I have some notes about my sins 4 Lore Fix save to share;

Ages have been mostly figured out since it's supposed to be like a redone Sims 1 timeline. Sims 3 elders and adults close to elder hood are dead. Ones who were young adults or very early into adulthood are elders. Teens are now adults. Children and toddlers are young adults -> those who are children are to be considered later in their young adult years, like late twenties maybe early thirties while toddlers are earlier into young adulthood. I've not decided where babies fall into this yet, though I'm leaning towards early college years. Some characters that were not shown in Sims 1 / had appearances in Sims 3 where some of the world's were at a different time point (bc they LOVE making me work overtime on this) are gonna be dependant. I haven't decided if the Caliente twins are gonna be college student age or not. Meanwhile the Dreamers are going to be teens, as is Brandi Broke (nee Newbie).

Also Katrina doesn't exist. I'm giving the girls their actual mother back.

Kaylynn is a character who will be locked into her age. Because I got fed up of trying to figure out what the hell she was doing in 3 as a child, the same age as Mortimer, when she wasn't supposed to be. I'm trying to bridge the gap in the Landgraab family of like. The Sims 2 Landgraabs and the Sims 3 Landgraabs. We also have to consider Sims 1/Sims Bustin Out Malcolm Landgraab and where the fuck they keep getting this name. I also have decided where Johnny Zest features into this and that he's Sims 3 Malcolm Landgraab's bastard son, and the result of a hook up with Darlene Bunch the day before his wedding to his wife Hannelore.

On that note, I'm planning on keeping at least some of the iconic sims from 4 in this save but I haven't decided who all is staying or nah. The Pancakes are am obvious given. I do really like the Growing Together families. Judith Ward stays.

I'm also debating on what families are coming back and how as well as what differences they'll face but I've got a good bit in that area already. I'm excited bc I'm putting in an Easter egg family for me and Watta with our favorite Sim we ever created and his family. I thought about adding in another of my favorite families I made but it's been so long and that save was So Messy do probs not.

I usually end up watching Bob's Burgers whenever I play and work on the save and I had the epiphany that Daniel Pleasant as a teenager is Jimmy Jr. Like tell me you can't see it.

With Rose, it’s so much easier than Lo ever imagined. She’dexpected to be shut out and shunned, pushed away, but if there’s a divide thenRose is reaching across it too. Darling Rose. The sister she never knew sheneeded.

Hugo is a different kettle of fish entirely.

It occurs to Lo one day that she hasn’t seen Hugo in aboutfour months. She’s at coffee with her Greengrass-side cousins, who she sees farmore than she should, probably, and they’ve come to a coffee place called StarWhale!, complete with exclamation mark. It’s the last place she saw Hugo, quiteby chance, and that gets her thinking while she’s waiting for her turmeric latte.

‘That,’ says cousin Julius, his nose wrinkled up, ‘sounds sodisgusting.’

‘I’ve given up caffeine.’ Lo shoots him a very cold look. ‘Whatdo you expect me to do, drink hot chocolate instead?’

‘Maybe tea?’ ventures Fenella a bit nervously. ‘Roiboos issuper nice.’

‘Roi-what the fuck?’ Scorpius looks up from his phone at last.‘You’ve got fancy as fuck, Fen-fen.’

‘Don’t swear,’ gasps Julius, fumbling to cover Fen’s earsway too late, ‘fucking hell, Scorpius.’

‘She’s fourteen, not six.’ Scorpius tips a lazy wink over atFen and she starts to giggle, turning away to avoid her older brother’s glare.

They’re annoying, Lo’s cousins, but she loves them anyway.Plus, Uncle Aeneas always buys her nice things to piss off her mum, so there’sthat.

‘Okay, so, hypothetically,’ she begins, twirling a finger, ‘howoften would you say it’s normal to see adult siblings?’

‘How adult?’ Julius raises an eyebrow at her. He’s very goodat it. He’s got the traditional heavy Greengrass brows (so does Fen, but she’syet to grow into them) and when he lifts one in that way, slow-slow, he lookslike an Ancient Greek sculpture. Lo’s been jealous of that since he learned howto do it. It seems highly unfair that she got the ginger genes while he and Fengot those.

