"Wawa?" ("Ogerpon?")
Ogerpon looked up from her page of doodles at Pink.
"Whatsit?"
Pink tilted her head a little.
"Wawa-wawa wa-wawa-wawa..?" ("You know that thing you said about the wedding festival..?")
Ogerpon nodded. "Okaaay..?"
"Wawawa-wawa, wa-wawawa-wawa." ("You said everyone gets there first, then the ones to get married do.")
Ogerpon nodded again after finishing another of her doodles.
"Wawawa-wa-wawawa." ("We're gonna do it in the morning.")
Pink's words made Ogerpon start looking upset. She put her pencil down to wipe her eyes. The Tinkaton went over to her and gave her a comforting hug.
After noticing, Spot had done the same.
"W-why is she c-crying..?" The Malamar asked, her voice quiet. Pink looked up at her.
"Wawawa-wa-wawawa-wa.." ("We go to Kitakami first in the morning..")
Spot looked at Ogerpon. "I h-heard that's t-tradition.."
"I know..!" Ogerpon said, her voice muffled by her 'hands'. "I still wanna go with Papa Wo and Papa Oki when they go, though..!"
Spot gave her a gentle squeeze. "It's g-gonna be hard to l-leave before they d-do, b-but y-you have to think a-about how happy t-they'll be w-when they get m-married..!" The Malamar showed her a happy look. "L-let's do it f-for them, okay..?"
Ogerpon looked away, then nodded.
"Okay. I-I'll do it...f-for Papa Wo and Papa Oki, and 'cause they'll be really happy when they get married..!"
"Wawa!" ("Yeah!") Pink looked up at Spot, showing determination.
Spot let go of her siblings and started to help them to put away what they were doing.
"L-let's get to b-bed early..! I h-heard Pao is g-gonna show up t-to g-give you a r-ride there, so w-we don't wanna m-miss him when he sh-shows up..!"
Pink and Ogerpon looked at each other, then at Spot before helping her tidy up. The three siblings, after they had some hot chocolate and cookies, went to their sleeping area.
--
The next morning, Ogerpon was the first to awaken.
"We gotta get up so we don't miss Uncle Pao!" She pulled Pink's arm. "Come..oooonnnn...!"
Pink sat up. She shook to help herself to awaken more. Ogerpon, after seeing Pink get up, went to do the same to Spot.
Unlike Pink, Spot was easier to awaken. She stumbled a little as she stood up, eventually being able to shake herself.
The siblings started gathering what they needed to take with them. They put everything together into a travel case that they had borrowed from one of the academy teachers, and stood outside the shrine door.
"Wawa-wa-wa..?" ("I wonder where he is..?") Pink asked as she rubbed one of her eyes. Spot put a fi up to her forehead as she looked out over the landscape.
"Th-there he is..!"
The Malamar pointed at a speedy white blur coming towards them.
Chien-Pao was careful as he came to a stop outside the shrine. He lowered himself to let Ogerpon and Pink onto his back. Before he could set off again, Wo and Oki had come outside.
"Hiya!" Ogerpon called out, waving one 'hand'.
"I hope that they make it there in one piece." Wo said, giving a serious look to Pao.
"Oh, don't worry - I'll make sure they will! We'll see you two when you get to Kitakami!"
"Bye Papa Wo! Bye Papa Oki!" Ogerpon called out again.
"Wawa! Wawa-wawa!" ("Bye! We'll seeya soon!") Pink was quick to shout out.
Spot stopped to look back at them, her eyes glowing blue as she held up the travel case with her Psychic powers.
"S-see you later..!" She waved a little, before looking behind her and quickly going to catch up with Pao and her siblings.
Wo looked at Oki after seeing them leave his sight.
"Let's get what we need sorted out, then start on our own journey~"
Oki pushed Wo's head down a little so he could nuzzle him.
"And then we can see what they've done for us~"
They went into Grasswither and started to get what was needed, making sure to take snuggle breaks every now and then.

&& Jackie’s 25th Birthday! 🎈🎉🎊
November 29, 2019
// @secrecykept submitted:
Her last birthday had seen him pulling long hours in the lead up. Hours and hours (days and days) of meticulous work on not only the present itself, but the wrapping too. And after all that work, he’d sent it to her anonymously, only for his nervousness about her reception to it to pushing him to almost ruin the gift before she could even open it.
But this year was different. (Aside from his nerves, that is, as they remained fluttering about, though much more subtly).
She knew him now. He could give her a gift in person.
So that’s what he was going to do now.
As to not give himself away, the gift wasn’t elaborately wrapped like last time. It was simply in a rather flat, square box with a little purple bow stuck on the top of it. Inside the box was another carefully, ridiculously detailed panel for the light projector she had received last year. This new piece featured a gorgeous, sleeping feline of a certain variety.
He held the box behind his back as he approached her with an attempt at an innocent grin.
“Sooo….” he said, stopping at her side and rocking on his heels, “I really love birthdays and giving people presents. I know I’m early, but I know yours is coming up and I wanted to get in first because I’m the best and also, I just hate waiting. So…here~!”
His hand came around from his back and presented the box to her with a little flourish.
He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand and looked away, his confident aura flicking but being held by his grin, “I hope you like it; it makes a leopard and you like them, don’t you? So…Happy early Birthday!”
Gift delivered, now all he had to do was resist running away.
————————————————————————————————————————
Innocent? Innocent wasn’t necessarily the type of word one would use to normally describe Chesh, Jackie was altogether sure. After the past few days that she’d spent with him, from that very first meeting, all the way up to now? Honestly, his personality didn’t quite make for even half the claim for innocence that he’d intended it to, of that she was sure.
Or, well – at least you could say she was almost, almost sure.
It’s a certainty that on most days seems utterly resolute, having been the usual target of his concentrated playfulness whenever he could get the chance; and yet, that same certainty falters the very moment he comes meandering up to her like this - somehow oozing a combination of cheeky confidence, fanfare, sheer delight along with a thin as fuck layer of anxiety.
That was the part that made her stop.
And for a brief moment there, she doesn’t understand.
“An early birthday — for me?” A brief blink of mahogany hues in confusion, before swiftly do her eyes turn to shift; zip, zip, zipping away over to the nearby laptop, and – whoops, there you have it. Flashing brightly on her screen like some kind of overly cheerful alarm.
November 28. The eve of her supposed to be ‘Big Day’.
The dawning of the first quarter of her life, the big Twenty Five.
She was turning twenty five.
Oh.
Oh wow! That was a milestone of sorts now, wasn’t it? A huge one. One she’d never even thought she’d ever get to, once upon a time. And yet here she was, alive and well and –
Forgetful as ever.
If there was ever a sign that she’d needed to take a breather one of these days, this was it. She didn’t even know what date it was anymore.
“Oh god, it really is my birthday, isn’t it?”
Well, you know - almost her birthday. Almost, almost; again with the almost.
She was getting tired of hearing that word, wasn’t she?
And it’s a quiver of pleasantness that bubbles up in her chest as realization gradually dawns, gaze turning back to face him, hands slipping up in acceptance; although for a moment there does she seem hesitant to take the package away completely, cocking her head at him as a sliver of perplexity made her gently frown.
Why - he wasn’t looking at her, was he?
“I – yeah, I do really like them – thank you Chesh, you didn’t have to! Although…” A faint pause, as mahogany hues tried ( and somewhat failed ) to catch his own wandering gaze. “You know, as much as you know that you’re already The Best and I know I’ll like it no questions asked,”
( and she would, she seriously really, really would! her excitement would be all together too palpable, and he’d be able to watch first hand by her side how she’d stare transfixed at the ceiling lights until sleep would eventually fall upon her ) though that really wasn’t the most important part right now, was it?
She continues, “I think – I might just love it just that much more if you could maybe – look at me, for a minute?” A wishful tone that’d laced her voice, the hope that it might be enough to coax him into some form of ease.
Without thinking does a hand shift steadily upwards only to press ever so gently against his jaw, a mild touch maneuvering his face towards her, just enough so she could softly smile – and he could actually see it.
She’s not quite prepared for the look on his face when she does.
And it’s there - there for only a moment, even as he makes quick attempt to hide it, and yet a short glimpse is all she needs to understand. The coalition of uncertainty upon his visage, the whisper of doubt, the minute quivering of unrest. Yet the earnestness to it, the sincerity and hope –
She feels herself go so soft.
Because really, what could possibly be more innocent then that?
“Hey, Chesh,” She utters gently, the look in her eyes so bright and warm and sweet —
You silly man – smile for me, please?
A quick shift, the sudden clutch of the gift ever so tightly against her chest, and you could see it in her eyes too. A sliver of unguarded innocence, as shy and as pure and as genuine as his own, and already — god.
She was so darn happy.
“Thanks — for remembering me.”
More then anything, was that on its own enough ❤

Innocent
Part One
Trigger warnings: mention of death, vore, mouth play
Part 2
--------------------------------------
Tommy was sitting down in the middle of his familiar cage, looking out at all the big people that were walking around and grabbing other cages. He didn't understand why people kept screaming whenever a big person would grab their cage though, the big people were always so nice, giving him free food and water, and sometimes even things to play with- well, until one of the special big people in aprons take his new toy away saying it's bad. He kept watching the big people, listening to their conversations, just like he did everyday… but today nothing interesting was happening, no one was doing any funny things and it was starting to get boring to just sit here.
Tommy's boredom was cut off at the sound of a familiar ding. He looked up to the door and saw a new big person wearing a yellow shirt with really fluffy looking brown hair and- they were looking at him!! No one ever looked at him apart from the special big people!!! Tommy smiled brightly and ran to the front of his cage to wave at the person, excited and hopeful that he could finally have a friend! The big person gave him a weird look, and Tommy wasn't sure why they seemed confused- he was just being friendly. For now Tommy didn't think about it, or really, he forgot about it as the big person walked over to him and crouched down in front of his cage.
"Now what do we have here~" The big person smirked, showing off a few of their teeth, and Tommy smiled in return at getting attention.
"Hello! I'm Tommy!!!" He introduced himself, and didn't notice the look of confusion that crossed the person's face.
"Uh, hi Tommy- are you… are you not scared?" The big person asked, and Tommy tilted his head, a bit confused by the question.
"No? Why would I be scared?" It was true that most other people were scared when a big person talked to them, but Tommy still really didn't understand what there was to be scared of.
"O- oh uhm…." The big person's face changed to show several different emotions, and after a few minutes they picked up Tommy's cage.
Tommy immediately started to bounce excitedly. He'd been picked up! That meant they picked him!! Now he'd finally get to see where all the big people took everyone to! Tommy started to think about his mama, she'd been picked once too, but she hadn't been taken out of the store like Tommy was. He zoned out the conversation the big person was having with the special big person as he imagined all the things he'd be able to do with his new friend, like finally having someone to talk to!
Tommy smiled and kept looking everywhere as he was carried out of his home and saw loads of huge walls with square holes. He'd never been out here before, and it was amazing to see the blue blanket above with it's big light (didn't big people call it the "sky and sun"? He couldn't remember-). He winced a bit whenever a loud roaring shiny thing passed them, but was still amazed by all the different colours and how fast all of them were. He let out little gasps as he saw walls with bigger holes that showed loads of amazing items he'd never seen before inside. It was all so amazing! Tommy wished he could go run around and see everything- unfortunately he couldn't as the big person carrying him made a hole appear on one of the big walls and walked inside.
"Wooooaaaahhhhh, where are we?" Tommy asked as he looked around, seeing a very unfamiliar but just as exciting new place he was now.
"This is my home…" The big person answered, and when Tommy looked up at them he was a little confused by the look on their face, he couldn't really tell what emotion it was, but it definitely wasn't the happy look they had earlier. Hmmmmm… maybe they just thought it was a mess? There was a lot of big things sitting around in the middle of the room after all.
"Well it's really really cool!!!" Tommy shouted up, trying his best to cheer up the big person.
"I guess it is…" they let out a small chuckle. They opened the cage door, and Tommy stood up in excitement. He didn't try to leave the cage as much as he wanted to, because he knew he'd just be picked up out of the cage like what was supposed to happen! So he waited, and waited… and waited, for eh big person to pick him up? Why haven't they picked him up yet? It's been a few minutes now, usually he'd be grabbed by now. "You gonna come out?"
"No, I'm waiting!" Tommy smiled up at the big person, still waiting patiently to be taken out. The big person looked at him in confusion, and he just smiled back. They let out a sigh, and Tommy smiled as he watched their huge hand reach in and pick him up. He squirmed with excitement at the feeling of being lifted up high.
"It's just like any other tiny…." They mumbled and licked their lips. Tommy watched as their mouth opened wide and he could see all of their teeth, their huge tongue, and even the dark abyss that was their throat; he didn't fight as he was dropped onto their slimey tongue, only moving to reposition himself to be comfortable. He watched as the mouth slowly closed around him, and all the light left… he wasn't scared though! He knew big people did this to people all the time! Tommy was actually excited to see where people went after being put into mouths!
Tommy started to giggle as the tongue under him began to lick him all over. Throwing him around the small space and tickling him whenever it touched his skin. He whiped some spit out of his hair, then laughed as the tongue pinned him down and got spit all over him once again. He wiggled a little bit once he was moved around and now the tongue pinned him to the top of the mouth, he then soon heard a loud gulp behind him- then he finally thought of something.
"Big person, can I ask you a question?" Tommy asked, then felt himself get pushed into a cheek, he only squirmed a little bit at how tight it was, but was otherwise comfortable already.
"Oh- uh sure…"
"When you swallow me, will I see mama? She got put into a big person's mouth too, is this gonna take me to her or to where your mouth goes?" The child asked, innocently and curiously. He waited a long time for an answer, and started to wonder if the big person didn't know where mouths took people- but then was surprised when he was spit out into the big person's hands.
"Fuuuuu- frick, you… you're actually just a kid…" They said as they held the innocent child- god he'd almost killed a child- in his hands. Wilbur watched the small one look around in confusion then finally up at him.
"Why'd you spit me out?" It- no- they asked, and Wilbur felt nothing but pain and guilt in his chest. Did they not understand? Did nobody tell them? Did they really think…. Did they really believe that humans didn't kill tinoes when they are them? "Wasn't I gonna see mama?" Dammit morals-
"W- well uh, it's not time for you t- to see her yet?" Wilbur lied, he had no idea who this kid's mom had been, just that she was dead now if she'd been eaten.
"Oh… Oh! She told me to wait for her when she was picked! I remember, so I just gotta wait more!!" He smiled up at Wilbur and he felt his heart beat more.
"Y- yeah- yeah… you just gotta.. gotta wait…" Hold it in Wil, don't cry in front of the kid.
"I can't wait to see her again-" The kid (didn't they say their name was Tommy?) said then gasped "and now I can show her my new friend!"
"New friend?" Wilbur couldn't stop himself from asking, a little curious.
"Yeah! You!!!" Tommy smiled and Wilbur felt his heart crush to a pulp.
"You- you think I'm your friend?"
"Yeah!! Your the first person to be nice to me, big person!!"
"Wilbur." He cut in.
"Hm?"
"My name is uh Wilbur…" He was definitely going to keep this kid now and try to make sure nothing bad ever happened to them.
"Okie Wilby! We'll be the bestest friends foreva!!!!" And as Tommy said that, it solidified Wilbur's promise to himself to keep this child safe. He gently ruffled their hair with a finger, and smiled when Tommy laughed.
Yeah… he'd keep them safe...... And hopefully Dream wouldn't find out about them...

