// don't recall which blog i had my hc post on regarding the dark souls undead so i'll just rerun it here right quick:
accursed undead: ye olde afflicted, the first to suffer from the original undead curse dating back to the days of lordran. the darksign is your proof that you're going hollow, guaranteeing that you'll rise from death until you at last succumb to the curse, losing all sense of self. that decline can be staved off for a long while by a strong enough motivation / purpose even if your body withers, with the only balm being precious humanity (which can also be used to restore your body to its former human glory).
curse bearers: same affliction, same symptoms, different name and era. the darksign remains as proof of your inevitable decline into a soul-hungering, mindless beast, though the humanity that could once sustain you is now beyond scarce in the centuries that've passed. without it, all you have to keep yourself together is by gathering souls to feed the darksign or through sheer will and closely-held purpose.
ashen one: whoever you were, whatever you were, you're now little more than a ghost after being fed to the first flame. the darksign may not eat away at your memories or very being any longer, but that's come at the cost of having been scoured down to ashes entirely. you're less than phantasm now, scarcely a person trudging along a path of immolation once more in a world long deprived of an end.

Or rather

Of course I had to draw something freaky, it's our boys, and they are disturbed. At this point I couldn't tell you if it's Simon Or Baz's daydream (also can we talk about the absolute FREAK Baz is in Carry On. Like Christ almighty that boy....hormones guys 😭) no but seriously the first time I read it I actually had to put the book down when he said something like that like because it was so startling like omfg 😭 this man was just casually dropping "I want to spit on him." In a seemingly normal fucking inner monologue LIKE BASILTON. CONTROL YOURSELF.
Anyways this is a little bit of new territory for me, if I'm being honest I don't really draw this kind of stuff, so I apologize if it looks a little strange.
Id also like to note that I have several sets of markers, and unlike for Baz , I don't really have a color association for simons skin tone and hair so don't expect it to look cohesive with the other drawings lol
As always I've drawn Baz way better than I've drawn Simon, so I'd kindly appreciate if we turn out attention to him and not Simon please and THANK YOU

They Scattered, But He Still Stands

This verse talks about the abandonment of Christ. Many people read the bible but don’t take their time and try to establish what the lord is referring to in his word ; but what we must understand is that through Jesus' life, he knew he would die, and he knew that his disciples would scatter because of fear or other reasons, but Jesus tried to tell Peter what would occur, and Peter says no not me I won't do that, and he went back and forth with Jesus saying not me .
Verse 30-31 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice, you yourself will disown me three times.”31 But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same
When Jesus reveals to us something that is happening in our lives, we can't deny it. All we can do is say, lord, how do I fix it? How do I make this right? He will tell us, but what Peter did was he kept denying Jesus about the situation; maybe he didn’t believe he would do such a thing; maybe it was pride; the verse doesn’t say; it just shows us Peter going back and forth denying Jesus, who knows everything.
This verse was predicted in Zechariah 13:7: “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the Lord Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
It was better that God did it this way, that there was no one with the shepherd, and then no one would get the glory for standing next to him when his moment arrived. God has planned everything, even in our life, down to the very second, and he knew if he had anyone standing there with him, they would say, I stood there with him through it all, and Jesus needed to stand alone to show how he didn’t fuss he stood there in silence.
Because if he had anyone next to him, they would ruin the story, they would ruin Jesus' moment; we can't allow what others say to ruin the story of Christ and his death and resurrection for us. But in this text and devotional today, we are talking about how the shepherd handles all of this alone. When a sheep or an animal is scared, they often scatter. His disciples ran and hid, because of fear of being seen with him or people knowing it was them who walked with Jesus, and instead of standing they all scattered.
We can't allow what others will say to disturb what we have with Christ ;we can't allow this world to turn us away from the power of God, and we can't say it won't happen because we all have had a moment in our life where we choose sin over Christ and that’s the same thing when we choose sin over Jesus we are choosing and denying the power of God for the power of this world.
What we experience in this life helps build us and teaches us how to depend on Christ; these men left Jesus in his hour of help. They scattered from their shepherd, but do we do this now? Yes, when we allow ourselves to let people and things come between us, we are moving away from the shepherd; the shepherd is the one who will save us from it all. He’s the one who will show us how to withstand the fiery darts of the evil one, but as long as we give ourselves over to the enemy, we won't be able to stand at all.
Isaiah 53:5-6 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Abandonment is a big thing to have done to us, and often, we look at abandonment as something that happens only to certain people, but Jesus was abandoned. We do this to him when we decide the road to the Christian life is too hard, but Jesus wants us to stand with him through it all. He wants us to wait for him to give us the way; how many of you will wait for him to point you in the right direction? As Christ stood there, he said nothing to defend himself through the spiting and the beating, and they pulled his beard, and they hit him in the head; he said nothing; he could’ve abandoned the mission and gone back to heaven; he could’ve sent a legion of the angel to destroy everyone, but he didn’t, he stood there and took everything for us to be saved!
*** Today, we learned about how Jesus stood and took it all for us, how he saved us, and how he was left alone. Sometimes, we are left alone, and we have to stand through a test and a trial, but it doesn’t mean God doesn’t love us; it doesn’t mean God is doing this because he hates us; no, he’s doing this so he can get the glory for our hardship.
Verse 7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,so he did not open his mouth.
We also learned he didn’t fuss; he didn’t yell; he stood there and took everything. Sometimes, in our test, we must stand and be silent; we can fuss and yell, but when we sit in silence like Christ, it shows we know he’s going to protect us. Jesus wants some of us to stand in silence through our hard times; he wants us to stand and wait for him to move. If you are having difficulty doing this, ask Christ to help you today, and he will help you stand in silence through it all. ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