‘Like, newly adult. Recently left Hogwarts. Not, like,middle-aged adult with kids.’

‘Dunno.’ Scorpius scratches his chin, expression pensive. ‘Depends,I guess. Al sees James quite a lot, I think. And you see Rose, right?’

‘Yeah. All the time. So we’d agree four months is a longtime not to see them?’

Fen frowns thoughtfully. ‘I guess not if they live, like,across the country? If they can’t apparate.’

‘But if they can apparate, and also live in London too?’

Fen shrugs. ‘Then yeah, I guess that is a long time.’

‘Don’t say I guess so much, Fen, it makes you sounduncertain,’ butts in Julius, always keen to seize a brotherly teaching moment,and then turns to Lo. ‘But yeah. I’d say that’s a while.’

‘Cool. Thanks. I have to go in that case.’

‘What?’

‘Aw, Lo, c’mon. I need you to get me Caterwaul tickets.’ Scorpiusmakes the very picture of misery sat there, but Lo ignores him. He haspractised the pose enough times to be a master.

‘Laters, losers.’ With that she sails off, pausing only to switchher turmeric latte into a take-out cup.

She bins it first chance she gets. Disgusting. She’s goingback to coffee.

‘Hello?’ The boy who answers the door is not at all what Lowas expecting. She sizes him up with intent consideration. He must only beeighteen or nineteen, still teen-young, a little too much youthful intensity inhis eyes and awkwardness in his long legs. All the same, he’s hot, in an indie-emo-rockerkind of way. Lo likes the way his dark curls fall into his eyes.

‘Who are you?’ She says it rather less dismissively than shemight otherwise. It’s never a bad thing to have a hot boy on-side.

‘I’m Leon. Who are you?’

‘I’m Leonora. Look at that.’

‘Hm,’ he says, a sudden smile easing its way across hisface, ‘would you look.’

He leans one shoulder against the doorframe, casual as youlike, and makes no attempt to hide it as his eyes rake up and down her and comeback up looking interested.

‘I’m Hugo’s sister,’ she tells him, before he says anythinghe might regret. ‘He does live here, yeah?’

‘Oh, shit. Yeah, he lives here. He never told me his sisterwas hot.’

‘I’m his bastard half-sister,’ Lo clarifies, following Leoninto the dingy flat. ‘Oh, fuck, this place is gross.’

It smells of weed and unwashed boy. The curtains are stillclosed, dirty clothes all over the floor. The only clean things Lo can see area set of drums in the corner and a few gleaming guitars, so shiny she can seeher distorted reflection in them.

Leon catches her looking that way. ‘We’ve got a gig on theweekend. We were practising late last night, so Hugo’s still asleep. Dunno howwe didn’t get any noise complaints, but we’re not going to tempt fate byasking.’

Lo might not be the best witch who ever lived—indeed, mightstruggle with some of the basics—but she does have an uncanny way of tellingwhat wards are on a place, and she felt the twelve noise-muffling ones as shewalked through the door.

‘Probs the spells,’ she says off-hand. ‘Is that… did thatuse to be pizza?’

Leon’s looking at her in that way boys do when a hot girlsays something weird, kind of put-off, patronising, and intrigued all at thesame time.

He shrugs. ‘Dunno.’

‘Okay. This is awful. Where’s Hugo’s room, please?’

Leon points at one closed door, the paint peeling off aroundthe handle, and Lo picks her way across the filthy floor to get there.

‘Have none of you heard of housework charms,’ she mutters asshe goes, and behind her Leon makes a confused noise. Guess that answers thatquestion.

She knocks on the door four times, then four times again,and when she gets no response she just pushes the door open and slides in. Thisroom, blissfully, is a little cleaner than the sitting room. Lo can only seethree pairs of unwashed briefs on the floor, for starters, and there’s a sheeton the bed, which is a good start.

Hugo’s still fast asleep. Unrepentant, Lo pulls out herwand.

‘Aguamenti.’

Hugo sits up with a gasp, thoroughly doused in water, andbellows.

‘What the fuck!’