When Steve hears you stop struggling, stop fighting and stop crying, he’s nervous.
It’s been a while since he locked you up there, and he really should check on you soon, if only to make sure the baby’s okay after that stunt you pulled.
He pushes the door to the bedroom open, eyeing your figure carefully.
You look like you’re asleep. If he wasn't so attuned to your body, your heart and your breathing, he wouldn’t have noticed something’s wrong.
Your heart is beating rapidly, far faster than normal. And it’s weaker than usual.
Your breathing is shallow and strained, and your face is lacking its usual healthy glow.
He rushes to your side, tearing the rope from your wrists and touching your face carefully.
Your skin is hot to the touch, and he feels fear settle in his gut.
He doesn’t know what to do, how to help. He’s never really had to help you like this, the doctor’s always been nearby.
He grabs his phone, calling the doctor and pacing nervously.
“Sh-she’s burning up and her breathing is shallow.”
Steve's stomach drops as he listens to the doctor’s instructions, answers his questions and comes to the realization of why you’re like this.
He rolls you onto your left side, tears welling up in his eyes at how unresponsive you are.
The doctor hangs up after telling the super soldier that he’ll be there soon.
His heart is in his throat as he tries to undo the damage of his punishment, putting the evidence back in the box and kicking the rope under the bed.
You’re still unresponsive, heart weak, but your breath sounds a little less strained.
Monster. That’s what you called him. What Natasha called him and what Bucky’s asset called him.
Maybe you’re right.
But he wants you. He needs you. Giving you up would be giving up a piece of his soul and he’s not ready to do that yet.
~*~
The doctor informs him that both you and the baby are okay, but being on your back for so long was compressing a major vein supplying your baby with oxygenated blood. If he’d gotten there any later it might’ve been too late.
With strict instructions to keep you on your left side and make sure you stay hydrated, the doctor takes his leave.
He stays by your side, holding your hand tightly in both of his as he really comes to terms with the fact that it was entirely his fault. He almost killed you and your baby to prove a stupid point. To discourage you from doing the very same thing.
His heart is heavy in his chest as he listens to your heartbeat get stronger, to the baby’s heartbeat continue fluttering like a hummingbird’s.
Those two sounds bring him peace, if only temporarily.
Shattering his peace is the sound of the front door opening, followed by tiny little footsteps clomping up the stairs.
“Mommy! Mommy!”
Sarah.
Steve shoves himself to his feet and quickly leaves the room just as his daughter tries to enter.
“Sarah, mommy’s sleeping.” She frowns up at him and shakes her little blonde head.
“I need to talk to mommy!”
She walks around his legs only for him to scoop her up in his arms.
“She’s sleeping right now, honey.”
Sarah shakes her head angrily, beating her tiny fists against his shoulders.
“Let me go! I want mommy! Mommy!! Put me down!” She starts shrieking. Full-on screaming bloody murder right in his ear, and he loses his grip on the wriggling child.
She slides out of his arms and runs into the bedroom, climbing onto the bed and shaking your shoulder.
“Mommy?” She’s got little tears on her face, and they don’t cease when you don’t wake up.
“Why won’t mommy wake up?!” She looks up at Steve with terror written on her face and it shatters his heart in his chest.
“Sarah, mommy’s sick, okay? I had the doctor come over and he said that she needs to rest and when she wakes up we’re gonna need to make sure she’s got plenty of water, okay?”
Sarah’s big blue eyes are filled with tears and she shakes her head.
“I want mommy!”
She clings to your torso, crying against your shoulder in fear.
“Sarah, honey, mommy’s gonna be okay. You just gotta give her some space, okay? How about I set up a movie for you?” Sarah sniffles and slowly pulls away from you, looking at her father and shaking her head again.
“I want mommy! I hate you!”
Steve then realizes just how crucial you are. How important you are, not only to him but to his daughter as well.
Losing you would hurt so many people.
“Honey, you gotta give mommy and I some space, okay?”
He picks up the five-year-old, despite her quite literally kicking and screaming, and sets her down outside the bedroom.
He shuts the door quickly and locks it even faster.
Sarah stands outside, wailing her head off and pounding on the door with her tiny little fists.
She cries for you, over and over again, and it breaks Steve’s heart.
He’s brought back to what you said about him. About how this isn’t love.
He sits down at your side again, trying desperately to drown out the sound of his daughter crying outside as his thoughts overwhelm him.
He hasn’t been the nicest to you, that he’ll openly admit, and he makes mistakes probably more often than he doesn’t. But he loves you. He needs you.
Tears well up in his eyes and he lets out a shuddering breath.
He’ll make this right. He has to. Sarah deserves a mother, so does your unborn baby. And -though he may not deserve you- he needs you. The monster will be hard to fight, but losing you will be harder.
The damage he’s done might be irreversible, but he’s gonna do what he can to make things right, to give you a better life.
You don’t wake up for a few hours, but when you do you’re confused.
Your back aches and you feel a little dizzy as you remember what happened, how you got here.
Steve watches as you regain consciousness, confusion pulling your brows together before you slowly open your eyes.
“How’re you feeling?” He asks softly, rubbing his thumb across your knuckles soothingly.
You look up at him then drop your gaze to your belly, bringing your free hand down to rub it gently.
“Am I... are we okay?” He nods gently, tears in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, (Y/n). I was... I don’t know, trying to teach you a lesson. And all that did was hurt you. Hurt the baby. I wanted to show you that trying to hurt yourself and hurt the baby wouldn’t fly, but I ended up doing far more damage.”
You swallow hard and struggle to push yourself into a seated position, wincing at the throb in your head.
“The doctor said that you shouldn’t move too much, and try to stay on your left side when you sleep. I-I didn't know that sleeping on your back was bad.”
You take a deep breath and look up at him, waiting for the anger to take hold in his eyes but it never does.
“I’m sorry for hurting you. For scaring you and not trusting you. I... I lost you for so many years and now I have you back and... I don’t wanna lose you again. But everything I do to try and keep you close, make you mine... all it does is push you further away and I’m sorry.”
His apology takes you by surprise, and you eye him skeptically.
How are you supposed to know if he’s telling the truth?
He drags one of his hands down his face and for a moment you can truly see just how old Steve Rogers is.
The exhaustion of carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders finally shows in the lines near his eyes, the bags beneath them. But what really displays his age is his eyes. They’re so full of trauma and pain and weariness.
For the first time since waking up from the ice, Steve Rogers looks his age.
“I-I’m sorry, too,” you whisper, surprising him.
“I didn’t... I wasn’t thinking. I just... I wanted to punish you for what happened to Natasha. What you did. I wanted you to hurt but I just ended up hurting myself in the process.” You look down at your hands, trying to figure out how you want to phrase what you have to say.
“People argue, Steve. But what you do... it’s beyond that. We’re not... there are so many things wrong with what’s happening between us, what’s happened already, but I can’t leave. Sarah’s too attached and all I want for my little girl is to have a happy life. To have the happiness that was torn from me.”
Guilt settles on his chest, but he lets you continue speaking.
“I want my daughter to have a good life. I don’t want her to be afraid of-of people. The way I am. She loves you, and I know... I think you love her. You haven’t hurt her yet, and I hope it stays that way because at the rate we’re going, I'm not sure how much longer I’ll be able to do this.”
The pure fatigue on your face is more than enough explanation, but the idea of losing you is too much for him to bear.
“No, don’t say that. I’m gonna get better, okay? We-we were happy once. And we can do it again. I’ll be gentle and patient. I just... I need you, (Y/n). I need you a lot and the fact that you have such a tight hold over my every thought makes me angry. But I’m not gonna take it out on you anymore, okay?”
You let out a deep breath and eye him carefully.
“You’ve said that before.”
He thinks back to the time you spent in that cabin in the woods, where you turned his friends against him.
He has said that before, and look at where he is now.
“This time it’ll be different.”
You don’t have the energy to fight him. So if he’s gonna try, fine.
“Where’s Sarah?” You ask, hoping she’s still safely out with Morgan.
Steve’s face falls again and he stands up and opens the door to your bedroom.
Sarah sits crumpled in a ball, her cheeks covered in tears.
“Mommy!” She all but screams the word, launching to her feet.
Steve tries to take her hand but she yanks it away from him, shooting him a glare then running to the bed and climbing up beside you.
Your heart breaks when you see how sad she looks, and you hug her to your chest.
“It’s okay, baby. Mommy’s okay.” She sniffles and climbs onto your lap, climbing to you like her life depends on it.
You wonder what happened while you were unconscious, what Steve did to upset her so much, and your mind immediately goes to the worst.
You look at the man, your thoughts written plainly across your face, but he quickly shakes his head.
“No. I just told her she couldn’t come in. Not ‘till you woke up. She uh... she stayed right outside the door.”
You soothe your daughter, rocking her as much as you can manage with the pain rolling down your spine.
“It’s okay, baby. Mommy’s okay. Everything’s okay.” You hold her close to you, trying to calm her down while Steve looks on helplessly.
Although his daughter loves him, loves being here with him, nothing can compare to the bond that the two of you have.
The monster in him hates it. Hates that he’s not as close to his own daughter, blames you for it. But he pushes that part of himself down.
He made a promise. And this time he’s not gonna break it.
~
"Are you sure you’re okay with it?” He asks for the thousandth time.
You only shrug, fixing your hair in the mirror as the doorbell rings.
“It’s a little too late now, Steve. Besides, I don’t really care. Sarah’s gonna have fun and that’s all that matters.”
Your daughter took a few days to warm up to Steve again, but now that she has he’s not gonna risk anything changing that.
He takes one last look at you, at how pretty you look in your blue sundress, then leans forward and kisses your cheek.
“I love you, (Y/n). I can send them away.”
You take a deep breath and shake your head.
“Sarah’s excited. Besides, I wanna know what we’re having.”
You plaster on a forced smile and it breaks his heart, but he turns and heads downstairs to greet the guests.
Ever since you got hurt, he’s been nicer. Far gentler than he's ever been with you, and you’re not complaining.
Steve has the potential to be a good person, that much is obvious, but he chooses not to.
He hasn’t hurt you again, or even yelled at you. No, he’s been patient and understanding and it’s such a sharp contrast from who he was before.
You can hear him greeting the guests warmly, chatting on and on about this and that and whatever else.
Taking a deep breath to prepare yourself, you leave the faux safety of the bedroom and head down the stairs, smiling at your guests.
People that you’ve never seen before are in your house. Well, that’s not true. You’ve seen them on TV.
The Avengers are in your living room and kitchen, talking softly amongst themselves.
In the presence of these superheroes, you feel small. Weak. And you can’t fight the urge to find Steve as anxiety crawls up your spine.
He’s in the kitchen, talking animatedly with Tony Stark and Sam Wilson. Iron Man and Falcon.
He looks so at ease, his face split open with a laidback grin.
Sam’s eyes find yours and he says something to Steve, making the blond turn to you with a soft smile.
He waves you over and you obey, one hand resting delicately on your bump.
“Sam, Tony, this is my (Y/n). (Y/n), Sam and Tony.” You nod politely at them, sliding your clammy hand into Steve's nervously.
You haven’t been around this many people in a very long time.
“It’s nice to finally meet the woman who’s got Captain America so hooked! All he does is talk about you,” Sam says, a grin on his face.
You smile at him, looking up at Steve.
He nods encouragingly, smoothing his thumb over your knuckles to try and ease your anxiety.
“It’s nice to meet you, too. I, uh, I’ve heard a lot about you. About both of you.” Tony smiles looking down as someone tugs on his pant leg.
“Can I have a sleepover at Sarah’s house?!” Morgan asks excitedly, her little face full of glee.
“You’re gonna need to go ask your mother. You know she makes all the decisions.”
Tony’s gaze lifts to yours when his daughter runs to find her mom.
“Is it alright if she sleeps over tonight?”
Steve nods then looks at you.
“You alright with that?”
You’re not sure if it’s a real choice or a test, but you don’t want to find out.
“Of course. She’s always welcome here.”
Tony nods with a smile, then resumes whatever conversation they were having before you showed up.
You tune out what they’re saying, carefully rubbing over your stomach and poking at your baby whenever they decide to kick you.
“(Y/n)? Did you wanna help me set the food up outside?” Pepper’s voice breaks you from your trance, her hand coming to rest softly on your shoulder.
You look up at Steve, silently asking for permission, but he just leans down and presses a soft kiss to your lips and lets go of your hand.
You follow Pepper, setting up the table in the backyard silently for a while before she clears her throat.
“How are you feeling, (Y/n)? Sarah told us you were sick.”
You swallow hard and give her a tight smile.
“I’m feeling better. Tired all the time but this little devil is to blame for that.” You poke your belly only to be met with another kick.
Pepper nods, smiling at you.
“Are you excited?”
That question throws you for a loop.
Are you? Are you excited to have another baby?
You’re excited for Sarah to have a sibling. Excited to get to hold your baby and love your baby. But the reason why you’re having the baby in the first place? The father of your baby? No.
“Yeah, I am. A little nervous, too.”
She sits down by your garden, patting the seat next to her.
“You look tired, (Y/n). More tired than a mother should be. You’re wearing yourself thin.” You keep your lips sealed, not wanting to say anything that might make Steve mad.
She sighs and sets a gentle hand on your knee.
“I don’t know what your... relationship is with Steve, but I know you’re unhappy. He’s a good guy, deep down. But you need to take care of yourself, okay? Don’t work yourself to the breaking point because it’ll be even harder to build yourself back up. Especially with a brand new baby.”
You let out a shuddering breath and nod.
“It’s just hard. I’m trying but... it’s hard.”
As you talk softly with Pepper, Steve observes the two of you.
You look so sad, so defeated. He hates that he made you look like that.
“She’s unhappy, Steve.”
He turns to the voice, eyebrows raising.
“Wanda. I didn’t know if you’d make it.” He pulls her into a hug. “I heard about what happened in Westview... Wanda, I’m sorry. Are you okay?”
She sighs, pulling away with a sad smile.
“No. But I will be.” Her eyes travel back over to you for a moment, feeling the pain and the sorrow in your soul.
“Do you think she’ll ever be happy here? With me?” Wanda sighs, crossing her arms over her chest and closing her eyes, feeling your thoughts, your energy.
“It’s hard to tell. Right now she’s so... numb. Nothing but sadness and... hopelessness. Her spirit is crushed, Steve.” She reopens her eyes and turns to the blond.
“You can’t keep her here like this. It’s only a matter of time before she gets fed up and tries to do something drastic. Again.”
Steve knows. He fucking knows that. But he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to do to lift your spirits.
He's given you more freedom, let you make more decisions for yourself. He’s been gentler with you, hasn't forced himself on you.
Not forcing himself on you isn’t something to gloat about, but given the history between the two of you, it’s something fairly major.
He just wants to keep you in his life. He needs to keep you in his life.
He turns to the young woman beside him, a thought bubbling into his mind.
“Could you... do something to make her happy? Make her enjoy her life here? Make her love me again?”
Wanda’s mouth curves down as she looks at you, watches you play with your daughter and Morgan.
“Steve, it’s not right.”
The blond lets out a pained breath, shaking his head desperately.
“I just want happiness, Wanda. Don’t I deserve it? Haven’t I suffered enough to deserve a happy ending?”
Wanda’s eyes glow red with sorrow as she’s reminded of her own happy ending that she had to give up.
She takes his hand and gives it a squeeze, dropping her gaze for a moment before looking over at his desperate blue eyes.
“We don’t always get what we deserve. It’s hard and it hurts, but we can't control everything. And at some point, we need to let go. No matter how hard it is or how much it hurts. We can’t hurt other people because of what we think we deserve.”
They both look back over to you, your own eyes already on the pair, but dropping as soon as you see them turn to you.
“I’m sorry, Steve. I can’t do that.”
Tears stab at his eyes and he huffs out a breath through his nose, turning on his heel and walking away from the party, from his friends.
His abrupt departure catches the attention of a few people, yourself included. Before you can get up and see what’s going on, Bucky’s on his feet and heading into the house.
The woman Steve was talking to makes her way over to you, smiling gently.
“Hi (Y/n). I’m Wanda.” You smile at her, eyes darting towards where Steve disappeared from then back to her.
Bucky re-emerges only a few moments later, shaking his head at Natasha when she gives him a quizzical look.
You turn to Wanda with a strained smile.
“Could you just watch Sarah for a minute? And make sure she has something to eat? The foods ready.” She nods, watching with sad eyes as you walk back into the house to see what’s wrong with Steve.
“Steve?” You call softly, looking around for him only to find him sitting on the couch in the living room, his face in his hands.
“Why can’t I have what I want?” His question catches you off guard and you move to stand in front of him.
He shakes his head sadly, pulling his hands off of his face to grab yours, holding them tightly.
His lips brush over your knuckles gently, before he presses the back of your hands against his forehead, dropping his gaze to the floor.
“This isn’t right.”
Your heart races in your chest, stomach tying in knots as you try to figure out what he’s talking about.
“What are you talking about? Is everything okay? Did... did I do something wrong?” Maybe you shouldn’t have talked to Pepper earlier. Maybe you should’ve just stayed quiet and smiled.
“I can’t keep you here.”
One sentence. Five words. Sixteen letters.
That’s all it takes to have your heart stuttering.
“What... what do you mean you can’t keep me here?” You try your hardest not to let your hopes get too high. Maybe he’s going to kill you. Maybe that’s what it is. It’s certainly something more up his alley than... the alternative.
He slowly raises his head, teary red eyes staring up into yours.
“You know what I mean.”
You shake your head, needing to hear him say it himself.
“What are you saying, Steve?”
He lets out a heavy sigh and closes his eyes, the words hurting him but he needs to say them.
“You're free to go. You and Sarah.”
The breath gets knocked from your lungs, eyes wide as tears start to blossom. This is a trap. A test. It has to be. There’s no way...
“You’re letting us go?” You ask softly.
He sighs again, nodding as tears find their way down his cheeks.
“Yeah... I guess I am.”
You’re silent, staring at him and waiting for him to tell you it’s a joke, to punish you. But he doesn’t. No, instead he lets go of one of your hands and stands up, his chest almost brushing yours.
“You said I don’t love you... but I do. I love you. Or maybe I love the idea of you, I don’t know. But either way... I hate how sad you are. How sad and afraid I make you. You're free to go wherever you want.”
You’re practically hyperventilating.
After all this time, you never truly thought he’d ever let you go. That he’d have even a shred of decency left inside him.
He cups your hands together and carefully places something inside them, then turns and walks to the front door, grabbing his keys and leaving the house.
You stand silently, staring at the object in your hands until standing becomes too hard and you think you may throw up.
Then you sit down, silent tears trekking down your cheeks.
“(Y/n)?” You’re not sure how long you’ve been sitting on the couch, staring at your hands, but Natasha’s voice pulls you from your thoughts.
“(Y/n), are you okay? Where’s Steve?”
You stare up at her then look back down at the tiny, life-changing object in your hands.
“He let us go,” you whisper, your glossy eyes raising to hers again.
She looks half as shocked as you feel.
“What?”
You sniffle then wipe the tears off of your cheeks.
“He’s letting us go,” you repeat, pushing yourself to your feet and holding your bump.
“Really?” You nod, eyes finding the backyard through the kitchen window.
Sarah and Morgan are playing outside with Sam and Wanda.
“What are you gonna do?”
Your heart is so full of confusion, full of pain and hurt.
“I’m gonna go cut the cake, then have a talk with Sarah.” She nods, a small smile on her face.
She heads back outside and you take a few deep breaths, trying to calm down before you go out and face Steve’s friends.
You toy with the dainty thing he dropped in your hands before nodding to yourself.
This is what’s right. It’s the right choice for both of you.
You entertain his guests for a few more hours, not wanting to clue them into anything in case they disagree with your decision, with Steve’s.
Only after the presents are given and the cake is almost completely devoured do they finally start to leave.
Wanda helps you tidy up the backyard, writing her phone number down with a soft smile and a whispered ‘if you ever need a friend’.
Everyone bids you goodbye until only Bucky and Nat are left, the metal-armed soldier staring intently at your left hand before a smile spreads across his face.
He surprises you, pulling you into a gentle hug and nodding his head.
“Congratulations, (Y/n).” You’re not sure what he’s talking about, but for some reason, you don’t think it has anything to do with the baby shower.
They leave too, and then you’re virtually alone, Sarah and Morgan asleep upstairs.
After cleaning up every last inch of the house, you head upstairs to go to sleep.
Steve isn’t home until after midnight, long after he lets his tears run dry and his heart stop shattering. It just aches now. Hurts.
He let you go. He really did it.
Deep down he knew this would be the outcome. Either this or your death, but he never wanted to accept it. Refused to admit it to himself.
But seeing Wanda... after all that she’s been through... and she’s still standing strong.
He takes his shoes off and drops his keys on the kitchen counter, freezing in his tracks when he sees the covered plate of cake with his name written on it.
The batter is blue.
A boy.
He’s gonna have a son.
A son that he’ll never get to meet. He’s given you freedom, and he doubts you’ll let him be a part of your child’s life after all that he’s put you through.
He slowly makes his way upstairs, his heart hurting when he sees no sign of your things in the pristine house.
When he pushes open the bedroom door he freezes in his tracks.
There you are, sleeping in his bed. No bags are packed, nothing is out of place, and the dainty diamond ring sits on your finger.
You’ve made your choice, he realizes, his heart jumping for joy in his chest.
He sheds his clothes then climbs into bed with you, wrapping you up in his arms and sighing heavily.
Maybe Wanda was wrong.
Maybe he’ll get his happy ending after all.

