensation under your skin, it felt like it was trying to eat away at your inner layers.
It wanted to get out. It had to get out.
The feeling would crawl all the way up to your chin, making you feel ill. It was only when you looked down at your hands when you saw the eyes staring back at you while eating away at your skin. It just kept eating. Even when your tried to tear it from yourself it only made it worse. This was your fate.
Destined to the same as Kaufmo. Once to be with him again. Would he recognize you?
Would you recognize him?
The thoughts iver flowed in your mind as the buzzing feeling finally consumed you, leaving no trace of the person you once were.
The once fun, loving prankster of all of them.
Reduced to nothing but a carving agony that would tear you apart gradually.
It was your time.
Goodnight, sweet [Y/N].

I don’t think I’ve actually listed out character and their bird species before, but here it is!
Also, the best way to check the birds out is using EBird. just search the names/scientific name and high-quality pictures of these birds as well as their description, vocalizations, and range will all show up!
Characters and their Birds:
(Also, sorry in advance for the weird formatting, i couldn’t get it to work)
The Bats:
Alfred- Tawny Owl (Strix aluco)
This plays into how Alfred is able to just… Appear and can hear almost everything going on. Also, tawny owls are common found in europe, and alfed is british 😔
Bruce- Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja)
Harpy eagles are some of the biggest eagles in the world, feeding primarily on primapes and slothes. Now, take into account Bruce’s bulk… Our man is huge.
Damian- Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja)
Within the League, power is everything, so to be born such a “powerful” raptor would’ve been seen as a good sign, but after Damian “goes soft (stopped killing ppl)” he’s seen as “weak”, or a “waste of immense power”, especially in Ra’s’s eyes.
Duke- Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura)
Doves in general are seen as peacekeepers and pacifists in general (it might be sacrilegious, but I think Jesus Christ and Mary in this au would have been depicted as doves (aphrodite too), which would probably endear them to those who believe in the bible- I’m also an atheist, and this is just speculation— pls don’t kill me :,]) which leads a lot of people to underestimate Duke and drop their guards around him. He’s a nice person in general, but I think he’d use this to his advantage when undercover as Duke Thomas: Ditzy 2nd Wayne chick.
Also, since doves are the symbol of peace, he also acts as the promary peacekeeper and buffer between Damian and Tim, who’d constantly get into fights, especially once Tim becomes Shadow.
Cass- Barn Owl (Tyto alba)
Barn owls, since they have disk-shaped heads and displaced ears, have the best hearing of all owls. I think that was something David Cain took into account when he, uh, had Lady Shiva have his kid. And since she’s an owl, she’s perfect assassin material, and David Cain alongside Shiva trained Cass until she was perfectly silent both in the air and on land.
She also runs warm- courtesy of being an owl, and so her siblings (especially Jason and Dick) and Steph would huddle under her wings when watching movies and nesting, but if the arguments ever gets too rowdy, Cass would go to either Bruce, Damian, Duke, or Tim.
Tim- Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus)
Being a peregrine falcon means he is well respected within the elites in gotham. His natural flight speed is also something he’s proud of, and as Shadow, Tim is capable of darting in and out of the fray and knock out criminals before they eve know he’s coming. His speed and skills are further honed later on, and he turns into a truly formidable oppendent.
Steph- Violet- backed Starling (Cinnyricinclus leucogaster)
While the males are really purple and flashy, the females are more neutral in coloration 😔 Stepha dyes her feathers while vigilante-ing, so ppl assume she’s a dude.
She and Duke looked after Jason while he was on the streets, and they would keep an eye out and make sure he doesn’t get into any trouble.
Jason- Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)
When he was younger, he had duller coloration in his feathers. But as he grew older, more and more people looked at him weirdly when he was out on the streets- his mom having to shield him from their leers. Later on, he learns that the people staring had less-than-pure intent, and that incentivizes him to hind away his wings.
When Batman and Anubis go off their rockers in grief, helps protect who he can from their indiscriminate anger, and evenually, he gets dragged into the flock after getting caught inbetween two gangs and got injured.
Barbara- American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos)
She was originally going to be a baltimore oriole, but making barbara wouldn’t make sense. Then I debated making her an owl for wisdm, but the I remembered Apollo was the god of prophecies- Oracle of Dephi- and Apollo’s sacred bird was a crow (lets ignore how he smited them) so I made barbara a crow to lay homage to her as oracle :3
Plus, crows are hella smart, and I felt like it fit
Dick- Fischer’s Lovebird (Agapornis fischeri)
I could’ve easily took the coward’s way out and just made him a robin, but Dick needed to be colorful and bright, and he needed to be the light that illuminates Gotham’s eternally-gloomy skies. So i went searching for the perfect bird before finding the Fischer’s loverbird. It matches perfectly with the Grayson family colors- red, green, yellow- and so i went with dick as a fischer’s lovebird
Other Characters:
Thomas- Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja) Like father like son!
