A FEW REASONS WHY I LOVE CAPTAIN BARNACLES 🐻‍❄🩵

His name is Barnacles. And what is a barnacle? A sticky little crustacean that attaches to a variety of surfaces such as boats. HE’S BASICALLY EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO THE OCTOPOD—

He has a different name in my language. He’s basically called White. Which I find absolutely adorably hilarious

Calls the Octopod home

The way the Octopod is so dear to him :(

Dad™ of the crew

Loves his crew

Encourages his crew

Believes in his crew

Trusts his crew

Always protecting his crew but isn’t overbearing

Takes interest in what his crew likes

His relationship with his twin, Bianca— LIKE LOOK AT THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HIS SISTER THAT IS A BIG BROTHER™ (if it’s revealed he’s younger I’m ignoring it /hj)

Speaking of Bianca, I LOVE how good of an uncle Barnacles is to Orson and Ursa

Radiates dad energy

His friendship with his crew. I love them

I love his relationship with Tunip and the other Vegimals too it’s literally so cute

Plays the accordion. Poor guy just has a little trouble with it sometimes. But he’s doing his best and I love him for that

Likes to draw

Likes writing in his Captain’s log (I think it’s cute :3)

He wrote three books on how to pilot the Octopod. For who? Himself! I love that

HE MAKES SHADOW PUPPET SHOWS THAT IS LITERALLY ADORABLE

Sings sea shanties

AND HE SINGS IN THE RAIN

I BET HE ALSO LOVES TO DANCE IN THE RAIN AJKDSJD

Sometimes dances to music with the Vegimals IT’S THE CUTEST

Builds models (in the style of ships in a bottle, in this case Gups) IT’S SO COOL

Is a proud Polar Bear Scout and I think it’s really cute

Basically I love the fact he has many hobbies and things he enjoys doing

Has been the leader type since he was a cub and I think that is really cool

Also the fact he has many friends kinda like around the world and it’s just??? So wholesome to me for some reason???

Overall this guy is so wholesome (even if he is a bit stupid (affectionate) sometimes)

Is brave (even if he is a bit reckless on the side—)

Is a bit stupid (affectionate) for THROWING HIMSELF AT DANGER to protect others

Is silly. He is so silly. Such a silly little guy

A stupid silly little man (affectionate) who still has his vulnerable moments, while being astoundingly courageous (I know I basically said that already just in different words but it’s just what I love about him so much)

Gives such warm vibes

His enthusiasm (I mean, have you seen the Octonauts training videos?)

Is respectful

Is gentle. Reminds me of that one quote; “be strong enough to be gentle”

(great more similarities with Optimus Prime akdhsj)

Strong™ like an absolute tank. HE LITERALLY KICKED DOWN A RUSTY DOOR. DEEP UNDERWATER. WHILE WEARING A VERY THICK DEEP SEA DIVING SUIT. LIKE DUDE???

AND HE HURRIED THERE BECAUSE THEY LOST CONTACT WITH KWAZII AND PESO AKDJSKS THIS MAN—

In the Cone Snail episode he basically CRAWLED (since just a moment before couldn’t even stand properly) from the Sick Bay up to the HQ BECAUSE HIS SON PESO WAS IN DANGER

When he threw himself at a falling piece of ice to save the walrus pups

Literally so selfless it’s almost a flaw and I just love him for that (but he still needs to stop being so fricking reckless)

HAS AN ADORABLE SMILE

The way he SQUINTS HIS EYES

WHEN HIS EARS DO THE FOLDY THING IT’S THE CUTEST AAAAA

Did I mention his smile? It’s adorable

Is a fluffy guy

I can imagine him being like slightly chubby y’know and like it’s so cute

THE WAY HE HUGS (I want to hug him and cuddle him and give him kisses and—)

Handles creatures gently and with care

How calm he is most of the time

How he can control his temper

His contagious smile

Has a habit of talking to himself out loud and it’s really cute to me (also a mood)

The difference in paw size he has with his crew?? Like it’s literally so cute like they’re all so small compared to him

I also love the height difference he has with his crew like THEY’RE SO SMALL

THE WAY HE STEERS THE OCTOPOD—

So basically I love him and his lil issues