________
Friday Night
“Y/N, I’m downstairs when you’re ready,” said Jensen through your closed bedroom door.
“I’ll be there in five,” you said.
“See you in fifteen,” he chuckled before he walked away. You walked back into your bathroom, looking over your hair in a bun. It looked like a freaking messy bun actually. You should have done it down and in big flowy waves instead. You pouted and smoothed out your dress. Of course you were bloated and you’d nicked your leg more than once shaving earlier.
“It’s Jensen,” you said to yourself, taking a deep breath. “He’s never even seen you in makeup before. You’re fine. He’s not gonna say anything.”
You forced yourself out of the bathroom and slipped on your heels, your clutch in your hand. You wobbled for a step or two on the carpet but did better once you were out in the hardwood hall. Ten seconds later you were downstairs, heading over to the foyer area.
“All set?” you asked, Jensen spinning around. He smiled as he stared, eyes looking you up and down more than once, not even trying to hide it.
“Y/N, you look pretty,” said Arrow as she rushed in from the family room.
“Yes she does,” said Jensen. “We’ll be home soon, okay?”
“Okie dokie,” she said, wandering off with a little wave.
Half an hour later you were sat at a table in a very nice restaurant, Jensen tugging on his collar. His cheeks were slightly pink but it wasn’t from the cold outside.
“So...what’s a good wine?” you asked, sliding the drink list over to him. “I’m not really good with the names.”
“You like red or white?” he asked.
“Normally red,” you said. “You?”
“I like a Merlot,” he said. “You like dry?”
“Sure,” you said.
“We’re not going dutch tonight you know right. This is all on me.”
“We can go dutch, Jensen.”
“I asked you out and this is fancy, even for me. My treat, okay?” he asked.
“Alright,” you said, looking around the restaurant and over in the distance to the bar. “You know I could go for a lemon drop actually.”
He smirked and set the list down, a waiter coming by. He ordered a gin and tonic for himself while you got your cocktail, Jensen breaking off part of a breadstick from the basket.
“Bread’s good,” he said with his mouth full.
“So. Ackles,” you said, picking up a piece and tearing off a chunk with your teeth. He stared and started to laugh to himself. “Ah, there’s my sweet guy.”
“Thought you were gonna say boyfriend for a second.”
“This is our second official date,” you said. “So. Boyfriend.”
“Yes girlfriend?” he chuckled.
“What’s an appetizer look like in a place like this? Like a tiny cube of cheese with some dressing they’re gonna charge twenty bucks for or something like that?”
“You’re goofy,” he said, a big smile stuck on his face. “Uh, they probably have something like that. There’s normally some kind of bread olive oil bowl option.”
“Fancy people eat like a starving college student apparently,” you said. He tried to hide his laugh as your waiter brought over the drinks and a pair of menus. “Excuse me but can you recommend an appetizer? We’re both new to town and are wondering what you think is a good choice.”
“You can’t go wrong with our sourdough and seasoned oil dipping sauce,” he said. You glanced at Jensen and smiled. “The artichoke spinach dip and tartar crackers are also quite lovely.”
“Do you have anything with a little more substance? We’re quite starving,” said Jensen.
“The fried calamari and crab cake poppers combo is a great option,” he said.
“What’s calamari?” you asked.
“Squid, miss,” said the waiter.
“We’ll have that combo,” said Jensen.
“Perfect. I’ll put that in and be back shortly to get your dinner orders,” he said. He took off and you made a face at Jensen.
“Squid?” you asked.
“It’s fried. Trust me, it’s pretty good,” he said. “I could go for a good steak. You see a filet on here yet?”
“Uh,” you said, eyes scanning the page and seeing most everything was something you’d never heard of.
“There it is,” he said. “I’m getting that and scalloped potatoes. See anything you want to try?”
“Uh, why does half of this seem like it’s a foreign language to me?” you asked. Jensen looked at his menu and chuckled.
“That would be because it’s in French. We’re in Canada and this is a french restaurant.”
“Oh. Gotcha,” you said. He got up and leaned over the back of your chair, glancing at the page.
“These are soups and salads,” he said, pointing near the top. “Sandwiches. Pasta. Main dishes down here.”
“Uh, maybe pasta?” you said. He knelt down and read off the dishes to you one by one, your waiter returning by the time he was just finishing.
“Anything I can assist you with?” he asked.
“I’ll have the fettuccine alfredo with chicken please,” you said, handing the menu to him, Jensen returning to his seat.
“Face principale?” he asked. You stared at Jensen and he smiled.
“She doesn’t speak French,” said Jensen.
“My apologies miss. What would you like for your main side dish?” asked the waiter. “Steamed vegetables, scalloped potatoes, lobster bisque-”
“I’ll have the vegetables,” you said. Jensen ordered and the waiter went to get your appetizer, a sad smile on his face.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t think twice about the French thing.”
“Kinda hot that you know French,” you said. “I should try to learn it if we’re gonna be up here for a few months.”
“I’m an idiot and I learned it so you’ll do just fine picking it up,” he said.
“So where’d you learn in the first place?”
“I’m stuffed,” you said, plopping your napkin from your lap onto the table awhile later. Jensen took the last bite of the piece of mouse pie, licking his lips as he finished. “This might have been the best alfredo I’ve ever had.”
“I enjoyed it. Mostly I enjoyed listening to you talk,” he said. You blushed and looked away, Jensen letting out a small hum. “It’s funny. Doesn’t really feel like just a second date, does it.”
“No, not really,” you said. “I guess that’s what happens when you’re friends first.”
“Well I definitely like being friends with you,” he said.
“Me too, Jensen.”
“Want to get out of here?” he asked. You smiled and nodded, the two of you outside a few minutes later wrapped up in your coats. Your feet were cold in just your heels, Jensen’s arm wrapping around your waist when you almost slipped more than once. It was slow going back to the car, especially when it started to snow lightly.
“You know, that dress would still look hot with winter boots,” he chuckled.
“Sorry,” you said.
“No apology necessary. I got freaking dress shoes on and my feet are cold. I can’t imagine how you’re holding up,” he said.
“The perils of being a woman,” you said.
“Well, no need to impress me is all I’m saying. I ain’t looking at your feet anyways,” he said.
“Oh well in that case I’ll wear some nice baggy sweats next date.”
“Please do,” he said.
“You really don’t care, do you.”
“I think you look beautiful tonight. But I think you look beautiful every night. You did your hair and makeup and this is stunning, don’t get me wrong. But she’s not more beautiful than the girl at home with hair tossed up all messy walking around in oversized shirts and leggings. It’s like flowers. Both are pretty but one isn’t more pretty than the other.”
“Where the fuck did I find you?”
“At my house,” he chuckled. You whacked his arm and leaned your head on his shoulder. “Almost back to the car. I’ll blast the heat for us when we’re in there.”
“Thanks Jensen.”
“Thank you for the date, honey. I mean it. We’ll do it again sometime. Promise.”
Saturday Night
“Your boyfriend seems pissed,” said Brandon. You sipped up the last of your beer, glancing over to the bar where Jensen was tapping his finger.
“He’s fine,” you said. “So any good parks around the west side of town?”
“Center Grove is always my choice. Good playground, nice area, cops routinely are around. Parking can kinda be a bitch sometimes but it’s worth it in my opinion. My kids love it.”
“You’ve been their nanny for five years you said?”
“Mhm,” he said, knocking back the last of his drink. “Shawn’s mom is their mom’s best friend.”
“Oh. So you had an in already.”
“You know long term gigs are the way to go in this job,” he said. “Not too many American girls come up here. Your accent is cute.”
“Is it, eh?” you chuckled.
“Like I’ve never heard that one before,” he said, Jensen walking back with two beers and a clenched jaw.
“You okay?” you asked as he sat it down in front of you.
“I’m fine,” he said, taking a long sip. Brandon slid off his seat and made a face.
“I need a refill anyways. Nice meeting you Y/N. We gotta hang some time,” he said as he walked away.
“For sure,” you said, Jensen rolling his eyes behind his back. “Jensen what’s going on?”
“Nothing,” he said.
“Well you obviously have a problem with Brandon.”
“I don’t have a problem with him. I have a problem with my girlfriend flirting with another guy.”
“I was not flirting. I’m trying to make new friends. It was your idea to come to this thing tonight anyways.”
“Whatever,” he scoffed.
“Excuse me?”
“In case I wasn’t clear, I’m not the kind of guy where I’m okay with you dating multiple people at once. I don’t get that not exclusive shit.”
“I’m with you and only you. I was being nice. Geez, let’s just go,” you said. You got up and pulled your coat on, bumping into a guy on the way out. He turned and apologized, staring at you a little long.
“Y/N?” he asked, a big smile on his face. “My Y/N?”
“Dad?” you said, his face much older looking than you remembered but his eyes still the same.
“Dad?” said Jensen. You brushed past your dad and outside, Jensen hot on your heels.
“Y/N,” your dad said as he left the bar.
“Stay away from me,” you said. “Jensen I want to go home right now.”
“What-”
“Right fucking now!”
He held up his hands and you walked around the block to the car, getting inside and Jensen taking off.
“So your dad’s alive huh,” he said. You stared out the dark window with crossed arms. “So is everything I know about you bullshit?”
“What?”
“Is literally anything you’ve ever told me true? Your dad obviously didn’t die when you were a kid. All those late night talks about family and shit, you just like to fuck with people or something?”
“I was not flirting with Brandon you asshole. You didn’t need to know my whole life story the second I meet you.”
“Oh. Okay. Just your fake life story then, huh?” he said. You shook your head as he got stuck at a red light. “If I can’t trust you, I can’t employ you let alone date you.”
“Whatever,” you said. He drove in silence until you were out of the city, going along quieter roads. You were close to the house when he suddenly turned right towards the local park and stopped in the lot, putting the car in park. He touched your arm and you turned, Jensen leaning over and kissing you roughly, far more roughly than you thought he was capable of. You blinked when he pulled back, Jensen looking you up and down.
“He won’t hurt you.”
“What?”
“Did he walk out on you and your mom?” he asked. “You told him to stay away from you. Sort of shouted it at him. Maybe you lied but maybe...I’m sorry I got jealous of Brandon. I’m still scared and I think you’re still scared too and that’s okay. If you lied about your dad, I’m gonna trust you have a good reason for it. I’m sorry for what I said. I trust you and I don’t want to know what my life is like without you in it.”
“It’s okay,” you said quietly. “I forgive you.”
“You don’t have to tell me what happened,” he said. “We can just go home, okay?”
“Why’d you pull over?”
“Because I knew I didn’t mean it and I knew I overreacted. I said I’d mess up when we started. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this. I’m 42 with three kids. Brandon is thirty and young and stronger than I am and can go out to the bar whenever he wants. You have options. You don’t have to settle for me.”
“If I’d wanted to settle, I’d have married my ex. What I wanted was the guy that forgives me for not telling him the whole story cause I’m not ready to say it. I want the guy that makes me happy and feel like I have a teenage crush but it’s deeper than that. You’re not the settle for option, Jensen. Why don’t you get that?”
“The last time I felt like this, I married the girl,” he said quietly. “That didn’t turn out so well.”
“You didn’t get the time you deserved with her. It doesn’t mean it ended badly. You loved her and she knew it. She wants you to be happy again, whether it’s me or somebody else.”
“See? That’s the shit that tells me...it tells me to keep falling for you. I’m so sorry for how I acted tonight.”
“I lied about my dad and not a little white one either,” you said with a nod. You turned away and felt his hand on your cheek. “So much of what I told you was a lie.”
“You don’t have to tell me the truth right now, Y/N.” He stroked your cheek and you glanced over, meeting his soft green eyes.
“My mom died giving birth to me,” you said, Jensen nodding. “He hated me for it. Hated me. He would hurt me when I was a toddler. When I was four he started doing...other things.”
“Four?” he breathed out.
“I didn’t know it wasn’t normal. Not until I started school. I was scared though so I never said anything. One of my friends mom’s realized what was going on when I was over playing one day. He went away and lost custody. I went into foster care briefly and got adopted when I was eight. Single mom who’d lost her husband young. That’s my mom. She was a kind person. Ray was always good to her and to me. But I asked him not to adopt me after she was gone and he knew it was because I was still scared of a dad again. Being a nanny, I’ve met fathers that look at me and I just know what was going through their head. I reported him and kinda fucked up their family situation but-”
“That was the right thing to do,” he said.
“I know it was. I’ve just...I’ve had more than one guy and even a woman walk in on me changing or into my bathroom and it’s like, she’s just the help, nobody cares. They don’t touch so it’s like...what can I even do? Then my house before this one, the guy tried getting in my shower with me and I shoved him and he broke his arm and I just don’t understand why so many people think I’m just a piece of meat. Even my ex never got why it bothered me so much. They didn’t touch me so what was wrong with it? He just didn’t get it. He would get mad if I wasn’t in the mood for sex. Nobody ever fucking gets it except you who I lied to and pissed off tonight and without a word of an explanation why, you say you won’t let somebody hurt me. Do you get why you’re the opposite of fucking settling Jensen?”
“I won’t hurt you.”
“I know you won’t Jensen.”
“How?”
“Because you’re a good person. You’re so gentle and kind. I know you’re strong and tough but I see it everyday. You should never be worried about how your kids will turn out. If they are half as good as you are they’ll be fucking great people. Your daughters aren’t gonna put up with shit and your son is gonna be kind to everyone and say fuck you to the toxic guys out there. I can already tell the kind of person you are through them and it’s a good one. A really good one.”
“I’m not the only good person in their lives,” he said. You sniffled and looked down, Jensen’s hand sliding under your chin and tilting it up. “You don’t have to apologize for not telling me all of that. Never apologize for not telling me that. Okay?”
“I never told anyone about…the other stuff,” you said, wanting to look down but Jensen’s hand holding your chin up.
“You have nothing to be embarrassed about. I’m sorry it took you so long to find people that would protect you.”
“You mean…” He nodded and dropped his hand away, running it over your head. “You’re not gonna like, go back and kick his ass are you?”
“Want me to? I’m very tempted at the moment,” he said.
“I just want to go home. I could use one of those hugs right now.”
“Do you want to stay with me tonight? Just to stay, nothing more.” You nodded and he kissed your forehead, a tiny smile crossing your face. Ten minutes later you were home and the babysitter was gone, Jensen pulling you into his room next to yours. You blew your nose in his bathroom and washed off your face, lifting your head to find a pair of your pajama shorts and one of his shirts on the vanity beside you. He smiled as he ducked out, leaving you to change. You let your hair down and took off your bra before you walked out and saw his blanket on the opposite side of the bed. “Warm enough?”
You spun around as he walked inside and you nodded, Jensen pulling you into a hug.
“I’m sorry for how I was at the bar,” you said.
“I was the one that overreacted, not you,” he said. You felt goosebumps on your arms and he pulled away to turn up the heat, nodding over to the bed. The covers were flung back and you climbed underneath, Jensen getting in on his side. His arm wrapped over your waist and pulled your chest close to his, face only inches away. “You don’t have to worry about him anymore. No one will hurt you again. I promise.”
You moved closer to him, resting your forehead against his.
“Remember last Saturday when we were on the trampoline and you talked about those safety nets,” you said.
“Yes, I do.”
“You’re a really good net,” you said softly.
“So are you,” he murmured. He kissed the tip of your nose and you shut your eyes. “What’d you want to be when you were little?”
“A princess,” you said. He chuckled and you smiled. “I wanted a prince to come take me away and everything would be just fine.”
“Really?”
“Princesses were always happy at the end of the movie,” you said. “They got the boy and they were happy. Then I grew up and prince charming doesn’t exist.”
“Cause you’re not a damsel in distress. You didn’t need the prince to save you.”
“But the prince would have made life so much easier.”
“I’m partial to badass princesses myself,” he said. You opened your eyes and he was smiling.
“I’ve never noticed your freckles before.”
“They come out more when I spend some time in the sun.” You moved a hand up and traced under his eye, Jensen nuzzling into his pillow. “Make you a deal. If the badass princess saves me, the scared prince will save her too.”
“Okay,” you said. You kissed him lazily, Jensen smiling through it.
“Do you want to be a nanny forever?”
“Not forever. It’s an easy way to feel like you have a family when you don’t.”
“Now you do,” he said.
“Jensen you don’t know if this will work out.”
“I do and you do and we’ll take it slow anyways,” he said. “Which is why I’m asking do you want to be a nanny forever.”
“Why?”
“Because maybe someday I won’t need one,” he said.
“I thought about being an elementary school teacher when I was eighteen for a hot second.”
“You did? You’d be amazing.”
“Pay in Texas is crap though. I make more as a nanny.”
“If money wasn’t an issue though, would you want to be a teacher still?”
“Anything at all?” you asked, Jensen nodding, nose brushed against yours. “Stay here. I’ll be right back.”
“You okay?” he asked, reluctantly letting you out of bed.
“I’m good. I want to show you something,” you said. You slipped out of the room and down the hall to the playroom, picking up a book. Jensen was sat up in bed when you returned and crawled under the covers. You handed him the book and he smiled.
“I don’t remember buying this,” he said, flipping it over. “There’s no serial code on it.”
“You can’t buy it. I wrote a children’s book and printed a few copies for myself,” you said.
“You wrote a book?” he asked, flipping through it. “Did you draw this?”
“Yeah,” you said, Jensen staring at you. “I don’t know if it’s any good. I never tried publishing it.”
“You want to write children’s books, don’t you?” he said, starting to read the story.
“I have a number of them written out. I would make up the stories for kids at bedtime and decided to write them down. It’s kinda like whinnie the poo, that age group, you know? Same group of characters but different stories,” you said.
“These are adorable,” he said, turning another page. You were quiet while he read through for a few minutes, Jensen smiling when he shut the book. “I’ve never read a children’s book where they deal with the loss of a parent.”
“The kids really like it,” you said.
“You should publish this. Seriously. It’s cute and I’m a grown ass man and it made me feel better about Dee.”
“It’s just a story,” you said, rubbing the back of your neck.
“I make stories for a living. This whole place would fall apart without stories. This is good. You should consider trying to get it published.”
“Maybe if that nanny job doesn’t work out I will,” you said.
“Do you mind if I keep this?” he asked.
“Not at all. I gave it to JJ in the first place.”
“Thanks. I want to read this to the twins tomorrow,” he said. He set it on the nightstand and slid back down, pulling you with him. “Why’d the mom fox die in the story? I would have expected the dad wolf considering…”
“Wish fulfillment for a nice father,” you said. “Plus I like drawing the wolf.”
“I like him. He’s fluffy,” chuckled Jensen. “Is that why you asked if I carry a picture of my kids when we met?”
“I’m done with asshole parents. If they treat their kids like shit they sure as hell aren’t gonna treat me any better. You seemed like a good guy. Good guys tend to do that kind of thing.”
“I’m not always good.”
“Yeah, you are,” you said. You shut your eyes and nuzzled close to him, Jensen letting out a soft hum. “You okay? With me being here.”
“Very. Feeling better after everything that happened?”
“Mhm,” you said. “I’m still sorry I lied to you.”
“Did you ever lie about your mom?” he asked. “I mean aside from the fact she adopted you, did you lie about her?”
“No.”
“Then you didn’t lie, not really. I’m sorry it came out like that. You should have been able to tell me in your own time.”
“You still would have been angry,” you said.
“I still would have come to my senses too. I’m not perfect. I never was.”
“I don’t want someone perfect,” you said. Your head rested against his chest and you let out a soft sigh.
“Goodnight, Y/N,” he said. He kissed the top of your head and tucked it under his chin, adjusting the blankets once before he stilled.
“Goodnight, Jensen.”