When he spots Lo, he gathers his wet duvet to himself asfast as he can, expression thunderous, and repeats, ‘What the fuck.’

‘We’re going for breakfast,’ says Lo, tucking her wand backdown the side of her boot. ‘If I stay in this stinkhole one second longer, I’llhave to go Voldemort on all your arses.’

Hugo just glares at her balefully, sleep-mussed, one side ofhis curly red hair squashed flat. ‘I’m too hungover for breakfast.’

‘Get over it. We’re going.’

Thirty minutes later—delayed by Lo’s insistence Hugo shower—theyare sat at a brunch place in Clapham. Lo is eyeing Hugo up with interest. She’sonly ever seen him with Rose since school, and with family he always wears justjeans and a t-shirt or sweater, the most basic boy uniform there is.

Now she’s made him choose in a hurry though, he’s full-onindie rocker. Ironic floral shirt, tight-fitting jeans, boots, silver rings, thewhole fucking caboodle. She’s slightly surprised he’s not put eyeliner and ahairband on.

‘So this,’ she says at last, gesturing up and down Hugo, ‘thisis a Look.’

He squints at her from behind his sunglasses. Those arecool, too, hipster-style, and Lo’s still trying to process staid little Hugobeing… well, this.

‘So is this like a rebellious phase, or something?’ Shestarts to play with a packet of sugar, squishing it between her red-paintednails. ‘Or a gender thing, or—’

‘Our band’s doing well,’ Hugo interrupts. ‘I mean, reallywell. This gig we’ve got at the weekend—there’s a scout coming. He’s been tohear us before. He’s bringing his boss this time.’

‘Wait, really? You never mention it. I assumed it was somesmall-time thing going terribly.’

‘I don’t,’ says Hugo carefully, ‘like my family nosing intomy business.’

‘Why are you telling me?’

The corner of his mouth pulls up in a half-smile, achinglycool. ‘Because you won’t tell.’

Well, Lo supposes that’s true. Who would she tell amongstthe Weasleys, anyway? Only Rose, and even that she’d hold out on, because sensibleRose would probably think it was nuts.

‘Can I come?’

Hugo frowns. ‘Where?’

‘To the gig. I want to hear you.’

He shifts in his chair, uncomfortable. ‘Why?’

‘Because you’re my brother, dipshit. I want to be supportiveand all that lame crap.’

‘I don’t know.’ The blank lenses of his sunglasses stare ather. ‘I mean—they’re Muggles, Lo.’

‘Oh,’ she says, and then, ‘Oh. That explains a lot. Is that why you never bring them to meetus?’

‘Partly.’

‘Well, what else?’

‘It’s just… I’m really enjoying being away from the family.With Muggles, you know? None of them even know about Uncle Harry or Mum and Dad.They don’t give a single shit. It’s amazing. It’s the first time I’m not beingcompared to anyone or told stories about my cousins or—you know, all thatbullshit. I don’t want to change that.’

‘So you haven’t told them you’re a—’

‘Wizard? Fuck no. They’d think I was on a bad trip.’

‘Well,’ says Lo, processing all of this. ‘Fine. I won’t sayanything. Can I come?’

‘You really want to?’

‘Fuck yeah. I’ll chat you up like mad to this scout. I’m very persuasive.’ She smirks at him overthe top of her coffee, fluttering her mascara-laden lashes to prove the point,and Hugo wavers.

‘Well….’

‘I’ll tell Rose if you don’t.’

‘Fine. Deal.’

They’re good. Lo doesn’t know what to do about it. Up thereon stage, the crowd frantic with adoration around her, Hugo leaning into themicrophone like he’s never done anything else—they’re fucking good.

She finds the scout quickly enough, his suited boss standingout like a sore thumb in a sea of ironically ugly outfits.

‘Good, aren’t they?’ she asks, inserting herself neatly betweenthem. ‘That’s my brother. The lead singer.’

‘Mm,’ says the boss, non-committal. The scout just nods, buthis face belies his enthusiasm.

‘Seems to me,’ she says casually, tossing her hair, ‘thatthere’s a bit of a gap in the market right now for an indie boy band. All theindie teenage girls are desperate for something to… ah… plug that gap.’

