Happy Spooky Season! I was wondering if I could request a platonic Rowan looking out for Aelin's teen sister? I feel like he'd be a strict, but protective big brother by insisting on dropping her off at places, like the theatre, picking her up again, accompanying her into Orynth, guarding her during balls (if he's busy then assigning his former cadre to do it for him), etc. And she gets annoyed by it, until his behaviour comes in clutch one day when he spots her in some kind of sticky situation and helps her out.

When Rowan first came into your and Aelin’s life you were very annoyed by him

He was always in your business and annoying you

But you annoyed him so things were even

You didn’t trust Rowan at first. Hell you didn’t trust anyone around your older sister, especially someone you could see her falling for

Aelin told you about Chaol and you hated him. Who was he to say that you and your sister were monsters?

After Maeve and Erawan you worked out your differences with Chaol and Dorain

Speaking of Dorian, you had a massive crush on him but Rowan shut that down real quick

He also shut down your crush on Petrah Blueblood, “one person in this group being with a witch is enough.” Rowan had scolded. You just stuck your tongue out at him and stomped off to your room

Aelin and Rowan were like your surrogate parents

Your big sister had looked after you all your life

Aelin was your protector and made sure you never had to train to be what she was, but enough to fight and cause the most harm to someone who was trying to hurt you

You were a feral child around Arobynn because you always got bad vibes from him. You also hated the way he looked at your sister

Aelin did baby you, she still does and so does Rowan, but she never hid the truth from you

Once Terrasen was rebuilt, as princess, you started to get involved with the community. Your main focus being schools and the public library

When not attending his kingly duties Rowan was escorting you from event to event, making sure you stayed safe

“Ro, there has never been an attempt. I don’t need a babysitter, I can handle myself.” Rowan raised a silver brow at you. “There hasn’t been one because I’m good at my job, little sister.” The darkness in his voice sent a shiver down your spine and made you think about your security detail and how protected you and your kingdom are

During special events if Rowan can’t watch you like a hawk one of the Cadre is assigned to you

Fenrys is for low risk events; putting the two of you together is beyond chaotic. You two are the ultimate sibling duo and you always have fun with Fenrys. He absolutely sees you a little sister and loves having you as a companion especially after Connall

Lorcan is for high risk outings; Lorcan is scary dog privilege. He stares down anyone who even breathes in your direction. Lorcan stands faithfully by your side, arms crossed and weapons on display, for hours on end. As much as you would like to mess with him, you actually behave when Lorcan is around. You know if he’s escorting you it’s serious

Gavriel is just back up; He’s your uncle! Of course he’s more than happy to drop everything to be with his niece. Plus he spoils you to make up for years lost out on family time

As much as you find Rowan’s presence annoying at times there finally came a day where you were thankful for his protection

Heading out to a speaking engagement at the primary school you were trying to find any Cadre members to escort you instead of two security guards

Rowan has your schedule, so he should’ve been free. But alas, the buzzard was stuck in meetings with your sister

Uncle Gav was out doing you have no idea what, Lorcan was home with Elide, and Fenrys was away with Vaughn, who you still haven’t actually laid eyes on by the way

You opted to take two of your normal guards to escort you

But without Rowan to walk them through security protocols you were walking around without knowing about any threats

Everything was going smooth. You made it to the school, your talk with the children went very well! They loved to hear stories from you about the Queen and King. They loved to play with you and tell you anything that pops into their little heads

It wasn’t until you were on the way back to the castle that trouble found you

Your carriage was stopped abruptly, the horses neighing and rearing up on their hind legs at the danger in the middle of the road

“Stay here, princess!” Your guards shout, leaving you alone closed in the carriage. You weren’t afraid at first. Not until you heard shouting and fighting. You couldn’t hear much. The men who stopped you were a small group. They wanted revenge on Aelin for killing Dorian’s father. Who know loyalists to the former King of Adarlan were around

Before things could escalate further a flash of white light had you shielding your eyes as you peer out the window, the men thudding against the ground

“Take them to the prison!” You had never been so relieved to hear Rowan’s voice. You stayed locked in the carriage until he came and got you

When Rowan opens the door you fling yourself into him, wrapping your arms around him neck. “I have never been so grateful for you not minding your business.” Your brother laughs, hugging you back. “Let’s get you home, Aelin has been worried.”

