my little brother tried to show me a "cool trick" where he entered my name and hometown into chatgpt and tried to get it to pull up my personal info like it did on all of his friends, then was absolutely shocked when it couldn't find anything on me

so. keep practicing basic internet safety, guys. it still works. don't put your personal info on social media, keep all your accounts on private, turn off ai scraping on every site that you can, enable all privacy features on social media apps. our info still can be protected, we have to keep fighting for control

12 wonders of my life: Fight

Late on posting this due to motivation and sickness, but that's how things go sometimes.

Anyway, this was on the trickier side for me as I don't purposely usually work from a limited palette (unless I'm doing pixel art). It's also why this isn't more complex than it could be. Managed to keep it at 8 colors though and it's something I may explore again at another time.

Also, still fits the theme as at least one of them is trying to pick a fight… right? >.>;

More Degredation of the Internet

Okay, so, I'm obviously late on all of this and other unsavory stuff has happened since then, but keep in mind I'm not a reporter and can't keep on top of everything. 

I'm also not going to go into deep details with everything as I honestly can't (don't use Discord for art and never used any of Meta's services). Either way, I suggest you watch the videos for more info as they probably explain things way better than I could (again, not a reporter).

Discord AI apps:

Originally learned about this through Reddit (r/ArtistHate)

Basically, Discord added apps that allow for modifying anyone's posted images without any sort of opt-out or way to remove said apps. 

Best thing you can probably do at the moment is report these apps (though considering I just learned today they're planing to try to go public, it may be a good idea to look into alternatives now; I've personally been considering Revolt for a while if I ever decided to make a server).

Instagram TOS Update:

What I took away from all this is that Instagram is pretty much making it so that they can use anything you post for whatever without compensation and directly compete with you with no repercussions.

There's also the issue of data collection and whether you can opt-out or not (surprise, if you're American, you can't :/).

Honestly, my take on all this is just ditch anything Meta, but at least also link where you're moving to if you do.

Firefox TOU Update:

Alright, this I actually have the most to say on because I've been using Firefox since the late 2000's and have been looking up as much as I can on this.

So, let's not kid ourselves; Firefox hasn't been as private as people thought it was for a while, hence all the more privacy-oriented forks. Makes sense as they've had a deal with Google for years now.

From what I'm understsanding of this, the only reason they seem to be adding a TOU now is to cover their bases for what other different places consider sale of data. Unfortunately, they also did it in the sloppiest and least transparent of ways (and a lot of stuff with all this is still not clear).

Now, ever since this news dropped, I've been looking for info anywhere I could and also looking at different takes on all this, with some downplaying all this, others switching forks, and others just going Chromium. Personally, I think the best option is looking into one of the many forks, or if you can't switch at the moment, harden your copy of Firefox.

On top of this, I'm going to keep an eye out for any changes with all this, but I'm most likely going to be jumping ship first chance I get.

That said, I also recomend you do your own research and do what's best for you.

Also, going to add this here since this I haven't seen this talked about much and didn't know where else to put it, but Mozilla not making it totally clear whether Firefox counts as a 'service' or not is concerning, especially when they say 'you can't use our services for nsfw and violent content,' especially when nsfw and violent content are common in a lot media and have been for years.

Reasons it is a scam:

1) long, but doesn't reference the fic or characters at all

2) wants money - and will only communicate through dms, they don't have a public profile with proof of their work

Important! Your pet's RFID chip number might have been disconnected this week.

Is your pet chipped? They should be. Do you know who made the chip?

Pet RFID chips are so small that there's really only room on them for a serial number. When your lost pet is brought to a shelter or a vet's office, they can scan the chip, read that number, and then type it into a program that draws from a series of linked databases to find your name and phone number. That's how they find you, and tell you that Silly Lilly von Wigglesbottom has gone wandering, and she's safe and sound, and would you come get her, please?

Texas-based Save This Life, which provided chips to vets and shelters all across the US, has all at once and abruptly gone dark; their database is just gone. Their customers were not given warning and so did not know to change their registration to another company. A lot of animals have basically become anonymous now.

If you don't know what company you've been using, call your vet's office and ask what pet chip number they have on file. If the chip number starts with 991 or 900164, it's probably a Safe This Life chip.

If it turns out yours is one of the affected cases, the chip itself will still be fine! There's no need to add another, or anything like that. You'll just need to transfer the number to another company, and your vet should be able to recommend the one that they like the best.

Never said I'm non-ship, it's just, mine aligns different (ZeroIris), I just don't have a lot posted... yet. XD

...And, hoo-boy, do I have a lot already with them (even a whole AU where Iris survives, but that's still in planning). My only problem is good fics between them can be hard to find.

Whether I can help change that, we'll have to see... >.>

And as for X and Zero's relationship, I've never been able to wrap my head around it on the shipping side (I've actually tried but it didn't feel right to me). Part of it probably has to do with how I've always felt about love not always having to be romantic. On top of that, I feel like any love between them seems like it'd be familial (which comes into play in my AU).

But, I mean, even if you view their relationship differently, why would you want to keep any chaos contained between just the two of them? >:)
