the way that people post the publicly accessible home addresses of billionaires online as a vague threat is so corny and posturing. for 10 years I've seen people go "btw this is where this guy lives!" only for nothing to happen because they're hoping someone else will eventually take one for the team, or that they can magically will a coherant movement to combat these people into existence. nobody even mails poop anymore.

Friends In Real Life. It's the project. It's the album. It's who you think it is. Recorded and accompanied by a cast of likewise beloved DIY figures whose influence is woven beautifully throughout, this is Patrick Schneeweis' (fka Pat The Bunny) first new release since 2016. I recall Pat making a comment back around the time of his musical departure that if he recorded music in the future, it would probably be something that folk punk fans wouldn't really care for. That doesn't feel like the case for these songs. Sure, the instrumentation isn't as folk-forward as his old material, but it feels entirely approachable, especially to the current wave of folk punk fans who I believe have fully embraced the sonic variance of this community. At the end of the day, it's Pat writing and Pat singing and that's something that a lot of people have dearly missed. The first single, "Buckeye", is out today with a couple more songs promised in the lead up to the full album release a few weeks from now. Trust me when I say that this song is the tip of the iceberg on how fun this record it. In the meantime, pre-orders are up and running on bandcamp with LP/CD/tape options, as well as shirts @forgottenkylerecords is handling UK/EU distro (and made the tapes for non-US orders as well) More to say in the future, but for now, go play that single a few dozen times and get excited.