Martha- Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) She was a beautiful woman, and thomas won her over by trying to catch a fish for her. He failed, ofc, and capsized their boat, but she had fun and decided to marry that silly man. (they’ve tone this story to bruce like… 12 times, but what wouldn’t he give to hear them tell it again)
Selina- Eurasian mgpie (Pica pica) You’ve heard about magpies and how they like shiny things and how they love to take said shiny things… well, here it is! Plus, I just think pica pica is really funny
Gordan- Red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) Red-tailed hwk is THE most american bird, what with their shrieks being used in hollywood in place of actual bad eagle sounds, and Commish Jim Gordan works as a police, so I thought it was funny
Talia- Imperial Eagle (Aquila heliaca) She is an imperial eagle because not only are they eagles, imperial conveys royalty, so i thought it was befitting
Ra’s- Haast’s Eagle (Aquila moorei) Haast’s eagles were huge, and I mean they were larger than harpy eagles with wigspans capable of reaching 8ft. the thing is, these eagles went exticnct partially due to humans sailing and traveling all over the place with rats and stuff being the main reason. i think that would make ra’s al ghul pretty pissed that his aves species was wiped out, or smth like that.
Either way, the Haas’s eagle is really cool and I think you should check them out
Joker- Glistening Green Tanager (Chlorochrysa phoenicotis)
I hope you all know how monstrous this bird is, like it is PEAK joker green, like literally. I got the idea off of a different blog i saw a few days or weeks ago talking about how the joker would be THIS bird, and i cannot agree even more. Also, the joker gnawed and tore his own wings off or the acid he fell into made it so the wings had to be amputated, either way idk and my brain is mush. What I DO know is that losing ones wings is terrible, horrible, and the joker probably gnawed it off himself in a fit of madness and craze directly after being acidified, or something like that
Metas/More Characters (No descriptions cos it’s 1am and I’m TIRED and I have a driving test tmrw):
Lois Lane- Western Kingbird (Tyrannus verticalis)
Clark- No Bird, he’s an alien
Jonathan- Like his mom, a Western Kingbird (Tyrannus verticalis)
Conner- Like his mom, a Purple Martin (Progne subis)
Luthor- Like his son, a purple martin (Progne subis)
Flashes- All of them would probably be a humming bird or a sunbird of some sort, I feel like its pretty self-explanitory. It’s not that being a hummingbird garentees you to be a speedster, it’s more like the speedsters just coincidentally end up as hummingbirds.

Hii moon, I don’t know if you have answered this question before, I literally became obsessed with your AU, but I wanted to know, what inspired you to create your AU? Any media or any movie?
Hello!!! Ahh you’re obsessed with it?? really?? 😭😭 that makes me so happy to be honest. There’s a lot more asks I’m working on rn that give a lot more information, they should be out over the next few days.
Back to the main question..
I constantly felt like there was more stuff that could be done with the creepypasta’s other than shoving them in a mansion and saying, “it’s funny, make it work!”
It was genuinely just me trying to make a creepypasta world that made sense in my head, I didn’t really have much inspiration for the AU itself.
I will say, Ethel Cains album “Preachers Daughter” , helped my ideas involving the “aesthetic” and some character backstories (Toby).
But, for my depictions of characters?
Absolutely, lots of inspiration!
I get inspiration from my favourite movies and true crime cases!!
For example:
You might notice my Slenderman is similar to Penneywise from IT, he feeds off fear and has a cycle.
Jeff The Killer has a similar personality to Patrick Hockstetter (IT) and Alex DeLarge (Clockwork Orange), his killing style is similar to Art The Clown from Terrifier.
Toby Rogers personality is based around Chucky’s (Child’s play) personality! His demeanour is loosely based on Man In The Mask/Scarecrow (The Strangers.)
David Newton is based off Charles Manson. His cult is similar to Heavans Gate (the ascension).

Jax vs Sans. the war of the smiley trashbags.
Could not have asked for a better ask to start this blog.
Jax
“Ooh, violence.”
Jax is a humanoid jackrabbit trapped inside of The Amazing Digital Circus. Throughout the first 2 episodes of the show, he’s portrayed as a sadistic person who appears not to care about harming others (including his friends).