All This Time- Chapter 5
cw: trans male pregnancy (past, mentioned), angst, miscommunication, fluff and happy ending
The supermarket was as uneventful as a shopping trip with a four year old gets. Elizabeth was determined to show her Dad all her favourite things, like the cat food that has the ‘pretty kitty’ on the box and the dog toys that cause arguments between her and Johnny since he won’t get them a pet.
She asks politely for a chocolate bar, which she receives, and she shares it with Simon after he tells her that Snickers are his favourite too.
Like clockwork, when they near the checkouts, Johnny grabs four different flowers without a word. He picks a tulip, a rose, a chrysanthemum and a gerbera daisy.
Simon tried to ask what they’re for but got distracted by Elizabeth pulling on his hand when the crowd around them grew. It was busy in the store, lots of people getting last minute back to school supplies as well as their weekly shops.
Before long, they wandered across from Tesco towards a church. Simon knows it well, it’s the reason he and Johnny had the flat so close to it, he buried his family there many years ago. Simon is surprised to see Johnny pick Elizabeth up, swinging her onto his hip as she holds the four different flowers gently, as he then waltzes into the graveyard.
Simon is a few steps behind but quickly catches up as they wander through the cemetery. It’s more crowded since he was last there, newer gravestones deep in the ground with gold etching on the marble.
Just as Simon goes to speak, Elizabeth is placed on the floor and she rushes off, quiet mumbles of ‘Nanny!’ escaping her mouth. Simon stands to Johnny’s side, “Johnny, why are we here?”
“To see her Nan,” Johnny says, matter-of-factly. He turns to Simon and his face pales dramatically fast. His hand comes to his mouth as he gasps, “Shit! Fuckin’ shite! Simon, I’m sorry, I didn’t think and I- I- Christ Almighty, I’m such a fuckin’ moron! I- we can go back, I’m sorry!”
Simon shakes his head, “No, Johnny, it’s okay. Probably about time I paid my respects.”
“Simon, I mean it, if you want to leave, we can go. It’s your call.” Johnny says firmly.
Simon looks up in time to see Elizabeth plop herself down in front of a grave with a smile on her face. He knows the plot well. Two companion plots, at a hefty sum too, but the lifting weight from his pocket did nothing to ease the weight on his mind. Far on the other end of the yard, an abandoned plot at this point, probably still stands. Withered with age and damaged from the weather. He hopes it rots eternally.
“Johnny, it’s fine.”
And with that, they catch up to their daughter.
For a four year old, her knowledge of graveyard respect is exceptional. She sits by the graves, but the heavy load sitting on Simon’s shoulders as he approaches dissipates when he sees Elizabeth there. She is plucking at the weeds in the ground, muttering ‘yuck!’ to Johnny as he sits beside her. She grabs dying flowers from out of the pots and places one of the flowers in each one.
Elizabeth Riley gets the Rose, Beth Riley the Tulip. Tommy gets the Daisy and Joseph. Joseph, whose age doesn’t even reach ten, he gets the Chrysanthemum.
The graves are perfectly maintained. No damage, no disturbed soil, no birds leaving their mess on the stones. They’re meticulously cleaned and Simon sees immediately that this has been Johnny and Elizabeth’s ‘project’ over the years.
“JoJo, I brought the- Papa I forgot how to say it! Ah, bronty- bron-to-saurus,” She spells out with a grin, “This week.”
She places the little toy dinosaur in front of the grave marker and lets it walk over the ground before saying, “Your turn!”
Joseph lays in the plot between his mother, and his grandmother. Tommy is on the end but there’s one grave missing. There’s a chunk of marble still forced into the ground and Johnny sees where Simon is looking.
He clears his throat, “A documentary came out a few years ago. About what happened. Kids came here and vandalised your stone. I- I was about eight months pregnant when it happened but I came and removed the stone. Broke it into pieces and took it out from here in the middle of the night. Police came knocking the day after, thought they might’ve caught me somehow, but they came to inform me of the incident. They had caught the vandals and assumed it was them. Think they took pity on me.” Johnny turns to Elizabeth and combs a hand through her wild hair.
