something that makes shi quingxuan's corrupted ascension to godhood more painful is that sqx was a good god.

beloved by their followers, kind, charitable, and was always trying to do good things. sqx was a genuinely good person, who stuck up for xie lian, and didn't automatically assume the worsts of hua cheng despite what other heavenly officials said.

shi qingxuan being a much better god than many of the others who earned or "deserved" their spots, makes their fate sadder to me

Hua Cheng being the one guiding He Xuan with relationships in beefleaf fics is actually hilarious cuz He Xuan knows more shit abt this than he does he had a literal fiance

Ngl to me this is why beefleaf is so much more compelling in this lense because He Xuan has a clear picture of what love is he had it and it was ripped away from him so him recognising that love for his enemy's brother would be so gut wrenching and confusing because this was not the love he recognized but it's somewhat still familiar

Does anyone else have such a deep, petty hatred of a character because of a ship war from when you were 12 and even after leaving the fandom you still hate them?

Because I was revisiting the "The Promissed Neverland" fandom, and was reminded of Noremma. Instant flashbacks to when I read ALL 900!!! FICS OF RAYEMMA ON AO3 (Google translate was a real one during these times) I was on the TRENCHES seeing all those amvs on Youtube that were just a bunch of fanart with a suspiciously mature song. Dear god the gacha life videos. When I get reminded of the manga finale I SEETH because the biggest rayemma moment ever turned into what was basically a love confession from norman even though the author claims he never wanted any romantic relationship in the story.

Basically, this ship war has hardwired my brain so that whenever I see Norman I am immediatly overcome by murderous rage and It's very funny as today I am a multishipper that ships characters with anything that exists.