Pros:
Digital Body (can’t ‘die’, immune to almost all types of death inducing methods)
Sadistic Nature (won’t care that much if Sans starts showing weakness)
Cartoon Physics Apply to Him (can teleport/run absurdly fast, stretch limbs, etc.)
Cons:
Arrogant (might give Sans an opening to attack)
Impatient (gave up driving the rig in Candy Carrier Chaos because the horn sucked)
Quick to Anger/Recklessness (doesn’t really think things through, can be rash)
Sans
*Can’t doge forever. Keep attacking.
Sans is a monster sealed underneath Mt. Ebott. Through most of the game, he’s depicted as a smiling, pun-telling, fourth wall breaking funny bone man. However, if you kill everyone in the game, he turns into one of the hardest boss fights in the entire game.
Pros:
Wide Variety of Weaponry (gravity manipulation, bone summoning, gaster blasters, KR, etc.)
Able to Dodge (this is unique in the game, as monsters don’t usually dodge attacks)
Able to Break The Normal Fighting System (attacking you on your turn, not letting you even have your turn)
Cons:
Low Stamina (can only dodge a certain amount of times, grows tired as battle progresses)
Stats (1 HP, 1 ATK)
Lazy (needs a lot of motivation to even start a fight)
Fight Explanation
So the way this fight will go is that we’re gonna assume that both characters are somehow teleported to a giant floating slab in the middle of nowhere, exactly as they are right now. Alright, let’s do this.
FIGHT
“JAX!! WHY DO YOU KEEP PUTTING CENTIPEDES IN MY ROOM!!!”
Ragatha’s screams echoed all through the tent, causing the inhabitants to stir out of their sleep. They didn’t blame Ragatha though, they all knew how much of a jerk Jax is.
“Chillax dollface, they’re not even real. All digital, remember?”
”WELL THEY FEEL REAL TO ME!!”
Ragatha attempted to hurl a sewing needle at Jax’s eye. He dodged it easily, and turned to face Ragatha, eyebrows raised.
“Really, dollface? I thought you knew better than tha-“
Suddenly, a shadow set upon the tent. Before anyone knew what was happening, a giant black hand had grabbed Jax and dragged him through the nearest door. Jax caught a glimpse of a swirling golden tower before being dropped onto a giant, flat, gray landscape.
Groaning, Jax got to his feet.
“Hey, what’s the big idea!?”
After dusting himself off, Jax looked around. He saw nothing but flat gray ground as far as the eye could see. Suddenly, from behind, he heard a voice. A low, menacing voice that shook him to his core.
“don’t you know how to greet a new pal? turn around… and s h a k e m y h a n d.”
Instinctively, Jax spun around and threw a punch. When he withdrew his fist from the air (he seemed to have missed his intended target), he saw a skeleton standing a few inches away with his hand outstretched.
“woahhh there pal, it’s just the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick.”
Jax was seething. First the stupid ragdoll had tried to kill him, and now this skeleton was mocking him. He was sure that this was one of Caine’s tricks, trying to make him “behave better”. Well he wasn’t going to take this, not from that damn AI and certainly not from one of his stupid NPC’s. He drew his fist back again and started trying to hit the skeleton anywhere he could, but no matter where he tried to punch, the skeleton seemed to be a few inches away.
“man, you really like trying to kill people you first meet. reminds me of a friend of mine.”
Sans decided that it was time to see if this rabbit was worth messing around with. Casually, he lifted up his hand and held Jax in place. Jax, stunned at his inability to move, watched as the skeleton’s ‘eyes’ went dark leaving 2 empty eye sockets that seemed to stare into his soul.
*Jax, LV. 19 - 54 ATK 48 DEF
*Seems he can’t be reasoned with…
“huh, LV. 19… wonder how you managed that.”
“What the hell are you on about skeleton, lemme go!” Jax was struggling against the invisible force holding him up. Sans obliged, letting him drop to the ground with a sickening crunch.
“Not like that, dumbass! I meant gently!”
Sans didn’t respond. He noticed the uneasy aura around Jax that he had previously thought was the eerie environment. This rabbit had to be stopped, lest it bring more chaos and destruction to its home.
“let’s just get to the point” Sans said, snapping his fingers
Jax whirled around. He was now in a 2 dimensional white box, facing the skeleton.
“Oh so that’s how you wanna do it huh, funny man?!? Give yourself a smaller space for you to run!?” Jax was fuming. He’d never seen anything like this.
”welp, i guess you know what they say… you don’t carrot all until someone shows that your actions aren’t white as fur.”