Simon nods weakly and huffs, “Why'd you do that?”
“Regardless of what you think of yourself, Simon, I wasn’t going to let a group of kids ruin your name. I couldn’t stand it. You saved my life multiple times, you gave me my daughter, you’ve done everything and more for me and all I wanted to do was pay you back. Do something for you, for a change.” Johnny mumbles. He reaches over to Elizabeth Riley’s grave and plucks a dandelion out the ground.
“Talk to your Nana, sweetheart.” Johnny tells Lizzie, letting her clamber in front of the stone. She natters away about how she’s starting school and how the little girl next door is going to be in the same class.
She then mumbles, “Mah Daddy came home, Nana! He’s funny and big!” She giggles and Johnny turns to Simon to see him walking towards his Father’s grave.
“Ah shite,” Johnny sighs. He gives Simon his space for a minute, watching him out the corner of his eye as he stops at the grave in the far distance. He lets Elizabeth say everything she wants to, plays with ‘Joseph’ again and tells Beth how her hair is growing long and pretty like hers, before he bundles her into his arms and goes after Simon.
Just before they get there, Johnny places Elizabeth down and tells her he’ll just be a moment. He asks her to stay close by and she nods, going sitting at some other graves and taking weeds out the ground there instead.
Johnny walks over to Simon and places a hand on the small of his back, feeling Simon flinch. He looks at the grave before him. The sides are chipped and damaged, the words are weathering away and there is moss growing on the surface of the rock. The name ‘Damien Riley’ is slightly visible on the grave and Johnny notes how Simon’s hand is in a fist.
“I never brought her to this one,” Johnny mumbles, “I knew what he did to you all, couldn’t even think about paying respect to him, never mind force Elizabeth to.”
“You- How long have you been coming?” Simon asks.
“Since you left. It sounds silly, because I knew, deep down, you were alive. I was scared you may have been KIA or something though and I- I wanted to feel close to you. I would sit at your grave a-and talk to you. I would bring pictures from my scans and I played you a recording of her heartbeat once. I thought that if you knew you would’ve been here.” Johnny mumbles, “Since then, I’ve been caring for all the graves. Brought Elizabeth for the first time once she had all her jabs. I’ve talked to the graves a lot, these past five years almost, Simon, but I’ve never been to this one.”
“And Elizabeth,” Simon mumbles, “You’ve told her all about them? She calls my Mum, Nana.”
Johnny nods, “Well she is, isn’t she? I told her that they were in an accident.”
“Johnny I-” There’s a crack in Simon’s voice and when Johnny looks up, he sees tears on his face, “I don’t know how you could say you want to pay me back when that’s all you’ve been doing always.”
“It doesn’t feel like enough.” Johnny says.
“Well it is! You have cared for my family, thought about them even in death. You protected my honour. You did it all whilst having and raising our daughter when I wasn’t even here. I walked out on you when you needed me the most, and I'll never forgive myself for forcing you to do this all on your own.” Simon sighs. He glares deeply at the grave before him before turning his back to it and looking into Johnny’s eyes instead.
“And I’d do it all again in a heartbeat,” Johnny confirms, “Whether you believe it or not, I was indebted to you Simon. I always repay my debts.”
Simon wraps his arms around Johnny and buries his face into his neck. He breathes shakily as Johnny holds him close and mumbles, “Thankyou.” under his breath.
Elizabeth comes over, tugging on both of their jeans in an attempt to get their attention. Simon breaks the hug and lifts her up, sitting her on his hip, before leaning back into Johnny’s embrace.
A hand rubs his back, distinctly Johnny’s, but he feels a smaller hand gently patting between his shoulders when a voice speaks up, “Sad Daddy be happy now.”
Simon chuckles a little and rests his head against Elizabeth’s, “I am happy, darling, I promise.”
Johnny leans over and plants a kiss on Lizzie’s cheek, mumbling to her about how proud he is that she’s been good and that she’s such a sweet girl and Simon feels the large weight on his chest lift, like a dam opening up, and love comes flowing through the gaps and encompasses his heart entirely.

