Exploring something different this week as the holidays really get going. The holidays are closing in! And while I won’t be taking any more commissions before Christmas—I do still have lots of designs for sale! This is a 4”x5” watercolor that I made while visiting Scotland in 2015. • • I loved everything about Scotland and can’t wait to go back one day. The countryside, the people, the cities. All. Of. It. So. If there is one thing you ever need to know about me is that Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. But. My wonderful husbands favorite holiday is most definitely Christmas. Guys. I had every intention of doing an awesome fall watercolor to show you all. It when I sat down to do it—on a cold, rainy, overall dreary day; all I could think about was where did summer go?? So i drew this lil guy instead • • I guess after living in Louisiana my entire life, my move to Nashville has been harder than I expected. Don’t get me wrong, the fall colors have been beautiful! But I’m so accustomed to enjoying summer pretty much through Thanksgiving that having the highs in the 50s during October and November are really throwing me off! While I get to work on my next landscape I thought I’d share a past favorite. Did you know you can take a quiz on Pottermore to find out what your patronus is?! This lovely client of mine found out what her daughters patronus was and commissioned this piece last Christmas! A gray dapple mare! I’ve also done a cat, an otter, a stag, and a swan! • • My patronus is a bay mare. I love that it turned out to be a horse because I grew up riding and I have so many great memories attached to horses. The surprise of this awesome underwater landscape canvas is......phosphorescent paint!!! I knew I wanted to do something unique for this landscape and somehow glow in the dark paint cane to mind. What is an underwater landscape without some awesome neon coral??
