My Spoiler-Free Take:

This is probably one of the best drarry fanfics on wattpad. This is another story I have read several times, and always brings me back to reading fanfics when I’m in a rut. Draco is absolutely adorable, and there’s a ton of protective Harry and a few good slytherins featured. The story begins with the characters a little out of character, but it is not jarring. As is said in the warnings, there is reference to some deeply disturbing stuff, but the fic retains a good fluffy feel through the rest of it. When it was originally posted, it had a different cover and 19 chapters, but it has been condensed to 5 (without losing any material) with longer chapters. It is a relatively quick read I couldn’t put down. Not to mention, many of the comments on the story only add to it. 

TL;DR: A fic with a devastating theme that manages to have a nice, fluffy feel throughout.

My Spoiler-Free Take:

 This is one of the handful of fanfictions I’ve read multiple times, and for good reasons. If you’ve seen my other posts, you’ll notice that the way the author handles the characters and relationship is a huge deal for me, and this fic is absolutely amazing at handling the characters in a realistic way. The progression of the story and the character growth is all natural, as if that’s how Harry Potter was originally supposed to be written. This is a story you won’t want to put down. The story has moments that are frustrating, heart-wrenching, joyous, steamy, and is overall an incredibly rewarding read. The author didn’t write a sequel, but they did write a second part called “Bond DVD Extras” that contain deleted scenes and added things from the original story, linked here, which is a worthwhile read if you enjoyed the story as much as I did. 

TL;DR: A beautiful drarry forced bonding fic.

My Spoiler-Free Take:

In another enjoyable fic from Lyraonyx, this fanfiction is very fluffy. It has a lot of crying, a lot of sweetness, but retains the angst all the way through. It is also full of satire, showing us how some decisions could’ve been changed to make a bit more sense. One chapter made the rating change to mature, so don’t let the rating deter you. It features a borderline evil Albus Dumbledore, a very heroic Bill Weasley, and lots of character redemption. It is a pleasant read, and a nice break from the darker, slower build fics I usually read. Even as the relationship is set up faster, it still retains a mostly realistic portrayal of the characters (if a bit goofy or dramatic) and has a rewarding build up to the climax.

TL;DR: A sweet, fluffy fic with a lot of crying.

This story ticks all the boxes for me. A bit of protective/has a heart Snape, some of Harry being abused and how it’s handled, and general angst with a happy ending. The ending wraps the story up in a neat little bow, which I appreciate. It is a bit short, but every sentence is taken advantage of. And, naturally, the author handles the characters really well in a believable way. Over all, a pleasant read.

TL;DR: A nice little one-shot.

My spoiler free take: 

This fanfiction is frustrating in the best way. It is a rare gem- a beautifully written triad slash. The characters behave in ways that make sense- although it won’t be totally in the way you expect. Speaking of character handling, the OC’s are amazing and the way the author handled Ginny without villainzing her was a welcomed change of pace, while the real villains of the story were done very well. There is a lot of politics, but not a single dull moment. As I mentioned, it is frustrating- but it is all rewarded by the end. This story gave me everything I wanted from it and more. 

TL;DR: A frustrating, rewarding, and well done triad bonding fic.

My spoiler-free take:

This is the fanfiction that pushed me to create and start this account, and it’s absolutely amazing. There’s attached art work (Ink and Watercolor) in various chapters. There is 53 chapters, which is large in number but don’t let that deter you. You won’t want to put it down. There is also evil James Potter and evil Peter Pettigrew. I love the way this story handles it’s characters and magical creatures, even making backstories and legends about (potential spoiler I guess?) house elves and other magical creatures. This story was written by a talented, self-proclaimed world builder, and it shows. It is a incredibly rewarding read, and is part one of a bigger series, The Sunguard. The series is incomplete (as of the time of this post, the first part is completed and the second hasn’t been uploaded).

TL;DR: A absolutely beautiful, dark, hopeful story that you won’t want to put down, with art attached, fantastic world building, and wonderful character handling.