Liturgical Elements: The Embolism
In the liturgical rubrics of the Mass, the "embolism" refers to a short prayer spoken out loud by the priest after the congregation has collectively recited the Lord's Prayer. According to Nicholas Ayo (The Lord's Prayer: A Survey Theological and Literary, page 196), "the embolism functions like a marginal gloss, an explanation of the last line of the Pater, and an unfolding of its many implications." In reformed liturgy of the Roman Church, the English translation of the embolism is as follows:
Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil; graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of Your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
In the Tridentine form of the Roman Mass, a longer embolism was recited:
Deliver us, we beseech Thee, O Lord, from all evils past, present, and to come; and by the intercession of the Blessed and glorious ever-Virgin Mary, Mother of God, together with Thy blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and Andrew, and all the saints, mercifully grant peace in our days, that sustained by help of Thy mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all disturbance. Through the same Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Our Lord, who lives and reigns with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
The Ambrosian Rite, being another Latin rite, has an embolism that is unsurprisingly similar to the Tridentine one:
Deliver us, we beseech Thee, O Lord, from all evils past, present, and to come; and at the intercession for us of Blessed Mary who brought forth our God and Lord, Jesus Christ; and of Thy holy Apostles Peter and Paul and Andrew, and of blessed Ambrose Thy confessor and bishop, together with all Thy saints, favorably give peace in our days, that assisted by the help of Thy mercy we may be both delivered from sin and safe from all turmoil. Fulfill this by Him with whom Thou livest blessed and reignest God, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever.
The embolism was not only an element of Roman liturgies, either. Take, for example, this embolism used by the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church (notice how the doxology that follows the modern Roman embolism is instead integrated into this one):
Merciful Lord, lover of all mankind, do not let us be overcome by temptation, but deliver us from the rebellious evil one and his perverse and evil ways. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory belong to You and Your Only Son and Your Holy Spirit, now and always and forever.
Here is the embolism of the Syro-Malabar Church, reflecting the Eastern Syriac rather than Western Syriac tradition:
Lord, God Almighty! Fullness of all goodness! Our Merciful Father! We entreat You for Your mercy. Do not lead us into temptation. Deliver us from the evil one and his hosts. For Yours is the kingdom, the might, the power, and the dominion in heaven and earth, now, always, and forever.
In the Greek liturgies, the embolism only survives in the Liturgy of Saint James, which has the following:
Lord, lead us not into temptation, O Lord of hosts! For Thou dost know our frailty; but deliver us from the wicked one, from all his works, from all his assaults and craftiness; through Thy Holy Name, which we call upon to guard us in our loneliness.
On a final note, Fr. Frederick Holweck, the author of the Catholic Encyclopedia's article on the embolism, thought that the Mozarabic embolism in particular was "very beautiful." In addition to being said after the Our Father at Mass, the following prayer was also said after the Our Father in the Mozarabic Church's Morning and Evening prayers:
Delivered from all evil, strengthened forever in good, may we be worthy to serve Thee, our God and Lord: and put an end, O Lord, to our sins; grant joy to them that are afflicted; bestow redemption upon the captives, health upon the sick, and repose to the departed. Grant peace and safety in all our days, shatter the audacity of our enemies, and hearken, O God, to all the prayers of Thy servants, all faithful Christians, upon this day and at all times. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, ever through all the ages of ages.

