l'Italia piange oggi
dalle Rimini alle Cosenza
piove a grosse grocce
e il cielo è griego,
cadente
vedo fuori dalla finestra
e sentirlo in casa
in cucina
dove il bollitore è la
mia comapngia
piange
italia
piange
e domani
sorridi por noi
(my first poem in italian :)

having a heart is the worst
it hurts when you use it
and aches for love
when you don’t

the hard choice, but
the right choice

in time
everything fades
when you want it to
and sometimes
when you don’t
that’s the beauty
and the pain of it
on feelings

She dreamt of
meeting a
handsome stranger
at the bookstore,
in the airport,
on the train,
on a cobblestone street,
taking a coffee at a cafe in the sun.
Instead, alone,
these were the places
she found
herself.

Moonlight walks
the way he talks
I think I’m falling in
to something new.
Holding my breath
wait and see
maybe he thinks
the same of me.

I want to drink wine
on summer nights
mesmerized by your
glowing eyes
in the candle light.
I want to dance
until we fall down
exhausted
onto a bed of grass.
I want to gaze up into
the galaxy
reflected back to us
as stars
talking about everything
and nothing at all.
I want this moment
to last a lifetime
and if it can’t we’ll do this
a thousand times over
string them all together
and call it life.

strangely,
I think,
if I knew
what I wanted
my life
would be a whole lot
emptier
.
because I
wouldn’t be out here
struggling
to fill in the gaps
with meaning
not just
convenient answers
.
but that doesn't
make the hard days
any easier.

I have to be
strong enough
to build my own life
over and over
and over
again
as many times
as it
takes

If I don’t choose anyone
To love
then no one can
not choose
me
...
(my goodness
I don't know
what is more sad
the fact that I’ve finally
realized this about
myself,
or that it’s how
I’ve been thinking
all
along)