Throne of Glass Roadtrip Headcanons

• Aelin plans the trip and insists on driving, only because she lied about where y’all are going and wants to surprise everyone

• She also only packed wine and chocolate for snacks

• Lorcan has packed enough to compensate for everything Aelin didn’t pack (and more)

• Aelin didn’t book a hotel or anywhere to stay, but you’ll be fine because she “knows a guy” literally everywhere you go

• Rowan is riding shotgun at first, but he keeps trying to give Aelin directions with Google Maps so she makes him switch seats with Fenrys

• Fenrys is moved up to shotgun for his superior DJ skills, which even get Manon singing along

• Rowan is frustrated at first that he got moved to the backseat, but eventually gives up and falls asleep for the rest of the ride

• Dorian is watching TikToks on his phone way too loud and showing you all of the funniest ones (he’ll eventually run out of battery and realize he forgot a charger. Manon has one but lies and says she doesn’t so that she doesn’t have to listen to it anymore)

• Aedion starts complaining that snacks aren’t sufficient and we need to stop for real food, and Gavriel agrees

• Manon finds a Waffle House on the route and Aelin agrees to stop there, but Dorian and Lysandra want to go somewhere nicer to eat (they’re overruled)

• Aelin and/or Manon start a fight at Waffle House (but Lysandra is the one who kicks ass)

• You arrive at Aelin’s friend’s house where you are all staying, and it’s way nicer than you all expected

• Lorcan doesn’t trust it and says he won’t stay there, until Elide convinces him it’ll be fine

• It would be the nicest vacation you’d ever been on, and it’s really best if you don't ask Aelin questions about how she pulled it off

poly!Rowaelin headcanons

I’ve never done these but I couldn’t get them out of my head so here’s my poly!Rowaelin headcanons. a bit nsfw at the end.

In the beginning there would be a lot of miscommunication and jealousy, but you’d slowly figure it out. 

Aelin would turn into a baby when she’s sick, 100%, and let you and Rowan wait on her hand and foot for a few days

Rowan would refuse to admit he’s sick or injured until you and Aelin cornered him. 

You’d start hiding when you get sick because they would both turn ridiculous and threaten to murder anyone who comes close. They caught on to it eventually & Aelin threatened to tie you to the bed while Rowan lectured you.  

Both of them would be so fussy. Aelin ended up on the other side of 'Territorial Face bullshit,' and nobody lets her forget it.

Let’s not forget Rowan is actually an asshole. A caring one, but still an asshole & the first time you matched his energy he was shocked, then thrilled.   

If Aelin wants time alone with you she kicks Rowan out. He doesn’t complain but she pouts if he does it to her. 

Aelin would demand to braid your hair each morning, brush already in hand, always because “Rowan won’t let me.” Then Rowan would tug on your braid every chance he got. 

FILTHY MOUTHS. They’d make competitions out of seeing who can make you blush first & especially love to tell you they’re going to fuck the attitude out of you. 

Aelin would love reading to you, especially romance books & you’d alternate reading the filthy parts until Rowan snapped and took it away. Then you’d go reenact it 

They kept bickering & you and Aedion were tired of it so you played a game: every time they said something mean to each other, you two would say something nice. Took them a few days to catch on. Also sparked some fantastic jealous sex “one ashryver wasn’t enough for you, hm?”

Don’t think about him when he’s being tortured and the only thing that got him through was her smiling face, her rare laugh, and dazzling smile. Don’t think about him taking beatings for her, and asking Ben everyday when she’s going to be back from the Red Assasins. Don’t think about him watching over her from past the grave. He cried too when she visited his grave. He heard her speech. Don’t think about what could have happened if he married her and became king. Formerly known as Adarlan's greatest assassin, Celaena Sardothien, Aelin is the last surviving member of the Galathynius bloodline. Her parents, Rhoe Galathynius and Evalin Ashryver, died in their kingdom of Orynth, with Aelin in between them in bed.

As a young girl, she ran away from her home to escape the King of Adarlan as he brought her kingdom to its knees. She was found by Arobynn Hamel the king of the assassins (who had been entranced by the ghost of Elena). He gave her two choices: to train with him and become an assassin or to live on the streets.

Throughout her life, Aelin hid her true identity, from everyone.

At the age of sixteen, she was sent to Skull's Bay with Sam Cortland (another assassin and boy she grew up with) to enact a deal with the pirate lord. However, when finding out it was a slave deal, she and Sam set them free.

In retaliation, Arobynn beat her badly and sent her to train with the Silent Assassins in the Red Desert where she learnt more about herself than anything else. On her journey there, she met Yrene Towers in a run-down pub and taught her how to defend herself, as well as leaving her with a sack of coins. During her time in the Red Desert, she met Ansel of Briarcliff.

When Celaena/Aelin came back to Rifthold, she realised her feelings for Sam, and after a while, they decided to leave Arobynn's assassin's guild.