I know you’re going through a lot right now and I feel so ashamed for asking for prayers, but I desperately need it. I live in Canada and the prices are insane. It is impossible to live of one income. Also, getting a job is so hard right now. Can you please pray that I can move out and live alone. I find it so hard to leave my bed and get a job, but I want to leave the abusive house I live in. 24/7 they torment me and then call me ungrateful. I hate it here. Please pray for a miracle, I can’t do this anymore. I need to leave, but I feel so numb and have no support system anywhere.
Please, don't ever feel ashamed to ask for prayers or any kind of help. There is nothing shameful about asking for help or prayers, even if you feel like the person you're asking prayers or help from is going through a lot. Of course, I will keep you in my prayers.
Some prayers you might find comforting are under the Read More. I would recommend picking one (or as many as you think you can handle) and praying it morning and night, and whenever else you need it.
A Prayer in Time of Need
Almighty God, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, come to my help and deliver me from this difficulty that besets me. I believe Lord, that all trials of life are under Your care and that all things work for the good of those who love You. Take away from me fear, anxiety and distress. Help me to face and endure my difficulty with faith, courage and wisdom.

The 11 Beliefs You Should Know about Jehovah's Witnesses When They Knock at the Door

The divine name. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that God’s one true name—the name by which he must be identified—is Jehovah.
Biblically, however, God is identified by many names, including:
God (Hb. ‘elohim; Gen. 1:1), God Almighty (Hb. ‘El Shadday; Gen. 17:1), Lord (Hb. ‘Adonay; Ps. 8:1), and Lord of hosts (Hb. yhwh tseba’ot; 1 Sam. 1:3). In NT times, Jesus referred to God as “Father” (Gk. Patēr; Matt. 6:9), as did the apostles (1 Cor. 1:3).
The Trinity. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the Trinity is unbiblical because the word is not in the Bible and because the Bible emphasizes that there is one God.
Biblically, while it is true that there is only one God (Isa. 44:6; 45:18; 46:9; John 5:44; 1 Cor. 8:4; James 2:19), it is also true that three persons are called God in Scripture:
the Father (1 Pet. 1:2), Jesus (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8), and the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4). Each of these three possesses the attributes of deity—including
omnipresence (Ps. 139:7; Jer. 23:23-24; Matt. 28:20), omniscience (Ps. 147:5; John 16:30; 1 Cor. 2:10-11), omnipotence (Jer. 32:17; John 2:1-11; Rom. 15:19), and eternality (Ps. 90:2; Heb. 9:14; Rev. 22:13). Still further, each of the three is involved in doing the works of deity—such as creating the universe:
the Father (Gen. 1:1; Ps. 102:25), the Son (John 1:3; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:2), and the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:2; Job 33:4; Ps. 104:30). The Bible indicates that there is three-in-oneness in the godhead (Matt. 28:19; cf. 2 Cor. 13:14).
Thus doctrinal support for the Trinity is compellingly strong.
Jesus Christ. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus was created by Jehovah as the archangel Michael before the physical world existed, and is a lesser, though mighty, god.
Biblically, however, Jesus is eternally God (John 1:1; 8:58; cf. Ex. 3:14) and has the exact same divine nature as the Father (John 5:18; 10:30; Heb. 1:3).
Indeed, a comparison of the OT and NT equates Jesus with Jehovah (compare Isa. 43:11 with Titus 2:13; Isa. 44:24 with Col. 1:16; Isa. 6:1-5 with John 12:41).
Jesus himself created the angels (Col. 1:16; cf. John 1:3; Heb. 1:2, 10) and is worshiped by them (Heb. 1:6).
The incarnation. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that when Jesus was born on earth, he was a mere human and not God in human flesh.
This violates the biblical teaching that in the incarnate Jesus, “the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily” (Col. 2:9; cf. Phil. 2:6-7).
The word for “fullness” (Gk. plērōma) carries the idea of the sum total. “Deity” (Gk. theotēs) refers to the nature, being, and attributes of God.
Therefore, the incarnate Jesus was the sum total of the nature, being, and attributes of God in bodily form.
Indeed, Jesus was Immanuel, or “God with us” (Matt. 1:23; cf. Isa. 7:14; John 1:1, 14, 18; 10:30; 14:9-10).
Resurrection. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Jesus was resurrected spiritually from the dead, but not physically.
Biblically, however, the resurrected Jesus asserted that he was not merely a spirit but had a flesh-and-bone body (Luke 24:39; cf. John 2:19-21).
He ate food on several occasions, thereby proving that he had a genuine physical body after the resurrection (Luke 24:30, 42-43; John 21:12-13).
This was confirmed by his followers who physically touched him (Matt. 28:9; John 20:17).
The second coming. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the second coming was an invisible, spiritual event that occurred in the year 1914.
Biblically, however, the yet-future second coming will be physical, visible (Acts 1:9-11; cf. Titus 2:13), and will be accompanied by visible cosmic disturbances (Matt. 24:29-30). Every eye will see him (Rev. 1:7).
The Holy Spirit. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the Holy Spirit is an impersonal force of God and not a distinct person.
Biblically, however, the Holy Spirit has the three primary attributes of personality:
a mind (Rom. 8:27), emotions (Eph. 4:30), and will (1 Cor. 12:11). Moreover, personal pronouns are used of him (Acts 13:2). Also, he does things that only a person can do, including:
teaching (John 14:26), testifying (John 15:26), commissioning (Acts 13:4), issuing commands (Acts 8:29), and interceding (Rom. 8:26). The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity (Matt. 28:19).
Salvation. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that salvation requires faith in Christ, association with God’s organization (i.e., their religion), and obedience to its rules.
Biblically, however, viewing obedience to rules as a requirement for salvation nullifies the gospel (Gal. 2:16-21; Col. 2:20-23). Salvation is based wholly on God’s unmerited favor (grace), not on the believer’s performance.
Good works are the fruit or result, not the basis, of salvation (Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:4-8).
Two redeemed peoples. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe there are two peoples of God: (1) the Anointed Class (144,000) will live in heaven and rule with Christ; and (2) the “other sheep” (all other believers) will live forever on a paradise earth.
Biblically, however, a heavenly destiny awaits all who believe in Christ (John 14:1-3; 17:24; 2 Cor. 5:1; Phil. 3:20; Col. 1:5; 1 Thess. 4:17; Heb. 3:1), and these same people will also dwell on the new earth (2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1-4).
No immaterial soul. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe that humans have an immaterial nature. The “soul” is simply the life-force within a person. At death, that life-force leaves the body.
Biblically, however, the word “soul” is multifaceted. One key meaning of the term is man’s immaterial self that consciously survives death (Gen. 35:18; Rev. 6:9-10). Unbelievers are in conscious woe (Matt. 13:42; 25:41, 46; Luke 16:22-24; Rev. 14:11) while believers are in conscious bliss in heaven (1 Cor. 2:9; 2 Cor. 5:6-8; Phil. 1:21-23; Rev. 7:17; 21:4).
Hell. Jehovah’s Witnesses believe hell is not a place of eternal suffering but is rather the common grave of humankind. The wicked are annihilated—snuffed out of conscious existence forever.
Biblically, however, hell is a real place of conscious, eternal suffering (Matt. 5:22; 25:41, 46; Jude 7; Rev. 14:11; 20:10, 14).