The Dream of a Normal Life
by @cornytyrannosaurus
The fresh breeze of the Norwest lands scurred between the mountains, between the hills, beneath the trees, until it reached the nostrils of a young man inside a van which was stationed atop a hillside.
He breathed deep, filling his tired lungs with the soft breeze and all the scents it brought from every corner of the undying forest. His always hurried mind took this moment of serenity to fuel itself back to be awake, he already processing within his blurred thoughts all the duties of the day.
Mile 82, 54. Mile 21, 12 up to date. We go downhill until…
Then he opened his eyes, and the list stopped. He saw her, gently snoring in her sleep, her hands improvising a pillow. He smiled, recalling how annoying she could get when her hands felt sore; but what to do about it? She looked just too adorable right now to be awoken just for the sake of a mere slumbering formality. Her neon-stained, raggedy hair fitted with her purple sleeveless shirt, the only piece of cloth she was wearing in her sleep. He rolled his eyes down to her nude legs, remembering with heated fondness how much he made her to feel loved last night. Maybe he should put the blanket over such gorgeous sight, he thought. Unfortunate, but necessary.
Heavily, he put the brown blanket over her underside, to stop at her slightly inflated belly. His eyebrows dropped, reminding the main why of her needing to feel loved last night. She was having one of those delicate hormonal moments, a thing he took years to get accustomed and now was proving itself really useful during these uncertain times.
Uncertain, never better though.
He gave a quick kiss on her forehead, rolled his body around in search of his clothes, and hurriedly put his pants on.
He opened the backdoors, sat at the edge of the white van they lived in now, and took a long look at the immediate surroundings.
The gigantic mountains came across his sight like an unfathomable Leviathan welcoming his life with its majestic shape. Around him and all across the hillside, countless trees of all shapes and sizes covered the outline of horizon like a fortress for their tiny kingdom of intimacy and solitude. What he could give for them to have a tiny home where to start a family at a place like this, he could not tell but was certain in it.
Then he heard the growls coming from the trees, and he recalled they were just passing by.
A couple of man-sized hoofed monstrosities ran wild from between the depths of the forest, galloping over the concrete and disappearing behind another line of old pine trees. Their countless mouths filled with human-like crooked teeth, placed all across their headless, dark furry bodies, screeched continuously as they waved their long rat-like black tails at the fresh airs of the of morning.
Aaaaaaw f*ck.
Tagging eldritch creatures in a national park wasn’t precisely his dream job, but was quite within the spectrum of skills of the Mystery Twins, and as these non-euclidean beasts began to reproduce, they found themselves at a chance of getting a good source of income at the aftermath of events he didn’t want to remember right now.
If only his mind could listen to him to stop rerunning the horrible memory of that day.
Before sorrow had the chance to overtake his heart, he felt the warm of a pair of arms circling his tummy, a pair of legs caressing his, and a slightly inflated belly gently pressing his back. He smiled in relief; he hadn’t figured yet how she was able to slip across surfaces.
“Good morning, Dipdop” she murmured in his ear with seductive tone.
“’Morning, Mabes” he said back, turning his head to kiss her cheek, and then her lips, to go back to look at the hill.
“Why are yah awake so early? I wanted to spoon yah” She asked, squishing his belly with her arms”
“Dunno, just… wanted to start earlier today” He said with slow content.
“Before breakfast? You gotta be kiddin’ me” she said with pretended anger.
“You’ll never let me to skip it, will you?” He mustered with a grin.
“Nope, I won’t” She asserted. “Besides…” she said, as she squished her legs around his.
“Besides?”
“I’m still just in my shirt” she whispered at his ear. His grin grew bigger, as his sister slipped back from where she came and he rolled around to follow her.
“But what about the breakfast?” He asked with fake indignation.
“First this breakfast, then food breakfast”
“Mhmm, I like the plan…” He said as he closed the van’s door behind him.
It wasn’t the most conventional form of Love, nor the beginning of a normal life. But it was theirs to live , and they loved it anyway.
At least there, away from the unsuspecting and prejudiced eyes of the world, they were free.
If only the world could know the pain it could cause.
- Six months ago…
Mabel Pines had endured many terrifying moments in her life. When Dipper broke his leg at their kickboxing practice, when she was at the hands of a gigantic childish mechanoid, when her brother was about to be devoured by a living corpse, when she was about to be erased from existence by a extradimensional pyramid god, when she got lost in that trip to the unknown… but these immediate moments were heaving in her stomach more than any of that. Maybe it was because those moments were a little far in her memory, or because her resistance to cringe was absolutely superior to her brother’s. Or maybe it was because this time, the impending threat came from within her very own family.
And now she was frozen in place inside the van, watching how Dipper stood over the grass of the family home, his forehead bleeding and his face turning to their parents, his shape contrasted between the darkness of the night and the porch’s lamp.
Maybe they weren’t as angry and freaked out as they were an hour ago, but their resolution wasn’t something they were willing to accept. Right now, Mason “Dipper” Pines was standing against the destruction of his incoming family.
“Dipper, please… be reasonable. There is no way out of this” His father reassured, trying to appeal to his intellect, trying to undo the damage of the wound he had done to his own son. But Dipper had already cried, so the wound would stay a long time.
“No” Dipper pronounced in crackly voice.
His mother approached to him a couple of steps more, heartbroken for the glance of their own children at them. “Dipper, you’re not in your right mind, you don’t-”
“No, Mom!” Dipper yelled high. “We-we tried, we really really tried. But it didn’t matter how much we tried, how much we were honest with you. You didn’t listen, and you are still not listening. You look at us like if we were just a couple of f*cking monsters!”
“Dipper… You won’t be able to live a normal life with Mabel” His father told with serious tune. Again, they weren’t listening; again, they were mistaking their love for another crooked urge they needed to repress to have fulfilling lives. If only they knew.
“Well.. maybe we don’t want one!” Dipper finally shouted, turning around to walk aimlessly to his van.
Their parents only watched impotent how their beloved children drove away from home, and away from their lives…
“Mhm… so… I’ll want a French-Fry-Fantasy and a Slurpy Surprise” the young woman finally chose her meal options from between the short menu in the grease-stained paper sheet. It was kind of her personal politics about road restaurants to “choose the weirdest dishes in the menu or don’t say yourself worthy of a road trip”. The waitress with curly black hair and more freckles than space in the face to have them, could read for her bun hairstyle, her capri pants and her lots of laces and bracelets on her arms, that she was the extroverted and adventurous of them.
“I’ll want a pancake plate and a coffee, thanks” the man said instead. Judging by the old flannel coat and his black pants, he was the quiet one. The young waitress tried not to smile too much at the enormous contrast between their breakfast options, pondering in her mind how so alike persons could have such starkly different personalities. Anyhow, they made such a lovely couple, one of those who brighten the day of a service worker doomed to attend uncourteous people the rest of the day just like she was.
“Oh right, so a coffee cup, a Slurpy Surprise, a pancake plate and a French-Fry-Fantasy” The waitress repeated as the couple at the table nodded in agreement. “Ok, your order will be done in 10; anything else?”
“Nope, that’s all; thanks” he answered with kind tone.
“Okie dokie” The waitress said. “Oh! And congrats for your baby!” The waitress said before to leave.
“Owww thank you so much!” she said in joyful tune, making the waitress to enlarge her smile as she left to attend the order.
The young woman turned her attention back to her brother, moving over her seat with impatient joy. It was one of those days where the world seemed that friendly at them; after an inconceivable quantity of bad days in between, both had learned to appreciate them.
“Gosh I’m so hungry!” she exclaimed, enthusiastic at the edge of childishness.
“Yeaaah I kinda doubt ten minutes will be enough for your order” he asserted, resting his elbows on the table, looking out the window for a moment.
“Ooh, hush you there, bro-man! Have a little of faith in these peoples; they’re experts!” she dismissed.
“Experts in road restaurant dishes?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yep, I’m sure they attend to a special college for restaurant workers and stuff” she said with erudite-like pride.
“I did!” the old cook behind the bar yelled at their table with a stoic smile, raising his spatula. Maybe they were talking too high for a public place, but as they were currently the only customers it did not seem like it mattered at first. He usually would beg for her to slow down a little, due to the obvious need for them to conceal their true identities, but given the events of last night, he was simply happy to see her so free and being herself.
“You see? Road restaurant experts” She finally asserted as she raised her arms in a gesture of obviousness.
“Ok, I’ll eat my words along my pancakes” Dipper commented with an ironical smile.
“Yes you will, you will” She asserted, bopping his nose with the tip of her finger. Suddenly, she got aware the sorrow behind her brother’s eyes, and she worried. “What’s up, Dip?”
He paused for a couple of seconds in which his always hurried mind deliberated. She didn’t like unnecessary dramas, but she also liked him to be honest, as they had committed themselves to be. So after that instant that felt eternal, he spoke.
“Dunno, kinda… I know you’ll just tell me it was some kind of hormone rush or whatever but… I really…”
“Hey, it’s ok, Dip” she interrupted him, taking his hands with hers over the table. “I guess I was just… scared about the call Mom and Dad made and…”. For a moment, she thought she could express better by enacting, so she leaned across the space between them to rob him a deep kiss, to just after returning to her seat. “I want this, Dipper. I want all of this” She said, her eyes getting moisty.
“We’re just that crazy, aren’t we?” he asked with a moved smile. She was that fantastic and brave he couldn’t contain his love for her.
“And I couldn’t be happier for it” She asserted. He raised his hand to caress her cheek. Maybe it was the magical pregnacy hormones he had heard about in documentaries, or the strange and unnamed dimensions of their mutual love reacting again for a full catharsis potential, but she looked especially beautiful this morning, and (as energetically as he showed how much he loved her earlier at the van) she deserved to feel it. “To heck with a normal life” she cited from him as both just stared each other until the dishes were ready.
- Six months ago…
Dipper was quiet, as he had been all the way the long long time of driving lasted until the gas ran out near San Francisco Bay. He hadn’t said a word, nor even tried to clean his face of the blood; anyone with no idea of what really happened could have thought he was just coming out from a horror scene.
The unnerving silence was the exact kind Mabel recognized perfectly; she knew exactly what he was thinking and why he was thinking it. The waves of fear and regret and self-hatred and so many other things too deep to have a name. She let him have his inner battle, because Dipper Pines was the man of resolutions; but at some point she got aware he was just self-loathing again. Self-loathing for loving his sister in unexpected and strange ways she also felt. Self-loathing for stripping her dreams away just because he said he wanted to be with her and promising they would fight together whatever it would take. Self-loathing about the fact he actually accomplished his promise and now faced the true, palpable consequences of not having a plan this time. If he only had a plan, if he only…
“Dipper!” Mabel yelled at him, and he raised the head to look at her. His wound had closed enough for his blood over his face to dry a little, but the scar was still cutting his birthmark at half.
“I…”
“No. Don’t you ever dare to say you’re sorry about this. And you know what? It’s because this is not your fault, Dipper!”
“Bu-“
“But nothing, Dipper! It was Dad the one who punched you, it was Mom the one who pushed me, it was them the ones who wanted to… to wanted to…”; Mabel couldn’t even pronounce the fact that her own parents wanted to kill their unborn grandchild. “This is the part where I get all serious and say to you: We did everything we could. It didn’t work, eh? Well, we just move on and keep going forward! Because we have each other, just like we always had!” Mabel said, half crying, half smiling. Dipper smiled as well, because he knew it was true. He had saved the universe (now more than once), living in it was the least of the problems if they were that powerful together. At least, as powerful as their love was.
“To heck with a normal life” He said with trembling lips as they approached each other and kissed fiercely. Young? For sure. Inexperienced? As every young adult. Willing to face the full grasp of all the risks, the current perils, and unexpected tangents of becoming a wandering couple of roadside adventurers? As few souls in the whole Creation were.
-
It had been a tiring day. Some unseen thing had tried to eat his leg; some random stone had pierced a tire and they had to wait until a car stopped to help them and the muscled father of the family aided them to change the tire; they had tagged 328 adults and 58 younglings within the 36 nests across 28 hectares. Should they worry about the spreading of the hairy Lovecraftian monstrosities any further? Maybe, but first they should get some profit out of it. Now they were on their way to the next town, way far along the road.
For moments, they held hands together, staying in silence. For moments, Dipper changed the gear lever. For moments, they stopped so she could pee, as unceremonious as it was; pregnancy issues, she could recall very well. But they were in their way, announced by the gorgeousness of the sunset, sealed between unsaid promises coming from silent smiles. For moments, they talked as well.
“What are we gonna call our baby, Dips?” She interrupted the sound of the radio ballad songs.
“Hadn’t we agreed we were going to wait to know what our baby is to suggest names?”
“I knoooooow but I really wanna start having this solitary baby tummy-mommy chatter and I can’t just keep calling our baby ‘unnamed baby in fabrication’”.
He laughed wholeheartedly, as only she could make him laugh.
“Ok then, what if it’s a boy”.
“Weeeeeell I was thinking about Bob, or Steve, or Ronan!” She said in joy.
“Ronan? Heck no, that sounds too much. What about Connor?”
“Mhmm, I like Connor” she nodded. “Ok, so what if it’s a girl”
“Well, I kind of thought about Madeline, or Samantha, or Cassiopeia!”
“Do you really want to call our baby girl like a Greek tragedy?” she dismissed with a defiant smile.
“Ok ok, maybe it’s kinda preposterous. That’s a hard choice, Mabes”
“What about Mabel 2.0? Like Grenda!”
“I still want to figure out how names with numbers are allowed, by the way” he asserted.
“Eh, we’ll know when we reach New Jersey”
He smiled with hope. It was a still-in-process plan, but it was something they could have for sure. That, if the thing with the eldritch furry monsters didn’t grow for them to having to change it. They were going to land at New Jersey, where the grunkles would reach in some months to help them to acquire the old pawn shop they once lived in. It was a plan, and that’s the only thing they needed to know as they approached their destiny.
“We’ll make it, Dips” She reassured with a gentle glance.
“I know” He said back, as they drove deep within the endless road. Life was theirs to live, and that was everything that mattered.

She’s Beautiful
Bill Hader x (F) Reader
Requested By: @missemilygilmore
Warnings: Language
Tumblr media
“Come on, I’ll help find the book you need to read for school but then you three can pick out ones you like” Bill opens the door to the bookstore for his girls as they immediately went to the kids section.
Bill laughs a bit slowly catching up as he stops halfway through getting distracted by a woman he spotted at the end of the isle. Only a glance until his oldest Hannah called out for him.
“I’m coming Hannah” he replies to the calling before watching her leave his sight.
“DAD”
“Ok! Sorry sorry” Bill quickly goes to help his daughter.
After a bit of searching, he was stumped. Bill continued to look for the book Hannah needed and when he was going to look for the woman he spotted for help. He didn’t get far only to notice her helping his youngest.
“It’s a heavy book, you sure you can carry it?”
“Yeah!” Hayley smiles as Y/N carefully handed it but kept a hold when she watched the little one struggle.
“Okay okay, how about you sit down and then I’ll hand it to you?” Y/N smiles watching her nod as she sat down on one of the bean bags they have in the kids section of the library.
Y/N carefully placed it in her lap, smiling at how excited the little one got to look into the book.
“Um excuse me?”
“Yeah?” Y/N looks up smiling at Bill as he already forgot what he was going to ask. “Uh...need help finding something?”
“Oh! Oh. Yeah. I do...well my daughter does” Bill points to Hannah as she was with Harper who was helping her the best she can.
Y/N smiles looking at the two girls before the little one right beside them.
“Are they all yours?”
“Yeah”
“Every day must be an adventure then” Y/N smiles admiring the fact that he took the time to go to the library with his girls instead of a going to a bookstore and instantly finding the things he needs. At least she knows he’s going to have to come back. “Your little one here may be going home with a very heavy book. So fair warning” she laughs a bit as does Bill.
Bill hasn’t stopped looking at her beautiful E/C eyes and the gorgeous smile she has had on since they’ve been there.
“Sorry, I got distracted...what was the book you needed?”
“Oh right...” Bill took out his phone and showed Y/N the one they’re looking for.
“I’ll go see if it hasn’t been checked out” Y/N smiles leaving them for a second to go find it.
“She’s beautiful...”
“What daddy?”
“Sorry. Distracted...” Bill smiles sitting beside Hayley looking at the boom she had in her lap. “Do you even understand what some of it is saying?”
“It’s most...mostly a picture book daddy”
“Okay” He smiles watching her point at the things she likes.
When Hayley finished with the book and what she wanted to see...she gave it to Bill to put away. Bill got up putting away the book accidentally bumping into another causing it to fall but before it hit the ground, Y/N came at the right time catching it before it hit the floor.
“Wow. You’re quick”
“Cant damage the goods” Y/N smiles putting it away before handing Bill the book he was looking for his daughter.
“Oh thank god”
“You’re lucky someone checked it in yesterday. Didn’t get the time to put them away...but here” she smiles as Bill happily took the book.
“Thank you”
“Of course, just holler if you need anything else” Y/N smiles leaving him to go do the rest of her work.
Bill stood there watching her go as Hannah immediately took the book from his hands happily leaving him to stand there a little while longer.
“Hannah, here” Bill handed her the book she was looking for before going to look for other books with her sisters. “Girls stay here I’m...going to look for something”
“Okay daddy”
“Okie”
“We’ll be here daddy”
Bill left after the reassurance as he didn’t want to come off weird to Y/N. Didn’t even get her name and he personally thought they were hitting it off.
“Looking for me, Mr. Hader?”
Jesus. Bill’s body retracted getting caught off guard by Y/N as she leaned against her book cart.
“Oh”
“Huh?”
“I’m sorry, that was weird or me...”
“No no. Just—“
“Okay I’ll just—“ Y/N laughs nervously. “You looked familiar so I looked it up to confirm. You’re Bill Hader”
“Yeah haha, that’s me” Bill smiles catching onto the nervous gestures Y/N made. “Sorry. It’s weird”
“No? Well. Okay I gotta ask...you got the money. Why...come to a library when you can buy the books?”
“I prefer...going to the library.”
If I didn’t come I wouldn’t have met you
“The experience, hm?” Y/N gave off that radiant smile making Bill’s heart flip. “Well that’s sweet. To bring your kids and help them”
“Well you helped. Greatly” Bill smiles as Y/N felt her face heat up a bit causing a tiny of pink to rise on her cheeks. She looked away pushing her hair out of her face as she still had that smile on. “So uh. My kids are occupied...need help? I haven’t seen another librarian to help around”
“That’s because we don’t get a lot of people...let alone famous actors” Y/N smiles. “It’s a nice experience, you don’t have to worry about people pestering you for pictures”
“You don’t want one?” Bill jokes with a smile as Y/N laughs.
“I’m talking to you. That’s worth more than a photo”
She’s...amazing
“So, about helping?”
“You can honestly just follow me and help me reach the higher shelves so I don’t have to get the ladder”
“Sounds good to me” Bill follows Y/N down the fiction isle first.
Every time Y/N needed a book back on the top shelf, she handed Bill the book and pointed to the spot it needs to be in. This happened for every isle she knew she’d need help reaching. When they stood in the documentary section, Bill leaned against the cart accidentally pushing it and having him fall on his ass. Y/N snorted before going into a whole uproar of laughter, thankful the cart didn’t his anybody and he didn’t hit his head.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah just”
“Didn’t think that the stopper wasn’t placed” Y/N smiles holding her hand out as he took it happily.
The second he was pulled up, the two were surprisingly close and they both were dumbfounded for a split second. Y/N took a step back for a second collecting herself.
“I didn’t catch your name”
“Y/N, sorry for not saying it earlier”
“No need to apologize. It’s a beautiful name” Bill smiles and before any of them can grow the nerve to ask the other out. They were happily interrupted by Bill’s kids.
“Daddy can we go?”
“We got what we wanted”
“Okay...well that’s my cue” Bill smiles a little upset.
“I can ring you guys up. Get you a library card” Y/N smiles holding her hands out to take the books they want/need.
After getting them set up, Y/N put the card in each book after marking their out date. She handed Bill the library card before giving the books to his two oldest watching Bill put the card away picking his youngest Hayley up. The two shared an exchange before-
“Well. I’ll see you again” Y/N smiles as Bill nods before leaving with his kids.
Y/N watches them go while picking up the adjustable stamp smiling to herself. She laughs a bit before setting it down and going to finish the last of her shift.
Bill dropped off his daughters at their mother’s before coming home and checking the card again suddenly realizing.
Thinking it was a one time ordeal...
Y/N froze in front of the library feeling her heart start pounding the second she locked eyes with Bill. Bill had drive as fast as he could all the way back to the library so he could meet up with her.
“Um”
“Weird?”
“No” She smiles to reassure as she started blushing when Bill showed her the car with her smudged number stamped on it. “Thank god you’re not blind”
“Yeah just. It’s not that eligible” Bill laughs a bit making Y/N as well but also feel a bit embarrassed. “Anyway...I didn’t want to ask you over texts I wanted to do it in person”
“Do what...?” Acting stupid.
“Do you want to go out with me sometime?”
Y/N smiles bigger than ever as she was extremely happy to hear that coming from him. Bill inched closer as she gave off a small giggle before resting her hands in his chest to give them the space.
“I’d love to”
“Tonight?”
“Oh Bill, tonight I’d like to go home and get excited that a handsome guy like yourself asked little ol’ me out on a date. But the next time you come over? And help me reach the top shelves to put the classics back...you can take me out anywhere after” Y/N smiles pulling her hands away.
“You...are adorable. Y’know that?”
“I do now”

