Dirty Swatches (Eww!)
So this is something I made months ago, but having just come back to the Sims I decided to take some screenshots and share.
Plush Heavy Traffic Carpet:
I really wanted to have a plain grungy carpet to put into my less fortunate Sims’ homes and so I combine the stains from the Heavy Traffic Carpet and the base texture of the Plush Comfort Carpeting to bring you the Plush Heavy Traffic Carpet.

Note: In the picture above there is a tile of the Plush Comfort Carpeting at the right of each strip to show the difference (which is more obvious on the left column than the right).

A Spazi Save File
This is probably quite ambitious of me, but I've been pondering creating a save file for a while now.
It actually started a year ago, when I wanted to create a custom Sims 2 neighborhood, but then I couldn't get passed the fact that Sims 2 doesn't have universal aging. Then I went over to the Sims 3 and realized that CAW was just too much for me to wrap my head around. Now here I am, back to the Sims 4, and seeing @lilsimsie and @Plumbella sharing their own save files I've gotten the inspiration to work on my own.
TL;DR: I wanted to make custom world and went through S2 and S3 before coming back to S4.
The thing is, I'm quite OCPD and I don't just want a Sims 4 "EA style" save file. I want the depth we got in the previous two iterations of the Sims. Like how the S2 families had ancestors, and prearranged scenarios (not sure how well that will work in S4). I also want to incorporate every aspect of each expansion, game and stuff pack released so far. So there'll be clubs, older sims will have character value traits and reward traits, there'll be retail stores and restaurants, and well, as much of everything that I can cram into it.
In addition, I'd love to incorporate a few mods. Notably @zerbu's Turbo Careers and Go to School, because active careers and school are awesome. And also my own (unreleased for now) mod which makes seasons last 8 days, so that the holidays and seasons don't always fall on the same days each year. Other than a few mods, I anticipate that this save will be CC free so that it should survive updates.
I expect my households to be inspired by fictional characters from the likes of Disney, Harry Potter and various TV shows and movies I've watched.
Speaking of which, I've created two households that may or may not become residents in this save file:

Bonus points if you can guess who these sims are based on.
I'd like to know if any of you would be interested in seeing the develop of a project like this.
Any feedback and ideas would be really cool too. :)

No Free Friendship On Club Join
This is a simple mod that removes the relationship increase you get when joining a club.
I didn’t like that it would give you an increased relationship with all the members in the club regardless of whether you had met them or not. You still get the bonus relationship increases when interacting with the club members so not to worry. 🙂

Unlocked Mud Puddles
I really liked the textures and models of the mud puddles that came with Seasons and I wanted to be able to place them myself to create interesting terrain.
So I’ve gone in, unlocked them, made them buyable from the Misc. Decorations section, made them movable and also combined the three different puddle shapes into one catalog entry to reduce clutter.

Note: These are a default override, to reduce the load on your computer, therefore you will need Seasons to have these show up in your game. This also means that if you remove the mod, your puddles will stay put (until they evaporate or your sims mop them up) so you can freely share lots with these puddles on the Gallery.

Celebrity Walk as Chooseable Walkstyle
I was a little bummed to see that EA made a new walkstyle, the slow and laidback ‘Celebrity Walkstyle’, but didn’t let us choose which sims had it or not. So I fixed it!
This will also prevent the walkstyle being enabled when reaching the right fame level (I would imagine, because I removed a test which checked for celebrity status within the walkstyle buff).

Note: I haven’t figured out how to make the walkstyle animation work when you select it in Create a Sim, so when you select the Celebrity Walkstyle it will show the default walkstyle. I’ll fix it once I figure out how to.

Happy New Year! 🎉
I was contemplating coming back to Tumblr last night, and seeing as the community seems to still be thriving persisting in this clean SFW ecosystem, I’ve decided to come back. My short time on Wordpress felt odd and I missed the comfort of my little Tumblr here, and it seems like my content wasn’t doing so well over there anyways.
So, for the foreseeable future, I’ll be posting my mods and custom content right here on this page.

Fixed Lot Rotations in Map View
November 21: I’ve finally gotten around to fixing all the lots (that I noticed needed fixing)! Here are some before and afters of Willow Creek, Oasis Springs and Windenburg.

So I found the files responsible for lot placement and rotation on the map and decided to try and fix the two 50 x 50 lots in Willow Creek and Oasis Springs that are facing the wrong directions.

Notes:
Magnolia Blossom Park in Willow Creek didn’t actually need fixing. The problem with this lot is that the thumbnail used in map view is facing the wrong direction, but once you load the lot by either visiting it or building on it, the thumbnail will update itself and be facing the right way.
Chateau Frise in Brindleton Bay didn’t need fixing. The way the lot is facing is actually how it is facing when you’re in the world. The problem is the map itself. EA didn’t accurately reproduce the map from what is seen in the world, so the street that Chateau Frise is on is just not shown on the map which makes it seem like it is facing nothing. (Sort of like those two lots in Newcrest.) You can remedy this by downloading a default map replacement that more accurately depicts the world.
Last thing I want to mention is you’ll need to load every lot that has been fixed for the thumbnails to update on the map. You can simply choose the lot and select Build then go right back to Manage Worlds afterwards. No need to edit the lot. (But to save you this trouble with NEW save files, I’ve updated the thumbnails provided by the game, so when you create a new save all your lots should be facing the right way without you needing to load any lots. 😊)

Notes: Seasons and Holidays
I didn't like the length of seasons being multiples of seven. It meant that seasons would only change on Sundays and I need a bit more variety in my sims' lives.
So I made two tuning mods, one that sets the Normal, Long and Very Long season lengths to multiples of 6 (6, 12 and 18) and another set to multiples of 8 (8, 16 and 24). (Thanks to LittleMsSam's mod for showing me how it's done. ❤️)
After looking around in the XML files I noticed that the premade holidays were set using a day of the week and a week number. So if it's set to Wednesday and 0, then the holiday would occur on the first Wednesday of the season. I was curious to see whether the holiday would always be on the first Wednesday every time that season came around because with my season lengths modifications it could screw up the order of my holidays.
It turns out that that information is only important for the first time that season comes around and the holiday actually sticks to whichever day of the season it is (the 3rd day of Spring for example).
All that to say: Yay! I'm going to work on making some custom "premade" holidays to replace the ones EA gave us (or didn't give us.. where the heck is Spooky Day?!)

Portable Hampers
I knew that the Sims 4 would not really allow me to create Laundromats like the Sims 3 did, but I at least thought we��d be able to take dirty laundry out of the hampers without needing to have a wash tub or washing machine.
So this is my simple workaround so that your laundromats aren’t useless anymore.

To make the hampers draggable in Live Mode, I had to override their Object Definition. Therefore, any mods that override the hampers or the hamper tuning will conflict with this mod.

You know those moments when you’re decorating and you want your Maxis items to match each other, but Maxis didn’t provide the matching colour? Well that’s where the “Dude, Where’s My Swatch?” mini series comes in.

Left and Right-Handed Traits Revealed / Bonus: Updated Icon!
Back again with another little mod.
This time I decided to make the Left-Handed and Right-Handed traits visible in the Simology panel. I thought it would be an interesting thing to know about my sims and thought I would share.

I also resized the original icon, because the image that was being used was too big and it caused some pixelation on the icon. I even flipped the icon so that the Left-Handed trait would have, well, a left hand to represent it.

The Right-Handed Only version is kind of useless, because most of your sims are right-handed. I made it anyway, because I figured, what the heck, maybe it’ll be of some use to someone out there.