“Jeez that was awfu-“ Jax didn’t get a chance to finish because before he knew it, he was being slammed against one of the boxes walls. He quickly bounced back to his feet and lunged at the skeleton, barely missing the bones that shot out of the wall behind him. He charged, pulling a flintlock from behind his ears. He dodged more bones, then punched at the skeleton. As he had expected, the skeleton had dodged out of the way, but now he took aim and fired the flintlock right at the smiling idiot.
Sans still managed to dodge, driving the rabbit further into anger. Suddenly, a dragon skull almost as big as the fudge monster in the candy kingdom appeared and hit him square in the torso. It hurt like hell, but it couldn’t kill Jax.
“Hey stupid! I’m a human, not an NPC like you! You can’t exactly kill me!”
Sans stopped for a second. The rabbit’s words had confused him. Human? But this… thing clearly wasn’t human… right? Before he could ponder this question too much, he saw the bunny take aim again and dodged the bullet. Jax, now going to desperate measures to get one hit on the skeleton, pulled out a minigun he stole from the rig and opened fire on Sans.
Sans dodged all the bullets, but the constant assault was wearing him down. Very early in the battle, he decided to use his pre-special attack. Jax dropped his minigun as he was slammed from wall to wall, but he knew now how to dodge to bones. After hitting all for walls, he had to dodge around a bunch of bones.
”Is that all you got?!?” taunted Jax.
Sans’ smile widened as he stretched the box and sent the rabbit flying down the hall. Jax, not expecting this, was forced to twist his digital body in a way no normal body could to avoid the stream of bones down the hall he now zoomed down. He collided sharply with a wall and had to jump as yet more bones came at him. After that, yet more dragon skulls tried to blast him, forcing him to run screaming in circles. Finally, the blasters stopped, but then the skeleton grabbed him again and started outright pounding him against the walls.
At long last, all was silent. Jax was sprawled on the floor, flat as a pancake, while Sans was nearby, gasping and wheezing after all the effort he had used. Jax peeled himself up off the ground.
Holy shit, that hurt. This is the most brutal NPC that Caine’s ever made, thought Jax. He noticed the skeleton kneeling nearby. “Whassa matta with you bone man? All tuckered out?” Jax grinned malevolently, knowing his victory was within his grasp. Sans got to his feet.
“welp, guess it’s time for my special attack.” he said, grinning at the rabbitoid. Jax prepared himself, expecting bones, dragon skulls, or walls to rush him at any minute. But nothing came.
“So uhhh… wherezit at?” he asked.
Sans grin broadened. “this is my special attack. it’s nothing. and it ain’t gonna be anything either.”
Jax was puzzled. “You mean… you give up? Wow guess i’m better than even I thought.” He reached for one of his guns, but found there were none. No matter, he thought, i’ll just punch this guy into oblivion he stepped forward, and was instantly teleported back.
“nope. can’t attack yet. it’s not your turn.”
Jax narrowed his eyes. “You mean we’ve been fighting on the honor system this whole time?! That’s the stupidest shit i’ve ever heard!” He started running at the skeleton, but kept being teleported back.
Sans stared at him. “yep, common courtesy. i attack you, you attack me, so one so forth. an eye for an eye socket.”
“Quit… With… The… PUNS!!!” Jax yelled trying desperately to get at the skeleton, but no matter what he tried, he couldn’t get near him. This was too much for Jax. He wasn’t used to being unable to reach his goals, and now the ultimate NPC stood before him and he couldn’t kill him. Now laughing like a maniac, Jax started actually clawing at the invisible force driven between him and his adversary. Suddenly, black goop started running out of every orifice in his face. He doubled up, cackling, as the goop consumed him, sprouting multi-colored eyes all over his body. Jax had abstracted.
End of battle
Thoughts
This battle was hard to think about. As Jax technically can’t die, and Sans only dies if you don’t move during his final attack, this was tricky. Like I said, it all boils down to Sans’ final attack. In a battle of wills, who would win? Jax would have had to sit and do nothing for 5 minutes before getting the chance to strike at Sans, and I honestly couldn’t see him doing that (impatient bastard).
SANS WINS!
Do you agree with this? Lemme know in the comments how this would have gone in your mind. I read all comments and am really curious to hear your thoughts! :)

Sooooo i've been meaning to ask you this for the longest time, but... Whatever happened to Eve (or even her/Adam's children) in your AUs?
I think i saw *one* comic of yours in wish she interacts briefly with *both* Adam and Lucifer, so... What's your personal "take" or even headcanons of their whereabouts?