For a second, there’s silence, but Lo knows she’s judgedcorrectly. Sure enough, the boss snorts with laughter, and shakes his head.

‘You might be right there. You have a phone number for them?’

‘Here, sir.’ The scout hands a card over. ‘Got it last time.They don’t have a manager.’

‘They’ll need one.’

‘They’ll get one,’ says Lo hastily, laying a hand on theboss’ arm. ‘I’ll make sure of it.’

‘You do that. Once they’ve got one, we’ll talk.’

Lo smiles, her very best seductive smile, and then walksaway into the crowd, swinging her hips.

She gives Hugo the news later, and pats his arm gently whenhe and his bandmates go into hysterics at the idea of a manager.

‘I know someone,’ she says reassuringly, already pulling herphone out. ‘I’ll make a call.’

Julius comes out of his first meeting with the music bossgrinning ear-to-ear.

‘We did it,’ he says, holding a signed contract above hishead. ‘We got all the edits approved. You’re signed, lads!’

The band leap up as one, hollering, and close each otherinto a wild hug.

Lo draws Julius to one side, trying to read the contract asshe does so.

‘Knew all those Muggle law books would be useful one day,’says Julius, handing it over to her. Then, in a lower voice, he adds, ‘oh, andall that time practising Confundus charms.’

‘Love it,’ breathes Lo, flipping pages over. ‘You got themeverything?’

‘Yeah.’ He collapses onto a sofa. ‘To be fair, only had toConfund a couple of times, and those were minor things. They were very accommodating.They really think they’re going to be huge. Hugo’s songs, especially—they weretalking about having him write for some of their biggest acts right now, whenhe’s done with their first album.’

Lo looks over at the band, Hugo in the middle, shining. She’snever seen him like this. He’s always faded into the shadows, silent anduncertain, lost in his own little world. Now here he is, a superstar in themaking, and he’s her very own brother.

The feeling that suffuses Lo from head to toe is alien. Shetries to analyse it, to pin it down and figure out what it could possibly be.

‘That’s pride,’ Julius leans in to whisper to her. ‘You’refeeling proud.’

Oh, thinks Lo. Oh. I suppose it is.

Hugo catches her eye from within the wild celebrations andhe grins, sudden and childlike and thrilled, and Lo can’t help smiling back.

Maybe it’s never going to be the same as what she has withRose, her and Hugo. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be just as good.

Re: corn bybrids, I thought developing a monoculture was quite...dangerous, having a vast amount of food production depending on something never coming along which might evolve to attack a single genetic variety... like the way it went with bananas... and might be going again with bananas... Isn't genetic diversity kind of the key component of robustness in the ongoing evolution race between plant and pest?

okay, so first of all: damage in the maize industry due to a large amount of the same seed variety being used has happened before because of the thing that anon is talking about, way back in the gap between the 50s and the 70s when we didn’t know as much about breeding things for agri as we do now. 

to understand this bit of maize history, we have to back up here and explain detasseling. the process of detasseling is a HHUUUUUUUGGEE thing in the midwest to the point where its a tradition/coming of age ritual for a lot of rural families. so in large production cornfields (which create mass hybrid seed for farmers), it’s like my job on a huge scale; at this point, corn research facilities (like the one I work at) have chosen the best resulting hybrid varieties from two of their inbred strains and have decided to market it. to do this, they send the seed companies a shit ton of seeds for the inbred parents with the intention of making a super shit ton of hybrid seed for sale. at my work, when the resulting varieties might be openly tossed out at any moment, we hand-pollinate the maize with special bags, but this is impossible with literal thousands of plants on a production line. so what companies do is plant fields separated into parts- part A will be the male inbred line, and part B will be the female inbred line. the intention is to mass-pollinate the female line with the male line. this is done by chopping off all the tassels (the male flower structures on top of the plants) off the plants in the female section, so that the field has no choice but to pollinate the female ears in part B with the male tassels in part A. the plants in part B produce ears of hybrid seed, which can be sold. 