“Arc… Arc… vs Arc… and Nikos… ugh… why are there three of you?”  The combat professor scratched his head as he stared at the names on the board.  “Whatever…”
Jaune did not like where this was going, they had only been here for a few weeks but he’d seen just how good Pyrrha was.  Okay, well he could tell right away after her first fight with Nora.  He just kind of hoped they’d be together… ‘Not together together!  Just on the same team… right that’s what I meant!’  Yep he definitely didn’t think she was super darn awesome, or really pretty, or super badass or anything like that!  He also didn’t notice her well toned arms and legs when they were training, nope!  He’d never pay attention to things like that.
Of course… he couldn’t help but pass glances to her now and again, she was really awesome.  Though… he doubted he’d have a chance, and honestly he needed to concentrate on himself… right… he didn’t want a repeat of before.  Turning towards the professor he waited for the actual teams.
“Ugh, whatever, boys versus girls.”
Both Lie and him stopped, “Uh… sir, could we uh… could you reconsider?”
“No!  Now get your stuff and get up there!”
Both boys turned towards one another, “Oh no.”
Lie and him weren’t terrible by any means, heck they were in the upper half of the class!  But, well… Nora and Pyrrha were at the very top constantly competing for first place.  And there was talk about Pyrrha actually competing in the upcoming tournaments!  The trio had opted out of it, they didn’t really want the attention and honestly speaking they didn’t want to be in front of a crowd.
“Hurry up!”  Both boys sighed, relenting to their future domination. That was till they were both pulled into a powerful hug.
“Yes!  I can’t wait to fight!  It’s going to be a ton of fun!”
Jaune loved Nora, she was his wonderful sister after all.  But, well… he wasn’t sure he could agree with that last bit.  Though he didn’t really have the heart to deny her answer as she continued to squeeze the two boys together.
“Nora I think they get the point.”  Pyrrha’s gentle tone caught his ears.
“Okie dokie!”  Nora let them go at the behest of her, in her own words, besty better than the resty forever!  Honestly despite his obvious… not so obvious, crush on her, he was just happy that she got along with Nora.  Like he said he loved Nora, but she had a lot of energy, a lot of energy that caused a lot of people to think she was stupid or dumb, well they always got what was coming to them.
“Still, this should be a grand fight!”
“Right right!  Grand.”
“Yes… Grand.”  Lie’s response was far less enthusiastic than his own.  Both boys however gave way, once they gathered their things adjourning at the arena.  The girls had already been prepared, Pyrrha had her own specially made weapon.  “It seems they’re taking us seriously.”
“Yep… I wish they wouldn’t!”  Jaune didn’t like where this was going!  He had seriously thought about how they’d handle the dynamic duo, but every single idea and thought was always just crushed by overwhelming prowess and might.  “Well nothing left but to do it then ya?”
Lie simply nodded, they would have to take this one step at a time after all.
The moment they lined up with the girls the professor started the count down.
“Alright!  3...2...1… GO!”
Hopefully this wouldn’t be too terrible.
“This is terrible…”
A week earlier.
Charles couldn’t believe what they’d run into, he was starting to truly and fully believe that him and his wife were harbingers of doom… or at the very least ones that came in the aftermath of great destruction.
“Who would do this?  This wasn’t a grimm attack… they don’t just set fires to homes!”  Jeanne didn’t like this, not at all… they’d been on a mission when they’d seen the smoke rise into the air.  When they got to the small farm they’d found the home razed to the ground, if only they’d gotten here sooner!  She clenched her fist as the air around her began to warp, her aura flared wildly, the ground cracking beneath her feet.
“WAAAAAAAAAH!”
In an instant she cooled off, “Did you hear that?!”
“Yes!”  Both husband and wife turned towards one another, in an instant they were off, the ground cracking beneath their feet as they made their way towards the sound.
In an instant they found themselves in front of a Cellar, wasting no time they dug through the debris blocking their way.
“What…”  Once they’d opened the doors they’d found a young boy who appeared to be the same age as their twins.  “Oh god…”  Jeanne winced at the terrible wounds on his chest rising up to his neck.
“No… not again.  What do we do?”  Her husband’s words sunk in.
“We...  we have to take him… see if he has family?  Find out who he is…”
“P...please… help him…”  Their eyes snapped towards a younger woman.  They hadn’t noticed her before, but… but she wasn’t going to make it.  The clear indications of severe wounds present on her body, scars and gnashes… the seasoned hunters almost looked away.  “Please… he has… no one else…”
“Hold on don’t ta…”  Charles stopped as he drew closer, “...She’s dead.”
Once more they let the silence seep in, “We… we have to take him.”
Her husband stood there for a moment, “Alright…”
They would bury the woman, and they would take the young boy home with them.  The young man who they would later learn the name as Oscar Pines, the young man that would later be known as Oscar Pines Arc.
Jaune had been wrong, he had been terribly terribly wrong!  This was worse than terrible!  This had gone downright ugly!
His legs buckled at Nora’s powerful swing, the arena beneath his feet cracked.  “SERIOUSLY?!”  He knew that these things were supposed to be made of sturdier stuff, and he knew that if he hadn’t been pumping aura into this metal sheet of a shield it would have caved right in.
“AHAHAHAH!”  Her body was surging with dangerously high levels of electricity.
“Your semblance is so unfair!”
“Says the walking living aura generator!  Now on your knees my favorite minion!”
“NOPE NOPE NOPE!  LIE!”  In an instant Lie pulled himself away from trying to defend from Pyrrha, pumping his aura into his legs he dashed over towards his manic sister, his palm colliding with her waist sending her flying.  Unfortunately she was able to stop herself from getting ringed out by smashing her hammer into the ground beneath them.
Jaune’s hand swiped past Lie as he continued after Nora, in a single burst he’d filled his brother’s Aura up once more.  WIth a burst of strength his own Aura began to refill, only to stop a Pyrrha peppered him with dust rounds.
“Really Pyrrha?!”
“Sorry!  But I can’t let you do that!”  She was ever the fighter after all, so he knew she wouldn’t just let him recharge.
“Fine!”  Putting up his shield he dashed forward, allowing the bullets to graze past it or hit less important targets, like not his head.
Upon reaching her, he did what he did best, he attempted to ram his shield into her face.  Only for her to deftly avoid him, his shield flashed black as she attempted to nudge it away.
Ever since her fight with Nora, she’d apparently been using her semblance a lot more, taking the time to really practice with it.  Or at least that’s what she’d told them anyways.  Which was great and everything!  But it made her really frustrating to fight, so he did what he knew he could.  Pumping more aura into the shield he was able to overpower her attempt at control.
“You really do have a lot of aura!”  He would have blushed at the comment if not for her shield attempting to ram him into the face.
He didn’t have many options, he couldn’t really avoid it, he wasn’t exactly the fastest person, so once more he did what he thought he could.  “ACHA!”  With a might slam he hit her shield straight on with his empowered forehead causing her to pull back in surprise.
“Jaune!?”  Her worried tone was apparently warranted as that blow nearly knocked his lights out.  Aura could do a lot of things, but when he messed up, well sometimes his brain couldn’t really handle the rumbling.
“I’m okay!”  Straightening himself he attempted to swipe at her midsection, only for her to parry the blow using her blade.
“Good!”  In that moment he felt her aura wrap around his blade disarming him as her knee hit him straight in the gut.  Thankfully his Aura protected him, but that hadn’t been her goal.  In the moment that he instinctively buckled over she’d applied her aura instantly onto his shield and pushed him straight out of the ring.  “Sorry!”
To his surprise Lie had already been there waiting for him.  “Did she golf swing you?”
“She golf swung me…”
“Nikos and Arc win!”
The boys could hear the cheering from the crowd, their own egos slightly wounded as no one really had expected them to win, not even themselves!
But, well that didn’t matter in the end, “YOU GUYS DID AMAZING!”
Pink and Sapphire eyes glanced upwards, meeting emerald and turquoise.
“She’s right you know.  You had gotten our aura’s rather low.”
Both boys turned towards the monitor at the same time, they’d managed to get both Pyrrha and Nora down to about 60 percent.  That may have seemed like nothing, but well, when most people couldn’t drop them even a single percent?  It wasn’t a bad thing.  “Huh!  Hey look at that, we got you guys down another 2 percent this time.”  A part of him did want to have a little snark though.
“That we did.”
“Yeah!  You guys are improving!”  Nora pulled everyone into a tight hug, her arms wrapped affectionately around her family, Pyrrha included.
“I agree you’re both improving at a remarkable rate.”
Neither of the boys could really deny it, while it felt bad to lose, well… well at least they knew they were getting better and that wasn’t a bad thing.
“Alright… well how bout… we go get cleaned up and then we can go to Saph’s house.  We could have a sleep over?”  He turned towards Pyrrha, “If you can come of course!”
“Oh!  Yes, my parents should be fine with it.  They quite like your sister.”  Pyrrha’s warm smile caused his chest to feel oddly pained.  Right, gotta concentrate on getting better.
Pyrrha parted ways with them wanting to get ready and prepared for the oncoming sleepover.
Once they’d gotten home after getting ready, they’d noticed extra sounds coming from the living room.  “Saph?”
“MY BABIES!”  In an instant the three Arc siblings were pulled into one powerful hug.
“MOM!”  Nora was the only one to return the powerful hug meeting one with equal strength.
“Hey kids… we got something to tell you.”  As their mom dropped them they eyed a small figure behind them.  “Meet Oscar… Oscar Pine Arc, he’s your new little brother.”

“SUMIMASEN.” you muttered quietly as you accidentally bumped into one of your seniors in savanaclaw. “tch, watch where you’re going. first year.” he scoffed. “you really gotta respect your seniors.” it’s not like you were bumping into him on purpose or anything. “i’m sorry senpai. it won’t happen again.” he cornered you in the hallway with all students crowded around you. it was too crowded no one saw what was happening. “oi. what the hell are you doing, dumbass?” you snapped your head up to see the one and only, dorm leader of savanaclaw, leona kingscholar. he was approaching the both of you and that’s when your senior moved away from you. “prefect leona..!” he gulped, sweat trickling down his forehead. “it was just a minor incident..!” leona growled. “you dare disrespect the newbie who can’t use magic? let alone a lady.” your senior did a perfect 90 degree bow and apologized. eventually he ran away, leaving you alone. you exhaled a sigh of relief. “kingscholar-senpai. thank you.”
“tch he’s just an idiot after all. ruining savanaclaw’s name.” he looked around at the now empty hallway. “where are your friends? not heading to class together?” you shook your head. “a-actually i don’t...really have any friends.” you muttered the last part. of course with leona’s careful ears he picked up what you said. “hah? is that so?” he sighed. “well if you have no one to go to class with, let’s just ditch and go somewhere.” you pouted. “i mean...i have no class right now...so why not?” you smiled. leona led the way and you just followed behind him. “king...kingscholar-senpai? where exactly are we going?” you spoke in a volume which was actually to soft to be heard. “i’m taking you somewhere you can just relax okay? no matter how much the owner’s a slimy bastard.” he muttered. you arrived in an odd looking place surrounded with different types of decor which resembled corals and sea shells. leona said it was called the mostro lounge. “ah! leona-kun! what a surprise! areee~is that newbie-chan?” you gulped and hesitantly took small steps to where octavnielle’s dorm leader, azul ashengrotto, was. leona noticed your discomfort and slung his arm around your shoulder. “just relax.”
“tsk, can’t shut up can you, slimy bastard?” the man in the glasses just chuckled at this. “why that’s a new nickname leona-kun. care for anything to drink? newbie-chan?” you cleared your throat. “it’s (y/n).” you spoke softly, which caused azul’s eyes widened. “so you do speak! and not to mention you have a lovely voice.” you just nervously chuckled. “thank you...i don’t get that a lot...” azul shook his head. “why someone with an alluring voice as your’s just makes me want to...” he trailed off and cleared his throat. “would you two like anything to order? or...are you here for a contract perhaps..?” leona just sighed. “can you get us water or something for now?” he snapped. “oh i’ll get those two to do it. i want to have a conversation with the both of you.” and that conversation was filled with azul and leona just bickering with each other. sometimes you had a small input but they could barely hear you. you hated this. just speak up me! of course you tried to. but it didn’t work. “what’s this? an informal dorm leader meeting?” you three snapped your head around to meet the dorm leader of heartslabyul, riddle rosehearts. “ah~riddle! here for that contract huh?”
“we leave that matter for next time.” he brushed azul off and noticed you sitting next to leona. “ah, you’re (y/n) aren’t you?” you nodded. “nice to meet you.” you smiled softly and spoke softly as well. how gentle, riddle thought to himself. “well then, what are you doing here if you’re not here for that matter.” azul questioned. “well originally i was. but seeing we have company...” riddle glared at leona “we can have that discussion for another time.” and so riddle joined the conversation between the three of you. it was better this time, considering he asked you more questions. you got more comfortable with riddle being there and you were able to say something when you got the chance. “yooo! i managed to leave class early. i-eh, wait where’s idia?” you noticed in the front door to the lounge, the dorm leader of scarabia, kalim al-asim. “he’s not here. obviously.” leona scoffed. “ehhhh, but he wanted to meet me here.” he pouted. “anyways what are you four talking about?” he bounced all the way to your table. “(y/n)-chan here was just telling us about her whole experience with that racoon dog...thing...” kalim laughed. “oh the cat that burnt my butt on the first day.” you giggled. “it doesn’t hurt though right? grim really said sorry for it.” kalim smiled and waved his hand. “no, no! of course not! ne, ne, (y/n)-chan, are you enjoying your stay so far?”
truth be told. you weren’t. ever since the first day up to today, you were dreading every moment of it. however, since leona stood up for you, azul was nice enough to get you both something, riddle opened conversations for you, kalim was so cheerful and asked you tons of questions, you started to like it here. you never knew the dorm leaders were so nice. “ever since today actually...yeah. i really do.” you smiled. all the dorm leaders felt as if their heart skip a beat. cute. “come now, epel-kun, we need to teach you the different arrays of table manners-huh.” vil schoenheit, the dorm leader of pomefiore stepped inside the lounge to see you and four other dorm leaders sitting in a table and smiling at each other. “oh my, was this a party i wasn’t invited to?” when vil saw you, he left rook and epel confused at a table alone and went straight to you. “oh my, darling, you have such silky hair. please tell me what product you use.” he took a strand of your hair and admired it.
you flinched a little and your face was bright red. “u-uhmm..just normal shampoo?” vil then started complimenting every single thing about you. even the things about yourself you thought were somehow off. you were now beginning to have a really good conversation with all of them. you were able to answer, ask, and even crack a joke or two when a chance came up. suddenly kalim’s phone rang. it was idia shroud, the dorm leader of ignihyde. “ah! idia! join us for a chat!” kalim put his phone on speaker mode. “n-nice to meet you...shroud senpai.” you spoke to the phone. “ah? are you the new girl?” you nodded but forgot he wasn’t there to see you. riddle took notice of this and chuckled at how cute you were. “yeah. i am.” with idia, the conversation continued all night long. you were starting to get drowsy and tomorrow was a school day. “oh my, it seems our dear (y/n)-chan is getting sleepy. why not we call it a day.” azul spoke. you were honestly thankful for him. you waved each and every one of them goodbye with a large grin plastered on your face. aren’t there seven dorms though....not six? you thought to yourself. you ignored that thought and started heading back to the ramshackle dorm.
“grim’s going to kill me for staying out too late without getting him any food.” you noticed a tall figure lingering in front of the dorm. he looked shocked to see you. “a human..?” he had horns. how odd. “aren’t you...malleus draconia?” he smirked. “you seem to know me. yet you don’t cower in fear. how odd.” he started walking away from the dorm as you entered through the gate. you missed a step however and almost fell face first into the dirt. however a green mist covered your body and helped you stand upright. “please be careful, (y/n). i’ll be seeing you around.” and with that, he left. how did he even know my name?!
you tossed and turned in bed that night. you glanced out the window. just like every other night. you wanted to go back home, to your own world. but today, after meaning the seven dorm leaders, you’re not so sure you still want that to happen.
aaaaa im not too proud of this one ;-; i’m going to listen to some chill songs later to try and get inspiration hehe. have a good morning/night guys :))

warnings:

prompt: anonymous: “Can you please write a Tom Holland!Peter Parker x Female!Reader where the reader is the older sister of Cassie Lang (Antman’s daughter) and her and Peter fall in love with each other. ✨ Thanks so much! 😘”
Tumblr media
Okay, so when you were a kid, you had always dreamed of being a superhero. You never thought you’d know your idols personally, though. You see, when your dad, Scott Lang, came back from prison, a lot changed. Suddenly, he was a superhero and no matter how much he didn’t like it, you wanted to be apart of it.
“Y/N, no, please. You’re just a kid!” You dad argued with you in the presence of your “uncles.”
“Scotty, I think it’d be good for her, you know? Like, she’s so smart and she’s got a lot of talent! I think she could learn a thing or two from Hope and Dr. Pym, right?” Uncle Luis egged on.
“Yeah, dad! Me and Hope have already been experimenting with some stuff and, I mean, Mom’s been bugging me over getting into some extracurriculars...” You reasoned with him.
“Yeah, y/n, like photography club or soccer, not being a crime-fighting bug!” Scott pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, but when he looked back up, you were giving him puppy eyes. “Don’t...don’t do that.”
“Please, dad? I just wanna follow in your footsteps. You’re my hero.” You pouted your lip and didn’t break eye contact with him until he let out a load groan.
“Your mom is going to kill me.” He mumbled while you celebrated with Luis.
You became known as Dragonfly, Ant-Man and Wasp’s sidekick partner. It wasn’t long before you were affiliated with the Avengers and other heroes from across the galaxy.
The first time you stepped foot into the Avengers Compound was unbelievable.
“If only I could tell eight-year-old me how cool she’d grow up to be...” You whispered as your dad led you through the place. You were specifically requested for recruitment following a backround check that proved that you were qualified to train as a junior scientist! The program had just been started thanks to the young Spider-Man, one of the many heroes you had met before and would actually get to know after today.
“Alright, kiddo, it’s not too late to back out.” Your dad told you.
“It’s gonna be fine, dad! You know you can visit me anytime and I’ll come to see you and Cassie every chance I can get.” You gave him a warm smile to let him know it’s alright.
“I know...I’m just gonna miss you, you know?” He shrugged, but before the conversation could continue, you were greeted by Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk.
“Welcome! Nice to see you again, Scott.” Bruce shook your dad’s hand, then turned to you. “And it’s wonderful to finally meet the girl behind the mask.” He shook your hand.
“Nice to meet you, too, Doctor Banner.” You fit your small hand into his abnormally large (and green) hand.
“I’ve heard great things about you, Y/N. I’m excited to see your talent up close.” Dr. Banner chuckled. “I told Peter to meet us here, he probably forgot.” He walked to the wall and pressed the speaker button to the intercom. “Peter, can you meet us at the South Entrance?”
Moments later, a teenage boy came barrelling towards the three of you.
“Sorry! Sorry I’m late.” He apologized profusely. You giggled at the disheveled appearance of him. His hair was sticking up in the back and his flannel was half-tucked into his pants. “I’m Peter!” He stuck his hand out for you to shake. “Peter Parker. Spider-Man.” You took his hand gladly and shook it.
“Y/N Lang. Dragonfly.” You introduced yourself. “It’s been a while since we’ve fought together.” You pointed out. “Maybe that’s a good thing.” Peter’s eyes furrowed at that comment. “You know, not fighting.” You added.
“Oh, yeah, definitely!” Peter agreed.
“So, let me guess: you overslept?” You referenced Peter’s bold look and he quickly fixed anything noticeably wrong to him. Bruce and your dad were just observing the chemistry between you and Peter, exchanging entertained glances.
“Hi! I’m y/n’s dad, Scott. Ant-Man.” Scott interrupted as he waved to Peter.
“Oh! I remember you. You got really big in Germany and I had to web your knees until you fell down.” Peter brought up old memories and you covered your mouth to stop from laughing.
“Yep! That’s me.” Scott eyes got slightly wider. “So, I really wish I could stay, but I have a meeting with a client tomorrow morning that I can’t miss. Alarm company doesn’t run itself, you know?” Silence. “Anyways, uh, y/n.” He motioned you a bit closer so you could say goodbye. He crouched down and grabbed both your shoulders. “I love you so much and I am super proud of you. This is an awesome opportunity, kiddo!”
“Yeah, I know.” You said in a sort of disappointed tone.
“What’s wrong?” Scott asked.
“I’m just gonna miss you.” You frowned.
“Come here.” Your dad pulled you into a tight hug. “I’m gonna miss you, too.” The hug lasted at least sixty seconds before he pulled away and kissed your forehead. “Okay, now here’s your bag, go do some science!” He gave you your suitcase. “I love you, Pumkin.”
“Love you, too, dad.” You smiled, almost holding back tears. You really didn’t want to say goodbye to him, but it’s apart of life. Scott watched as you, Peter, and Banner walked down the halls of the Compound. Bruce and Peter were showing you your new room!
“What’s crime like on the West Coast?” Peter asked you. “I’ve only fought crime on the East Coast. And Europe. And Space.”
“Crime is the same coast to coast. It’s crime.” You shrugged.
“Well, that’s cool. Sorry, I’m not good at small talk.” He chuckled.
“Peter, you’ll be able to show y/n her room and give her a little tour, right?” Bruce asked as he slowed down.
“Yeah, no problem.” Peter nodded.
“Alright, great. I’ll be in the lab if anyone needs me.” Bruce walked away and left the two of you to it.
“Okie doke.” Peter clapped his hands together. “Well, this is the hallway.” Is exactly how he just began the tour. The Compound was actually, surprisingly, bigger than you expected. “And that’s the training room, there’s the kitchen, your room has it’s own bathroom, but there are other bathrooms all over the place. There’s a shopping list on the fridge if you ever have any requests, but fruit snacks are banned since I ate two full boxes in one day and threw up.” Peter gave that wonderful anecdote.
“Wow, that’s...impressive?” You tried to come up with something.
“I think the word you’re looking for is ‘disgusting.’” Peter and you shared a laugh as you approached your new room. He opened the door up and you stepped into the biggest bedroom you’d ever seen. “It’s taken some getting used to, you know, the big room, the big bed, the huge bathroom, all of it.”
“This is amazing.” You mumbled.
“Yeah! And Bruce said we can go shopping and decorate the room any way you’d like. I just got my license, so I’d be cool with driving.” Peter proposed.
“Yeah, I think that’d be pretty cool.” You agreed as you threw your suitcase onto the bed and started unpacking. “Uh, I’m kind of hungry...know any places to eat around here?” You started putting shirts on hangers and filling up your huge closet. You noticed Peter hadn’t answered your question yet, so you turned around to see what he was stalling for. He was just watching you. “Am I really that interesting?” You joked.
“What?” Peter blinked. “Oh! Yeah, sorry, yeah, there’s a few places around that we can go to. Assuming you’d want my company, of course. It’s your choice, really.” Peter rambled and you approached him.
“Duh, I gotta get to know my housemate better!” You pulled Peter out of the room and in a random direction. “Am I going the right way to the garage?”
“No.” He answered and you quickly changed directions. You were oddly comfortable with Peter already, and he wasn’t exactly against it. You were super sweet to him and you two have a lot of shared experience. Teen heroes trying to make a difference. And bug-themed.
Peter drove you to his favorite (and closest) restaurant for dinner, and on the way, he played his music on the playlist. Left Hand Free by Alt-J played through the speakers as you sang along.
“You like this song?” He asked and you nodded without a pause in singing. “Good, so do I. You have a really good voice.” He complimented, which definitely made you blush.
“Thanks, now sing with me!” You nudged his arm leaning on the console and resumed your singing.
“I don’t really sing.” Peter chuckled and saw you roll your eyes, then sighed. “Fine. You win.” He began to join you in song.
Well your left hand’s free, and your right’s in grip. With another left hand watch his right hand slip towards his gun, woah woah woah...
“You’re not too bad, yourself, Peter.” You told him as he pulled into a parking spot at the restaurant. The two of you walked in together and the waitress immediately recognized Peter.
“Hey there, Peter! Good to see you!” She greeted and grabbed two menus. “I see you’ve brought a date.” She raised her eyebrows and smirked.
“Oh, uh, she’s not—” Peter stuttered before you took over.
“Yep, it’s our first date! I’m y/n.” You introduced yourself.
“Well, it’s nice to see him with someone. Follow me, you two.” She let you over to a table and told you she’d be back for drinks in a minute. As soon as she left, Peter turned to you.
“When were you going to tell me this was a date?” Peter cocked an eyebrow with a crooked smile to match it.
“I’m sorry! I hope it’s okay I told her that.” You innocently replied.
“It’s more than okay.” Peter leaned forward. “I’m happy to be your date. We are moving a bit fast, though.”
“Are you sure? This is actually pretty slow for people our age. By now, they’d probably be confessing their love for one another.” You joked and he rolled his eyes.
“You are so right!” He snorted. “Jeez, it’s been so long since I’ve talked to someone my own age!” He sighed. “What about you?”
“I hang out with adults all day long. The only kid I hang out with is my little sister. Do you have any siblings?” You asked him.
“Only child.” Peter answered. “What’s your sister’s name?”
“Cassie. She’s sweet but it’s kind of weird coming back after the Blip and seeing her all big and everything.” You made random hand gestures to demonstrate that she was bigger.
“I know, right! I have classmates that I saw as infants that are now bigger than me!” He explained. The waitress came back and got you your drinks and took each of your orders. Back to the chit-chat. “Okay, now tell me, what got you into the hero-game?”
“Okay, well, my dad had just gotten out of prison, right?” That sentence itself made Peter choke on his drink. “Oh, calm down, it was a non-violent offense. He actually exposed corruption, that’s why I look up to him.” You explained.
“That’s good, that’s good. I’m glad. Go on.” He took another sip from his drink.
“Yeah, so then he robbed Hank Pym, who actually wanted my dad to rob him, then a bunch of ants broke my dad out of jail after he got arrested again for stealing from Dr. Pym, then my dad became the new Ant-Man and took down some bad guys, his new girlfriend, Hope, who is Dr. Pym’s daughter, took a liking to me and started showing me the ropes, so me and my Uncle Luis convinced my dad to let me make my own suit. Then Dragonfly was born.” You explained in full detail. “What about you?”
“Oh, yeah. Well, I got bit by a radioactive spider that was being experimented on in a lab, then I had a short-lived wrestling career, then my uncle who raised me died and I became Spider-Man.” He smiled and your jaw dropped.
“Holy shit, are you okay?” You asked.
“Oh, yeah, I’m good.” He admitted as you guys recieved your food. “So, anything else I should know about you?”
“I dunno.” You shrugged. “I like Star Wars.” You told him.
“Me too!” Peter exclaimed.
“No, you don’t. My dad told me Spider-Man called AT-AT’s ‘walking-thingies.’” You shook your head and laughed at the thought of that.
“Okay, so I’m not a huge fan, but our next date can be a Star Wars marathon?” Peter proposed.
“Yes!” You agreed a bit too enthusiastically. Peter smiled and the waitress brought an ice cream sundae with two spoons to the table.
“It’s on the house.” She told you two with a wink.
“Looks like we’re sharing.” You grabbed a spoon and got to work. Peter got chocolate all over his chin. He was kind of a messy eater. “You’ve got a little something...” You grabbed a napkin and wiped his chin clean.
“Thanks.” Peter picked his spoon up and moved it towards you. “Have you tried any of the brownie yet?” You took a bite of what he offered.
“Wow, that’s amazing.” You spoke through your mouthful.
“I hate to brag, but I make a pretty mean batch of brownies.” Peter bragged.
“You’re gonna have to prove it, Pete.” You wiped your face off and cleaned up your spot a bit. “You ready to get back to the Compound?”
“Yeah, yeah, let’s get going.” Peter left some cash on the table to pay the bill and walked you out to the car. The car ride back was filled with jokes and even more stories about your super-adventures. “So, you’re telling me that the first time you shrank, you cried?”
“Yes! Dude, it was an emotional experience. I’m telling you, I was not prepared for something so cool.” You defended yourself. “Now tell me something embarrassing about your powers.”
“I got stuck to a bathroom stall at school and they thought I was skipping class so they sent an aide and I was crying out of fear.” He admitted with pity in his voice.
“Oh, my god. That’s awful.” You giggled and grabbed his hand. “Have you recovered yet?”
“No, unfortunately not, but the handholding sure does help.” Peter squeezed your hand tighter.
“I’m glad.” You smugly replied and closed your eyes to listen to the music. You were kind of exhausted from traveling, so you knew you’d pass out the moment you hit your bed. Soon, you arrived at the Compound and Peter kissed your cheek to get you up.
“We’re hoooome.” He said in a singsong voice as your eyes fluttered open. “Sorry, that was weird.” He apologized, but you grabbed his face and pulled him in for a long kiss. More like a brief makeout, but potato, poe-tah-toe.
“You’re really cute, you know?”

ateez film diary analysis
ok i am currently typing with tears in my eyes but that’s cool!!!! gonna talk about ateez diary film for a moment. btw if you’re here for theories, this might not be for you, my brain is not capable of that critical thinking lmao. although, i will be rambling/analyzing the cinematography and overall admiring the film!! under the cut because this happened to be 1.5k words oops.
man, first of all, 16 minutes?? thank you for the food kq!! i think their concept is super cool. it’s unpredictable, refreshing, and just gives me a lot of high hopes for this comeback. ateez never disappoints, they come back each time stronger and better.
“this is the story where their dimensions are split into eight pieces again.” that kinds hurt me. throughout the film we see clips of them being happy and joyful with each other, but we also see scenes where they’re all alone. they didn’t get separated by losing contacts or whatever, literally dimensions.
phew okay, when the man with the black fedora approaching hongjoong like that was soooo dskjdj ugh i love it when they have a bright light in the back, capturing the silhouette perfectly. sorry i’m such a sucker for those types of shoots!! now hongjoong’s dream. “the world inside a television cannot be reached. the world they live in and the world that i live in is blocked.” yea.. they’re separated from dimensions. isn’t that so heartbreaking?? separated by time and space.
um this might be a huge stretch, plus i’m horrible at science. i’ve read a lot of articles on where, ‘if time stopped would gravity still apply?’ and i thought of this because of the items floating up around hongjoong. without time, gravity, acceleration, speed and force are simply meaningless, so i guess that’s why it’s floating? as if we’re going back in time. there’s a lot of consequences and weird things on going back in time/time travelling (most famously the ‘bootstrap paradox’) because time is not an object and cannot ‘go’ anywhere at all, not forward, not backward, nor can it stop. so i expected some not so happy events to occur.
anyways moving on to seonghwa’s memory. i loved this. “i thought i lacked in many areas and have much to learn.” then we see a bunch of to-do lists and i guess they’re kinda like goals to accomplish or things he wants to learn. the somewhat long shot of him sitting on this table and the camera moving away from him gave me a sense of isolation (i also don’t know why yeo in the smn box is on the tv but it could mean he’s trapped). we also see him walking straight, kinda like following a straightforward path with a lot of control, hence the to-do lists. then he hits stops. now the girl is the total opposite of seonghwa. she’s dancing, moving, and overall carefree i would say. everything seonghwa is lacking. she’s freedom. i don’t have much to say about this scene but i really like how when he was walking one step at a time, it was completely dark. but as soon as it hits stops and sees her, there were lights.
now my favourite, wooyoung’s choice. that transition to seonghwa’s little emo time to wooyoung’s hyped underground music and dancing was the serotonin boost i needed. let’s talk about his ponytail because it made me a whole simp for him. plus he’s so fucking cool?? if i become a wooyoung biased soon, you know why. he talks about stage fright and the scene where people were looking down at the camera was perfect, low camera shots show dominance or superiority. when you have stage fright, you’re worried and insecure about your abilities (at least that’s how i feel) and with people look down at you is almost like they’re judging and aren’t expecting much from you. ateez brings him courage and reassurance, they give him strength. the last scene with the rain and the flickering light so chilling. its almost like the rain washed away his everything.
yeosang’s time giving me slight dark academia vibes and i’m here for it!!! also bird metaphors?? yes please! “limited freedom. like a bird in a cage.” we see yeosang in a room surrounded by other musicians but he isn’t playing his instrument. almost like he doesn’t wanna be there or has no real passion for this field. hence him talking about ‘expanding his dreams’. we get a close shot at his face looking forward to the right, i feel as if he’s daydreaming or reaching out. taking back to say my name, we have yeosang trapped inside that box, almost like the birds with limited freedom. he drops his violin and suddenly the birds (they symbolize peace, transformation, freedom and power) are free, giving us a scene with his friends. he’s free.
san’s resolution might just be my favourite in terms of cinematography. can we just talk about the long amount of time san has the stay put for the timelapse to work?? the scene wins my heart. now we see the classroom in a mess, meaning school was never enjoyable to san. always moving and no friends. the way he’s moving seems like there’s not much he can do in his life. the escalator scenes kinda look like the one in wonderland. time is always moving, the escalator moving, and san runs back up despite it moving in the opposite direction. im not sure where i was going with this but i thought i was kinda cool, how he’s running back up to be with his friends.
next, we have yunho and his brother. in a matter of seconds, all the light in the studio flicker and turns off. this is quite similar to the flicker lights in wooyoung’s last scene. there’s a pattern here with flickering lights and how it means lost and loneliness. we don’t know what 5:07 mean, maybe its completely relevant but knowing kq and their team, almost everything seems intentional. also i saw on twt (not my analysis) but seonghwa’s to-do list includes a task of learning how to drive, then we get yunho getting hit by a car. not sure where i got from this but i thought i would include it.
actor jongho!!!! he’s so good i love him. ok so we get that basketball was his dreams but due to his broken leg, it seems impossible for him to pursue that dream. we him sitting at a distance, admiring the game and the people who are able to play. but when he’s in the court, he’s all alone (might just be because he can’t go in court when other people are playing but just let me be deep for a second oki). the burning basketball means he cannot play again. then the fight scene between him and mingi. i want to talk about the camera work for a second. it’s unstable, harsh and a little unfocused (because it’s handheld) and it makes it seem like another member’s pov, pushing the realism on us. hmm this might be kinda dumb but the loud bang when mingi got pushed was a little unexpected hence every scene with the boys was all very calm and had music in the back, no sounds. idk just a noticed. ohmygod another silhouette scene with beautiful lighting in the back!!!! the camera is moving away from him, moving away shows weakness. i loveee this so much along with the smoke. his dreams are burning up, literally.
last we have mingi’s diary. “earphones in my ears, the world is mine for now.” again, similar to seonghwa in the dark walking, mingi is isolating himself from the world. he’s using music to escape from reality. mingi looks trapped by the way its shot, cutting off his forehead and lips only showcasing his eyes and nose. this could be his facial features are more important than anything else right now. the camera angle is below mingi, again with the dominance and superiority… because he literally kicked someone. but still the same camera angle except this time mingi is looking up at the sky or forward, not looking down. with that, mingi no longer looks intimidating, he seems slightly vulnerable. and i think that’s really powerful how quickly he transitions despite the same angle. so we know mingi uses music as an escape, “i would rather be alone than encounter the world.” then we see yeosang (by his flannel) taking off his earphones. bringing him back to reality with the boys, and everything seems a lot more peaceful. its kinda like, without his friends, he would rather be isolated. now i want to point how the loud bang from jongho’s shot. it’s literally the same shot but the noise isn’t there indicating that mingi has earphones in (i think even when they’re not literally in, he still shuts out noise), shutting off the noise. i think the little details were so well done. we also get a match cut of mingi blinking, back to the darkness. i think it shows how quickly things can be taken away from you.
MAN THE SCENE WHERE THEY ALL GATHER TOWARDS HONGJOONG JAKJDSJKSDJKSD I CANNOT BREATHE IT GAVE ME SO MUCH CHILLS MYGODDOO !!!!!! like that scene in say my name. gotta love the build up of the song then it drops when the members all show up UGH I LOVED THAT SOO MUCH!! “the memories of short happiness. and dreams broken into pieces” brb gonna cry. the hourglass is finished,, what does this mean? ;o also i cant help but to notice the lighting on how one side is dark and the other has light. this could just be for aesthetics but idkkkk just another notice.
hehe sorry this made no sense,,, anyways that’s all i have to say, i’m so excited for their comeback <33