Oooh anon, allow me to go very off-topic for a bit. I'll get to your question.
The adamsapple community, and more specifically the Adam simps, they all seem to impose this kind of... expectancy? for artists and writers to have some defined set of lore regarding Lilith, Eve, Cain, Abel and even Michael too. Don't get me wrong!! I love these characters and I do like seeing what different people make of them! It's just that the way you're asking this question reminds me of that, taking for granted that if you're into Adam/adamsapple, that means you probably have a bunch of intricate backstories for his ex-wives and children.
And I know this is might be a bit disappointing, but I don't actually have that LOL. I don't actually consider myself to be very good at coming up with characters. I have like 5 OCs (total) and that might honestly be a bit generous. In the case of Eve and co., where their characters already have some ground work done (either by the Bible or by the fandom), I have a couple ideas about them, but I'm not actually married to any of them and you'll see me switch back and forth between them for various purposes.
The comic you're talking about was made specifically for the Jealousy prompt of the adamsapple week lolol, therefore, the Eve depicted on that comic was only meant to cause jealousy for that one gag comic. Eve doesn't really exist in my """AU's""" (I don't actually have any AUs besides Prison AU) in any relevant manner. She's probably better described as a plot device or even a character motivation. I like when Eve is depicted as a sweet woman, I like when Eve is depicted as batshit crazy. I'm not set on any one option and I will take and leave them if it serves a purpose for a story or if it's for a funny gag lolol
That being said!! That specific Eve design that I did was made specially for @goshdanghowdy, who requested a sinner!Eve. All I know about this particular Eve is that she died a winner, but then decided to leave Heaven and become a sinner to watch over her children in Hell. I based my design around nature and snakes and the sole characteristic that she's a good mother. But overall, that version of Eve is more goshdanghowdy's than it is mine :)
And just to clarify, I'm not upset or anything that you asked this question, like I said, I just think that this community has developed this expectation that everyone has their own versions of these characters, and I'm just not really one of those. I'm not opposed to ever developing them, though! It's more like, I'll make them when I need them lol
TL; DR: I don't have any set headcanons or takes on Eve, my depiction of her is not set in stone and will vary
#not all my comics are set in the same continuity either tbh#but I don't have like a set list of which comics go together and which ones don't or something like that#if I ever need Eve for a story or narrative purpose that's when I'll define something!#I'm also not much of an AU person myself#prison AU was a special case haha#hazbin hotel#ask

I think the general idea for Batman (and DC/Marvel in general) canon is basically just the multiverse model. Like the mainline comics get respect for being the first one to exist, and of course you get the obnoxious idiots who whinge about how and deviation from the comics is Bad and Wrong, but otherwise the various different shows and movies are all their own seperate canons. Like BTAS Batman has his own canon, with only Dick and Tim as Robins and ending with him passing the Batman identity to Terry, but no one expects that to impact the comics. (Well, beyond massively popular characters from the other canons like Harley Quinn inevitably showing up in comics too.)
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that Batman as a story is big enough and has so many canons that it's really not unusual to be a Batman fan without ever reading the mainline comics.
It's an entry point thing. So take, I don't know, Middle Earth, for example. (Though technically, as broad as that phrasing is, even that isn't accurate because there are other places outside of Middle Earth that are still within the same universe. Don't come at me.)
There's capital C Canon, and that's the original books as penned by J.R.R. Tolkien (though even he dabbled in some metatextual rewriting with the retcon of the Ring between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings but we won't get into THAT right now.) The world of Middle Earth as a whole was created starting in the 1930s as a piece of literature up through J.R.R. Tolkien's death in 1973.
From there, though, it gets trickier. The stories of Middle Earth et al have been transformed and added to in the intervening years. Bakshi created an animated movie in the late 1970s that, because it is told in a different medium, by necessity tells a slightly different story. Is that canon? The live-action trilogies from Peter Jackson in the 2000s and 2010s, those are again different and diverging stories from the books. Are those canon? What about the added materials from Christopher Tolkien, as revised and published from his father's materials by the estate? Are those canon? What about the Amazon Prime television series? The Veggietales movie? They're ALL "Middle Earth" and all likely have functioned as the initial entry point for someone and therefore ARE capital C Canon for someone, but by design or circumstance each displays a different version of events and characterization that will necessarily conflict in small or large ways.
With comic-based canon, it can be even more complicated because Hollywood has a habit of skinning comic properties and dressing up new little blorbos in the names of older comic characters. Even I know the Nolan Batman movies look noooooooooothing like the Silver Age Batman comics and the Birds of Prey Cassandra Cain has no relation at all to any other Canon or canon depiction of her, as far as I'm aware.
