My Opinion on Elain
If I’m being completely honest?
I don’t really care about Elain’s character.
I mean, for a character who has an entire fandom divided by what man she’s going to end up fucking, she seems kind of “meh”.
I mean, what is her personality? Baking? Gardening? UwU soft girl needs pwotection fwom the big bad guy?
And her ability to see the future could be so cool, but she does jack shit with it. She could probably be so much more useful if SJM let her.
So, no, I don’t hate Elain. I could possibly like her character if she gets a personality.
But I don’t like her either.

Shipping crackships in the SJM fandoms is so funny bc it’s like:
Toxic stans: noooooo! You can’t ship that character with that character!!! It’s not canon and messes with my ship that I bully people over not liking!!!
Meanwhile, my ass is out here shipping Azris, Tamsand, Malide, Neris, Chaorian, Nesta x Cresseida, and literally anything BUT the canon ships like:
Try me, bitch.

one thing that pisses me off to no end is all the problems with characters in SJM’s books. For example:
It’s been five books and we still don’t know the LoA’s name (gee, it’s almost as if female side characters aren’t as important as their male counterparts in SJM’s eyes!)
Black female characters are killed off for the white protagonist’s character arc (Nehemia, Sorsha)
Anyone who doesn’t worship the protagonist is automatically a bad guy (Chaol, Nesta, Tarquin)
Characters get ripped on just because they ruin another ship (Gwyn, Lucien)
The only queer rep we have is a gay couple who were a little part in only one book, a bi guy who is a douchebag and threw a girl into the snow naked, and a lesbian who’s a terrible person and character.
Abusive relationships are portrayed as healthy and good, totally ignoring how powerless the women are in those relationships (Feysand, Nessian)
The queer coding on specific characters, only for them to be put in a straight relationship (Manon, Dorian, Elide)
the age gaps (Centuries old male warrior x barely legal teen girl)
It’s been five books and Riceman STILL can’t stop women getting systematically mutilated and oppressed (change takes time my ASS)
The female villains are all sexual predators (ffs, let a girl be evil WITHOUT having it have to do with sex)
Name more if you think of them. I know there’s more, I just can’t remember them.

my favourite headcanon is that when the hewn city find out rhysand and his cronies are coming, it's like miss trunchbull coming to miss honey's classroom so they have to hide any evidence of fun and joy

About ✨Me✨
My name is PCUniverse, or PC if you don’t want to do the full username. My blog will include the following:
Lots of posts about me criticizing certain authors and their… less than ideal ways of storytelling
Obsessing over Team Starkid and their shows
Lots of ranting about how NESTA ARCHERON DESERVES BETTER
Small mentions of Stardew Valley here and there (comfort game)
Me attempting to write fanfiction (I have an ao3 account under the same username)
The occasional drawing of rats
My weird-ass love of 80s and 90s punk rock and alternative grunge music
Me just shipping gay ships
Defending female characters who did little to deserve all the hate the fandom gives them
And more that I probably forgot about
Enjoy chaos and very niche interests!

Looking at the results of the polls of me asking who the gayest acotar characters were is so funny bc:
Mostly everyone who voted agrees that Nesta is the gayest
Feyre is the straightest sister (and the straightest character at that)
Cassian is very gay for Riceman and a terrible mate
Azriel gives off queer emo vibes
Elain is definitely not straight (I hc her as either pan or aroace)
Riceman is probably gay for Tamlin (that wasn’t brought up, I just feel like it should be mentioned)

Well, looks like the voters have spoken. The gayest bat boy is Azriel, followed by Cassian, who just narrowly beat Rhysand.
I hate them, but they do give off fruity vibes.

A Better H/rry Ptter
I despise a certain TERFwith all my being.
I adored Harry Potter when I was a kid. A story about wizards, magic, and outcasts defeating the big evil bad guys that tried to destroy all things good. It was a rabbit hole I fell down, and stayed stuck in there a long time.
However, I began hearing things about the author of this series I loved so much. I heard that she hated trans people, people who were good friends with me. I heard about her saying hateful things about people who weren’t hurting anyone. I think that was when the cracks started to appear.
I noticed that the books were kind of hateful to specific groups, especially women characters. Girls were punished for feeling emotional, female friendships often lead to the bad guys somehow becoming stronger, and any woman who wasn’t like the protagonist’s friend or crush were “weak” or “too emotional”. One female character was even ridiculed for the crime of being too beautiful. A lot of those things made me realize how much these books have villainized being “feminine” or liking things that were considered girly.
I think the hardest part about this realization is that the author, someone who created a world I loved so dearly, would hate me, a bisexual, neurodivergent girl. And that still hurts.
It is hard to let go of a world that you held dear to your heart. However, there is one thing that is about Harry Potter that has no association with the author.
A Very Potter Musical is a story written by a theatre group called Starkid. It is posted on YouTube on their channel, and it is funnier, way more inclusive, and so much better than the work they based it on. They even have a few sequels! And the best part: it does not have any part to do with the TERF at all!
If you want to cut off any support from a certain TERF author, but don’t want to say goodbye to the story they created, watch AVPM. You won’t regret it.
