Oh my god, how could I forgot: Mystic Messenger!! Its a classic (for me), although I'm not sure if it still receives a lot of updates, but the angssstttt, the endingssss

If it wasnt based on real-time I would still be playing it every day, but I simply do not have the time and energy right now to adhere to the Mystic Messenger schedule, so be aware of that!!

It is an original playing experience though

I’m just getting into the genre of otome games! Do you have any recommendations? Preferably ones that are free on Steam 😅

I would love to reccomend some, but I only play mobile otome games, so I can't reccomend anything off of Steam <\3

But for mobile ones:

Samurai Love Ballad Party has always been one of my faves (and one of my firsts, so it might be the nostalgia talking lol), it has angst, fluff & a whole lot of guys to choose from! (Masamune, Ieyasu & Yukimura are personal faves)

Games from the Ikemen series are also good ones. Ikemen Sengoku has my favorite MC (I'd reccomend it purely for her). I've also played Ikemen Vampire & Ikemen prince, so I'd say look at the premise and decide which one looks the most interesting! Ikemen Villain has recently come out in English, but I haven't had the time yet to play it, but from what I can see its on the darker side (Ikemen wise)

All of these are free (in-app purchases do exist tho, stay safe cuz my god, have I spent a lot 😭)