So, yes. "Batman as a story is big enough and has so many canons that it's really not unusual to be a Batman fan without ever reading the mainline comics" because defining canon in and of itself is such a HARD and complicated thing to do. And I also understand why folks with a much more simplistic and rigid definition of canon (aka, their own specific, personal entry point to the world and characters) can feel so weird when they encounter someone else with a different definition.
But also I think there's an argument to be made that when the Arbiters Of Official Canon (in this case, DC) have aggressively rebooted and rewritten THEIR OWN CANON so many times without regard for continuity or even inherent internal logic, then there is no absolute authority of Canon or canon and we can all do what we want with the understanding that when you or I or anyone else gripes about "canon" and "characterization" we're speaking only within our own pocket of the bramble.
#I'm not even sure how clear any of that is outside my own head#but I Tried#I need a general ask tag#fandom#fanfic writer problems#fanfic reader problems#batman#batfam

How exactly does hell work as a type of afterlife for the satanist? When I was reading Rev. Cain’s books, I noticed him constantly mentioning hell, but he didn’t really go into detail about the afterlife. I know satanists don’t focus on what comes after because it’s the here and now that matters at the moment, but I personally want to know because the topic fascinates me. What do you think will happen to you and those who walk this path once you all are dead? What will the afterlife in hell be like? Is it something like heaven, where you’re constantly “happy” and do nothing but praise satan, or will it be like earth 2, electric boogaloo??
First thing's first, my interpretation of different religious works and how they depict Hell may be different from someone else's, my interpretation is in no way the "correct" one and you are more than welcome to take this with a grain of salt.
From what I've read, known from my Christian youth, and have come to know through various other means, Hell is very much the eternal party. I don't believe this to mean that everyone is that fake happy that you see when you walk into a church, but it doesn't mean that anyone who is there as one of Lord Satan's disciples is eternally suffering.
Hell, in most religious works, is depicted as having a teir system, the topmost teir being where followers and devils alike spend their afterlife and the subsequent rings below being where thoes who did not make it to Heaven but did not devote themselves to Satan go to face their punishment. That's not to say that everyone who is sent to Hell is immediately sent to torment, they're given an option, they can stand by the God who sent them there, or they can devote themselves to Satan and be spared. I'm sure there's limits to who is given that option, especially when you take severity into account, but I have no authority in trying to impose the idea of where the line is drawn.
As for the idea that all one would do is praise Satan all day, while that would be a good way of spending your time, I don't see that as being required. Satan is the true father of free will, and one of our core tenants is autonomy, and in that, I don't see him willingly forcing people to spend all their time praising him. Praise ultimately comes in many forms, though, so that would also be left up to the individual.
This is a very good question. Thank you for taking the time to ask and being patient with my response.

They're hiding lore in the merch line,,
Now this is a theory for a show I only just started watching and I'm not much of a advertisement person either - but I did notice something suspicious. So I have a few theories about the amazing digital circus like everyone in the circus worked on the game, jax is an npc, ragatha is going to die in the last three episodes, etc you get it- But the biggest thing is there is something off about all the character but more suspiciously Jax. Jax for some reason is labelled as "Deserves to be in the circus the most" whatever the hell that means - and his suspicious reaction to a funeral for Kaufmo.
And I didn't ponder on these series until the glitch digital circus song posted 13 minutes ago as of right now. Look at the pin collection at 2:25. It's everyone's rooms. We see Zooble colorful room with a box labelled "zoobles" probably for their exchangeable limbs, Ragatha has a toy bin in her room because her design is clearly meant to be Raggedy Anne, Gangle has a weird red master bedroom, and we even see Kinger's pillow fort - weird that he lives in that but whatever.
But Jax.
Jax is instead in front of his bedroom door and without a tag behind his name to proudly display it also like all the others, it's been ripped in half. In fact it his name looks like it's been knocked over. And the background depicting his bedroom door is actually torn and ripped like someone is tearing away at it.
The description of the pin on the website reads "Jax pin just lounging around watching funny things happen to people."
And while this could all mean nothing - as we saw in the pilot(where jax rips up the sign that says "SPARE" and in episode two where he is upset at the lack of disaster - Jax tends to lean more towards violence and destruction adventures/video games. But regardless - it's still a mystery as to what the inside of Jax's room looks like. The standing theory is he locks his door and while he has keys to everyone's room it's possible he has a key to his own room and just locks his door from the outside to keep people away. But that just further supplies the biggest question of all; "What is Jax hiding?" It's possible in the Jax episode we get to see what his room looks like - my theory is Jax's episode is actually the minimum wage 9 to 5 episode because it'd be funny.