Notes for Chapter 2 of Sanguis
Valak can't heal Irene without the ritual because he is too disturbed by emotion. Due to his distress, his power malfunctions. In a twisted way, it's the sign of his true love for her. He feels dizzy and gets a nosebleed for the same reason.
Spartacus isn't actually a horse. Read the Key of Solomon.
The ritual may be named "Blood Incantation" in English. As you might have guessed, it is meant for an evil spirit, or a powerful sorcerer/sorceress, to save a mortal dearly beloved. Think "witch steals beauty from a fair maiden" fairytale trope, but instead of a witch stealing beauty and/or youth for herself, it's a demon stealing the life and health of someone, for someone. The sacrifice must mirror the receiver exactly, that's why Valak chooses a pregnant woman. The one who performs the ritual uses an enormous amount of his/her life force, so Valak ends up in agony. Don't worry, he's fine. The ritual is meant to be performed in a dire situation, thus improvisation is key. It is also made up. Do not try it at home. If you do, I will not give a cent for your bail. 😉 Also, I better not hear any complaints about inaccuracy. I did not base it on anything. It's Conjurverse fanfiction. Creative liberties, darling.
Now, the Latin... I'm very, very sorry for any mistakes I made. I'm learning the language. Besides, I'm much better at translating from Latin than to it. For this reason, the sentences in Latin are... Simplified. To say the least.

