finished one sock, wound the yarn for the second! my new yarn ball lacks a little of the picturesque nature of the hand-wound with the isolated stripes, but gains significantly in not having knocked my wrist out for the rest of the night and taking orders of magnitude less time to wind. thanks @fourpatch for recommending this stanwood winder, it was easy to assemble and easy to eat

In Valenwood, horned animals have great cultural significance. Animal horn is sometimes used in the crafting of furniture, always used in the crafting of traditional bows, and often used in the crafting of body decoration – most particularly headpieces, which the Bosmer are known for. Horn and antler headpieces carry a number of associations, from simply beauty and maturity to strong connotations of cleverness and wise instinct or a deep connection to the Green. These can be hunted or gifted, or under some circumstances stolen, but never bought. Typically children don’t wear these headpieces, but no-one would bat an eye as long as they were made to be worn pointing to the ground.