Anyway I just find it weird - Jax seems to be the attention grabber of practically ever audience member, I don't know if there is an answer to why he does the things he does but we'll see with time. this is just a fun thing I personally noticed.
Edit: YouTube has been recommending me Jax as npc theories(i don't wanna be like "oh I came up with that theory first" because i dont really give a sh*t) but there has been multiple signs to Jax being an npc to discuss. For example in the pilot he is the first character to drop the fact that npcs exist in this game, he's the only character to put the idea of 'being here for years' into the circus members heads and Pomni's head too, he knows that Kinger supposedly has been here the longest, he has keys to everyone's room, he gets excited over digital food. Now a lot to unpack here but the biggest thing is how does Jax know how long they've been in the circus? Also tying into the question - how does Jax know how long Kinger 'supposedly' has been here?
In the second episode there isn't much clear of a sign he is an npc other than his suspicious reaction to Kaufmo's funeral, his ability to steal the key from Ragatha without being seen, AND CAINE ACTUALLY IMPLYING THERE'S AN NPC IN OUR MIDST. He heavily alludes to the fact that if he were to confuse a human with an NPC he doesn't know what that'll do to the programming of the world - much less how that'll change how things run in the circus. But if Jax were an NPC would Caine have not caught him as he entered through the portal? Unless Jax was from an adventure that took place within the circus - and we know very well that can happen according to "Capture the Gloinks" in episode one.
But also if Jax were an NPC why do the circus members not expose him and have him deleted? Well - according to Jax. Kinger has been here the longest - then in the second episode it was confirmed Ragatha has been here the second-longest. So really only those two could possibly know the truth. So that means Jax will never get turned in. Kinger is too far gone to even remember if Jax is a human or not and I doubt he'd care anyway. Ragatha as we see in episode 2 - likes the npcs. She even plays along with their LARPing and is excited to be friends with the candy princess. If she knows what Jax truly is - despite his constant pranks on her, she could be well aware he's just doing what he is programmed to do/be. A trickster and an obstacle and despite how crazy he's making her she's willing to roleplay along with an NPCs antics.
The pin idea - since his walls are ripped apart to show an image leaking into the void- as well implies that Jax isn't a real member of the circus and is instead a piece of AI carefully built from the void, something Caine openly admits to still be working on in the pilot episode.
A lot to think about - I would genuinely be surprised if we find out Jax isn't an NPC because this theory is just too convincing at this point.

Just read the newest chapter and I desperately need to tell you how amazing your writing is. I can’t quite explain the feelings that Aegon gave me in this chapter. I genuinely felt afraid as if I was in Amara’s place, like he seems so sinister and I don’t know if I genuinely just wanted to think of him as like a fun guy who ‘loves’ her so I ignored his red flags but this chapter has struck me. Your writing is so entrancing and each character is fleshed out so beautifully. I loved the part where Rhaenyra and Alicent met and I also loved how you wrote about Alicent’s marriage to Viserys and Rhaenyra’s feelings about this, because it’s also how I felt when I watched the show and I think many people sometimes choose to interpret it differently. The last part with Aegon and Amara actually made me hold my breath the whole way through. Like I cant explain it but your writing is so amazing there’s so much tension and you can feel each characters emotions so deeply. Aegon actually terrified me towards the end and it reminded me of earlier on in the previous chapters where he got annoyed with Amara when he realised what she was doing when he opened up to her. The way he was treating Jaehaera was so cute and then my jaw literally dropped when he was talking to Amara about how he was plotting on her on his injury bed like wow… You’re a wonderful writer and I can’t wait for the next chapter. <3
Thank you so much! I really, really love writing dark characters (no, really) so it felt like homecoming letting him finally lean into it. With a fantasy fic, there's more pressure for me than with a modern AU to deal with plot over characterisation, so sometimes I want to go full dark and just dive into the psyche, but then it's like urgh I gotta handle the politics, hang on -
I think Aegon definitely wants to be the fun guy, and is finding it difficult to face the fact that he can no longer be that same guy he was. He's been through a war, was incapacitated, still has scars, is the king etc etc. Just like Amara can no longer be "just a jester." It's like the sprouting of wisdom teeth - it's happening, and there will never be a time before you knew what it felt like to have them sprout. They both have to deal with it. I love that he Stockholmed you into wanting to believe he's lighthearted though bc this plot twist must have hit.
