uh wuff hi again. In your last response you talked about how you've never actually nursed a puppy before, but what if mommy and its puppies learned together?

letting its puppies practice on its fingers first, watching them get all eager for the real thing. teaching each one to be patient and wait their turn for mommy's lap. gently and sweetly correcting nips and bites, whiping drool from muzzles.

and when mommy's confident it's puppies know what to do, after a bit of training, it finally lets them latch onto it. I bet it would feel good for mommy too, releasing all that anticipation, pulling its puppies nice and close, soothing their whimpers reassuring each one that they'll get their turn eventually. paws desperately kneading into mommy,,,

i'm convinced my dog is literally house reincarnated because he pushes other dogs away, dislikes or otherwise barely tolerates all other dogs except for his one best friend who he kisses on the forehead every time he sees him, has a pain problem, and gets antsy when we don't give him his pain medication on time. he's dogtor house (sorry)

I hate all this medical stuff I need to do to maintain minimum function. I drove 40 minutes to a treatment appointment but didn’t get in because I was too late and there were no rooms left. Rescheduled at a closer office for Monday which is fine but I spent the morning not getting my scheduled medical care.

Went to another different treatment in the afternoon and fainted in the doctors office. Again. This is the fourth time that has happened and they’re just like oh anxiety it’s common. Until I start showing up at the ER the doctors aren’t going to take my fainting seriously. And I have been trying my very best to avoid the ER. In fact I’m training dogtor to alert to fainting and pre-syncope so I can take better care of myself.

This is not how I imagined my future.

He was only joking a little bit. He wanted to get better and actually do the work to get better, without making it difficult. After all, it wasn't just him how who had ended up hurt in all of this.

When Erica was done, Antonio took that as his chance to stand up again, allowing her to help him. He winced as his back protested at having been in that position for long. But he still gave Erica a nod and smile all the same as he pressed his cane against the floor for the extra support.

"Sounds good to me. I will admit it's smelling delicious," Antonio said.

"Yeah!" Russell said, "I'm, I'm glad you're, you're gonna be, be able to enjoy doing that again. I'm, I'm happy for you. I know, I know how, how passionate you, you are for cooking."

Leofric had opted not to use a spoon. He instead just raised the bowl to his mouth and drank straight from it. There was something about this, it seemed like it had been made with a care, enthusiasm, and joy. It almost felt like it was feeding his soul in a sense as he drank it.

"Yeah, it'll take more than this to take you down," Bill said, before he nodded at Veronica, "That sounds like a good idea."

On seeing Veronica enter the kitchen, Russell got another bowl so Lucien could ladle in some soup. He had overheard Veronica's plan and he agreed with Bill that having some soup might be good for Rook.

"The what?" Bill asked, unable to help but look a little bit baffled at the idea, "Well, as far as Rook is concerned, I know nothing about it, and never heard a thing, well, except someone's stomach."

After all, she had insisted he hadn't heard it, which meant he was going to follow that.

"And I would be glad to assist you with that." Veronica's tone was polite, though she did spare Bill a glance to let him know it was in his interest she didn't get involved.

She was the one with the power to get Rook to listen, after all.

"Yep, she's one of us." Erica confirmed, "She's like– What's his name? Simon! She likes going outside though."

Lucien looked up, "Oh. So she was listening."

Erica decided to ignore the remark for now to fully appreciate the hug. She could work with this whole having a brother thing. Antonio was patient enough to deal with her shenanigans.

She still let go after a while, figuring she shouldn't overstay her welcome regardless. "Let's go eat soup before Lucien gets upset." She lingered a moment, just in case Antonio needed help getting up.

"Ah, it's alright. It just means I have an excuse to make soup again at a later time." Lucien smiled, grabbing a spoon, "The possibilities are endless now that I have both hands back."

"I'm fine." Rook wiped at her face, flinching as it only made her eyes sting more. It seemed she was done puking up her insides for now at least. So she leaned back and pulled the blanket up, feeling all of a sudden very cold.

"Something warm would definitely benefit her." Veronica agreed, "I'll go get some of that soup."

Erica grinned, "Oh! You found the pigeon button!"

(Yv had a mild pancreatitis flareup, she has prescription meds on hand and instructions from the vet. She's feeling better now.)
