Chronic life
It's a small life It's as beautiful as I allow it to be and as tragic as I let it be Im not cured but I choose to live I choose to heal and be at peace with who I am and what I can do without ever letting go of hope- even if that hurts me

Chronic pain
Chronic Illness can be Really invalidating for a long time and all you are searching for Is help and empathy Being constantly dismissed, unheard and overwhelmed impacts you and it's only when you start to feel safe again that you start to process the trauma It may come up as uncertainty, negative beliefs, scripts, hurt- but it's there to be looked at and loved and healed. Take your time Soften into the process You are whole You are loved

You're magic
Who are you? Who cares? Do we really have to define ourselves? Sell ourselves? Everything and nothing, I just am. I have likes, dislikes and interests but have learnt that this elusive identity isn't even important for me anymore. I just am who I am. And I'm always changing. I recognise my triggers and patterns and I heal. I just keep following my energy and overcoming blocks and celebrating triumphs and loving myself unconditionally. It's magic. I'm magic, You're magic And magic can't be defined

I see you
To my darling friend,
I see you.
I see you struggling.
I see that you are becoming overwhelmed by doing too much.
By trying to be too much for everyone around you.
I see your strength.
I see that you are capable and loving and generous.
I see that you are trying to carry the burden of others.
I see you easing their pain by carrying it yourself.
I see you neglecting yourself.
I see you ignoring your own needs.
I see you dismissing your body and minds warning signs to slow down.
I see your boundaries have been penetrated and you are losing yourself.
I want you to know that you do not have to do it all.
You do not have to save anyone.
You do not have to help everyone with everything, just because you can.
You can say no.
I promise you that the world does not stop once you do.

Quote
Being sick without knowing why is very stressful. Being sick without knowing why, and being told “nothing’s wrong”, is more stressful still.

Relearning self care
When you have chronic illnesses you have to relearn what self care is - for you. You can't just adopt the standard, you need to listen to what your body really needs. For me, that's staying in bed for an hour or so in the morning so my body can rehydrate and get ready for the day. I eat way more Salt and carbs and drink liquids because my body feels better when I do. I don't shower as much - and I love showers, I actually used to have two or more a day and hot baths especially in a flare until I realised how sick they were making me. I don't "do" nearly as much as I want to but that's because I know now the consequences and what my body actually needs is horizontal rest. All of this goes against the grain doesn't it, from what we have been taught a person should do for health?
