I love stories. Some of you know, but some probably don't, that about ten years ago, Propertius Press came into being. We're doing some pretty awesome work - curating a collection of reads selected for their propensity to stay with you long after you turn the last page.
We look for authors with an authentic voice, whose story hasn't been told in the same old format and fashion, and we lift them up to readers everywhere.
Check them out. In a world with sparkly, fast joys everywhere you look, Propertius invites you to settle in, get comfy, grab a cuppa, and breathe in.

Website problems! Something was up at Godaddy this morning and our URL wasn't forwarding. However, if you're ever trying to get to our site, use this handy little QR Code to go right there. You can also type in https://bit.ly/P-Press ! The full URL is always https://propertiuspress.wixsite.com/propertiuspress if you want to go old school. Sorry for the technical issues! Hopefully they won’t happen again, but just in case :) . . . #propertiuspress #website #technicaldifficulties #techproblems #booksite #bookstore #books #indiepress

DARK FICTION... tales with elements of mystery, fear, angst, and woe... sometimes ending with a bright reconciliation... sometimes, absolutely not. These stories offer a decent into possible madness, a journey into the future, peripatetic travelogues through time and space... to find utopia, or dystopian misery. Knowledge of what is and what shall be. Hidden agendas. Unhinged conspiracies. Lost birthrights. Characters who fight fiercely for what they believe, to find their truth. And either live or die trying.
Stories that will make you think, and leave you forever changed after finishing the last page.

I think Americans need to understand how normal it is in other countries to have extremely limited hours of operation to ensure the sanity and health of workers are kept in tact. We are so accustomed and entitled to demanding people’s time that we forget that they’re… y’know… people

Happy Birthday to Us
Photo by Abby Kihano on Pexels.com We are ten years old this month! Hard to believe, but true. We are so grateful for all of the wonderful authors who have entrusted their work to us over this past decade, as well as the editors and graphics designers who worked so hard to put each book together along with our Team. Submissions open January 6, 2022
We will be accepting submissions in a limited number of categories starting Thursday, January 6, 2022. Believe it or not, we are still working through some of the submissions from last year, in which we received more submissions than all of the last five years combined. The pandemic seems to have been an invitation to many to write down thoughts, to finally start that novel, to craft a poetry…

Comforts of Home, and Ancient Wisdom
Comforts of Home, and Ancient Wisdom
I don’t know about you, but I really hate shopping. Photo by Stéphane Juban on Unsplash Continuing the tradition of food and family togetherness that we celebrate here in the US on the third Thursday in November, when the fridge is stocked with delicious leftovers and the weather outside is chilly, the last thing I would want to do is fight crowds and traffic. No thank you! Speaking of…

All in a Day's Work
All in a Day’s Work
Image courtesy Laura Chouette on Unsplash In 2019, Lee and Low published an important Diversity Baseline Study showing statistics among publishers related to the “the racial, gender, sexual orientation, and ability makeup of their employees.” Perhaps unsurprisingly, they found a diversity problem, which was reflected in the major offerings in the catalogs of most publishing houses. We began our…
