I have so many feelings about Laszlo in this episode. From his dad charming everyone, leading them to dismiss him and help push him to reconcile when he really doesn't want to...to the way Laszlo always gets suspicious and defensive when his dad is complimenting him without any backhanded element to it...to the way he has to watch Colin Robinson following his dad around hungry for his approval while Colin still doesn't recall (or says he doesn't recall) Laszlo acting as his father...to the way he's clearly worried about what happens to Colin when Roderick snatches the validation and affection away the way he always did to Laszlo...to the way he is ultimately proven right but hides this from Colin, choosing Colin's wellbeing over his own vindication (STILL acting like a father to him)...I'm just VERY emotional about Dadszlo okay?!

nadja’s line where she said “maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if we ended up dying” is really getting to me because the season has forced the vampires to face not only their immortality but what they sacrificed for it (and what remains of their humanity). laszlo having a human best friend and wanting desperately to go in the sun and have his hobbies. nandor facing his feelings for guillermo and becoming a better friend to all of his flat mates. nadja going home for the first time in centuries thanks to little antipaxos and redefining the relationships in her life. colin, at his nature, is incredibly interesting but forced to hide it because it would literally kill him (plus remembering his father/son relationship w laszlo). especially when you consider what the baron considers vampirism — massacres blood fucking and brooding — it’s so incredibly apparent that the household isn’t satisfied with the surface level anymore. they need connections. they need more than killing and fun (which would have been enough in season 1). even the baron seeing himself in them & admitting he’s gone soft and human delights (having a breakfast nook and going on walks thru the neighborhood with his dog) is what he considers enjoyable. wondering what this means for all of them

romantic relationships blah blah blah okay but what about risking everything for your sibling. what about the unwavering love and care that can only come from a parent to a child. what about someone who just wants their best friend back. ever thought of that.
#Weirdly made me think of General Crozier and Cardinal Ravenwood from Metalocalypse#They aren't even friends#They're barely co-workers#And crozier is a hardened military guy who sees loads of other colleagues get killed in hilariously over the top brutal ways#Didn't even have anything in common with Cardinal Ravenwood beyond their mutual mistrust of their boss#But Crozier never seems to get over Ravenwood's death#for like 4 series#Ravenwood even comes to speak to him in his dreams and becomes like a guide to him#I thought that was a really interesting angle for a character arc#metalocalypse spoilers

The thing is, even if you were lucky and your parents taught you how to clean, they probably didn't teach you how to clean the stuff you clean stuff with, like brushes, mops, sponges, rags, and so on. Or how to clean your cleaning appliances, like a dish washer, clothes washing machine, and clothes dryer and its ducts (if you have a ducted dryer), or a carpet cleaner, vacuum, Or how to clean up clean messes, like spilled bleach or detergent.
My parents threw away all of these things (even the vacuum cleaners and the dryer) when they got too dirty to function, because no one even told them THAT they could be cleaned. Cost them thousands of dollars over the years.
All I'm saying is that cleaning is not intuitive, and not knowing how to clean is not a moral failing, but it is something you can learn.
I'm going to reblog this post with resources for learning how to clean things and how to clean cleaning things (I'm not at my desk at the moment). If you have any favorites, please feel free to add them in too!

hey in case you didn't know trans inclusive terminology in healthcare is not about protecting peoples feelings, it's to stop insurance companies from going "well it says here that hysterectomies are a procedure performed on WOMEN and you keep insisting that you're a MAN so we do not in fact have to cover that have a nice day and eat shit"

The idea of spontaneously getting on a train and going somewhere far might be romantic in another country but England is too small for that. Pull an Eternal Sunshine and go where? Fucking Slough? Go to fucking Slough and get a fucking boots meal deal?

The tide is really turning everyone, I saw this actual issue today 24/07/2025 BST in paper format. For context, The Daily Express is one of the most populist, right-wing, Islamophobic papers in the UK, it makes its money peddling anti-migrant, anti-Muslim scare stories to working class British people and is very popular.
Setting aside for a moment, the fact that this paper and others like it have contributed hugely to the current hostile treatment and racist attitudes towards people from the Middle East in the UK over the last 20 years, the wording here is a monumental shift away from that.
(Meaning they now believe they will sell more papers by condemning Israel, rather than going for their usual 'evil Hamas' angle)
Little Muhammad' = evoking sympathy, reaffirming the humanity of the subject by giving him a name, no racist/derogatory or veiled derogatory comment about the name Muhammad, 'little' draws attention to subject being a young child again reaffirming humanity.
This is massive everyone, please keep talking about Gaza because the tide really is turning now
