Shikamaru did his best not to respond to Ino as she called after him, he'd explain to her later once this was all over. Soon he bumped into Choji who gave him a decoy packet of chips, just like they had planned. "Thanks, I owe you one, Choji."

"You know what you're going to tell Ino though? She seems pretty mad," Choji replied, looking at Ino who was catching up with them. Well sticking with the plan, he went off to do more grocery shopping.

"Sorry, Ino," Shikamaru started to apologise, wondering if it would dig his hole further if he told Ino the truth, that it was part of a dare. "Choji really wanted these limited edition chips haha."

Ino had barely finished up her latest shift at the flower shop before she'd even noticed Shikamaru approach. Normally there wouldn't have been any issues with bumping into each other, considering they've been in each other's lives for as long as they've been, but this? This wasn't normal. He kissed her... near her ear. And then he ran away? He. Ran. Away?

"Shikamaru! What the hell was that? If you're gonna kiss me, at least do it right, you coward!" Ino called out after him, obviously irritated. Who did he think he was? A measly kiss near her ear? Did he NOT know she had wanted more than that? That she deserved more? Nope. He wasn't going to get away with it. For now, she'd allow him a little head start, but oh... when she caught him, she'd show him exactly how he was supposed to do it!

Lmao can we have the scene of Shikamaru or Shikaku wanting to cry during shogi because of Kakashi? XD like what did he do? i feel like kakashi is the type to make the most ridiculous and unpredictable moves but then at the end when he wins you find out it was all planned and he was just messing with you 😂😂

Ok but that's 100% Kakashi. Like Shikaku goes into this first game thinking 'oh I can guess his moves just like everyone else' but while Shikaku and Shikamaru are the long game planners (best for coming up with a long term plan with multipule levels) Kakashi is best at coming up with a new plan on the spot with little to no warning.

It's what make's Shikaku and Shikamaru good tactical leaders for the village, and Kakashi a better team leader/in the thick of action leader. You see it best in the war with Shikaku leading the overall plan of the war while Kakashi's in the field changing plans at the drop of a dim to win a fight.

Now mix those two things together in a game of Shogi, and you have a headache for Shikaku and Shikamaru. They win the game sometimes of course, but gdi does Kakashi make it surprisingly hard for them to do so XD

“What a drag, was this your idea Choji? Naruto?’ Shikamaru wondered as he was anonymously dared to kiss Ino, lucky it wasn’t specified where, so his plan was to ‘accidentally' bump into her, kiss her cheek to make sure someone saw him as proof, and then be on his way.

Spotting Ino heading out from the flower store, Shikamaru pretended to rush past her. A slight bump that kind of escalated, and he ended up kissing close to her ear instead.

“Sorry Ino, Choji wanted these limited edition BBQ chips before they’re sold out, I’ll see you later!” he said quickly before rushing off, face almost beetroot red from his blunder than the actual dare.

She had been meaning to spend some more time with the girls, so that worked out perfectly. Still, Ino was rather curious about what was happening later on. "Oooh, a surprise, huh? Though Ino was intrigued by the thought, she could wait until the night rolled around.

It was Ino's first birthday since they started dating, and it was an easy transition since she stayed at his place the night before because of his own birthday. Shikamaru also got Choji involved in case he got sloppy, but pretty much it was Shikamaru heading the day's plans like it was a mission.

"Yes, as you deserve, Ino!" Choji replied happily, just as long as they kept Ino on the right track according to plan. "Oh right, the girls are meeting you at the flower shop! They also said they'd get the guys to kidnap Shikamaru if-"

"Ahem, shall we get going then?" Shikamaru cleared his throat as he grabbed Ino's hand so they could walk ahead, Ino did not have to know the details of their backup plans. Soon they led Ino towards where she worked, and when the girls spent their time with her, it allowed the guys to help Shikamaru for his plan for tonight.

Oh boy, Shikamaru didn’t like how this game was going, there was a chance that Temari was going to kill him for either answer, but still the safer answer was.