We are many peoples, and we have one mother
On Sept. 7, Archbishop Gomez celebrated the annual “One Mother, Many Peoples Mass” at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. The following is adapted from his homily.
Today we rejoice as the family of God, the Church. We are many peoples and we have one mother, who is the mother of God, the mother of Jesus, and the mother of all of us who believe in his holy name.
We also remember today the founding of this great city of Los Angeles in our mother’s name, as the City of Our Lady of the Angels.
So, we praise the Lord today for his many blessings, and we thank him for the witness of St. Junípero Serra and the Franciscan missionaries who brought Jesus Christ and his Gospel to this New World.
It was a brave and devoted band of settlers, missionaries, and natives who processed from the San Gabriel Mission to what is now the first Church in La Placita to establish this city 234 years ago this week, on Sept. 4, 1781.
The first families of Los Angeles, as we know, included Native Americans, Africans, Europeans, and Asians from the Pacific Islands.
The beautiful diversity of those founding families is reflected in your families gathered here today.
The family of God in Los Angeles is an encounter of cultures and peoples, fulfilling the promise of the early Church in Jerusalem, the Church of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came down upon men and women gathered from every nation under heaven.
That’s what the word “Catholic” means; it means universal, it means international, it means one family drawn from every race and language and tribe and people to the ends of the earth. This is God’s dream for his people. We are God’s dream for humanity.
Today in Los Angeles and throughout this great country, we need to renew our commitment to this beautiful dream of God, we need to uphold and celebrate this amazing diversity of peoples who call this land their home.
Every one of us is a brother or a sister to everyone else. We are one family, we are all in this together. We are many peoples, and we have one mother.
Our mother is the Queen of Heaven, our father is God Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth! Our brother and savior is Jesus Christ, who rules the nations from the rising of the sun to its setting, both now and forever!
When the angel says to Mary today in the Gospel, “Do not be afraid,” he is also talking to you and me.
We live in troubled and uncertain times. But nothing should frighten us or disturb us because we are Mary’s children. We are sons and daughters of the most high God!
This is who we are, this is our true identity. No matter where we came from, we are children of God! Jesus loves us, and his mother loves us, with a love that is beyond anything we could ever imagine.
Mary is our heavenly mother, and like our earthly mothers, we must let her be our teacher.
Our mother shows us the path to walk, the way to live. Mary always leads us to her Son, and to his word, to his plan for our lives: “May it be done to me according to your word.”

So, I just spent 5 minutes on Twitter (literally, i had my timer set for 5 minutes before I got blocked out) and I saw something that was. Incredibly disturbing.
I saw a tweet, posting a tiktok(?) Of a fat woman and her friend at a bookstore. (Using fat as a natural descriptor here, I'm fat myself.) The fat lady was picking up books with dark content in them, excitedly wanting to talk about it but being shamed by her friend.
The dark content in these books is something understandably a lot of people would be uncomfortable with; sex crimes, dark smut, death and gore, ect. Very wild fantasy adult books.
But that's NOT what disturbed me.
No, what disturbed me is the sheer amount of people that wants to literally burn those books and any like it. People actually calling for book burning! People saying that the women who read these books need to be hunted down and "dealt with"!!!! Not to mention the countless insults to her looks.
People calling this woman a porn addict, a degenerate, advocating for her death because she wanted to read some books that depict FANTASY scenarios in a FICTIONAL setting.
Why??? Why the hell are we wanting to kill people over smutty fiction???? Why are we advocating for book burning again??? Why are we regressing as a society??? Jesus Christ almighty.
What is wrong with these people. I feel so sick

Tozer in the Morning Growing Numbers Do Not Guarantee Increasing Quality
The question of numbers and their relation to success or failure in the work of the Lord is one that disturbs most Christians more than a little.
. . . There are Christians, for instance, who dismiss the whole matter as being beneath them.
. . .They prefer to sit around the Lord's Table in a select and tight little circle, admiring the deep things of God and, I very much fear, admiring themselves a wee bit also. This is a kind of Protestant monasticism without the cowl and the beads, for it seeks to preserve the faith of Christ from pollution by isolating it from the vulgar masses. Its motives may be commendable, but its methods are altogether unscriptural and its spirit completely out of mood with that of our Lord.
The other and opposite school is the most vocal and has by far the largest following in gospel circles today. Its philosophy, if it can be called a philosophy, is that "we must get the message out" regardless of how we go about it. The devotees of this doctrine appear to be more concerned with quantity than with quality. They seem burned up with desire to "bring the people in" even if they have not much to offer them after they are in. They take inexcusable liberties both with message and with method. The Scriptures are used rather than expounded and the Lordship of Christ almost completely ignored. Pressure is exerted to persuade the people (who, by the way, come to the meetings with something else in mind altogether) to accept Christ, with the understanding that they shall then have peace of mind and financial prosperity, not to mention high grades in school and a low score on the golf course.
The crowds-at-any-price mania has taken a firm grip on American Christianity and is the motivating power back of a shockingly high percentage of all religious activity. Men and churches compete for the attention of the paying multitudes who are brought in by means of any currently popular gadget or gimmick ostensibly to have their souls saved, but, if the truth were told, often for reasons not so praiseworthy as this.
Tozer in the Evening Condemnation or No Condemnation
A sinful man should be afraid; he has plenty to be afraid of. The consequences of his sins, death, judgment and hell are all awaiting him and he cannot escape them by looking the other way. While he lives on earth there are dangers of every kind facing him and everyone he loves. Any religious teacher that exhorts him to ignore these dangers is unrealistic, false to the facts and a deadly enemy to his soul. The prophet of tranquility is indeed another source of danger to him and should be considered one more object of fear. Where there are mortal perils and no place to hide, fear is the only sane reaction. To dismiss fear while the danger still exists is little short of insanity. Until the danger has been removed, fear should remain. Only that man has a right to be unafraid who has fled for refuge to the mighty Savior. Such a man knows the danger is there, but he also knows that his Almighty Lord will bring him safely through and present him at last faultless before the p resence of God. There are in the Scriptures innumerable exhortations to put away fear; but they are all addressed to Gods own children, never to the children of this world. Someone must care, and if a man has not cast his fears on Christ, he must bear them himself. The safety of the Rock is for those who have put their trust in the Rock. All others must face their enemies alone.