and this is where the bus loads of rural teens come in. detasseling is a notoriously HORRIBLE job, but it also pays well to the point that you can make $1,000 in a few weeks, which attracts farm kids to get up at 4AM to walk through the female sections of fields to individually pull the tassels off each and every female plant. each field has a different arrangement; some are one row male, two rows female, ect, but its all the same concept. in recent decades we’ve developed giant wacking machines that roll through the fields and chop off all the female tassels, but anyone who works with plants knows that when you work with biological organisms, it’s nearly impossible to use a machine to regulate everything the exact same way; every individual is different, which is why to this day every late June to early July corn companies hire farm kids to do this horrible job for a reasonable amount of pay. 

now you may be like, “why can’t they just get rid of the tassels in the genes??” and that’s where we come to our story about the terrible potential of inbred line crossing and mass monocultures when done incorrectly.

in the 1950s, people in corn research facilities found a single corn inbred variety that allowed for male sterility in the inbred line; when crossed, it regained it’s fertility as a hybrid cross. this means that seed corn companies could use a fertile male inbred line and this specific infertile line as their female, and during production wouldn’t need to hire detasselers. the resulting corn would be perfectly fertile to use by farmers in the field for the production of grain. 

the result of this was people using a shit ton of this female line. like. in everything. like by the mid 1960s almost all seed corn was produced with this gene so corn companies could save money. 

and this is where we reach the total nightmare scenario that i still kind of geek out about because it’s such a nightmare scenario like how could you create a monoculture like this when this is like. a textbook potential result of reducing genetic diversity?????:

in 1971, we had a huge outbreak of fungus southern corn leaf blight. it just so happened that the male infertile inbred line being used as a female in like 500000000 hybrid corn varieties was very susceptible to fungus southern corn leaf blight. and the hybrid corn that was developed from it- which at this point made up 90% of all hybrid corn being grown in the United States- was also susceptible to it. 

we lost 15% of the entire USA’s maize crop in 1971 because corn companies wanted to save money and didn’t have the tech to increase genetic diversity in their inbred lines. also this is just the USA, like this is a quote from the abstract of this emergency white paper on the epidemic discussing the nightmare scenario looming over the susceptible crop in 1970-1971 canada when it crept up from the corn belt (canada ended up not suffering as badly as the US, and that paper is really interesting and anxiety-inducing to read if your interested in plant pathology btw):

75% like could you even imagine. if this was worse than it was canada alone could have lost 75% of its entire maize crop. like i cannot believe this literally happened like you would think???? that they would be like o shit we have a lot of that corn like we should prob not do that incase something was to happen???? but they didnt they really. just did it lol

anyway so the resolution to that story is that of course farmers were like wow i sure dont want to lose my livelihood to my entire crop failing and immediately stopped buying hybrids with the susceptible inbred line. it literally fell out of use in like three years and we went back to manual detasseling even though the scientists in the 80s were like “hey we fixed it” and tried putting a leaf blight resistant male infertile inbred line back on the market for crossing but no one would touch that shit lol

and thats the story of how detasseling almost stopped for like 30 years until the US maize market took a major hit as the result of companies cutting corners and then came back and is still a thing that happens every year. today, we do use the male infertile inbred lines, but not even close to in the same capacity as we did in the 60s. it’s used today in conjunction with manual detasseling and machine detasseling to reduce costs. 

so anyway, i asked the corn breeders at work about how they prevent this nightmare from happening again, and they told me a couple things:

1. theres just. so many corn varieties out there now that are used. like to give some ideas as far of the sheer scale: at my facility alone, we have around 40 male inbred lines and 40 female inbred lines. every facility has this many. there are hundreds of facilities and they all mix and match inbreds. thats just my company 

2. they have hundreds of breeding programs that all strive for different things and seek out new maize varieties to keep the gene pool fresh. 

3. just like with all other things that aren’t industry and lifestyle changing (coughthatonesingularmaleinfertilefamaleinbredlinecough), things fall in and out of style. like it feels like a weird thing bc its corn but seriously, its a thing that happens in breeding because what the farmers want in their corn is always changing; they gave an example of a particularly popular variety my company had in the 90s that was the big thing for a few years. after those few years where it was like super popular (they spoke of it by numerical code and did so very fondly lol it was like two of them and they were like “aaahhhh 4919992 do u remember that one.....man what a stunner”) the farmers noticed some problems with it, got tired of it, and started buying better stuff. things fall in and out of popularity. 