The Drake Saga: And why giving kids an eevee is better than a hydreigon
Just A cute store about how Drake met Karne and eventually became an umbreon. Tho there is a pyrce scene so uhhh
Tw: child abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse
Also heads up Karen’s birth name Okera or ‘oki-doki’ which is the nickname her dad uses, is mentioned, refer to headcannons about how she ended up with Karen as her name.
Below cut for length
“Hey Okie-doki wanna see what daddy got you?”
The man grinned after bursting open the door. At least that was what Drake assumed happened from what he heard inside the pokeball. He didn’t really understand all that was happening. Just that he was picked up from his mother, and taken with this man. Some stranger he didn’t know, and heard a small girl giggling from outside his ball.
“Adgar what did you do?”
“Something amazing because every child deserves-”
And then it happened. There was a bright light and he went from sitting inside the pokeball to sitting on the ground. Some wood ground with eyes all staring at him. There was the man, a woman who wasn’t smiling staring at the man, and a child with large blue eyes maybe no older than 4.
“Ugh Adgar I said we had enough pokemon.”
“Yeah we have enough but Okie-doki here deserves to have one especially sinec she’d about to head to school.”
“Mine?!”
The child squeaked looking up in awe at who Drake assumed to be your fathers.
“All yours kiddo, we can go make it official at the pokemon center later.”
That was all it took for Drake to find himself in a new situation. He didn’t have time to react as the child moved with immediate speed to wrap him in her arms. He gave a squeak at first in fear, but soon found her grip was surprisingly too strong to break from. It was warm too.....well the warmth wasn’t so bad.
“Adgar honestly.”
“Oh come on Yua I didn’t get her a dragon type since you said that was too dangerous, or a dark type since they’re bad omens to your family. I still think a hydregion would of been cool, but I think this eevee is perfect. I went ahead and named him Drake.”
Yes....Drake, the name this human dubbed him when getting him. Everyone seemed so excited about what was happening besides this woman. There had been so much smiling and joy around him, and yet her face never moved from it’s frown. Giggling rang in his ear as the child kept saying Drake, and finding new spots to pet him in her arms.
As this happened the man crouched down next to his daughter, and pulled her closer for a side hug as he held up the shiny new pokeball freshly engraved on the bottom.
“See this Okera? This is Drake’s pokeball, he’s gonna have a little home in here ok? Wanna know what this says?”
“Yeah!”
“It says,’every princess needs a dragon,’ and Drake is gonna help keep you safe, and you’re gonna keep him safe. That’s what being a trainer is about. As you change he’s gonna change with you, and just like how I want you to become whatever you wanna be he’s going to become something he wants to be ok?”
Her dad explained in a soft comforting voice. Drake stared at him a moment processing this whole arrangement he was explaining. It seemed...silly. How was this doughy child supposed to protect him. He could get out of this hold if he wanted! As he looked back at those eyes he faltered though. They were just, so happy, so kind, so innocent in a way that when she pipped in he knew she was saying it with her whole heart.
“We Drake’s family! Gonna be the best trainer to him!”
I’ll be a good pokemon to you too tiny human.
He smiled setting his paw on her nose immediately getting a giggle from her, yeah this wasn’t so bad.
Dragons for dad
“Woah I mean you kinda look dragon like, do you feel like anything that feels like evolving yet?”
Karen asked crouched down next to her Eevee. The pokemon closed his eyes tightly. Alright think scales, and fijre breathing, and jewel hoarding, and thing dragon, think dragon! He focused all of his energy but.....nothing. There wasn’t even the lighting tingle of change he felt. He failed again. Drake realized opening his eyes as he stared at the ground despondently.
“Aw it’s ok Drake maybe we just gotta try using a new move or something.”
Karen encouraged starting to pull one of the dragon scales from his fur. Seeing that she was pulling the plug for the day he spit out the two dragon fangs he’d wedged in his mouth as well. The two of them were trying to accomplish something unheard of, the first dragon eeveelution. So far they’d tried alot of things, and the latest method was evolution items. He was sort of decorated everywhere in scales and fangs she’d collected still with no luck.
“Hey I’m sure next time we’ll get it! You’re still the goodest of boys ok! We’re gonna make dad proud together, so that when he comes back he’s gonna be blown away by how good of a duo we are!”
She was so alight with passion, and energy as she clenched her fist in determination Drake gave an excited yip to hide the pain in his heart. He knew her dad wasn’t coming back. While she slept he’d been sneaking about hearing what their mother said, how she lied about everything, and how she’d changed things to hide from their father. Even changing the child’s name to Karen. In Karen’s mind this would solve it, getting the first dragon eeveelution would be so impressive her dad had to come back. When the truth was, he couldn’t.
Maybe though if he could do it, maybe he’d see that innocent smile again, and help her like he was supposed to.
Not such a stupid child
“I think you should use Trick for this.”
The old man encouraged handing her a pokeball that twitched with the violent spirit of the murkrow inside. Drake didn’t like that pokemon, no one on the team liked that pokemon. Something was wrong with him. There was almost no thought to the bird besides violence as even it’s words to their ears sounded garbled and overall manic. Stepping in front of his trainer out if instinct he saw the man meet eyes with him. There was a stare that was clearly an invitation to step down, but Drake didn’t move. He didn’t want that pokemon to hurt his human again, or tear his blue bandana like it had before.
“You said use our best sir, and well I’m best at fighting with Drake.”
Karen explained wary in tone when talking to only this figure of authority. Pryce paused at those words finally pulling his eyes from the pokemon to whom he dubbed as his child. She had her hands back at attention having been learning the stance for some time now. !3 currently, and she had the proper protocols down flat.
“Hm, that is true. I do think that if you desire the advantage a murkrow would help with it’s flight.”
“I am aware although Drake and I have found work arounds before, and I have found practicing outside the box ideas helps me in proper missions.”
“Always so helpful, I appreciate it child....I suppose I’m just hurt.”
“Uh...I’m sorry sir, c-can I ask how?”
She asked nervously watching the way he slouched back often before digging into her.
“Well you always choose Drake, the one your father gave you. I’m your father now Karen, so why don’t you love me?”
It wasn’t like that! Drake wanted to shout feeling a growl desperately want to escape, but he swallowed it down knowing she’d be hurt for it. Immediately he felt her thoughts swim. There was panic rising as she registered Pryce could be angry, she had to stop him from being angry at her otherwise she wouldn’t have a family again. That was what she told Drake late at night when they were alone, and now she was in a tizzy as he questioned her loyalty.
“No I do! You’re the best dad I’ve ever had, I-I’m sorry to hurt you sir. Um, I just uh like Drake-”
“Karen, child, calm yourself. I understand, but you really should let go. Your dad left you, I have provided for you like a true father, and it hurts to think about him. Now I have an idea let’s have you get more used to trick ok, and maybe we can eventually phase Drake out. Help you forget about him.
He encouraged handing her the twitching pokeball again. It was new, Drake noticed. He and Karen both saw the inscription on the bottom, freshly engraved,’To my daughter from her father-Masked Man’. So it was new, and this man wanted to replace him! That growl finally escaped. Which lead to Karen scooping him up.
“.....No. I don’t want to forget him, becuase it helps me appreciate you more, and....It’s not Drake’s fault he left. He’s as hurt by it as I am.”
She then took the pokeball holding it as close to her as she held him.
“I’m going to go train with them now, and show I love you.”
Without waiting for an answer, despite the danger in that she turned to take off down the hall with them both. Drake feeling how quickly her heart was beating in fear. He needed to protect her better.
Seperation in a Storm
Everything went wrong.
The whole mission was an utter bust in every way. He didn’t know why, or how due to the panic brough ton by the storm, and he didn’t care. All the wanted was Karen back. They’d been seperated during the escape attempt. He’d been running to her when Lugia suddenly had an outburst, and she was whisked away leaving the eevee standing there as growlithe could be heard yipping behind him. After that he just ran, and ran, and ran, and his feet hurt. They hurt so much. The lighting and thunder wouldn’t stop crashing around him, and any cry he made was deafened by their outbursts. He kept her safe. He made sure to keep everyone busy while she got away, and she waited for him as long as she could. He heard her yelling as the take off happened. A blinding strike of lighting kept him from seeing what happened, but he heard her yelling for a moment, and now it haunted him. Another roll of thunder from directly overhead was the breaking point.
He tripped from fright, and tumbled into some gully washed creek. The current was strong in the pouring rain unfortunately, and with all his fur the water felt so much heavier. His lungs already ached from breathing while running at top speed not to mention his bleeding paw pads from running so hard. The fight he put up was pathetic in every way. It didn’t even feel worth it as he knew he’d likely never find his girl again, so he just gave up.
He wished the fall was peaceful. He wished he could of splashed into something still to accept fate, but with the crashing of the waters from the overload of rain his body was tossed about left to right till even if he wanted to swim he couldn’t tell what direction up was. When he crashed into something he hoped it knocked him out. The crash was a hard one, but hit his back though meaning not knocked out yet. Or ever, as he soon found out feeling teeth, claws, and a hand grab his scruff. Was this death? Was it not cold? He wondered suddenly with a heave pulled from the water, and thrown on shore. What was happening? He wondered too weak and dazed to lift his head. Thankfully he didn’t have to as he was pulled into a familiar embrace.
The same heart beat he’d come to know was up against his hear again as even over the storm he heard sobbing. A houndour wrapped around one side, as a murkrow perched on the girl’s shoulders, and an gloom hopped in her lap to help warm him. She could hardly make a word through her sobbing, but he knew what she wanted. She wanted him to be ok. He was ok, he was now.
A tiny paw went up like it had often before, and batted her nose causing her tears to hitch a moment looking down to find little black eyes blinking at her. The sobs of sorrow became joyous realizing he was ok, and despite everything he felt...warm, tingling even as he looked down at himself realizing a dull glow was starting.
Wait was he? Then it happened. Everything quickly glowed bright, and he felt everywhere grow or shape. He wasn’t sure what Karen did too occupied with the sudden changes to his body, but she wasn’t stopping it. He saw it happen to her oddish, evolution, but they never gave a good description of the feeling. He was acutely aware of two things during it, how much Karen loved him, and the stillness of the moon above thew storming clouds. When it finally stopped he looked down at his body to see dark fur, and that his bandana fit far looser than before.
That was when it dawned on him that he’d become...an umbreon. Not a dragon eeveelution like they’d tried so hard to create. Just a pokemon her mother would deem a bad omen. He knew Karen loved him before, he felt that, but now....he failed her again. The crack of thunder brought him back as he looked to Karen instinctively going for comfort only to immediately receive it by being help in her arms. She didn’t care what he was, she loved him, and all night he let his rings glow to give her comfort till Will could help Pryce find her the next morning.

Disney’s Tangled but it’s a Corqi
This has been sitting in my drafts for literal MONTHS, being finished little by literal over M O N T H S, and just got to finish it now lmao
Sorry for the size, but Tangled gives me Feelings and Corqi even more, so this had to happen, inevitably ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m going to put the whole thing under cuts, UNDER reblogs, because even if you put a “Keep Reading” line on a post, it doesn’t work on mobile and honestly mobile users will MURDER ME for the size, so you’re welcome, making this comfortable for you.
Also making it like three parts so it’s easier for you to read, because you know me, I’m the 10k+ nerd, and this is 20k+ so yes.
Do I regret spending literal months on this to post and find 10 notes, 5 of which are myself?
Yes.
Does that mean I’m not going to post?
Fuck no, I spent a lot in this so if I get one note, fuck it, I’ll just love it myself lmao

HSMTMTS
''Can I get you to move a little closer to each other?'' Mrs Jen smiled, directing both EJ and I closer as the other cast members looked on with questioning glances. I could tell what they where thinking. What's wrong with them? They're a couple, why is it so awkward? Aren't they together?
Answer, no we weren't anymore, not that it was anyone's business. I was so tried of being lied to and left with nothing, nothing but my own wild guesses. EJ tried explaining but I couldn't hear it, everything was lie. The play during the summer, the lead part I got, a lie. The last school musical part, also a lie. Even a present he gave me was a lie, a used lie by his ex-girlfriend. Annoyance didn't even cover what I was feeling towards him.
''Come on, guys, we are blocking this as a love story, not a SARS epidemic'' Mrs Jen tried to joke through the tension. I stepped closer towards him, EJ doing the same though trying to get my attention while doing so.
''Troy, once the intro begins, cross downstage and plant yourself at the piano. Gabriella, you slowly approach the piano, and rest an arm on it, naturally. Okie dokie! Now, Let's take it from 'Wow, now that's really nice''' Mrs Jen instructs. As per usual, Peter wasn't here so EJ filled in as his understudy. I was almost tempted to get Gina, my understudy who had been trying to steal my spot take this one.
''Wow, now that's really nice'' EJ states awkwardly, his enthusiasm stiff. I grimace as the piano softly began to play. This was going to be a long rehearsal.
~*~*~*~*
''How do people like that live with themselves? How do they sleep at night?'' I babbled on, holding the cup of coffee in my cold hands. My best friend sat across from me, holding her own beverage inside our favorite little cafe.
''Like a shark. Eyes open'' If I wasn't so down I'd probably laugh.
''We've been dating for, like, three months and I don't even know this person'' I exclaimed, throwing my hands to the side before returning them back to my cup, taking a sip.
''Sweetie, it's called a blind spot. Everybody's got 'em. Why do you think I flunked my driving test?'' She folded her hands forward now, smiling a little which caused me to smile softly.
''If he's willing to do that to somebody, how long before he tries to poison me?'' Again, asking aloud but was very grateful for the ears my best friend was lending me in my time of need.
''I'm gonna get us some food'' She stood up, sighing to herself as I was lost deep in thought. A few moments later she came back, snapping me out of it.
''These are your choices, a very sad-looking bran muffin or some really shriveled-up carrots'' I scrunch my nose up, not liking either. I glanced down at them, picking up the muffin packet.
''Don't look now, but you're shark's cousin is here'' I glanced back up and then pivoted my head around, spotting Ashlyn. I smiled softly towards her. Hoping for a smile back, she gave me a timid look instead, quickly retreating. I hop up fast, chasing after her.
''Hey! Ashlyn! You don't have to avoid me'' I call out, noticing her pick up her helmet from her bike.
''No. I'm not avoiding, I just decided to make a half-caff mocha frappe at home'' She faked a smile.
''Look, Ashlyn, no matter what happens between me and EJ, there's no bad blood between us. I mean, you might have some because you're related to him, but that's not your fault'' I chuckled, getting off track.
''Y/N, I really don't want to be in the middle''
''Wait, you're not. It's not like you knew what he did'' She instantly frowned. My awkward smile fell a little, realising.
''Oh. You knew what he did, and you knew about the hot egg? His ex-girlfriend?'' I asked.
''Not till today'' She responded, frowning herself at her stupid cousin. I sighed in relief.
''But, I'm not totally surprised''
''Are you totally disgusted?'' I asked a little incredulously.
''A little, but he's EJ. He tends to do the wrong things for the right reasons''
''No, you cannot possibly defend him'' I began, growing slightly annoyed.
''No, I'm not. I'm not. Look, I know what he did sucks, but he loves you... and he's hurting right now and...'' Ashlyn tried reasoning, feeling a little silly for even backing up her cousin in the first place.
''Yeah, and what? What am I supposed to do with that?''
''Find some way to forgive him?'' As much as I hated to say it, she did have a point. But it was not going to be that easy, he did a lot of unforgivable things. Why does he deserve a second chance?
~*~*~*~*
My thoughts consumed me again once I got home. I went straight up to my room and stayed in there, even missed dinner because I wasn't feeling very well. I felt sick to my stomach thinking about everything, I wish I could turn my brain off and stop. The only thing that usually calmed me down wasn't here anymore.
I didn't even bother checking my phone once I heard it go off.
''Hey hot stuff'' I answered with a smile. My best friend laughed through the phone, sending a greeting back.
''Just checking to make sure you're okay'' She was honestly the best.
''Yeah, I'm fine'' I lied smoothly, walking over towards my bed.
''You sure?'' She asked in a disbelieving tone.
''Uh, yeah. It happened, it's over, life goes on. Plus, I just blocked EJ's number, so... Problem solved!'' Sometimes she was the only person who could see through the mask.
''You know it's okay to be sad, too, right?'' I bit my lip, not wanting to cry.
''Yeah, I know''
''Y/N, it's okay to be sad'' I looked up towards my window, smiling sadly.
''Yeah. Okay, thanks hun''
''Call me anytime, okay?'' A genuine smile now coated my lips.
''I will. You're the best. Mwah bye-bye'' I sing-songed at the end before hanging up the phone. I soon found myself frowning again, my thoughts immediately rushing back in. My body fell backwards, landing on the soft pile of cushions underneath. I let my eyes wander the star-covered ceiling, humming to myself. A few seconds later I sat back up again, reaching out towards the end of my bed for my electronic keyboard.
My fingertips were already dancing across the keys, a melody softly beginning to form. It wasn't hard to find the lyrics to how I was feeling, using my heart as the words and my hands as the melody, everything fell into place.
''I found a boy, told me I was a star... Held the door, held my hand in the dark... And he's perfect on paper, but he's lying to my face... Does he think that I'm the kinda girl that needs to be saved?...'' I stopped myself once I heard the upstairs bathroom door open and close loudly, a voice echoing.
''Thanks Carol!'' I recognised the voice. My hands stilled. I quickly hopped off of my bed and walked over towards my closed bedroom door, opening it to leave the room. I closed it behind me and made my way down the stairs.
''Uh... hey mum?'' My words formed more of a question once I saw her prepping the sofa with pillows and a blanket.
''Hi, there'' She smiled, looking up to face me.
''Whose are those?'' I asked, gesturing down towards the boy-style sneaks near the bottom of the stairs. They looked like-
''Peter's''
''Why are they here?'' Teeth were biting my bottom lip.
''Because the rest of him is in the bathroom changing into pajamas, or whatever else I gave him to wear''
''Mum'' A soft whine left my throat.
''Hold on, hold on. There's something going on at home. It has something to do with his Aunty... Her and Happy are back in town, engaged. I already called her to let them know he was spending the night here'' She finished.
''Spending the night?'' My eyes widen. We both hear the door open from upstairs, our heads turning for a moment.
''Mum, I can't deal with any more drama today. Please...'' I begged. My mum stepped forward.
''Sweetheart...''
''I have had the worst day ever'' The words tumbled out. I hadn't even wanted to tell them anything.
''Sweetie, I'm guessing not as bad as his'' I glanced down, biting my lip.
''Yeah'' Soft footsteps tracked down the stairs. I turned around once my mum glanced up behind me with a warm smile.
''Hey'' Peter greeted my, eyes a little wide. I scrunched my lips together and nodded back at him.
''Well, I gotta say, that looks better on you than it does on me'' Mum jokes, pointing towards the shirt he was wearing. Even I smiled a little.
''Uh, It's kinda comfy'' Peter responds, chuckling.
''Well, so are my birkenstocks, but let's draw the line here'' The both of them chuckle. My lips only pursed in response.
''Yeah. Well... sleep tight'' Mum said softly.
''Hey, thanks again for letting me stay. Thank you'' Peter stumbled over his words, a small blush on his cheeks due to slight embarrassment. Mum just shook her head.
''Anytime'' She said before walking up the stairs.
''I probably should've called you, and asked how you feel about me being here. I didn't...'' He began once mum was out of sight.
''It's okay. You wouldn't have reached me. I turned my phone off'' I stayed still, rocking slowly on my spot. My feet stopped once Peter walked past me, looking completely exhausted. He headed straight for the couch but stayed standing, his eye looking distant.
''So, what's going on at home?'' I asked cautiously.
''I don't...'' Peter stammered, turning around.
''Well, if things ever get really tense, you know you can always hang here'' I threw my hands to the side with a soft laugh, trying to ease him a little. He sat down, eyes still looking straight ahead.
''I'm really scared'' Peter smacked his lips.
''I'm really scared this time'' Peter knew that his Aunt and Happy were getting close, dating even. But he thought she'd never look into marriage ever again, not since Uncle Ben... He was even a little mad that she would consider it, marrying someone else. Her and Uncle Ben were perfect, they raised him perfectly and in a loving home. When he died, he watched his Aunt fall into depression, barely showing any emotions for at least a year afterwards. The funeral was the second hardest day of his life, the first being saying goodbye to his parents without even realising.
Uncle Ben was his entire support system, his role model in life. He grew into a father figure, someone irreplaceable. The thought of his Aunt May going through all of that again scared the hell out of him. Peter never felt like he was going to accept Happy into the family, the spot was already taken and he couldn't see why May would want to add another.
He couldn't see her lose another person she loved, a person Peter may even love himself one day. Losing three parental figures was enough for a lifetime.
''It feels different already'' And they weren't even married yet.
''Oh, But... I mean, that's all it is right? Different? Doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad'' I tried to soothe, walking over to sit next to him. He turns to face me, eyes and face slightly red and blotchy. He had been crying.
''It's really hard to talk about it, you know? N-not with you, but anyone else, it's like...'' He trails off, glancing at me then straight ahead again.
''Well, you can always talk to me about anything anytime, okay?'' My heart was breaking for him. I know how much it hurt him to lose Uncle Ben, I didn't know him at the time but he spoke about him a lot, especially when we first started dating.
''I know, things are kinda weird between us, but, um, we're friends, right?''
''Yep'' Peter nodded, his eyes still on me. It was hard not to get lost in them. Every second passing I could feel myself being pulled back in, the thumping in my chest growing and growing. A warmth had settled in my stomach.
''You know that'' My voice broke near the end, softening. My eyes fell to his lips before meeting his eyes again. A breath hitched in my throat, the softest gasp leaving my parted lips. My chest was growing warm, heart beginning to beat a little faster. I still couldn't look away. Not when he was looking at me with a soft expression, his own eyes darting towards my lips then my eyes.
''Uh, do you need a pillow?'' I bounced up, glancing behind me then back towards him, trying to shake the overwhelming feelings. Peter sniffled, snapping himself out of it as well.
''Or... yeah'' Peter had to force his eyes away from her lips.
''Or no. No that's great'' He failed miserably. The feelings he had been pushing down for months rushing to the surface, spilling over.
''Yeah, thank you'' He was stumbling over his words, growing nervous.
''Okay. No problem'' My words sounded stiff and awkward but I tried to smile anyway. We just stopped and stared at each other for a second, not knowing what to do.
''Good night, Peter'' I spoke up, breaking the silence first. Without thinking, I lent forwards and wrapped my arms around him. It was a huge mistake, and I immediately tried to lean away once I felt the rush of tingles and the warmth spreading around me, enveloping me like a blanket. His arms circled around me before I could move.
Peter's features softened again, thankful for the comfort he was so desperately seeking. I exhaled, letting myself lose a battle with my self control. I hugged him a little tighter, almost needing it for myself. It was uncanny, the way my body was still responding to his touch so easily, becoming putty in his hands. With my self control dwindling by the second, I needed to retreat soon before I ended up doing something I'd regret.
But he was so warm and inviting and... intoxicating. I couldn't get enough.
My brain soon switched back on, pulling my body away slowly. I could feel my heart beating loudly in my chest, ringing in my ears. My mind forced me to look down, my self control slowly coming back.
But I made the deadly mistake of looking up, meeting his chocolaty, brown eyes. I was already done for. Peter must have felt it too, looking down at me as if I was the most gorgeous and fragile thing he ever saw. He instinctively bought a hand up to cup my cheek, swooping down quickly to close the small gap between our parted lips.
My heart was wanting to burst out of my chest, warmth radiating from his soft lips to my own, trembling ones. He held my cheek still, his other hand still on my waist not letting me go. Peter could feel it too, his heart almost leaping out painfully. His emotions are terribly heightened by his spidey-senses.
My eyes drifted close on their own, my heart winning a losing battle for the tiniest of moments. Self control what?
I pulled away swiftly, my eyes quickly opening to gaze into his. The same aww expression mirroring my own.
''You can't do that'' The tone was a little hoarse, it was even breaking a little.
''I know... I'm sorry'' His hand was still cupping my face. I needed to remove myself from here before I pulled him back in for another swee-
''I'll grab you some more pillows, these ones are quite flat'' I lept away as if I was just burned, my eyes going glassy as I bounded up the stairs towards my bedroom. My hand shut the door so fast, my breathing becoming irregular and slightly strained.
A lone tear left my eye and fell down, another one soon followed, then another. Before I knew it I was crying, crying over how painfully fast my heart was beating. Crying over the tingling warmth still dancing across my lips. Crying over the boy just meters away who had somehow broken my heart all over again.
After 10 minutes I managed to calm myself down enough to stop crying, my heart going back to it's original rhythm. I gathered the pillows and slowly walked back down the stairs, leaving me bedroom door open.
The pillows, blanket and my mum's clothes were neatly folded on top of the lounge, Peter nowhere in sight. My eyes were tearing up again, a pillow falling from my grip.
Again, I returned to my bedroom, willing myself not to cry. The keyboard was still on my bed, my mouth humming the tune again as I sat down, playing as I let my heart sing the words.