My statement regarding what happened at the Olympic Opening ceremony: Dear friends, As a conservative evangelical Christian, I am deeply disturbed and saddened by the recent events that unfolded during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The blatant mockery of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, His Last Supper, and the sacredness of Christianity is nothing short of demonic and an affront to God Himself. The Bible is clear: "Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap" (Galatians 6:7). The organizers and participants of this disgraceful display have sown seeds of mockery, blasphemy, and spiritual rebellion against the Almighty God. We must pray fervently for their repentance and salvation, but we cannot and should not support or condone their actions in any way. Throughout Scripture, we see numerous examples of God's swift and righteous judgment upon those who mock Him and His people. In 1 Kings 18, the prophet Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. After the prophets failed to call down fire from heaven, Elijah mocked them and their false god, saying, "Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened" (1 Kings 18:27). The Lord then answered Elijah's prayer by sending fire from heaven, consuming the sacrifice, and ultimately bringing judgment upon the false prophets. Similarly, in Acts 12, King Herod Agrippa I allowed himself to be worshiped as a god, and when he failed to give glory to God, he was struck down by an angel of the Lord and eaten by worms (Acts 12:21-23). These examples serve as a sobering reminder that God will not be mocked, and those who persist in their rebellion will face the consequences of their actions. As believers, we must stand firm in our faith and refuse to support or participate in events that mock our Lord and Savior. We must pray for the repentance and salvation of those involved in this disgraceful display, but we must also take a stand for righteousness and boycott the Olympics until they repent of their actions and make amends for the offense they have caused. In the words of the apostle Paul, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). We must be salt and light in this world, shining the light of Christ into the darkness and standing firm in our faith, no matter the cost. May God grant us the strength and courage to stand firm in our faith, to pray fervently for the repentance of those involved in this mockery, and to boycott the Olympics until they repent and make amends for their actions. Amen. Run to King Jesus and get right with him Cose now we are in the timer and any second the greatest EVENT THE RAPTURE and then the tribulation that not you not me want to be left behind but will be as Jesus is our Judge and jury and only he knows our each one of is heart . You and me would not wanted to be in front if him when he says ‘ I never knew you ‘ And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness'” (Matthew 7:21-23). Jesus says that it is possible to call on him and not be with him for eternity.
When he says "I never knew you" to some of his disciples, he meant he could not recognize them as true disciples, followers, and friends. Jesus is not ending a relationship with them but rather explaining how they never had a relationship with him to begin with.

Today's Daily Encounter Friday, April 19, 2024
Created For A Moment Like This
"When Esther's words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: 'Do not think that because you are in the king's house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?'"1
No doubt we see the sovereign hand of the Lord at work in Esther's life when she was brought out of darkness and chosen to be the queen of Persia. She was a young woman without any high social position or power. Without the protection of her cousin Mordecai, Esther was actually very vulnerable. Can you imagine how disturbed, confused, and insecure she must have felt as events unfolded around her?
We can feel that way too. God's purposes are being carried out just as He intended, but from our earthly perspective things sometimes seem confusing and unclear. That's why Esther's story is encouraging. It teaches us to trust in God's will. After all, He doesn't save us and then abandon us to our fate. On the contrary, he directs each of his children in the task he has laid out for them.
Begin to seek the Lord's hand in your life. He is carrying out his plan, sometimes gently, other times with abrupt interruptions. No matter what happens, don't forget that God is present, as He works and directs every aspect of your life. You are never insignificant in His eyes. You are so special and loved that Almighty God has devised a unique calling for you.
Suggested Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for today's passage, because it teaches me that no matter how adverse my circumstances may look, you have a divine plan for my life. Thank you, Lord, that you have promised to be present as you work and direct every aspect of my life. Let me see how special and beloved I am to you and that I have been created for a unique calling, for your honor and your glory. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