4. we have the power of GMOs on our side. that means that if they have a gene in one plant thats super cool and powerful but the plant itself if lacking, they can just take it out and put it in a better, more resistant plant, and if that doesnt work they can just keep trying, or try with a better gene or trait. if the detasseling thing had happened today instead of the 1950s, they could have taken the gene out and put it in several different, more genetically diverse inbred lines, causing a little more variety than using the exact. same. females. for everything. bc thats so smart. 

basically?? we have a ton of corn. a lot of corn. just so much corn. u want tall corn?? u can choose between 6000000000 tall corn lines or perhaps u would like some mid-sized corn????? could i interest u in some corn from england??????? or japan???? or corn resistant to your particular climate or tailored to your needs???????????? please choose your corn company (there are like 500000 and they all have their own inbred lines) and then choose ur fave and change it out from year to year???????? we just got in 500000 new inbred varieties and got rid of 50000?????? its in the industry’s favor financially to keep developing new stuff, new traits, new inbreds, and new hybrids. genetic diversity is key to keeping up with new threats, and as of 2017 we’re certainly not using the same females for everything anymore. bananas are another story tho lol

Hi, i need a bike which is cheap to run, cheap to insure and first and foremost cheap to buy. I don't mind old second hand bikes unless advised against them because I believe you could learn a great deal repairing an old bike than having a new bike that nothing goes wrong with. It needs to grow with my abilities, i.e in a couple of years when i go to university I may want to motorway travel, therefore a 50 cc moped is just not going to do. why Scotsmen wear kilts

 It all started at one of my wee sisters annual BBq`s.

She does many over the year but there is one, normally the first one in August which has developed a mythos all of its own. This mythos grew out of her five star grub and good nature and grew and grew until, now well bawdy and hilarious don’t do these BBqs justice. The word spread, her bbq`s grew. If she wanted to she could have sold tickets.

I was at this one last year and as usual it started out as good fun but between the beers and the red wine a tension developed. It gradually got more and more tense. To lighten the mood ma wee sis started a tall story competition between the sexes. It had only one rule and that the rule was : the tall tale had to be true and had to take the mick out of your own sex, which as it turned out was not as easy as it first seemed.

A gathering of the warring parties happened in the gazebo and the initial tall tales were really nothing more than reworked sexist jokes. Then we started to get the hang of it and the laughter really took off.

The tension eased and more laughter flowed into the gap.

We got carried along and only noticed the lateness of the day when the sun started to drift away from the garden. Those sober enough slithered into the lounge onto whatever seat they could get into without spilling their drinks. As it was getting on we decided on two last tall tale tellers, one from each side. S went for the women and I was `elected ` for the men. It was also decided that the teenagers who had not floated off to play the ps3 or DS would be the judges.

Having all got refills S fake coughed to get our attention and began.

She started,

`This is a true story, honest it is ! this really happened and I think it shows how stupid women really are. During WW2 the top American general went on a morale boosting tour of the troops in the far East. The US navy liberated many, many islands on their way to attack Japan. One of these islands turned out to have a tribe on it that had never seen a white man, never mind one wearing clothes. Being very remote and isolated they themselves went around buck naked.

A sip was required, S continued.

Well the press wanted some footage of the liberating heroes so it was decided by the big wigs to use this island. The press managed to persuade the big general to do the triumphal parade bit the only problem was getting the islanders to wear clothes and therefore not upset the delicate Tv audience back home. The male elders took to clothes no problem but the women tried but were only comfortable in skirts. They just had to go topless, but seeing as the supreme symbol of the mighty victorious US forces was doing the parade this could not be allowed. So a senior diplomat was sent to convince the women to wear tops and after much too-ing and fro-ing an agreement was reached. Tops it was. The women promised the elders they would cover up and there would be no great afront to the mighty war chief.

The Elders told the diplomat the diplomat told the army and the parade and filming were set.