''And there's one more boy, he's from my past... We fell in love but it didn't last... 'Cause the second I figured it out, he pushes me away... I won't fight for love if you won't meet me halfway... And I say that I'm through but this song is still for you... All I want is love that lasts.... Is all I want too much to ask?... Is it something wrong with me?... All I want is a good guy... Are my expectations far too high?... Try my best but what can I say?... All I have is myself at the end of the day... But shouldn't that be enough for me?......''

Writetober Day 21: Chained
Notes:
Takes place in the very short future of a fic on my AO3. Also formally introduces a new OC that is already being tortured >:). Poor guy is actually a cinnamon roll deep down.
Warnings: None. It’s short and nothing really happens other than learning the OC’s name.
Day 21: Chained
I stared at Steelbeak as I watched him padlock a big heavy duty chain to my collar before wrapping it around and padlocking it to a pole.
“So… you dragged me out of the penthouse just to chain me up anyway?”
“High Command wants me to do some things. And I don’t want to have to worry about youse in the meantime. Just stay here, take a nap, and be good for once. Alright?” Steelbeak replied.
“Where can I possibly go?” I asked in a smartass tone.
“I’ll let that tone go without a punishment today. But keep it up and I’ll change my mind.” Steelbeak said, standing up.
“Okie dokie.” I grinned up to him.
“I’ll be back to check on youse later.” Steelbeak said, turning to walk out of the room.
I rested my hands behind my head and leaned back on the pole as I watched him leave the room. Huffing, I looked up to the ceiling. Now what?
I was the only one in here… or so I thought.
My ears perked up at the sound of footsteps approaching. Figuring it was just Steelbeak returning, I kept my eyes on the ceiling. That is until the person walked around me and I looked down as they stood next to me. They looked like they were limping when they walked.
It was one of the Eggman. I watched him as he slowly kneeled down, holding his torso as he did so. He grunted like he was in pain.
“…May I help you?” I asked after a few seconds.
“No. You did enough already. Unfortunately, I can’t help you.” He replied.
“Am I supposed to be shocked?” I asked. “Wait what do you mean I did enough already?”
He raised his hands to the helmet and took it off.
“I don’t want you getting hurt because of me.” The Eggman said. “And I’m sure you don’t want me getting hurt some more, right?”
The Eggman placed the helmet down beside him and went back to holding his stomach. Grimacing as he did so.
I moved my hands from behind me and sat up more as I recognized him.
“…It’s you!” I smiled. “You really are okay! I didn’t know whether to believe Steelbeak about it.”
“Well, here’s your proof that I’ll be okay… eventually. My wife isn’t happy about what happened and I think my ‘accident’ scared my kids…” He frowned.
“I can’t imagine what they’re going through. They did almost lose you. Does your wife know the truth?” I decided to ask.
“Of course. That’s why she isn’t happy about this. She wanted me to quit FOWL but I couldn’t. And still can’t now. We need the money even if it is dangerous. Not to mention how I really hate hurting others.”
“Surely there are other jobs that make a lot of money too. You don’t want your kids to grow up without a dad, right?” I questioned.
“Right. But that’s the thing… I’m far too young to retire from FOWL. And I can’t exactly quit and survive, yah know?” He replied.
“Oh…” I muttered, knowing what he was implying.
“You might be able to leave SHUSH whenever. But it’s not that simple here at FOWL.” He added.
“I see… they couldn’t at least send you to work under a different agent? It just had to be Steelbeak?”
“I don’t know.” He shrugged. “I didn’t want to try and fight with anyone about this. So here I am. He hasn’t really interacted with me yet though. I don’t think he knows I’m back yet.”
“Good. Let’s hope it stays that way for a while.” I smiled.
“I guess I should introduce myself huh? I’m Benjamin. My friends and family call me Benji for short.”
“Nice to meet you again, Benjamin. You can call me Agent 13 when you know who isn’t around to torment us. But… I guess you gotta call me ‘Lucky’ when he is.” I shook his hand.
“Heh. Works for me. Why the numbers?” Benji questioned.
“Some agents like going by the numbers their initials line up with. Others like going by their last name. It helps when more than one agent has the same last name but it gets tricky if they have the same initials.” I explained.
“What’s your last name if you don’t mind me asking?” Benji asked, understanding that concept better.
“Cain. I don’t think any other agents have that as a last name. I just like going by 13 more.” I said.
“Oohhh. We usually just go by either our first or last name.”
“Or nickname in Steelbeak’s case?” I asked and he nodded.
“So… he has you chained up while he does something for High Command? Why did he even bring you this time?” Benji asked curiously.
“Your guess is as good as mine. I haven’t done anything that needed a punishment afterwards so I’m not sure why I’m here.” I shrugged. “I just know whatever he is doing must be important if he has to chain me up like a dog and not have the time to watch me himself.”
“What… what did he do to you after…you know?” Benji asked nervously.
“He added an invisible fence to the only exit and hooked it up to this damn shock collar. Making any attempt to run away much harder.”
“Ouch. Did you try again and that’s how you figured it out?” He asked, feeling bad about it.
“Nope. He threw me into the open doorway. I could tell something was up and refused to go near the door. He finally got fed up and threw me towards the door and that’s how I found out. Not fun. I was out of it for a few minutes due to how bad that shock was.”
“I’m sorry.” Benji stated. “And I’m really sorry I can’t get that chain off. Looks really heavy.”
“It is. But don’t be sorry. This isn’t your fault and you have nothing to be sorry for. I would rather you didn’t do something so you don’t get killed over it when it involves me.” I replied. “I’ll be fine.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.” I confirmed. “Don’t worry about me. Just keep yourself and your family safe.”
We talked longer than we meant to since by the time we realized how long it had been…
“Benji!” Steelbeak suddenly said and startled both of us. “So good to see youse back again! See? I wasn’t lying about him makin’ a full recovery, dollface.”
“I guess not.” I replied as he walked up to us. “Can this come off now?”
“No. I only came by to check on youse. However, I could use Benji’s help with somethin’.” Steelbeak replied, grabbing his arm and pulling him up to his feet as he grabbed his helmet.
Benji tried to hold the sound of pain in as we shared one more glance to each other before he got dragged out of the room.

“Let me show you Metro City like you’ve never seen before”
(This is the sequel to Let me teach you to skate)
Sorry if it is a bit long, but I hope you like it....
This is based off my 2003 version of Livian ^^
It had been a few weeks since Daichi’s beautiful “princess” had surprised him by teaching him how to ice skate and spending quality time with him. And now the only thing Daichi (Atlas) wanted to do now was pay back the favour and surprise her, especially since Livian was always there surprising others and making them all warm and happy inside. The only problem for Daichi was that he didn’t know what to surprise his “princess” with. Livian meant the world to him, so he really wanted to do something extra special for her but he just didn’t know what to do. The ideas that he’d thought up already just weren’t good enough for him, so he continued to ponder on what he could do to surprise Livian.
One evening Daichi (Atlas) just sat there on the roof top of the Tokugawa mansion, looking kinda down in the dumps, he couldn’t think of anything to surprise Livian with and all he wanted to do was something special in return. As he was flying back home, Astro saw Daichi sitting alone and looking a bit down. So he decided to go over to him and see what was wrong.
As he sat there feeling a bit blue, Daichi looked up to see his young friend Astro coming towards him, he just averted his eyes the other way and let out a bit of a sad sigh. Astro had made it over to his friend, he sat next to Daichi looking a little concerned…
Astro: “Hey, At.. I mean Daichi, what’s wrong?”…
Daichi (with a bit of a sad shaky tone in his voice) : “I-it doesn’t matter little brother. I-it’s nothing”
Astro looked at him sincerely and replied: “It can’t be nothing, something’s upsetting you. Please tell me, I wanna help you”
Daichi (sighing): “Very well then little brother, you see Livian had planned and done this really nice surprise for me a few weeks ago and it was really sweet and kind of her. But now I want to pay back the favour and plan something special for her..”
Astro: “Oh I see..”
Daichi (Continuing): “But so far, everything I thought of isn’t good enough. I mean Livy mean’s the world to me and she’s always going out of her way to make others smile, I just want to do something extra special for her, something to make her smile”…
Astro leant over and hugged Daichi.
Astro(still hugging him and sincerely smiling): “It’s alright Daichi, I know you’ll come up with something great. I think Livian would be happy with anything you come up with, she loves spending time with you. And hey it the thought that counts”
Daichi just sat there smiling and hugging Astro back.
Daichi: “Thank you little brother, you’re right. I’ll try not to worry so much, I’ll just wait until that great idea comes along”
Astro (smiling): “And when it does, I’m sure Livian will love it very much”.
The two got up off the the roof top ledge, Daichi thanked Astro once more and waved good bye as astro blasted off back towards his home. As he stood there he kept his little brother’s words in mind and decided to wait until that  great idea would come along.
Another week went by and Daichi continued to wait for this great idea to pop into his head, but to not worry he kept himself busy by doing what he loves doing best- being cheekily flirtatious and hanging about with his princess when she had some free time.
Though one late afternoon/ early evening as he and his princess were walking through the park together back to their homes, Livian saw a flock of birds fly by.  The two stopped to watch..
As Livian watched the birds fly about together she looked a bit sad..
Livian (sighing to herself and looking a bit sad): “ Someday I’ll fly up in the sky like them. Some day.”
Daichi could see how upset his princess was, he looked at her with sorrowful eyes. He knew how badly Livian dreamt of flying up in the air-  she couldn’t fly like Astro, Epsilon or himself- Livian was built to be the fastest robot in Metro City that could fly across land by foot, not to fly in the air.
Suddenly, that’s when it hit him, the great surprise idea he’d been dying to find. Daichi decided to pay his princess  back for her lovely surprise she had for him by  surprising Livy and showing her parts of Metro City like she’s never seen before. He would for fill her dream to fly through the air and in the only way he knew how.
After spending the last two days coming up with and planning out his surprise for his princess, Daichi (Atlas) gave his princess a call and told her to meet up with him tonight at the old statue in the middle of Central park, oh and also to be in battle form.
Of course Livy agreed, she couldn’t wait to meet up with her naughty red-headed BF tonight and spend some time with him.
Later that night, Atlas (Daichi) (in his battle form) awaited the arrival of his princess by the old statue in the park. He stood there with his arms crossed and his back leaning against the statue as he waited. Though he didn’t have to wait long at all, she came zipping through the park and arrived there at the statue in no time - what can you say she’s the fastest robot in Metro City.
Atlas leant forward off of the statue and walked up and over to greet his battle beauty princess. Livian smiled and greeted her bad boy BF with a big warm loving hug. Then out excitement she asked:
Livian (All cheeky and excited): “So Mr.Tough Guy, what’s this meet up all about, hmm?”
Atlas (Smirking): “Well my princess it’s a surprise and I don’t want to ruin it for you”.
Livian (still excited and sincerely smiling): “Aww, ok then”.
Atlas smiled, then he gently took his princess by the hand. Pulling her along as the two walked together through the park under the starry night sky. The two made their way down to the lake where they sat down under a tree and looked out into the beautiful night sky and at the splendid full moon.
As Livian rested her head against his chest and gazed upon at the stars, Atlas looked at his princess sincerely smiling. With his arm gently wrapped around her waist, he then carefully sat up and softly spoke…
Atlas: “ Hey Livy, come with me. I want to show you my surprise”
Livian (siting up and leaning against his shoulder, she smiled): “Oh, ok then”.
They stood up, he held her by the hands and sincerely looked into her beautiful crystal blue eyes and spoke from his heart.
Atlas: “ Livy, I know how much you’ve always dreamt of flying and just being up in the sky. So I thought maybe I could help do that for you…”
Her eyes widened a little and her rosy cheeks were getting a little redder.
Atlas (taking a deep breath and slowly releasing, replied): “What I’m trying to say Livian is let me show you Metro City like you’ve never seen before. Let me take you up in the air and show you what it’s like to fly”…
She stood there holding his hands speechless, her face was all rosy red and her eyes began to well up with tears of joy, slowly trickling down her face as she gave Atlas the most heartfelt smile.
Livian: “ Y-You would do that.. f-for me?”
As he lovingly smiled at his princess and gently wiped away the happy tears trickling down her soft delicate face, he replied:
Atlas: “ Of course Livy, you are my princess and I would do anything to make you smile”.
Livian let her fingers slip out of his hands, she then tightly wrapped them around his upper waist hugging him gratefully  as she let more tears of joy trickle down her face once more. Atlas just smiled and held her there in his arms as his princess hugged him.
A  few minutes later, they gently let go of one another, then without her know abouts Atlas cheekily picked up his princess and held her in his arms bridal style. This freaked out and startled poor Livy a little since she can be a bit jumpy when he or others do stuff like that to her.
She sat their in his arms for a moment, all flustered, cute and a little pouty. Atlas smirked at her a little.
Livian: “ Atlas don’t do that. You know I can get a bit jumpy”.
Atlas (a bit smirky and smiling): “ Aww I’m sorry my princess, but I gotta take you up in the sky some how”.
Livian (rolling her eyes and smiling): “Alright then, next time just let me know you’re going to pick me up before you do it”.
Atlas just smiled and gently kissed her forehead- :” Ok then Livy. Now just hold on tight to me”.
Livian (in a cheeky and flirtatious tone): “Oki doki, but you better not drop me Atlas or you’re in big trouble”.
Atlas (cheekily raising his brow at her): “I wouldn’t dare drop you Livy. Now are you holding on tight?”
Livian (rolling her eyes and smiling): “Yes, I am”.
Atlas: “Alright then, here we go”.
Then all of a sudden he flew up and off the ground into the night sky with his princess in his arms. Livian clung onto him and closed her eyes for a moment, his sudden take off into the air startled and freaked her out a little…
Atlas looked down at his slightly frightened princess with her eyes tightly closed. He just lovingly smirked at her and replied:
“Come on Livy it’s alright now, we’re off the ground. You can open your eyes now”.
Livian was a little hesitant at first, she opened one eye and quickly closed it, then she opened them both. Her eyes widened and her face was glowing with surprise. She was really up in the air, flying in the sky and she could finally see how beautiful Metro City looked from up in the air.
From up in the sky Metro City looked like a beautiful snow globe, all the twinkling lights from the street and buildings, the people walking by now resembling ants from up in the sky and the warm, welcoming aesthetic from the scenery  and landscape that surrounded their beautiful city.
Livian (taking in the view): “I-It’s so beautiful and breath taking, well you know what I mean”.
Atlas (smiling at his princess): “ I do Livy, but you haven’t seen nothing yet, this is just the tip of the ice burg”.
Still holding on tight onto Atlas, Livian took in the beautiful view as Atlas flew her around to the most beautiful places in Metro City that he knew of. She enjoyed each sight he took her to, Livian loved being up in the sky and especially in the comfort of her bad boy BF’s arms. Occasionally, as she looked at the view, Livian looked up at Atlas and just lovingly smiled at him- she was ever so grateful for what he’d done for her tonight..
As she looked at the city from up above and focused on the view below, Atlas would look at his princess- it really touched his heart to see how happy and delighted she was. It made him feel good and warm inside that he could help for fill Livian’s one true dream. Atlas then stopped in the sky for a moment, out of curiosity Livy looked up at him:
Livian: “What’s the matter Atlas?”
Atlas (with a warm heartfelt smile): “ Nothing Livy, I just thought maybe we could have a moment”.
She just smiled and rested her head against his chest and snuggled into him. Atlas rested his head against hers and cuddled her back. The two just snuggled together as he hovered in the beautiful night sky.
He then gently lifted his head off hers and whispered:
Atlas( a little blushie): “H-Hey Livy, Can I take you some where special?”
Livian (all cute and slightly blushie): “ Oh, um sure Atlas, I would love to”.
Atlas (cutely smiling): “Ok then. Close your eyes Livy”.
Livian: “If you say so then” and she softly closed her eyes.
Livian held on tight once more as Atlas flew of into the night sky. He flew her to the tallest building in Metro city. The view from the roof top was absolutely beautiful and he knew his princess would love it so much. He landed on the rooftop, Livian still kept her eyes closed. Atlas then slowly and gently put her foot first down on the ground, he then carefully guided her over to the railing.
Livian (being cheeky): “Can I open my eyes yet?”
Atlas (holding onto Livian’s arm): “Not yet Livy”.
Livian( being cheeky again asked): ‘How about now Mr. Tough Guy?”
Atlas (shaking his head and rolling his eyes cheekily): “ Just wait Livy, trust me”.
The two made it over to the railing. Atlas then let go of Livian’s arm gently, then he smiled:
Atlas: “You can open your eyes now my princess”.
Livian (with an excited smile): “Ok then”.
When she opened them, she was truly surprised at the spectacular view. The buildings and everything lit up and gleamed like diamonds- it was so beautiful. she stood there slouched, and rested her arms on the railing with her cheeks resting in the palm of her hands. Livian had never realised how beautiful Metro City was at night and now she had finally seen the true beauty of the city at night from way up high.
Livy looked over her shoulder to Atlas behind her, he stood there sincerely smiling at his princess. Livy turned herself away from the railing and walked up to Atlas (he was about five foot apart from her). She looked into his beautiful green eyes sincerely and tenderly- causing him to blush a little. Livian got real close to Atlas, he was quite rosy red in the cheeks now. Livy then standing on her tippy toes, leant forward and lovingly kissed him on the lips…
After kissing her bad boy BF, Livian wrapped her arms around him and rested her head against his shoulder. Then she softly whispered:
Livian: “Thank you Atlas, for everything. What you did for me tonight was really sweet and it means a lot to me”.
He wrapped his arms around her and whispered back:
Atlas: “ You’re welcome my princess, and hey it’s the least I could do after what you did for me”.
Livian lovingly smiled and snuggled Atlas some more. The two went back over to the the railing, taking in the beautiful view and enjoying one another's company.
An hour and a half later, Atlas picked up his princess once more-making sure to tell her before hand though and took her back with him to the Tokugawa mansion. When the two got back there, they transformed back into their human forms.
Daichi (Atlas) then took his princess by the hand and started walking down the hallway quietly.
Livian a little puzzled asked: “ Daichi where are we going?”
He turned his head back towards her smiling and replied: “I thought we could spend the rest of the night watching some movies in my den”.
Livian (cutesy blushing and smiling): “ Oh, ok. Sounds good to me”.
Daichi just smiled and cutesy blushed back a little too.
When they got down to his den, the two sat on the couch and snuggled together. They ended a lovely evening outing with some good old action and comedy movies.
As the two snuggled and watched movies late into the night, Livian felt herself drift off to sleep. The poor girl had warn herself out having all that fun with her bad boy BF. She fell sound asleep with her head resting on his chest and her arms around his waist.  Daichi looked down at his sleeping princess, he gently pulled the blanket over her a bit more and smiled at her sincerely.
Daichi was glad that his princess had a wonderful time tonight, he loved seeing his princess happy, her warm loving smile always made him feel all warm and tingly inside. Not long after he turned off the movie , Daichi fell asleep with Livian by his side.
He fell asleep knowing he helped his princess for fill her dream to fly and that he got to spend more time with Livian too.