Arobynn did not like this. And within a few months, Sam was dead and Celaena was sent to Endovier's salt mines for avenging her lover's death.

That's how she came to be the king's champion. The king's son, Dorian, chose her as his champion. After surviving the trials and tribulations sent her way, she signed a contract and agreed to be in the king's survive for four years. To do his bidding.

Celaena and Aelin are the same woman but have slightly different personalities. Celaena is more sly, cunning, and willing to use whatever means necessary to achieve her goals. She's independent and seeks out trouble.

Aelin has a lot of responsibility to carry, she's a fae princess and the last of her line in succession. Although when she claims her original name, she has matured, Aelin starts to think before she acts.

This woman is one of the most powerful beings. Going head to head with gods and goddesses themselves, she's fallen through worlds and won wars.

The two of them get waaayyy over protective when you find out you’re pregnant

Especially Rowan bc of everything that happened with Lyria

He was terrified that he’d lose you and the baby

But you and Aelin were there to comfort him and remind him that the evil was gone, you were safe

Rowan refused to leave your side, insisting that he was always around to guard you and you weren’t even showing yet

You started going to more court meetings just so he would do his kingly duties

Aelin spoiled you more than usual

Any junk food you wanted she got it for you! From chocolates to any wild sandwich you could think of it was in your hands

When your bump started showing you were so happy. You could finally feel your little babe and could talk to your stomach without getting an insane looks

Since you were about 3-4 months along you could still fit in your clothes so you put on one of your favorite dresses and set out to find your mates to show them

You find them in the throne room, just having finished a meeting with the lords

You keep your hands in front of your stomach as you walk up to them and you have this stupid grin on your face

“Y/n! Good morning sweet girl, how are you.” Aelin cooed at you as she raced off her throne to you, Rowan on her heels

“Perfect. Look!” You remove your hands to show off the small bump

Aelin let’s out a cry covering her mouth, “it’s so cute! That’s our babe ohh.” And she kissed you softly

Rowan was mesmerized by it. Silver lined his eyes, his lips pulled into a tight smile

He dropped to his knees and cradled your stomach between his hands leaving feather soft kisses across it, “this is amazing.” He whispered as you ran your fingers through his silver hair

You and Aelin would shop for baby clothes during your free afternoons with Rowan acting as your bodyguard of course

Rowan would growl at anyone who looked at you

It didn’t matter if it was a friend or stranger

Rowan and Lorcan almost got into a fight bc he accidentally growled at Elide for touching your bump

The farther into your pregnancy the more fatigued you got

Eventually you just stayed in bed resting and taking a few walks during the day

Your walks were your alone time with the babe since your mates were always around

You’d point out your favorite flowers in the garden, tell them about Aelin and Rowan, and the latest gossip

This child was going to be the biggest snoop because of you

They would make sure you had everything you needed during your pregnancy

And most importantly that you were healthy and comfortable

Sometimes Aelin would massage your shoulders while Rowan rubbed your feet and ankles

They loved talking to the babe before bed, “were you nice to your mama today?” “What did you two do?” “We already love you so much baby.”

Rowaelin’s daughter Headcanon

Rowaelin’s daughter grows up listening to her parents reading her story books about myths and fairytales, far of lands and forgotten civilisations. One day Rowan tells her of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. As a bright eyed five year old she is in awe, completely enchanted.

One day Fenrys has a brilliant idea. Dorian, Aelin, Fenrys and Lysandra dress up as the four horsemen. They walk past her in the corner of her vision/ stand in the middle distance in front of her.

After several hours she is beyond terrified, convinced that the end of days is near, and trying to explain to her dad in her blurred 5 year old speech. When she finds out that it was just a prank she is so angry fire starts flooding out of her hands - and that’s how she learns about her power.

BODY MEME: List 5 random/unique things about your muses body.

aelin has terrible body image after the events of kingdom of ash. for weeks, any time she would look in the mirror naked she would struggle with remembering if this was reality or if she was in one of maeve's torture dreams. she stays fully clothed for a while.

speaking of scars– or lack-there of– any time she accidentally gets a scratch or cut she purposefully waits to see a healer so that it will leave a scar. she misses her scars deeply. they were a huge part of her identity and her story of everything she'd been through.

she loves the sun and although it doesn't get particularly warm in terrasen, she can always be found outside when the sun is shining. rowan even set up a private area for her to sunbathe because she likes to do so sans clothing. because, you know, tan lines are very un-queenly.

her left wrist bothers her from time to time, ever since arobynn forced her to break her hand back when she was an assassin. it didn't heal quite right.

the most sensitive parts of her are her neck and her back. even something as small as a brush of a hand or warm breath across her skin can have her purring.