On the day of the parade there were many dignitaries, generals and the associated press from the free world. The parade was in full swing. It came down past the village elders, swung round a tight corner into the village square and there where the women all lined up along each side of the square creating a natural V. This V had the effect of driving the general`s party towards the ceremonial handshake with the chief at the top of the square. But ohhh ! no the women were all topless !! .The general was aghast but his embarrassment was only just beginning. The chief signalled the women to cover up. The women on mass took hold of their skirts and lifted to reveal -------.

Laughter rang out from the women they knew what S had done. It was a classic double-dip. Men were the butt here not women so laugh at the men they did. Some of the men got it too and there were some half-hearted cries of derision.

When the debacle died down the teens gave her 7 out of ten and now it was my turn.

I began, `Many, many years ago when Scotland was still a baby, this grabbed their attention so I stood up and continued, now I don’t know if you know it but each country has its own male and female and in Scotland these were known as Heather, and the Mac the Green man.

Heather is where all Scotsmen get their unconscious ideas about women. She is everything from a kelpie to Flora McDonald. She is the spirit of everything from waterfalls to fairies, and if you believe the hype form those Barrs people she even gave them the secret to irn-bru, only kidding folks but a few of you were thinking about that for a moment there, eh !.

I carried on, ``-- but the green man is the story here. You see the green man is the symbol of male fertility as Heather is the symbol of female sexuality. This was known and very much revered in the very beginnings of Scotland when we were more like cavemen than homo-sapiens. During this age we were still very warlike. This annoyed heather no end so she gave the green man an ultimatum, ` do something, end this cycle of wars or no more sex`. Being the ultimate symbol of male fertility the green man thought, ` uh, I can live without sex, no prob, I don’t need her !`.

In the months after Heathers ultimatum the green man found this very easy. Being one with the land meant he was also one with the animals and there rutting was in essence a form of release for him. There instinctual acts gave him some more time to ignore Heathers ultimatum but this did not last.

As time went on the green man got randier and randier until sleep deserted him. Sleep left because of the difference between light and hard because as you all know you can sleep with the light on but you cant sleep with a ------------! `.

I didn’t need to finish that one. There were a few groans but I moved swiftly on.

  `This went right on through a particularly hard winter and on into the spring. Where, feeling the sap rising again the green man fell into a deep, deep sleep of utter exhaustion. But the sap was still rising and it was springtime and time for the rut so the green mans dick made a decision. It decided to leave the green man. As the green man slept his dick jumped off and out into the world.

Of it went.

It visited every nubile women in the land and that is why there are so many redheads in Scotland cause that’s all the green man had was masses and masses of red hair. Having travelled far and sated most of that springs rising sap the green mans dick decided it was time to head home. So off it set.

It seemed like forever before the green mans dick reached the end of the thistle patch. When it eventually got out every square millimeter had been stuck more times than a tourist in the Algarve gets stung by timeshare touts. The green mans dick was now itchier than a redheaded person with sunburn in a cloud of midges

So ! lion rampant, off it went.

About now the green man awoke and realising his loss started to track his dick down. This was not easy as his dick was the same as him, of the land and so could shape shifty as and when required. At this moment in history his dick was every shape everywhere making love to anything with a pulse. It is rumoured that it even went up the grab-a-granny night at the Savoy !!`.

`One day the green man caught up to his dick just as it was starting to get amorous with an animal freshly introduced to Scotland. This animal was the humble sheep. Unknown to the green man Heather had been tracking both of them and had come across them just as this crucial moment.

As heather fake coughed the green man was clearing all the wool from his dick. Taking pity on him Heather made love to the green man but alas the green mans dick was still restless.

She had a brain wave during some post-coital haggis.

She went over to the sheep and after apologising for this rather unusual welcome to a new country she and the sheep dropped down into a deep conversation. Much bartering took place.

As a result of this bartering the sheep got a place in folklore which no one could erase, it also got the knowledge of colours and colour schemes for which in return all it had to do was provide an endless supply of wool. Heather now told the green man to get busy and he set about building the first ever loom.

The sheep gathered.

The following morning when the green man met Heather she looked down and she saw the first ever kilt.

The green mans dick was content to stay put as the coarse wool meant that his itches were rubbed 24/7 and that is why Scotsmen wear kilts !`.