Writing Aegon is so.....URGH. Because he's such a fucked up character in canon no matter how you look at it, but I prefer him that way. I can't read depictions of him where he's whitewashed because it doesn't hit, but sometimes I can feel myself wanting to whitewash his edges a bit just to keep some warmth in the story (a bit of levity here and there ya know). But I dropped all that and leaned into the aggression of his wants and desires (he wants the throne, he wants his mother to love him, he wants his brother's undying allegiance, he wants Rhaenyra to bend the knee and never rise again) and realised, hey, if he's as intense with them everywhere else, he's definitely wanted Amara the same way but decided to "pretend" otherwise because he liked her personality more than he's ever liked his own. In all honesty he's probably jealous deep down of how loved she is in her family and wants a slice of the pie by being the object of her love ("sucking on the back of her leg to stay warm" ethel cain vibes).
And ARGH Rhaenyra...so happy with how she's turning out :") I wondered about show!Nyra and if she ever wondered what it was like for Alicent because I think she was more empathetic than Book!Nyra. And then how any woman feels in this medieval world knowing a male relative has done something as heinous as sexually assault another woman (Alicent with Aegon on the show is a clear example). They can feel however they want about it, but the rules are that they have to then move past it. Rhaenyra moved past it and decided to not blame Alicent for marrying him (at least in my fic) but also couldn't think of her father as a rapist. It's just how it ended up (but she knows deep down that he is).
Thank you so much for this lovely ask and sorry for the yapfest!!

A common trope in an art around Jason makes me feel a bit weird (I mean you do you, fanart is for the artist and all that).
It's where Jason is noticeably scarred up or in group images more scarred up than the other members of the bat family/clan or the other Robins.
And it seems to me that it has more to do with him being the bit of rough rather than anything to do with anything in Canon or Fanon.
Like all of the Robins have injuries that should leave them visibly scarred – Dick got shot in the God damn head for fuck's sake. But Jason (excepting Arkham Knight Jason and White Knight Jason et cetera) got a complete reset on his scars when he came back to life and since then has worn or almost full face headgear (and yes I know the Joker managed to get fucking gas into it and god damn Joker war). But what I mean is he's kept himself pretty well covered and protected compared to other members of the group.
For example you never see Stephanie depicted like that despite the fact that she was cut up and tortured by Black Mask or Cassandra despite the fact that her training by David Cain should have left visible scars.
But you will the one character known for being working class (not the one character who is working class, but is known for it), known for growing up incredibly poor in fact, is now built like a tank, has a common Fanon theory of being a bit of a bruiser, he's frequently depicted with way more scars than his counterparts.
It's got to the point that it is now a trope, and one that seems pretty classist to me. Why would Jason and only Jason be the one with visible scars. Well sure you can go with arguments and say well he's got no legal identity (apart from he kind of does now) but that wouldn't mean he wouldn't care about his appearance, wouldn't need to go undercover, and so forth.
In terms of kinda shitty tropes in fanon I certainly don't think it's the worst, but I do think it's worth thinking about why so many fan artists default to making the poor kid covered in scars.
Just to say, I'm not saying I don't like one or two discrete scars. Personally I like to see a couple of small scars on all of the Bat clan. I think there should be evidence of their work, but I think they should all have evidence of their work. I also don't think one should be noticeably more scarred up than the other. But that's my personal taste there
edited because dragon dictation really did a number on what I was saying this time!

Personal Theory for The Amazing Digital Circus
After watching the teaser and official trailer on repeat for a while, I found myself wondering what exactly are Caine’s motives for putting on different acts and performances. My initial thoughts were “Does he perceive some sort of audience the others can’t?” “Can he perceive us in a 4th wall breaking meta joke sort of way?” or “Was he initially a VR entertainment program that became self aware and was cast aside for being deemed ‘faulty’?”, but after closer observation I’ve come to a different conclusion: that mysterious black ooze shown in various promotional materials may be the “audience” Caine is so desperate to entertain and appease. Building off of this, I feel that if the captive humans have faced any sort of punishment/active harm, it was either from Caine (who is stated to not torment the humans intentionally and overall seeming to be trying to hard to be friendly and possibly not even realizing that they hate and/or fear him) doing so to prevent the “audience” from getting upset or the “audience” directly intervening as a sort of “course correction”, which could be what is depicted during the trailer when Ragatha is apparently attacked by something seemingly made of the same black ooze. While there really isn’t much of anything to support this theory, it’s undeniable that Caine’s drive to entertain and the black ooze (despite its limited/subtle focus thus far) will more then likely have a significant role in the show.
